WITH ABSOLUTELY NO PRIOR WARNING THE BRAKES JUST FAILED TO RESPOND. NEXT TIME I TURNED MOTOR ON THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. IF AN ACCIDENT HAD HAPPENED THE WARNING WOULD HAVE COME TOO LATE. LOST ALL THE BRAKE FLUID.*AK

WHILE DRIVING THE HYDRAULIC BRAKE BOOSTER FAILED CAUSING THE STEERING WHEEL TO LOCK UP AND LOSS OF CONTROL (ACCIDENT), AS A RESULT THE SEAT BELT RETRACTOR BROKE. *ET
THE PLASTIC INTAKE? CRACKED FORD RECALL REPAIRED IT. 1ST DEALERSHIP NOTIFIED WAYNE MORRIS FORD IN PERRY, GA WOULD NOT HELP AT ALL. 2ND DEALERSHIP NOTIFIED WARNER ROBINS FORD FOUND THE RECALL AND REPAIRED IT A NO CHARGE. ALSO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE FRONT END AND STEERING WHEEL VIBRATING/SHAKING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. I HAVE REPLACED THE ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS WHICH HAS HELPED A LITTLE. BUT CAN NOT GET ANY ANSWERS OR A RESOLUTION FROM ANY MECHANIC TO DATE.
WAS DRIVING VEHICLE & FELT TRANSMISSION SLIPPING. HAD RETURNED TO DEALER WHO REFUSED TO REPAIR IT. LATER HAD CRUISE CONTROL ON & VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. APPLIED BRAKES SHUT IT OFF, BUT DID NOT STOP IT. TURNED VEHICLE OFF & RESTARTED IT. VEHICLE HAS NO AIR BAGS. VEHICLE HAD A 1998 FRONT REPAIR DONE, BUT NO ACCIDENT HAD HAPPENED. *AK
REFERENCE NHTSA 35-99. ONE BRAKE LINE FAILURE (LEFT FRONT) OCCURRED AS DESCRIBED IN THIS REPORT, THE SECOND FAILURE (RIGHT FRONT) OCCURRED LATER WHILE BLEEDING THE SYSTEM IN MY GARAGE. THE AUTOMOBILE WAS A 96 MUSTANG GT WITH COBRA BRAKE UPGRADE WHICH INCLUDED NEW BRAKE LINES.

CAR HAS HAD SERIOUS BRAKING, TRANSMISSION AND COOLING PROBLEMS SINCE THE DATE PURCHASED. HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR THESE REPAIRS MORE THEN 12 TIMES. DEALER & FORD HAVE SAID THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS CAR. I HAVE READ 33 PAGES OF COMMENTS OF 1996 MUSTANG OWNERS WHO ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME SERIOUS DEFECTS THAT I HAVE. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS UNSAFE VEHICLE! *AK
MY CAR HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER TWICE FOR THIS PROBLEM AND WILL BE BACK NEXT WEEK FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. THE STEERING WHEEL SHUDDERS, BECOMING SEVERE AT SPEEDS OF 50MPH OR HIGHER. WHEN BRAKING THE WHEEL PULLS HARD, THE PEDAL MUST BE PUMPED TO KEEP FROM STEERING RIGHT. IF YOU BRAKE HARD THE WHEEL "JERKS"HARD CAUSING YOU TO LOOSE HOLD OF THE STEERING WHEEL IF YOU ARE NOT EXPECTING IT. THE ROTORS HAVE BEEN CUT TWICE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM, THIS TIME IT HAS MADE IT MUCH WORSE.
HAND BRAKE, WHEN USED, POPS OUT BY ITSELF, CAUSING VEHICLE TO ROLL. THIS CONDITION ONLY HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK
FRONT BRAKEROTORS/PADS/CALIPERS FAILED. ALSO, REPLACED TRANSMISSION GEARS/CLUSTERS/INTERIOR BODY PANELS.
BOTH FRONT BRAKE HOSES BUSTED ON SEPARATE OCCASIONS IN THE SAME LOCATION; AT THE "BANJO: FITTING.
ANTI LOCK BRAKES FAILED ON SEVERAL OCCASSIONS, ONE INCIDENT RESULTED IN A COLLISION WITH VIOLENT DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIR BAG CAUSING BURNS TO ARM.
WHILE THE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN THE ABS BRAKES WILL CUT OFF INTERMITTENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. *AK
DRIVING AT APPROX 60 MPH BRAKES WENT TO FLOOR, HAD TO PUMP BRAKES IN ORDER TO TRY TO GAIN CONTROL. STEERING COLUMN VIBRATES/ALL FRONT END VIBRATES AT ABOUT 55 MPH. DEALER REPLACED FRONT ROTATING ARMS ON BOTH SIDES IN 1996, 3 WEEKS LATER DEFECT REOCCURRED. *AK

FRONT END VIBRATES/SHAKES. IN ADDITION, BRAKES FAILED, PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR, ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. IN ADDITION, EMERGENCY BRAKE FAILED/STEERING ASSEMBLY MALFUNCTIONED, CAUSING VEHICLE TO PULL IN EITHER DIRECTION. *AK
WHEN THE VEHICLE ACCELERATES TO A SPEED OF 40MPH AND APPLYING FOOT TO THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE STEERING WHEEL BEGINS TO VIBRATE. THIS HAPPENS ONLY WHEN DRIVING 40MPH. *AK
ABS SOLENOID FAILED.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE FRONT BRAKES GRAB TO THE RIGHT WHEN DRIVER COME ACROSS A BUMP IN THE ROAD. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, AND THEY SAID THAT THE REAR END OF THE BOCTON IS OUT.
BRAKES ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY, TO ENGAGE BRAKES DRIVER HAS TO PUSH VERY HARD ON THE PEDAL.
UPON BRAKING, ABS BRAKES MALFUNCTION, CAUSING VEHICLE TO PULL TO THE RIGHT. *AK
DRIVING 30MPH; STARTED APPLYING BRAKES WHEN THEY LOCKED UP; VEHICLE WENT INTO OTHER LANE & HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. DAMAGED DRIVER'S FRONT; AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. DRIVER HIT STEERING WHEEL; LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALER & THEY TOOK RESPONSIBILITY FOR REPAIRS. MANUFACTURER WON'T HONOR WARRANTY. *AK
