This isn't an incident. I just want to report that Ford Motors will not replace the Hydraulic Control unit that is under recall for my 2008 Ford Fusion. They will only replace cars that are 15 or less years old. My car has 117,000 miles on it. Far less than the yearly average of 14,000 miles. If this truly a safety issue, then I feel that my car should be serviced under the recall. I chatted with the Ford Customer service rep and he informed me that it was safe to drive, But he did tell me to take it to a Ford dealer (of course) and that I would be financially responsible for the repair. So I own a vehicle that is under a recall, but since it's 1 year past the 15 year ownership date, Ford will not repair it under the recall. Thus any Ford owner that owns a vehicle that is older than mine is also out of luck Thank you for taking the time to read this and maybe encourage Ford to do the right thing. My car should not be any less safe than a 2010 car
The dashboard has warped. The seems on the dashboard around the passenger side airbag cover have become partially unattached to the rest of the dashboard and have caused an opening above passenger side airbag that may allow for debris/dirt to enter into safety equipment and could potentially lead to serious hazards to person if airbag unit deploys. The plastic vent and sensor under the windshield located in the very top front of the dashboard has cracked and has also become dislodged and lifteb from dashboard housing and can pose safety issues if in a collision. There is also some notable brittleness arising in the dashboard material. The warping of the dashboard and its components pose strong safety concerns and a risk to service departments doing recall repairs for manufacturers. There are many similar vehicles produced by this manufacturer during this time that have had same dashboard failures and at the very least it was been the root of stress anxiety for owners and repair dealerships.
I just bought this car and the brakes do not feel right when i go to stop. They are new and i got them changed today and it still makes a pop noise.
The number 16 transmission fuse would blow and then the car wouldn’t start until you replaced the fuse and now it’s not even starting when the fuse is replaced.
The passenger side airbag is bulging from the dashboard causing the widows to fog. Also while driving parts of the dashboard flew off which could result in injury or death if this issue is not resolved promptly
A RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR OUR 2008 FOR FUSION CONCERNING THE ABS SYSTEM. THIS RECAL IS NHTSA 19V904. WE HAVE RECIEVED POSTCARDS FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY CONCERNING THIS CRITICAL DEFECT IN THE BRAKE SYSTEM NUMEROUS TIMES IN THE PAST 2 YEARS, THIS PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED AND I FEEL THE CAR MAY ME UNSAFE TO DRIVE DAILY.THE MASTER CYLINDER HAS BEEN REPLACED TO TRY AND REMEDY THIS PROBLEM OVER 2 YEARS AGO. STILL, BRAKE TRAVEL AND FLUID HAS LOST PRESSURE MANY TIMES SINCE WHILE DRIVING. THE LOCAL DEALER , NOR FORD MOTOR COMPANY,WILL NOT COMMENT ON THE RECALL NOR THE REPAIR THAT IS NEEDED AND ESTIMATED TIME THIS WILL BE.
DASHBOARD AROUND THE AIRBAG AND DEFROSTING AGENT IS BULGING AND COMING APART. I FEEL THAT THIS WOULD BE A MALFUNCTION IF THE AIRBAG WERE TO BE DEPLOYED CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.

THE DOOR HANDLES KEEP BREAKING. THEY ARE MADE OF JUNK PLASTIC AND I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE 3 OUT OF 4 DOOR HANDLES AND THE DRIVER DOOR 3 DIFFERENT TIMES NOW. I ALSO HAVE A FRIEND WITH A 2012 FUSION WITH THE SAME ISSUE. PLEASE RECALL THESE CRAPPY PARTS FORD!
MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE. THRU EXTENSIVE RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE ON THE FUSIONS YEARS 2007- 2012 MODELS. IT SEEMS TO BE THAT A CRACK FORMS IN THE HANDLE CAUSING THE CABLE TO COME OUT OF PLACE. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS STATIONARY.

TAKATA RECALL: THE AIRBAG IS OPENING. ALSO THE LONG BAR ON THE DASHBOARD CLOSE TO THE FRONT WINDOW, THE LEFT SIDE HAS POPPED UP. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT!
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM CAMPUS AND MY SUSPENSION STARTED ACTING UP. IT STARTED FIRING UP AND DOWN AND FLUCTUATING A LOT. I HAD TO PULL OFF THE HIGHWAY AND TAKE BACKROADS. IT WAS STILL ACTING UP THE ENTIRE TIME. THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT AND "WRENCH" LIGHT BOTH CAME ON SIMULTANEOUSLY. I COULD BARELY GO OVER 35 MPH WITHOUT THE RPM FLARING UP PAST 5000 AND IT FELT LIKE MY WHOLE ENGINE WAS GOING TO GIVE OUT. EVEN WHEN I WAS GOING 20-25 MPH, IT FELT AND SOUNDED LIKE I HAD THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR. THE AAA GUY WHO TOWED MY CAR SAID THAT I HAD THE SAME TRANSMISSION PART NUMBER AS A 2010, WHICH GOT RECALLED FOR FAULTY TRANSMISSIONS. MY CAR ONLY HAS 40,000 MILES ON IT SO THERE IS NO WAY I SHOULD BE HAVING ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION UNLESS THE PART IS FAULTY OR IT IS SOMETHING I AM UNAWARE OF.

