ECM CAUSES ENGINE RPM TO INCREASE DURING WARM/HOT WEATHER WHICH WILL NOT DROP TO NORMAL WHEN THE CLUTCH IS ENGAGED UNLESS THE THROTTLE IS PHYSICALLY MOVED (BLIPPED). THIS DANGEROUS AS IT DOESN'T ALWAYS HAPPEN AND CAN CAUSE THE CAR TO NOT DECELERATE WHEN THE THROTTLE PEDAL IS LIFTED. THIS IS NOT A ONCE A YEAR DEFECT AS YOU ASK BELOW; (HAD TO FILL IN THE BLOCKS OR I COULDN'T CONTINUE). IT IS PREVALENT ON ALL FWD ISUZU BUILT AUTOMOBILES FROM 1989 THROUGH 1994. *LA

AFTER I PURCHASED THIS CAR ON APPROX. 5/20/2002,I NOTICED A SMALL RUMBLING SOUND ACCOMPANIED WITH THE SMELL OF EXHAUST FUMES INSIDE THE VEHICLE.ON 9/1/2002 I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT WHEN I HEARD AN ENORMOUS RUMBLE I PROCEEDEDBACK HOME APPROX.2 BLOCKS. I THEN PUT THECAR UP ON CAR RAMPS AND SAW THE PIPE FROM THE MANIFOLD TO THECONVERTER WAS IN GOOD SHAPE EXCEPT AT THE FLANGE BY THE MANIFOLD IT WAS SHEARED (NO RUST)I THEN INSPECTED THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND DISCOVEREDA 5 INCH CRACK.I THEN CALLED REPAIR SHOPS ,THEY TELL ME THIS IS CONSTANT ON ALL GEO,S I CALLED 30 USED AUTO PARTS YARDS THEY TELL ME ALL GEO EXHAUST MANIFOLDS CRACK AND THERE ARE NONE TO BE FOUND.AS THIS IS AN EXHAUST AND POTENTIALY FATAL FLAW I WILL AWAIT YOUR RESPONSE BEFORE WRITING THE NEWSPAPERS.*AK

I HAVE TAKEN IT IN TO BE REPAIRED BUT THE PROBLEM STILL HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED.

WHEN THE WEATHER IS WARM OUTSIDE, THE ENGINE CONTINUES TO IDLE FAST (1500-1700 RPM) AFTER THE THROTTLE IS RELEASED. IT RETURNS TO NORMAL AFTER ABOUT 10 SEC. THIS WOULD PREVENT THE CAR FROM SLOWING DOWN AT LOWER SPEEDS UNLESS I DEPRESSED THE CLUTCH.*AK

I HAVE A 92 GEO STORM WITH 121,000 MILES. FOR ABOUT A FEW MONTHS NOW WHEN THE CAR IS FIRST STARTED WITHIN LIKE 5 MINUTES THE ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON AND THE IDLE WILL DROP TO LIKE 600RPMS AND THE CAR WILL SHAKE THEN THEH IDLE WILL GO UP TO 1500RPMS THEN DROP BACK TO 600 AGAIN THEN REPEAT. ONCE THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN AWHILE AND SHUTOFF IT WONT DO IT ANYMORE TILL THE CAR HAS BEEN OFF FOR A WHILE. ALTHOUGH LATELY ITS BEEN COMING ON A LOT MORE OFTEN.

VEHICLE WAS RUNNING BADLY AND ALOT OF EXHAUST FUMES WERE GETTING INTO THE CAB. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC, EXHAUST MANIFOLD WAS FOUND TO BE CRACKED. EXHAUST MANIFOLD CRACKED IN THE SAME AREA THAT WAS ONCE WELDED. DEALERSHIP STATED THAT PROBLEM WAS COMMON. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK

THE ENGINE BLEW IN THE CAR PURCHASED.TT CONSUMER STATES ENGINE IS NO GOOD PER MANUFACTURER AFTER USE OF ONLY 3 YEARS, MANUFACTURER WILL NOT REPLACE ENGINE AS IT IS 9000 MILES OVER WARRANTY, THERE IS NO PRIOR PROBLEM WITH AUTOMOBILE, CONSUMER STATED ENGINE SHOULD NOT HAVE BLOWN AFTER ONLY ONE TIME OVER HEATING, BELIEVES THIS TO BE A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT.*JB
