The backup camera has failed. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. I have seen other reports on NHTSA here specifying the same problem. Visibility in this car is poor and is augmented by the backup camera. Car serviced by ford dealerships only. If left unrepaired, other drivers of this make and model 2013-2019 Taurus have an increased susceptibility to collisions.
My reverse screen camera doesn't work. The warning beeps do intermittently, but the view does not and hasn't for years. I just get a message. Sometimes if I turn the camera off and then on it resets it. I got this tip from someone at Ford. This year and make should be part of the recall.
In March of 2025 my vehicles driver assist lights started blinking coming out of my apt complex and within 15 seconds I couldn't even turn the wheels at all. Ive had several mechanics run their computer to diagnose the issue and was told that this make model and year has a recall for loss of steering which is an electrical issue. I called Ford themselves and they refused to even look at my car. I cannot find a mechanic who will even repair this electrical issue. Car is in perfect condition. Just replaced all 4 tires in January 2025 and oil change.
The vehicle has remote that cuts off the car and payments are not the issue. People are passing around the remote and putting people lives in danger. The shuts off multiple times comes from a device in the exhaust. They repetitive car getting shut off for extra money to mechanic associated with latest dealership or state of Wisconsin.
My former employer Municipal Utilities/City of Poplar Bluff manager TF, added an air tag or tracking device to my [XXX] Mother's car, who is a retired DOI employee. He also remotely updated the audio system. I spoke to the service Manager at the Poplar Bluff, MO Ford dealership and he said the audio system should not be updated. When he updated the system, my Mother had to replace the battery on the car and now the audio lights on the radio stay on and the Bluetooth and wifi is constantly searching for a connection, which it did not do before TF messed with it. TF done this to my personal Chevy Malibu as well, which led to its decommission, leaving me stranded on the side of [XXX], west of Ellsinore, MO, where there was no cellphone service and in the middle of a very bad thunderstorm. TF was using said device to track me after working hours or when I was using my own personal sick/vacation time, which he and his cousin [XXX] used in my wrongful termination. About 30 minutes before I got ready to leave for lunch or get ready to leave for the day, I would watch him go to the door to make tracking device active/wake up. He was monitoring/redirecting mine and my Mother's phone calls and internet traffic as well. This is illegal as well as an invasion of privacy, that ANY ADULT should not be a part of. In my opinion it looks worse for a government employee doing it, when they know better. TF's supervisors knew what was going on too, as well as all of the girls that I worked with, but did not try to stop TF's infringement on my civil rights. This invasion of privacy started around June and continued after my termination as well. I know of 2 other former employees of the City that have had the same exact problems too. Back up camera It’ll work when you start to back up and then all of a sudden it just stops working it’s been doing this often for about month.
The AC/Heat will shut off randomly and not turn back on. I’ve had my car into the shop many times and the issue still is not fixed. I’ve talked to many people with the same car as me and they all have stated that they have the same issues.
Power steering died out and is not working
I was in a right hand curve and it felt like my wheel flipped to one side. My steering felt loose. I took it to the shop and had them inspect it. Nothing was wrong with my suspension. I continued to drive it. My steering became even more loose and sloppy. I was struggling to stay in my lane due to the loosened steering. I have had it checked many times and nothing. When it rains I am jerked all over the road from water. It feels like my tires are being pulled in opposite directions at the same time while I am slung into on coming traffic.
The car is stopping when at idle and at times will loose full power when driving down the road. We have replaced the mass air flow sensor, cleaned the mass flow uptake, and replaced the fuel pump driver module. We bought this vehicle from Turnpike Ford in Huntington. The 3rd party warranty showing on my loan agreement was bumper to bumper 7 years or 72,000 miles however the warranty paper stated 3 years or 36,000 miles. We have tried working with Todd Judy but they refuse to honor the warranty so my car has not been able to be repaired. They advised me I needed a new motor and transmission. We need this issue resolved it’s a high risk for us when driving the vehicle and these repairs should not be coming out of our pocket.
I purchased my car from a Ford dealership in 12/2020. As of 08/09/2021 my car lost power steering while driving. The power steering system failed and a warning for “Power assist fault” came on my dash. Upon trying to order and fix the part, the scan told me that my PCSM (electronic power steering) was at fault, they notified me that my car was under recall for that issue. I saw online that it is for affected vehicles 2011-2013 Ford Taurus, all engines, that experience a loss of power steering, under NHTSA campaign number 15V-340-000. I called my dealership and they said my VIN did not match the recall despite it being the exact same year, car, and issue as the affected recall. I am having the EXACT same issues as listed under the recall. This seriously affected my safety as I experienced TOTAL loss of steering suddenly, which worsens with slower speeds making it almost impossible to steer the car at all. I am lucky enough to have been in a situation where I was not harmed due to it.
THE DEALER HAS COMPLETED ALL THE RECALLS DUE TO DATE ON THE VEHICLE, BUT IS UNABLE TO REPORT THEM SO THE VEHICLE IS STILL LISTED ON NHTSA.GOV AS HAVING 1 INCOMPLETE RECALL. THE DEALER IS UNABLE TO PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION ON THE ISSUE, PROMISING THAT THE CASE WILL BE REVIEWED BY INTERNAL TEAM, THE MANUFACTURER IS UNABLE TO PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION AS WELL, STATING THAT THE ALL THE RECALLS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED, THE DEALERSHIP GOT PAID, BUT 1 RECALL REMAINS LISTED ON NHTSA.GOV .I CANNOT USE THE VEHICLE AS INTENDED AS 1 STILL ACTIVE RECALL PROHIBITS ME FROM DOING SO. IS THERE ANYTHING WHAT CAN BE DONE TO UPDATE THE RECALLS OR MAKE THE DEALER TO COMPLETE AND RECORD THEM PROPERLY?

