The contact owns a 2005 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that during inclement weather, water was entering the cabin of the vehicle through the passenger’s side glove box. The contact stated that due to the failure, mold had developed throughout the vehicle on the carpet, doors, and interior seats. The contact's husband also discovered that water had entered the computer module after inspecting the vehicle and the module was removed. The contact stated that the vehicle was inoperable after several repairs and several battery replacements. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact called the dealer and was referred to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 87,000.

Took the 2005 Mustang GT in several years ago to have one airbag replaced. Dealer (Autonation Torrance, California) stated parts were not available for the other side. One of the airbags has never been replaced. I now read there is a "Do Not Drive" recall for vehicles of this year and model in "Zone A".
I have done all my airbag recalls and the light came on a few months ago and is steady flashing. Called Cresent Ford in High Pint and they looked up my VIN and my car replacement history. They told me it had been replaced but it was still under warranty and to make an appointment to have it looked at. Made an appointment, which I may add I had to take the day off and drive 40 mins one way, I was told by [XXX] that I had to pay for a diagnostic test because it may not be the airbag and they refused to look at the car until I paid for a diagnostic test. I continue to receive airbag notices and if I was told on the phone this was under warranty. If there are problems in the past with airbags and in the future, we have problems why should this not be covered and looked at by Ford at cost to them to run a diagnostic test. This is absurd. Had this happened to me 3 months ago I NEVER would not have purchased a 2010 Mustang if this is how you do your customers for your defective parts. Also went to pull the parking brake up, which was passed inspection SEVERAL times, and the brake does not work. This is a BIG safety hazard. Allen , our son had accident Friday May 20th in our 2005 Ford Mustang gt. He swerved to miss something in the road and lost control of the vehicle. It actually rolled over but also damaged the front end enough to bend the frame rails. The ai bags did not set off. There was a recall on them and we had them replaced by Ford in 2020 . My wife and I felt like they should have deployed . Thanks
Brought the vehicle in for airbag replacement. Made an appointment ahead of time. Left the car over night. Contacted the service dept the next day and they told me the repair was done. I went in and was handed the keys and paperwork and told it was done. I kept getting recall notices from Ford, so I contacted them to let them know the airbags had been replaced. They insisted I never brought the car in, but I have the paperwork. Upon going over the details with Ford during the first phone call. Only one airbag had been replaced, and they gave the car back to me under the impression it was safe to drive. Last week was the third time I've contacted. Each time they say they will investigate the matter and never call back. I've lost confidence in this dealership and Ford for being unwilling to admit they dropped the ball and fix the problem. Their letters say they will come to you, but that's not happening either. I would like to watch this being done, sorry I just don't trust them anymore. (I have the paperwork)

AFTER WE HAD THE FIRST AIRBAG RECALL REPLACED WE STARTED TO EXPERIENCE THE FLICKER 9F THE AIRBAG LIGHT. WE ASSUMED THIS WAS DUE TO THE NECESSITY OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG NEEDING TO BE RECALLED. OUR SERVICE TECHNICIAN DOESN'T AGREE. THEY SAY THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER NEEDS REPLACING. THE ONLY INFORMATION I CAN FIND ON THAT IS THAT ALL OTHER GAUGES FAIL IF THE CLUSTER NEEDS REPLACING. THAT IS WHY I FEEL THAT THE LIGHT IS ON DIRECTLY BECAUSE OF THE AIRBAG RECALL.

IN THIS LETTER, FORD TELLS ME THERE WILL BE NO PARTS AVAILABLE UNTIL AT A MINIMUM OF SPRING 2018, AND WORD FOR FORD: "WARNING: UNTIL REMEDY PARTS BECOME AVAILABLE, DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO SIT IN THE FIRST ROW PASSENGER SEAT. THE AIR BAG COULD RUPTURE DURING DEPLOYMENT IN A CRASH AND CAUSE INJURIES OR DEATH. WHEN THE FRONT ROW PASSENGER SEAT IS NOT OCCUPIED, THE PASSENGER AIR BAG WILL NOT DEPLOY, ELIMINATING THE RISK." FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS STATED THERE ARE NO LOANERS DUE TO THIS..JUST THAT I CANNOT HAVE ANY PASSENGERS IN MY CAR. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE FOR MYSELF AND MY FAMILY, AND FIND IT RIDICULOUS MY ONLY OPTION IS TO NOT HAVE ANY PASSENGERS. FORD NEEDS TO LEGALLY PROVIDE A RENTAL CAR AS THEY FEEL THEY DON'T NEED TO ASSIST THE CUSTOMERS THEY ARE PUTTING IN DANGER.

