The contact owns a 2007 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at 30 MPH, there was an abnormal metal sound detected. The vehicle began to shake abnormally and stalled. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who informed her the failure was due to the axle. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

I didn’t know or the incident with the car until I purchased and started noticed The way it drives. It do have a problem with acceleration while shifting gears, and also loses power with A/c turned on.

THE CAR NEVER GAVE ANY INDICATION OF A PROBLEM. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, SMOKING, NOT EVEN OIL USAGE FOR THAT MATTER. I CHECKED THE OIL EVERY TIME I GOT GAS BECAUSE I BOUGHT IT 3 WEEKS PRIOR. THEN WAS DRIVING TO INTERSTATE TO WORK WHEN I HEAR JT START CLICKING IMMEDIATELY GOT A OIL LIGHT THEN DIES AND WAS STUCK ON INTERSTATE CARS ZOOMOMG BY AT 80 IF I WERE IN THE CENTER LANE I WOULD BE DEAD.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SERPENTINE BELT DETACHED WHICH CAUSED THE POWER STEERING TO BE INOPERABLE. THE ALTERNATOR WAS ALSO NOT CHARGING DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF THE VEHICLE WAS FLAWED BECAUSE THE IDLER PULLEY BOLT FRACTURED INTERNALLY AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SEIZE. ALSO, THE BATTERY INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN. WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED, THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE COASTED OFF THE ROAD AND TOWED TO A REPAIR FACILITY. THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE IDLER PULLEY FOUR TIMES AND THE TENSION PULLEY ALSO HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE BOLT FRAYED AT THE END SEVERAL TIMES. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE SAME OEM PARTS WERE REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL REMEDY TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION. THE PULLEY WELL WAS NOT FUNCTIONING CONCERNING THE BELT AND THE VEHICLE REMAINED PARKED AT THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

DRIVING AT 70 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE, CAR SUDDENLY SHUDDERS, WRENCH LIGHT COMES ON. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED ONTO THE NEAREST EXIT RAMP AND DROVE AT REDUCED SPEED UNTIL ABLE TO STOP. SHUT OFF CAR, THEN TURNED IGNITION KEY TO CHECK DIAGNOSTICS. ALL GOOD? STARTED CAR, DROVE MAYBE 50 FT WHEN WRENCH AND EMISSIONS LIGHTS CAME ON AND CAR WENT INTO 'LIMP' MODE. GOT OFF OF RAMP AND SHUT OFF CAR FOR 5 MIN. RESTARTED CAR, EMISSIONS LIGHT ON ONLY, BUT CAR WAS DRIVE-ABLE DROVE 20 MILES @ 60-65MPH WITH NO PROBLEM UNTIL I GOT HOME. OUTSIDE TEMP WAS -5F. NEXT MORNING CHECKED CAR WITH OBD2 DIAGNOSTIC TOOL. A 'P2110' CODE APPEARED, SIGNIFYING TAC/PCM ISSSUE/S. AFTER CHECKING EARLIER NHTSA RECORDS, THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES! MY WIFE USES THE SAME CAR, AND IF WHAT HAPPENED TO ME HAPPENED TO HER, MOST LIKELY THE RESULTS WOULD HAVE BEEN FATAL!!! IS SOMEONE DYING HAVE TO BE WHAT WILL GET A RECALL? PLEASE DO SOMETHING. WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY THE WRENCH LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND I EXPERIENCED AN UNEXPECTED, SUDDEN LOSS OF ENGINE POWER AND ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE RAPIDLY DECREASED IN SPEED FROM HIGHWAY SPEEDS TO BARELY BEING ABLE TO MAINTAIN SPEEDS OF 20MPH. ENGINE POWER AND VEHICLE SPEED ARE SEVERELY AND RAPIDLY REDUCED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE FULL FUNCTION OF THE POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKING, LIGHTING, AND CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEMS ARE NOT EFFECTED. NO SIGN OF THE ISSUE THE NEXT DAY, ONCE THE CAR IS TURNED OFF AND BACK ON. THIS SEEMS TO BE A WIDESPREAD AND DOCUMENTED PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY INCLUDING AN INVESTIGATION AND TWO SEPARATE "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAMS" TO REPAIR MODEL YEARS 2009-2013. APPARENTLY THE SAME THROTTLE BODY PART IS INTERCHANGEABLE FROM YEARS 206-2009 SO LIKELY IT COULD BE WIDESPREAD IN THESE MODEL YEARS. THIS IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS AND NEEDS TO BE A FULL RECALL.

