A previously recalled issue has reoccurred in my vehicle. I’d like to report it and understand my options moving forward. My brake light is on and will not go off! Message appearing “hill assist not available”
I was driving on the highway in my car stop going then it start rolling backwards a little then i hit the breaks then put in park in put it back in drive then it started driving again then my brake lights came on and didn’t go off for about a week I have to unhook the battery I have a 8 year old son I was on the way to the hospital because my grand father was on life support when all this took place there was trucks going around us we almost got hit my three car thank god I made it home safe then I got. Home in my car just keep getting load as if I’m hitting the car there’s a load sound it makes when I start it up in i dont feel safe driving it … when out it being check out i really need some one to look at it
I've had recurring issues of brake failure. Thankfully, none of the issues have resulted in fatality, injury or major damage. My most recent issue happened as I was leaving my job. I depressed the brake to put the car in drive and the brake went down almost to the floor. I hesitantly drove the car to an auto shop near my home and was able to have the brakes serviced. I have included that invoice (10.02.24) along with some invoices from previous issues (09.07.17) (04.12.18). There have been recalls made concerning the break line in Ford Fusions that were released around the same time as mine (Recall #23S12). I question if, although my vin number does not show in the recall search, my car should have been included within this recall. I'm concerned and I would like to know if I have any options toward reimbursement for these repairs and/or a complimentary inspection to make sure there is indeed no safety issue that is connected Recall 23S12 or any other Ford brake line recall. Please review this information and follow up at your earliest convenience. Thanks
My first problem is that when i try to accelerate the speed it acts as if it doesn’t want to go above the speed that I’m already going! Also my engine light pops on and off and says it could be a number of things such as my brakes and exhaust. The last problem is that my brake lights will not turn off at all.

1. The Ford dealership in Glendale, CA refused to do the brake pedal recall, but it shows as complete. The car was bought at this dealership and never had work done to the brake pedal. (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID: 23V162000). 2. The car burns oil way quicker than it indicates. This has happened twice to me now where I had to replace the entire engine because I completely ran out of oil before I was due for a change. I check my oil religiously after that because there are no signs of leakage. I checked my oil [XXX] after having my oil changed on [XXX] and its bone dry I have only driven under 3000 miles. I still have over 2000 miles until im suppose to change my oil and its only been 2 months. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Within in the past year I have had to have my entire rear brake system repaired and they keep stating that the emergency park brake is malfunctioning and getting stuck. I have had those parts replaced and now I being told again that the same problem is occurring. There has to be an issue with the brake system that keeps causing this to happen after repairs have been made.