I NOTICED ON THE FORD PASS APP THAT THERE WAS A WARRANTY EXTENSION FOR THE APIM ON THE SYNC SYSTEM. THEY (FORD) EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THE NOTIFICATION WAS SENT TO A PREVIOUS OWNER AND NOT ME (I HAVE OWNED THE CAR SINCE 2016). THEY NOW SAY THIS EXTENSION IS EXPIRED AND THE COST WOULD HAVE TO BE MY RESPONSIBILITY.

I TOOK MY CAR TO A LOCAL SHOP FOR LOWER CONTROL ARMS. THE SHOP MANAGER CALLED AND TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY CAR. SO I TRIED TO CONTACT 2 DIFFERENT FORD DEALERSHIPS. NEITHER ONE WANTS TO EVEN LOOK AT IT. THE DEALERSHIPS WANTED OVER $150 TO LOOK AT THE RECALL ISSUE. I AM HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE STEERING. THE CAR DOES NOT WANT TO DRIVE STRAIGHT. MY CAR IS A 2013 AND HAS AROUND 143,000 MILES ON IT.
SYNC SOFTWARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY, AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON WHEN SCAN SHOWS SEAT BELTS BUT ARE WORKING PROPERLY. CALLED FORD I WAS TOLD BY NUMEROUS REPRESENTATIVES THAT HAD TO DOWNLOAD THE UPDATE WHICH I ID AND DID NOT WORK, THE LAST ONE I SPOKE TO SAID IT HAD TO BE DEALER ONLY
VEHICLE BROUGHT IN FOR NON START ISSUE. FUEL DRIVER MODULE REPLACED ON 06/25/20. NOW MY SYNC IS INOPERABLE AFTER FUEL PUMP REPAIR.

DANGEROUS AND CAN POSE EXTREME RISK OF VEHICLE CRASH. TOOK TO FORD DEALER THEY INFORMED TO JUST GET RID OF IT. JUST PURCHASED VEHICLE LESS THAN SIX MONTHS AGO.

