The backup camera and 360 view stopped working, and the reverse break assist is not available when placing the vehicle in reverse. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The car would intermittently give an error saying pre-collision assist not available and now this error is permanent. There is a technical service bulletin for it 23-2155 Lots of people have been complaining about this in the mach e forum https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/front-camera-fault-pre-collision-assist-not-available-errors.18710/page-69#post-1026803 This causes people to drop out from the automatic driving bluecruise without notice and adaptive cruise control becomes unusable.

There are many reports of the Mustang Mach E "accelerating unexpectedly." This usually happens in parking lots or other situations involving low speed and a rapid turn of the wheel. I know exactly what the problem is, because it happened to me this morning. While parking in my parking garage, my car rapidly accelerated uphill and I only narrowly avoided hitting a wall. Here is why: There are two interconnected problems. The first is that the "cruise control on/off" button is located on the far left of the interior of the steering wheel, which makes it easy to accidentally press when doing a sharp, quick one-handed turn of the wheel (like when parking). When this happens, CC engages while in the act of parking. This is exactly what happened to me. I accidentally hit the button while doing a sharp twist of the wheel, I saw the CC engage, the car rapidly accelerated uphill without my foot on the gas pedal, and I would have hit the wall in front of me if I had been a split-second slower in hitting the brake. The second problem is that there is supposed to be a failsafe for accidentally activating CC at low speed, BUT IT DOESN'T ALWAYS WORK. Page 224 of my manual says "Press the button to activate system. When the system activates, the set speed is equal to whichever is greater, the current vehicle speed, or 15 mph...." This part is true, and this is how the unexpected acceleration to 15mph occurs when parking. But the manual continues: "If the speed is too low, or other conditions are not correct for adaptive cruise control activation, the system enters standby mode. When you are below 15 mph ... adaptive cruise control does not activate unless you are following another vehicle." This is FALSE. This did not work. Clearly the CC mistook the wall in front of me for "following another vehicle." And so, when I accidentally activated CC while parking, it lurched forward UPHILL to 15mph toward a wall a few feet away. Ford needs to move the button and/or fix the failsafe.
Camera system that allows hands free driving, lane departure warning, collision warning and adaptive cruise control fails and all system offline. Extremely widespread on the 2021 models. Looks to be a cable route to the camera that was installed incorrectly. Went to dealership, they said they see this in almost all of the Mach E vehicles. Usually begins failing when hitting bumps -- system goes in/out. After a while, system drops out completely and all safety systems relying on them fail.

When in cruise control, any speed, car suddenly accelerates This happens while driving, or sometimes after stopping and then resuming previous set speed. For example I was driving in cruise control at 38 mph, when the car suddenly sped to 50mph. Or when on a highway, driving at 55mph, the car suddenly accelerated to 70mph. Started about 3 weeks ago.
Going over any bump in the road greater than 2 inches in heigth causes the following: - Front Camera Fault Service Required message - Pre-collision Assist inoperative - Adaptive cruise control inoperative

I was driving on the highway when the car gave me an error saying that the front camera is faulty and the collision warning system was giving an error. This stopped my cruise control and lane departure settings. I had just got my car back from Ford for this issue where they replaced a $7000 computer part and said it was fixed. This issue has been happening since I purchased the car in Dec 2024.

Front Camera Fault Service not available. Pre-Collision Assist Not Available. These faults have been showing up for over a year. I have taken my car to the dealer about 10 times, to no avail. Every time you hit a bump it happens. As I write this my car is in the shop again. The internet is rife with people complaining about this problem.

Anti collision, cruise control, automatic braking system, and lane assist will abruptly stop working when used. Has caused multiple almost accidents when vehicle was slowing down. Vehicle has been inducted for repairs twice for this issue and same symptoms are occurring in less than 6 months

A KNOWN faulty camera problem for 100s of Ford EVs. Starts off as very intermediate warnings until it stops working all together. This problem doesn't allow you to use cruise control and a host of other standard safety features. This should be a recall, I can't imagine someone getting hurt or worse because ford isn't getting ahead of this thing.

Car gave me a warning to bring car to dealer, who told me I need to replace the High Voltage Battery Junction Box. This part was recalled on other models, but not my specific model, despite the cars using the same part. Dealer said it will cost $3,593 to replace and Ford customer service says there is no recall for it. Also, I intermittenly have gotten a warning that the front camera will not work for forward collision warning or cruise control. It often happens after a bump in the road, but also happens at other random times.
Front camera fault. Pre collision systems don’t work without it. Large online community with the same issues but ford refuses to acknowledge it’s an issue. They won’t help even if errors start happening before warranty is over. And once warranty is over they charge large amounts to fix. There is a TSB out for the issue and it seems like a pinched coaxial cable. Our safety is at stake and the number of occurrences can’t not be random. The front camera system stopped working, so I lost access to Pre-Collision Assist—(e.g., Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking) as well as all other driver assistance feature. This would occur suddenly while I was driving (sometimes at highway speeds) where I'd have to swerve during a turn while using hands-free driving. Every time I start the car now, I have a permanent error message telling me the safety systems aren’t available. I’ve tried restarting the vehicle and checking for any obvious problems, but nothing has worked. The dealer told me it’s a hardware problem with the camera or its wiring, but fixing it would cost more than I can afford ($4K+). Since Pre-Collision Assist is a key safety feature, not having it working puts me—and possibly other drivers—at greater risk of an accident. This seems to be a common issue with Mustang Mach-Es, and I’m worried about the safety impact. I hope NHTSA can look into this and see if a recall or some other action is needed.

