Delayed/ rough up shift
The rear view camera will display a black screen or the image will be reversed causing confusion and dangerous reversal actions. Also the camera will go black in the middle of parking or not display at all. The transmission will slip without warning and the vehicle will have have to be shut down and restarted in order to drive correctly.
The transmission started smoking and I had it towed to a mechanic. They found a huge hole in the transmission and the bearing was gone .

My car started making a clicking grinding sound. The dealership says it's the flex plate. My fusion has an eco boost engine. I was quoted 8 to 10k to fix it. I was shocked to find oit this is a known issue with wxi boost but only later models have been recalled.
Car will stahl and lock steering wheel when yielding into traffic or driving. The advance trak light along with auto hill assist will pop up on dashboard stating to repair the issue.
The ability to stop quickly. Car jerked forward causing me to veer off the freeway. If I had not veered off, I would have ran into the back of the car in front of me. (Unaware of any problems with vehicle as the vehicle is stored more than driven) I brought the vehicle home and parked it because of the clucking noise. The recall repair on the vehicle did not fix the problem. Now the vehicle has a transmission failure just approximately 11,000.00 after the recall repair was closed out.

Automatic transmission issues. When putting car into reverse, the car pauses and then jumps into gear very hard. When driving down the road above 2k rpm, the car will drop into first gear, pegging the rpm gauge and throwing you forward. Only way to resolve is to pull over and cycle power. This happened multiple times with cars almost hitting me.

I bought my car in 2020 and immediately when I got home my car had died and I had to have it towed back to the dealership. Since then I have had 2 new batteries, 1 new lithium battery, and a new transmission. Issues with my vehicle include but are not limited to: 1. sporadically when I am driving all my dash lights come on and my power steering goes out and my car becomes difficult to steer safely. 2. my car has rolled back twice while I am in park. 3. Passenger airbag randomly will fault when I am driving. 4. My e-brake will randomly fault while I am driving. All of these issues happen very often and are happening more and more often. I have brought my car in a few times but I am told it needs to replicate the issues in order to be diagnosed but these issues happen sporadically and I cannot demonstrate them at will.

Transmission had internal mechanical failure. Transmission has been jerky and stalled shifting from 2nd gear to 3rd on the 6 speed auto Transmission since 2014 when taken into the dealer I was told there are no recalls or issues but problem has existed since purchased from Ford.
The engine makes a very loud ticking and whirring sound, there are also quite a few electrical components that will not communicate with the PCM causing errors on the vehicle code such as a switch component failure U2002-96 Battery voltage circuit below and above threshold U3003-16 and U3003-17, electric park break enable - Deactivated B1111-53. Lost communication with restraints control module U0151-00 Lost communication with pscm U0131-00 invalid data received from pscm - alive/sequence counter incorrect/not updated and right rear tone wheel - mechanical failures C0039-07 even though there have not been any accidents and all maintenance has been done on proper time frame. The car shifts very hard and sometimes hangs on rpm before a shift causing an even harder gear change. The emergency breaking system does not work at all and there is no warning when you come close to any object wall or person. The reverse parking sensors also came loose and recessed into the back bumper by themselves with no tampering or touching.

This seems completely unfair as I have the EXACT same transmission and obviously it will have the EXACT same issues. Therefore, I would like a total coverage for the repairs as it has already been identified as a manufacturing issue of Ford.

I was driving home from work in the freeway my 2013 Ford Fusion started shaking , jerking , stopping and not accelerating and all of the sudden came to a complete stop. I was almost hit by vehicles in the freeway and had to exit to get the vehicle tow due to faulty transmission issues with ecoboost. Ford was contacted and they try to tell me no open recalls for the transmission.
10 mins into driving the car the car had a loss of power and the instrument cluster flashed a see manual indicator and a wrench flashed on the screen within 1 min of pulling on to the shoulder of the road the entire engine compartment was in flames. I had the recall for the issue know to have caused this performed on the car but it doesn’t seem the issue was resolved. The car is now totaled due to an issue that has appeared to happen with multiple vehicles reported to the NHTSA.
Transmission is the worst I have ever used in any vehicle. Constantly slips downshifting and upshifting also when breaking. Transmission is slow to shift and then has hard bang and jerks the car

My issue is with the transmission when applying the brakes. It seems to be the regenerative braking switching back-and-forth between the brake pads and the regenerative motor. Which causes the dash to come up with a bunch of error codes, including ABS brakes, traction control, airbags, Lane monitoring. these transmissions have about a 75% failure rate.