TENSIONER PULLEY DISCONNECTS FROM ENGINE CAUSING THE DRIVE BELT TO COME OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO THE REFERENCED VEHICLE FOR (4) TIMES SINCE 2008 AND AT EACH TIME SAID VEHICLE WAS IN VARIOUS STAGES AS FOLLOWS: 1ST TIME WAS IN MOTION IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION WHILE TAKING A LEFT TURN; 2ND TIME WAS IN MOTION IN A PARKING LOT RIGHT WHEN TURNING INTO PARKING SPACE; 3RD TIME WAS PREVENTED WHEN TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP BECAUSE OF A SQUEALING SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE WHEN GAS PEDAL WAS USED; AND THE 4TH TIME IT CAME OFF WHEN STARTING THE ENGINE WHILE PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY AT MY HOME. EACH TIME IT WAS REPLACED IT WAS TAKEN TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED AND EACH TIME IT HAS NOT BEEN FIXED PROPERLY. AT THIS TIME THERE IS A SQUEALING SOUND STARTING TO COME FROM THE VEHICLE WHEN IT HAS BEEN STARTED BUT DIMINISHES AFTER ENGINE HAS WARMED UP. NOW I FEEL IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THE UNTHINKABLE WILL HAPPEN.....

IDLER PULLEY BOLT HAS BROKEN TWICE IN THE 2 YEARS I'VE HAD THIS VEHICLE. EACH OF THE BOLTS SNAPPED AND GOT STUCK IN THE ENGINE BLOCK. WHEN THE BOLT BREAKS IT RESULTS IN A LOSS OF POWER STEERING, THE ENGINE STARTS TO OVERHEAT, AND OTHER ISSUES OCCUR DUE TO THE SERPENTINE BELT COMING OFF TRACK. EACH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME ON A VERY BUSY HIGHWAY AND ALMOST CAUSED A COLLISION.

THE DASHBOARD AROUND AIRBAG PORTION HAS COME APART AND IS RISING UP ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE DASHBOARD. PASSENGERS' SIDE THE SEAT BELT LIGHT AND SEAT BELT BUZZER GOES OFF. HAVE NOTIFIED FORD. NO COMPENSATION. DO NOT HAVE PICTURES AVAILABLE, BUT IF NEEDED WILL EMAIL THEM ASAP. THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WERE TOXIC GASES LEAKING FROM THE AIRBAG COMPARTMENT WHICH TAMPERED WITH THE ADHESIVE ON THE DASHBOARD. THE DASHBOARD BEGAN TO BUBBLE UP AROUND THE COMPARTMENT. THE SEATBELTS WOULD NOT RELEASE. THE CONSUMER'S GRANDCHILD HAD TO WRIGGLE OUT FROM UNDER THE SEAT BELT. THE SEATBELT HAD TO BE UNSCREWED FROM THE FLOOR TO RELEASE THE PRESSURE ON IT. THE INTERIOR DASHBOARD LIGHT, RADIO, CLOCK, MILEAGE, AND CD PLAYER WOULD NOT OPERATE. THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THE DRIVER'S SEAT SEAMS BEGAN SEPARATING, THE BRAKES STICK, THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES BROKE OFF, THE REARVIEW FELL OFF WHILE DRIVING, AND THE TIRES HAD A CONSTANT LEAK. *JS

