My transmission was serviced under the cable bushing recall - since then the main complaint is the grinding, loss of power, losing gears etc. the rear camera also fails to function over half of the time. this has been validated by fletcher car care. they said the transmission is now faulty. i have seen this issue repeated throughout the other safety reports on your website. this is an overarching issue that should've been addressed by the manufacturer. there were no warning lamps messages or symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. this car is a safety hazard and it is negligence to allow the issue to persist. the problem was reproduced by the shop, fletcher car care - Fletcher Car Care is an auto repair shop located at 38 Heritage Park Dr, Fletcher, NC 28732 - the issues i believe began when the cable bushing began changing the linkage between the shifter and transmission around march. this was when i started having issues with the rear camera - the rear camera at times is full of artifacts and interference because i believe it is in a intermediate (out of full engagement position)

The transmission lost Park function, shifter position indicates the vehicle is in park. However, the indicator on the instrument panel indicates the vehicle is in drive. This happened after driving the car, and when I parked it. This condition allowed the ignition key to be removed with no instrument panel warning message or warning chime while exiting the vehicle indicating the vehicle is not secured in park. This could result in unintended vehicle movement, increasing the risk of injury or crash. I searched the problem online and found the problem was related a bushing in the end of the transmission selection cable. I was able to find the transmission cable. Upon close inspection, the cable was separated from the selection lever on the transmission. The end of the cable was missing the bushing. There was a safety recall in 2018, 18S20 that dealt with this problem. I had a replacement installed back in 2018. Now I am actually experiencing what the recall was supposed to correct/prevent. Is this recall still in effect? If not, can a new one be issued. I called a dealership, but they stated that the recall had expired.

Unintenional rollaway due to detached and degraded shift cable bushing. My car jerked me into a half spot when I pulled up to work this am. Upon looking, it would not go in gear at all. The gear shift says that it's in park and the dashboard says it's in neutral. Upon opening the hood and examining, I found that the bushing on the transmission cable was broken. I had no way to go so I called the Ford dealership and had someone let me pay over the phone for the part and I sent a coworker to pick up. Then I called a tow truck to tow my vehicle to Total Tire Care in Statesboro Georgia. I am going to have to pay the labor fee and also be without a vehicle all day. There are several 2015 Ford Fusions that have had a recall on this very part - but not my VIN. I think this needs to be changed and I should be able to have the cable inspected and replaced as needed.

The contact stated while driving at approximately 30 MPH, the transmission hesitated to shift into the intended gear; while the vehicle was parked, the vehicle independently moved. She had to pull to the side of the road for several minutes and shut the vehicle off in order for the vehicle to return to normal operation. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to get a diagnosis; the diagnosis was unknown. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The power steer system went out on my car with no warning , the catalytic converter is going out . This car have caused me more problems than a little. The dealership are full so you can’t get any recall done. This is a bad car and should be off the lots. I can’t get reimbursed for no work I put into this car because I didn’t take it to the dealership. This is unfair to me I work very hard for my money. This is about the third complaint I have sent and no one has responded. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND FORDS.

When car shifts gear and car itself will jerk before settling. I had this issue prior to my 60K mile transmission warranty expired and the Ford dealership in Arlington, VA fixed it and stated that a piece in the transmission was broken and cause the transmission to not shift properly. They replaced it and a few years later I am having the same issue. I’ve also had issue where driving the entire electric system would shut off and then reset mid drive but that has only happened twice and that was back in 2018.

Had to have my transmission replaced due to harsh shifting into 2nd & 3rd gear while driving, as well as when you slow down it would down shift in those two gears. Had the transmission replaced, and not even a week later after they also updated the ECU for the transmission, now this transmission that was put in is doing the exact same thing. Now a few weeks later my trunk is randomly opening while I'm driving or while I'm at work, ECT.

2015 Ford Fusion SE was taken in for multiple recalls on 6/14/2023. The recall that caused an issue was 23E03 Powertrain Control Module Reprogramming. After recall was completed, the gear shifter did not want to go in to gear, the gears were not wanting to change, and the times they did change they were shifting erratically. I was then only able to go 5 mph, and unable to make it home. The problem was confirmed by the dealership as they had to retrieve the car and take it back to the dealership to be looked at. When driving the vehicle, they confirmed that the gear shifting was "terrible". The vehicle is at the dealership waiting for the issue to be fixed as of 6/27/2023. There were no warnings or messages displayed at any point.