TAKATA RECALL- MY SON HAS RECEIVED AN INITIAL REPLACEMENT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG. THERE WAS A FIX BEFORE THE PART WAS AVAILABLE FOR THE DRIVER'S SIDE. HOWEVER, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG REMAINS A RISK TO ANY PASSENGER THAT RIDES WITH HIM. THERE IS CURRENTLY NO FIX AVAILABLE. THE RECALL BEGAN IN JUNE 2016 FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. I DO NOT WANT ANY OF HIS SIBLINGS OR FRIENDS RIDING IN THIS VEHICLE UNTIL IT IS SAFE.

TAKATA RECALL I AM COMPLAINING TODAY ABOUT SARASOTA FORD. MY CAR WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD NOT WORK AND IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH ELECTRICAL. I HAD TO EVEN WALK IN THE BACK PARKING LOT BECAUSE THE SECRETARY WHO DID HELP GET MY KEYS COULDN'T DRIVE A STICK. THERE WAS A BAG OF FOOD LEFT IN MY BACKSEAT AND MAGGOTS WAS IN MY BACKSEAT . I KNEW THEY WERE SWAMPED SO I DIDN'T EVEN COMPLAIN. I WAS ON MY WAY BACK TO KC AND MY CAR WON'T START WHEN I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE. I IMMEDIATELY CALL SARASOTA FORD AND THEY PUT ME ON HOLD FOR A LONG TIME. I FINALLY HUNG UP AND SOME LOCALS HELPED ME POP START MY CLUTCH. I DROVE TWO MORE HOURS AND MY CAR STARTED OVERHEATING. I PULL OVER AND ITS STEAMING. I HAD TO GET A HOTEL ROOM IN ALABAMA SOMEWHERE AND A TOW TRUCK. IT ENDED UP BEING THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING. I THOUGHT THAT SARASOTA WOULD OF GAVE MY CAR A FULL DIAGNOSTIC TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS THE PROBLEM. THE FACT THAT THE REPLACEMENT PART HAS BEEN ON ORDER FOR 1.5 YEARS AND HAS STILL NOT BEEN SENT TO FORD DEALERSHIPS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.

