I AM CONCERNED BECAUSE ONE 1994 FORD PROBE 2.0 IS AFFILIATED WITH TSB NO. 96-21-3 THAT RECOGNIZES A DEFECT IN THE OIL PUMP. THE DEFECT IS ASSOCIATED WITH LIFTER BLEED DOWN, LOW OR HIGH OIL PRESSURE AND LACK OF POWER. WHILE OPERATING THIS MOTOR VEHICLE IN A TRAFFIC ENVIRONMENT, I MAY NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE EFFICIENTLY AND/OR CEASE THE MOTOR DUE TO IMPROPER DISBURSEMENT OF ENGINE OIL. THIS CONDITION COULD POTENTIALLY CREATE A HAZARD OR ACCIDENT TO MYSELF OR OTHERS

VEHICLE HAS A USED WIRE HARNESS IN FUEL PUMP THAT WILL CAUSE ENGINE TO STALL*AK. *JB
WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY 60MPH+, RPM DROPPED TO ZERO, THEN VEHICLE DIED. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY. THIS HAPPENED 6 TIMES STARTING IN EARLY FEB. 2000. DEALER FOUND A TSB (TRADE SERVICE BULLETIN), AFTER 3 TRIPS TO THEIR SHOP, SHOWING THAT THE DISTRIBUTOR STATOR HAD FAILED IN OTHER FORD PROBES. POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS WHEN A VEHICLE STALLS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY - ESPECIALLY IN A METRO AREA LIKE SEATTLE.
IGNITION COIL IN DISTRIBUTOR DETERIORATES ON 93 & 94 FORD PROBE V-6 MODELS. FORD HAS A TSB FOR THIS PROBLEM. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AS THE ENGINE DIES, AS IF SOMEONE REACHED OVER & TURNED THE IGNITION KEY OFF. IT HAPPENED TO US ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65MPH. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THE YEARS 93 & 94 AND IT IS VERY DANGEROUS. ALSO, COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS VEHICLE ENGINE IS THE WELLS THE SPARK PLUGS SIT IN FILL UP WITH OIL AFTER A PERIOD OF TIME BECAUSE THE FAILURE OF THE GASKETS (VALVE COVER OR SPARK PLUG GROMMETS). AGAIN FORD HAS A TSB ON THIS BUT DOES NOT DO ANYTHING TO HELP THE CONSUMER FIX A DESIGN PROBLEM. IT SHORTS OUT THE ENGINE AND THE PLUG WIRES, DISTRIBUTOR, ROTOR AND ENGINE ALL HAVE TO BE FIXED. VERY EXPENSIVE (OVER $600 FOR THIS AND OVER $700 FOR THE DISBRIBUTOR PROBLEM.

VEHICLE WILL INTERMITTENTLY NOT START, CAUSE UNKNOWN. DEALER CAN NOT IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM. *AK
CONSUMER REPORTING PROBLEM CONCERNING AAA NEWS LETTER ABOUT A DEFECT IN AN ENGINE OIL PUMP. *AK
THE DEFECTIVE ENGINE PISTON BROKE OFF, CAUSING THE ENGINE TO "FREEZE, " WHICH ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. CAUSE UNKNOWN. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
ENGINE STALLING, WOULDN'T IDLE. OIL PAN RUSTED, LEAKING OIL
OWNER WAS DRIVING 70 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY AND SMOKE STARTED TO FILL THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE VENTS. DRIVER WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD SAFELY. A FIRE STARTED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, AND CAUSED THE WHOLE VEHICLE TO BURN. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TOTALLED. *AK
OIL PUMP FAILED CAUSING VEHICLE TO SHUT DOWN.
VEHICLE WAS EXPERIENCING LOSS OF POWER AND KEPT STALLING OUT. DEALER HAS NOT SEEN. *AK
ENGINE FAILURE.
THE VALVE COVER GASKETS LEAKED AND OIL ENTERED THE SPARK PLUG TUBES.
COOLING SYSTEM BELT BROKE, CAUSING LOSS OF POWER.
HEAD GASKET BLOWN.
INTERMITTENT STALLING.
WATER PUMP REPLACED.
THERMOSTAT REPLACED.
VEHICLE BLOW BLUE SMOKE CAUSING VEHICLE TO STALL. DLRS DIAGNOSIS: CHECK VALVE ALLOWS FUEL DISTRIBUTION FROM PUMP TO ENGINE CAUSING VEHICLE TO STALL. TT
