The transmission stutters at sustained modest speed (25-45 mph). It was taken to the dealer, who determined it was affected by tsb 25-2134. This is a widely known issue and the dealer refused any servicing without payment. This should have been a recall, since hundreds of known issues in and out of warranty have occurred.
The automatic transmission and related transmission control system malfunctioned. The vehicle experienced improper shifting and loss of gears, including a condition in which 4th gear is disabled due to a failsafe logic triggered by the transmission control module. The vehicle and all affected components are currently available for inspection upon request and are at a Ford-authorized dealership. This malfunction posed a safety risk because the vehicle was unable to shift normally or maintain consistent acceleration. The unpredictable shifting and loss of gears could create hazardous situations when merging, accelerating, or driving at highway speeds, potentially endangering the driver and others. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by a Ford dealership. After inspection and diagnostic testing, the dealership advised that the transmission requires replacement. The vehicle has been inspected by a Ford-authorized dealer. It has not been inspected by the manufacturer directly, police, or insurance representatives (UNKNOWN). Prior to the failure, warning messages and drivability symptoms were present. Specifically, the transmission control module detected an issue when attempting to shift into 4th gear, triggering a failsafe mode that disabled 4th gear for the remainder of the key cycle. These symptoms appeared before the full transmission failure and progressively worsened over time.
Transmission shifting issues. Will shift out of gear or delay shifting several seconds and sometimes limited power. The 1080r 10 speed transmission has a know design flaw that was finally fixed in 2023. My 2019 is now having the issue and is $8000 to fix for a bushing that moves out of place
Truck looses gear when pulling into traffic. It will shift out of gear and only allow coasting. At speeds of 40 MPH and higher it will down shift causing dramatic reduced speed with no brake warning to other drivers behind. It will also randomly loose power. It will have delayed shifts squealing tires upon shifting and excessive jerking that is uncontrollable.
I have had my 2019 Ford Ranger in for service to address issues with the transmission on 3 different occasions starting in Fall of 2023. Each time paying $106 for the deductible on the warranty to service a "Technical Service Bulletin" (TSB). Each time, being told of a different TSB that they would be addressing. Never addressing them all at the same time. In May of 2025, still experiencing the same/similar issues, I brought in in again only to be told that there was a TSB that they did not service, that my warranty had expired. Upon searching the internet, there are many people reporting similar issues with a similar response from Ford. I have spoken to multiple dealerships as well as reached out to Ford car with little to no response.
I’ve been noticing a delay in shit out of 1st, 3rd, 6th, and 9th gear. Sometimes it slams but most of the time not. Anyways, this morning on my way to work I passed a slow driver on 2 lane road. After I merged back into the lane, I resumed cruise control and basically lost all power to the wheels. The vehicle I passed about slammed into the back of me. I canceled cruise control to give gas and the transmission was fighting me to stay in a gear. It finally caught and I drove it the rest of the way to work with the “normal” 1,3,6,and 9 being weird. My safety and the other vehicles safety was definitely at risk. The was no warning lights that came on. I haven’t had it checked out yet because this is same day
My 2019 Ford Ranger 4x4 was bought new in April of 2019 and has approxiamatly 73,400 miles. Over time a slight glitch in the transission got to be more frequent. When first starting out within the first mile of operation, the vehicle would hang between gears and act like it ran out of fuel for a few seconds at low speed, as in pulling out from a stop sign or accelerating from a dead stop. My guess is inbetween first and second or second and third gear. It just wouldn'd go. Fortunatley I was not involved in any accidents. I can see where this could easily cause a mjor accident. There are several TSB's for this transmission and I believe Ford and General Motors use this same transmission. I have had my truck at the dealer for almost a month after it got scary to drive it got scary to drive. They are repairing this and contributing to the cost. I feel ike they no there is a problem and probably should have done a recall before someone gets killed.

My transmission failed on the highway. I was merging on the highway one day and all of a sudden I felt a sudden reduction in power which was dangerous for the people behind me, and heard an awful grinding/whining noise. I immediately limped it to the dealership and was told several days later the transmission (Ford 10R80) had a catastrophic failure and was lucky to get it to the dealership. This is unacceptable and I know I’m not the only one with issues with these transmissions. The dealership told me it happens all the time. This is a safety issue and unacceptable for the truck that is 5 years old.
Own a 2019 Ford Ranger, which is experiencing severe transmission issues including harsh and delayed shifting. A diagnostic scan revealed code P07F7-00, which matches Ford's TSB 24-2046 / 25-2024, related to known defects in the 10R80 10-speed transmission. Despite this being a documented issue, authorized Ford dealerships have refused to properly diagnose the TSB entirely and claiming it was no longer valid. This unresolved defect affects the safety and reliability of my vehicle. I am filing a complaint to request that the NHTSA investigate this widespread problem and consider issuing a recall to address the transmission defect affecting many Ford Rangers (and other vehicles with this transmission). Thank you for your attention to this serious safety concern.
