loss of steering likely to wreck because of no power steering. My safety and my family was put at risk during this process. The problem has been reproduced at the car repair shop. Warning light activated and message on dash. 15S18 is the recall number for make and model. I was told Ford will not fix by a customer representative.

In March of 2025 my vehicles driver assist lights started blinking coming out of my apt complex and within 15 seconds I couldn't even turn the wheels at all. Ive had several mechanics run their computer to diagnose the issue and was told that this make model and year has a recall for loss of steering which is an electrical issue. I called Ford themselves and they refused to even look at my car. I cannot find a mechanic who will even repair this electrical issue. Car is in perfect condition. Just replaced all 4 tires in January 2025 and oil change.

My electric power steering quit in August 2024 my car is not one of the recalls, but my steering went out automatically out and I could not steer the car. I had it replaced at a Ford company. I bought the part for O’Reillys had it put on in 2024 in August and turn around and had to have one put on in March 20 25 and then it has gone out again and I just got my car back last week so I’m just wondering if the very first time it went out was it a recall because I had to pay a lot of money I have it done at Wynn Odom Ford in Lagrange nc

While driving to work in my 2013 Ford Taurus I went to take a left and the power steering was suddenly gone and the steering wheel was hard to turn. I nearly hit another car and had to brake hard to miss it. I parked at work and after work I started the car and it was fine until about a mile before I got home. Then it happened again and I could hear a scraping like sound when I turned. The steering became very jerky and resistant at lower speeds but I never got a warning light or message. I brought the vehicle in to an independent mechanic, where it was discovered that the power steering control module (PSCM) had failed and needed to be replaced as well as the rack and pinion. I looked into recalls for the 2013 steering issue and found one but was told my VIN wasn't included. WHY NOT?? I have seen over 600 complaints in regard to this! When are you going to do something about this? AFTER SOMEONE DIES???? How many complaints need to be made before something gets done????

Just recently, my power steering started to fail when it’s in ‘S’ gear (I just started using it a few weeks ago). The steering wheel gets catchy and can be difficult to control, especially going around corners. It’s intermittent and it didn’t start until I started to use the ‘S’ gear. I had the power steering checked by a mechanic and they said it’s functioning properly. I do believe my car should be included in this recall before the steering goes out and something catastrophic happens. By the way, now that I’ve stopped using the ‘S’ gear, the glitchy steering issue has subsided.

Had gone shopping and the car suddenly had no steering. Managed to get it parked without causing a wreak, but without any warning a message appeared on the dash "Power Steering Fault". The car no longer has any steering, power steering fluid was good, no codes where shown. I have researched this before sending this message, seems there are a lot of Ford cars of various models having the same issue. The recall on the Ford Taurus shows that only certain months for the same year of car as mine 2013, are going to be covered in the recall. My car was made after the cut off month but with the SAME issues. Just wondering why only certain months were on the recall instead of the whole year?

Today the first incident happened when my car was parked. I started it and the light came on that said power steering assist fault and the steering wheel was locked so I was unable to drive my car at all. I cut the car off and cut it back on and it fixed the issue. Later, I drove the car and it locked up on me as I was driving. I was going about 25 miles an hour and almost ran into a guard rail thankfully, I was able to park and have it towed to a mechanic shop I called the Ford dealership. They said that there’s no recall on my car, but I do see that there was a recall for other vehicles for the same issue for the power steering motor, which is electric, it is a harm to me my daughter and others. I could potentially wreck my car, but others have had theirs repaired because it is a recall.

I was driving, with absolutely no warning the steering wheel tightened up and wouldn’t turn. I had to take evasive actions to avoid a crash and park. My vehicle has a recall in the system but was apparently not apart of it. I am unsure exactly what part is causing the issue whether it is the electronic power steering motor or the power steering rack itself. Upon request I can provide the item for inspection. The vehicle and parts have not been assessed by any outside source.

Started my car up then put it in drive, when my traction control light turned on, and my power steering assist light also turned on my dashboard as I was driving out of my on street parking spot. I lost all power to my steering wheel , and was unable to turn it so I could attempt to safely move back over to far right lane, as I was in downtown traffic. This is so scary and terrifying. It's my second car ever which I worked really hard for. I tried to turn car off, and restart it like Google said, but it was the same loss of steering. The car is sitting at my parents house.

