The contact stated that the water caused a short circuit, which caused the electrical system to stop sounding warning chimes, turn signals, and the radio was inoperable. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the amplifier needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The fire department extinguished the larger fire located by the AC wiring assembly. The fire department also stated that the fire was caused by an electrical failure and deemed the vehicle a total loss. The contact stated she burned multiple fingers on her right hand and the fire department assisted with her burns. A fire report was not filed. The vehicle was not drivable and was towed to a tow lot. The vehicle was not diagnosed. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

MY CAR HAS SERIOUS LEAKING ISSUES FROM THE SUNROOF ABOVE THE DRIVER, ELECTRICAL TO CABIN DOESN'T ALWAYS WORK EXCEPT DASH LIGHTS, AND HEADLIGHTS/TURN SIGNALS WORK SPORADICALLY. THE LOCKS WORK WHEN THEY'RE IN THE MOOD. ALSO MEANS AC/HEAT WORKS SOMETIMES..I LIVE UP NORTH AND IT'S 24 TODAY. MY WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID REMAINS EMPTY BECAUSE IT RANDOMLY TURNS ON AND DRAINS OUT: WHICH ALSO MEANS REPLACING MY WIPERS IS A BAD IDEA BECAUSE THEY RANDOMLY TURN ON FOR AT MOST AN HOUR AND DRY WIPING THE WINDOW...AND DESTROYING THE WIPER BLADES. ALL WHEEL DRIVE WON'T WORK, DESPITE MECHANIC SEEING NO ISSUES. I'VE TAKEN DOWN THE MOUNTS AND TRIED TO FLUSH THE DRAINING TUBES MYSELF..AND THEY'RE CLEAR WITH NO LEAKS WHEN I TESTED THE TUBES. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I WISH I COULD AFFORD TO FIX THIS, BECAUSE WE NEED THIS VEHICLE; EVERYDAY I'M SCARED TO DRIVE IT! WE WON'T DRIVE AT NIGHT FOR THE RISK OF THE HEADLIGHTS SHUTTING OFF, AND ALWAYS FINGERS CROSSED MY TURN SIGNALS WILL FUNCTION TODAY. I HAVE KIDS! VEHICLE WAS AT IDLE FOR 10 MINUTES BEFORE PUTTING IT IN TO DRIVE ON THE EVENING OF 3/3/2018. BEGAN DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND THE STABILITY/TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT IMMEDIATELY CAME AND BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY ON ACCELERATION. ALL THE DASH LIGHTS BEGAN TO FLICKER AND THEN ALL ELECTRICAL EVENTUALLY DIED WITHIN 30 SECONDS OF PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN TO DRIVE. ONCE THE CAR WAS SAFELY PULLED OVER, I NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD THAT HAD THE SMELL OF PLASTIC OR BURNT WIRES. I POPPED THE HOOD AND THE SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE FUSE BOX AREA. THANKFULLY THE CAR DIDN'T CATCH ON FIRE. SOME HISTORY ON THIS VEHICLE; IT WAS BROUGHT IN TO OUR LOCAL GMC DEALERSHIP AROUND SEPTEMBER 2016 WITH STABILITY TRAC CONTROL ISSUES WHICH WAS CAUSING THE CAR TO HESITATE ROUGHLY AT IDLE AND ACCELERATION. AFTER INVESTIGATING, THE DEALER FOUND THAT IT WAS A LOOSE WIRE ON THE BOTTOM OF THE FUSE BOX THAT WAS CAUSING THE PROBLEM; WHICH THEY FIXED AND THE PROBLEM NEVER CAME BACK UNTIL THE EVENING OF OUR INCIDENT WHEN THE STC LIGHT CAME ON; FOLLOWED BY THE ELECTRICAL FAILURE THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE VEHICLE... I'LL PUT MY MONEY ON THAT FUSE BOX AGAIN AS BEING THE CULPRIT. AAA (BATTERY SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN) CAME OUT THIS MORNING TO TAKE A LOOK AT IT AND WHEN HE TRIED TO RUN TESTS ON THE BATTERY BUT THE GMC WAS BACK FEEDING POWER IN TO HIS CABLES AND MELTED THEM AND THE CONNECTOR ON HIS TRUCK. HE SAID THAT HE THINKS THAT IT'S THE FUSE BOX (WITHOUT KNOWING HISTORY) BUT HAS NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS AND SUGGESTED THAT WE TAKE IT TO A SHOP. IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE THERE ARE ANY RECALLS RELATING TO THIS SO THIS WILL BE OUT OF POCKET TO KEEP MY FAMILY SAFE. CAR WILL BE HEADED TO THE SHOP SOON BUT DREADING THE THOUGHT OF THAT BILL I DON'T FEEL WE SHOULD HAVE TO PAY ON SEEING IS THAT THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE.