Vehicle lurching and loosing power, almost caused accident. Determined DPFE sensor had water in it, replaced sensor. Problem continued with slipping gears and mis-shift. Transmission fluid was burnt and had metal shavings. Repair was complete transmission replacement. Vehicle has 94000 miles.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Ranger. The contact stated that while driving 65 MPH, the vehicle decelerated to 35 MPH. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the transmission was skipping gear, slipping, and shifting hard. The check engine warning light was briefly illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the head gasket was failing. The dealer stated that coolant was intruding into the engine, and there was engine oil was entering into the spark plugs, causing engine failure. The dealer also diagnosed the vehicle with transmission failure. The head gasket and the transmission were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle needed to be drive more often for the vehicle to run properly. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was taken to another dealer, Mountain Grove Ford (11311 Bus Dr #60, Mountain Grove, MO 65711); and the vehicle was diagnosed with a transmission fluid leak and fractured head gasket. The head gasket was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The transmission jerked abnormally when the vehicle was shifted into park on an incline. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The manufacturer opened a case regarding the failures and extended the warranty for the transmission. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

10R80 Transmission delays Shifts and slams into gear when it does shift extremely hard.Has caused my back pain. This is a known defect caused by the CD&F drum bushing. This problem has almost caused me and my family to be killed at an Intersection since the vehicle will not accelerate while waiting for gear selection.
Transmission failer. Lurches at start up even in park refuses to shift gears
Transmission feels like it is delayed in engaging gears at various speeds. Stop and go traffic is most noticeable. When it does change gears, it often feels jerky. Lower speeds at most noticeable but over 50mph seems to run fine.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Ranger. The contact stated while operating the vehicle, the transmission was shifting while shifting rough from first to second gear. The contact stated that over time, the failure progressed and had occurred while shifting into gear. The contact stated that the failure had self-corrected as the engine warmed up. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic who confirmed that the transmission was faulty. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 77,000.

Transmission is pushing forward from 1st to 2nd gear. Pushing so hard that it hard to stop
Transmission bucks and shutters at low RPM. Dealer did not disclose the transmission issues
The transmission is shifting hard, delay in shifting, and slipping gears. All of this started when my vehicle reached 50,000 miles. Ford has issued a TSB for the issue, but refuses to cover the cost of repairs. Ford is reporting this issue in all 10R80 transmissions installed in several of their models.
The ten-speed transmission "10R80" has Rough and harsh shifting, "upshifts and downshifts," which sometimes causes the vehicle to lunge forward unexpectedly. The dealer has reprogrammed the transmission twice with no change.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Ranger. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked forward while slightly depressing the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. In addition, the transmission was shifting hard while shifting from first through third gear. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed; however, the contact was informed that no fault codes were retrieved. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was referred to a local dealer for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

The 10R80 10 speed transmission in my truck has failed, due to the steel to aluminum drum being different materials it cause pre mature catastrophic failure. the damaged components resulted in needing a full overhaul/rebuild of my transmission at my full expense. my ford dealer stated there is a known tech service bulletin about this exact failure which means ford knows there's a problem but will not fix it. the resulting damage was the sun gear has failed, the drum has failed, and there are chunks missing from gears 5,6 and 7, which also resulted in needing a new valve body, and new torque converter. i opted to take my ranger to a independent shop as i no longer trusted ford to rebuild the transmission correctly and i do also have the failed components. The safety issues were losing all drive train function randomly when in operation, on several occasions this happened on the freeway at freeway speeds, or sitting in stop and go traffic and the the truck would just rev but not go anywhere, both scenarios have happened with my kids in the vehicle putting there lives in danger. Yes the problem has been confirmed by both the ford dealer and the independent transmission shop. yes i brought the parts to the ford dealer to look at, but they do remain in my possession. no, there were lights or indicators that a failure was happening, ive done all the ford recommended maintenance at the time it was due, the hard shift had always been there but i was told that's just how it was on multiple occasions. this is a known issue and i have spoken with several other 2019-2023 ford ranger owners and majority have had the exact same issues occur.
When turning on to another road and accelerating, engine will suddenly loose all power. releasing accelerator will regain some power until vehicle speed increases. Throttle control is often erratic and transmission shifting is inconsistent resulting in hard clunks during shift. Pulling into traffic with a sudden loss of power leaves me vulnerable to a collision.
