Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2015 Ford Transit. The contact stated that while attempting to register the vehicle with the Notary, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 115,000, and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 330,000. The contact stated that the private seller was selling the vehicle with the previous registered owner information on the title. The contact was able to reach the previous owner of the vehicle, who confirmed that the vehicle mileage had exceeded 328,000 when it was sold.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Transit. The contact stated that water had leaked through the windshield and into the air filter compartment, onto several wires for different electrical systems in the vehicle, and onto emissions components, which affected the engine timing. The contact stated that while inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed that there was approximately 2-inches of water in the air filter box. The check engine warning light was illuminated, with diagnostic trouble codes indicating that the Oxygen sensors had failed, and the timing was not being converted correctly. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic, who diagnosed that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired by the mechanic. The contact replaced the catalytic converter and placed a seal around the windshield. The manufacturer was informed of the failure, and it was confirmed that the VIN was not included in a recall related to the failure. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2015 Ford Transit. The contact stated that he had discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy through a Carfax report. The vehicle was purchased through a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, on March 4, 2025, the vehicle mileage was 78,125; however, the Carfax report displayed that the mileage was 314,739 at the time the dealer had purchased the vehicle at an Auction.

The Van looses all power. This has happened 4 times. The display will appear brake boost failure or engine failure. We were driving on the 60 fwy in the number one lane when this happened last. My husband was able maneuver to shoulder without causing an accident.

While driving van displayed "engine fault service now" and lost all power in the middle of the road. I was able to pull over turn it off and back on and is running. This is happened to nearly our whole fleet of Ford Transits. I have put in a claim with Ford, as this is an extremely dangerous safety issue. It is causing my employees to feel like we are providing unsafe transportation, it is causing lost revenue due to vehicles being out of service and it is a potential insurance claim/workers comp issue. Ford needs to take action.

Nov 15, 2023 Crash

While driving on the highway, acceleration shuts down and I lose the ability to control speed. I had to coast to the side of the road even though the engine was still running and I was rear-ended. After I shut off the vehicle, it turned on and returned to normal operation. This has happened multiple times. The throttle body was replaced in 2021 at 117,444 miles and is having this issue again now. I have a fleet of Transit vehicles and this has happened on 4 transits from 2015-2018 a total of 6 times now. This is an ongoing issue that Ford needs to address.

2015 FORD TRANSIT PRESENTS WITH NO START CONDITION LOSE OF FUEL AND CODE P0230 ON FURTHER DIAGNOSIS FOUND ENGINE COMPARTMENT FUSE BOX TO HAVE MULTIPLE FUSE TERMINALS LOOSE FROM THE BOARD. TO BE CLEAR THESE DO NOT APPEAR AS FUSES LOOSE FROM THE TERMINAL THEY GO IN, THIS IS THE TERMINAL SEEMS LOOSE FROM THE CIRCUIT BOARD. EITHER WAY THE EFFECT IS THE SAME, CAUSING THEM TO LOSE POWER INTERMITTENTLY INCLUDING THE FUEL PUMP CREATING A NO START AND OR DIE WHILE DRIVING CONDITION POTENTIALLY CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING. HAVE VIDEO DOCUMENTING THE CONDITION AS WELL AS TWO PICTURES INCLUDED SHOWING VOLTAGE FLUCTUATING..

FOLLOW-UP TO PRIOR PROBLEM REPORT ON THIS VIN. AFTER 24 HRS WITH BATTERY DISCONNECTED, I RECONNECTED BATTERY. PRIOR PROBLEM DID NOT REPRODUCE AND VEHICLE APPEARED TO POWER-UP NORMALLY. I USED THE KEY TO SUCCESSFULLY START AND RUN THE ENGINE. BUT THERE WERE NO INSTRUMENT READINGS, TACHOMETER READ ZERO. I MOVED THE KEY BACK TO THE OFF POSITION, BUT THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO RUN. THE ONLY WAY TO KILL THE ENGINE WAS TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY CABLE. THAT MEANS THE DEFECTIVE MODULE IS NOT FAILING SAFE.

A CONTROL MODULE BEGAN MALFUNCTIONING BY FIRST CAUSING THE HEADLIGHTS TO COME ON SPONTANEOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED (AT HOME), HEADLIGHT SWITCH OFF, NO KEY IN IGNITION. AFTER REMOVING THE BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE, ANY ATTEMPT TO RECONNECT THE BATTERY CAUSES THE STARTER MOTOR TO SPONTANEOUSLY ENERGIZE AND THE ENGINE TO START RUNNING, AGAIN WITH NO KEY IN THE IGNITION. I AM ABLE TO ALWAYS REPRODUCE THIS MALFUNCTION. I IMMEDIATELY DISCONNECT THE BATTERY EACH TIME, AS I CONSIDER THIS MALFUNCTION TO BE POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS, AND I CANNOT PREDICT WHAT FURTHER MALFUNCTION MIGHT ENSUE. I ACQUIRED THIS VEHICLE USED ~12 MONTHS AGO, AND IT HAS RUN NORMALLY UNTIL NOW. CURRENT MILEAGE ~81,700. THERE HAVE BEEN NO MODIFICATIONS TO THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.