I've already submitted this complaint before and nothing is done by it and investigator investigated this but I'm still continuing to have this problem and Ford will not fix the issue unless I spend thousands of dollars. I am having an issue with the safety airbag system the AC system not working The windows do not work, passenger windows don't work , ac control system doesn't function...
I have taken my car to the shop multiple times for brake issue. Brakes smoking and calibers will not release on rear driver side brakes. I took my car to Marmet Tire paid 380 they said it was was brakes and calibers two weeks later same issue I paid 280 for actuator since problem still not fixed. Next I took to Todd Judy Ford they refused to fix the said Marmet tire needs to fix since they had it first. I took it Ba k to Marmet tire they said I needed a brake hose which they replaced and two days later while me any son was driving on [XXX] the brake pedal went to floor while driving so then Marmet tire contacted Todd Judy Ford Patrick street Charleston WV I took the car there and spent 280 for a brake flush two days later brakes grinding and overheating. Called ford corporation they told me to take back to Ford Patrick Street so I called for appointment advised I need an appointment so I can contact ford corporation for a case number and nobody will call me back just emails for over a week saying someone will be contacting me. The problem is nobody knows how to fix my brake issue and $1000 later my car is still not fixed and I can’t drive it has been 4 months. 2015 Fire Fusion INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
This is car is original under recall 22V011000 as this car registered in Texas, but that recalls goes away and can no longer found in the system. without remedy the recall might put human on risk as indicated in recalls.
July 1 2023 Me and my daughter were driving to go to fireworks and without warning the brakes went out completely. Hose busted on driver side
In April 2023 I received a recall letter, called immediately to set up an appointment to have it fixed. I was told the parts were not available, and to check back in June or July. Memorial Day weekend of 2023 I was driving home, when without warning, the brake line that is recalled had failed.. There was no warning. Thankfully I was able to coast to a stop. The dealership says the parts are not available. How long will this take.?
The power brake booster is driven by a custom Ford bolt driven by the camshaft. This bolt failed with the result that it was extremely hard to stop the vehicle with both feet on the brake pedal. I looked online for advice and found this is a very common failure. Then while trying to get a replacement bolt, every Ford dealer in North America that I contacted has them on back order so this is an extremely common failure.Obviously anyone around one of these vehicles are at risk when this part fails which is very clearly a common occurrence. This happens with no warning at all.
The contact's daughter owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the brake pedal would feel spongy as the brake pedal would depress to the floorboard without warning. The contact then received a recall notice for NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V162000(Service Brakes, Hydraulics) which she linked to her failure. The contact called the dealer and was informed that the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The dealer informed her that despite the failure, they would not be able to service the vehicle until the parts became available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 53,000. VIN tool confirms parts not yet available.
Mileage: 53,000
Rear brakes locked up, causing brake pad, caliper, and rotor failure. All components replaced for left and right side rear. Right rear brakes failed a second time including complete brake failure with brake pedal traveling to the floor, same parts replaced. Third failure on the rear brake with the brake pedal again traveling to the floor rendering the car unsafe. No warning lights at any time. Car was repaired twice by an independent service center. This put ourselves and others at risk to serious injury due to the inability of the vehicle to come to a safe stop.
My car has been losing power and randomly stalling for a while now. Today as I was driving it was happening more and then suddenly my brake pedal became hard as a rock, and the hill assist warning came up. It keeps stalling and will not remain running for longer than 2-3 minutes of being on. This almost caused me to ram several cars due to not being able to stop quickly enough. No lights came on other than check engine and it has not been inspected as this has only happened today. However the stalling of the car has been going on for about 3 months and I’ve been very pregnant and unable to have it looked at. The loss of power in the car happens and sometimes downshift’s extremely hard causing a loud jerk noise from the underside of the vehicle. Once turned off and turned back on it goes right back to normal until it decides to do it again. It can happen a couple of times or it can happen 100 times within a 5 mile period and I never know when it’s going to happen until it’s actually doing it. Extremely dangerous and I’ve seen several 2015 owners posting about issues of the 2015 brake system/bumper etc. I’ve seen recall talk but this site shows no recalls, please get this issue recalled asap!
When I went to stop at a stop sign, the brake pedal went all the way to the floor and the car went partially through the stop sign. I was able to pump the brakes and get relatively solid braking, so I drove the two blocks back to my home. Once home, I pumped the brakes approximately 10 times more and the low fluid light came on, indicating a brake leak. Since the brake reservoir was able to empty in approximately 12 pumps, the leak must be relatively severe. The car is approximately 8 years old, has about 125,000 miles on it, has always been serviced by the dealership. About 2 months ago the brakes were inspected and the rear brake pads and rotors were replaced. Thus, there is no reason for a severe brake leak such as this.
1. Front passenger brake hose split. 2. While driving the brake hose made an audible pop sound and fluid was released. Had I been driving at a high rate of speed (on an interstate) I could have created a multi-vehicle crash, potentially killing other drivers and, or myself. 3. I have a photo of the split hose. 4. I’ve inspected the issue myself and have photo evidence. It was not difficult to find the malfunctioned part. 5. No warning lamps or notices of failure. I’ve owned several cars, some much older than this current ford fusion and never had this issue with the brake hose. This could have been disastrous. I learned today that NHTSA opened a query into this potential issue in August 2022 and am recommending this be continued or reopened for investigation. This is not something to mess with, brake failure can be lethal.
Failed Part: Front left brake hose. While starting the car in a parking lot, I pressed the brake pedal down and the brake pedal kept going to the floor. Threre was a severe loss in breaking performance and the brake warning message appeared and the chimed sounded. There was little breaking performance remaining, So I was able to make it across the street to Firestone Complete Auto Care Store #788339 (Phone number 757 312 8357) to have the the car serviced where the front brake hose on the left side was replaced Retail Invoice number #[XXX]. I should have insisted on replacing the other brake hose during the repair but the service advisor argued that it was not necessary. The mileage on the invoice is incorrect. Ford Motor Company has a Customer Satisfaction Program 22N02 for the same issue. When I scheduled an appointment the service advisor told me the other brake hose would only be inspected and replaced only if leaking. Suddenly loss break pressure, with no warning and no indicator lights. Break fluid was suddenly empty and having it checked earlier in the day and it was fine. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION, I SUDDENLY HAD NO BREAKS, I was just about to get onto the freeway. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED OR KILLED SOMEONE ELSE. Break line, front drivers side failed and I lost all break fluid. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE. WILL THIS HAPPEN AGAIN????
Brake fluid cracked without warning and no alarm
I have lost my brakes twice in the last year. Once on 10/19/21 and once on 09/07/22. The first incident on 10/19/21 I was driving and without warning lost my brakes and fluid was going all over. This was due to a rupture of the front brake flex hose. I live in Roscoe, IL and was visiting my mother in Burlington, WI. Thank goodness, we were driving in her neighborhood when this happened or it could have been devastating. This last incident on 09/07/22 I was pulling out of a parking lot when I noticed that my pedal went all the way to the floor leaving me with no brakes. This incident was the left front brake hose that ruptured. In both of these incidents, my car had to be towed to be repaired. Upon researching these problems, there have been many complaints of both of these same issues for other Ford Fusion owners. Last October after the first incident took place, I notified Ford and asked why some cars were recalled but not mine. All they told me was to save my receipts and maybe I could get reimbursed if my car was ever recalled. My vehicle is serviced per mileage and has never missed an oil change and maintenance check at the Ford dealership. Both of these incidents were not identified as a problem before they had happened and just all of a sudden i was without brakes. I am very thankful that I was not on the interstate or in traffic during either one of these times. Now, I am nervous to even drive my 2015 Ford Titanium and wonder when this will happen again.
As I was driving on 9/10/22 with my 2yr old daughter and the vehicle spontaneously lost pressure in the braking system out of nowhere making my vehicle hard to stop. I contacted my local ford dealership in regards to the matter but was very dissatisfied. A repair shop informed me it was the driver side brake hose.
I have had to replace both brake line twice in the last 7 years. Luckily, I noticed a puddle under the car & then the brake pedal went to the floor. Have been stranded at locations 3 times and the 4th time, I was able to get car home & then towed to shop for repair. I have contacted Ford numerous times about this issue with no resolution. No lights illuminated to warn of low brake fluid or low brake pressure. Even after pedal went to floor, no warning lights.
Spotted another puddle under the car. Took to local shop & told left front caliper is leaking and both front calipers need to be replaced. Also told the cooling line to turbo is leaking & needs to get repaired. Having vehicle towed to dealer as unsafe to drive. When I drove vehicle back from shop, low brake fluid light finally came on. I have also had both brakes lines replaced twice in the last 5 years & transmission replaced. Believe this car may be a lemon.
Brake line delaminated - had to replace after brakes went out completely. Paid out of pocket for repair after tow. Power assist steering stopped working abruptly. Had bolts replaced for earlier recall related to salt in states with winter conditions which could cause this exact issue of the power steering to fail. Hill assist is also not working.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving approximately 25 MPH he attempted to depress the brake pedal and it failed to respond. There were unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle went forward and hit the vehicle in front. There were no air bags deployed. The front passenger side headlight and bumper were destroyed. The police arrived on the scene and filed a report. There were no injuries or medical treatment needed. The contact drove the vehicle to a local repair facility and was currently not repaired. There was no diagnosis of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact related the failure to a manufacturer's recall (22R01) of brake failure from Ford Manufacturer. The approximate mileage of the failure was 64,000.

