The contact owns a 2007 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power with the battery saver mode activated. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic on two occasions, where the vehicle was diagnosed, and it was determined that the alternator and battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired on both occasions; however, the failure persisted. Additionally, the service air bag and transmission warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that there was smoke coming from the battery. The vehicle had not yet been taken back to the mechanic or a local dealer for further diagnostic test or repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the warranty had expired. The approximate failure mileage was 63,000.

when accelerating onto the freeway, hit 55mph and the car just stopped going. it would not go into any gear, turned off car and it still wouldnt go into gear. AAA showed up said "oh, we see this in the acadia all the time" plugged something in under the dash, the check engine light went off and he said "there you go, now it'll work fine, just dont give it hard gas when getting up to speed" turns out the code was a tranny code that when he cleared it the tranny would then work. Its bad enough i have to deal with this leaking A/C unit, 3 cans a week, and that smell is terrible, i cant even get the car up to speed when entering the freeway traffic. please make gmc fix these issues, i know im not the only one with both issues. MY 2007 GMC ACADIA SPONTANEOUSLY CAUGHT FIRE WHILE DRIVING. NO WARNING LIGHTS AND OR NOTIFICATIONS CAME ON. MY CAR BEGAN TO FILL WITH SMOKE FROM THE FLOORBOARD AND SMOKE CAME FROM THE HOOD. THE FRONT END OF THE CAR WAS FULLY ENGULFED IN A MATTER OF MINUTES, TOTAL LOSS.

GMC PLEASE TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THE SUNROOF LEAK ISSUE! YEARS OF DATA, ALMOST 100 COMPLAINTS, SOMEONE SHOULD ALREADY KNOW ABOUT THIS AND HAVE A SOLUTION! MY CAR HAS SERIOUS LEAKING ISSUES FROM THE SUNROOF ABOVE THE DRIVER, ELECTRICAL TO CABIN DOESN'T ALWAYS WORK EXCEPT DASH LIGHTS, AND HEADLIGHTS/TURN SIGNALS WORK SPORADICALLY. THE LOCKS WORK WHEN THEY'RE IN THE MOOD. ALSO MEANS AC/HEAT WORKS SOMETIMES..I LIVE UP NORTH AND IT'S 24 TODAY. MY WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID REMAINS EMPTY BECAUSE IT RANDOMLY TURNS ON AND DRAINS OUT: WHICH ALSO MEANS REPLACING MY WIPERS IS A BAD IDEA BECAUSE THEY RANDOMLY TURN ON FOR AT MOST AN HOUR AND DRY WIPING THE WINDOW...AND DESTROYING THE WIPER BLADES. ALL WHEEL DRIVE WON'T WORK, DESPITE MECHANIC SEEING NO ISSUES. I'VE TAKEN DOWN THE MOUNTS AND TRIED TO FLUSH THE DRAINING TUBES MYSELF..AND THEY'RE CLEAR WITH NO LEAKS WHEN I TESTED THE TUBES. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I WISH I COULD AFFORD TO FIX THIS, BECAUSE WE NEED THIS VEHICLE; EVERYDAY I'M SCARED TO DRIVE IT! THE DEALER DRAINED AND REFILLED THE FLUID. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER STOPPED WORKING OCCASIONALLY AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND FOUND NO FAILURE. IN ADDITION, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS NEVER WORKED AND THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE STRUTS WERE FAULTY. TRANSMISSION SHUTTERS AT 2ND, 3RD AND 4TH GEAR ONLY AT LOW SPEEDS OR UNDER TENSION. NAVIGATION KEEPS SAYING DISC READ ERROR. SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO GET 2 FREE DISC WITH THE LIFE OF THE CAR BUT IT NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO GET. I HATE THIS CAR. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH IT SINCE WE HAVE GOTTEN IT. DURING COLD WEATHER STABILITY TRAC KICKS IN AND WILL NOT REGAIN POWER EVEN THOUGH THERE IS NO BAD ROAD CONDITIONS (SUCH AS SNOW, ICE, OR RAIN) IT SEEMS TO ACTIVATE WHEN THE WEATHER IS COLD. IT BARLEY MOVES INHIBITING NORMAL TRAFFIC FLOW WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS. FIXED MOON ROOF LEAKS CAUSING THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS TO MALFUNCTION AND RAIN WATER DRIPS ON PASSENGERS AND THOROUGHLY SOAKS THE CARPETS LEAVING A MILDEW SMELL.

