AFTER RESEARCH HAVE FOUND THIS IS A VERY COMMON OCCURRENCE ON THIS VEHICLE. WONDERING WHY FORD HAS NOT DOWN SOMETHING ABOUT IT. BOUGHT A FORD TAURUS BECAUSE WE THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A VERY SAFE CAR FOR A YOUNG DRIVER.

SINCE 2004, I HAD TO HAVE MY ENGINE REBUILT IN 2009 THE COST WAS 1,700, DUE TO FAILURE IN THE COOLANT SYSTEM"PROBABLE CAUSE WAS THE COOLANT SYSTEM ERODED', AND STILL HAVE COOLANT ISSUES, THE REPAIRS ON THE COOLANT WAS ALMOST 700. AFTER THOSE REPAIRS WERE CONDUCTED, I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO GRAND PRAIRIE FORD, BECAUSE MY CAR WOULD NOT CHANGE GEARS. GRAND PRAIRIE FORD PRESENTED ME A REPAIR LIST STATING AT THAT POINT MY CAR NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION AND WOULD COST ANOTHER 3,000 TO REPAIR. I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO EAGLE TRANSMISSION IN IRVING, TEXAS. THE MANAGER TOLD ME NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND IN FACT IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL ERROR AND THAT THE BRAIN WOULD HAVE TO BE RECALIBRATED. I HAD THE CAR TOWED BACK TO GRAND PRAIRIE FORD TO HAVE THE BRAIN RECALIBRATED. THE CAR AT THAT POINT DROVE OFF THEIR LOT JUST FINE. GRAND PRAIRIE FORD WOULD NOT GIVE ME AN ANSWER ON WHY THEY TRIED TO TELL ME THAT I NEEDED PARTS WHEN IN FACT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THEM. THEY DID STATE THEY REPLACED THE SEAT BELTS DUE TO THE RECALL. MY DRIVER SEAT BELT DISENGAGES STILL WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE TO REPLACE THE TIRES SEVERAL TIMES A YEAR DUE TO SUSPENSION ISSUES'BALL JOINTS,TIRE RODS,STRUTS,SHOCKS', EVEN AFTER REPAIRS WERE CONDUCTED IT HAS BEEN A CONTINUING ISSUE NOW COSTING SEVERAL THOUSANDS. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO HAVE THIS CAR INSPECTED IN 2 YEARS DUE TO EMISSION CONTROL. I HAVE REPLACED ALL OF THE DEFECTIVE PARTS AND STILL THE CAR WILL NOT PASS. ALSO THIS CAR WAS A SPLIT YEAR MODEL AND HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE WHEN REPLACING ANY PARTS. I DO HAVE EVERY RECEIPT FOR ALL REPAIRS AND PARTS THAT HAVE BEEN BOUGHT FOR THIS CAR AND THE FALSIFIED STATEMENT FROM GRAND PRAIRIE FORD AND A LETTER FROM EAGLE TRANSMISSION TO PROVE THIS STATEMENT THAT I HAVE MADE TODAY IS TRUE. HOWEVER, I STILL HAVE A CAR THAT I CAN NOT DRIVE BECAUSE IT WOULD BE ILLEGAL AND FORD MOTOR CO. DOES NOT HONOR THEIR VEHICLE. *TR

I STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND STARTED TO GO WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND HALF WAY THROUGH THE LIGHT THE TRAINS SLIPPED OUT OF GEAR AND WOULDN'T ENGAGE UNTIL THE RPM WENT DOWN. THIS IS ONLY ONE OF MANY TIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED AND AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE. DRIVING AT 65MPH WITH THE CRUISE ON. THE RPM'S GOES TO 6000 WITH NO WARNING AND NO LIGHTS ON THE DASH. I TURN THE CRUISE OFF AND THE RPM'S DROP. I NOW START TO ACCELERATE AND THE RPM'S JUST GO UP AND THE CAR DOESN'T MOVE FORWARD. I JUST GET THE CAR OFF THE ROADWAY BEFORE I AM REARENDED THANK GOD. ONCE ON THE SHOULDER OF THE ROADWAY I TRY ALL GEARS WITH NOTHING BUT HIGH RPM'S. I SIT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY FOR 1 HOUR WITH 18 WHEELERS GOING BY JUST INCHES FROM ME UNTIL A TOW TRUCK ARRIVES. IT HAS 103K MILES AND THE AUTO TRANS WAS SERVICED (FILTER/FLUID CHANGED) EVERY 35K MILES. WE WILL GET AN ESTIMATE FOR THE REPAIR/REPLACEMENT, HOWEVER I SUSPECT A BILL FROM $1500-2200 IS IN ORDER. HE REPLACED IT WITH A HIGHER QUALITY TORQUE CONVERTER. WE CONTACTED FORD, AND EXPLAINED THAT THE CAR ONLY HAD 56, 000 MILES ON IT AND THAT A TRANSMISSION SHOULD NOT FAIL AFTER ONLY 56,000 MILES WHEN IT HAS BEEN MAINTAINED AND TAKEN CARE OF. FORD REFUSED TO HELP IN ANY WAY AT ALL. THEY WERE NOT CONCERNED THAT WE WERE LEFT STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE AFTER DARK, WITH NO WARNING THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG. THEY DID NOT CARE THAT OUR SAFETY HAD BEEN COMPROMISED BECAUSE OF A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT THAT FORD MADE. *NM

THIS FAILURE ON MY 2000 FORD TAURUS WAGON WITH 77,000 MILES WAS A COMPLETE SURPRISE AS MY PREVIOUS CAR WAS A 1992 FORD SABLE WAGON THAT I SOLD WITH 395,000 MILES ON IT AND ALL THE MAJOR ORIIGINAL COMPONENTS IN GOOD WORKING ORDER. A LITTLE EARLIER AND THE CAR COULD HAVE DIED ON ME IN FAST MOVING HEAVY RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ON ON I-684. THE ROTTEN LINES WERE SUBSEQUENTLY REPLACED AT A COST APPROACHING $400 FOR PARTS/LABOR. OVER THE PAST TWO AND A HALF YEARS CONSUMER HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING REOCCURRING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE. THE FIRST INCIDENT CONSUMER HAD THE FORD MECHANIC CHECK ON A PERSISTENT TRANSMISSION LEAK, WHICH WAS CORRECTED. AFTERWARD THE TRANSMISSION HAD IT'S FIRST FAILURE AND QUIT PULLING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO FORD FOR REPAIRS. CONSUMER REQUESTED ASSISTANCE WITH AN ADJUSTMENT IN COST BUT WAS DECLINED. THE VEHICLE STILL LOSES POWER AND STOPS PULLING FOR A BRIEF PERIOD OF TIME. I HAVE HAD THE RACK AND PINION REPLACED IT HAS FAILED AGAIN. THE FRONT HALF SHAFTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED THEY HAVE FAILED AGAIN. I HAVE PAID FOR MANY FOUR WHEEL ALIGNMENTS WHICH WON'T HOLD. I'VE PAID FOR NEW BRAKES AND MANY TIRE AND WHEEL BALANCNING WHICH ALSO HAVEN'T HELPED. CARL GREGORY FORD DOESN'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE FRONT END OF MY CAR AND REFUSE TO DO ANY OTHER REPAIRS UNTIL THE ENGINEER DRIVES IT. I'VE HAD ONE APPOINTMENT WITH THE ENGINEER FOR WHICH HE DIDN'T SHOW UP. THE NEXT APPOINTMENT IS JULY 29 WHO KNOWS WHAT RUN AROUND I WILL GET THEN.