In my 2019 Ford Ranger, which has 75,570 miles, on [XXX], I was at a stop sign on [XXX] , at [XXX] , near Statesboro, GA, waiting for a break in traffic to safely cross. When a safe break occurred, I proceeded to cross, and at about the halfway point of crossing, the transmission bucked, and the truck began to slow to a halt. As a tractor trailer was bearing down on me broadside, the transmission jumped into gear, and I was able to proceed, and narrowly avoided a broadside collision. Afterward, the warning lamp indicated a powertrain malfunction (wrench) light. I took the truck to my local Autozone, where I used their OBD, and the test result fault was "Power Train System, P07F7-00, Gear 10 Incorrect Ratio". I have an appointment at Metter Ford to repair the issue on January 17th, 2025. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Ranger. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle independently accelerated. The contact turned off the vehicle for the vehicle to stop. Truck has noticeable hard shifts into reverse and drive. Sometimes searching for gear while accelerating.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Ranger. The contact stated while his wife was driving from a complete stop and releasing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle continued to accelerate unintendedly until the brake pedal was depressed. The contact stated the vehicle experienced hard shifts from first gear to third gear. The contact stated that the transmission was slipping while driving in the higher gears. Additionally, the contact stated while attempting to drive from a complete stop on a hill, the vehicle rolled backwards upon depressing the accelerator pedal, nearly causing a crash. The driver turned off and restarted the vehicle, and shifted into drive(D), and the vehicle responded as needed. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the transmission fluid was replaced; however, the failure got progressively worse. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was filed; however, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.

Transmission 10R80, 10 speed. Had HARD shifting, 1st to 2nd gear, excessive engine RPM in 1st gear then dropping hard into 2nd causing tire squawk. Hesitation in power after hard shift causing loss of acceleration, dangerous in heavy traffic. No warning lights and no fault codes produced. Warranty time period expired mid June 2024. Mileage at 52236 was under 60000 limit. Ford dealership refused to cover any costs. Complaints filed with Ford Motor Company twice. Corp refused any support or compensation. Vehicle was taken to independent Certified Mechanic who verified the problems. Mechanic followed Ford Technical Bulletins to make repairs. Three separate steps in the repair process produced no favorable results. Transmission had to be removed and rebuilt with Ford factory OEM parts. Several parts replaced were of new design, indicating Ford knows of the problems and is attempting to redesign the transmission, but NOT supporting customers out of warranty. Since this was our only vehicle a rental was needed for two weeks while the repair process was followed per Ford Technical Bulletins. Total cost of repairs $7301.82 for vehicle 2 months out of warranty with less than 53000 miles. Also having problems with the Sync System that the dealership also refused to even test at no charge. Since we did not feel safe with this vehicle, nor did it seem reliable, we traded the truck in for a Nissan. We are seeking reimbursement for all costs of repairs and rental cars. Ford needs to issue a recall and reimburse customers regardless of miles and warranty expirations. I have receipts for all expenditures and all parts removed and replaced on/in the transmission. Documents can be supplied upon request.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Ranger. The contact stated while driving 65-70 MPH, the transmission was slipping. The wrench symbol was displayed on the instrument panel. The check service manual message was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that there was no warranty coverage on the vehicle for the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

In the past 3 months, my 2019 Ford ranger has had a multitude of issues come up all at once. First, my transmission destroyed a gear and needed to be rebuilt. Next was an engine misfire code that Ford detected, and ended up being spark plugs at 66k miles. The current issue is that my fan clutch failed, causing it to rip off the wiring harness that was nearby that led to the oil pressure sensor. This caused an instant loss in power on the highway and almost caused an accident. This truck has been given servicing on every mileage checkpoint that it was suppose to.
Transmission is in signs of failure. Ford is offering updates to the computer to attempt to remedy the issue. Very similar behavior across all models with this family of 10 speed transmissions. Discouraging for owners just coming out of warranty. TSBs show Ford knows of these issues. No warning lights, violent shifting and worse yet when the vehicle is cold the shift will be missed and make it extremely dangerous when merging into traffic. I feel like I am about to be rear ended every day leaving work. There is no way these transmissions are 'okay' or that this is considered the 'new-norm' that the Ford Dealer is pushing. I have some dash cam footage that I shared with Ford (and on my personal youtube account).
Transmission jerky. Trying to come up with a solution.