Brake line failed when pushing brake pedal to shift from park.
Front brake line rupture
While driving the breakline on the left side burst causing the brakes to totally go out.had vehicle towed to a ford dealer where they said the breakline needed replaced due to the linkage busting off. There was no warning lights or warning that this would happen. 2 weeks prior the vehicle was at same ford dealer for other service and no remarks were made by dealer after their 27 point inspection which includes the breaks.wife and 3 year old daughter we're both in the car when this happened as well as others on the road that were at risk of a collision.
Driving on a flat surface coming to a red light. Went to slow down and car would not stop right away. After doing a check around the vehicle I noticed brake fluid was leaking out of front right part of the car. I turned the wheel, had someone press the brake. Saw that the rubber hose was squirting break fluid out. There was no warning of any kind prior to the incident.
I was driving on the freeway in North Carolina and received a Hill Start Assist not available on my dashboard. This was the first time i ever seen this and keep in mind I am on the freeway driving a little over 70 mph, All of a sudden the car started to tug back & slow down a bit but jerk back up to speed. This went on until i was able to get off the freeway. very scary. when I spoke to a mechanic a brake switch needed to be replaced. Currently pending repairs
The brake lights remain on, car started jerking in traffic, no control of car function other than park and drive. Call around dealerships, they either didn't have the part, reschedule me time after time, then I had to wait. Now car is not working
The brake lights stay on permanently, even when the pedal is not pressed, and even when the car is turned off. This is clearly the same problem that Ford recalled these Fusions for in other states.
In August 2019 I reported to Ford that the brake lights were staying on all the time even when the car was shut off. I was still able to drive my car (Ford Fusion Hybrid 2015) to the Ford Dealer Ship in Sarasota. I was told they have to keep the car because it's a danger and not legal to drive with that kind of defect of my brake lights. I had to pay $ 1115.24 for the repair of the car . Ford had to replace the brake pedal assembly. My car was in the shop for a month. They also replaced the steering wheel bolt which was a recall 18S08. In my opinion I paid for a repair that is now a recall. Will I be able to get my money back and a compensation for not having a car for 1 month provided we are talking here about the same issue?
At approximately 80,000 miles, the abs censor came on, along with three other lights, one of which is traction control. The brakes begin acting out of control and power steering goes out. Mechanic came to look at it and told me that he’s seen a lot of the same problems with Ford vehicles, specifically fusions and fiestas. He told me it’s an ABS sensor in the electrical harness.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the brake pedal depressed to the floorboard without warning. Despite the failure, the contact was able to drive at low rate of speed with her hazard light activated. As the contact approached her destination, the low brake fluid warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact pulled into a gas station and topped off the brake fluid reservoir however, the brake pedal continued to depress to the floorboard. Once the contact arrived home, she checked the brake fluid level and saw that the reservoir was empty once again. Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to a dealer where she was informed that her vehicle was not under recall and was given an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and she was given the same information as the dealer. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
Brake Failure/ Right side passenger side brake hose failed. Heard a loud pop while having my foot on the brake. Went to start driving again and when I pressed my foot on the brake I couldn't stop. I had lost all braking. Brake fluid poured out and had to use the Emergency brake when getting towed to stop.
BLUF: Safety issue related to the brake sensor pad failing, resulting in unpredictable engine performance. On 02JUL21, I went to eat lunch and parked my car as normal. When I returned to my car, I noticed that my brake lights were still on, despite the engine being off and me being away from the car for 30 minutes. At the time, i assumed that I must have bumped the key fob buttons, and did not overthink it. However, as I drove the vehicle, I noticed significant loss of engine power as I sped up. As in, I would attempt to accelerate (normal rate, not aggressive), and at some random point, the engine would lose power (as though in limp mode), and would not respond to further throttle input. This could be resolved by lifting my foot completely off the gas pedal and reapplying pressure. Then I would accelerate again for approx. 2-3 seconds, then encounter another loss of power (and corresponding loss of speed). As a result, my speed on the road was unpredictable, as the car was not responding to my throttle inputs properly. After a nerve-wracking drive like this, I attempted to troubleshoot the car, and found that the spacer/bearing pad that the brake sensor bears on had fractured into pieces and was no longer functioning. It appears that the car's computer believed that the brakes were being applied when they were not, and so the computer was putting the car into some sort of reduced power mode, but not giving any check engine light warnings or similar notifications (I checked with an OBD reader, no codes given). Ford does not sell a replacement part for this pad, so I have rigged up a short-term alternative, but I am concerned that if it, too, fails - or for anyone else encountering this problem - the erratic speed and inability to control the car will result in a traffic accident.
I FOUND LITTLE LIGHT YELLOW PLASTIC UNDER MY RUG AFTER NOT KNOWING WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MY CAR THE BACK LIGHT BRAKE LIGHT WON'T TURN OFF IT'S A LITTLE BUTTON THAT CONTROL THE BRAKES NOW MY BACK LIGHT WON'T TURN OFFF I HAVE TO TAKE THE FUSE OUT AND MY CAR WON'T GO PAST 45-50 MPH BEFORE IT STARTS STALLING. THE YELLOW PLASTIC I CANNOT FIND ANY WHERE. WHAT KEEPS POPPING UP IS HILL START NOT AVAILABLE AS WELL

