I bought car from a used car dealer ship. And didn’t really notice it had an air bag light on the cluster . Because newer vehicles the our bags stay off for passenger side if know one is in the seat. So that’s what I thought it was til I had it put on a computer. And it say it’s a sensor for passenger side air bag

The contact owns a 2007 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power with the battery saver mode activated. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic on two occasions, where the vehicle was diagnosed, and it was determined that the alternator and battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired on both occasions; however, the failure persisted. Additionally, the service air bag and transmission warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that there was smoke coming from the battery. The vehicle had not yet been taken back to the mechanic or a local dealer for further diagnostic test or repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the warranty had expired. The approximate failure mileage was 63,000.

2007 GMC ACADIA, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL AND STABILITRACK KEEPS POPPING UP. IT LOSES THE POWER STEERING OFF AND ON IF YOU DRIVE IT IN THE RAIN AT ANY SPEED. WINDOWS CAN NOT BE CONTROLLED BY DRIVERS MASTER BUTTONS. VEHICLE HAS 173000 MILES ON IT. PURCHASED USED FROM BUCKEYE NISSAN. NOTICED ISSUES RIGHT AWAY BUT THEIR MECHANIC SAID THERE IS NOTHING COMING UP WHEN THEY HOOK UP THE DIAGNOSTICS. NO WARRANTY WHEN PURCHASED USED, THIS IS MY FIRST VEHICLE PURCHASE. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE FOR A YEAR THEN GOT THE SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL AND STABILITRACK READING AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO OVER 5 MPH. STILL PAYING PAYMENTS ON THE VEHICLE, I COULD NOT AFFORD TO TAKE IT TO A MECHANIC SO I PURCHASED A CHEAP CAR FROM A FRIEND AND THE ACADIA SAT IN MY DRIVE WAY FOR 2 YEARS. AFTER I PAID IT OFF I STARTED TO LOOK INTO REPAIRING IT. I PUT A NEW BATTERY IN IT AFTER IT SAT FOR SO LONG AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP AND DROVE LIKE THERE WAS NEVER AN ISSUE. I HAVE SINCE REPLACED THE TORQUE CONVERTER. STILL GET ENGINE LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL TURNS OFF AND SERVICE STABILITRACK READING BUT HAS NOT HAD IT SLOW DOWN TO 5 MPH AGAIN. NOW IF I DRIVE IN THE RAIN THE POWER STEERING CUTS IN AND OUT AND IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS IT HAPPENS AT ANY SPEED. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL REVIEWS ON THIS VEHICLE THAT SAY THE SAME AS MINE. THE WORST PART IS THAT GM IS AWARE OF THESE ISSUES BUT WILL NOT ASSIST IN REPAIR IF THE VEHICLE HAS OVER A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF MILES ON IT.

WHEN IT RAINS EITHER HEAVILY OR FOR LONG PERIODS IN CHICAGO MY GMC TENDS TO FLOOD IN THE PASSENGER FLOOR AND BY THE TV AND 3RD ROW LIGHTS. I HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE SINCE WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN 2013. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR 6 YEARS AND I HAVE TAKEN IN TO A DEALERSHIP ONCE AND THEY QUOTED ME CLOSE TO $500 TO DO A TEST AND LET WATER RAIN ON THE CAR AND SEE IF IT IS A MANUFACTURE OR OWNER FAULTY ISSUE. I DID NOT JUMP ON TOP OF MY CAR AND CREATE A PROBLEM SO THAT MY CAR GETS FLOODED OR TO CAUSE THIS THAT I HAVE TO ALWAYS PLACE A TOWEL AND LEAVE MY WINDOWS OPEN AFTER SO THAT IT DOES NOT FOG THE ENTIRE CAR. I HAVE 4 CHILDREN AND DROPLETS HAVE FALLEN ON MY 7 MONTH OLD BABY WHILE I'M DRIVING. NO ONE CAN SIT IN THE PASSENGER SIDE. I HAVE HAD MY CAR DETAILED IN THE PAST SO THE MOLDING SMELL DOESN'T CAUSE MY KIDS TO WANT TO THROW UP. AIRBAGS SAY SERVICE AIRBAGS WHEN THEY HASN'T OPENED AND HASN'T GOTTEN INTO AN ACCIDENT IN THAT CAR. IT FRIGHTEN ME THAT I'M DRIVING A UNSAFE CAR WITH 4 CHILDREN. I CANNOT MAKE A REPAIR OF THAT AMOUNT NOR SHOULD I BE RESPONSIBLE TO HAVE THAT TESTED OUT.