I am the owner of a 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E and have experienced repeated failures of the front-facing camera system, which directly impacts critical safety features such as automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control. When the camera fails, these safety systems become unavailable or behave unpredictably, putting my safety and that of others at risk. The issue began around 40,000 miles. It is typically preceded by dashboard warnings such as “Front Camera Fault” or “Driver Assistance Features Unavailable.” I paid out of pocket for a repair at an authorized Ford dealership, but only four months later, the exact same issue happened again. Now, Ford is requiring me to pay for the repair again, despite this being a repeated safety-related failure of the same component. The dealership confirmed the problem both times, and the front camera module is still available for inspection if needed. Ford has refused to cover the cost under warranty or acknowledge any broader defect. I am also aware that other Mustang Mach-E owners have reported similar failures online. Given the recurring nature of the issue and the impact on critical driver assistance systems, I believe this is a serious safety concern that warrants a formal recall and investigation by NHTSA.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the message "Collision Avoidance Camera Fault" was displayed, indicating a camera malfunction. The contact stated that the message was also present on the Mobile App. The contact also stated that the failure was a recurring failure and the camera had been replaced four times, and the vehicle was serviced several times for the failure. The manufacturer and local dealer were made aware of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 31,014.

Some of the driver assistance warning systems may not be operable due to multiple and frequent warning messages. Messages are: Front Camera Fault Service Required; Pre-Collision Assist Not Available; Lane Keeping System Fault Service Required. Ford is unable to correct these making it potentially unsafe. Additionally, they are not covering the attempt to fix this under the extended warranty. There are hundreds (if not thousands) of owners of the same model and year of my car, and subsequent years as well, having this issue with no resolution. There needs to be a recall.
There is a repeated front camera fault that prevents the "Pre-Collision Assist" from working, which could lead to a car accident and possible injury/fatality. It has been to the dealership many times over more than 2 years, and the issue still has not been resolved. The Ford dealer had been able to confirm and reproduce the issue. There is no consistency for when the alert appears on the car that the "Pre-Collision Assist" is not working, but it happens often.

Ever since we bought the car in mid-2023, we have been getting "Front camera fault" and "Pre-Collision Assist not available" error messages, at first intermittent and now constant. The errors pop up every time we turn on the car, and sometimes while driving as well, which is distracting and annoying. In addition, the cruise control doesn't work at all, and these front camera and pre-collision assist functions (which are safety features of the car) do not work. We brought the vehicle to two dealers for this same problem well within the warranty period and neither was able to fix it. We have tried to get these errors fixed on multiple occasions with no luck so far. Hansel Ford of Petaluma has our car and is now telling us it will cost $2806.21 to replace the IPMA module to fix the problem, and that it is not covered under warranty. Ford has a TSB addressing the issue: TSB 23-2155. I have spoken with Ford Customer Care on multiple occasions asking for assistance and they have failed to provide any help. This issue is widely reported on Mach-E forums as a known and frequent safety issue.

The forward collision detection system failed first. Then the car suddenly would not move and gave a pull over immediately warning on the dash and also flashed a battery light. It was 15 degrees outside and my wife and son were stuck in the cold. Not a safe environment. This is inexcusable for a car to be driving fine on minute and to be completely inoperative the next.
Backing up from a parking spot it failed to give warning of pedestrians crossing. It also fails warning for lane departures or Collision Alert warnings. All settings are on the console settings for drivers assist. Warning are given too late for pedestrians and Auto crossing while backing up. Forward collision warning does not work at all.

I frequently get front camera fault warnings from my car and then it disables the adaptive cruise control and the collision warning and assistance features. I have attempted to fix this and the Ford dealer held my car for about 14 days (also damaging it twice). They attempted to replace the module but could not get the new one to work and then opted to put the old module back in and apply a software update. There is a TSB for this issue to replace the coaxial cable that goes between the camera and the IPMA module. For some reason the dealer did not opt to replace this cable after attempting to replace the module. There are a large number of reports of this problem on Mach-E forums and Reddit and clearly a recall is necessary because dealers are not adhering to the TSB (perhaps to wait out warranties). They're also not providing loaner or rental cars as required as a way to discourage consumers from having their vehicles repaired (while keeping vehicles for a long period of time). A recall would resolve the fact that that this is a serious safety and quality issue and protect consumers who are out of warranty. The fact that I'm continuing to get these errors after two weeks of service is disturbing. I'm including a copy of the TSB and the detailed error message from the FordPass app.