Transmission has been slipping from gears 3 into 4th & 7th into 8th. Also check engine light turns on & a wrench symbols. Then a notification pops up on my ford app in my iPhone stating powertrain 4 wheel drive problems. My vechile looses all boost from turbo and un bale to get up to any type of speed within the original engine’s capabilities.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Ranger. The contact stated while driving from a complete stop and up to 45 MPH, the vehicle jerked, lunged, and shuddered while the transmission was shifting gear. There is insufficient shielding to prevent water from reaching the top of the engine. This results in water dripping on the coil packs and also entering the spark plug wells, causing loss of spark and reduced engine output. Over time, this issue also leads to rust in the engine head, potentially resulting in engine failure. Additionally, water can reach the EGR DPFE sensor, causing the engine to hesitate and shutter at various speeds. Both of these issues together cause a misfire when applying the accelerator and will cause the vehicle to initially hesitate then surge forward. Even with the engine cover, the venting at the base of the windshield allows water to drip down on the engine head, causing the above issues. Ford does recognize that there is an issue and have written several TSBs on the it.
i HAVE A 10R80 10 SPEED TRANSMISSION WITH 102,OOO MILES . IT STARTED BUCKING ON ME WHEN CHANGING GEARS AND SOMETIMES FEELS LIKE NO POWER OR SOMETIMES WANTS TO SPEED UP ON ME. KIND OF SCARY WHEN MERGING INTO TRAFFIC ON HIGHWY
The check engine light illuminated after leaving residence and traveling less than 5 miles. Had the vehicle check by a certified ASE mechanic, He stated that my vehicle had a misfire code (PO300), if it was a PO301 OR PO302 or etc, it would indicate a specific coil was misfiring, but the PO300 is a general misfire code. Vehicle is jerking, pulling, bogging down as if doesn't want to go forward or is losing power, mechanic changed the spark pulls the first time thinking it was time due to mileage of the vehicle, and cleared the code. One week later check engine light is back on with the same PO300 code, he says we can try changing the coils next to see if this fixes the problem. I called my local ford dealer, who says the will charge me $167 dollars to diagnose the problem, and tell me whats wrong. After I have already told them what the problem is and what the code is for the problem. Which is the same code i got from my $40 code reader is the same code he got from his $1500 code reader, so what can the tell me for $ 167 that i dont already know and have told them, and from further research on recalls for this vehicle, I have found that they already know this problem exist. Ford should be responsible for repairing this know issue of engine misfires before someone dies from this engine shutting down while driving and causing a fatality on the highway.
The vehicle skips gears when upshifting and does not shift through all the gears when in cruise mode. The truck will buck and bang jolting the passengers and appear to stall out without any warning. This has happened on numerous occasions and has even stalled out in the middle of a very busy intersection almost causing a collision by the truck not having enough power to coast through the intersection. Based on conversations with the dealership, this is not an isolated issue with our vehicle.
My 2019 Ford Ranger (Lariat) has as what I've discovered is a habitual problem that many other Ford Ranger owners are experiencing. While driving at lower speeds (28-40 mph) the trucks transmission will begin to knock and buck very hard. I've noticed, according to the gear indicator, that it is in either 7th or 8th gear. The problem has gotten consistently worse and I'm in fear of greater damage to the mechanics, or worse, a potential accident if it completely gives out while driving. - The truck has not had any modifications what-so-ever that would have in any way affected the transmission.
[XXX] my transmission, went out on my 2019 Ford Ranger 4 x 4. I was driving on the interstate in Houston, TX during the Friday afternoon rush-hour, when I completely lost power. It was very difficult to get off the interstate due to the traffic. I had experienced some transmission issues in the week before it failed there had been some jerking, hesitation, and the truck would lurch forward when accelerating from a stopped position and while driving there was harsh shifting. I had checked the transmission fluid and it was normal. There were no warning messages prior to it going out. I had the truck towed to a Ford dealership where I was told the transmission was still under warranty. It took the dealership nine weeks to repair the transmission. It is now one year later, and I have just started experiencing the same harsh shifting on the interstate, jerking and hesitation. Manufacture defected valve cover allows water to gather and leak into coils causing vehicle to shut down at highway speeds ! This is EXTREMELY dangerous and FORD admitted knowing of the issue and even has an active internal fix but demands payment to fix issue. My service advisor said Ford has known of this issue but would only repair if the customer pays for it. Please take this matter under heavy consideration as I nearly lost my life on [XXX] . I have personally read over 7300 online complaints of similar findings from not only Ford Ranger owners , but mechanics from private shops to Ford certified repair shops. Please , please, please contact Ford customer care, they will tell you there is a know issue that they agree poses a threat to drivers . Thank you very much . 2019 Ranger went into limp mode in traffic at the worst possible time. Error code appeared and referred to transmission fault at roughly 38k. Was taken to ford and I was told PCM just needed updating. By 45k the transmission was right back to shifting rough with sudden shifts jerking the truck. Called Ford to say hey it’s not right still. It’s continuing to downshift from 10th gear at 65mph instantly down to 3rd gear nearly ripping the transmission out. Every Ford dealership within 3.5hrs from me all told me the same thing. “We are told to say it’s normal for the 10r80 to do hard shifts. Ford knows they are a problem but want issue a recall, the only thing you can do it blow up the transmission while your under 60k warranty so they have no choice but to replace it.” Now at 80k I’m screwed and have to spend nearly 8k to fix the transmission ford said was fine.
