THE FRAME WELDS WERE INADEQUATE AND HAVE BROKEN AWAY ON THE FRONT PART OF THE TRAILER NEAR THE TONGUE. THE CENTER CROSS MEMBER BETWEEN THE TONGUE IS DANGLING. IT IS A 2015 SHASTA 1961 RE-ISSUE 16 FOOT TRAILER. IT IS CLEARLY AN EXAMPLE OF SHODDY WORKMANSHIP, AND IS DEFINITELY A DANGEROUS SAFETY ISSUE. I AM NOT SURE WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I ONLY BECAME AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AFTER OTHER OWNERS OF THIS SAME MODEL TRAILER BROUGHT THE PROBLEM TO LIGHT. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST SAFETY ISSUE WITH THESE TRAILERS

MOVEMENT OF FRAME AWAY FROM TRAILER BODY. MOVEMENT OF TRAILER TONGUE AWAY FROM BODY AND SEPARATION OF BENCHES IN FRONT OF TRAILER INTERIOR. LAG SCREWS SHEARED OFF IN FRONT OF TRAILER WHERE THEY GO HORIZONTALLY THROUGH FRONT BODY AND IN TO FRAME OF TRAILER. WELDS MISSING FROM FRONT FORK OF TRAILER. FORK WELDED ON ONE SIDE ONLY. HORIZONTAL MOVEMENT OF TRAILER TONGUE AND FORK FROM BODY WHEN ON JACK STANDS.

AFTER NUMEROUS PHONE CALLS AND EMAILS TO GET LAZY DAYS IN COLORADO TO COMPLETE REQUIRED AND AGREED UPON RECALL WORK DONE ON MY CAMPER, THEY CONTINUE TO FAIL TO DO SO. THEY USE STALL TACTICS TO DISCOURAGE ME FROM GETTING THE WORK DONE. MY CAMPER HAS BEEN SITTING ON THEIR LOT FOR 4 WEEKS NOW AND THEY STILL HAVE NOT ORDERED PARTS. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE 2015 WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAMPER NEW FROM THEM. MY CAMPER WAS ON THEIR LOT FOR 5 MONTHS AT THAT TIME FOR RECALL WORK AND OTHER WORK. I DON?T NEED FREE STORAGE, I HAVE 5 ACRES AT MY HOUSE TO STORE IT ON. I HAVE CONTACTED THEM ON 12/14/16, 1/4/17, 1/7/17, 2/17/17, 2/15/17, 2/28/173/1/17, 4/3/17, 4/4/17, 4/6/17, 4/8/17. SOMETIMES I RECEIVE A RESPONSE SOMETIME I DO NOT. MY LAST REQUEST 4/6/17, WAS TO MEET PERSONALLY WITH MANAGERS TO GET AN UPDATE ON PARTS ORDERED AND WHEN I COULD EXPECT THE RECALL WORK ON MY CAMPER TO BE COMPLETED. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE. I HAVE A MORE DETAILED LETTER, BUT IT GOES OVER YOUR CHARACTER COUNT LIMIT. NHTSA RECALL NUMBER:15V553 I TOOK MY CAMPER IN FOR WINDOW RECALL WORK IT SAT FROM JAN TILL MID APRIL AND WAITED FOR THE WINDOWS TO COME IN TO BE REPLACED AND I WAS TOLD THEY ALL WERE REPLACED. THE CAMPER WAS PARKED AND I WHEN I OPENED THE WINDOWS TO LET SOME FRESH AIR IN THE CAMPER THE TOP WINDOW GLASS PULLED LOOSE FROM ITS ALUMINUM HINGE AND WAS DANGLING FROM THE MECHANISM THAT OPENS AND CLOSES THE WINDOW. I CONTACTED SHASTA WARRANTY DEPARTMENT ONCE THE WINDOW FELL OUT AND HE LOOKED UP MY CAMPERS REPAIR HISTORY AND THE ONLY WINDOWS THAT DIDN'T PASS INSPECTION AND HAD TO BE REPLACED WAS BACK WINDOW AND THE 2 UP FRONT. I WILL BE RETURNING FOR A WINDOW REPLACEMENT. SO IT LOOKS LIKE EVEN IF THE WINDOWS PASS THE INSPECTION THEY STILL CAN FALL OUT...

THIS TRAILER WAS MISSING SUPPORT/BRACING FOR THE FRONT END. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN LINKED TO COLLAPSING OF THE FRONT END OF THE TRAILER. AFTER BEING "FIXED" THERE IS DAYLIGHT COMING THROUGH THE FRONT END OF THE TRAILER. THE TWO WALL PIECES ARE ALSO PULLING APART. I HAVE RECEIVED NO RESPONSE FROM EMAIL TO FOREST RIVER OR THE DEALER/REPAIR SHOP ASKING THEM TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM.

TRAILER ENTRY DOOR BECOMES JAMMED AND IS NOT ABLE TO BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE OF THE TRAILER. THIS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THIS POSES A SERIOUS SAFETY RISK FOR ANYONE THAT MIGHT BE TRAPPED INSIDE THE TRAILER.