It started taking more effort to take turns, and my steering wheel did not make a smooth transition back after taking a turn. I brought my car to the Ford dealership, and they ran diagnostics- my car needs the steering column replaced.

The SERVICE ENGINE SOON icon appeared. Three days after, I went to Auto Zone to try to find the issue and the issue was unknown. The day after, the SAFETY ALERT icon appeared and immediately after, the message TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK appeared. The 2015 Ford Fusion Hybrid slowed its acceleration to under 20 mph and upward to 35 mph and returned to under 20 mph. Search with the vehicle's VIN number on NHTSA website, shows that VEHICLE MAY POSSIBLY HAVE A DAMAGED/BROKEN/MISSING TRANSMISSION SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING. This car will randomly shut off while driving at any speed on hot days. The display will say "Transmission not in Park" then the instrument cluster will go dark and the engine shuts off. There is no check engine light and there are no ODB codes presented. I have to wait some amount of time, which varies, before it will turn on again. It has also not turned on from sitting for more than eight hours on two hot days. This is very much a safety issue and searching the Internet I find it is not uncommon with Ford Fusion and Escape vehicles with no discernible solution being presented. My auto shop has looked at the vehicle and replaced the fuel flow sensor but it did not fix the issue. I have replaced the key ignition switch and immobilizer ring and pulled every fuse and cleaned the contacts with no resolution.

On January 1st I left my home to go to a store and noticed the cars shifter had a hard time finding the sport drive and would immediately pop into the regular drive mode. Upon leaving the store my shifter became extremely difficult to move into reverse to pull out of the parking spot. Once I got out of the spot it was even harder to move it into drive. Once it was in drive I drove it back into the parking spot and restarted the car. At this point it was still difficult to put the car into reverse so I figure I would drive the 5 minutes home and figure out what was going on after I got back. Upon getting home I went to put the car into park again and it was stuck in drive even though the shifter indicated the car was in park. I did some research and found there was a recall for certain 2013 - 2016 Ford Fusions because the bushing that connects the shifter cable to the transmission may degrade and break over time. On January 3rd I got the car towed to the dealership for the repairs and found that my car was not covered under this recall (Ford recall # 19S16, NHTSA Recall # 19V362000) as it was not manufactured at one of the locations identified under this recall. The dealership referred me to a corporate representative who told me they could not add my VIN to the recall, however they urged me to contact the NHTSA to see if my VIN could be added to this recall as this is the same issue as outlined within the recall.

The car recently misfired 3 times. I took into get oil change and have the misfire checked into. The misfires started 11/4/21. Car would run rough and then stall out. It would sit for a minute or two and start and run fine. There were no check engine lights or gage to show the car was running hot. I never dreamed it was a cracked cylinder. The Dealer performed EEC test diagnosis and found previous misfies in cylinder 1 in mode 6 of PCM. Found coolant level low, pressure tested cooling system and found that cylinder 1 with coolant intrusion. Short block replacement. I see online that there have been recalls on 2013 -2014 Ford Fusion and other 2013-2015 vehicles for this exact problem of a lack of coolant circulation causing an engine to overheat resulting in a crack in the cylinder head. In these models dealers were installing a coolant level sensor with supporting hardware and software at not charge to customer. Ford dealer is charging me $5,000 for short block replacement, which I feel is a defect of the Ford Engine Design. I purchased by car in Nov. 2014 so it only makes sense that this engine had the 2014 design problem. I declined repairs at that moment, to investigate the problem and asked for my car. The dealer stated they had to put my car back together so it would be about 20 mins. When I got the car back it seems to be running normal like when I took it in, but down the road about 3 miles the car started to sputter and stalled. After sitting a few minutes with flasher on in traffic on a major road, the car would start up and wouldn't go over 15 mph and continued to stall. I called dealer and they gave me the number to the towing company they use. The car was towed back to dealership. The Ford dealer is charging me $5,000 for short block replacement. They did file a complaint with Ford Motor Co. Customer Relationship Center and they stated the dealer had opened a case by no programs in place for assistance. The automatic transmission shifter cable, which connects the shifter knob in the cabin of the vehicle to the shifter lever in the engine which controls the gear selection of the engine (drive, neutral, reverse, park, etc.), degraded and became detached while the vehicle was in operation. This led to a situation in which the shifter knob in the cabin in the car became non-functional and the car was stuck in "drive" regardless of how the shifter knob was adjusted. In my specific case, I used the shifter knob to put the car in "park" but the car continued to move forward under engine power unless the brake or parking brake was applied. This created a dangerous situation where it was assumed the car was in "park" mode when in reality the car would still roll forward under it's own power. This is a known issue and existing recall for many Ford Fusions with a 2.5 L engine. My specific trim level (Ford Fusion Titanium) came equipped with a 2.0 L turbocharged engine which is not included in the existing recalls but was produced at the same facilities as the recalled vehicles and experiences the same exact automatic transmission component failure as is covered by the recall on 2.5 L engines. I have had to pay to have this component repaired (~$100) since this incident occurred in order to get the vehicle safe and operational again.

