My 2015 Ford Fusion back over prevention camera system, is no longer working. I only get the black screen with error message "Camera is unavailable. Contact dealership". Which is creating a safety issue, while the vehicle is backing up. Reference Recall Number 25SA9 as many other ford products have the same issue. Many 2015 Ford models are covered under this recall. However, my fusion is not, because the recall only states 2016. My camera was troubleshot by a certified mechanic and was deemed a faulty camera by testing it with a different camera, and the system started working properly again.

This puts myself and the people and vehicles around me at risk of collision when parking or reversing out of a parking space. This problem is common among many Ford Fusion owners.

I have been having issues with the vehicle where it will stall. This even happened when I was driving on the NJ turnpike, it stalled while driving and I had to pull over (thankfully I could) to restart the vehicle. It took the dealer 3 weeks to finally figure out the issue and tracked it down to a bad BCM (Body Control Module). I researched this further and found some interesting information. A significant number of 2015 Fusion owners report similar electrical glitches, with some experiencing a complete loss of power to multiple systems, including the center console, AC, and power windows. Diagnostics have identified water intrusion and corrosion in specific connectors, such as C134 near the front bumper, as a root cause, which can be resolved by cleaning and applying electric grease. However, a failing BCM itself is a common diagnosis, especially when multiple systems fail simultaneously and no other obvious cause is found. Replacing the BCM is a known solution, but it requires programming with the vehicle's specific as-built information and PATS key programming to function correctly; a new OEM BCM typically costs around $500. The BCM must be programmed using specialized diagnostic tools like Ford IDS software or equivalent, and the process includes steps like parameter reset, CEI configuration, and battery monitor sensor reset. While some owners have successfully bypassed the BCM using an external relay for specific functions like parking lights, this is a complex workaround and not a standard fix for a failing BCM. Persistent issues, especially those that recur after resets or component replacements, often point to a defective BCM, though other factors like a faulty wiring harness or a bad ground connection should also be ruled out. Given the prevalence of these problems across 2010–2019 Ford Fusions, some owners have advocated for a recall, citing safety concerns.

In November 2024 my back up camera failed. The dealership diagnosed a failed camera and installed a new one for $ 800. In July 2025 the camera failed again. It was under warranty but the dealer diagnosed the issue as a low power failure and replaced the battery for $ 600. This week the back up camera is beginning to intermittently fail with a message "see dealership for repair". I feel I may have spent $ 1400 for unnecessary repairs as the issue still exists. My Ford Fusion Hybrid is not on the list of Fords covered under the current recall.

The rear camera does not function properly on my 2015 Ford Fusion. When I try to use it, it either turns into a black screen or the message reads that "rear camera is unavailable", which has almost caused me to collide with another vehicle several times as I was trying to back up. I understand that there is a national recall for Ford Fusion vehicles from 2018 on for exactly the same reason. However, even though my Ford Fusion is a 2015, it demonstrates the same problem as the newer models listed in the recall. I would like to have my camera replaced (at no charge) as well, since I am dealing with the same safety hazard as the models listed in the national recall. I was driving on the highway in my car stop going then it start rolling backwards a little then i hit the breaks then put in park in put it back in drive then it started driving again then my brake lights came on and didn’t go off for about a week I have to unhook the battery I have a 8 year old son I was on the way to the hospital because my grand father was on life support when all this took place there was trucks going around us we almost got hit my three car thank god I made it home safe then I got. Home in my car just keep getting load as if I’m hitting the car there’s a load sound it makes when I start it up in i dont feel safe driving it … when out it being check out i really need some one to look at it

My backup camera has started to glitch like the other 2015 fords that are in recall. The screen will get green lines through it, go black, flip horizontal/vertical, flash on and off, it creates more of a distraction than assistance and makes it very hard to back in/out of tight spaces. I have not taken it to the dealership. Right before the other recall was released I called the dealership and told me I’d have to get a whole new camera installed and pay out of pocket. the rear backup camera does not work at all.i am elderly and cannot turn my head over my shoulders.the screen is constantly blue when i need to reverse and the message that the camera is malfunctioning is on the blue screen.Ford has a lot of rear camera issues on their late modle vehicles.they have admitted that vehicles going back to when they introduced the rear cameras that they do not work and it seems that the fusions have been forgotten about.THIS IS WRONG WAY TO THINK AND WE NEED A RECALL.I have friends and family that have affected vehicles and we are all complaining.Ford needs to own up to this and they need to do right or we will not be buying Ford anymore.Do Better Ford,lives are at stake.

3 times in the past 4 days my trunk has opened while the car has been turned off. Thankfully not while I was driving. Not Yet anyway. The doors have unlocked on their own while driving and parked. And the keypad light stays on all the time. There has been no warning lights on the dashboard. It is a safety concern, cause if it did that while driving (I’ve heard of others this has happened to) things can fly out of the trunk and cause someone to wreck. Or my car could get stolen. It’s at a ford dealership now, they’ve had it for 28 hrs and still don’t know what’s wrong with it or how to fix it. I’ve read where this has happened to many ford vehicles and no one has answers nor how to fix it. Which that makes no sense to me. I don’t understand how this isn’t already a safety recall. And what are people like me suppose to do, drive around and hope for the best since even the ford dealership apparently can’t fix it. So please help!!

