I was driving down the road in my 2018 Mustang ecoboost. When all of the sudden slowing down it locked the rear wheels up. I slid off the road and fortunately I didn’t hit anything but it did pop my side skirt off in the rear of the car. Thankfully the person behind me reacted in quick enough time to get around me considering the rainy weather conditions. This is very dangerous. It’s throwing a code for a solenoid B. Had traction control lights. And says see manual. But they all illuminated after the problem first happened. The car has been parked for a while. However someone suggested I try this website. There were no pre warnings to what was going on. The car drove fine up until the point of it just randomly deciding to lock the rear wheels up. I still owe money on the car and have been paying for it for almost two years since it happened. The car has around 100k miles. I saw online where my car is not the only case. One of the cases the car almost got hit by a train. Yikes.

The contact owns a 2018 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle suddenly came to a stop while attempting to shift to second gear. The contact pulled over to the side of the road. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving in second gear, which required the contact to release the accelerator pedal before the vehicle could shift to second gear. The vehicle was taken to O'Reilly’s, where it was diagnosed with transmission failure. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

The vehicle jolts when placed from park or reverse to Drive after being driven 30 or more minutes or driving 10+ miles. I had previously sent it to 3 different dealerships and only one was able to temporarily resolve the issue. They had to adjust the issue through a computer system. However, after 6-12 months, it is happening again. I feel that is a property or safety issue for drivers because, the transmission or shift change makes the vehicle jump forward and if not carefully could possibly hit another vehicle or person that passes through the front side of the vehicle.

For roughly 4mths beginning in April 2025, my 2018 Ford Mustang Ecoboost has been suffering from a sporadic misfire, with it the system reporting the misfire and the check engine light coming on, the Ford App identifying the misfire occurring. It was initially repaired with replacing all spark plugs, ignition leads. The sporadic misfire would continue to occur, Ford dealership kept the car for 2 days in late July, took everything apart said they were unable to replicate the misfire, cleared the codes (P0303 being the main one that appears consistently) and said to come back if it occurred again. Roughly 2 weeks later the issue occurred again, took the vehicle back to Ford where they kept the car for 2 days, went through the same process and could not replicate the issue. They dug deeper into the issue and found that the coolant would not hold pressure and with the use of a video scope found that the Intake Valve had fractured and was leaking coolant into the engine as well as distributing multiple shards and pieces of metal from the Valve Intake Fracture. Informed me that the only option was to replace with a new engine and turboboost. They reviewed and found that there were no recalls related to this issue for this vehicle. After undertaking my own research, I found this to be a known issue for Ford and that roughly 100k vehicles had been recalled starting with the 2020 vehicles for the same issue. The out of pocket expense is around 14k, and the vehicle is currently waiting on a replacement engine to arrive. Currently Ford are not offering any assistance in the cost of the replacement, been though they have been servicing the car since 2020 and it is regularly maintained per their guidelines of vehicle needs based on the mileage driven.

I have a 2018 Mustang GT with the 10R80 transmission. The transmission started giving me problems like slamming and slipping while shifting and sometimes jumping in and out of gear when drinking in the highway. The problem came from an engineering is with the CDF Drum... Ford has updated the CDF Drum and has fixed the problem. Ford never issues a recall to fix this problem with the vehicles produced with this issue but instead just used the updated production parts in the later models leaving the customers like myself to have to either pay out of pocket or rely on a warranty or after market warranty company to have this very expensive issue fixed. Right now as I am writing this, my car is in the transmission shop. Please help me. When I did a Google search of the CDF Drum issue, this is what was quoted: "The 2018 Ford Mustang GT with the 10R80 transmission can experience issues with the CDF (Clutch-Drum-Forward) drum, specifically with its bushing. This problem can lead to slippage, harsh shifting, and potential transmission failure. Ford has addressed this issue with design revisions to the CDF drum, including adding a lip to the bushing to prevent it from moving and causing fluid leaks."

