FIRESTONE STEELTEX TIRES BLOW-OUT WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY. *BF THE CONSUMER REPLACED ALL 6 TIRES ON HER WINNEBAGO MOTORHOME AND SAW THAT FIRESTONE RECALLED THE EXACT TIRE SHE HAD BLOW OUT. IN CALLING TO BE REIMBURST FOR THE MONEY SHE SPENT REPLACING THE TIRES FIRESTONE WOULD NOT HONOR THE CONSUMERS COMPLAINT BECAUSE THE RECALL WAS FOR THE TIRES INSTALLED ON THE FORD EXCURSION SAYING IT COULD NOT SUPPORT THE WEIGHT. AFTER THE BLOWOUT THE TREAD TOTALLY SEPARATED FROM THE TIRE AND WRAPPED AROUND THE EXHAUST PIPE AND PULLED UP THROUGH THE SIDE PANEL OF MY MOTOR HOME CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE HAD TO CUT THE TIREAND THE EXHAUST PIPE TO REPAIR THE FLAT BECAUSE THE TREAD WAS WADGED IN BETWEEN THE WHEEL AND THE SIDE OF THE MOTORHOME. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT HER WINNIBEGO WEIGHS MORE THAN THE EXCURSION WITH THE SAME TIRES BUT TO NO AVAIL. ( RECALL NUMBER DP02011). *TC
