On sept6,2025 while driving on highway at 65mph truck went into limp mode so you could not accelerate although trying to and the speed of the truck decreased. Had to pull off to berm of road for safety. Turned truck of and it appeared to reset itself and there were No Warning lights on dashboard when this occurred. This could have been a deadly accident if I wasn't able to get off on berm as quickly as I did! Vehicle will be scheduled with dealer this week! But this is an ongoing problem as stated in Ford maverick community website.

I was flat towing the vehicle behind a motorcoach. I pulled off the interstate and made a gradual left turn. The maverick started to violently wobble. Pulled off to the side of road and could not tell if anything was wrong. Spent the night at a campground. Next morning I had a steering assist warning come up.

Truck is draining its battery after sitting in a downtime period. (6-12 hours) leaving me stranded. This has happened more than 20 times since 12/26/2024. I DO HAVE INFORMATION TO SUBMIT FOR SHOP (VISITS), HOWEVER AT THE TIME I AM FILLING THIS OUT I HAVE NO WAY TO ENTER THAT INFORMATION HERE. THE SHOP HAS HAD THE VEHICLE MULTIPLE TIMES AT THE LONGEST 20days STRAIGHT, UNKNOWN HOW MANY DAYS TOTAL. Most of the shop visits concluded with either battery charges OR battery changes. I have been told by Ford Dealership Maintenance Shop many times they have no idea what is going on with the vehicle. I have digital proof from the Ford app when this happens. My concern is that I have noticed that Ford is removing Digital information off of the app that supports my case. ALSO, They have started to “lose my paper work” when I go to pick up my vehicle from their shop. My vehicle has ONLY been to the dealership shop where I purchased it.

I was in drive, then I put the vehicle in park, then quickly swapped to reverse while apple car play was connected, and the back up camera did not come up. After a minute the console screen went black (I have a picture) then restarted as if it had crashed.

occasionally shifts into neutral while doing down the interstate at 60-70 miles an hour. does this after hours of driving.

There has been a recall on this vehicle (2024 Ford Maverick) since September 2024 with no available fix. The problem is with the backup camera freezing. The 2025 Maverick seems to not have the problem, so it appears to have been addressed with the new models. Why is this recall repair taking so long?

Concerning 2024 Ford Maverick hybrid pickup. Vehicle has had a sudden loss of power and loss of acceleration at highway speeds on four different dates between December 2024 and late January 2025. Took to local Ford dealer service [XXX] There were no vehicle health alerts or diagnostic trouble alerts. Service advisor searched manufacturer database found no information related to problem, and to call and bring vehicle in again if it reoccurred. Safety of passenger and self endangered due to sudden power and acceleration losses. On 3/4 incidents I was able to pull over to shoulder and engage emergency flashers. On two of these occasions vehicles close behind mine had to quickly engage their brakes to avoid collisions, and one following vehicle also had to make an emergency move to swerve away from my vehicle and avoid collision. On fourth episode there was a very near miss of collision - six following vehicles had to emergency brake to avoid a multi vehicle collision at highway speed. Problem could not be reproduced by dealer service center. The vehicle was inspected by dealer service tech on [XXX] as noted above. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of problem prior to the failures that I was aware of. However, since my focus was on quickly and safely reacting to get the vehicle off the road and avoiding collisions there may have been warnings or symptoms I was unaware of. The speedometer needle went down and the accelerator was completely unresponsive when I depressed the gas pedal. I called local dealer service again on [XXX] after reading several reports online of the same or very similar incidents that occurred in earlier model years of Ford Maverick and other models sharing same or similar platform or components. Dealer reset or updated PCM and BCM software. [XXX] … INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

A Blue Ox baseplate Part #2690 broke at the weld joint. This is due to the attachment points being to far apart. The industry standard is 24-28”. The blue ox is 41”. This causes undo stress on the weld especially during heavy braking.

This recall was put into effect in December, causing my vehicle to be taken off a rental program, causing a loss in income. 24V684 states that the vehicle camera will freeze, but to continue to drive the vehicle. This recall should not have been released until a remedy was available.