FLEXIBLE BRAKE LINE RUPTURED AND CAUSED CATASTROPHIC LOSS OF BRAKES (THURS, MAR 18, 2021). SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED - FIRST TIME WAS ABOUT 15-18 MONTHS AGO - ALSO REPORTED. WHILE PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE (LESS THAN 5 MPH) I HEARD A CLANK/POP SOUND. WHEN I THEN APPLIED MY BRAKES THEY SUNK TO THE FLOOR AND BARELY STOPPED THE CAR. I HAD NO BRAKES. BRAKE FLUID THEN STARTED TO PUDDLE UNDER THE FRONT PASSENGERS SIDE WHEEL AND ON INSPECTION I NOTICED THE BRAKE FLUID DRIPPING FROM THE BRAKE LINE. I HAVE BEEN CURRENT WITH ALL MY CAR MAINTENANCE AND THERE WAS NEVER A MENTION OF ANY ISSUE WITH THE BREAK LINES. I HAD THIS CAR TOWED AND UPON INSPECTION BY A MECHANIC IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE BRAKE LINES WERE ALSO BULGING AND NEEDED REPLACING. THE FRONT BRAKE LINES GOING FROM THE CALIPER TO THE MAIN BRAKE LINE FITTING, ARE THE PARTS THAT WERE BAD. I HAVE ATTACHED PICTURES AND NOTES FROM THE MECHANIC. I HAVE A LINK I CAN SHARE AS WELL AS AN INVOICE IF NEEDED. I DID NOT SHARE CURRENTLY SINCE IT STATES NOT TO PUT PERSONAL INFORMATION ON HERE.

TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH WITH SUDDEN IMMEDIATE INABILITY TO MAINTAIN SPEED (LOSS OF POWER/ACCELERATION). VEHICLE NOT RESPONSIVE TO ACCELERATION REQUEST UNTIL BELOW 45 MPH AND BEHAVES ERRATICALLY (JUST STOPS RESPONDING AND CAR SLOWS). NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND CAR OTHERWISE RUNS NORMALLY. ACCOMPANYING BEHAVIORS: BRAKE LIGHTS ARE CONSTANTLY ILLUMINATED (STUCK ON), EVEN WHEN NOT BRAKING AND ALSO WHEN CAR IS TURNED OFF AND KEY REMOVED. INTERMITTENTLY WHEN CAR IS STOPPED, MESSAGE "HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE" IS SHOWN. TOOK CAR INTO FORD DEALERSHIP WHO DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AND "FOUND BRAKE SWITCH ENGAGEMENT BUSHING MISSING FROM BRAKE PEDAL" AND OFFERED TO REPLACE THE "BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY" AT A COST OF $1,062.35. FOUND SEVERAL FORUMS COMPLAINING OF THE SAME EXACT BEHAVIORS AND NOTING THAT THE OEM "BRAKE PEDAL STOP PAD" HAD BROKEN INTO PIECES. I ALSO REMEMBERED VACUUMING UP SOME PLASTIC PIECES FROM THE DRIVER FRONT FLOOR AREA NOT REALIZING WHERE THEY HAD COME FROM. THE "BRAKE PEDAL STOP PAD" ITSELF WHICH WOULD COST LESS THAN $5.00 IS NOT OFFERED BY FORD, SO PEOPLE ARE FINDING ALTERNATIVES WHICH MAY BE UNSAFE AND INCLUDE: "BRAKE PEDAL STOP PAD" NOT DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS VEHICLE, ZIP TIES, AND EVEN MAGNETS! I WAS IN THE DRIVE THRU OF A FAST FOOD RESTAURANT. WHEN I WENT TO PRESS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, IT HAD NO PRESSURE BEHIND IT, AND I WAS JUST BARELY ABLE TO STOP THE CAR. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR INTO A NEARBY PARKING LOT. I WAS JUST BARELY ABLE TO STOP THE CAR USING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. MY CAR THEN SHOWED A LOW BRAKE FLUID WARNING ON THE DASH. SO I OPENED THE HOOD AND SAW THAT THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR WAS COMPLETELY EMPTY. I HAD A FAMILY MEMBER COME PICK ME UP AND DRIVE ME HOME. I LATER CAME BACK WITH A BOTTLE OF BRAKE FLUID SO THAT I COULD TRY AND FIND THE LEAK. I DISCOVERED THAT THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT BRAKE LINE HAS BEEN BLOWN OPEN, AND WAS LEAKING BRAKE FLUID AT A SUBSTANTIAL RATE. MY CAR IS STILL SITTING IN THIS PARKING LOT , AND I AM CURRENTLY MAKING PLANS TO HAVE IT TOWED TO A MECHANIC.