My 2013 Ford Taurus SHO has been having power steering assist faults at startup for a while, it would not let me turn the wheel even with great force (higher than pre-power steering cars). I would be able to restart the car and have the issue go away immediately like nothing happened. These faults happened randomly and usually weeks or months apart. This past weekend the fault happened while I was driving around a bend at 45mph and I lost steering as it essentially locked the steering wheel in place and felt as if I would break something rather than it being just unassisted, manual steering. And as mentioned this occurred while I was still driving, but I was able to come to a stop safely this time. Had it been just 30 seconds before I would have crashed as I wasn't able to steer at all, no matter the speed as I slowed down. This issue is similar/identical to recall 15V340000 which should cover this vehicle but for some reason doesn't when looking up by VIN.

I was driving down the road about 50 mph when all of sudden my steering wheel locked up was nearly impossible to turn I had to try to keep it on the road and slow down as quickly as I could it took all my force to turn the wheel and it was not turning like it normally did it would like skip a beat and not really turn the wheel this is a common problem with 2013 ford taurus some are recalled mine However was not but after searching the web many other people have the same issue but not covered under the recall but exactly the same issue now ford turned a recall into a customer satisfaction program However I am the 2nd owner of this car was never notified by ford or the original owner of the customer satisfaction program so apparently they turned a recall into a csp and if it's past 10 years or 150 thousand miles ford will no longer fix it as I said before I was never notified by ford or the original owner this has caused 16 accidents all together almost caused me to crash I have seen many post of people doing 60 plus mph around a corner and lose steering causing a an accident these cars are not safe on the road with these steering racks it's a dangerous recall ford should have to cover it wether it's been 10 years or 150 thousand miles I'm the 2nd owner never notified I can't afford 3 grand just for the rack I can't get to work now because I live in the middle of no where and ford refuses to fix the problem this easily could have caused a head on accident killing me and the other people involved in the collision with iver 16 accident and 4 of them having injuries and not being notified of this issue I feel as it should be fixed by ford and a recall can't be turned into a csp with a restriction on how many miles or years u can have or they don't have to fix there own recall now im without a car without a job and ford refuses to fix the problem they know they created this is super dangerous and could lead to many more accidents please look into this

Was driving and my electrical power assist came on and I ran off the road twice because I had no steering. So I eventually got it home and called Ford and talked to a rep and they said there is a recall but it is VIN sensitive. But of course my vin wasn’t one in the recall. Which is crazy because it has all the symptoms as the recall but won’t cover mine. I could have been really hurt as well as my daughter and it’s just crazy if there’s a recall then it should cover all the vehicles with in the year and model. Not just certain ones especially when I have same exact symptoms as recall

Please allow submission of additional information regarding issues with my 2013 Ford Taurus Police Interceptor. As stated on the previous complaint filed on 1/9/2024, I got my car service at AutoNation Ford Service Center on 12/16/2023, and I brought it back to the service center on Saturday, 12/23/2023 because of the car’s poor performance and engine had laminated on 12/17/2023. I went to pick up the car on Thursday 12/28/2023 in the morning, the Ford representative said the car is fine, and there is nothing wrong with the car. I say thank you and drive off. So, I am driving the car for about 5 minutes, it feels sluggish. Then the engine light comes on, I make a U turn and return the car to AutoNation Ford for service. As things stand now, my car is still AutoNation Ford service center, due to the defects which are causing poor performance while driving the 2013 Ford Taurus Police Interceptor, issues such as: Rough Steering, Bad Ignition Switch, and braking issue. Per my previous statement, I drove the car for about on 12/28/2023, it felt extremely sluggish. The hard shifting in vehicle, and steering wheel was rough . The brakes have more issues than normal. The engine light came on.

This '2013 Ford Taurus was purchased brand new Feb. '2013. Up until 3 months ago the car has been perfect. Since then I have had issues with the power steering locking up when first starting, but then after a minute or so it's fine. A week ago it locked up and would not release. A warning showed on my dash screen related to the issue. It was towed to a local repair shop who explained it has Electronic Steering and that it is probably a failing rack/motor/control module which are part of the rack & pinion assembly. Ford's two safety issues dated May 27, 2015 state: requires either a software update for the power steering control module or to replace the steering gear. When I contacted Ford locally they claim my vin # shows the car was assembled in Chicago and a recall does not appy. A recall # showing many steering complaints is: 15V340000. A case file has been created at Ford corporate C/S Support related to a recall concern. How can Ford use this "assembly" issue, Feb. '2013, as an excuse for not providing a recall for a "VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE-STEERING", stating the recall did not cover my car due to the assembly location. What happens if I am driving down the road and the steering locks up? Someone could get seriously injured or worse. There have been many, many complaints about this steering issue and it SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUE REGARDLESS OF WHERE IT WAS ASSEMBLED!! It is as though Ford is trying to avoid the cost of a defective part/system issue that has to be repaired or replaced. I am not a mechanic but in my opinion this is NOT AN ASSEMBLY issue but defective part(s).