Safety Recall # 18S20 Shift Cable Bushing was completed by dealer 03/05/2020 during a visit for new tires. There were no symptoms of gear issue at that time. On 7/30/2021 the Shift Cable Bushing (installed per recall) FAILED (less than 15 mths later). After parking car in a parking garage, put the car in "P" Park, the car was turned off, key removed, exited vehicle. The car rolled forward striking the parking garage wall in front of parking spot. Even though the dash & shift indicated the car was in PARK - it was not. No warning on dash. Called AAA that discovered the Shift Cable Bushing was missing causing the Shift Cable to be dislodged. Recall #18S20 was supposed to correct this issue. It did not. The front of my vehicle damaged. Ford redid the recall following day but the car needs auto body work. No response from Ford Corporate, which is in Manila Philippines.

I DROVE TO WORK NO PROBLEMS AND PARKED MY 2015 FUSION 2.0 ECOBOOST. WHEN I LEFT WORK I STARTED THE CAR AND A BILLOW OF WHITE SMOKE ROLLED OUT FROM THE EXHAUST WHEN I PULLED OUT OF MY PARKING SPOT. ON 10/7/2019 I BROUGHT MY CAR IN TO FORT MILL FORD (SC) FOR A TIRE CHANGE AND REGULAR SERVICE. WHEN I CAME TO PICK IT UP ON 10/10/2019, THE CAR WOULD NOT START. UPON ADVISING MY TECH BRITTANY OF THE ISSUE, THEY SENT OUT A TECH TO JUMP START THE CAR THAT WAS JUST SERVICED. WHEN THE CAR WAS JUMP STARTED, AN ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS AT 62000 MILES. I WENT BACK TO MY ADVISER BRITTANY AGAIN AND SHE STATED THAT THE ENGINE LIGHT IS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT AND THAT FORD ACTIVATES THOSE WHEN SEASONS CHANGE AND IS PART OF THEIR SOFTWARE. SHE INSISTED THAT EVERYTHING WAS OK WITH THE CAR AND REFERENCED THE INSPECTION LIST I WAS GIVEN FOR MY 2015 FORD FUSION SE. NOT THREE WEEKS LATER, THE ENGINE LIGHT WENT FROM BEING CONSTANTLY ON, TO FLASHING. THIS ALSO CAUSED AN INTENSE WHITE SMOKE FROM THE EXHAUST AND A STRONG GAS PRESENCE IN THE VEHICLE. WHILE I WAS DRIVING TO WORK, THE ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING AND THE CAR STARTED JERKING ON I-77 HIGHWAY. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO FORT MILL FORD ON 11/18/2019 FOR INSPECTION. THE NEXT DAY, BRITTANY CALLED ME AND SAID THEY FOUND AN ISSUE WITH MY SPARK-PLUG AND THAT IT MIGHT COST ANYWHERE FROM $200 TO $6000.00 TO REPAIR IT. SINCE THE ISSUE WAS NOT CAUSED BY ME I WAS NOT GOING TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE CHARGES AND AFTER WEEKS OF IGNORING ME, FORD MOTOR COMPANY (OFFICE OF ELENA FORD) DECIDED TO GET INVOLVED. DIAGNOSTIC SHOWED COOLANT LEAKED INTO THE ENGINE AND HEAD GASKET NEEDING REPLACING. THE RESULT IS NEEDING A NEW MOTOR. THIS ISSUE SEEMS SIMILAR TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V209000. MY ISSUE SEEMS TO BE RELATED TO THIS RECALL ON THE 2013 AND 2014 FUSIONS. FORD IS PROVIDED $3,000 FOR THE REPAIR DUE TO ME BEING OVER 600 MILES OVER POWER TRAIN. THE RPM REVED UP AND DROPPED DOWN ALONG WITH WRENCH LIGHT AND SEAT BELT LIGHT COMING N. BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP NO CODES STORED TO INDICATE THE ISSUE. WE HAVE A 2015 FORD FUSION SE. WE WERE THE 2ND OWNER AND PURCHASED FROM A DEALERSHIP. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR IT STARTED SOUNDING LIKE FLUID IN THE DASHBOARD AND THE CAR STARTED SHAKING. THEN IT STARTED BLOWING OUT TONS OF WHITE SMOKE OUT THE TAIL PIPE, THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WE PULLED OVER, PARKED CAR. LET SIT AND COOL DOWN. THERE WAS OIL, TRANSMISSION FLUID, AND COOLANT IN THE CAR. WE HAVE DONE ALL OIL CHANGES AND MAINTENANCE REGULARLY. WE HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. AFTER SEVERAL DAYS THEY CAME BACK STATING IT IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND THAT BASICALLY THE CAR SUCKED IN COOLANT THROUGH THE ENGINE AND WAS BURNING (REASON FOR WHITE SMOKE). IT RUINED THE ENGINE. THE MANUFACTURER WARRANTY WAS OVER AT 60K MILES........WE HAVE 65K AND FORD IS REFUSING TO COVER THE ISSUE EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A DEFECT THAT ON THEIR END. ALSO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD WAS REPLACED AT 46K MILES. HOW CAN FORD STATE THAT THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE? WE PAID $16K FOR A CAR WE HAVE HAD BARELY OVER A YEAR AND NOW A PILE OF SCRAP METAL.