IN JUNE 2020, WHILE DRIVING AND BRAKING FOR STOP SIGNS AND TRAFFIC LIGHTS, BRAKE PEDAL STARTED TO GET A LITTLE MUSHY, THEN THE NEXT TIME I STEPPED ON BRAKE I HEARD/FELT A "POP" AND BRAKES WERE FAILING AND BRAKE FLUID LIGHT CAME ON. I PULLED OFF AND A MECHANIC SAW THAT THE LEFT BRAKE LINE WAS BROKEN, UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND WOULD NEED REPLACING. TODAY AUG 19, 2020, AS I WAS STEPPING ON BRAKE TO SHIFT INTO GEAR, I HEARD THAT SAME "POP", MY BRAKE PEDAL WENT DOWN VERY FAST. I INSPECTED CAR AND FOUND BRAKE FLUID SPRAYED ALL OVER RIGHT FRONT WHEEL WELL AND BRAKE LINE WAS BROKEN, MAKING IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I AM VERY THANKFUL THIS DID NOT HAPPEN YESTERDAY WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY AND ALL OVER CITY STREETS AND UP AND DOWN HILLS. I HAVE REPAIR INVOICES FOR BOTH OCCURRENCES IN JUNE AND AUG, BUT AM UNABLE TO SCAN AND ATTACH AT THIS TIME.

THE CAR WAS PARKED IN A LOT. I STARTED IT, PUT IT IN REVERSE, AND THE CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING MESSAGE CAME UP. THE BRAKES MADE A LOUD METALLIC SCREECHING SOUND WHEN I BEGAN BACKING. WHEN I TRIED TO APPLY THE BRAKE, IT WAS SLUGGISH AND DIFFICULT TO STOP THE VEHICLE. I HAD IT TOWED TO A NEARBY FORD DEALERSHIP, WHERE THEY REPLACED A BRAKE SWITCH. NINE DAYS LATER, THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED, THIS TIME AT MY HOME. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO MY MECHANIC (NOT THE FORD HOUSE), WHO FOUND A CODE IN HISTORY INDICATING THAT THE PROBLEM HAD A TECHNICIAN NOTICE THAT STATES TO REPLACE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER. HE COULD NOT MAKE THE CAR DUPLICATE THE ISSUE AFTER CLEARING THE CODES, SO I CHOSE NOT TO REPLACE IT. THIS PART AND REPAIR WILL BE OVER $800! WHEN MY MECHANIC CALLED THE FORD HOUSE TO FIND THE CODE THEY USED TO DETERMINE THAT A BRAKE SWITCH WAS OUT, HE WAS TOLD THEY DID NOT MAKE A NOTE OF THE CODE. MY MECHANIC WENT ON TO TELL ME THAT I SHOULD STILL HAVE BRAKES IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN, BUT THEY WILL NOT BE ASSISTED BY THE BOOSTER AND WILL REQUIRE LONGER DISTANCES TO STOP. SINCE THERE IS A TECHNICIAN'S SAFETY ALERT ALREADY POSTED, THIS HAS TO HAVE OCCURRED ON OTHER VEHICLES, SO THERE SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL TO REPLACE THIS BOOSTER. FORD DID CHANGE THE BOOSTER USED THE YEAR AFTER MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED. I ALSO WONDER IF THE FORD HOUSE REPLACED A BRAKE SWITCH THAT WAS ACTUALLY FUNCTIONING PROPERLY WHEN THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE THE BOOSTER. SINCE WE HAVE NO CODE TO REFER TO, WE WILL NEVER KNOW. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE DRIVER'S SIDE BRAKE LINE MALFUNCTIONED. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS VERY LOOSE AND TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO A PARKING LOT AND BUMP AGAINST A CURB TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPAIRED THE DRIVER'S SIDE BRAKE LINE THAT WAS LEAKING BRAKE FLUID. THE FAILURE RECURRED WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE LINE, WHICH WAS ALSO REPAIRED BY THE SAME MECHANIC. IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE MECHANIC CHANGED A COIL PACK ON CYLINDER NUMBER FOUR ON THE ENGINE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED THE FOLLOWING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE SHOOK AND EXCESSIVE SMOKE POURED OUT OF THE EXHAUST PIPE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RIVERSIDE FORD (2089 RIVERSIDE DR, MACON, GA 31204, (478) 464-2900) WHERE THEY CHANGED A SPARK PLUG ON CYLINDER NUMBER FOUR. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER FOUND COOLANT IN THE ENGINE WITH THE FLUID ENTERING THROUGH THE CYLINDER NUMBER FOUR BLOCK. THE DEALER QUOTED THE COST TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE ENGINE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THE CONTACT RESEARCHED THE FAILURE AND FOUND THAT IT OCCURRED MANY TIMES WITH A POSSIBLE ENGINE DESIGN CRACK. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT ASSIST AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED MULTIPLE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE LOST POWER INDEPENDENTLY AND THE BRAKE PEDAL FAILED TO ENGAGE WHILE DRIVING. ALSO, AFTER FUELING THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE FAILED TO START. FURTHERMORE, WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ELK GROVE FORD (9645 AUTO CENTER DRIVE, ELK GROVE, CA 95757, (916) 478-7000) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID PENETRATED THE BRAKE FLUID. THE BRAKE LINES, CALIPERS, AND THE BATTERY WERE REPLACED TWICE; HOWEVER, THE REPAIRS DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURES AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