I brought in the vehicle to a local independent service center (not Ford) for inspection and diagnosis and the mechanic reported a problem with the electric power assist system. I called Ford Customer Service and they reported "0" recalls on my vehicle. There are no warning lamps/messages that I am aware of. I would like a closer look (investigation) given that other exact year, make, and model Ford vehicles have experienced recalls on this specific component. Ford's number for a similar recall is "15S18".

While driving, the car begins to loose steering capability. Power steering decreases and the car becomes extremely hard to drive. Service error lights enabled = "Service Power Steering Now" and "Service Advance Trac" came on Feb 2, 2013. The car was dropped off at Ray Price Ford Stroudsburg on Feb 3, 2013. Ford Customer Service acknowledges and confirms this problem exists on many other VIN numbers and consider it a major safety issue and crash hazard. Recall # 15s18 (8/15/2019). The dealership confirmed the problem. At first they stated the steering froze up, but after sitting a couple of days, was able to be driven into the service bay. Dealership states out-of-pocket repair costs = $2752.66, however, parts are back ordered for 3 weeks.

Part ordered from ford on 10/15/2022 arrived on 12/28/2022.

I was in a right hand curve and it felt like my wheel flipped to one side. My steering felt loose. I took it to the shop and had them inspect it. Nothing was wrong with my suspension. I continued to drive it. My steering became even more loose and sloppy. I was struggling to stay in my lane due to the loosened steering. I have had it checked many times and nothing. When it rains I am jerked all over the road from water. It feels like my tires are being pulled in opposite directions at the same time while I am slung into on coming traffic.

While driving, the power steering went out, I wasn't able to turn left or right. A warning light came on briefly about the Power steering track, it then went off, but the steering was still hard. I can see that there has been a recall on my make and model of car that state: The affected vehicles have electrical power steering assist system that may shut down as a result of a steering motor sensor fault. I called the Ford dealership and I have checked the NHSTA website, and both state that particular VIN is not part of the recall. The recall described fits exactly what happened, while driving with no warning beforehand. Luckily, I was not at a speed that was too fast.

The power steering assist and traction control have failed. The vehicle is available for inspection at any time. The safety of myself and passengers as well as other drivers on the road were affected by the failure to properly control the vehicle due to the power steering assist and traction control failing. The problem has been reported, reproduced and confirmed by Ford Motor Company. Ford is refusing to diagnose or remedy the failure with the excuse that the recall 15s18 (NHTSA Campaign: 15v340000) is VIN-specific even though Ford’s website states: “ Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2011-2012 Ford Fusion vehicles without a 3.5L engine and Lincoln MKZ hybrid electric vehicles, 2011 Mercury Milan vehicles, 2011-2012 Ford Taurus, Ford Flex, Lincoln MKS, and Lincoln MKT vehicles equipped with a 3.5L GTDI engine and 2013 Ford Taurus, Ford Flex, Lincoln MKS, and Lincoln MKT vehicles equipped with any available engine.” The vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer but they are demanding $150 JUST to diagnose the issue. If it is as simple as reprogramming the vehicle’s software, they said it would cost another $150 to do so. Warning lamp and message about the power steering assist failing occurred right before the hardware malfunction/failure which was on December 2nd 2021 with 106,200 miles on the vehicle. Somehow the VIN for my vehicle wasn’t included in the initial recall by Ford EVEN THOUGH it meets all the specifications of the make/model of the vehicles AS WELL AS the date range and factory location of manufacture of the vehicles included in this recall, Ford has refused to fix their defect.

On 9/26/21, I was driving my 2013 Ford Taurus on the highway, when suddenly lost power steering. Two error messages immediately appeared on the dashboard: "Service Advancetrac" and "Power Steering Fault". I managed to pull the car over safely, however this was an extremely dangerous situation that could have led to an accident. The car was brought to Watertown Ford, 26 Seyon Street, Waltham MA, 02453. The Ford technician confirmed that multiple diagnostic codes were present (related to the steering rack and PCSM - power steering control module), and indicated that the power steering rack needed to be replaced at a cost of $2,700. Upon further research, I noticed that Ford opened a recall program for 2013 Ford Taurus models pertaining to this exact issue. I called Ford, but was informed that my VIN number was not included in the recall, and did not receive an explanation why. Ford's number for this recall is 15S18. NHTSA Campiagn Number is 15V605000. I'm shocked that this was not covered under Ford's recall program, and that I was forced to pay $2,700 in order to have a completely new power steering rack installed. I'm quite fearful that this will occur again in the future. I have attached the invoice from Watertown Ford for reference.