Transmission is shifting extremely rough, lunges forward or completely disengaged in lower gears. Initially started to happen with cold starts but now continues to happen regardless of the amount of drive time. Completely unsafe when merging into traffic because transmission will either exhibit low power, shift roughly or completely disengage. Transmission has disengaged 5 times so far during initial acceleration. Issue has been confirmed by my Ford dealer. Vehicle is currently being serviced for complete transmission replacement. Dealer has told me that this a frequent complaint that they are experiencing with Ford car owners with the 10R80 transmission.
THE TRANSMISSION "BUCKING" DURING SPEED ACCELERATION. THIS CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO DE-ACCELERATE BEFORE ACCELERATING TO DESIRE SPEED. PROBLEM: PROGRAMIMG OF THE PCM FOR THE TRANSMISSION. ACCORDING TO THE DATA COLLECTED ON THE FORD FORUM THIS PROBLEM AFFECTS ALL FORD RANGER FOR 2019 MODELS.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Ranger. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle lunged forward while shifting gear. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact called the local dealer and scheduled an appointment. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 26,800.

My 2019 Ford Ranger for around 9 months occasionally has a significant loss of power and acceleration from 2nd to 3rd gear. It has become dangerous to drive due to the aforementioned. My vehicle has 54019 and is under the factory power train warranty still. The dealership told me that water had entered the EGR and damaged the sensor. They already knew by their diagnostics test it wasn’t a negligence based issue. The dealership told me at least 5 other Ford Rangers have come in with the same problem and Ford will not recall it even tho they know it’s an issue. I called Ford customer satisfaction. They stated although they say powertrain and related parts in their factory warranty and this is affecting the transmission they could not get authorization to fix the known issue. Please investigate this before people get killed.
I had expressed transmission issues with the service center for over a year. Paid for transmission servicing, reprogramming, and kept all maintenance up to date. All regular maintenance has been performed, and the truck has about 80% highway miles, and been cared for and never abused. Now, Ford is telling me, the entire transmission needs to be replaced, at a high cost, and the truck has about 80k miles on it.
My Vehicle transmission skips second gear going from gear 1 to gear 3 when accelerating from a stopped position. Issue cause jerking and a clunk when gear catches. When this happens, vehicle will temporarily stall until gear catches putting driver and passengers at risk of collision if turning at intersection, proceeding through 2-way stop intersection, or on hills/ on train tracks. My vehicle has never displayed warning lights on the dash. I had the vehicle inspected at a Ford Dealer. Dealership was able to replicate the issue. Dealership related they flashed the TCM, but it did not resolve the issue and recommended replacement of transmission or rebuild. Vehicle is at 62,000 miles and is barely out of warranty. Researching the issue will lead to the Ford Ranger Forum, where multiple other people are experiencing transmission issues with this vehicle.
The vehicle is shifting rough between 2nd and 3rd gear. It has trouble getting up to speed through intersections.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford Ranger. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle hesitated. The contact then stated that the vehicle failed to shift while accelerating. As a result, the contact had to use the automatic shift to manually drive the vehicle. The power train warning light illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that a technician was unavailable at the specific location and advised to take the vehicle to a sister dealer where the vehicle remained and diagnosed that the transmission had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was offered half the cost of the repair, but no further assistance was provided. Purchased this vehicle (2019 Ford Ranger XLT), in 2019. Over the last month or so, started developing a shimmy when starting out, bad shimmy when slowing down. Had the brakes checked, no issue. Continued it get worse, developing harder shimmy when starting and braking, began feeling a delay in shifting gears. Dropped it off where I purchased it, Priority Ford Norfolk, was told that the transmission needed to be replaced. 3 year old truck, transmission went bad. After during research, these particular transmissions (10 speed) was installed in Rangers, F150s, Explorers etc. This transmission issue poses a risk to safety when driving. When slowing down, it had major difficulty down shifting and coming to a smooth stop, it would feel like it was locking up.