ACTUALLY THIS HAPPENED TO ME TWICE. I WAS PARKED AND WHEN I TOUCHED THE BRAKES TO GO INTO REVERSE BUT THEY WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I CALLED AAA TO TOW MY VEHICLE. THE 2ND TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS 5 MIN FROM MY HOUSE. AGAIN I WAS PARKED AT THE KIDS GAME AND WHEN I PRESSED THE BRAKES IT MADE ME THINK ABOUT THE 1ST EXPERIENCE. HOWEVER IT HAD A LITTLE PRESSURE BEHIND THE BRAKES AND I WAS ABLE TO PUMP MY BRAKES TO ENGAGE THEM THEREBY MAKING IT HOME. A FRIEND CAME OVER ADDED BRAKE FLUID AND I WAS SURPRISED THAT IT WAS TAKING ALL THE FLUID. TO MY SURPRISE ALL OF THE BRAKE FLUID WAS COMING OUT ON THE GROUND. BOTH TIMES THE DEALER CLAIMED THEY WERE NOT AWARE OF AN ISSUE WITH THE BRAKES AND AM RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF THE REPAIRS IF IT'S NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY.

ANTILOCK BRAKE VACUUM PUMP FAILED WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREET AT 40-45 MPH. ALMOST CAUSED SERIOUS ACCIDENT. BRAKE PUMP FAILURE CAUSED CAMSHAFT FAILURE AND A BEARING TO FALL APART AND PUT METAL SHAVINGS INTO ENGINE. NOW ENGINE, PER DEALERSHIP, WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED.

ON WEDNESDAY JULY 3, 2019, I NOTICED WHEN I GOT INTO MY CAR IN THE MORNING THAT MY BRAKE PEDAL SEEMED SOFT AND I HAD TO PUSH IT ALMOST ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR TO MAKE MY BRAKES WORK. I LEFT FOR A TRIP THAT AFTERNOON DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 160 MILES ON THE HIGHWAY, AND THE BRAKE SOFTNESS REMAINED THE SAME FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS. HOWEVER, ON THE TRIP BACK ON 7/7/2019, WHEN SITTING IN A DRIVE-THRU, MY BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON THE DASH AND A WARNING ABOUT MY BRAKE FLUID BEING LOW CAME ON THE SCREEN. I HAD VIRTUALLY NO BRAKE POWER, AND EVEN WHEN I PUSHED THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR MY CAR WAS STILL CREEPING FORWARD. I MANAGED TO DRIVE TO AN AUTO PARTS STORE WHERE I PURCHASED SOME BRAKE FLUID. THIS MADE THE WARNING GO AWAY, BUT THE BRAKES WERE STILL BARELY FUNCTIONAL. I MADE IT HOME, AND NOTICED FLUID LEAKING FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY CAR AND ALL OVER THE FRONT PASSENGER WHEEL. I TOOK THE CAR TO A REPAIR SHOP THE NEXT DAY (7/8/2019) WHERE THEY FOUND THAT ONE BRAKE LINE HAD BURST ON THE FRONT PASSENGER WHEEL, AND THE BRAKE LINE ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S WHEEL WAS ABOUT TO BURST. BOTH BRAKE LINES HAD TO BE REPLACED.

I WAS PARKED WITH MY VEHICLE OFF. WHEN I TURNED ON MY VEHICLE AND PUT IT IN REVERSE TO BACK OUT OF MY PARKING SPOT I HEARD A SMALL POP AND THE BRAKE PEDAL HAD A LOT MORE "GIVE" TO IT. I WAS ABLE TO PUSH IT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. WHILE DRIVING, I HAD TO PUSH IT TO THE FLOOR TO SLOW MY VEHICLE. I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY MAKE IT TO MY MECHANIC WHO LUCKILY WAS ONLY 1 MILE AWAY. HE TOLD ME THE FRONT RIGHT BRAKE LINE WAS RUPTURED AND THAT THIS IS ALMOST UNHEARD OF IN A CAR THAT'S ONLY 4 YEARS OLD.