THE DEALER KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR OVER A MONTH DUE TO NO SOUND FOR THE TURN SIGNALS, VARIOUS WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, AND THE VEHICLE WAS SLOW TO PICK UP SPEED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE AND DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE FOR OVER A MONTH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES MONTHS LATER TO DETERMINE IF THEY MAY BE ABLE TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000.

TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AND SAUND PROBLEMS
THE ACADIA HAD A RECALL ON THE SUNROOF FOR LEAKING LARGE AMOUNTS OF WATER INTO THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER. MY ACADIA HAD THIS PROBLEM AND WATER LEAKED INTO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE DOWN THE FRAME ADJACENT TO THE DOOR AND WINDOW THROUGH THE PASSENGER SIDE DASH INTO THE FLOOR AREA. THERE IS A FUSE BOX LOCATED IN THIS AREA AS WELL AS A VERY LARGE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR THAT CONNECTS TWO PORTIONS OF THE WIRING HARNESS. THE EXPOSURE OF THIS COMPONENT TO WATER HAS RESULTED IN CORROSION OCCURRING WITH THIS CONNECTOR. THIS IS A MAJOR CONNECTOR AFFECTING MULTIPLE SYSTEMS OF THE VEHICLE. THE SYSTEM GIVING ME THE LARGEST CAUSE FOR CONCERN IS THE DOOR LOCKS. ON A DAILY BASIS THE LOCKS WON'T RESPOND TO THE LOCK/UNLOCK BUTTON ON ANY OF THE DOORS NOT WILL I RESPOND TO THE LOCK/UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE KEY REMOTE. THIS POSES A SIGNIFICANT EGRESS DANGER AS THE ONLY WAY TO UNLOCK ANY OF THE DOORS IS TO MANUALLY PUT UP THE LOCK. THIS IS FOR EVERY DOOR, ALL FOUR OF THEM. I HAVE AN INFANT IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE VEHICLE AND IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION IT WOULD REQUIRE ME TO LITERALLY CRAWL FROM THE FRONT DRIVER SEAT TO THE REAR SEAT, MANUALLY UNLOCK THE DOOR AND THEN ATTEMPT TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. THIS ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR AS THE FAULT DUE TO CORROSION FROM WATER HAS BEEN OCCURRING NOT JUST TO ME, IT HAS BEEN OCCURRING TO MANY OWNERS THAT SUFFERED FROM LEAKING ROOFS ON THEIR BRAND NEW VEHICLES. I FEEL THAT GMC NEEDS TO STEP UP AND ACKNOWLEDGE THE SAFETY HAZARD THEY CREATED AND SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE. BY THE NHTSA IF THEY WILL NOT DO IT THEMSELVES.

LEAKING HAS CAUSED MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. WHEN THERE IS A HEAVY RAIN IGNITION WILL STILL RUN EVEN AFTER KEY IS TURNED OFF AND KEY IS OUT OF IGNITION CAR IS CURRENTLY AT 130,000. ALSO IGNITION WILL POWER DOWN EVEN WHILE CARE IS IN MOTION WARNING LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE STATING "ENGINE POWER REDUCED" "TRACTION CONTROL OFF" AND VEHICLE WILL NOT MOVE. CAR HAS HAD MORE PROBLEMS THAN ANY OTHER I HAVE OWNED, WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER GM VEHICLE.

