Transmission failure at 80,000 miles. This a known issue with 8F35 transmissions in these model years. Left me stranded and in danger on the roadway. The transmission has other recalls, and a TSB from Ford acknowledging the issues without recall for known failures. There were no lamps, indicators, or codes before failure.

Transmission shutter goes in and out of gear I’ve seen lots of people have this problem and no recall yet

Good evening, I wanted to bring to your attention an ongoing issue I've experienced with two 2019 Transit Connect vehicles that I purchased together. Both vehicles have encountered a transmission problem when shifting into reverse; initially, they would not move, but after shifting to park and then back to reverse, they would engage. I visited the dealership where I bought both vehicles, and they inspected them, indicating that they found no problems. However, both vehicles began showing transmission issues around the 50,000 to 58,000-mile mark. I was able to replace the transmissions under the manufacturer’s warranty. Unfortunately, after approximately 30,000 miles—about a year and a half later—I encountered the same issue again. Once more, the vehicles struggled to engage in reverse. When I returned to the dealership to report this recurring issue, I learned that my warranty had expired, and I would need to replace the transmission again. I would like to formally express my concerns regarding this situation. It seems that there may be a common issue with the transmission in the 2019 model, and I believe it's important for this to be addressed. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

the transmission stopped while in motion approaching a stoplight. It made a big clunking noise kind of died and will not do anything now. It is sitting in a dealership waiting for repairs. Under NHTSA Campaign #21V376000 it is the exact issue per the Ford dealership. The only difference in that recall is the engine size is 2.5L and our is 2.0L. Ford will not do anything to help us fix the issue due to the engine size difference and the specifications of that recall. It is a 10k fix for us and Ford already knows the issue exists but it was just a slightly larger engine. Other than that the issue is the same. We would like Ford to do something about this. Luckily it happened while stopping

The contact owns a 2019 Ford Transit Connect. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the electrical system failed to respond, and the vehicle turned off. There were no warning lights illuminated. There was no power to the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where unknown repairs were performed along with a taillight repair. On a separate occasion, while driving 30 MPH, the vehicle failed to respond, the transmission was not shifting properly, which caused the vehicle to jerk. The contact stated that while driving after the engine had warmed up, the vehicle would unintendedly stop. The contact returned from a trip and the vehicle was taken to a dealer and was diagnosed with transmission failure. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 84,500.

Transmission Issues sometimes vehicle rolls back. Not in gear hesitates at high speeds

1 Transmission: very harsh shift engagements up shift and downshifting. Harsh downshifting while cornering and approaching intersections made me concerned for my safety. Random slipping in mid gears 3,4, or 5, no DTC's for slipping or harsh engagements. Transmission currently has the DTC: P0772 Shift Solenoid E Stuck On. and is not drive able. Vehicle is in my driveway until I determine where to take it. I am concerned why my vehicle Vin isn't listed in the transmission recalls when I'm having the exact same problem as the recalled vehicles. 2 Brakes: February 2024 ABS Unit. When driving on highways at speeds between 45-65mph, when I would release my foot off the gas pedal the vehicle would apply medium pressure to the braking system (without touching the brake pedal). Vehicle was taken to Nazareth Ford, they replaced a front brake hose and cycled the Anti-lock Brake System unit. I drove back on the highway and the same thing happened, brakes applied when letting off the gas pedal, almost causing an accident. I replaced the ABS unit myself and had Nazareth Ford program the software. Problem solved. I still have the old ABS unit available for inspection.

Catastrophic failure of the transmission.

Transmission converter and Ford refuses to honor the repair. It does not show on their computer yet the RPM needle goes up and down on stealth mode. The wiper hose keeps coming off. The back up camera kept going black. The AC went out at less than 40,000 miles. The software will not update. The eco system would not work properly. The passenger bag is not detected.