ON AUGUST 20TH, 2018 I PREPARED TO PARK MY FORD FUSION SE. I PULLED FORWARD ALIGNING THE CAR WITH THE PARKING SPACE. I PLACED THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION GEAR SHIFT STICK IN REVERSE. I PRESSED ON THE GAS PEDAL. INSTEAD OF THE CAR GOING BACKWARDS IN REVERSE THE CAR MOVED FORWARD AS IN DRIVE. FORTUNATELY THERE WERE NO PEOPLE OR PROPERTY IN FRONT ME. HAD THERE BEEN A PERSON IN FRONT OF ME, MY VEHICLE WOULD HAVE RUN OVER THEM POSSIBLY CAUSING SEVERE INJURY OR DEATH. THE CAR COULD NOT BE DRIVEN AND WAS TOWED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE A MECHANIC STATED THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE BUSHING IN THE TRANSMISSION CABLE THAT HAD TO LEAD TO SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH WEAR TO CAUSE THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER CABLE TO BREAK. FORD PRESENTS THIS AS A BENIGN PROBLEM THAT COULD CAUSE THE CAR TO FAIL TO SHIFT INTO PARK. MY EXPERIENCE WAS THE CAR NOT ONLY FAILED TO SHIFT INTO PARK WHEN I TRIED. MY EXPERIENCE WAS THE CAR WENT IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION FROM THE GEAR I SHIFTED IT INTO. AS STATED THIS HAS THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE DEATH, SEVERE INJURY AND PROPERTY DAMAGE. I PULLED IN TO A PARKING SPACE AND PLACED MY VEHICLE IN PARK, AS I WAS GETTING READY TO EXIT MY CAR THE CAR STARTED TO MOVE FORWARD, I CHECK TO MAKE SURE THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, THE SHIFTER WAS STUCK IN PARK, AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS IN DRIVE. I CHECKED TO ASSURE THE VEHICLE WAS OFF AND REMOVED THE KEY AND PUT THE PARKING BRAKE ON. I WAS PANICKED THAT MY CAR WAS STILL IN MOTION AND COULD HAVE IT HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE, OR A PERSON IN THE PARKING LOT OR MYSELF. WHEN THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER REMOVED THE PARKING BREAK THE CAR WAS STILL OUT OF GEAR AND THE OPEN DOOR KNOCKED HIM OFF BALANCE. THE FORD DEALER FOUND THAT THE BUSHING ON THE SHIFTER CABLE WAS MISSING, AND THE WHOLE SHIFTER CABLE AND BUSHING HAD TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE NO CONFIDENCE THAT THE PARTS PUT ON MY VEHICLE ARE GOING TO LAST. WHEN I ASKED ABOUT THE RECALL, I WAS TOLD THAT THE RECALL WAS NOT IN EFFECT YET, BECAUSE THE PARTS ARE UNAVAILABLE. I PAID FOR THIS OUT OF POCKET. I DID NOT RECEIVE A SAFETY NOTICE AS STATED IN THE NHTSA RECALL #18V-471 REPORT. I BELIEVE THAT FORD IS VERY NEGLIGENT IN NOTIFICATIONS TO THE OWNERS OF THERE VEHICLES. A LETTER TO OWNERS AS STATED IN THE ABOVE REPORT "DESCRIPTION OF REMEDY PROGRAM" IS A SIMPLE THING TO HAVE ISSUED SO PEOPLE ARE SAFE, BEFORE THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE; I DID NOT RECEIVE A LETTER FROM FORD MOTOR CO. FOUND OUT THERE WAS AN OPEN RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE (MANUFACTURER RECALL#18S20). I ALSO REACHED OUT TO FORD MOTORS, WHO ADVISED TO WAIT UNTIL CAR DIAGNOSED AND SEE WHAT REALLY CAUSED THE ISSUE. PER THE AUTONATION FORD DEALERSHIP THAT WORKED ON MY CAR, IT WASN'T THE EXACT SAME CAUSE AS THE RECALL, BUT THE EFFECT WAS THE SAME THAT THE CAR NOT KNOW WHAT GEAR IT WAS ACTUALLY PLACED IN... GEAR SHIFT STOPPED WORKING, BRAKE LIGHTS STOPPED WORKING, THEN ENGINE WOULDN'T START, AS CAR ALREADY THOUGHT IT WAS IN DRIVE. FORD ADVISED IF ISSUE NOT CAUSED BY WHATS IN RECALL THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY. MY RESPONSE WAS "IF SOMETHING ELSE CAUSED THE EXACT SAME ISSUE, SOUNDS LIKE THE RECALL SHOULD BE ADJUSTED TO COVER MORE THAN JUST ONE CABLE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FUSION. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PLACE THE GEAR SHIFTER IN THE PARK POSITION, THE GEAR SHIFTER SEIZED IN REVERSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHIFTER CABLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. LARSON FORD (1150 OCEAN AVE, LAKEWOOD, NJ 08701, (888) 318-8974) WAS NOTIFIED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V471000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.