THE NEXT DAY I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO WORK WHILE DRIVING HOME AT A STOP LIGHT THE TRUCK STARTED TO SHAKE AND ALL OF THE SAME MESSAGES STARTED TO COME UP AGAIN, TRACTION CONTROL OFF, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, SERVICE STABILITITRAK, ENGINE POWER REDUCED. I WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE AND TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND THE SAME THING CONTINUED TO HAPPEN WITH THE ENGINE SHAKING AND THE INFORMATION CENTER DISPLAYING EVERYTHING ALL OVER AGAIN. I CALLED A LOCAL GMC DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN. I WAS ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE BACK UP AGAIN AND THE TRUCK WAS FINE, ON THE FREEWAY THE SAME THING HAPPEN SO I DROVE ON THE FRONTAGE ROAD. THE DEALER COULD NOT SERVICE IT DUE TO 3 DAYS WORTH OF WORK TO BE DONE. I WAS TAKING IT HOME AND THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN. WE FINALLY GOT IT TO ANOTHER DEALER AND IT CONTINUED TO SNOW, I WENT BACK TO GET SOMETHING OUT OF THE TRUCK AND THE BACK SEATS OF THE TRUCK WERE WET AND I COULD SEE WATER ON THE SECOND ROW. I AM HOPING THAT ITS NOT WIRING ISSUES DO TO ISSUES WITH WATER LEAKAGE FROM THE MOON ROOF OF OUR TRUCK THAT WE FOUND WHILE SEARCHING ON YOUTUBE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, SHE NOTICED THAT WIRES WERE BURNING IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. DEALERS COULDN'T REPLICATE PROBLEM. PROBLEM BRIEFLY STOPPED, AND NOW IT HAS RETURNED AND IS FAR WORSE. WHILE DRIVING, IT SHAKES AND JERKS LIKE A NEW DRIVER LEARNING TO USE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. SEVERAL TIMES THE TRUCK HAS SHUT OFF COMPLETELY ON HIGHWAYS WHILE CRUISING AT OR AROUND 70MPH OR ACCELERATING TO PASS SOMEONE, NEARLY CAUSING ACCIDENTS. THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN TOWED HOME 3 TIMES THIS MONTH FROM THIS ISSUE, I REFUSED TO TAKE IT TO A GMC DEALER BECAUSE I CAN'T KEEP PAYING $109 FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THEY SAY THEY DON'T FIND ANYTHING (TWICE ALREADY). I RECENTLY HAD THE VEHICLE SCANNED INDEPENDENTLY AND IT'S GIVEN ME CODES 7EA AND 7E8. THE SECOND CODE DOESN'T GIVE A DIAGNOSIS. WE PURCHASED THIS ACADIA USED IN APRIL 2010 WITH ABOUT 40,000 MILES. IN EARLY JULY 2012 THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. THIS HAS BEEN REPAIRED UNDER OUR EXTENDED WARRANTY AS OF JULY 15, 2012. ON AUGUST 1, 2013, OUR TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AGAIN. DURING THE FIRST YEAR OF OWNING THIS VEHICLE, WE HAVE HAD THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS OPERATING ERRATICALLY AND THE RADIO WILL NOT ALWAYS SHUT OFF WHEN THE ENGINE HAS BEEN STOPPED AND DRIVER'S DOOR OPENED & CLOSED (POSSIBLE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS). WE'VE ASKED OUR GMC DEALERSHIP TO ADDRESS THE ELECTRIC, BUT EACH TIME THEY SAY NOTHING SHOWS ANY ERRORS ON THEIR COMPUTER TESTS. IF THIS HAS BEEN A WIDESPREAD AND KNOWN PROBLEM, THIS WAS NOT SHARED BY OUR DEALERSHIP. GIVEN