2018 Ford Mustang Echo boost. Engine light came on code P0420 which is the Catalytic Converter and we already new this when bringing it into Ford dealership. We informed the check in Advisor the Transmission feels like it's slipping or jerks when in 2nd Geer which slows down the vehicle. Took it to Ford and was first informed the Transmission was good nothing wrong with it just need to change my Catalytic Converter because that was the code. We changed the Catalytic Converter but when driving still was experiencing the same thing we originally brought it in for which is the Jerking and slowing down upon accelaration. Took it back to Ford they re checked it and said the CDF Drum is failing and to repair it would cost $4000. I don't have $4000 and my vehicle is out of warranty because of the mileage.

transmission solenoid malfunction (p0757). car came to an abrupt stop in the middle of a speeding boulevard for no external reason at all. there was no prior impact or damage. i almost got rear-ended and t-boned ten times. considering the amount of complaints on this ford transmission 10R80, i firmly believe this transmission needs to be recalled and our repair/damage expenses reimbursed. Thank you.

2018 Ford Mustang with 10R80 10 speed transmission. Bronco like action when slowing almost whiplash like , stalls when stopping sometime, very hard shift jerking, hard downshifting when slowing, clunking into reverse, loss of power suddenly on the FREEWAY!!!!!!!!!, very hot transmission temperatures (230+), limp mode, Very unsafe if in any FORD or other vehicles have the 10R80. Immediate recall is needed, immediate acknowledgement by FORD MOTOR COMPANY is needed here so all the multiple lawsuits can stop and safety can / should be the top priority here. SAFETY 1ST.

The contact owns a 2018 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that his son parked the vehicle and set the parking brake and exited the vehicle; however, the rolled away and crashed into a tree. The contact stated that after the failure, he researched online and found a recall for rollaway failures however, the vehicle was not manufactured in the date range of the recalled vehicles. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V213000 (Power Train) as the possible cause of the failure. The contact spoke with the local dealer and was made aware that the manufacturer was very rigid when it came to vehicles that were not included in a recall even if the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The contact was also informed that the manufacturer would not help if the VIN was not included in the recall. As a result, the rear bumper was dented, and the contact was unsure if the panel under the trunk was cracked. The contact stated that his son remembered shifting the vehicle into park and applying the parking brake. The contact stated that he heard a chime before exiting the vehicle but had not checked to identify the source of the sound. No injuries were sustained. No medical attention was required. A police report was not filed. The contact had assistance with placing the vehicle back into the initial parking space. The dealer was notified, and the contact was advised to schedule an appointment for the vehicle to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000.

My 2018 Ford Mustang with Automatic Transmisson recently(Sept) started having issues with the gear shift being placed in Park, but the instrument panel is not illuminated in Park. If driver door is open, and keys removed, the chime may or may not sound. Research is showing same issue being reported and recalls were done due to missing roll pin that attaches the park pawl rod guide cup to the transmission case, and unseated transmission gear shift cable clip. If the parking brake is not applied, this could result in unintended vehicle movement, increasing the risk of injury or crash. The recalls only covered vehicles manufactured at a certain plant. However, my VIN # is not included in recalls. Due to safety concerns that my vehicle may lose Park function and roll away, causing damage/harm to others, I feel it should be included in the recall programs and repaired at no cost to me. I have not taken vehicle to Dealership at this point, as they will charge me $150 diagnostic fee.

The contact stated when he had parked his vehicle at his residence driveway and returned later, the vehicle had rolled forward 200 feet into a neighboring parking lot. The vehicle had been stopped by a parking block causing damage to the driver’s side rear fender. Additionally, there was damage to the front-end undercarriage due to climbing over the parking blocks. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started the check transmission warning light was illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle to a local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V213000 (Power Train). The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 48,198.

10 speed Ecoboost transmission, doesn't stay in gear and delayed shifts causing acceleration problems. Hard shifts, jerking, and hard lunge forward when shifted into Drive. The forward lunge is unstoppable even with the brake fully engaged. Transmission slip when changing gears while driving. Yes, it's available for inspection. Yes, mine and others safety risk are at risk. Yes, the problem has been reproduced and confirmed by a dealer. Inspected by an authorized dealer/manufacturer. NO other warning lamps or messages.