In my 2013 Ford Taurus (Mfd 02/2012) I experienced loss of power steering while pulling out of Costco and I went to a parking spot and tried to rotate the steering in the stationary car to check what happened. After rotating the steering wheel a couple of times the power steering came back but now there is a clicking sound while rotating the steering on both sides. I researched online for recalls and found Recall No. 15S18 for this issue. I am the 2nd owner of this vehicle since 2016 and I had the vehicle checked for the recall when I had purchased it. At that time no error code was found. Since my vehicle was checked once the recall does not show up for my Vin number but now I have the actual issue. I contacted Ford on Facebook (since their chat does not work) and they told me to contact the dealer. I contacted the Ford Dealer (Frontier Ford) and the customer service told me someone will contact me . I waited one day and checked back with them and they told me that they need to check if they have the part for the Recall. It has been another day but no one contacted me. I contacted another dealer (Sunnyvale Ford) and their customer service looked up my Vin number and told me that no un repaired recalls for my vehicle. The recall does not show up because it was there when I bought the car in 2016 and I had them check it but at that time there was nothing found. If you google online or check on YouTube there are a lot of people having this issue. One Video on YouTube made by an engineer shows the problem existed since 2011 and that it is due to heating and that Ford was always aware of the issue. Good afternoon, I am writing this regarding an issue to the power steering. This issue is an ongoing danger to myself and drivers around me. The steering locks up an the wheel becomes very still and hard to turn. This issue has been determined by a local dealership. There have been no warning lamps to signal the issue which makes it more dangerous due to no warning prior to when the issue started. After doing some research, I have found that similar vehicles to mine have a recall. The same vehicles (2013 taurus) manufactured in Chicago between September 7, 2010- February 28, 2012 have the same failed components as mine except they are recalled and mine is not.

We bought the car in August 2015 from a bank. After we got it home a "power steering assist fail" light came on. We took it to the local Ford dealer back then and since the light comes on randomly, they could not get a report to show. I told them that there was a loss of power steering assist recall in June of 2015, but since my VIN was not one of the recalls they refused to do recall work. The power steering assist continues to give us trouble and when I called Ford customer service last week, they said since my VIN was not on the recall list, I would have to pay for the $1800.00 for repairs myself. Last week the power assist failed while pulling into a parking spot and I almost hit another car because I could not turn my wheel. My transmission tech ran the vehicle system report yesterday 9-2-21 and we got the error, even though Ford said they could not see it. It is recall 15V340000. I assume that Ford failed to get our VIN in the recall list and we are just trying to get the manufactured defect repair completed that is not out of our pocket. How can we go about this?

The steering assist on my Ford Taurus sho police interceptor has failed. It has not been active for a while now. I have continued to drive the vehicle under these conditions despite the inconvenience it causes me. I am almost 45 years old. The wear this puts on my body, it's a shame. I fractured an elbow in an unrelated incident a couple years before I purchased this vehicle. It required a complete replacement with an implant. The pushing and pulling I've put on this has shortened the life of the implant. That I am with no doubt. But when this is your means to work, you have no choice but to adapt. Two months ago, I chose another vehicle to drive rather than to repair this one and "hope" for a recall. The problem my car has is identical to those recalled. The pictures I have added shows no doubt of that. I will not pay a cent to any dealership that represents a company that has chosen negligence over safety. It's hard to believe that manufacturers are given a choice in situations like this. A vehicle for the foundation that provides the public with safety and well being at that. I hope whoever reads this is able to take something away from it. Hopefully, it will push somebody in a different direction when time comes to purchase a new car that they're loved ones will be riding in. Maybe if a number of people have had enough of manufacturer's trying to compensate their losses by picking and choosing which cars to fix while making the average Joe pay out of pocket five times the actual cost of the repair, group together and push back against this dishonest entity.. a single voice, can be heard by a group of people that are able to do the right thing. Check of outstanding recall repairs when entering VIN # in your webpage, shows no outstanding repairs. Howevver, I bought this vehicle with 0 miles and havenot had this repair done (I never got a recall notice). this malfunction has happened reeatedly in the last 3 weeks.