WHILE I WAS DRIVING, ALL THE DASHBOARD GAUGES QUIT WORKING AND THE LIGHTS WENT OFF. I WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT SO IT WAS A LITTLE CONCERNING SINCE I COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING ON MY DASHBOARD AND THE SPEEDOMETER WASN'T WORKING. I WAS TOLD THE BODY CONTROL MODULE IS BAD AND AFTER LOOKING AT FORUMS, IT SEEMS THIS IS AN ISSUE AMONGST MANY FORD TRANSIT OWNERS. IT SEEMS UNSAFE THAT THAT CAN HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING. I CHECKED TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL SINCE IT SEEMS SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE AN ISSUE AND LOOKS LIKE THERE ISN'T.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD TRANSIT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE CHECK AT WORLD FORD/KENDALL (15551 W DIXIE HWY, MIAMI, FL 33162, (800) 739-1959). AFTER RETRIEVING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO HIS RESIDENCE. THE FOLLOWING DAY DURING RAINY WEATHER, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE FAILED TO TURN OVER. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AND DETERMINED THAT WATER ENTERED THE ELECTRICAL COMPARTMENT CAUSING THE FUSE TO FAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED DURING A RAINY DAY. THE CONTACT MENTIONED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V275000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 77,000. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED.

THE VEHICLE RANDOMLY DEVELOPED HESITATION TO START ONE DAY AS IF IT WASN'T GETTING ENOUGH FUEL OR AIR. IT DID START AND I DROVE HOME FROM WORK. I PLANNED TO TAKE IT TO A DEALERSHIP TO GET IT CHECKED OUT BUT THE NEXT DAY BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. I ATTEMPTED TO JUMP-START BUT THE BATTERY WAS AT FULL VOLTAGE. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE CAR. I WAS INFORMED THE NEXT DAY BY THE TECHNICIAN THAT THERE WAS A TSB ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND THAT FORD MOTOR COMPANY WAS WELL AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND THAT IT WOULD COST ME $850 PLUS TAX. APPARENTLY THE CABIN AIR FILTER IS NOT PROPERLY WEATHER SEALED AND UNDER NORMAL USE WATER WILL MAKE ITS WAY INTO THE FILTER, AND INTO THE MASS AIR SENSOR. FORD HAS MADE NEW REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR THIS ISSUE BUT BECAUSE I AM OUT OF WARRANTY BY A FEW MONTHS, I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE ENTIRETY OF THE BILL. HAD THE PART GIVEN OUT WHILE DRIVING (ESPECIALLY AT HIGH SPEEDS) THE ENGINE WOULD SEIZE AND COULD HAVE LIKELY CAUSED A CRASH.

SLIDING DOOR ALERT KEEPS GOING OFF. POSSIBLE SENSOR OR LATCH DEFECT. HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING OVER DIPS, BUMPS AND WHILE BRAKING. UNABLE TO READ DASH SYSTEM PANEL WHILE ALERT IS ON. POSSIBLE SAFETY ISSUE, AS CANNOT SEE OTHER ALERTS WHILE THIS ONE IS ON, AS IT REMAINS ON THE ENTIRE TIME I'M DRIVING AND IS A DISTRACTION. POSSIBLE SAFETY ISSUE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON FUEL SYSTEM SENSOR ISSUES. AFTER PUTTING FUEL IN VEHICLE IT HAS TROUBLE RESTARTING, CAUSING ME TO FUEL VEHICLE WHILE STARTED TO REMEDY THIS. POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD, COULD CAUSE VEHICLE TO CATCH FIRE RESULTING IN EXPLOSION/DEATH.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD TRANSIT. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE INDICATORS ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER BEGAN TO FLASH AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO CHIME. THE VEHICLE STALLED AND WAS UNABLE TO BE RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO ALL AMERICAN FORD (HACKENSACK 520 RIVER ST, HACKENSACK, NJ 07601) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A GPS IN THE VEHICLE CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO ALL AMERICAN FORD. THE DEALER REVISED THE DIAGNOSIS AND STATED THAT THE ELECTRICAL CLUSTER FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO ALL AMERICAN FORD WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PCM FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED ONCE AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO ALL AMERICAN FORD WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIRING IN THE VEHICLE CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V406000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND THE CONTACT NEEDED TO CONTINUE TO WORK WITH THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MAIN WIRING NEEDED TO BE WRAPPED WITH REFLECTIVE TAPE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE CARGO DOORS FAILED TO LATCH PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000.