Additionally, the Hill Assist warning light was illuminated after reconnecting the battery. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and the contact was informed that there was no recall coverage on the vehicle and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline. The transmission shift bushing fell off and my gear shift is stuck in park while the transmission indicator is registering as neutral. This was a recall for many Ford Fusion models but apparently not mine, although it is certainly the same issue the other models were experiencing. The bushing lubricant/bushing appears to have worn down over time resulting in this issue.

The contact stated that the vehicle jumped the curb, and the parking brake was activated. The vehicle was jerking and failed to move. Additionally, the lug nuts were swollen. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that there was water inside cylinder #4. The contact was informed that the engine had pushed oil into the wiring harness and flooded the computer. The flexible brake lines were replaced. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V162000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The failure mileage was approximately 77,000.

The power steer system went out on my car with no warning , the catalytic converter is going out . This car have caused me more problems than a little. The dealership are full so you can’t get any recall done. This is a bad car and should be off the lots. I can’t get reimbursed for no work I put into this car because I didn’t take it to the dealership. This is unfair to me I work very hard for my money. This is about the third complaint I have sent and no one has responded. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND FORDS.

Headlights do not work. I have replaced the low beams bulbs 3 times since purchasing my car over three years ago and each time the lights only work for a brief period of time them seem to short out unexpectedly, for no reason whatsoever. The high beams have been replaced multiple times as well. I purchased the fluorescent bulbs for better night vision. The lights were bright for a short period them dimmed and are only as bright as they should be if they were on low beam. This is some sort of an electrical issue or something to do with a manufacturer’s defect. Since I purchased my vehicle almost 4 years ago, there has been an ongoing issue with the transmission or alternator. The car “jumps out of gear” when putting the vehicle into park or when shifting the vehicle into drive from park. There is also a constant loud “humming/vibration” sound that clicks on and off continuously once the car is initially crunk up. The passenger door is coming off due to the loosening of bolts I assume but I’m not certain. Nothing has happened to cause this issue. The power outlets in the vehicle get extremely hot at times and cause phone cords to heat up. This has caused my phone to be destroyed! The rear view camera is now blurry with lines going through it. This is only happening when the car is put into reverse and rear view camera is in use. The Bluetooth and media in the vehicle gets stuck on “Sync Line In” & at times will not change to any other setting. This seems to be an electronic issue as well. There have been MANY recalls on my vehicle and I have taken it to the Ford dealership for repair each time however, none of these issue have been resolved . I am a single mother who work’s full time and is a full time student. This is my only form of transportation. I should not have to worry rather or not my car is safe for my children and I.

Had to have my transmission replaced due to harsh shifting into 2nd & 3rd gear while driving, as well as when you slow down it would down shift in those two gears. Had the transmission replaced, and not even a week later after they also updated the ECU for the transmission, now this transmission that was put in is doing the exact same thing. Now a few weeks later my trunk is randomly opening while I'm driving or while I'm at work, ECT.

My trunk.just randomly opens also ever time I use my remote it will open the latch just clicks if I start the car the trunk opens many many times if I get in super quick close the doors and lock the doors it will stay closed this is not correct Ford just tells you to bring it in and nothing ever happens this is ongoing for most of the escapes fusions focus newer and alder mine is a 2015 fusion 1.5 eco boost This really needs to be fixed there’s to many other problems these cars have bad transmission using coolant cracked blocks electric power steering growling like mine does just stinks spend good money for all these problems

Recall for this problem on other 2015 Ford fusions but my VIN is not included. I have been told this is a serious safety issue and it should be covered.

When pressing the start/stop button for the engine, the plastic chrome retaining ring collapsed. This resulted in the entire start/stop switch assembly falling into the dashboard. Causing an issue with turning off and on the engine, as per manufacturer guidelines and in a safe manner. Replacement of the entire switch unit is required.

The contact stated while driving 65-70 MPH, the messages: "Failed to Connect to AC Control System”, “SRS Air Bags System Malfunctioning" and "Blind Spot Visual System Not Working" were displayed. Additionally, the vehicle went into limp mode independently and would not accelerate over 65 MPH. The contact stated upon parking the vehicle, the doors and windows failed to unlock. The contact banged the front driver's side door several times and the door finally unlocked. The contact was also able to unlock the rear driver's side door after several attempts. However, the front and rear passenger side doors remained locked. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but the dealer declined to assist. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

This car will randomly shut off while driving at any speed on hot days. The display will say "Transmission not in Park" then the instrument cluster will go dark and the engine shuts off. There is no check engine light and there are no ODB codes presented. I have to wait some amount of time, which varies, before it will turn on again. It has also not turned on from sitting for more than eight hours on two hot days. This is very much a safety issue and searching the Internet I find it is not uncommon with Ford Fusion and Escape vehicles with no discernible solution being presented. My auto shop has looked at the vehicle and replaced the fuel flow sensor but it did not fix the issue. I have replaced the key ignition switch and immobilizer ring and pulled every fuse and cleaned the contacts with no resolution.