The vehicle suddenly had a front windshield camera error light up on my dashboard from just driving regularly on the road. I currently have a crack windshield which I am having difficulty to replace because the front camera sensor error codes wouldn't allow the windshield camera to be recalibrated. My vehicle is currently experiencing this exact service bulletin but since is is not a recall, my dealership charged me to diagnosis this issue for $300 and claimed to fix this issue but is currently not solved. Occasionally the front camera being faulty lights up and disappears, however I am still unable to replace my windshield due to this error. Our vehicle would flash a "Front Camera fault service required" and a "Collision Warning not available" every now and then that started a few months ago. I had it diagnosed by the dealer and they said it would cost me $786.50 to do a major update on IPC, IPMA, PSCM, CCM, CMR, and perform IPMA Alignment per TSB 23-2040. We have to pay this because we are out of warranty. We thought all system upgrades are supposed to be free. Wouldn't this be a flaw on the Mach-e and should be considered a standard safety issue that needs to be corrected at no cost to the car owner? I saw that many owners also have the same issue. Our family including a [XXX] may be at risk because of this. Appreciate your help on this. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Front Camera Fault & Pre-Collision Assist Not Available Errors COLLISION WARN MALFUNCTION, COLLISION WARN NOT AVAILABLE or COLLISION WARN DISPLAY FAULT. Over 30k miles in the car so the warranty is over for bumper to bumper coverage. Dealer said an update would fix the issue. It cost 2k. Paid. The error came back within a day. Dealer says the next option is to replace all the wiring for the cameras. Which would be another 2-3k.

For over a year I got this warning that said pre collision assist not available. And it would go away after a few minutes. A few weeks ago it never left. Now I have that error as well as adaptive cruise not available. I cannot use my cruise control. I just recently had another issue and paid over 3 thousand. Now ford wants to give me another quote for 3 thousand. I searched and I'm not the only one with issue. This should he a recall problem as we are all having same issue.

Front camera stopped working after a long period of working intermittently (started to happen after passing warranty at 30,000 miles). Without that camera many safety features are disabled, like a front collision warning, lane departure, cruise control with adoptive speed, emergency breaking. The cable and processor issue was confirmed by Ford dealership service.
There is a permanent fault on the front camera of the vehicle, making it unavailable. This has permanently disabled the vehicle's pre-collision safety feature. The adaptive/normal cruise control is also unavailable because of this. Prior to the permanent issue, the fault would occur randomly and without warning, creating an extremely hazardous condition, especially while utilizing the vehicle's "one-pedal" feature. Under this condition (using adaptive/normal cruise control and the one-pedal function), the fault would occur abruptly and without warning, cruise control would fail and the vehicle would brake simultaneously, without driver action. Several times, while driving on the highway, this happened to me. I was fortunate enough to not get in an accident. The dealerships have been unwilling to address my safety concerns. Please see to it that this is resolved. I have seen many consumer forums with this same issue.

The car detects changes in speed limits, presumably with cameras. When that happens an and cruise control is on, the car will change speed automatically. However, it often thinks “65” is “85.” Thus, sometimes, the car will unexpectedly begin to accelerate very fast. This poses an obvious risk: the car is speeding up a lot, past the speed limit.
The car is frequently but intermittently reporting a failure with the front camera: "Front camera fault Service required". When this happens, the adaptive cruise control and other ADAS are disabled, which is a safety hazard while driving the car, especially at highway speeds. This issue began very infrequently in March 2024 and now happens on the majority of trips when driving the vehicle. I took the car to a Ford service center for repair. They did a software update on the car and told me that they were sure that the update would fix the issue. The front camera fault re-occurred within a week after having the software update done.

Received intermittent warnings that the front collision warning system, cruise control and front camera were not working. The problem I think began after having my roof/windshield removed/reglued under recall. It was intermittent and I could not tell if software updates were resolving the problem, but then the problem became permanent at which time my car was out of warranty. Which does not seem fair since the problem began during the warranty period,. likely as a result of the windshield recall.
Forward camera failure, will not reset, continues to come up since 2021 multiple times this vehicle has been in the shop for this repair now that the warranty is over it is not covered and is not getting fixed I cannot use my cruise control and it continues to come up on the dash. This needs to be repaired and no one wants to fix it

Received a front camera fault warning in the car. The fault disables the safety feature of pre-collision-collision assist. Had an independent service center check it out, they let me know there is a TSB from ford. Waiting for the a scheduled appointment.
While driving I get a camera alert and a collision avoidance system is not working. Then I have to reset the system by pushing a button on the steering wheel. The car has been in for this problem 3 times since 2022 .Now the 3 year warranty is up and Ford won’t cover the repair. May dealership has been dealing with this issue on a lot of cars. I filed a lemon law suit. They are not going to repair the car or by it back. They to want to give a couple of thousand. But nobody can tell me what the cost will be to fix the car. So I am at a standstill
Vehicle receives warning message that front camera and pre collision asst is unavailable after driving it for about an hour. Vehicle was serviced following the ford directive to ensure that the service to the vehicle following the warning was followed correctly. This didnt suffice the warning and the warning continues to show up daily on the vehicle. This is a safety feature that is causing errors and knocking out any safety feature for the operator of the vehicle.