I UPDATED THE SYNC SOFTWARE SYSTEM, AND THE "911 ASSIST" AUTOMATIC CRASH NOTIFICATION FEATURE, WAS NO LONGER INCLUDED LIKE IT HAD BEEN FROM THE DAY OF PURCHASE. I FEEL STRONGLY THAT THIS IS AN IMPORTANT SAFETY FEATURE, AND SHOULD NOT BE REMOVED IN THE COURSE OF OWNERSHIP OF THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO INDICATION IN THE SOFTWARE UPDATE FEATURES NOTES THAT THIS ACN "911 ASSIST" SYSTEM WOULD BE REMOVED PRIOR TO UPGRADE. FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE CONFIRMED SYNC 2 MFT VERSION V3.10 DOES NOT INCLUDE 911 ASSIST. IT WAS A FEATURE OF MY CAR FROM THE DATE OF MANUFACTURE UP UNTIL THIS SOFTWARE UPGRADE. OEM AUTO MANUFACTURERS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO REMOVE SAFETY FEATURES THAT WERE DESIGNED INTO CARS, AND I URGE NHTSA TO ENFORCE "GRANDFATHERING" OF SAFETY FEATURES, EVEN OPTION SAFETY FEATURES, LIKE ACN SYSTEMS.

RADIO WOULD NOT PLAY IN 12/2018 BUT THEN IT WAS OK UNTIL THIS YEAR WHEN IT STARTED CAUSING THE FOLLOWING ISSUES IN 11/2019. THE MY FORD TOUCH SYNC IS CAUSING AN EXTREMELY LOUD SQUEALING NOISE WHEN THE CAR IS STARTED, OR WHEN THE RADIO IS ON WHILE DRIVING WHICH IS SO LOUD IT COULD CAUSE YOU TO WRECK. RADIO WILL NOT PLAY AT ALL WHEN THE RADIO IS ON. MOST OF THE TIME THE NOISE WILL GO AWAY IF THE RADIO OR CAR IS TURNED OFF. FORD HAD A RECALL BUT I NEVER WAS NOTIFIED BY FORD. I DISCONNECTED WIRE TO FUSE BOX AND THE RADIO RESET AND ALL WAS FINE, THE RADIO PLAYED ALL THE STATIONS INCLUDING SIRIUS XM BUT WHEN MY WIFE STARTED THE CAR THE NEXT DAY THE LOUD NOISE STARTED AGAIN AND SHE HAD TO GET OUT OF THE CAR BECAUSE IT WAS SO LOUD. SHE REACHED BACK INTO THE CAR AND SHUT THE CAR OFF AND THE NOISE STOPPED. HE GOT BACK IN THE CAR AND STARTED IT AGAIN AND HURRIED UP AND SHUT THE RADIO OFF AND THE NOISE WAS GONE. I GOT IN THE CAR AND TURNED THE RADIO ON AND THE NOISE WAS GONE BUT THE RADIO WOULD NOT PLAY AND THE RADIO WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO SELECT AM AND FM BUT COULD SELECT SIRIUS XM, USB, AND CD BUT WOULD NOT PLAY. THE LOUD NOISE ALSO HAS STARTED WHEN THE BLUETOOTH IS ON. THIS LOUD NOISE CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT BE BECAUSE IT IS SO LOUD. WENT TO THE FORD DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE RECALL RAN OUT IN 2017 BUT I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL BY FORD. THIS NOISE IS VERY DANGEROUS AND CAN CAUSE ACCIDENTS BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL OCCUR. I CALLED FORD AND THEY GAVE ME A CASE # CES24887147 AND THEY WILL LOOK INTO IT BUT THE FORD DEALER TOLD ME THAT THE CASE # IS ABOUT AS FAR AS IT WILL GO. THERE ARE MANY CASES ON LINE AND THE COST FOR THIS REPAIR IS ABOUT $1500.00 BUT IT SHOULD BE FORD'S COST NOT MINE BECAUSE I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THIS VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. I INSTALLED LATEST UPDATE IT WORKED THAT DAY BUT ISSUE WAS BACK NEXT DAY.