OUR VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 100K MILES AND WILL LIKELY HAVE A 3RD TRANSMISSION IN ITS 6 YEAR AGE, THIS IS NOT A VEHICLE I FEEL SAFE HAVING MY WIFE AND 3 YOUNG CHILDREN CONTINUE TO RIDE IN. DUE TO INSTALLATION OF A FACTORY DEFECT PART IN THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM THE WATER COLLECTION DRAINAGE SYSTEM FOR THE EVAPORATOR BECOMES PLUGGED FROM THE INSIDE. MY LOCAL GMC DEALER CLAIMED THIS PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY A "CAM EXHAUST POSITION SENSOR FAULT" AND REPLACED THE "CAM EXHAUST POSITION SENSOR" ON 3-20-13 FOR $370.51. FOR ONE WEEK THIS REPAIR WORKED AND THERE WERE NO STABILITRAK ERRORS. TEN DAYS LATER, MY 2007 GMC ACADIA FWD IS WORSE THAN EVER, ENDANGERING ME AT NIGHT BY SHIFTING SUDDENLY INTO "STABILITRAK ERROR, LOW FUEL INPUT" MODE. FOR QUITE SOME TIME, THE FRONT RIGHT AIR BAG SENSOR DOES NOT SENSE THAT THERE IS A PASSENGER SITTING IN THE FRONT RIGHT SEAT. WE HAVE HAD THE SENSOR CHECKED REPEATEDLY AT THE DEALER, AND THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM (SAYING EVERYTHING IS FINE). THE PASSENGERS TYPICALLY ARE OUR CHILDREN, BOTH OF WHOM ARE 5'9" TALL AND WEIGH 120 TO 125 POUNDS. WE USUALLY HAVE TO STOP THE CAR, TURN THE CAR OFF AND THEN ON, AND THEN IT WORKS. THIS PAST WEEK, THE SENSOR WAS FLASHING, AND WE GOT A RELATED "SERVICE AIR BAG" LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD. WE TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALER, AND HAVE BEEN TOLD IT IS A $1,000 REPAIR TO REPLACE THE FRONT RIGHT PASSENGER SENSOR MODULE. THIS AFTER WE HAVE HAD THIS ITEM CHECKED MULTIPLE TIMES (AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THERE HAS BEEN NOTHING WRONG WITH IT), AND, AFTER A FULL EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE CAR (WHICH INCLUDED AIR BAGS) HAS EXPIRED. THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL FOR 2007 GMC ACADIAS FOR IMPROPER SENSORS, BUT OUR CAR WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. IN 'GOOGLING' THIS ISSUE ON THE INTERNET, WE SEE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ON OFFICIAL CAR SITES LIKE EDMUNDS, STATING A SIMILAR PROBLEM FOR OTHER ACADIAS. WE BELIEVE THAT GMC HAS KNOWN THAT IT HAS HAD FAULTY SENSORS ON THEIR 2007 GMC ACADIA MODELS, BUT DID NOT MAKE THEIR 2007 RECALL COMPREHENSIVE ENOUGH. I EXPERIENCED WATER LEAKING AND RUNNING DOWN THE INSIDE OF BOTH OF THE FRONT DOORS. IN ADDITION, THE DASH LIGHTS FADED IN AND OUT INTERMITTENTLY, THE CLOCK LOSES TIME, THE NAV AND RADIO SCREEN BLACKS OUT, AND THE STABILITY TRAK SERVICE LIGHT COMES ON. THEY "FIXED" THE WATER LEAK BY EXTENDING THE DRAIN HOSES ON THE SUNROOF. ALL OF THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WERE FOUND TO BE RELATED TO THE LEAKS IN THE SUNROOF. ON SEPT. 18THE OF THE SAME YEAR, I RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO HAVE A RECALL ON THE SUNROOF DRAINS PERFORMED. I ADVISED THAT I WAS STILL HAVING THE SAME ELECTRICAL ISSUES. A DIMMER SWITCH WAS ORDERED. ON FEB. 20, 2012 I STARTED MY VEHICLE