The transmission failed while driving on a busy street making a left turn. My safety and my passenger's safety was at risk because there was oncoming traffic when I made a left turn and a car was trailing me. Just like another complaint, "10 speed transmission did not engage then failed less than a second later while pulling into an intersection. This caused the car to enter the intersection but fail to go forward more than a few feet. The problem resolved after three attempts to go forward by pumping the gas peddle. The transmission also was jerking or jumping from 1st through 3rd gear as if the car could not find the correct gear to be in while going forward. The problem resolved after the first mile of driving". However, for me the problem returned again once I turned the car off, and restarted it. After less than a mile of driving, the transmission began malfunctioning again jumping, and jerking until the transmission just stopped working altogether. Someone has posted experiencing the same malfunction on the same model and year vehicle and I wonder if there are others that have had the same scary, horrible experience? Due to my transmission malfunctioning during my turn, I was lucky that the oncoming car just stopped and blew at me, and the car behind me just went around me instead of crashing into my rear. The car was towed to the dealer and is in the process of being evaluated. There were no warning lights or messages prior to the incident and the automobile is now at the dealership because the vehicle totally stopped driving.

10 speed transmission did not engage then failed less than a second later while pulling into an intersection. This caused the car to enter the intersection but fail to go forward more than a few feet. The problem resolved after three attempts to go forward by pumping the gas peddle. The transmission also was jerking or jumping from 1st through 3rd gear as if the car could not find the correct gear to be in while going forward. The problem resolved after the first mile of driving. This is a recurrent but sporadic issue. The issue has caused near miss collision by another driver thinking my car was going to accelerate when the forward motion stopped but there were no brake lights in indicate the car was not going forward. The jerking and jumping has made it hard to control the car during turns and on slippery road. I have an appointment scheduled for service at a Ford Dealer for them to see if the issue is able to be address.

VEHICLE EXPERIENCES RANDOM NON REPEATABLE PERIODS OF HARD SHIFTING, REFUSAL TO GO INTO GEAR, GRINDING GEARS, JERKINESS AND WHAT FEELS OCCASIONALLY LIKE TRANSMISSION SLIPS. WHEN IT OCCURS IT MOSTLY HAPPENS UNDER HEAVY ACCELERATION SUCH AS TRYING TO GET UP TO SPEED ON AN ON RAMP OR TRYING TO GET TO HIGHWAY SPEEDS BUT NOT ALWAYS. RECENTLY WHILE TRAVELING IN A 45MPH ZONE I ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT INTO 3RD GEAR. CLUTCH WAS FULLY DEPRESSED AND NOTICEABLE GEAR GRINDING HAPPENED AND AN IMMEDIATE SECOND ATTEMPT RESULTED IN SAME RESULT. HAD TO SHIFT TO 4TH CAUSING VEHICLE TO BE IN UNACCEPTABLE GEAR RANGE FOR CURRENT SPEED. SERVICE APPOINTMENT AT DEALERSHIP MADE JUNE 10TH 2020. ISSUE HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES PREVIOUSLY BUT SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE. LAST KNOWN INCIDENT HAPPENED JUNE 11 2020 AT APPROXIMATELY 3:30 PM EST ONE DAY AFTER MAKING APPOINTMENT WITH DEALERSHIP. *TR

I BOUGHT MY FORD MUSTANG ON JUNE 2018. WHEN THE MILES HIT 30,000, THE ENGINE SHAKES EVERY TIME MY VEHICLE STARTS, AND MY WHOLE CAR SHAKES NOTICEABLY WHEN IDLING. THE EXHAUST GAS FLOW FROM THE CAR HAS OBVIOUS INTERMITTENT, MEANWHILE, THE EXHAUST PIPE SHAKES A LOT, AND YOU CAN CLEARLY HEAR THE "BURST" SOUND OR THUMP. IN ADDITION, MY WHOLE CAR HAS OBVIOUS JITTERS AT LOW SPEEDS OF MORE THAN 2,000, AND THE ACCELERATION IS WEAK. WHEN THE SPEED IS HIGH YOU CAN FEEL A LITTLE LESS JITTERY. IT IS NOT JITTERY UNDER NORMAL OPERATING CONDITIONS OF THE ENGINE. WHEN MY AUTO IS ON D OR R, IT DOESN'T MOVE AFTER I RELEASE THE BRAKE. PLUS, THE VARIABLE BOX OCCASIONALLY MAKES A STRANGE NOISE AND VEHICLE COOLANT DOES NOT WORKING PROPERLY. WHAT SCARES ME THE MOST IS THAT ONE TIME I WAS DRIVING ON L-595 HIGH WAY, MY VEHICLE SHUT DOWN AUTOMATICALLY, I TRIED TO RESTART IT BUT FAILED, I WAS PANIC, I HAD TO WAIT FOR MORE THAN 10 MINUTES ON THE HIGH SPEED ROAD TO TRY TO RESTART THE CAR AGAIN. LUCKILY I PULLED MY CAR IN THE EMERGENCY LANE, I CAN'T IMAGE IF IT WASN'T. AFTER ALL THOSE, I WENT TO MY DEALER AT PLANTATION FL, THEY CAN FIX FOR ME SINCE MY CAR IS STILL UNDER COVERAGE BUT I DON'T WANT GET IT REPAIRED. I DEEPLY DOUBT WHETHER THE REPAIR WOULD COMPLETELY FIX THOSE ISSUES. PLEASE HELP AND ADVICE IF I CAN GET MY CAR RECALLED? I WAS LOOKING FOR A CAR THAT I ALWAYS WANTED BUT NOT HANGING BY A THREAD.