I WAS DRIVING THROUGH A PARKING LOT AT THE TIME. WHEN IT SHAKES AND STUTTERS, IT DOES NOT MATTER IF I'M DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY OR IN TOWN. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE WHEN I DRIVE IT. I BOUGHT THE CAR IN APRIL 2019 AND IT HAS BEEN DOING IT EVER SINCE. THE DEALER FROM WHERE I BOUGHT IT DO THE DIAGNOSTIC TESTS AND SAID NOTHING IS WRONG.
REAR BACK UP CAMERA DOES NOT WORK AT RANDOM TIMES WILL GET A NOTICE TO CONTACT DEALER SHIP ERROR ON SCREEN. SOMETIMES IT IS UPSIDE DOWN OR NO CAMERA AT ALL. BEEN HAPPENING FOR MONTHS GOING TO FORD DEALER SHIP TO CONFIRM ISSUE ON JULY 16 2019. BACK UP SENSORS WILL STILL WORK.

I WAS IN THE VEHICLE TRYING TO OPEN RIGHT REAR PASSENGER DOOR FOR ONE OCCUPANT TO ENTER VEHICLE (AS THEY WERE HOLDING FOOD IN BOTH OF THEIR HANDS) AND THE INTERIOR DOOR LATCH CAME LOOSE. NOW THE INTERIOR DOOR LATCH IS LOOSE AND CAN BE OPENED BY A VERY LIGHT PULL ON KNOB. SPRING SEEM TO BE OUT OF PLACE.

THE HEADLINER HAS DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE DESPITE ONLY 5 YEARS OLD. IT BLOCKS THE REAR WINDOW. ALSO, THE UPPER CENTER BRAKE LIGHT IS ON THE HEADLINER AND IS NOW NO OPERATING PROPERLY BECAUSE OF ITS ORIENTATION. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD. FORD HAS ISSUED A TSB ON THIS. SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO GET FORD TO REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY OR FOR SAFETY REASONS WERE UNSUCCESFUL. IT IS VERY DISAPPOINTING. RESEARCH CONFIRMS THAT THIS WAS A POOR DESIGN WITH LIMITED LIFE ON PLASTIC MOUNTING BRACKETS. REPAIR ESTIMATED TO ALMOST $1000!

MY 2013 FORD TAURUS LIMITED STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS. THE WRENCH LIGHT COMES ON AT FREQUENT OCCASIONS, GAS PEDAL WOULD NOT WORK, VEHICLE SHACKS VERY BAD. NO CHOICE BUT LET THE VEHICLE COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURN OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE WILL GO BACK TO NORMAL DRIVING CONDITION. THIS PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. I SPOKE WITH FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE AND ONLY SUGGESTION HE GAVE ME IS TO WHEN THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS AGAIN AND VEHICLE STALLED ' LET THE VEHICLE KEEP RUNNING AND HAVE IT TOWED TO THE FORD DEALER. THEY WILL BE ABLE TO HOOK UP THE COMPUTER TO CAPTURE THE DIAGNOSES CODE. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO LOCAL (PRATTVILLE, AL) FORD DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT FIGURE OUT ANYTHING WRONG WITH VEHICLE BECAUSE THE DIAGNOSIS CODE NOT BEING AVAILABLE AT THE TIME OF INSPECTION. THIS WOULD BE MY LAST FORD VEHICLE SINCE FORD DOES NOT WANT TO RECALL THIS ISSUE AND THEM BEING CARELESS OF OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD''''..