When driving two errors occur randomly and repeatedly. 1) Front Camera Fault, and 2) Pre-collision Assist inoperative. If driving with using any of the ADAS features, the car immediately begins to slow rapidly although each time it has occurred there has been no obstacle present. In one instance, it was on a freeway at 75 mph speeds nearly causing a severe accident due to the unexpected rapid deceleration. Luckily this was at 10pm at night. Had it occurred during higher traffic volumes I can almost guarantee there would have been a multiple vehicle collision. Researching online, it appears that the manufacturer has issued a TSB 23-2155 acknowledging the problem exists, but they do not see this as a significant enough safety issue to warrant a recall. When the failure causes complete disconnection of all ADAS features and the vehicle to attempt unneeded, unexpected, and unpredictable evasive maneuvers, I believe this to be a significant safety issue. The warning and attempted braking by the vehicle occur on a daily basis.

Vehicle received "Front Camera Fault" and "Pre-Collision Assist Not Available" warnings multiple times. This is a known issue at Ford as they have a service bulletin (TSB 23-2155 [XXX] ) on it and is widespread. There are forum posts regarding this with 64 pages of people posting about it happening to them [XXX] ). When this happens, it disables Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Assist, and Forward Collision Warning. If you happen to be using Adaptive Cruise Control or Ford's HANDS FREE BlueCruise, the hands free system immediately stops working. If you weren't to take over when this happens, it would be a disaster. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Pre-Collision Assistant was faulty and needed to be replaced, apparently there are multiple EVs having the same issue thus causing a safety hazard for vehicles expecting it to work. The warning lamp first came on two years ago for 30 seconds than it disappeared, and again last year however it stayed on so I took it to the dealership and they had collaborated the camera and the issue was resolved, however a month after that the issue came back for 30 seconds than disappeared. It didn't stop there, a week ago that same issue appeared and I took it to one dealership and they said that they had to replace the module which was currently on backorder, so I took it to a second dealership in which the technician updated all modules but was still showing the same issue so they replaced the module and the module was faulty so they had to order a new module which I am currently still waiting for the dealership to finish with the service.

I am getting a warning in the car that the front camera is failing. The warning includes an error that the front camera failed, and that the forward collision is unavailable. Each time this happens, this causes the cruise control, lane centering and lane departure systems to disengage, which means the vehicles hard brakes at highway speeds when this happens. It disabled forward collision detection when this happens. Ford has TSB for this but when I took it in for repair/replacement they said it wasn't covered by anything and charged for the fix.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The front IPMA camera is faulty, not working. The dealership was able to diagnose it properly. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The camera fault means that the vehicle safety features for front collision assistance and anything else that uses the front camera will NOT work. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Bob Tomes Service center in Mckinney, TX has confirmed that the fault. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There are dashboard alerts for Front Camera Fault, and No Adapative Lane Assistance.

Subject: Complaint against Ford Clermont Dealership - Delayed and Unethical Service I am writing this complaint to express my dissatisfaction with the service I have received from Clermont Ford dealership regarding the repair of my vehicle. My name is [XXX] , and on [XXX], 2024, I brought my car to your dealership in Clermont , Florida, due to faulty warning lights indicating a potential crash issue and malfunctioning mirrors. The vehicle drove fine. There was no other issues. I just wanted to get this taken care of. After inspecting my vehicle, Ford of Clermont dealership informed me that someone had backed into my car, causing minor damage that needed to be repaired. Consequently, I entrusted my vehicle to Ford of Clermont dealership for the necessary repairs. However, it has been an incredibly frustrating experience as my vehicle has now been at your dealership for almost a month and a half, with no end in sight. Throughout this period, I have made numerous visits to the dealership to check on the progress of the repairs. However, each time I arrived, the service representative assigned to my case was conveniently either on a break, out to lunch, or absent altogether. To exacerbate matters, the service representative provided me with a Google Voice phone number that he never answered, but would respond to via text message. This unprofessional behavior has left me feeling neglected and unheard as a customer. Despite my persistent efforts, I have been continuously given the runaround by your dealership. Whenever I communicate with the service representative, I am fed excuses about ordered wrong body parts or being incorrect or delayed. Additionally, my requests to speak with a supervisor have been ignored, as no supervisors have reached out to address my concerns. It is worth noting that after posting a negative review on Yelp, I was promptly contacted by the service department, claiming that there is an electrical issue with my veh INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5
I have been having Ford try to resolve the safety systems from failing while driving for over 2 years. In October 2023 I took a settlement (hush money) for my time and effort, thinking that the safety systems were fixed. The dealership currently has had my vehicle for over 7 days and will not give it back until they have found a resolution (good for them). The dealer placed a buyback request with Ford Motor Co last week because of the extensive troubles, safety concerns and inability to resolve, however Ford has denied it because of the settlement. I am not wanting money, I am not wanting anything other than for Ford to take the vehicle back and pay off the loan. I have a teenage driver and I am at a point that the safety of this vehicle is putting myself, my daughter and OTHERS at risk every time it is driven on public roads. The lemon law attorney I used for the settlement refuses too help me any further stating the case is closed. I disagree that a vehicle with safety defects is OK to keep driving and that Ford Motor Co is OK with this. There is no short term or long term resolution to this matter, they do not know what is causing the system to malfunction. In every essence this is a lemon.