PREMATURE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT I WAS JUMPING THE ACADIA FROM OUR 2012 FORD FUSION DUE TO A NO START - NO CRANK ISSUE. THE ACADIA'S BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DISCHARGED, SO I PLACED JUMPER CABLES ONTO THE POSITIVE END FROM THE FUSE BOX AND THE GROUND TERMINAL. THE ACADIA'S HORN WORKED, INDICATING ELECTRICAL POWER, SO I TRIED TO CRANK IT BUT IT DID NOT CRANK. I TURNED THE IGNITION KEY TO THE OFF POSITION AND SAT IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT FOR LESS THAN A MINUTE BEFORE THE DRIVER AIRBAG SUDDENLY DEPLOYED. THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. BEFORE THIS HAPPENED, THE ACADIA'S ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED BACK IN JULY OR AUGUST. THE CAR DROVE FINE FOR ABOUT A MONTH BEFORE THE CHARGING SYSTEM FAILED AND THE CAR WOULD NOT START AGAIN. THE CAR SAT IN THE YARD FOR ABOUT A MONTH BEFORE I TRIED TO JUMP IT OFF THE FIRST TIME. THE CAR DID START, BUT IT DIED ABOUT 5 MINUTES LATER. THE CAR SAT IN THE YARD FOR WEEK BEFORE I TRIED TO START IT AGAIN. THIS IS WHEN THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. ONE MORE THING: THE ACADIA LEAKED FROM THE SUNROOF, AND THE INSIDE OF THE CAR WAS WET. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ISSUE WITH THE ELECTRONICS. ATTACHED ARE PICTURES AFTER THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED.

I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FROM A DEALER, I INSTANTLY FELL IN LOVE WITH IT. LOVED THE ROOM AND ALL THE FEATURES. I HAVE OWED THIS FOR LESS THAN A YEAR. ONE DAY I HAD NOTICED WATER COMING INTO THE VEHICLE. I NOTICED IT MAINLY UNDER THE DRIVERS FLOOR. IT LOOKED MINOR SINCE THE RUGS ARE BLACK AND I HAVE RUBBER FLOOR MATS. THE REAL ISSUE HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND ON MY MESSAGE CENTER STATED TO SERVICE AIR BAGS. I DIDNT HAVE A CHANCE TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE SINCE THIS HAPPEN AROUND THE HOLIDAYS. I DECIDED NOT TO DRIVE MY GMC UNTIL I COULD GET INTO A GM DEALER. I CALLED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A LOCALE GM DEALER 2ND WEEK OF JANUARY TOOK TIME FROM WORK TO ADDRESS ISSUE AND TO ADDRESS THE TAILGATE RECALL. I ASK THEM TO FIND OUT WHY MY AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON AND IF SERVICE WAS NEEDED. IT WAS DETERMINED BY THE TECH THAT THERE WAS HEAVY WATER IN MY VEHICLE THAT LEAKED INTO THE AIR BAG MODULAR THAT IS LOCATED BEHIND THE GLOVE BOX. IT ALSO DAMAGE THE AIRBAG SENSOR LOCATED IN THE FLOOR UNDER THE RUG. MY HUSBAND ADVISED A REP AT THE DEALER THAT THE ISSUE MAY BE THE WATER CHANNELS. BUT PER THE TECH IT WAS DETERMINE THAT THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WAS CAUSE OF THE WATER PER THE TECH THE DRAINS ON MY SUNROOF WERE WORKING AND WAS NOT THE ISSUE FOR THE WATER. I WAS ADVISED IT WAS GOING TO COST ME $4200? TO HAVE THE AIRBAG FLOOR SENSORS, AIRBAG MODULE REPLACE, NEW RUG INSTALLED AND WINDSHIELD REPLACED. IT COST ME $3200 TO FIX WITHOUT HAVING THE RUG REPLACED SINCE MY CONCERN WAS THE AIRBAG COMMUNICATED WITH THE VEH. NO VEHICLE FOR 5 DAYS, RUG AIRED/DRIED BY DEALER AND FIXED. I GOT VEH BACK ON FRIDAY LESS THAN 72 HOURS LATER CALL TO GM DEALER. WATER IS STILL LEAKING IN SAME LOCATION SAME ISSUE, WATER IS NOT RESOLVED AFRAID THAT THE WATER IS GOING TO CAUSE A FURTHER DAMAGE TO VEHICLE AND AIRBAG. IM SURPRISED THAT THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE?