This truck we have had in the shop for the transmission 5 different times the truck at all different speeds jerks like the gear is not igniting in then starts to shake the shop has reported that it does not shift properly then yesterday Dec 24th, 2022 the trucks wrench came on the breaks locked up and the power train locked up I have all documents we purchased the truck in March 2022 and have been having this transmission issue since I have contacted Ford numerous times and also emailed numerous times the dealership we purchased the truck from has done nothing except keep reprogramming the computer in the system which is not the issue the transmission is under warranty to 60000 miles and we have been having this issue since June 2022. Now that everything locked up on the vehicle we are not safe to even take the truck out on the road we do not want to get injured no the defective issue causing an accident and someone else getting injured. Ford has done nothing to fix or solve the issue at this point the vehicle has 59105.3 miles on it should not be having these issues and the dealership automotive repair shop not fixing the issue at this point need to buy this vehicle back and not sell it it is to dangerous and can cause injuries. We have been trying since June 2022 to get this truck fixed. 3 months after purchasing it and sales rep that sold it to us at Parkway Nissan, Ford Chrysler just says have to take it to their shop which has not done a thing to fix the issue. 12/24/2022 the power train wrench light came on breaks locked up we had a hard time to even start the truck then the breaks was not properly working and started making a noise.
Transmission clunk jerky and sifting not right. 10r80 transmission just like the f150. Took to ford dealer twice still with same issues. Driving is not safe for roads with traffic and I know others feel the same too
This 2019 Ranger is experiencing jerky and erratic shifting. At low RPM’s (parking lots) it requires excessive RPM’s and resulting speeds to shift between gears. It also clunks when downshifting, feeling like the vehicle was hit by another car.
The 10r80 10 speed Transmission will slip, shutter, stall, jump in and out of gear, slam into gear, and often times will wait till you are at a complete stop to downshift into 1st gear which makes the entire truck lunge forward almost like you’ve been rear ended. I’ve been to 2 different ford dealerships, had my truck in the shop multiple times and all I hear is them telling me that it’s normal and they get these complaints a lot. Long Lewis ford of prattville Alabama will play dumb and hold my truck in their parking lot for a few days then say they found nothing wrong. Collier ford of wetumpka Alabama told me over the phone that the symptoms I’m experiencing are normal and they they will not touch my truck unless it has a wrench light on. A $36,000 truck should not have these issues and it be deemed “normal” or even “acceptable”.
2019 FORD RANGER. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO SHIFTING PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD VIOLENTLY JERK WHEN COMING TO A STOP. THE VEHICLE WOULD ALSO JERK WHEN ACCELERATING AND SWITCHING TO HIGHER GEAR. THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCES LOSS OF POWER AND NO ENGAGED GEARS. THE TRUCK ENGINE WOULD REV UP AND SHIFT HARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE.
2019 FORD RANGER. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO TRANSMISSION ISSUES. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE VIOLENTLY JERKED WHEN COMING TO A STOP. THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF POWER AND NO ENGAGED GEARS. ON SOME OCCASIONS, WHEN DRIVING, THE VEHICLE WOULD QUICKL CHANGE GEARS CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO LURCH 3 OR 4 TIMES. THE DEALER AND MANU FACTURER WERE NOTIFIED AND DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE.
I CHANGED MY OIL AT 5,000 MILES, I HAVE APPROXIMATELY 8,400 MILES ON MY TRUCK NOW. I NOTICED EXCESSIVE FUEL BUILT UP IN MY OIL CATCH CAN. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH A LOT OF PEOPLE WITH THE 2019 FORD RANGER ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I CHECKED MY OIL AND MY OIL WAS SATURATED WITH FUEL. FUEL IS GETTING INTO THE ENGINE OIL.

I HAVE HAD MY 2019 FORD RANGER XLT SUPERCREW IN THE DEALERS SHOP TWICE. BOTH FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION RELATED PROBLEMS. THE FIRST ISSUE HAPPENED JUST SHY OF 20K MILES. THE TRUCK WOULD SHAKE AND JERK WHEN STARTING FROM A LIGHT OR STOP. THE TRANSMISSION WAS PRETTY MUCH OVERHAULED. THE SECOND ISSUE HAPPENED AROUND 8K MILES LATER AS I HIT 28K MILES. THIS TIME THE TRUCK WOULD HESITATE BETWEEN GEARS. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED THE.MODULE FOR A SECOND TIME AFTER FIRST REPLACING IT AT THE TIME THEY OVERHAULED THE TRANSMISSION. IN ADDITION THEY ALSO REPLACED THE CONVERTER. I HAVE BEEN THE ONLY OWNER OF THE VEHICLE AND DON'T MISTREAT IT.