Just before the December holiday, my car was making a notable noise. My local mechanic has diagnosed it to be a transmission failure at 99k miles. The shift cable bushing in my 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid degraded and broke apart from the gear shift cable. This resulted in me being unable to shift gears while the vehicle was in park. Fortunately the car was parked at the time but this could have been a serious safety concern had the vehicle been moving. Had been shopping all day, with no indication of a problem. Stopped to gas up vehicle and put the gear shifter in park, then removed the key (No warning or indicator there was a problem). Before exiting the vehicle, when releasing the brake pedal, the car started to roll forward. Brake pedal was immediately pressed again, before possibly colliding with another vehicle parked in front of my vehicle. I put the key back into the ignition to attempt to start the vehicle and it would not start. I looked at the gear indicator and it stated the car was in reverse, but the shifter was in park. Gear shifter override did not change the indicator on the dash either. Vehicle was able to roll forward and backward with gravity or pushing. I kept on the emergency brake and upon inspection of the engine compartment by the mechanic with the tow company, it was discovered that the gear shift cable had disconnected. Reconnection was attempted, but it would not stay connected. There is a current recall for this exact problem, but my VIN number was not included in the recall.
Defective Ford engine and engine cooling recalls have been issued for select models (i.e., recalls 12S41; 17S09;) for cars with 1.6 liter engines due to issues associated with low coolant levels in which a recall was issued in 2017 requiring Ford to install new coolant level sensors and the associated hardware and software in order to prevent engine overheating and catastrophic failure. While the recall was not issued for the 2013 Ford Fusion Energi Titanium Hybrid 2.0 liter engines, the problems identified with the 1.6 liter engines also characterize many of the 2.0 liter engines, including the one that I drive. My Ford has had 18 recalls, and during 2020 the engine light came on 4 different times between February and October of 2020 in which I brought the vehicle to Serramonte Ford service center to determine the reason. Ford did routine inspections and recall work in each visit, but it was not until the final time that the engine light came on that the tech looked inside the engine to discover leaking oil that Ford's service staff informed me I would require a new engine. Ford suggests replacing the defective engine with a rebuilt engine rather than breaking down and diagnosing the cause of the oil in the engine block, according to Ford due to the relatively cheaper cost to me (Ford did not make the diagnosis until after the car was out of warranty) of installing a rebuilt engine rather than tearing down the existing engine to diagnose and repair. I suspect that the 2.0 liter engine has the exact same issues as the 1.6 and should have been included in the 2017 recall, when I could have had the coolant level sensor installed while the car remained under the manufacturer's warranty. The car is at risk of a catastrophic fire now if I drive it off of the service center's lot, where it has been since November 2020. 12S41 and 17S09 recalls should be offered to the 2.0 liter engine models as well, before more people die.

The transmission shifter was in the “Park” position, but my dashboard highlighted the “Reverse” position. FORD CORPORATION SAID THE RECALL DID NOT APPLY TO MY VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE EXACT SAME ISSUE THEY INITIATED A RECALL FOR THE OTHER FORD FUSIONS FROM TWO SPECIFIC PLANTS.

THE CAR ONLY HAD 64K MILES WHEN I BEGAN FINANCING IT, BY 77K, THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED TWICE (FIRST TIME IN DEC.18, AND THEN JAN.19), AND IT STILL SHIFTED HARD (AT TIMES) AND STILL MADE A STRANGE SOUND. I AM INVOLVED IN A CLASS ACTION SUIT OVER THE TRANSMISSION, BUT THE REPAIRS WERE AFTERMARKET (AND MEDIA INDICATES THAT EVEN THE MANUFACTURER IS NOT CAPABLE OF FIXING THE PROBLEM) IN APPROXIMATELY THE MONTH OF MAY, 2019, THE VEHICLE ALSO WOULD NOT START (KEY WOULD NOT TURN/NO LIGHTS CAME ON, ETC.). I CONTACTED THE CARMAKER, AND THEY HAD STATED THAT THEY'D "NEVER HEARD OF THIS KIND OF ISSUE BEFORE", BUT THEY DID OFFER TO PURCHASE THE VEHICLE BACK FROM ME (AT MARKET VALUE), BUT THEY BECAME DISINTERESTED WHEN I TOLD THEM THAT I WAS FINANCING THE VEHICLE FROM ELSEWHERE.