MY 2015 FORD FUSION HAS DIFFICULTY CHANGING GEARS WHILE DRIVING, SPECIFICALLY SHIFTING FROM FIRST TO SECOND, THEN SECOND TO THIRD. ALSO, ROUGH SHIFTING FROM PARK TO REVERSE WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. THE LATEST INCIDENT WAS WHEN I MOVED THE GEAR SHIFT FROM PARK TO REVERSE AND THE CAR DID NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR. I PUT IT BACK INTO PARK, THEN INTO REVERSE AGAIN AND IT SHIFTED. I DRIVE IT HOME, VERY SLOWLY, AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT MORNING. FORD CORPORATE IS INVOLVED, AFTER FOUR MONTHS OF ME ASKING FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION, AND THEY HAVE NOT INFORMED ME OF A CONCLUSIVE DECISION ON WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO DO. I AM AFRAID FOR MY LIFE TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE, AND HAVE TOLD THE DEALERSHIP AND FORD CORPORATE SO MULTIPLE TIMES. THE CAR ISN'T GENERATING ANY CODES, AND THEY HAVE, SO FAR, REFUSED TO PUT A NEW TRANSMISSION AND ASSOCIATED PARTS IN THE VEHICLE. I DO NOT QUALIFY FOR THE LEMON LAWS IN MY STATE BECAUSE I AM THE SECOND OWNER OF THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER, I PURCHASED IT AS A CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED VEHICLE FROM WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A REPUTABLE DEALER. IN DEALING WITH THIS DEALERSHIP, I HAVE COME TO REALIZE THAT THE DEALER IS WORTHLESS AND SHADY. I'M WORKING WITH ANOTHER DEALER NOW, AND THEY SEEM TO BE A BIT BETTER. FORD CORPORATE IS REFUSING TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ISSUES WITH THIS DEATHTRAP THEY SOLD ME, AND I'M STRUGGLING TO GET OUT OF THE CAR EVEN THOUGH IT'S BEEN IN THE SHOP FIVE TIMES NOW FOR THE SAME ISSUE. MY CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THEY HAVE REPLACED SEVERAL ITEMS, BUT THE CAR DRIVES MORE ROUGHLY AFTER EVERY "REPAIR" ATTEMPT. I WANT OUT OF THIS DEATHTRAP, AND I WANT FORD TO GIVE ME ALL OF MY MONEY BACK THAT I PAID FOR IT. WORD TO THE WISE, DON'T EVER BUY A FORD.

THERE IS A SHIFT LAG BETWEEN 2ND AND 3RD GEAR COLD OR HOT, ESPECIALLY WITH GRADUAL ACCELERATION. FORD REPLACED THE SHIFT SOLENOID, WITH NO IMPROVEMENT. TOOK IT BACK AND THEY SAID THEY RECEIVE AN SSM FORD TO THE EFFECT THAT IT WAS NORMAL TO HAVE THIS ISSUE.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,500.