AFTER APPROXIMATELY EACH 500 MILES THE OIL LEVEL RISES TO, AND THEN ABOVE, THE SAFE MAXIMUM FILL MARKER ON THE DIPSTICK. THE OIL SMELLS STRONGLY OF FUEL. DRIVING INCLUDES SHORT COMMUTES IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS (CA 20 MILES) AND LONGER ROAD TRIPS (CA 400 MILES) THE RISING OIL LEVEL APPEARS TO BE THE RESULT OF FUEL LEAKING INTO THE SYSTEM/CRANK CASE. OVER 4,600 MILES (OF 9,000 TOTAL) THE TRUCK HAS HAD MULTIPLE OIL CHANGES DUE TO THIS ISSUE, BUT WITHOUT RESOLUTION; FUEL SMELL AND RISING OIL LEVEL CONTINUE. SERVICES, INCLUDING OIL CHANGES EACH TIME FOLLOW: 23 JUNE 2020 (4,396 MILES) 28 JULY 2020 (4,806 MILES) 8 SEPTEMBER 2020 (5,436 MILES) 26 OCTOBER 2020 (7,238 MILES; HIGH OIL LEVEL AND FUEL VAPOR VALVE FAILURE, W/ ERROR CODE FOR LATTER) 28 DECEMBER 2020 (9,052 MILES) THE FORD DEALERSHIP HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THE PROBLEM IS PERSISTENT AND THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIX THE MATTER BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS NOT SHOWING AN ELECTRONIC ERROR CODE AND FORD HAS NOT ISSUED A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN.
Mileage: 5,000
WHILE COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE TRUCK SURGES FORWARD. IT HAS HAPPENED 6+ TIMES WITHIN 16,000 MILES, EVERY TIME IT FEELS LIKE I WAS JUST REAR ENDED BY THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME. FORTUNATELY, NO ACCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED AS A RESULT OF THIS. THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION BUMPS THE TRUCK FORWARD ANYWHERE FROM 10 TO 15 FEET AS I AM SLOWING DOWN. IT HAPPENS FROM 5MPH AND UNDER. THE TRANSMISSION WAS CHECKED BY THE DEALER BUT NO ISSUE WAS FOUND. THE TRUCK IS CURRENTLY AT A FORD DEALER FOR THE SECOND TIME FOR THIS ISSUE. THEY ARE REPLACING THE GAS PEDAL.
Mileage: 18,000
2019 FORD RANGER WITH LESS THAN 600 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. THE DRIVE SHAFT FELL OUT. WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY ABOUT 60 MPH I STARTED NOTICING A STRONG VIBRATION. WHEN EXITING THE HIGHWAY THE VIBRATION BECAME A VIOLENT SHAKE AND BANGING NOISE.
Mileage: 600
LEASED THE RANGER IN OCTOBER OF 2019. FROM THEN UNTIL NOW THERE HAVE BEEN MORE THAN 6 INSTANCES WHERE THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER HAS BEEN PLACED IN PARK, BUT THE TRUCK HAS FREELY ROLLED AWAY. THIS HAS HAPPENED IN MY DRIVEWAY, WHILE PARKED ON A BUSY STREET, IN A CROWDED PARKING GARAGE IN DENVER, AND A COUPLE OF OTHER PLACES. I'VE BEEN LUCKY EACH TIME IT ROLLED AWAY IN AN AREA CROWDED WITH PEDESTRIANS OR TRAFFIC HEAVY BECAUSE I'VE BEEN ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR AND JUMP BACK IN AND PULL THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, WITHOUT SOMEONE GETTING RUN OVER. IN THE PARKING GARAGE A FRIEND OF MINE WOULD HAVE BEEN PINNED BETWEEN THE TRUCK AND A CONCRETE WALL IF SHE HAD BEEN JUST ONE SECOND SLOWER WALKING AROUND THE TRUCK. WE HAD JUST PARKED AND WERE GOING TO WALK TO THE ELEVATOR AND WERE TOO BUSY TALKING TO NOTICE THE TRUCK WAS ROLLING TOWARD US. RIGHT AFTER SHE WAS OUT OF THE PATH WE HEARD SOMETHING BEHIND US AND TURNED TO SEE IT HAD HIT THE WALL, ABOUT 3 INCHES AWAY FROM THE BACK OF HER LEGS. I'VE TAKEN THE TRUCK INTO 2 DEALERSHIPS TO HAVE IT REPAIRED AND THEY SAY THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS WITNESSES THAT HAVE SEEN ME PLACE THE TRUCK IN PARK, ONLY TO HAVE IT MOVE ON ITS OWN, BUT LUTHER FAMILY FORD IN FARGO, ND AND FORD MOTOR COMPANY CUSTOMER CARE HAVE TOLD ME THAT THEY DO NOT ACCEPT WITNESS ACCOUNTS FOR ANY ISSUE ON THEIR VEHICLES. THEY HAVE SAID THAT IF A WARNING LIGHT DOESN'T ILLUMINATE OR AN ERROR CODE ISN'T RECORDED IN THE DIAGNOSTICS THEN A PROBLEM DOES NOT EXIST. BUT THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM, THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE AND MAY END UP KILLING SOMEONE THE NEXT TIME IT HAPPENS. I'M A DISABLED VETERAN AND HAVE SOME MOBILITY ISSUES, THE NEXT TIME I MAY NOT BE FAST ENOUGH TO GET TO THE TRUCK TO PULL THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, OR I MAY NOT BE FAST ENOUGH TO MOVE IF I'M IN THE PATH OF THE TRUCK , AND THEN I'LL BE THE ONE CRUSHED UNDERNEATH THE RUNAWAY POS.

