On November 9th, the vehicle became undrivable with the following alerts: "Stop safely now", "Pre-collision assist not available", "Check Brake System", "Front Camera Temporarily not available", "service vehicle soon", "service advance trac", "hill start assist not available" The accelerator was non-functional; however, when releasing the brake pedal the vehicle starts to accelerate, without pressing the accelerator. Dealer said they are unable to reproduce the event. This is the second time this has occurred with this vehicle, previously submitted complaint on this same VIN.
While driving on the freeway complete loss of power, loud sound, visible smoke. Determined by the dealer that an internal engine part failed.
While driving on onramp to the interstate the engine shut down and warning came on pull over now. All power was lost. The APP showed power train fuel control module could not connect. I tried to restart but had no power. On 6/16/2025 I took the vehicle in for repair (could not get appointment). It was returned (could not duplicate problem). On my way home it happened again engine lost power while driving. The vehicle was brought back to Ford. This time it was returned 6/25/2025.
The contact owns a 2024 Ford Maverick. The contact stated that while driving up a hill at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while driving 70 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power without warning and stalled. The contact was able to coast to the side of the road. The vehicle restarted independently. The contact stated that several days later, while driving 70 MPH, the vehicle stalled and restarted independently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic; however, no cause for the failure was found. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not yet been diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 7,500.

This is the 3rd of 4th time this has happened since owning this truck. While driving at freeway speeds I would lose acceleration. I would step on the gas pedal and nothing would happen. I would have to coast to the side or middle of the freeway. June 11th 2025 around 8am while doing 75 in the HOV lane I lost acceleration and had to stop in the median. After coasting to a stop I would turn off the car and wait about 30 sec then turn car back on. Then continue without furture issues. I took a video of issue but could not upload a .MOV
On April 5th, 2025 I was driving about 20-30 mph and braking down a slight hill. When I went to accelerate up the other side of the hill the vehicle would not accelerate while pushing on the throttle. There were no check engine lights or errors while the vehicle would not accelerate. I pulled over to the side of the road and turned the vehicle off. Upon restarting the vehicle it appeared to function normally and continued driving for about an hour home. I have not reported the incident to Ford or the dealer.
The vehicle is 9 month old with less than 12,000 miles. Factory battery repeatedly entered "deep sleep" mode, disabling vehicle remote features and failed to start the engine. Battery test showed sulfation and can no longer function as designed.
The contact owns a 2024 Ford Maverick. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V684000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the rearview camera displayed a distorted image while the vehicle was in reverse(R). The contact stated that the failure obstructed the driver's visibility which prevented the driver from safely operating the vehicle. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were also illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while stopped at a traffic light after the hybrid battery turned on, the engine revved independently. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

On 1/19/2025 I was driving on the freeway with with the cruise control on, going about 72mph. When out of nowhere my cruise control was automatically canceled, and I lost all power to my acceleration pedal. I would push down and would get no response from the engine. I had to slowly drift my car to the shoulder of the road to come to a stop. Luckily the power was still going to the brakes. I turned off my vehicle and turned it back on. After that the acceleration started working again. My vehicle only has 8600 miles.
Water inside engine. On December 18, 2024 the fist vehicle oil change attempted at 9800 miles at independent oil change vender. Upon removal of oil cap the technician noticed a milky white residue on cap as well as inside valve cover. Technician indicated that this was evidence of water inside engine. Oil change was canceled and picture of the residue on the oil cap was sent to the dealership. The dealership communicated that this was a normal issue and that there should be no concern. Oil was subsequently changed by the independent vendor.
Shortly after starting the vehicle and stopping at a stop light after driving approximately 50 yards, the vehicle jerks, feels like engine/drivetrain is shuddering, and attempts to lurch forward. To stop it I have to apply additonal pressure to the brakes. This has occurred 4 times that I detected after driving on a daily basis since 12/20/24 (when vehicle was purchased) and today 01/01/25. I have not contacted the dealership about this issue yet. There have been no warning lamps, messages or other related symptoms that I have detected.
lost acceleration function on freeway, no error code or warning sound. I didn't lose power just wasn't able to accelerate had to pull over and restart engine for the problem to go away.
I have a 2024 hybrid Maverick with 17,000 miles on. The The 12 volt battery is a known issue in the vehicle that Ford has failed to address. When I went to go start my truck the other morning the battery had failed. I hooked up a jump pack to the proper terminals under the hood so that I could start the vehicle. I was successful in starting the vehicle after that. I had every warning message pop up on the dashboard. I turn the vehicle off and try to restart a few times to no avail. I had somewhere that I had to be so I started to drive. The accelerator pedal did not register at all from zero to all the way down to the floor. The truck was accelerating on its own to about 35 mph. The brakes worked the steering worked the accelerator pedal did not register at all. I parked the vehicle to try it again three or four times each time same. Then I parked for sometime maybe an hour. I tried it and it seemed to drive just fine but with a check engine light. The vehicle through all sorts of low voltage codes. This is unacceptable and should never happen to a vehicle when jump stared. I have never seen a vehicle operate the accelerator without input from the driver and I could literally put the pedal to the floor multiple times and it did not rev up or speed up at all just continue to accelerate on its own accord to about 35 mph. Going down hills the brakes work but as soon as I let off the brakes it would accelerate again. I am very busy and I have not had time to go to the dealership with the issue. I don't have time for them to take my truck for multiple days just to tell me what I already know the 12 volt battery is no good. Now I am stuck with a need to replace a battery on a vehicle that is less than 1-year-old and less than 20,000 miles just unacceptable. They could give me another battery but from what I have read the battery fails time and time again. I also have issues trusting the vehicle now if I do have to jumpstart it.
Exhaust flange clamp improperly installed during manufacturing process causing exhaust leak not identified until consumer noticed after approximately 40 miles of use. At time of writing dealership has not inspected. No warning lights or indicators. Audible sputtering heard when gas engine runs. Hybrid vehicle.
prematurely changed engine oil on New vehicle at 2200 miles, break-in period. I refilled with recommended 5.7 quarts of oil. Removed from the ramp. Level ground dip stick check. Over full. I removed 1.5 quarts, and see metal in Brand new oil. I have video. 2 weeks later I random removed 0.75 quart to inspect the integrity. More metal flakes from engine. Ford did not debur engine components of this vehicle.
Engine lost power in middle of driving interstate at steady speed . Was not in middle of accelerating or braking .Had to coast do feeder road. Turn car off and Restart before engine would re-engage
Driving on Baltimore's 695 outer loop traveling south at apx 65-75 mph in the left lane, the truck flashed a warning"stop safely now" all vehicle powertrain was disabled and I, while decelerating uncontrolled, pulled across 4 lanes to a median and waited roadside 3+ hours before ford's roadside collected the truck.
[XXX] , at 75 MPH, the engine quit running. Had to pull over into the left shoulder as the construction on the freeway prevented any other movement. After the truck stopped, I turned off the key and then restarted it. No other problem like this have occurred since (3Months). There were no warning signs or warning lamps. Feel free to inspect. Truck has not been inspected. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