THE WRENCH APPEARED AND MY CAR SHUT DOWN. I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND WAS GOING 65 MILES PER HOUR. IT WAS VERY SCARY AND UNSAFE...I HAD TO TURN IT OFF AND THEN RESTART IT. NOTHING HAPPENED AGAIN FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS, THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN BUT THIS TIME 2 TIMES IN A ROW BEFORE IT WOULD RUN. THE DIAGNOSTIC REPORT SAID IT WAS A SENOR. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT INSTALLED STE 259 GEAR ASY-STEERING PART INTERCHANGES WITH PART# EG1Z3504GE FOR A FEE OF $1300.00 ON AUGUST 11, 2016. TODAY I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM....THE WRENCH APPEARED AND MY CAR SHUT DOWN ON THE HIGHWAY....IT WOULDN'T RESTART I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION. AFTER 3 TRIES IT FINALLY STARTED AND I DROVE IT DIRECTLY TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY RAN ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC REPORT AND FOUND ANOTHER CODE. THE REPORT IS SAYING THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR. I AM VERY NERVOUS AND FEEL VERY UNSAFE DRIVING MY CAR.

I HAVE 2013 FORD TAURUS AT SAM GALLOWAY FORD IN FORT MYERS FLORIDA, THEY CALLED ME AND SAID MY E.T.B ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED/REPLACED AND IT WILL COST $750 OUT THE DOOR. I STARTED DOING SOME RESEARCH FOR CHEAPER COST AND I CAME ACROSS OTHER FORDS WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM THAT WAS RECALLED, MADE A FEW CALLS TO FORD AND THEY SAID MY VIN NUMBER DOESN'T QUALIFY MY CAR FOR THAT RECALL. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM, THE CAR WILL LOSE THROTTLE IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. THIS SEEMS TO ME A ISSUE AND PROBLEM WITH A NUMBER OF FORDS VEHICLES AND JUST BECAUSE MINE DOESN'T FALL UNDER THE VIN, IT'S STILL A FORD AND THE ETB IS A PROBLEM FOR FORD VEHICLES. PLEASE MAKE THIS A RECALL! ETB IS A PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED FOR ANY FORD THAT IT HAPPENS TO! THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES TO ME SINCE I HAD THE CAR AND IT'S ONLY BEEN A TWO MONTHS. I RESPONDED TO A RECALLL NOTICE AND TOOK MY CAR FOR AN INSPECTION BACK IN JUNE. FORD DOES NOT HAVE THE PARTS FOR THE REPAIR AND THEY ARE ON BACK ORDER STILL TODAY (AUGUST 14TH). DEALER INDICATED THAT THEY'VE WAITED AS LONG AS FOUR MONTHS FOR THE PARTS. FOR THIS SAFETY RECALL (15S02 /NHTSA 15V-040) WHERE THE DOORS COULD POSSIBLY POP OPEN IN A COLLISION THIS SEEMS TOO SLOW OF A RESPONSE TIME. DEALER ISN'T THE PROBLEM... FORD IS NOT SUPPLYING THE PARTS.
SUNROOF VIBRATION WITH SUNROOF OPEN ALL THE WAY WITH BACK WINDOWS CRACKED ABOUT AN INCH. VIBRATION IS SO BAD THAT YOU CAN NO SEE OUT OF THE REAR VIEW MIRROR. YOU CAN REACH UP AND TOUCH THE SUNROOF DEFLECTOR AND THE VIBRATION WILL STOP. I FEEL THAT IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE OUT OF THE REAR VIEW MIRROR WHEN THE VIBRATION IS HAPPENING. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THE VIBRATION IS TO ROLL ALL OF THE WINDOWS DOWN. MY WIFE DRIVES THE CAR THE MOST AND WILL NOT LET THE WINDOWS ALL THE WAY DOWN WHEN SHE IS RIDING ON INTERSTATE. SHE LIKES THE SUNROOF OPEN AND CRACKS THE BACK WINDOWS TO ALLEVIATE THE PRESSURE BUT THE VIBRATION WILL NOT GO AWAY. VERY UNHAPPY WITH A BRAND NEW CAR THAT HAS AN ISSUE LIKE THIS! *TT