SOMETIMES TRUCK STAYS IN GEAR AFTER SHIFTING INTO PARK. HAS ROLLED FORWARD AFTER I EXITED THE VEHICLE. LANE KEEP ASSIST HAS MISJUDGED LANE & TURNED THE WHEELS SHARPLY CAUSING UNWANTED LANE CHANGE. PRE COLLISION WARNING OFTEN SOUNDS ALARMS & SHOWS VISUAL WARNINGS WITH NO TRAFFIC NEARBY, THE SYSTEM HAS EMERGENCY BRAKING & I'M AFRAID OF IT APPLYING BRAKES WHEN I'M ON THE INTERSTATE. CRASH DETECTED AUDIBLE & VISUAL WARNINGS OFTEN APPEAR WHEN THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A CRASH. DRIVER'S DOOR MIRROR IS NOT SECURE, VIBRATES/RATTLES WHEN TRUCK IS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. FRONT & REAR DIFFERENTIALS MAKE GRINDING NOISES & FRONT END JUMPS, WHEELS LOCK UP WHEN USING 4X4L. DOES NOT ALWAYS SHIFT INTO 4X4H. VEHICLE HAS OVERHEATED & STALLED WHILE IN TRAFFIC. PEDESTRIAN DETECTION SYSTEM IS NON-FUNCTIONAL. A MAN STEPPED OFF THE SIDEWALK IN FRONT OF MY TRUCK ON MONDAY, JAN 06 2020, I WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 15-20 MPH. LUCKILY I SAW HIM IN TIME AND PUT THE BRAKES ON, WHEN I CAME TO A STOP THE MAN WAS A MERE 2" FROM THE FRONT OF MY TRUCK & WE WERE BOTH EXTREMELY SHAKEN. HAD I APPLIED THE BRAKES 1 SECOND LATER THE MAN WOULD BE DEAD. THE PEDESTRIAN DETECTION SYSTEM NEVER ALERTED ME TO THE PEDESTRIAN WITH ANY TYPE OF WARNING, AUDIBLE OR VISUAL. THE SYSTEM NEVER ASSISTED WITH EMERGENCY BRAKING AS A RESULT. THE PARKING & CROSS TRAFFIC SENSORS RARELY WORK CORRECTLY, ALMOST NEVER DETECT CROSS TRAFFIC WHEN PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT. I CAN PULL UP TO A VEHICLE, WITH MY FRONT LICENSE PLATE TOUCHING THE RECEIVER BAR ON THE HITCH OF THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME BEFORE THE SENSORS DETECT THE VEHICLE. AS A DISABLED VETERAN I'M MORE CAUTIOUS THAN MOST, BUT ALL OF THESE ISSUES, OF WHICH THERE ARE MORE, MAKE THIS TRUCK A SEVERE HAZARD, I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT. DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO SERVICE ANYMORE, HAS BEEN IN SHOP 5 TIMES, THEY HAVE WITNESSED SOME ISSUES BUT WON'T ACKNOWLEDGE THEM. UPLOADED LIST OF DEFECTS

I HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED TWICE OF A RECALL BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION MAY NOT BE IN THE GEAR INDICATED. CONTACTED THE DEALER TWICE AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THEY ARE NOT DOING RECALL WORK FOR 2 TO 3 MONTH'S. SO IN THE MEANTIME MY TRUCK CAN ROLL AND INJURE MYSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE OR DAMAGE PROPERTY.
TAKATA RECALL- I WAS RECENTLY IN A CAR ACCIDENT WITH MY 2019 FORD RANGER AND WHEN I PRESSED THE BRAKE THE WOULD NOT APPLY SO I CONTINUED TO PUMP THE BRAKE AND WOULD NOT APPLY AS I APPROACHED THE OTHER VEHICLE THE PRECOLLISON ASSIST TURNED ON AND STILL NOTHING AS I HELD THE BRAKES DOWN CAUSING AN ACCIDENT