SINCE THIS DATE I HAVE MADE 5 ATTEMPTS TO HAVE SOMEONE GIVE ME A SCHEDULE AS TO WHEN THIS ISSUE WILL BE RESOLVED. ONE YEAR LATER I AM STILL GETTING THE RUN AROUND FROM FORD. ON JULY 17, 2017 I CONTACTED THE FORD MICHIGAN HEADQUARTERS AND THEY TOLD ME TO CALL CUSTOMER RELATIONS AT 800-392-3673. THE CONVERSATION BEGAN WITH THE SAME EXCUSE THAT THEY WERE WORKING ON THE PROBLEM AND I WOULD RECEIVE A LETTER WHEN THE AIR BAG COULD BE REPLACED. TAKATA RECALL. ON 3/25/15 I HAD MY DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG REPLACED PER FORD RECALL 14B09. THEN IN JULY OF 2015 I GOT A LETTER FROM FORD STATING THAT THE AIRBAG HAD TO BE REPLACED AGAIN AND WAS STILL UNDER RECALL. THE NUMBER OF THIS RECALL IS 15S21 AND FORD WOULD SEND ME A LETTER WHEN PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. IN FEBRUARY OF 2016 I STILL HAD NOT HEARD FROM FORD SO I CALLED MY DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. AT THE SAME TIME I EMAILED FORD AND THE REPLY WAS TO WAIT FOR PARTS TO BE AVAILABLE. FINALLY ON 5/25/16 I EMAILED FORD AGAIN TRYING TO FIND OUT IF PARTS WERE AVAILABLE AND I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD BE NOTIFIED IN THE "VERY NEAR FUTURE" ABOUT THE AVAILABILITY OF PARTS. AS OF TODAY 6/30/16 I STILL HAVE NOT HEARD ABOUT THE PARTS BEING AVAILABLE. IT HAS BEEN SINCE MARCH 2015 THAT I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AROUND WITH A POSSIBLE DEFECTIVE AIRBAG IN MY MUSTANG. APPARENTLY THE REPLACEMENT AIRBAG THEY PUT IN ON 3/25/15 MAY ALSO BE DEFECTIVE PER FORD. MY WIFE AND I DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AND I DON'T KNOW IF IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE. THEY WOULD GET IN TOUCH WITH ME WHEN A PERMANENT FIX WAS AVAILABLE. IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE TO REPLACE WITH A TEMPORARY FIX. MY OTHER VEHICLE A TOYOTA, AIRBAG WAS REPLACED BY DEALER WITH NONE OF THIS RUN AROUND IF THERE IS A RECALL THEN I DESERVE TO HAVE A PERMANENT FIX NOT A TEMPORARY ONE. WHILE FORD IS DRAGGING THEIR FEET MY SON WHO DRIVES THIS CAR IS IN DANGER OF LOSING HIS LIFE. TAKATA RECALL I PURCHASED A USED 2005 FORD MUSTANG FROM TIDELAND FORD IN PAWLEYS ISLAND S.C WHEN I CHECKED ON THE RECALL LIST MY CAR WAS ON THE LIST FOR TAKATA AIRBAG, I WENT TO THE DEALER TO CHECK TO SEE IF IT HAD BEEN REPAIRED AND WAS TOLD IT WASN,T THEY CLAIM MY AIRBAG IS OF THEE OLD FORD STYLE NOT THE SAME AS THE NEWER FORDS AND FORD WILL BE REPLACING THE NEWER ONES FIRST AND NOT TO HOLD MY BREATH ON MINE GETTING MINE FIXED IN THE NEAR FUTURE BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO OLD STYLE IN INVENTORY. AS ILIVE IN A HIGH HUMIDITY AREA , WHICH IS THE CLIMATE TO CAUSE THE AIRBAG TO FAIL. NOW I KNOW THIS IS NOT THE FAULT OF TIDELAND AS THEY HAVE BEEN HONEST AND AS HELPFUL AS THEY COULD BUT CANNOT DO ANYTHING UNTIL FORD SUPPLIES THEM WITH THE APPROPRIATE REPLACEMENT. WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR, THE AIR-BAG LIGHT STARTED COMING ON RANDOMLY. IT MIGHT NOT COME ON FOR DAYS, THEN DECIDES TO COME ON. THE OWNER'S MANUAL SAYS IF THIS LIGHT COMES ON TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, NOTHING ELSE. THE FIRST TIME I BROUGHT IT TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT'S ATTENTION, I WAS TOLD IF IT WASN'T ON IT WASN'T A PROBLEM. WITHIN MY SECOND YEAR OF OWNERSHIP, THE AIR-BAG LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE. THIS TIME THE SERVICE AGAIN SAW THE LIGHT ON. THEY KEPT THE CAR, SOLD ME A BATTERY SERVICE WHERE THEY REMOVED THE CABLE AND SPRAYED ANTI-CORROSION STUFF ON THE TERMINAL. THIS DID NOT CHANGE THE RANDOM LIGHT COMING ON WHILE DRIVING. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE FORD MUSTANG RECALL TO RE-PROGRAM THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. THIS DID NOT CHANGE THE RANDOM LIGHT COMING ON WHILE DRIVING. RECEIVED A CALL IN MAY 2008 THAT THEY HAD A REPLACEMENT SENSOR FOR MY CAR. BROUGHT IT IN AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE WRONG SENSOR. THE SERVICE AGENT TOLD ME TO CALL BACK LATER (NO SPECIFIC TIME LINE)TO SEE IF THEY HAD THE NEW SENSOR. THE CAR'S WARRANTY WAS UP IN JULY 2008, THE LIGHT COMES ON ALL THE TIME, AND THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY DO NOT HAVE THE SENSOR FOR MY CAR, BUT THERE ARE 5 DEALERS IN TOWN THAT HAVE THEM.