This is a hybrid vehicle and offers remote features to be able to lock/unlock and start the vehicle through an app. However there is apparently a "known issue" (dealer service department confirmed) with no known fix and an approximate resolution date of mid 2025. the issue is that the 12V battery (not hybrid) drains on its own and begins to fail when the vehicle is not running. They aren't sure of the cause but it could be related to the remote features and causes the battery to be always on or running. We wake up to error messages several times a week on our app that the remote features are unavailable, that the battery is drained, and that we may need to jumpstart the battery and drive it a long time. This has been a safety issue because we have been unable to access the car via app or key remote, needing the physical key, and on occasion have needed to jumpstart the vehicle. We have brought this vehicle to the dealer where they have replaced the battery at least once maybe twice, and the last time confirmed to us that there is not yet a recall but might turn into one because it is a known safety issue and the manufacturer has issued them specific codes and warnings and authorized them to replace and test battery more frequently than usual due to the issue and that a workaround will be announced from the manufacturers to the dealers sometime in 2025. But calling AAA to jumpstart your car just so you can drive it to the dealership when you need to go to work is not a safe way to start your day!

My 2024 Ford Maverick manufactured 9/24 has failed to unlock on two separate occasions with key fob and the interior lights failed to come on when I unlocked the driver door with the mechanical metal key. When I checked the charge status of my battery it was depleted below 75%. I also noticed that the battery was a flooded acid type and is installed under the rear seat within the passenger compartment. The placement of a flooded acid type of battery in the passenger compartment poses a significant danger and risk of acid exposure in the event of a collision.

My Ford Maverick truck was purchased and delivered on [XXX]. From the very first day, I have experienced issues with the central infotainment screen. Specifically, the screen frequently freezes, particularly when using Google Maps. My vehicle is an essential tool for my daily work, as I am an air conditioning technician and spend long hours driving. Additionally, I have noticed a significant delay in the rearview camera display, which also frequently freezes. This poses a considerable risk to pedestrians and vehicles that may pass behind my truck, turning it into a serious safety and convenience issue. I have taken my vehicle to the dealership three times, leaving it for several days on each occasion, but the problems persist after every visit. I purchased my truck from "Planet Ford Spring" in Spring, TX, but due to its proximity to my residence, I have carried out maintenance and filed complaints regarding this issue at "Tomball Ford" in Tomball, TX. I have repeatedly requested that the service advisors involved in my case replace the screen or upgrade it to a more reliable system. However, they claim that, according to Ford’s procedures, they are not authorized to make such changes. I urgently request a definitive solution to this issue, as I cannot continue visiting the dealership month after month hoping for a resolution. This problem must be addressed immediately for safety reasons. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

It happened twice in 3 days. The first time I lost electrical power, the battery died. I use a trickle charger to recharge it for 4 hours, then it functioned as normal for one day, I went to the dealer for service and they looked at it and said there was nothing wrong and sent me home. On the third day, it died again. All electrical power was lost, the car was locked up, and could not be shifted to neutral for towing. It is now sitting at my driveway waiting for Ford roadside service to tow it to a dealer for diagnostic and services.

Vehicle spontaneously shifted to neutral while driving on highway.

Rearview camera lags and occasionally freezes image during reversing. Lagging and freezing gives a false sense of vehicle position. There has been one occasion where the image froze and stayed frozen even after putting vehicle in "D" and traveling up to 30mph+. Vehicle is not part of latest recall for frozen rearview camera issue.

Backup camera can freeze or jump frames, particularly if you use shortly after starting the car. This makes it hard to trust the camera view.

While driving my hybrid Maverick on the interstate at approximately 75 mph, I accelerated to overtake another vehicle going up a slight hill (very slight). When it hit around 80mph, the power meter hit 100% and there was a momentary complete loss of power (peddle felt dead under foot) and vehicle started to decelerate. I let off the pedal and reapplied gently staying well below 50% power. The truck seemed to have less power for the remainder of the interstate drive but returned to normal after shutting off, restarting and driving again. A very dangerous situation on the interstate when you press the accelerator and change lanes to overtake someone only to start slowing down immediately. Have not visited dealership, vehicle has not been inspected by any third party, and no lamps messages or warnings on the dash or in the app.