WHILE MY WIFE WAS IN A DRIVE THRU MOVING FORWARD SLOWLY SHE REPORTED THAT THE RAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED ALL OF THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND HAD A HARD TIME STOPPING THE CAR. WIFE INSPECTED BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR AND FOUND IT TO BE COMPLETELY BONE DRY. DEALERSHIP FOUND THE RIGHT FRONT BRAKE LINE TO HAVE FAILED CAUSING ALL OF THE FLUID TO LEAK OUT AND THE BRAKES TO FAIL. DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER AND DOES NOT KNOW WHEN IT WILL BE AVAILABLE LEAVING ME ASSED OUT. ALSO THIS PART IS NOT COVERED UNDER OUR EXTENDED PREMIUM FORD WARRANTY . I HAVE RESEARCHED DIFFERENT ONLINE FORUMS AND HAVE FOUND MULTIPLE PEOPLE WITH THE EXACT SAME PROBLEMS WITH SOME THAT WERE TRAVELING AT A MUCH HIGHER RATES OF SPEED. I THINK THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED BEFORE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT OCCURS .

BACK ON 2/24/2019 I WAS BEHIND A VEHICLE THAT HAD TO SLAM IN THEIR BRAKES. I IMMEDIATELY SLAMMED ON MY BRAKES AND THE PEADLE WENT TO THE FLOOR. I TOOK MY CAR TO PLANET FORD AND WAS TOLD THAT MY RIGHT FRONT BRAKE HOSE HAD A WEAK SPOT IN THE LINE AND BUSTED. THE ONLY EXPLANATION WAS DUE TO AGE? AT THE TIME THE CAR WAS 4 YEARS OLD AND ONLY 61,000 MILES! THE CAUSED ME TO HAVE A WRECK AND COSTING I'VE $3,500? THIS HAPPENED IN SPRING, TX.
DRIVING DOWN CTTY STREET WHEN THE CAR BREAKS, WHEN APPLIED, WOULD NOT DEPRESS AND CAR WOULD NOT STOP ADEQUATELY. BREAK PEDAL VERY FIRM TO TOUCH.. IT WOULD TAKE EVERY OUNCE OF STRENGTH APPLIED JUST TO GET THE CAR TO STOP AND IN MOST CASES, FURTHER DOWN ROAD OR INTO INTERSECTION THAN EXPECTED.
Mileage: 65,900
WHILE THE CAR WAS SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY I NOTICED THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ON. UPON INSPECTION, THE SILCONE RUBBER PAD THAT CUSHIONS THE BRAKE PEDAL FROM THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH HAD BECOME BRITTLE AND BROKE APART. THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH NOW DOES NOT DEPRESS FAR ENOUGH TO ACTUATE THE BRAKE LIGHTS AND THEY ARE STUCK IN THE ON POSITION.

THE CONTACT DROVE TO A NEARBY PARKING LOT AND NOTICED THAT THE BRAKE FLUID LOW WARNING MESSAGE WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ABLE TO BE DRIVEN AND WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE LINES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT CALLED WORLD FORD PENSACOLA (LOCATED AT 6397 PENSACOLA BLVD, PENSACOLA, FL 32505, (850) 476-9050) TO NOTIFY THEM OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. OPERATING UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS VEHICLE BRAKE PADDLE DROPPED TO THE FLOOR WHEN STOPPING AT AN INTERSECTION AND VEHICLE TOOK LONGER THEN EXPECTED TO STOP. STOPPING AT AN INTERSECTION VEHICLE ROLLED INTO INTERSECTION. I WAS ABLE TO LAY ON THE HORN TO ALERT OTHER DRIVERS AND PUT ON HAZARD LIGHTS. AFTER ROLL AT A STOP I BACKED UP SLOWLY OUT OF INTERSECTION AND HEARD BRAKES CRANKING AS PADDLE WAS DEPRESSED. AFTER PULLING OVER SAFELY DISCOVERED RUPTURED BRAKE LINE TO FORWARD LEFT HAND WHEEL AND BRAKE FLUID SPRAYED ON IN SIDE OF WHEEL WELL. AFTER TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP THE SERVICE MANGER CLAIMED HE HAS SEEN MULTIPLE FUSIONS, FOUCS AND ESCAPES WITH SIMULAR ISSUES AND SAYS THIS IS NORMAL WEAR. I TOLD HIM I WANT THE REMOVED PARTS AND WILL HOLD THEM IF NEEDED FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION.

UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS ON A SUNDAY EVENING I BEGAN TO NOTICE A DECREASE IN BRAKE PRESSURE AND FEEL. AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT I THEN NOTICED THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD BEGIN TO DEPRESS TOWARD THE FLOOR WITHOUT AN INCREASE IN FORCE TO DEPRESS THE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE LATER THAT EVENING REPORTED LOW BRAKE FLUID. I RETURNED THE VEHICLE HOME TO THE GARAGE WITH THE INTENT OF SERVICING THE VEHICLE MONDAY. ON MONDAY I DROVE OUT OF THE GARAGE AND NOTICED A PUDDLE OF BRAKE FLUID ON THE FLOOR AT THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL POSITION. I RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE GARAGE AND PERFORMED A VISUAL INSPECTION AND IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM OF A SPLIT IN THE RUBBER BRAKE LINE.