THE FRONT END OF MY SHASTA IS SAGGING AND BUCKLING DUE TO BEING STRUCTURALLY COMPROMISED. IT HAS BEEN REPAIRED BY THE DEALER 3 TIMES. I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT IT HAD BROKEN LAG BOLTS AND/OR DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH LAG BOLTS. THE FRONT PANEL IS LEANING ON AND TOUCHING THE PROPANE TANK. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF A LEAK OR EVEN WORSE IT BUCKLING CAUSING THE WORST CASE SCENARIO A FIRE OR EXPLOSION. I AM ALSO AWARE THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY OWNER THAT HAS THIS DEFECT AND CONCERN. I HAD A 550 MILE TRIP PLANNED FOR MAY 5 AND HAVE CANCELLED AND AM RENTING A CABIN BECAUSE I AM FEARFUL TO TOW IT THAT FAR. SAFETY IS MY NUMBER ONE CONCERN, AND I FEEL THAT THIS COMPROMISES THE SAFETY OF MYSELF, MY PASSENGERS, AND OTHER MOTORISTS.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FOREST RIVER SHASTA. WHILE PARKED, THE ESCAPE WINDOW OF THE CAMPER TRAILER SUDDENLY DETACHED. THE TRAILER WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ADHESIVE USED FAILED. THE CAMPER WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

I WAS WASHING MY CAMPER AND I WAS CUT A FEW TIMES ON ROUGH METAL BURR WHERE THE METAL WAS CUT/BROKEN ON BUMPER, AND A PIECE OF METAL STICKING OUT OF MY WING OF MY CAMPER.. I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE BLEEDING AND DIDN'T GO TO THE DOCTOR...

WHEN I TOOK MY CAMPER BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE IT LEAKED THE DAY I BOUGHT IT, THE BACK WINDOW POPPED OPEN AND WAS FLAPPING ON THE WAY TO DEALERSHIP. IF IT WOULD HAVE BUSTED OR CAME LOOSE THAT COULD HAVE CAUSE A BAD ACCIDENT... RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP TO BE REPAIRED..

THE DAY BEFORE WE WERE TO LEAVE AND GO CAMPING I WAS LOADING CAMPING STUFF INTO THE CAMPER AND THE DOOR BECAME STUCK AND WOULD NOT OPEN IT WAS VERY HOT THAT DAY LUCKILY I WASN'T TRAPPED IN THE TRAILER BECAUSE I WAS HOME ALONE AND MY CELL PHONE WAS IN THE HOUSE! I NOW TRY TO MAKE SURE THE PHONE IS ON ME IF I'M TO BE IN THE CAMPER INCASE THAT EVER HAPPENS WHILE I'M INSIDE. SO INSTEAD OF LEAVING TO THE CAMPGROUND ON TIME WE HAD TO GO 45 MILES IN THE WRONG DIRECTION FOR THEM TO OPEN THE DOOR SO WE COULD USE THIS CAMPER. WE ARRIVED 9:30 AM AND IT TOOK TILL 5:30PM FOR THEM TO FIX IT.

AFTER RETURNING MY CAMPER FOR MANY REPAIRS WHICH INCLUDES THE BACK WINDOW POPPING OPEN WHILE IN TRANSIT.. WE GET HOME FROM CAMPING AND SEE THE EMERGENCY BACK WINDOW LEVER ARM HANGING DOWN THE BACK OF THE CAMPER SO IT POPPED OPEN DOWN THE ROAD AGAIN! WE HAD ONE MORE CAMPING TRIP SO I CLOSED THE WINDOW AND I PUT A REUSABLE VELCRO STRAP AROUND THE WINDOW LEVER TO TRY AND KEEP IT CLOSED BUT WE WENT ON THE NEXT TRIP WE STOP TO GET GAS AND THE WINDOW WAS OPEN AGAIN SO I ADDED A TOTAL OF 3 STRAPS AND IT TEMPORARILY FIXED THE WINDOW TILL WE TOOK THE CAMPER BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE 4TH TIME...

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,500. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FOREST RIVER SHASTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE RV WAS BOUNCING WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND DISCOVERED THAT THE WHEEL WELL WAS FRACTURED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ROOF OF THE RV WAS LEAKING. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE EMERGENCY EXIT WINDOW OPENED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WHEEL WELL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37. *BF

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FOREST RIVER SHASTA. THE CONTACT OBSERVED THAT THE SUSPENSION OF THE VEHICLE WAS LOW, WHICH RESULTED IN THE VEHICLE BEING LESS THAN AN INCH FROM BOTH OF THE SIDE TIRES. THE FAILURE RECURRED CONTINUOUSLY. THE RV WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A SHACKLE INSTALLED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 84. THE CONSUMER STATED THE TIRES WERE UNSAFE AFTER LITTLE USE DUE TO THE SIDE OR TOP RUBBING ON THE COACH. THE DOOR LOCKS FAILED AND AS A RESULT, THE CONSUMER AND HER CHILDREN WERE LOCKED INSIDE. UPDATED 09/09/15. *JB THE GLUE ON THE WINDOWS FAILED AND THE GLASS BECAME LOOSE FROM THE FRAME.