EITHER IN 2008 OR 2009, SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING A BRAND NEW 2007 FORD FUSION, I WAS GREETED WITH THE FIRST MAJOR ISSUE OF MY BRAKES GOING OUT ON ME WHILE DRIVING. FIND OUT THIS WAS DUE TO A DEFECTIVE MASTER CYLINDER. THE ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON WITHIN 3-4 YEARS OF HAVING THE VEHICLE, AND WAS FOUND TO BE RELATED TO THE THERMOSTAT, THE ENGINE WOULD ALWAYS RUN TOWARDS THE COOL END, NEVER GOING ABOVE 1/3 OF THE WAY TO THE HALFWAY MARK. THAT WAS FIXED AFTER YEARS OF FAILED ATTEMPT. AND ALL THE WHILE, I NEVER HAD A FUNCTIONING AIR CONDITION UNIT AND WOULD HAVE TO REPAIR YEARLY, AND THEN FOUND TO BE RELATED THE CAR ALWAYS RUNNING TOO COOL. OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS, I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE GASKET TWICE, BECAUSE OIL WOULD APPEAR IN PLACES IT SHOULD NOT (I ALWAYS MAINTAIN MY CAR BY DOING THE OIL CHANGES, ETC ON TIME). THIS PAST SUNDAY, I WAS DRIVING AND GOING AROUND 70 MPH WHEN MY CAR STARTED TO DECELERATE TO 65, THEN 60, THEN WOULD NOT GO PAST 40 SO I PULLED OFF THE INTERSTATE AND DROVE BACK HOME. OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS I SMELLED BURNT OIL, AND THE SAME ISSUE WITH OIL BEING WHERE IT SHOULD BE HAPPENED AGAIN. MECHANIC IS TELLING ME IT IS DONE, AND AFTER RESEARCHING, THIS IS NOT SOMETHING UNIQUE TO JUST MY CAR. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED MANY HORRIFYING STORES ON THE SAME ISSUE, WITH SOME PEOPLE'S FUSIONS COMBUSTING AND STALLING THEM ON THE HIGHWAY. I DID NOTIFY THE FORD COMPANY TODAY OF ALL THE SAFETY ISSUES AND OTHER ISSUES RELATED TO MY CAR, JUST SO THEY HAVE IT DOCUMENTED ON THEIR END AS WELL. I AM APPALLED THIS CAR DOES NOT HAVE RECALLS OTHER THAN THE ONE RELATED TO THE AIRBAGS, WHICH THEY CAN NOT FIX YET, POSING MY PASSENGER AT RISK.

AFTER THE REPAIRS, WHILE DRIVING IN THE SNOW AND CHANGING LANES, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL STARTED SPINNING. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE TORQUE MOUNT FRACTURED AGAIN. THE CONTACT HEARD A KNOCKING NOISE IN THE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE TORQUE MOUNT WAS REPLACED AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 106,000.

WHILE DRIVING, CAR WOULD INTERMITTENTLY JERK FOR NO REASON. THEN, WHILE SITTING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT IN THE TURN LANE, CAR STALLED AND DIED. I JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE (134,000+ MILES, DETAILED SERVICE RECORDS AND MECHANICS DIAGNOSTIC PRIOR TO PURCHASE). APPARENTLY, THE PREVIOUS OWNER ALSO COMPLAINED OF THE CAR STALLING AND HAD REPLACED STARTER AND TCM AND HAD THROTTLE CLEANED BUT (UNBEKNOWNST TO ME), APPARENTLY NONE OF THESE THINGS FIXED THE ISSUE. I SPOKE WITH ONE FORD DEALER WHO SERVICED THE VEHICLE AND WAS TOLD THAT ALTHOUGH THE OWNER COMPLAINED OF THE PROBLEM, THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM. I HAVE SEARCHED VARIOUS FORUMS AND FOUND THAT OTHER DRIVERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE. IT ALSO APPEARS THAT FORD VEHICLES 2009-2011 WITH LESS THAN 150,000 MILES EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEMS WERE LISTED UNDER A RECALL BUT NOT 2007. IT SEEMS IF THE SAME ISSUE IS CREATING A DRIVING SAFETY HAZARD FOR EARLIER MODEL CARS, THOSE VEHICLES SHOULD ALSO BE INCLUDED UNDER THE RECALL.

ON APRIL 29TH, 2015, THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AGAIN WITH THE SAME ISSUE AS BEFORE. AAMCO STATED THAT THE SOLENOIDS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TOTAL COST FOR REPAIRS HAS BEEN $2,500 TO DATE. *TR