INITIAL IGNITION OF THE CAR RESULTS IN ENGINE STALL OUT POST ABNORMAL IGNITION TIME. FUSION WILL DISPLAY "POWER RUN ACTIVE" THEN "PRESS BRAKE TO START". THIS WILL REPEAT AFTER ANOTHER IGNITION ATTEMPT AND RE-SHOW THE SAME MESSAGES ON THE DASHBOARD. AFTER A THIRD IGNITION ATTEMPT THE ENGINE DOES NOT STALL OUT. THE PROBLEM IS NOT A SUDDEN ONSET BUT INITIAL SYMPTOMS OF THE ISSUE IS THAT THE CAR WILL STALL OUT AFTER 10 SECONDS OF DRIVING. INITIAL RE-IGNITION POST STALL RESULTS IN NORMAL FUNCTION OF THE CAR WITHOUT EXTRA ISSUE. HOWEVER, THIS EVENT BECOMES INCREASINGLY COMMON OVER TIME UNTIL IT SIMPLY STALLS OUT IMMEDIATELY POST IGNITION. DESPITE MULTIPLE TRIPS TO A FORD CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL MECHANIC, NO CODES ARE GIVEN BY THE COMPUTER WHICH RENDERS DIAGNOSIS OF THE FAULTY PART OR CAUSE OF THE ISSUE NEAR IMPOSSIBLE. PROBLEM MAY PRESENT ITSELF AS FAULTY ALTERNATOR, BATTERY, OR STARTER. HOWEVER, EVEN AFTER REPLACEMENT OF ANY POSSIBLY FAULTY AFOREMENTIONED PARTS THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS.