2015 FORD FUSION- AFTER SITTING FOR SHORT PERIODS OF TIME THE VEHICLE WILL NOT TURN ON UNTIL MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS. THE BATTERY IS GOOD. NO JUMP IS REQUIRED. VEHICLE WILL GO FROM NO POWER ON THE FIRST ATTEMPTED START TO MANAGING TO POWER ON WITHIN A COUPLE OF MINUTES. WHILE IN DRIVE, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT SWITCH GEARS APPROPRIATELY. THE ENGINE WILL REV, PULL, AND THEN SWITCH GEARS VERY ROUGHLY. THIS HAS BEEN LOOKED AT BY A LOCAL MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEMS EVEN THOUGH IT HAS BEEN A CONSISTENT OCCURRENCE. MECHANIC STATED THAT THIS IS COMMON IN NEWER FORDS.

WRENCH LIGHT IS ON ONCE I START THE CAR (STILL IN PARK) IN DRIVEWAY. AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 50 FEET AND I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP ONCE I HIT THE GAS TO ACCELERATE MY CAR DOES NOT GO FORWARD AND IF IT DOES IT WILL SLOWLY JUT FORWARD, REPEATS THIS ACTION OVER AND OVER AGAIN UNTIL CAR IS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED. ONCE CAR IS RESTARTED THE WRENCH LIGHT TURNS OFF. THIS HAS OCCURRED THREE SEPERATE TIMES ABOUT TWO TO THREE MONTHS APART EACH TIME. FORD CLAIMS THEY ARE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN MY VEHICLE. VERY SCARY TO TURN IN FRONT OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC WHEN YOU DON'T KNOW IF YOUR CAR IS GOING TO ACTUALLY ACCELERATE OR NOT.

I PURCHASED THIS CAR FROM SPORT AUTOMOTIVE USED CARS ON OCTOBER 2017. EVER SINCE NOTHING BUT ISSUES. VERY DISSATISFIED WITH THIS VEHICLE. I WAS STILL ABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION EVEN THOUGH IT HAD NOT ENGAGED IN PARK AND TURNED THE CAR OFF. NOW GEAR SHIFTER IS STUCK IN NEUTRAL AND WILL NOT MOVE. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BOGGUS FORD AND THEY SAY THAT PROBLEM IS NOT UNDER POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. FORD RECALLED 2014-2015 FORD FUSIONS FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM ON NOVEMBER 18, 2014 BUT NOW THEY TELL ME THAT MY CAR WAS NOT MADE AT THE PARTICULAR PLANT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL SO MY ISSUE ISN'T COVERED. AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE ATTACHED PHOTO MY KEY IS SITTING ON TOP OF THE STEERING WHEEL WITH THE VEHICLE NOT IN PARK INDICATOR LIGHT ON AND THE VEHICLE OFF.