AND HEARD A FAINT PINGING NOISE LIKE A DYING SMOKE ALARM EMITTING FROM THE PASSENGER DASH AREA. I TOOK IT TO A GMC CENTER AND WAS TOLD THAT WATER HAD LEAKED BEHIND THE DASH, CAUSING CORROSION AND A SHORT IN THE IP FUSE BOX. I HAD TO PAY ALMOST $1,000 TO HAVE THE LEAK SEALED (DESIGN FLAW) AND HAD TO HAVE A NEW ELECTRICAL BLOCK INSTALLED. I CALLED AND COMPLAINED TO GM THAT I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR DAMAGE THAT RESULTED FROM 1) A POOR DESIGN AND 2) DAMAGE THAT SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED SINCE I HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE IN TWICE ON PRIOR LEAKS WHICH WERE SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN FIXED. IT HAS BEEN THREE WEEKS AND I AM STILL GETTING THE RUN AROUND FROM GM. NOW THEY CLAIM IT WASN'T THE SUNROOF LEAKING, BUT THE DOOR. AFTER THE COURSE, I SERVED A YEAR AT A MILITARY STATION IN ANOTHER STATE, WHILE THERE, MY VEHICLE WAS SERVICED TWICE FOR RECALLS BY A GMC SERVICE CENTER NEARBY. ONE OF THE RECALLS WAS TO FIX A DEFECT IN THE SUN ROOF THAT WAS CAUSING WATER LEAKS. I HAD THE VEHICLE SERVICED IN 09 WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY JUST BEFORE SHIPPING FOR A 2 YEAR OVERSEAS ASSIGNMENT. AT THAT TIME, I IDENTIFIED SOME ELECTRICAL ISSUES. SOON AFTER MY ARRIVAL TO MY OVERSEAS ASSIGNMENT, MORE ELECTRICAL ISSUES DEVELOPED ALONG WITH MYSTERY WATER LEAKS THAT WERE SATURATING THE CARPET AND CAUSING MOLD TO GROW INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO GM SERVICE CENTER IN THAT COUNTRY SO I HAD TO LIVE WITH THE LEAKS AND ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. FINALLY AFTER ABOUT A YEAR, I HAD A MINOR ACCIDENT WHERE MY TIRE HIT A GUARD RAIL DOING ABOUT 10 MPH. ALL THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED BUT THERE WAS NO OTHER DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. AT THIS POINT I QUIT USING THE VEHICLE. THE SEAT BELTS DIDN'T WORK, THE AC AND HEATER DIDN'T WORK, THE LEFT BLINKER DIDN'T WORK, THE ENGINE WOULD NOT SHUT OFF WITH THE KEY, THE BATTERY BOX BEHIND THE PASSENGER SEAT KEPT FLOODING WITH WATER AND I HAD TO DISCONNECT A BATTERY CABLE EVERY TIME I PARKED THE CAR TO KEEP THE BATTERY FROM DYING. THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE. I AM NOW STATIONED IN THE US AND HAVE SHIPPED THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE USA. I AM NOW TRYING TO RESOLVE ALL THESE ISSUES WITH A LOCAL GM SERVICE CENTER BUT I AM BEING TOLD BY THAT SERVICE CENTER THAT THE VEHICLE IS BASICALLY TOTALED WITH ONLY 60K MILES BUT SINCE IT IS NOW OUT OF WARRANTY, I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIRS. *TR