I HAD TO REPLACE THE FRONT PASSENGER BRAKE LINE IN 2017 DUE TO A LEAK. LESS THAN A YEAR LATER, JULY 2018, THE SAME THING HAPPENED AND I HAD TO REPLACE THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT BRAKE LINE DUE TO A LEAK. I REALIZED THERE WAS AN ISSUE WHEN I WAS DRIVING & THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. ONLY AFTER ABOUT 15 MINUTES DID THE LOW BRAKE FLUID LIGHT COME ON AFTER EACH OCCURRENCE. I HAD MY CAR AT THE DEALER LAST WEEK FOR A RECALL REPAIR AND OVERHEAR ANOTHER CUSTOMER WITH A 2015 FUSION SAY SHE HAD A BRAKE LINE LEAK.

TAKATA RECALL BRAKES WENT OUT IN CAR AND FORD DEALER SHIP HAD CAR 1 WEEK BEFORE FIXING ISSUE. GOT CAR BACK AND THE NEXT DAY THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER WENT OUT. MY CAR WAS PART OF THE RECALL FOR THE BUSHING CABLE BUT WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP WHO WAS TOLD BY THE SPECIALTY GROUP AT FORD THAT IT WAS NOT AN ACTUAL RECALL SO I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS UPFRONT UNTIL IT BECAME A LEGITIMATE RECALL AND THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. I EVEN HAD MY CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT THE COST WOULD BE COVERED BY FORD SINCE IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE RECALL BUT NOW AFTER SPEAKING TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT IS NOT A GUARANTEE NOR IS THE RENTAL CAR THAT I AM HAVING TO USE SINCE MY CAR IS DOWN DUE TO THE RECALL. I FILED A PREVIOUS COMPLAINT REGARDING THE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING GOING OUT BUT THIS COMPLAINT IS IN REGARDS TO FORD NOT HAVING THE BUSHING OR THE SHIFTER CABLE TO FIX MY CAR EVEN THOUGH I WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD BE FIXED IN A COUPLE OF DAYS, I WOULD PAY FOR THE REPAIRS THEN THEY WOULD REIMBURSE ME ONCE IT BECAME AN ACTUAL RECALL. I AM NOT REFUSING THE REPAIRS BUT CAN NOT WAIT A MONTH FOR THE PARTS TO COME IN NOR CAN I AFFORD A BILL FOR OVER $500 THAT WAS PART OF A RECALL THAT FORD ISSUED BUT IS NOW SAYING IS NOT AN ACTUAL RECALL. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO? I AM GOING TO GO GET MY CAR AND HAVE A MORE RELIABLE FIGURE FIX MY CAR AND PROCEED FROM THERE. ALSO NOW I AM OUT A TOW BILL AND $35 FOR 3 DAYS ON A RENTAL SINCE FORD DID NOT DO WHAT THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO STATED ON THEIR DECLAIMER THAT DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING AT NO COST TO THE CUSTOMER EXCEPT THIS CUSTOMER. THIS WAS ON THEIR FORD MEDIA WEBSITE.
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AFTER EXITING THE FREEWAY FROM A 45 MINUTE DRIVE AT 70 MPH. BRAKES NEEDED MORE PRESSURE THAN NORMAL TO SLOW AND STOP THE CAR. ONCE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP AND WITHOUT APPLYING ANY ADDITIONAL PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL THE PEDAL BECAME SPONGEY AND MOVED COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR. I SHIFTED THE VEHICLE TO PARK AND TRIED THE BRAKES AGAIN, THIS TIME IT FELT OK. I CONTINUED DRIVING AND THE PEDAL CONTINUED TO DO THIS OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I PULLED INTO A AUTO PARTS STORE AND CHECKED THE BRAKE FLUID, THE RESERVOIR WAS NOT SHOWING ANY FLUID. I PROCEEDED INTO THE STORE PURCHASED ADDITIONAL BRAKE FLUID AND TOPPED OFF THE BRAKE FLUID. UPON GETTING BACK IN THE VEHICLE I TRIED THE BRAKES SEVERAL TIMES AND COULD NOT GET A FIRM PEDAL. I GOT BACK OUT OF THE CAR AND INSPECTED EACH OF THE WHEEL AREAS. UPON REACHING THE RIGHT FRONT I FOUND BRAKE FLUID RUNNING OUT FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. AFTER CLOSER INSPECTION THE FLEX LINE TO THE CALIPER HAD FAILED AND WAS SPRAYING BRAKE FLUID WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS PRESSED AND SUCKING AIR INTO THE SYSTEM WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS RELEASED. THIS ENTIRE TIME THE CAR NEVER REPORTED HAVING ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES. THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A WARNING LIGHT THAT THE BRAKE FLUID WAS LOW. ADDITIONALLY, THIS CAR ONLY HAS 47,000 MILES ON IT, THIS LINE SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED THIS SOON.

AFTER PUTTING IT BACK TOGETHER ANSLD BOOSTING MY CAR I THEN HAD A SOFT BRAKE AND THE PEDAL WOULD NOT ENGAGE UNTIL EXTREMELY FAR DOWN, I HAVE SHOP HAS BLED THE SYSTEM NUMEROUS TIMES CHANGED THE MASTER CYLINDER AND STILL NOTHING. I WAS TOLD IT COULD,BE A CALIPER DOING,THIS AND IALSO,SEEN ONLINE IT COULD BE THE ABS MOD.