WHILE LEAVING A PARKING LOT, THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ON MY FORD TAURUS STOPPED WORKING. I WAS NOT ABLE TO TURN SHARP ENOUGH TO STAY IN THE INTENDED FIRST LANE OF TRAFFIC AND WENT DEEP INTO THE SECOND AND ALMOST THIRD LANE. LUCKILY THE PERSON IN THE CENTER LANE WAS ABLE TO MOVE TO THE LEFT TO AVOID A COLLISION. THERE IS A RECALL THAT DESCRIBE THIS AS (15V340000 OR FORD 15S18) BUT FORD SAYS IT DOES NOT APPLY TO MY VEHICLE THOUGH THE DESCRIPTION IS IDENTICAL TO WHAT HAPPENED TO ME. I BELIEVE THAT THE PROBLEM THIS RECALL DESCRIBES IS NOT LIMITED TO THE SCOPE OF VEHICLES FORD CLAIMS AS PROBLEMATIC.

TWO DAYS AGO THE 29TH OF SEPTEMBER, 2020 I DROVE MY VEHICLE TO WORK. AT 17:05 I LEFT WORK AND STARTED MY ENGINE, I GOT ON THE INTERSTATE AND BOTH LIGHTS CAME BACK AT THE SAME TIME. POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULTY, AND SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC WARNING BOTH CAME ON. I COULDN'T STEER LEFT OR RIGHT, NEITHER COULD I USE THE BLINKER. THESE WAS THE MOST SCARIEST MOMENT OF MY LIFE AS I ALMOST CRASHED MY CAR. I DEPLOYED MY BEST DRIVING SKILL TO GET MY VEHICLE HOME WITHOUT KILLING MYSELF OR HURTING ANYONE. I MADE IT SAFE TO MY PARKING LOT, TURNED OFF MY THE ENGINE AND STARTED IT AGAIN, THE FAULT WAS STILL THERE, THE STEERING IS VERY HARD TO TURN LEFT OR RIGHT. LOTS OF COMPLAINANTS HAVE EXACT SIMILAR SITUATION FROM THE RESEARCH I'VE MADE. COST OF FIXING MY CAR WOULD BREAK MY BANK. I DON'T HAVE IT AND LEFT WITH NO OPTION BUT TO LEAVE THE CAR IN MY PARKING LOT UNTIL I CAN FIGURE WHAT TO DO WITH IT. I WAS 8 MILES FROM A FORD DEALERSHIP, I TOOK A BACK ROAD AND CREEP AT 10 MILES AN HOUR WITH NO STEERING. $139 FOR DIAGNOSTIC AND $2500 FOR REPAIR; I DECLINED THE REPAIR AS I HAVE BEEN IN CANCER TREATMENT FOR THE PAST YEAR AND NOW COVID19. THROUGH THE GRACE OF GOD, STEERING RESUMED; I CONTINUE TOWARDS MY DESTINATION, LOS ANGELES, CA, SUDDENLY THE STEERING WENT OUT AGAIN ARRIVING IN REDLANDS, CA, AGAIN SWERVING RECKLESSLY PUSHING ME INTO TRAFFIC ON BOTH SIDES OF MY VEHICLE, VEERING ME OFF OF THE ROAD ONTO AN EXIT WHERE I WAS NEARLY REAR-ENDED AND SIDESWIPED BY VEHICLES EXITING HWY 10 W. FORD IN THE REDLANDS ASKED FOR $2,500 ONLY NOW I WAS PROVIDED WITH INFORMATION CONCERNING A RECALL ON THE POWER STEERING ON THE YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL OF MY CAR. I WAS TOLD THAT MY VIN WAS NOT COVERED. I READ IN SEVERAL FORUMS THAT THIS IS HAPPENING TO HUNDREDS OF OTHER WITH THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL, ALL TYPICALLY HAPPENING IN THE 80K -100K MILEAGE. SEVERAL ATTEMPTS WERE MADE BY MYSELF AND THE DEALER TO DOING THE REPAIR TO GET ASSISTANCE AND I WAS JUST GIVEN THE RUN AROUND OVER AND OVER, EVERY PERSON I SPOKE TO HAD A DIFFERENT ANSWER OR INFORMATION. THIS WAS A SAFETY HAZARD AS I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE IT HAPPENED.