The transmission needs replaced at 88,900 miles on a 2019 Ford Transit Connect. I have reached out to Ford and they will NOT do anything except to tell me I should have it repaired/replaced at a Ford authorized dealer so that the parts are under warranty. I use this compact cargo van for my business and am being for to put unnecessary wear and tear and miles on my personal vehicle for work. The transmission started to fail and the vehicle went into "limp" mode. The vehicle started to shift gears erratically, had a loss of power, slipping gears, and hard upshift and down shift. This happened all within a matter of 5 miles. Thankfully, I was able to get the vehicle back home and didn't loose control or have a catastrophic loss. The Ford dealer also found a Diagnostic Trouble Code for the Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor and when the vehicle gear selector was placed in "drive" the vehicle would move in reverse and vise versa. Ford's answer to this problem is "I am always willing to consider individual requests for assistance beyond the warranty period. I hope you understand; however, that I must place limits on the post-warranty adjustment policy. Regrettably, I have to advise you that your vehicle is beyond those limits. As such, I am unable to assist with repair costs; however, I encourage you to have the repair performed at your Ford dealership as parts come with a warranty." The factory powertrain warranty is 5 years/60,000 miles. This vehicle is a 2019 with 88,900 miles. I believe that the reasonable expectation of the lifespan of a transmission is 150,000 mile at a minimum for any vehicle. There are several recalls on the transmission as well as a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB 22-2281) published showing how to fix the problem when it happens. Ford has not publicly admitted that there is a problem, but in my mind, if a problem has warranted the you publish a TSB on how to fix the problem then you are admitting that there is a problem.

Transmission had high RPM's intermittently shifting out of lower gears and experienced poor gas mileage prior to complete failure. complete failure occurred at a complete stop and would not go in any gear but 8th gear. no check engine light at failure. $8300 to replace transmission at 77k miles. transmission fluid cannot be checked or maintained by owner.

Transmission locks up on road, bringing van to a stop. At 80,000 miles the transmission went out. Ford replaced whole transmission with extended warranty. At 149,000 miles transmission went out again. Same thing, Planitary gear broke, silonoid for shifting had to be relaced, clutches worn to metal. Ford refused to fix it. Too many cars on lot to fix.

I copied this, because this is exactly what happened to me. 8200.00 New Transmission 2019 FORD TRANSIT CONNECT 2.0L GDI I4 ENGINE 8 SPD AUTO TRANSAXLE, 83,000 MILES. TRANSMISSION EXHIBITING DIFFICULTY SHIFTING IN LOWER GEARS. VAN WAS WORKING FINE, THEN ALL AT ONCE THE TRANSMISSION STOPPED WORKING AT A STOP LIGHT. TRANSMISSION ACTED LIKE IT WAS IN PARK, I TURNED OFF KEY AND TURNED BACK ON AND THE VAN WOULD DRIVE AGAIN. WHEN I PULLED IN FRONT OF MY DRIVEWAY THE VAN WOULD NOT GO IN REVERSE NOR WOULD IT GO FORWARD AGAIN. I TURNED CAR OFF AND BACK ON AND THE VAN WOULD DRIVE FORWARD, I TOOK TO DEALER AT THAT MOMENT, DEALER IS 5 MILES FROM MY Flower Shop. FORD DEALER SERVICE END RESULT IS BLOWN TRANSMISSION WITH ESTIMATE TO REPAIR OF OVER $8,000.00. VEHICLE PROBLEMS ARE CONSISTENT WITH POSTED RECALLS ON 2.5L ENGINE. VEHICLE WELL MAINTAINED BY FORD DEALER SERVICE ONLY, ADULT DRIVEN 1 DRIVER ONLY. LOTS OF PEOPLE ONLINE COMPLAINING ABOUT SIMILAR PROBLEMS. TRANSMISSION SHOULD LAST MUCH MORE THAN 90,000 MILES, KNOWN ELECTRONIC PROBLEMS ALTHOUGH NO RECALLS ON RECORD FOR THIS ENGINE AND TRANSAXLE COMBINATION. I DRIVE MY VAN VERY EASY, MY MILES ARE MOSTLY HIGHWAY MILES VERY LITTLE IN TOWN DRIVING. FORD SHOULD HONOR KNOWN PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE ESPECIALLY IF THE REPAIRS ARE IN EXCESS OF $8,000.00! I DO NOT FEEL THIS IS FAIR OF FORD, I REQUESTED A CASE TO BE STARTED BY FORD AND I WANT TO RECORD THE PROBLEM IF FOR NOTHING ELSE FUTURE RECALL NOTICES FOR THIS OBVIOUS MANUFACTURE DEFECT. I H

The contact owns a 2019 Ford Transit Connect. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V413000 (Power Train) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

We have had to purchase and replace the transmission in our 2019 Transit Connect. The shifter began experiencing issues with moving into the intended gear and eventually caused the transmission needing replacement. I am aware of NHTSA safety recall 22V413, however, the recall makes no reference of the transmission itself needing to be replaced. We are seeking compensation for replacement of a new transmission for a vehicle that is 38 months old as well as bring this issue to NHTSA to possibly further the current safety recall.