INTERMITTENTLY, THE CLUTCH PEDAL WILL BE STUCK TO THE FLOOR AFTER PRESSING IT TO SWITCH GEARS. IT HAPPENED TO ME WHEN I WAS GOING FROM NEUTRAL TO 1ST GEAR AND FROM 1ST GEAR TO SECOND GEAR WHICH IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AS THE CAR STALLED AND I ALMOST HIT SOMEONE AND SOMEONE ALMOST HIT ME. IT HAS ONLY HAPPENED TO ME 2 TIMES IN THE LAST MONTH BECAUSE I FOUND THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM. THE CLUTCH RETURN LINE IS AT FAULT BECAUSE IT SEEMS TO BE VERY SHORT. BECAUSE OF IT BEING SHORT, IT HAS A LOT OF TENSION ON IT. BECAUSE OF THE CAR HAVING A FLAT PLANE CRANK, I BELIEVE THE EXCESSIVE VIBRATIONS THAT THE ENGINE CREATES MIGHT MAKE THIS LINE BACK OFF OVER TIME. MY CAR ONLY HAD 5,000 MILES WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND IT WAS VERY FRIGHTENING. THE LINE IS AN INTERFERENCE FIT ON THE FLUID RESERVOIR AND ITS CAUSE THE LINE TO SLOWLY LEAK EVERY TIME YOU TOUCH THE LINE BECAUSE THE SEAL ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH. TO TEMPERATELY REMEDY THIS ISSUE, I HAVE JUST BEEN PUSHING THE LINE BACK ON. THIS ISN'T A GOOD FIX AND FORD NEEDS TO RECALL THESE CARS BECAUSE IT CAN CAUSE A BAD ACCIDENT ESPECIALLY AT SPEED. THE PICTURE ATTACHED IS A PICTURE OF THE LINE THAT IS IN QUESTION. IN THE PICTURE, THE LINE WAS FITTED CORRECTLY ON THE FLUID RESERVOIR. THIS IS JUST TO SHOW THE FAULTY LINE IN QUESTION. I HOPE FORD CAN RECALL THESE CARS ASAP BECAUSE I'M SCARED TO DRIVE IT REALLY.

AT ACCELERATION THE CAR WON'T SHIFT WHEN NEEDED THEN IT'LL AUTOMATICALLY DOWN SHIFT AND STOP ACCELERATING. THE RPM GAGE NEEDLE BOUNCES UP & DOWN WITH & WITH ACCELERATION IMAGED SPEED STILL DECREASES THEN SOMETHING CATCHES AND IT'LL START ACCELERATING & RPM GOING TO HIGH THEN STARTS ALL OVER BEFORE FINALLY WORKING RIGHT.

THE TRANSMISSION GETS STUCK IN GEAR WHEN YOU ACCELERATE HARD, YOU CAN'T TAKE THE CAR OUT OF GEAR AND THE CLUTCH DOES NOT WORK. THE ENGINE CONTINUALLY REVS/SPEEDS UP WHEN NO ONE IS TOUCHING THE ACCELERATOR. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED RIGHT AWAY. THIS WAS DRIVING IN SPORT MODE, THIS HAS NO HAPPENED IN NORMAL MODE.