My car has approximately 97,000 miles on it. For the last 6 months, I've been getting alerts on my dashboard ("Service Advance Trak", "Hill Start Not Available", and one or two others). This happens at slow speeds and fast also when turning. When these alerts start, I lose power steering. I've also noticed that when I apply brakes at slow speeds, the ABS engages for a few seconds. I was told by the dealer that I needed a new battery but that was not the issue. I was driving with my kids in the car and it happen mid driving on the highway. I almost got into a serious accident but was able to gain control in enough time to steer out the way. This is a very dangerous issue and I see that it has been recalled but only on vehicles up North due to possible salt and water erosion with the snow. Now the dealership is suggesting to replace it costing 1800. This is absolutely ridiculous.

At approximately 80,000 miles, the abs censor came on, along with three other lights, one of which is traction control. The brakes begin acting out of control and power steering goes out. Mechanic came to look at it and told me that he’s seen a lot of the same problems with Ford vehicles, specifically fusions and fiestas. He told me it’s an ABS sensor in the electrical harness.

Overheated warning light flashed then went off when car was cooled down for 45 mins and then started right up and no warning light was ever seen again to come on then drove car 30 miles next morn car wouldn't start.checked engine coolant and it was all gone no visible leak.. no warning light Refilled coolant car tried to start and put out white smoke from tailpipe. Car started barely and was rough running again no warning light showing drove car to mechanic and he said car engine was blown .. so looked on different forums and found that the Ford fusion and Ford escape motors the 1.5 liter was a real lemon and the overheat light warning of low coolant or overheating of engine has had problems for several years on these 2 vehicles that had the 1.5 engine in them .. you can no longer buy the 1.5 because they were so terrible that they quit making them is what I'm being told .. I would like this engine to be recalled for all the problems it has given thousands of people

I believe car is a lemon. Have had the vehicle for only 17 days. I can’t keep calling off work due to non operational vehicle. Randomly and without warning, the entire climate control system shuts off as well as the entire center console. The only message during this period is "temporarily lost communication with climate control". When all this shuts off, the drivers side controls for the windows becomes inoperative as well as the passenger side lock/unlock button. This renders a safety hazard because during times of heat and cold it becomes impossible to run the climate control or roll the windows down for any air movement. Also an extreme hazard is the passenger is unable to unlock the doors in even of an emergency. Occasionally when this happens, the air bag light will illuminate, causing unknown safety hazards in that aspect. I have contacted the dealership and was told it sounds like a potentially faulty computer module, or faulty wiring that could cost thousands to repair. The issue occurs 80% of the time the car is in operation and seems to happen more on hot days where it becomes critical to have air movement/AC.

Dashboard shows "temporarily lost connection with climate system". When displayed, the air conditioning system (cold or heat) works. Other functions on dash board are also unavailable. Windows or door locks do not work. Considerable safety concern for all but especially a vehicle transporting young children and/or infants. Summer heats rise to unbearable to dangerous to deadly if not addressed. Ford apparently has no fix but the issue is well documented amongst Ford owners. Unsure why this isn't a recall option given the nature and number of concerns. any help at all would be appreciated. While I provide today's date that it occurred, i share the problem has been ongoing for several years. It is on and off with the only consistent indication being when it is hot outside.

WE ROLLED IT OUT OF THE GARAGE AND JUMP STARTED IT IN THE DRIVEWAY, THEN LET IT RUN FOR AN HOUR TO RECHARGE THE BATTERY RATHER THAN DRIVING IT BECAUSE OUR POWER STEERING AND ADVANCE TRAC WERE SHOWING FAULT MESSAGES AND IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER THE VEHICLE. THE MESSAGES DIDN'T GO AWAY AFTER WE TURNED IT OFF AND RESTARTED IT. WE EVEN LEFT IT OVERNIGHT AND TRIED THE NEXT MORNING. THEY THEN SUGGESTED TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING WITH THE STEERING WHEEL BEING SO DIFFICULT TO TURN, SO WILL NEED TO HAVE IT TOWED. I ALSO I FEAR I COULD BE EXPENSIVE TO GET THIS FIXED IF FORD DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THIS AS A SERVICE ISSUE. AS I WAS DRIVING OVER 70 MILES PER HOUR ON THE HIGHWAY, THE DOOR AJAR ALERT APPEARED. AT THAT POINT, I REALIZED THAT MY SONS FRIEND HAD OPENED THE DOOR OUT OF CURIOSITY. I TRIED THIS AT VARIOUS SPEEDS IN THE PARKING LOT. I HAVE THREE CHILDREN AND THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. AFTER STOPPING AND PUTTING IT IN PARK I RESTARTED THE ENGINE. CAR IS USUALLY DRIVEN BY 5' 3" DRIVER WITHOUT THIS PROBLEM; BUT I AM 6" 3" AND MY KNEE CONTINUALLY HITS THE IGNITION KEY FOB AS I MOVE MY FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR TO THE BRAKE.