STARTED LOSING STEERING CONTROL AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON SO I SLOWED DOWN TO CONTROL VEHICLE. HAD IT TOWED INTO DEALERSHIP. DEALER SAID THE ELECTRONIC CONTROLS TO STEERING WERE LOCKED UP AND HAD TO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH THE PINION AND RACK. DEALER AND FORD CLAIM THERE IS NO RECALL. THE BELOW RECALL INFORMATION FROM THE NHTSA DESCRIBES EXACTLY WHAT WAS WRONG, WAS FIXED BY DEALERSHIP BUT I WAS CHARGED $2,412 TO REPLACE PARTS RATHER THAN DOWNLOAD NEW CODES TO FIX THE ISSUE. FEB 5, 2019, I CALLED THEM AGAIN AND THEY RESPONDED BY GIVING ME CASE NUMBER CAS17063111 AND TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD BE CONTACTING OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO ESCALATE THE RESOLUTION. AFTER 10 DAYS OF THE SERVICE MANAGER TRYING TO TALK TO FORD, THEY FINALLY TOLD HIM THAT THEY WERE NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING. IN OTHER WORDS, THEY JUST TRIED TO APPEASE ME INSTEAD OF RESOLVING THE PROBLEM. THERE IS A JUNE 2015 RECALL ON THE POWER STEERING ASSEMBLY. OUR CAR IS DOING EXACTLY WHAT THE RECALL NOTICE CALLS FOR. THIS IS A FREQUENT FAILURE THAT CAN BE REMEDIED BY RESTARTING THE CAR. HOWEVER, IF THIS FAILED WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD A SERIOUS ACCIDENT MAY OCCUR. THIS IS THE SAME CONDITION AS FORD 15S18 RECALL. HOWEVER, THE CAR VIN DOES NOT MATCH FORD'S DATABASE BECAUSE ALTHOUGH THE CAR WAS MANUFACTURED IN THE FACILITY (CHICAGO) WITH THE KNOWN ISSUE IT IS OUTSIDE THE SPECIFIED DATE OF PRODUCTION FOR WHICH THE RECALL INCLUDES. PLEASE EXPAND THE RECALL, THERE IS SIGNIFICANT PROOF OF MANY FORD DRIVERS WITH THIS SAME ISSUE THAT DO NOT QUALIFY FOR THE RECALL. THE ISSUE IS MUCH LARGER THAN INITIALLY SPECIFIED BY FORD, AND COULD RESULT IN A SIGNIFICANT HAZARD ON THE ROADS IF NOT PROPERLY REMEDIED.

I INVESTIGATED THIS PROBLEM ONLINE AND FOUND THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM. HOWEVER, MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL. ALSO NOTED THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AS STATED BY MANY IN THE RECALL FORUMS I VIEWED ONLINE. THE RECALL FOR THE DEFECT WAS ISSUED 06/02/2015 (RECALL # 15V340000). I WOULD ALSO NOTE THAT THE POWER STEERING FAULT DID NOT RESET ITSELF THIS TIME AND THE POWER STEERING ITSELF IS TOTALLY DISABLED.

I CONTACTED MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND THE SAID THAT THE POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE IS BACK ORDERED UNTIL MID JULY. THIS IS JUST ABSURD THAT MY FORD TAURUS IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL AND FURTHERMORE THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE TO FIX IT UNTIL MID JULY. THE STEERING WHEEL WIGGLES IN, PARK, REVERSE, DRIVE, AND WHEN THE IS PARKED WITH THE PARKING BRAKE ON OR OFF, AND WHEN ENGINE IS NOT RUNNING, THE STEERING WHEEL ITSELF APPEARS TO BE PSYCHICALLY LOOSE ITSELF. I WHEN TO A FORD QUICK LANE ON FRIDAY TO GET MY OIL CHANGED BUT THEY DIDN'T HAVE A TECHNICIAN THAT WAS CERTIFIED IN THAT AREA ON DUTY AT THE TIME. THEY HAD THE VEHICLE UP ON THE LIFT AND TOLD ME THAT ALL FRONT END COMPONENTS APPEAR TO BE INTACT AND IN WORKING ORDER. THE QUICK LANE CENTER HAD INFORMED ME THAT THE STEERING WHEEL APPEARS TO HAVE COME LOOSE FROM DIRECTLY BEHIND THE HORN PAD WHERE THE STEERING WHEEL ATTACHES TO THE VEHICLE. SOMETHING LIKE THIS APPEARS TO BE A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND A SAFETY CONCERN. I AM WONDERING IF THERE ARE ANY RECALLS OR IF A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED IN THIS CASE.