Pre-collision assist not working, despite multiple trips to dealership for this problem. Starting about 6 months ago, the Mach-E would periodically alert that the "pre-collision assist" was not working as a result of a front-camera fault. This was indicate by a visual indication on the dash of the front camera fault followed by "pre-collision assist unavailable" Recently, since recall 23B50 was performed on the vehicle, the pre-collision assist feature seems to not be working at all now. It's a safety risk to not have adaptive cruise control and pre-collision assist/emergency braking be unavailable.

The 2021 Mustang Mach-E has repeatedly shown these "Pre-Collision Assist" and "Front Camera Fault" errors ever since we got it 6 months ago. The errors can come and go multiple times during any drive. For my wife it is just an annoyance since she never uses Adaptive Cruise. But for me or anyone else using Adaptive Cruise, it becomes a safety concern because this error suddenly cancels the cruise and being an EV it begins regenerative breaking and slowing down much faster than other drivers expect while its driver must react as quickly as possible to return to pedal control. It's my understanding that this is starting to happen on many modern Ford vehicles at around this age and dealership service centers have been given guidance on fixing it. Ours has been in for this service and the error is still occurring.
While getting my recalls repaired at the dealership, I warned them of an issue my car was having with its front camera. I was receiving a “Pre-Collision Assist Not Available” notification each time I started my car. Upon investigation, the issue was described to me by the repair technician as. an internal failure IPM-A module on the car. This results in pre-collision no longer working on the vehicle along with the car no longer being able to utilize cruise control. The car is unable to detect vehicles in front of it to warn of a possible collision.

For multiple months, a "front camera fault" warning would display while driving on the highway, usually while using cruise control or automatic steering. This would then suddenly kick off all driving features and the car would begin to drift, requiring driver intervention. The vehicle will also periodically slam on the brakes and warn of a forward collision, but when no cars were in front. This obviously nearly caused accidents multiple times, and still occurs. It has been taken to the dealer multiple times with no luck in fixing, and is now looking at eight thousand dollars to replace the wiring. This is a very common issue, and needs to be a recall to prevent other cars from getting into accidents.

I have complained several times with Ford Dealers to fix the issues involving my vehicle accelerating on its own. The vehicle within a week will accelerate on its own 4-6 times when exiting a parking spot or my driveway.
The Adaptive Cruise Control cancel button on the steering wheel frequently fails to cancel ACC operation. The problem is that if the ACC is set at 70 mph, but you are following a vehicle that is going only 55, the ACC slows you to 55. If I intend to exit the interstate, I tap the cancel button, but the ACC stays operative. I change into the exit lane, perhaps rated at 35 mph. As soon as I am no longer behind the slow vehicle, the ACC starts to accelerate to 70 on a 35 mph off-ramp. This gets hazardous, especially in an EV with almost unlimited acceleration. One could easily be off the road before recognizing the problem. This is a problem that needs to be solved by Ford via their Over The Air Software Updates. On the internet user/owner forum this problem has been observed by numerous members, but no action taken by Ford who regularly monitors this forum. The software system is just sluggishly slow (compared to other vehicles, like my Honda Ridgeline) that it doesn’t even recognize there is an issue. Therefore no warning messages about a problem.
After transitioning from i35 south, to Highway 183 towards Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, the auto-pilot (Ford Blue Cruse) fails, the speedometer fails, the battery level indicator fails, the instrument cluster fails, cruse control picks a random speed and struggles to keep it, lane keep assist is erratic at best. This occurs every time, and in both directions, I take my vehicle on that highway. I took a video of it this last time, and offered it to Ford. They recommended I file this report with this agency.
While driving the cluster goes black. It does not show speed. It goes black for about 5 seconds and reboots. this happens about every 15 minutes while driving.