THE DEFECT CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION TO BE IN A GEAR STATE (REVERSE) DIFFERENT THAN THE GEAR SHIFT POSITION SELECTED BY ME (DRIVE). ALSO OFTEN TIMES WHEN I AM DRIVING WHEN ACCELERATING THE TRANSMISSION HAS A HUGE LAG IN IT AND SOMETIMES IT STICKS WITHOUT SHIFTING TO THE PROPER GEAR TO ACCELERATE, SOMETIMES I HAVE TO ACTUALLY MANUALLY SHIFT THE GEARS. AND IT GETS VERY ROUGH WHEN IT SLIPS AND SLIDES AND MAKES A BIG DROP WHICH ALSO SHAKES THE ENTIRE VEHICLE AND IT ALSO IMPAIRS THE DRIVING PERFORMANCE. AND ANOTHER THING IS THE SEAT BELT, THE REAR MIDDLE SEAT OF MY VEHICLE WHEN INSTALLING A CHILD SAFETY SEAT THE MIDDLE SEAT BELT GOT ALL JAMMED UP AND WOULD NOT WORK AT ALL. THE TEMPERATURE SEEMS TO BE VERY ERRATIC AND SEVERAL TIMES REACHED A TEMPERATURE OF 233 DEGREES BEFORE I DECREASED SPEED AGAIN. THIS SEEMS TO BE VERY HOT FOR AN ENGINE TO BE GETTING AND IS GREATLY CONCERNING CONSIDERING THE MOST RECENT RECALL ON OVERHEATING AND POTENTIAL FIRE. NOVEMBER 2016 WHILE I WAS COMING FROM THE GROCERY STORE MY CAR SUDDENLY STALLED AND COMPLETELY STOPPED. I IMMEDIATELY STARTED THE CAR BACK UP AND DROVE FOR A GOOD 2 MINUTES AND IT DID THE SAME THING, BUT THIS TIME I WAS IN THE STREET. EVERYDAY SINCE NOVEMBER IF I DRIVE MY CAR TOO MUCH, IT SHUTS OFF. IF I AM ON THE FREEWAY IN TRAFFIC, MY CAR WILL JUST TURN OFF. NOW FEBRUARY, I RECEIVED AN ERROR MESSAGE (ENGINE COOLANT OVER TEMPERATURE) AND MY CAR WILL NOT MOVE AT ALL. AFTER RUNNING DIAGNOSTICS AT THE DEALERSHIP, IT TURNS OUT THAT THE ENGINE BYPASS SOLENOID VALVE SHORTED OUT DUE TO A FAULTY COOLANT TEE ON THE HEATER CORE INLET. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, IT SEEMS THAT THIS WAS A RECALL ON 2013 FORD FUSION SE 1.6L CARS. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT MY SPECIFIC 2013 FORD FUSION SE 1.6L WAS NOT PART OF THIS RECALL (ALTHOUGH IT WAS INCLUDED IN THREE OTHER RECALLS FROM FORD). AFTER A SIMPLE SEARCH, I DISCOVERED THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE A WIDESPREAD ISSUE WITH THIS CAR-REGARDLESS OF THE RECALL. APPARENTLY OTHER 2013 FORD FUSION OWNERS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ARE EXPERIENCING THE EXACT SAME ENGINE COOLANT PROBLEM. WE HAVE HAD OUR 2103 FUSION NOW FOR 2 MONTHS. 1 WEEK AFTER HAVING THE CAR IT BEGAN TO MAKE A HUMMING NOISE AROUND THE GAS TANK AREA, THEN WHEN YOU SLOWED DOWN FOR A RED LIGHT THE CAR WOULD STALL AND BE HARD TO START BACK. SENT THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO ONLY BE TOLD THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. ONCE WE RECEIVED THE CAR BACK WE DROVE IT FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS AND THE CAR STARTED MAKING THE NOISE AGAIN AND WOULD STALL AGAIN. CALLED DEALERSHIP AND TOOK CAR BACK AGAIN STILL NOTHING. RECEIVED CAR BACK AND BEGAN TO NOTICE WHEN WE WAS FUELING THE CAR THAT THE RPM GAUGE WOULD GO UP AND DOWN AND THEN THE VEHICLE WOULD QUIT AND BE VERY HARD TO START BACK. THIS MEANT EVEN THOUGH THE LEVER WAS SHIFTED INTO PARK, IT WAS NO LONGER ATTACHED TO THE TRANSMISSION. THEREFORE, THE VEHICLE WAS STILL IN PARK. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE, I HAD THE COOLANT AND OIL REPLACED AND IT IS STILL DOING THE SAME THING. I GET TWO WARNINGS SHOWING THE YELLOW WRENCH, "POWER REDUCED TO COOL DOWN ENGINE" AND "ENGINE OVERHEAT" THE SUNNYVALE FORD DEALER CHARGED ME $200.00 DOLLARS TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MY CAR AND SAID THEY HAVE FOUND NOTHING. BUT THIS PROBLEM ONLY HAPPENS ON THE FREEWAY DRIVING AT 65 TO 75 MPH. OUR FREEWAYS SPEED LIMITS ARE HIGH ON INTERSTATES 5. I HAD SEVERAL BRUISES ON MY RIGHT SIDE ALONG WITH BRUISED RIBS WHERE THE DOOR GOT STUCK ON THEM WHEN IT DRAGGED ME. SPEED LIMIT INCREASED TO 60MPH, BEGAN ADJUSTING CRUISE CONTROL SPEED VIA THUMB BUTTON ON STEERING WHEEL COLUMN. AFTER THREE THUMB "CLICKS" TO 58MPH, VEHICLE LURCHED AND LOST POWER AND BEGAN IMMEDIATELY DECELERATING. POWER TRAIN LIGHT AND AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. PULLED TO RIGHT BERM AND SHUT OFF ENGINE. OVER THE NEXT 37 MINUTES, ATTEMPTED TO START VEHICLE EVERY 5-6 MINUTES. ON SIX DIFFERENT ATTEMPTS, THE VEHICLE REVVED AS ACCELERATOR APPLIED BUT THE ENGINE NEVER "CAUGHT" OR TURNED OVER, IT WOULD DIE AS SOON AS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL RELEASED. ON 7TH ATTEMPT, THE VEHICLE TURNED OVER, AND I WAS ABLE TO PROCEED TO THE NEXT EXIT. SINCE THE CAR SEEMED TO BE RUNNING NORMALLY, I RISKED IT AND TRIED TO GET THE VEHICLE HOME, KNOWING THAT A TOW AT 8PM ON CHRISTMAS EVE WOULD BE EXPENSIVE AND TIMELY. BY 3772 MILES, THE CAR BEGAN TO DOWNSHIFT VIOLENTLY, UPSHIFT AROUND 6 OR 7 THOUSAND RPMS, NOT SHIFT AT ALL, THE HEATED SEAT WOULD COME ON BY THEMSELVES WITH NO INDICATOR LIGHTS, THE TRANSMISSION GEAR INDICATOR LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN THE CAR IS OFF AND NO KEY INSIDE, THE RADIO TURNS ON AND OFF AT WILL WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED AND LOCKED UP, A SEVERE ODOR OF MILDEW COMES FROM THE A/C WHEN FIRST COMES ON, THE TRIM MOLDING KEEPS COMING OFF, THE CAR HAS LOST A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF POWER, THE LED LIGHTS IN THE TAIL LIGHTS STAY ON ALL NIGHT EVEN AFTER THE CAR IS TURNED OFF, AND ETC.