BOUGHT WITH 58K MILES ON IT, 9/2012. PROBLEMS BEGAN THE FOLLOWING APRIL. SITTING AT RED LIGHTS, THE TRUCK WOULD STALL OUT AT ACCELERATION, OCCASIONALLY NOT RESTARTING IMMEDIATELY. DEALERS COULDN'T REPLICATE PROBLEM. PROBLEM BRIEFLY STOPPED, AND NOW IT HAS RETURNED AND IS FAR WORSE. WHILE DRIVING, IT SHAKES AND JERKS LIKE A NEW DRIVER LEARNING TO USE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. SEVERAL TIMES THE TRUCK HAS SHUT OFF COMPLETELY ON HIGHWAYS WHILE CRUISING AT OR AROUND 70MPH OR ACCELERATING TO PASS SOMEONE, NEARLY CAUSING ACCIDENTS. FOR QUITE SOME TIME, THE FRONT RIGHT AIR BAG SENSOR DOES NOT SENSE THAT THERE IS A PASSENGER SITTING IN THE FRONT RIGHT SEAT. WE HAVE HAD THE SENSOR CHECKED REPEATEDLY AT THE DEALER, AND THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM (SAYING EVERYTHING IS FINE). THE PASSENGERS TYPICALLY ARE OUR CHILDREN, BOTH OF WHOM ARE 5'9" TALL AND WEIGH 120 TO 125 POUNDS. WE USUALLY HAVE TO STOP THE CAR, TURN THE CAR OFF AND THEN ON, AND THEN IT WORKS. THIS PAST WEEK, THE SENSOR WAS FLASHING, AND WE GOT A RELATED "SERVICE AIR BAG" LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD. WE TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALER, AND HAVE BEEN TOLD IT IS A $1,000 REPAIR TO REPLACE THE FRONT RIGHT PASSENGER SENSOR MODULE. THIS AFTER WE HAVE HAD THIS ITEM CHECKED MULTIPLE TIMES (AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THERE HAS BEEN NOTHING WRONG WITH IT), AND, AFTER A FULL EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE CAR (WHICH INCLUDED AIR BAGS) HAS EXPIRED. THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL FOR 2007 GMC ACADIAS FOR IMPROPER SENSORS, BUT OUR CAR WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. IN 'GOOGLING' THIS ISSUE ON THE INTERNET, WE SEE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ON OFFICIAL CAR SITES LIKE EDMUNDS, STATING A SIMILAR PROBLEM FOR OTHER ACADIAS. WE BELIEVE THAT GMC HAS KNOWN THAT IT HAS HAD FAULTY SENSORS ON THEIR 2007 GMC ACADIA MODELS, BUT DID NOT MAKE THEIR 2007 RECALL COMPREHENSIVE ENOUGH. I AM ON ACTIVE DUTY AN ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY MEMBER. WHILE ATTENDING A MILITARY SCHOOL, I PURCHASED A NEW 2007 GMC ACADIA FROM A GMC DEALERSHIP NEARBY. AFTER THE COURSE, I SERVED A YEAR AT A MILITARY STATION IN ANOTHER STATE, WHILE THERE, MY VEHICLE WAS SERVICED TWICE FOR RECALLS BY A GMC SERVICE CENTER NEARBY. ONE OF THE RECALLS WAS TO FIX A DEFECT IN THE SUN ROOF THAT WAS CAUSING WATER LEAKS. I HAD THE VEHICLE SERVICED IN 09 WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY JUST BEFORE SHIPPING FOR A 2 YEAR OVERSEAS ASSIGNMENT. AT THAT TIME, I IDENTIFIED SOME ELECTRICAL ISSUES. SOON AFTER MY ARRIVAL TO MY OVERSEAS ASSIGNMENT, MORE ELECTRICAL ISSUES DEVELOPED ALONG WITH MYSTERY WATER LEAKS THAT WERE SATURATING THE CARPET AND CAUSING MOLD TO GROW INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO GM SERVICE CENTER IN THAT COUNTRY SO I HAD TO LIVE WITH THE LEAKS AND ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. FINALLY AFTER ABOUT A YEAR, I HAD A MINOR ACCIDENT WHERE MY TIRE HIT A GUARD RAIL DOING ABOUT 10 MPH. ALL THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED BUT THERE WAS NO OTHER DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. AT THIS POINT I QUIT USING THE VEHICLE. THE SEAT BELTS DIDN'T WORK, THE AC AND HEATER DIDN'T WORK, THE LEFT BLINKER DIDN'T WORK, THE ENGINE WOULD NOT SHUT OFF WITH THE KEY, THE BATTERY BOX BEHIND THE PASSENGER SEAT KEPT FLOODING WITH WATER AND I HAD TO DISCONNECT A BATTERY CABLE EVERY TIME I PARKED THE CAR TO KEEP THE BATTERY FROM DYING. THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE. I AM NOW STATIONED IN THE US AND HAVE SHIPPED THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE USA. ON 4/20/201, I WAS DRIVING MY 2007 GMC ACADIA ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET AT OR NEAR THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT OF 35 MPH WHEN THE SIDE/CURTAIN AIRBAGS SPONTANEOUSLY DEPLOYED ON BOTH SIDES OF THE VEHICLE. THE ONLY SOUND I HEARD WAS THE DEPLOYMENT OF AIRBAGS. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. ONSTAR CAME ONLINE AND NOTIFIED THE LOCAL POLICE. WHEN THE POLICE ARRIVED, THE POLICE INVESTIGATED THE SCENE, INCLUDING SURVEYING THE ROAD BEHIND ME TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY POTHOLES OR DEBRIS. NOTHING WAS FOUND IN THE ROAD. AN INCIDENT REPORT WAS FILED BUT NO ACCIDENT REPORT WAS FILLED OUT. AAA WAS CALLED AND SHOWED UP WITH A FLATBED TRUCK AND TOWED MY CAR TO THE DEALER. WHEN THE CAR WAS OFFLOADED FROM OF THE TOW TRUCK, THE FRONT PASSENGER WHEEL WAS DAMAGED. THIS DAMAGE DID NOT OCCUR AT THE SCENE OF THE SPONTANEOUS DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAGS. GM HAS DENIED TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE MALFUNCTION OF THE VEHICLE. GM CLAIMS OPERATOR ERROR AND THAT THE AIRBAGS PERFORMED PROPERLY. THEIR CLAIM IS BASED UPON THE DAMAGE TO THE WHEEL AND THEY CLAIM THAT THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED BECAUSE THE VEHICLE TIPPED BEYOND THE 48 DEGREE THRESHOLD FOR THE FIRING OF THE AIRBAGS. THESE CLAIMS BY GM ARE FALSE. I WAS TRAVELING ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, I DID NOT HIT ANYTHING AND THE CAR DID NOT, AT ANYTIME, TIP ANYWHERE NEAR 48 DEGREES. 2007 GMC ACADIA WITH SEVERAL SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUES. SHE STATES THAT THE VEHICLE HAS HAD THESE PROBLEMS: A LARGE PUDDLE OF OIL UNDER THE VEHICLE, WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING, BATTERY DIED AND SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING. *KB THE DEALER TOLD THE CONSUMER THE FRONT SHAFT SEAL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED TO CORRECT THE LEAK FROM THE TRANSMISSION. THEY ALSO STATED THERE WAS A DRAIN ON THE SYSTEM THAT CAUSED THE BATTERY TO FAIL. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY UPGRADED THE TRANSMISSION, WHICH HAD TO BE DONE TWICE. THE POWER STEERING MADE A LOUD NOISE, THE CONSUMER STATED IT SOUNDED AS IF THE PUMP WAS ABOUT SEIZE AND THEN THE STEERING BECOMES HARD. INVOLVED IN FRONTAL COLISION WITH MAJOR DAMAGE PUSHED INTO THE DRIVERS DOOR MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO OPEN. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT INFLATE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN SOMEONE WEIGHING APPROXIMATELY 105 TO 110 POUNDS SITS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, THE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATES. THE ILLUMINATION INDICATES THAT THE AIR BAG IS DEACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY STATED THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG. WHILE COMPLETING A RIGHT TURN FROM A COMPLETE STOP I RODE UP ON A CURB AND ALL CURTAIN AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THERE IS NO PHYSICAL DAMAGE TO CAR EXTERIOR,TIRES, RIMS AND UNDERCARRIAGE. DAMAGE ASSESSMENT HAS BEEN CONFIRMED BY TWO GMC DEALERSHIPS AND MY INSURANCE COMPANY. I HAVE ASKED GMC TO PROVIDE INFORMATION REFERENCING WHETHER OR NOT THE SENSORS AND COMPUTER PERFORMED PER DESIGN. THE ONLY ANSWER I HAVE RECEIVED IS THAT THE YAW SENSOR IS WHAT TRIGGERED THE DEPLOYMENT, THAT ALL BAGS WHERE DEPLOYED AND THIS IS NOT A MANUFACTURER DEFECT BUT AN INSURANCE CLAIM. TO MY KNOWLEDGE NO ANALYSIS HAS BEEN DONE TO DETERMINE SPEED, ANGLE ETC... MY WIFE AND TWO CHILDREN WHERE IN THE VEHICLE WHEN THIS OCCURRED. WE ARE SO CONFIDENT THAT THE VEHICLE MALFUNCTIONED THAT UNLESS WE ARE REASSURED THAT GM HAS RESOLVED THE ISSUE WE WILL NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE ANY LONGER. *JB