Pre collision assist and front camera malfunctions randomly. Dealer did a software update and has not resolved the issue. This happens at least once every time the vehicle is driven. It is out of warranty and will not be covered. This is a problem that plagues a significant amount of vehicles, I follow a mach-e group on social media and it’s a prominent issue. If you’re using blue cruise. The vehicle stops self driving abruptly.

The front camera system has failed. The cables need replacing, which was diagnosed by a Ford dealer. I have no collision assist, no cruise control, no lane keeping abilities, nothing that has to do with the camera in front. This is a known problem that Ford is not admitting to. All years of the Mach-E are having this issue, frequently. It has put myself and others on the road in danger by not being able to function as it should. Every time I turn the car on I get multiple warnings on the dash concerning these issues. This is not the only problem and safety issue I've had with this car in less than 9 months of owning it. Something must be done to hold Ford accountable.
After having my front windshield replaced due to a recall my front camera quit working properly. This happened a year ago. Since then I have had a warning come up on my dash ever time I start my car saying the front camera has a fault and the front collision avoidance does not work. Additionally this effected the following. I have no cruise control, no blue cruise, no lane keeping assist, no self park, no adaptive cruise control and no accident avoidance system functions. There was a service bulletin issued but it should be a recall as it effects anyone that has had the windshield replaced. Apparently the wires that connect the camera are ridiculously fragile and when the windshield was replaced they were damaged. I have been waiting since spring 2023 for the parts after software updates failed to fix the problem and Ford realized the problem. They are now on back order and it keeps being pushed back. The wires are clearly defective and should not have been used if they can be damaged by a windshield replacement. And issuing a service bulletin clearly shows that they know it’s a problem but they do not want to pay to fix for everyone.

It would appear that after the recall repair my car is experiencing problems that we’re supposed to be addressed with the recall. All systems are constantly malfunctioning.

Began to receive error messages stating "Front Camera Fault" and "Forward Collision Detection Fault". For a while it fixed on its own, then the messages started to become more and more frequent until now the error messages come up every time we turn on the car. With the malfunction that is happening with front camera and collision detection, it prevents cruise control from being used (which is adaptive) and forward collision warnings are not working/inactive. The lack of both of these systems presents a safety issue. The car has been taken to the local Ford dealership which has determined what needs to be replaced (the front camera and cables connecting the camera). However the parts must come from the Ford manufacturer and there is current no ETA that the dealership is being given for the parts to be delivered. When searching online for this issue, there are other owners that have experienced this and there is currently a TSB for this issue (TSB 23-2155).
Driving my Ford Mustang Mach-E has always been a source of joy, but a recent 250-mile road trip unveiled a concerning issue. The dashboard flashed an error message at least 10 times, warning of "Service Front Camera" and "Pre-Collision Assist Unavailable." Each occurrence led to the disengagement of the adaptive cruise control, stripping away my confidence that the car would automatically brake for vehicles ahead. This intermittent malfunction, combined with the unpredictability of its onset, has cast a shadow over my driving experience. It's deeply unsettling to be constantly reminded of potential risks, especially when relying on safety features that once felt so dependable. The trust I had in my car's safety systems is now tinged with apprehension.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford Mustang Mach E. The contact stated that while the wife was driving the vehicle and approaching oncoming traffic the vehicle was stopped. Immediately after stopping the pre-collision warning activated and the vehicle suddenly experienced unintended acceleration crashing into the rear of a second vehicle and pushing the vehicle nearly 50 feet into and across the street intersection. During the incident the driver sustained an injured neck, the front passenger sustained an injured neck and fractured left wrist. Both occupants required medical treatment. Also, the second vehicle's occupant sustained an unknown injury. No further information was available. A police report was taken at the scene and both vehicles were towed to an undisclosed location. The cause of the failure was not determined. The contact indicated that the vehicle's pre-collision warning system had been serviced prior to the incident. The local dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 30,000.

I have been having an intermittent warning error saying my front camera is faulty and my lane assist is no longer operational. The error seemed to come and go with bumps. Here recently it has become permanent around the beginning of April 2023, and I no longer have functionality of many safety features including adaptive cruise control, regular cruise control, lane assist, crash prevention warning, automatic braking, or even regular cruise control (if I try to turn off the adaptive cruise in the settings regular cruise control still does not work), automatic bright lights don't work. I have been trying to get this resolved since I purchased the car but despite a dozen or so trips to the dealership I cannot seem to get it fixed. I've attached a screenshot of some of the dozens (hundreds?) of error messages I have received through the Ford app with the car, which note pre-collision assist is not available. It does not seem safe to have so many safety features non-operational.
Pre-collision assist turns off randomly, This event disables the safety features. When in cruise control the brakes are applied.. This a happened at 65 mph. almost causing an accident. The dealer has tried many times to correct the problem and has been unable to. He has been in contact with ford and they cannot provide a repair. They are aware of the issue

All of the advanced safety features have stopped working in my Mach E The curse control does not work either the adaptive or the standard. The pre-collision system is not working, lane assit is not working. The absence of these working systems is a danger. Ford knows about this software problem with the software, however they refuse to fix the problem at there expense. The Mach E was designed from the ground up as software driven, the manufacture should be responsible to ensure that the software is up to date.
The car shows front camera fault disabling all collision safety features as well as cruise control.