FOR THE PAST MONTH I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING LOSS OF ACCELERATION. MY CAR BASICALLY GOES INTO "LIMP MODE" WHEN THE PROBLEM ARISES. THE CAR LOSES ALL ACCELERATION AND CAN ONLY GO ABOUT 10MPH. THE FIRST TIME I NOTICED IT, I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND THE CAR STARTED TO MAKE A "HICCUP" FEELING RESULTING IN TOTAL LOSS OF ACCELERATION POWER. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY THE WRENCH ICON LIGHTS UP. THE ONLY WAY TO START DRIVING AGAIN IS TO PULL OVER AND TURN THE CAR OFF. UPON RESTARTING THE CAR THE WRENCH ICON IS OFF AND SEEMS TO DRIVE FINE FOR A LITTLE WHILE. SINCE THEN, I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM AT LEAST 8 TIMES PER WEEK, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON AS WELL FOR A FEW DAYS THEN DISAPPEAR. I HAVE NOTICED THAT 2010-2013 FORD FUSIONS HAVE HAD A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM ASSIGNED BY FORD FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM, PROVIDING A 10 YEAR/150,000 MILE WARRANTY FOR THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY. I WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 60 MPH AND SUDDENLY I FELT THE VEHICLE HAVE SOME TYPE OF LOSS OF POWER. I TRIED TO PRESS ON THE GAS PEDAL AND THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND THE RPM ODOMETER WAS "JUMPING" FROM 1 TO 1.5 AND THE IDLE WAS HORRIBLY ROUGH.THE MOTOR SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS A FORCED IDLE. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND OPENED THE HOOD TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON, I CHECKED EVERYTHING TO SEE IF MAYBE THERE WAS ANYTHING LOOSE OR SOMETHING IN THERE AND THERE WAS NOTHING THAT I COULD SEE SPOT ON OR NOTICE SPOT ON. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON THE 'SYMPTOMS" AND CLEANING OR FORCING SHUT THE THROTTLE ACTUATOR WAS THE NUMBER ONE THING THAT KEPT SHOWING. SO I PULLED EVERYTHING APART AND CLEANED IT AND SPRAYED SOME WD-40. ONCE I OUT EVERYTHING BACK TOGETHER I THEN STARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE WRENCH LIGHT TURNED OFF AND IT WAS RUNNING LIKE NORMAL. *TR

THIS CAR HAD A HISTORY OF LOST POWER/STALL WHILE DRIVING ON CITY AND HIGHWAYS WITHOUT ANY SYMPTOMS NOR WARNINGS. MY PARTICULAR CONCERN WAS LAST WEEK IT LOST POWER/STALL WHILE DRIVING ON MULTI-LANE EB I-96 FROM DETROIT TO GRAND RAPIDS, MI, WHICH WE HAD TO PERFORM EMERGENCY EVASIVE ACTIONS TO GET OUT OF THE BUSY HIGHWAY TRAFFIC TO AVOID COLLISION/ACCIDENT THAT MAY RESULT WITH PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH. IT HAD NO SYMPTOMS NOR WARNING. THE CAR SIMPLE LOST POWER REDUCE TO IDLE SPEED AT AROUND 600 RPM. IT FAILED TO RESPONSE TO CRUISE CONTROL, GAS PEDAL CONTROL. MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE CAUSE LIKELY THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY OR THE MASS AIRFLOW SWITCH. BOTH OF THEM ARE NOT SERVICEABLE PARTS AND NOT RELATE TO MAINTENANCE, WEAR OR TEAR. THIS CAR HAD BEEN SERVICED BY FORD DEALER SINCE WE BOUGHT IT NEW. NO ADVICE OR ANYTHING WAS GIVEN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000. THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS A NOISE COMING FRONT HE ENGINE. THE DEALER STATED THE REPLACED THE IDLER TENSIONS PULLEY. HOWEVER, HE CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS. THE CONSUMER WENT TO ANOTHER DEALER, WHO INFORMED HIM, THE PROBLEM WOULD HAPPEN AGAIN, BECAUSE THE BOLTS THAT HELD THE PULLEY IN PLACE, WERE TOO SMALL IN DIAMETER AND WOULD BREAK AT SOME POINT. AS THE CONSUMER WAS BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, HE HEARD A NOISE THEN LOST POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. UPDATED 11/10/13