WHEN PUTTING MY CAR INTO PARK AND DRIVE IT DOESNT WANT TO SWITCH, IT TAKES A WHILE FOR IT TO GET INTO DRIVE. I ALMOST HIT SOMEONE IN FRONT OF ME BECAUSE WHEN I PUT MY CAR INTO DRIVE, I PRESSED THE GAS LIGHTLY AND THE CAR DIDNT MOVE. UNTIL ABOUT 6 SECONDS THEN FLEW FORWARD. ALSO WHEN GETTING AROUND THE 10 MPH SPEED LIMIT, THE CAR JERKS AS IF THE TRANSMISSION ISNT PROPERLY CHANGING GEARS. I ONLY HAVE 10,000 MILES I BOUGHT THE CAR IN OCTOBER 2018 AND FIRST OWNER.

WHEN GETTING UP TO SPEED ON AN ON RAMP OR PASSING ON A TWO LA E ROAD, WHEN SHIFTING INTO THIRD GEAR, THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT GO INTO GEAR. I'VE HAD THIS HAPPEN TWICE, ONCE MY DAUGHTER WAS WITH ME ON A TWO LANE ROAD, GOING FROM SECOND TO THIRD WHILE PASSING, THE CAR WILL NOT ALLOW IT. PEOPLE HAVE NOTED THIS MANY PLACES WHILE RUNNING OUT SECOND GEAR AND SHIFTING INTO THIRD IN MULTI SITUATIONS. THIS IS A HAZARD AND IT IS KNOWN DUE TO THE SHIFTER NOT BEING DIRECT AND USING A REMOTE LINKAGE. AN AFTERMARKET BRACKET AND SHIFTER WILL FIX THIS ISSUE, HOWEVER THIS VEHICLE SHOULD OPERATE SAFELY WITHOUT PURCHASING AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT. SIMPLE LOOK UP MISSED SHIFTS WITH MT-82 MUSTANG TRANSMISSION. YOU WILL SEE MANY WITH THE SAME ISSUE AND AFTERMARKET PARTS TO FIX THIS SAFETY HAZARD.

PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2018 FORD MUSTANG ECOBOOST PREMIUM 10-SPEED WITH PERFORMANCE PACKAGE JULY 21, 2018 WITH 9 MILES. TOOK CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP NOVEMBER 2018 AT 2,600 MILES WITH A POPPING FEELING AND SOUND AS WELL AS AN UNSAFE LOOSE FEELING IN THE REAR END. THIS HAPPENED ANY TIME DRIVING OVER UNEVEN SURFACES, TURNING CURVES AND ACCELERATING. THEY REPLACED THE SHOCK ABSORBER AFTER THE CAR WAS IN THE SHOP 11 DAYS. IN JANUARY 2019 I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH 3,893 MILES. THE CAR WAS STILL MAKING A GRINDING, POPPING SOUND IN THE REAR END AS WELL AS THE FRONT END. THE CAR ALSO STILL FELT LOOSE AS IF WAS GOING TO LOCK UP WHILE DRIVING. THE POPPING, GRINDING HAPPENED WHEN PULLING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY OR PARKING SPACE AS WELL AS SHARP TURNING OF THE WHEELS. THE LOOSE FEELING WAS GOING AROUND CURVES, LEFT OR RIGHT TURNING FROM A STOP LIGHT AS WELL AS ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. THE CAR ALSO FELT AS THOUGH IT WAS NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE FLUID IN THE REAR END AND AFTER 8 DAYS THEY SAID THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IT HAS SINCE BEEN 8 MORE DAYS IN THE SHOP WITH NO WORD. I FEEL THIS CAR IS UNSAFE AS IT IS SUCH A NEW CAR, HAS BEEN BABIED FROM THE FIRST DAY PURCHASED. THE FACT THAT IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP TWICE ALMOST 30 DAYS OF ITS LIFE, UNDER 4,000 MILES AND HAVING THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL REPLACED SHOWS THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THIS CAR. ALL THIS BEING REPORTED TO CARFAX HAS DRASTICALLY REDUCED THE VALUE OF MY CAR SINCE IT DOES NOT REPORT IT AS FACTORY DEFECT BUT RATHER POSSIBLE ABUSE. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS JUST MY CAR OR A SAFETY ISSUE FROM THE FACTORY. I ASKED THE SERVICE MANAGER IF IT WAS POSSIBLE FOR THE CAR TO LOCK UP ON THE HIGHWAY AND HE CONFIRMED IT WAS DEFINITELY A POSSIBILITY. AT THIS POINT I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR NOT KNOWING WHAT ELSE COULD GO WRONG WITH IT.