Occasional failure of video signal from front camera located above rear view mirror causes Alert pop-up on main instrument display and loss of all Driver Assist feature that utilize the front camera such as: lane departure alert and adaptive cruise control.
While driving and hitting a bump I will get a message in the driver's display stating Forward collision assist unavailable. This causes almost all of the ADAS features to stop working including cruise control and blue cruise. This is very dangerous! There is a huge thread on this issue at the macheforum.com. The issue needs to be addressed by Ford Motor Company in a recall.

This vehicle has an issue with persisent and now completely locked out safety systems. There's a 40 page forum on MachEForums. Currently at the dealer 2 weeks with no known fix. They are waiting on parts, but do not guarantee a fix. All of my safety systems have been disabled from this. Adadptive Cruise Control, which isn't concerning, but - Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warnings, Lane Keeping Assistance. I feel unsafe in this vehicle and Ford has no current fix. A serious investigation needs to go into this as I was advised by the Ford BEV team hotline he had just spoken to someone from California who started a buyback for the same reason, and when the dealer couldn't fix it, to call back and advise it's a lemon. The fact Ford themselves suggested this and cannot restore safety systems is beyond scary. Dealer isn't convinced they can fix it and says parts are backordered, meanwhile there's no concise fix. A master tech in the thread has suggested co-axials, while others have had their camera and camera harness replaced. Others like myself are without the loss of a car for weeks while still having to pay for it. Please launch a formal investigation. If it was just adaptive cruise, it wouldn't matter. Normal cruise is knocked out as well as every ADAS feature, due to a 'front camera' / colission avoidance issue. Another tech in the thread suggested the wiring loom was not long enough causing a harsh bend to the coaxial in the bumper. I just want a safe car back. All features such as lane keeping, even auto-braking are now gone. My dealer is unable to calibrate the camera anymore and suggested Ford released this vehicle a bit too early. This is worrying. Thanks

Pre-Collision Assist Not Available has been persistent since purchasing last month. There is 27 page thread (https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/front-camera-fault-pre-collision-assist-not-available-errors.18710/page-25) recommending that we file a report here.
I keep receiving a fault for the front camera which seems to be a very common occurrence amongst Mach-e owners lately. After receiving this message, the cruise control abruptly kicks off. All functions of the cruise control do not work in this instance…adaptive, speed keeping, lane control, etc. This fault happens about once every couple of minutes while driving. When I’m using cruise control in ‘one-pedal’ drive mode and this fault occurs, the vehicle immediately starts braking. This happened one time as I was entering a narrow bridge in Solomons, MD, and a car behind me nearly rear ended me.
I have had a camera fault error for several weeks. This leads to the pre-collision assist and other features not being available. The camera module has already been replaced once and I still have the same problem.

Car purchased new June 2021. In April 2022, I began to get intermittent faults regarding the front camera “Front Camera Fault - Service required” - this would disable cruise control on highways and cause quite a lurch and change in speed. The error message disables cruise control, camera, pre-collision assist, and lane keeping assist. The error message would disappear after a few minutes. By Memorial Day weekend May 2022, the fault was persistent and the error message did not go away. In August 2022, I left the car with my dealer for 3 weeks and they did some software updates and re-seated my windshield to address an open recall. Since then, I have received the front camera intermittent fault three times. There’s quite a number of us with this issue and Ford has initiated buybacks due to the problem being unresolved. We just want the issue resolved, as it’s a safety issue.

Starting approximately in June 2022, my vehicle receives almost daily faults. It will generate a "Front Camera Fault" and a "Pre-Collision Assist Not Available" message. When the car generates these faults, the following other features will fail to work: Adaptive Cruise Control, Normal Cruise Control, Automatic headlights, Lane Centering, Pre-collision warning. I brought the vehicle into two separate dealers on two separate occasions to address the problems. Both times, parts were replaced, software was updated / reset, and camera systems were re-aligned. None of these efforts have even made the problem any better. The fault will sometimes appear when first starting the vehicle. But, sometimes the fault will appear at highway speeds which causes the car to disengage cruise control suddenly which is jarring and unexpected.

The Adaptive Cruise Control will arbitrarily reduce speed for no apparent reason. This has happened on several instances. Sometimes the vehicle just slows down and other times the brakes are suddenly applied. The vehicle speed has been suddenly reduced by 20 MPH on a busy 65MPH road in rush hour. No accident occurred. Vehicle was in service just this past month. All updates were entered and several flaws were corrected. Problem has continued up to and including this morning. No warning lamps or collision avoidance alarms were triggered.