DASH BOARD IS WARPED. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I WAS TOLD THAT THEY NO LONGER HAD THE DASHBOARD. THIS DASHBOARD IS SO WARPED IT IS AN ISSUE TO THE AIRBAGS.

ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE DASHBOARD WHERE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG, AND THE DASHBOARD MEET, THE DASHBOARD HAS SEPARATED FROM THE AIRBAG COMPARTMENT RESULTING IN A BELL SHAPED CURVE RISING APPROXIMATELY 1 1/2 INCHES ABOVE THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT COMPARTMENT. IF THE AIRBAG WERE TO DEPLOY, IT COULD BE AFFECTED BY THIS AMOUNT OF RISEN DASHBOARD. I'VE ALSO SEEN THIS IN OTHER 2008 FORD FUSIONS. SENT LETTERS TO FORD, AND THEY REFUSE TO HELP OUT.

THE DASHBOARD IS BULGING IT DOESN'T LOOK GOOD AND IT DOESN'T FEEL SAFE. I WONDER IF IT WOULD ACTIVATE CORRECTLY AT AN IMPACT DURING AN ACCIDENT OR IF IT WOULD ACTIVATE WHILE RIDING DOWN THE ROAD. IT STARTED ON THE RIGHT SIDE PASSENGER AND IT HAS SLOWLY MOVED TO THE LEFT SIDE DRIVER. THIS STARTED HAPPENING OVER 2 YEARS AGO AND IT'S SLOWLY BECOME WORSE. FORD NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE FIX THIS IS COSMETIC BUT IT ALSO IS FUNCTIONAL WITH THE AIRBAG RIGHT BEHIND IT WHERE IT STARTED.
WHEN THE ABS IS ENGAGED, BRAKES GO SOFT/ARE LOST. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TO 4 TIMES SO FAR. SO WHEN THE ABS ACTIVATES, I LOSE ABOUT 80 PERCENT OF MY BRAKING CAPABILITY AND HAVE TO PUSH THE BRAKE ALL THE WAY TO THE GROUND FOR IT TO EVEN SLOW DOWN THE CAR. IT DOES NOT EVEN STOP THE CAR, IT JUST SLOWS THE CAR A LITTLE BIT. THE CAR THEN NEEDS TO BE RESTARTED FOR THE BRAKES TO WORK AGAIN. THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT OF THIS WAS IN WASHINGTON DC. THE ABS ENGAGED ON A CITY STREET AND THE CAR ROLLED INTO THE INTERSECTION BECAUSE THE BRAKES FAILED. THERE WAS NO COLLISION BUT ONLY NARROWLY.

THE CONTACT'S MOTHER TOOK THE CONTACT TO THE HOSPITAL DUE TO INJURIES TO THE RIGHT FOREARM, THUMB, AND RIGHT SHOULDER. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THIS PAST WEEK MY CAR HAS BEEN DRIVING ROUGH (SPUTTERING) AND SEEMS TO NOTICE IT MORE WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY BUT THERE ARE TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS YOU CAN NOTICE IT (HEAR IT AND FEEL IT) TOO. MY TIRES ARE GOOD, LAST YEAR ALREADY HAD THE PCM (MAJOR CONTROL MODULE) REPLACED ($2,700) ALONG WITH ALL THE COILS AND SPARK PLUGS, AND ALSO PCU REPLACED AND REPLACED MY HCU ($1,500). JULY 2016 I SAW SOME OTHER FORD FUSION OWNERS HAD COMPLAINED ABOUT THEIR DASHBOARDS AS WELL, SO I THOUGHT I SHOULD FILE A FORMAL COMPLAINT TOO BECAUSE IT IS SUCH A STRANGE DEFECT.

THIS IS VERY INCONVENIENT AND DANGEROUS I FEEL IF I WERE IN AN ACCIDENT. ALSO, MY 2008 FUSIONS AIR BAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DASH IS STARTING TO LIFT AWAY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND I WAS INFORMED THE DOOR CABLE BROKE. THIS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED AS A DEFECTED PART. ONE PERSON EVEN EXPLAINED THAT NOW HE CAN REPLACE HIS DOOR HANDLE IN LESS THAN 30...SINCE HE HAS DONE IT SO MANY TIMES. MOST RECENTLY THE FORD F 150 HAD A RECALL...FOR BROKEN INTERIO605-R HANDLES.