GM INSTITUTED RECALL CAMPAIGN #08207: CUSTOMER SATISFACTION - SUNROOF WATER LEAK-INSTALL DRAIN TUBE EXTENSIONS ' DATED: AUG 27, 2008. CAMPAIGN WAS PRECEDED BY NUMEROUS TSBS LINKED TO THE SAME TYPE OF WATER LEAK. AFTER FIRST LEAK IN OCT08, BROUGHT VEHICLE IN FOR THE RECALL AND EXPERIENCED 2 SUBSEQUENT LEAKS SINCE THE INITIAL RECALL REPAIR AS A RESULT OF THE SAME CONDITION. HAVE HAD MOLD IN THE CARPET AND PADDING ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS. HAVE HAD SIGNIFICANT CORROSION IN ONE OF THE 2 MAIN FUSE BLOCKS TO THE POINT WHERE SRVC. TECH AT THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT TURN VEHICLE OFF USING THE IGNITION KEY. VEHICLE LEAKS AFTER DRIVING IN RAIN. HAVE SERVICE INVOICES STATING THAT DEALER PERFORMED WATER TESTS AFTER EACH REPAIR AND FOUND NO LEAK YET VEHICLE HAS LEAKED AFTER EVERY REPAIR. HAVE DETAILED COLOR PHOTOS OF SOAKED WIRES, SATURATED HEADLINER, MOLD DAMAGE AND CORRODED FUSE BLOCK. VEHICLE WAS ONLY DRIVEN A TOTAL OF 689 MILES FROM DATE OF THE INITIAL LEAK TO DATE OF THE THIRD LEAK. DURING THIRD LEAK, WATER ALSO DRIPPED FROM VEHICLE'S REAR DISPLAY ONTO THIRD ROW SEATS. I FEEL THAT GM KNEW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM FROM THE BEGINNING BECAUSE THEIR AUG08 #08207 RECALL ACTUALLY IDENTIFIED VIN BREAKPOINTS OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES. INSTEAD, GM CHOSE TO DEAL WITH IT ON A CASE-TO-CASE BASIS AND IT HAS BECOME A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE. THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE WATER DAMAGE CAN AND HAVE ALREADY BEEN FAR-REACHING AND POTENTIALLY COULD INJURE, KILL OR AFFECT THE HEALTH OF OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES. 2007 GMC ACADIA WITH SEVERAL SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUES. SHE STATES THAT THE VEHICLE HAS HAD THESE PROBLEMS: A LARGE PUDDLE OF OIL UNDER THE VEHICLE, WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING, BATTERY DIED AND SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING. *KB THE DEALER TOLD THE CONSUMER THE FRONT SHAFT SEAL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED TO CORRECT THE LEAK FROM THE TRANSMISSION. THEY ALSO STATED THERE WAS A DRAIN ON THE SYSTEM THAT CAUSED THE BATTERY TO FAIL. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY UPGRADED THE TRANSMISSION, WHICH HAD TO BE DONE TWICE. THE POWER STEERING MADE A LOUD NOISE, THE CONSUMER STATED IT SOUNDED AS IF THE PUMP WAS ABOUT SEIZE AND THEN THE STEERING BECOMES HARD. SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THIS NEW 2007 GMC ACADIA. MOST PREVALENT IS THE FAILURE OF THE GAS GAUGE NOT READING THE GAS READING CORRECTLY. 1ST TIME NOTICED AND TAKEN FOR SERVICE WAS 3 MO. OLD. THE GAS GAUGE READS (E) WHEN I'VE JUST FILLED UP THE TANK. DEALER REPLACED 02 SENSORS. 1 MO LATER EXPERIENCE SAME ISSUE. GAS GAUGE READS (E) EVEN WHEN TANK IS FULL. TAKEN BACK TO DEALER AND THIS TIME REPLACE (2) O2 SENSORS AND THE "SENDING UNIT". 2 DAYS LATER, WITH THE GAS GAUGE READING AT HALF FULL, THE CAR LUNGES FORWARD INTO ANOTHER GEAR ON FREEWAY IN TRAFFIC, AND STALLS. CANNOT TURN CAR ON - ALL WARNING LIGHTS ON. TOWED TO DEALER. NOW STATES THAT I NEED A WHOLE NEW GAS TANK BECAUSE THE "BAFFLE" IS BROKEN? STILL AT THE DEALER AND IS UNRESOLVED. THIS CAR IS UNSAFE. PREVIOUS ISSUES: CAR LEAKS AT THE SUNROOF. NOT FIXED YET LUMBAR SUPPORT BROKEN - SOMEWHAT FIXED BUT STILL NOT LIKE THE NEW ONES ON THE LOT.