Vehicle was on clear two lane road, no vehicles in sight to front, nor opposing lane, or even in Rear view. Speed between 45 and 50 mph. Vehicle was headed approximately south, and the road was shaded by trees to the west. Miles on odometer 1961.8 . Red warning appeared on dash, indicating to prepare for collision. We note that this is not the first time in the young life of this vehicle this warning has appeared, but that another time there was another vehicle, in its own lane, and slowing to the passenger side front, but not in any way moving into our lane. Then, later the same afternoon, about 18 miles later, and orange colored CANCEL appeared 2 times at about 66mph. There were about 1980 miles on the odometer, and in adaptive cruise control. I'm concerned that this "safety feature" has more possible error modes than Ford lists in its owner's operating manual, and that the faulty messages are a distraction, and possibly dangerous. As to the subject, "dangerous," we had previously submitted to NHTSA the occurrance of a dangerous automatic braking event when there was no need for braking, and we were in an express lane on Highway 680 with cars immediately behind. NHTSA has acknowledged receipt of that information. I had not noted on that there was no sudden change in roadway illumination (daytime) or orientation of the vehicle to the sun when that occurred. Monday of this same week I had just retrieved my vehicle from the dealer, whose technician had run what diagnostics they had available on events (apparently none recorded) and attempts to test for any malfunction of adaptive driver assist mode. Are we the only party experiencing random errors in the adaptive driving assist?

These two failure types for 4 incidents may involve 3 components or 1 or 2 of the ADAS; Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking (Certainly,) and Forward Collision Warning: The first incident was at town speed when a vehicle to the immediate front right slowed to depart the turn land into a driveway, and my vehicle slowed abruptly, although the other was not in my path. A subsequent time, mine abruptly slowed under similar conditions and displayed the red imminent crash warning. A third time, it slowed abruptly on the freeway when a vehicle to the right front slowed. The fourth failure was on [XXX], headed [XXX] toward Fremont, when the vehicle, without any warning or signal on the screen, braked abruptly when I was in the express lane and traveling between 65 and 70 mph. The trucklet braked precipitously, and I quickly pulled past some pylons into a construction shoulder area to avoid a chain reaction collision! In a couple minutes it seemed to indicate things were normal, and I waited some minutes until I could re-enter the freeway from the left into the high speed express lane (!) and have been able to drive the next couple hundred miles without these jarring sorts of malfunctions. These constitute 4 separate incidents, three of which could have precipitated accidents. Who knows what's next? I have a service appointment for tomorrow morning to have the dealer's service department look at the issues I'm reporting. [XXX] [XXX] (land line). I'm reporting the last date only, the others were within the two previous weeks. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

On March 18, 2024, my 2024 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid had just over 1,000 miles on it. That same night, approximately 20 yards before an upcoming stop sign, I got a big red triangle message on the dash saying STOP SAFELY NOW. When I finally got stopped at the STOP sign, everything shut down. No accelerator, now power and the transmission dial locked after I put it in Park. I could not get it in Neutral to push it out of the intersection. Since it is a front wheel drive vehicle, the front wheels locked also. Thank goodness my husband was with me, family members were traveling behind me AND I know a tow truck owner. Tow truck owner came came and used a code reader. It indicated that there were 9 errors related to HYBRID. He was able to clear 6 of them, but the truck still wouldn't start. He had to drag it up onto the flat bed because the front wheel were locked. He towed it to a local Ford Dealership. They initially said the smart junction box (a module that controls the hybrid battery) had a bad circuit and needed to be replaced (I'm not sure if they meant the smart junction box or the circuit...). The next day, the dealership called again and said they replaced the control module for the Hybrid Battery System. I got the truck back on the 4th day with no charge as everything was covered by warranty, including the tow. Overall, I was satisfied with how the dealership handled the issue. However, the incident seems a bad way to start an automobile relationship. In a group forum for Ford Maverick Hybrid Owners, I met a man who said the same thing happened to him on the highway! The vehicle slowed so quickly he was almost rear-ended by a tractor trailer. If it had to happen to me, I'm glad it happened on a rural back road vs. the four lane highway where I commute approximately 300 miles over 5 days per week. That's my concern - I am worried the same thing might happen to me on the highway with different results than the first time!