DRIVING HOME AFTER VEHICLE WAS "REPAIRED" CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO DEALERSHIP, DIAGNOSED A CATALYTIC CONVERTER FAILURE. CATALYTIC CONVERTER FAILED DUE TO THE PCM/COIL FAILURE. VEHICLE WILL NOT PASS EMISSIONS INSPECTION UNTIL CONVERTER IS REPAIRED/REPLACED AT AN ADDITIONAL COST OF $2,000+. DEALERSHIP INDICATED THAT NOTHING COULD HAVE BEEN DONE TO PREVENT THE PCM/COIL FAILED, IT "JUST HAPPENED". NO PROBLEMS SINCE, BUT WAS WARNED THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN AGAIN BY DEALER, AND THAT THIS WOULD BE WARRANTIED. NOT SURE IF THAT IS TRUE. DEALER WOULD NOT ADMIT TO ANY PROBLEMS WITH OTHER FUSIONS, NOR WOULD REGIONAL FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE REP. ACCORDING TO THE MECHANIC, THE DIAGNOSTIC SHOWED ONE OF THE COIL PACKS MALFUNCTIONED.. UPON REPLACEMENT, THE COIL PACK OVERHEATED AND BLEW AGAIN. FINDING IT ODD, THE MECHANIC CONTACTED FORD. WORKING WITH THE FORD TECHNICIAN, A BULLETIN WAS FOUND STATING THE CAR HAD A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE PCM, THE COMPUTER MODULE FOR THE VEHICLE. FORD TOLD THE MECHANIC, THE PART WOULD BE THERE IN 2 WEEKS. 2 WEEKS WENT BY AND ON CHRISTMAS EVE, OUR MECHANIC WAS TOLD THERE IS A NATIONAL BACK ORDER ON THE PART AND IT WOULD BE 2 TO 4 MORE WEEKS. ALSO, THE REPAIR WOULD COST IN THE VICINITY OF 1700.00 DOLLARS. IT IS NOW 1/12/14 AND WE STILL HAVE NO CAR AND NO WORD ON WHEN IT WILL BE FIXED. FORD''S RECENT ADS INFURIATE ME ON TV ABOUT THEIR RELIABILITY ETC COMPARED TO OTHER BRANDS. THE WARRANTEE EXPIRED AT 80K MILES AND THIS CAR HAS 84K ON IT. WE ARE STILL MAKING PAYMENTS ON A CAR THAT IS INOPERABLE FOR THE PAST 6 WEEKS, AS WELL AS FACING A HUGE REPAIR BILL, WHICH ADDS INSULT TO INJURY. AT THREE YEARS I HAD TO HAVE A HEFTY BRAKE SERVICE DONE BECAUSE OF A CLICKING NOISE WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. I NOTICED AT FOUR YEARS THAT WHEN I WOULD REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION AND OPEN THE DOOR, THE CAR WOULD CHIME AS IF THE KEY WAS STILL IN IT. THE DEALER HAD NO IDEA WHAT CAUSED THE CHIMING AND IT HAPPENED SPORADICALLY. THE BIGGEST ISSUE WAS IN LATE NOVEMBER OF 2011, I WAS MERGING ON TO THE HIGHWAY AND GOING TO PASS A VEHICLE; MY CAR BEGAN TO REV REALLY HIGH, BUT I WAS NOT ACCELERATING THAT MUCH. I SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL THEN BACK TO FIFTH GEAR STILL NO ACCELERATING. AT THAT MOMENT THE CHECK ENGINE CAME ON AND I NOTICED THAT THE CAR WAS DEAD AND COSTING. AFTER I STOPPED ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR WOULD NOT START AT ALL. HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER, WHERE THEY SPENT TWO WEEKS OF TEARING APART MY MOTOR. THEY DETERMINED THAT A BOLT CAME LOOSE RELEASING MY TIMING BELT DESTROYING MY ENGINE. I PURCHASED AND EXTENDED WARRANTY WHICH SAVED ME $7500 IN REPLACEMENT COST. AFTER TWO MORE WEEKS I HAD THE CAR BACK. I NOTICED BELT NOISE WHEN I STARTED THE CAR AND THE ENGINE WAS LOUDER THAN THE ORIGINAL ENGINE. WITHIN A MONTH THE CAR WOULD NOT START AGAIN. THE CHIP IN THAT KEY WENT OUT, AND WHEN I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER I COMPLAINED ABOUT THE CHIMING AND THE BELTS. THEY INFORMED ME; THE KEY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED (COSTING $300 DOLLARS), MY BELTS WERE FROM THE ORIGINAL ENGINE AND NOW STRETCHED OUT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND THE STARTER WAS GOING OUT. THE MYSTERY OF THE CHIMING WAS FINALLY SOLVED. FORD OFFERED ME EMPLOYEE PRICING ON A NEW CAR BUT WOULD NOT BY BACK MY FUSION. THE DEALERSHIP OFFERED ME NOTHING. LOST POWER WHILE TRYING TO PASS A CAR HAD NO THROTTLE AND ALMOST HAD A HEAD ON COLLISION GOT GOT HOME HAD A AIR INJECTION CODE P0491 IN THE SYSTEM. FOUND A BAD AIR INJECTION PUMP LOADED WITH WATER REPLACED THE AIR PUMP AND THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED I SEE FORD HAS A LOT OF ISSUES WITH WATER GETTING INTO THESE PUMPS BUT REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.CONTACTED FORD WITH NO RESPONSE. I WORKED IN FORD DEALERSHIPS FOR OVER 25 YEARS SO I KNOW HOW TO DIAGNOSE THESE PROBLEMS. I WAS DRIVING DOWN MY SIDE STREET (25MPH RESIDENTIAL ROAD) WHEN THE ENGINE BEGAN TO LAG. IT EVENTUALLY STALLED TO WHERE I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE STREET. VEHICLE TURNED OFF AND WOULD NOT START. IT WOULD TURNOVER BUT WOULD BEGAN TO IDLE ERRATICALLY AND WOULD SHUT OFF WITHIN 5-15 SECONDS. I TRIED A FEW TROUBLE SHOOTING TECHNIQUES BUT EVENTUALLY GAVE UP AND TOOK IT TO AN AUTO SHOP. THEY CONNECTED THE CODE READER AND FOUND 3 DIFFERENT FAULTS WITH THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY. I WAS TOLD THAT THESE ARE ON BACK ORDER UNTIL JUNE 18TH. *TR

WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON HIGHWAY, THERE WAS A SUDDEN ERROR LIGHT FLASH AND THEN VEHICLE SHUT DOWN. MOTORIST WAS ABLE TO PULL VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. UPON MECHANIC'S INSPECTION, IT WAS FOUND THAT AN ENGINE COIL WAS BLOWING A FUSE, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SHUT DOWN. *TR

I WAS DRIVING WITH MY FIANCE WHEN WE HEARD A LOUD METAL SNAPPING SOUND WITH A FEW DINGING SOUNDS. APPARENTLY THE IDLER PULLEY SNAPPED OFF AND BOUNCED AROUND CAUSING ME TO LOSE MY POWER STEERING. IT WAS A GOOD THING I WASN'T DRIVING TO FAST OR IT WASN'T TWO DAYS LATER AS WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE DRIVING TO FORT KNOX, BECAUSE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN WORSE WITH IT SNAPPING OFF LIKE THAT GOING 70MPH. HAD A FRIEND HELP ME GET IT HOME WHERE I FOUND THE IDLER PULLEY WITH THE BOLT SNAPPED 3/4 OF THE WAY DOWN AND THE SERPENTINE BELT WITH A FEW MARKS ON IT FROM WHERE THE BOLT RUBBED AGAINST THE BELT. I'VE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT THAT HAS BEEN HAPPEN FOR AWHILE NOW WITH OTHER FORD FUSIONS. SOME SAID THAT THEY HAD THIS ISSUE FIXED AND IT HAPPEN AGAIN. I REALLY THINK TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE THAT FORD SHOULD FIX BECAUSE IT SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH EITHER THE BOLT, THE AREA ON THE ENGINE BLOCK WHERE THE BOLT SITS, OR EVEN THE TENSION ON THE SERPENTINE BELT ITSELF CAUSING THE BOLT TO SNAP OFF LIKE THAT. *TR

SAME VEHICLE AS PREVIOUS COMPLAINT (WRONG YEAR SELECTED ON PREVIOUS COMPLAINT). THE VEHICLE IS A 2007 FORD FUSION SE V6 WITH SIX SPEED AUTOMATIC. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MERGE, ANOTHER DRIVER WAS BLOCKING ME BY SPEEDING TO GET ALONGSIDE ME WHILE I WAS ON A MERGE LANE. THE OTHER DRIVER THEN MATCHED MY SPEED. I HIT THE BRAKES BECAUSE THE FUSION WILL NOT SLOW DOWN OTHERWISE. I THEN HIT FLOORED THE ACCELERATOR TO PREVENT ANOTHER VEHICLE FROM CLOSING THE GAP, AS HE WAS ATTEMPTING TO DO. THE CAR DID NOTHING FOR ABOUT 3 SECONDS EVEN THOUGH THE ACCELERATOR WAS ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. THE RPM DID NOT CHANGE, THE SPEED DID NOT CHANGE AND I HAD TO HOLD THE ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR HOPING THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD RESPOND BEFORE THE NEXT CAR TRIED TO CUT ME OFF AND I RAN OUT OF MERGE LANE.