I repeatedly get two error messages, front camera fault and pre collision assist unavailable. It happened randomly until it finally went out completely. I've spoken to many other owners who are having the same problem and it seems that there is not fix. This causes the cruise control and lane keeping assist to become unavailable. Myself and many other owners have attempted to get this issue resolved multiple times and it seems that there isn't a fix and the manufacturer is not speaking out about it. My car is currently at the repair shop for it's 3rd visit to resolve this same issue. The dealership is unaware of how to resolve it and are waiting for Ford to find a resolution. This has been an issue since April and the repairs attempts started when the camera went completely out in May. This is a big safety issue if the care can not pick up the threat of a front collision. With the pre collision assist unavailable it something were to happen while driving, the emergency brake system will not activate. I feel that this issue should be addressed.

Ford has recently released a software update that causes Front Camera Faults when going over bumpy roads and across multiple conditions. This causes the Blue Cruise cruise control system to suddenly stop working when driving at highway speeds. When coupled with One Pedal driving, this could cause brakes to slam on while driving at highway speeds. Additionally, forward emergency breaking does not work until this fault resets (after ~1-2 minutes typically). This happens constantly when driving and causes safety hazards.

Two problems on multiple separate occasions occurred. 1st problem - more than twenty (20) times car had suddenly accelerated or slowed down while driving with cruise control. This supposedly should have been resolved with an update that was downloaded around a month ago. Nothing changed, car still accelerates or slows down randomly. 2nd problem - occurred at least five times. Car suddenly loosing power while entering the traffic including entering highway. Drivetrain malfunction warning was displayed on dashboard after last lost of power when entering intersection. After latest incident on September 13th car is being repaired at the dealership.
On approximately March 20, 2022, I was driving my Mach E vehicle. I pulled into a driveway and parked my vehicle. Upon exiting my vehicle, my vehicle began accelerating forward up the inclined driveway. It then struck a parked vehicle and came to a stop. The car accelerated uninetentionally which is in alignment with the current recall. Additionally, the advanced emergency braking did not work as the brakes did not deploy and the car only went back to rest after I re-entered the car post-accident.
While parking in a garage the vehicle unexpectedly accelerated and ran into a wall. Anyone in or around the car may have been seriously ignored. The issues has happened twice but can not be reproduced by me. There we no indicators that the event was about to take place There is a recall for this on the vehicle type but not for the date of my manufacturing.
No clear sound or indication when BlueCruise disengages leading to unexpected behavior.
If any of the passengers are unbuckled and the seat chime is on the car does not have an audible forward collision or pedestrian warning alert sound.

While driving on thruway, it began to snow.. One. by one the safety sensors reported failure due to being blocked. Even basic criosese control stopped working. As conditions cleared none of the sensors recovered. I pulled off at an exit to clear any remaining snow that may have been blocking the sensors. The sensors were already clear, yet still reported. being blocked. I pulled into a car wash and. had the car washed and dried to make sure that every sensor was unobstructed. All of the sensors were still in a failure state. Not one sensor recovered. I had to turn off the car and restart to clear the sensor failures. This is a big problem when driving on a long trip. Every time it snows and a sensor fails, I have to exit the thruway and find a place to pull over and restart the car. In instances where roads are wet, cars ahead spray road mud and block the sensors. This happens constantly in upstate NY. Every few miles when the sensors is blocked the car will lose cruise control and most of the safety features. The only way to recover is pull off of the road to restart the car. It happened, several times on 50 mile drive. It's unnerving when it does. When weather conditions are poor, I want to get to my destination safely, without extra driving caused by exiting to restart and merging back on the thruway multiple times. Any other modern vehicle that I have driven will clear a sensor failure when the condition no longer exists, without restarting the car. The Mach-E refuses to clear sensors unless it's restarted. I do believe this compromises the safety of the driver and passengers by causing unnecessary extra driving with multiple instances of stopping and restarting while road conditions are ready poor.

WHEN I START UP THE CAR, AND THE TEMPERATURE IS BELOW 50 DEGREES, THE "PRE-COLLISION ASSIST" IS NOT AVAILABLE, THE "PARK AID" MALFUNCTIONS AND THE "BLIND SPOT DETECTION WITH CROSS TRAFFIC" IS INOPERATIVE....THE ALERTS ARE ON THE DASH, AND COME AS ALERTS TO MY PHONE. THE CAR CAN STILL BE DRIVEN. MY CAR HAS BEEN AT THE "SERVICE" DEPARTMENT AT THE DEALERSHIP SINCE MARCH 16, AND I HAVE NO WORD ON WHEN IT WILL BE RETURNED. THIS HAS HAPPENED 2/26, 2/27, 3/2, 3/4, 3/5, 3/6,3/7,3/10 AND 3/12. AND, TWICE, WHILE DRIVING AT WARMER TEMPS., THE "FRONT COLLISION ALERT" HAS SUDDENLY APPEARED ON THE DASH, AND THERE IS NOTHING IN FRONT OF ME.