RECENTLY, WHILE TRAVELING FROM CHICAGO, IL TO LAS VEGAS NEVADA, I EXPERIENCED MECHANICAL ISSUES WITH MY 2015 FORD FUSION. THE CAR BROKE DOWN IN LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, WHERE I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP, DUE TO THE CLOSENESS OF THE WHERE IT BROKE DOWN. THE REPAIR SHOP STATED THAT THEY WOULD NEED A FEW DAYS TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. UNFORTUNATELY, I HAD NO MORE DAYS TO STAY IN VEGAS, AS I NEEDED TO RETURN HOME. THUS, I FLEW BACK TO CHICAGO, AND LEFT MY CAR IN LAS VEGAS, NEVADA IN THE CARE OF THE REPAIR SHOP FOR TESTING AND DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. THE REPAIR SHOP CALLED AND STATED THAT MY CAR NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. THIS BEFUDDLED ME, AS MY CAR WAS JUST BARELY TWO YEARS OLD AND HAS LOW MILEAGE. UPON DOING SOME RESEARCH, I FOUND THAT FORD FUSIONS FROM 2013-2016 HAVE KNOWN MECHANICAL ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND MANY HAVE ALREADY BEEN RECALLED. I CALLED THE FORD CORPORATE OFFICE AFTER THE REPAIR SHOP ADVISED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED REPLACING. I WAS ADVISED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO FRIENDLY FORD, WHERE I AM WAITING FOR THE DIAGNOSIS TO BE COMPLETED. HOWEVER, I WAS ALREADY ADVISED THAT IF IN FACT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, IT WOULD BE TAKE APPROXIMATELY 4-6 WEEKS TO BE COMPLETED. THIS PRESENTS A TREMENDOUS INCONVENIENCE TO ME, AS I AM IN CHICAGO AND MY VEHICLE IS 1800 MILES AWAY FROM ME, ESSENTIALLY USELESS TO MY DAY TO DAY ACTIVITIES WHICH INCLUDE SCHOOL, WORK, DOCTORS' APPOINTMENT ETC. I AM A FULL-TIME STUDENT, AND WORK FULL TIME. UNFORTUNATELY, RECENTLY I HAVE BECOME VERY ILL AND HAVE HAD TO CATCH RIDES TO MY VARIOUS DOCTORS' APPOINTMENTS. GETTING AROUND HAS BEEN SIGNIFICANTLY CHALLENGING WITH NO VEHICLE. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VERY HARD UPON ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION. THE SUSPENSION IS WEAK MAKING THE CAR SEEM AS IF IT'S SINKING ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AND BOUNCES WAY TOO MUCH AS WELL AS THE SWAYING AS THE CAR IS DRIVEN AND HAS WHERE ROLL ON TURNS. THE VEHICLE SITS TOO LOW TO CLEAR ALL DRIVE WAYS AND THE WIPERS DON'T CLEAR THE WINDOWS PROPERLY. THE FRONT WINDOW ALWAYS GETS FOGGY CAUSING THE HEAT OR AC TO BE USED CONSTANTLY.

THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE WIPER AND/OR WINDSHIELD DESIGN - IT IS EXTREMELY HARD TO SEE WHEN IT IS RAINING, EVEN JUST MODERATELY RAINING, AND EVEN WITH THE WIPER SPEED ON HIGH. I CAN'T TELL IF THE WIPERS ARE TOO SLOW, IF THE ANGLE OF THE WINDSHIELD PROMOTES WATER RETENTION, OR IF THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE WIPER MECHANISM DESIGN (INSTEAD OF GOING THE SAME DIRECTION, THE WIPERS START IN THE MIDDLE AND GO SEPARATE DIRECTIONS TO THE OUTSIDE EDGE). FURTHERMORE, EVERY TIME THE WIPERS MAKE A PASS THERE APPEARS TO BE A FILM ON THE GLASS THAT TAKES A FEW SECONDS TO CLEAR ' IT LOOKS SPLOTCHY, AND ISN'T AFFECTED BY TEMP/DEFROST AT ALL. AT NIGHT WHEN PASSING ANOTHER CAR OR UNDER STREET LIGHTS THIS MAKES A TERRIBLE GLARE, AND OF COURSE THE FASTER YOUR WIPERS ARE GOING, THE MORE "FILM" THERE WILL BE BECAUSE THERE'S NO TIME FOR IT TO CLEAR BETWEEN PASSES. I BOUGHT THIS CAR WITH 16 MILES ON IT AND NOTICED IT THE VERY FIRST TIME I HAD TO DRIVE IN THE RAIN (I'M NOW AT 7500 MILES). BETWEEN THE INADEQUATE PREVENTION OF WATER ACCUMULATION AND THE STRANGE FILM, THIS CAR IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IN THE RAIN, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. BEYOND THIS, I HAVE NOTICED FOR QUITE A WHILE THAT THE EXHAUST/MUFFLER MAKES A LOUD VIBRATION NOISE, AND AT TIMES THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VERY HARD WHEN APPLYING BRAKES (DOWNSHIFT) OR WHEN FIRST ACCELERATING.

THIS JOB REQUIRES COMPLETE REMOVAL OF THE ENTIRE INTERIOR. ALSO FORD HAS NOT BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE DEALER OR MYSELF IN 5 DAYS REGARDING THIS ISSUE. ON MORE THAN THREE OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE HAS ABRUPTLY SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING OR COMING TO COMPLETE STOP WHEN THE GEAR WAS IN THE DRIVE POSITION. THIS HAS ALSO OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING OVER 60 MPH ON THE EXPRESSWAY AND IT POSES A GRAVE DANGER AND SAFETY RISK. WHEN THE INCIDENTS OCCURRED THE CONSOLE DISPLAY READ "TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK". AFTER THE FIRST TWO INCIDENTS, THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO ROD BAKER FORD IN JOLIET, ILLINOIS FOR SERVICE (PURCHASE LOCATION). THEY STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM, BUT I BELIEVE THAT THEY DID NOT CONTACT FORD OR TAKE THE NECESSARY STEPS TO FIX THIS SERIOUS DEFECT. MOST RECENTLY ON JUNE 22, 2015, THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE SHUT DOWN WHILE COMING TO A STOP WHEN THE GEAR WAS IN DRIVE......THERE IS A SERIOUS AND POTENTIALLY LIFE-THREATENING DEFECT WITH MY 2015 FORD FUSION AND IT MUST BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED. I RENTED A 2015 FORD FUSION SE4 FOR 2 WEEKS FROM ENTERPRISE RENTAL CAR LOCATION AT 2090 N SR7, HOLLYWOOD, FL 33021, PH.NO. 954-964-9954. DURING THE DRIVE BACK TO ENTERPRISE TO RETURN THE VEHICLE, MY KNEE BRUSHED UP AGAINST THE FOB DANGLING FROM THE KEYED IGNITION SWITCH, THE KEY ROTATED TO THE ACC POSITION FROM THE RUN/ON POSITION AND THE ENGINE STOPPED. I WAS IN DRIVE AT THE TIME, SO I STOPPED THE VEHICLE, PLACED THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER IN PARK AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE. ON ARRIVAL AT ENTERPRISE WHILE STOPPED IN THEIR PARKING LOT WITH FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE TRANSMISSION IN DRIVE, I WAS ABLE WITHOUT ANY DIFFICULTY TO TURN THE IGNITION KEY TO ACCESSORY OR OFF WHILE THE TRANSMISSION WAS STILL IN DRIVE. I DEMONSTRATED THIS SAME PROCEDURE TO THE ENTERPRISE AGENT, BUT FELT THAT NHTSA AND FORD NEED TO KNOW THAT THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE PRIOR TO REPAIRS TO THE IGNITION SWITCH.