WE GOT THIS 2007 GMC ACADIA AT 100,230 MILES ON AUGUST 2014. NOW IT HAS AROUND 133,800 MILES. AT 115,000 MILES IT STATED TO HAVE ISSUES WHERE IT SAID STABILITY TRACK. THE TRACTION CONTROL TURNS OFF BY ITSELF AND NOT SURE IF THE STABILITY AND THIS ARE THE SAME THING. SOME ELECTRIC PARTS HAVE ALREADY FAILED. THE CHARGING OUTLET AND ELECTRIC WINDOWS DON'T WORK RIGHT. THE PASSENGER SIDE CAN NOT BE PUT DOWN BY DRIVER SIDE. THE REAR RIGHT SIDE CAN ONLY BE PUT DOWN OF UP BY THE DRIVER. THE LEFT REAR DOES NOT WORK WHEN THE DRIVER PUTS IT DOWN OR UP. THE POWER IN THE LIFT GATE IN THE BACK HAS GONE OUT. IT ONLY OPENS OR CLOSES MANUALLY. THERE WAS ALSO A RECALL WITH THE LIFT GATE AND WE GOT IT FIXED. AFTER IT WAS FIXED THEN A WHILE LATER IT WOULD CLOSE ON US AND IT ALMOST HIT US BUT WE REACTED FAST. IT ONLY CLOSED ON US ABOUT THREE TIMES THEN IT STOPPED WORKING. IT WAS RECALL 15240.THE SAFETY ISSUE IS THAT THE STEERING WHEEL GETS HARD TO TURN WHEN MAKING A TURN OR U TURN. IT HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES AS I AM DRIVING. ONE TIME IS ALMOST MADE ME CRASH INTO A CAR. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO TWO MECHANICS AND IT HAS ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION CODES. FOR JUST THE TRANSMISSION CODES IT WILL COST ME UP TO $4,000. ACCORDING TO THE CARFAX RECORDS IT HAS HAD INTERNAL TRANSMISSION REPAIRS AT 53,543 MILES. I FEEL LIKE THIS CAR POST A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE OF THE STEERING WHEEL PROBLEM. WE HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR 3YEARS AND WE HAVE EXPERIENCED MANY PROBLEMS WITH IT. GM SHOULD PAY FOR THIS FAULTY PARTS.

THE DEALER KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR OVER A MONTH DUE TO NO SOUND FOR THE TURN SIGNALS, VARIOUS WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, AND THE VEHICLE WAS SLOW TO PICK UP SPEED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE AND DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE FOR OVER A MONTH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES MONTHS LATER TO DETERMINE IF THEY MAY BE ABLE TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000.

I TOOK IT SEVERAL TIMES TO THE DEALER, ACTUALLY A TOWN TRUCK HAD TO TAKE IT BECAUSE IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IT. IT TOOK A LOT OF TIME AND EFFORT FOR ME TO FINALLY GET MY GMC ACADIA FIXED. THAT WAS IN 2015. TWO YEARS LATER I HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY TRANSMISSION AGAIN, MY GMC HAS NOW 104,000 MILES. I WENT BACK TO THE GMC DEALER WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED BEFORE, BUT THEY TOLD ME THAT GUARANTEE HAD ENDED 2 MONTHS AGO AND I HAD TO PAY $1,021 TO GET THE TRANSMISSION FIXED. I'M ALSO HAVING PROBLEMS WITH HOOD LIFT AND THE HEADLIGHT SWITH IS NOT WORKING

THE SUNROOF LEAKS AND CAUSES ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING THE POWER STEERING GEARS, RACK, AND BUSHINGS ARE DEFECTIVE CAUSING THE POWER STEERING TO GO OUT DURING LOW SPEEDS. TRIED HAVING IT REPLACED UNDER THE RECALL, HOWEVER, 9 MONTHS LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED AND NOBODY WANTS TO FIX IT OR ALLOWS FOR THE DEALER TO REPLACE IT AGAIN. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY FEATURE THAT SHOULD NEVER BE ACCEPTABLE! ALSO, THE TRANSMISSION ALREADY HAD TO BE REPLACED AND IS GOING OUT AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURE MADE A FAULTY VEHICLE AND SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THESE PARTS AND THE LABOR NOT TO MENTION THE INCONVENIENCE OF HAVING TO FIGHT WITH THE DEALER AND GM TO GET THE PROBLEM CORRECTED.

IN LATE SUMMER OF 2014 I NOTICE THAT MY TRANSMISSION WAS NOT RIGHT. ON SEPTEMBER 16, 2014 I HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AT A COST OF $3,999 AT ONLY 123,228 MILES. THIS CAR WAS BUILT AND ADVERTISED TO PULL BOATS AND CAMPERS. I HAVE NOT PULLED ANYTHING EVER WITH THE CAR. IN MARCH OF 2015 I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM GMC THAT THEY WOULD REIMBURSE 2007 GMC ACADIA OWNERS IF THEY HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. TRANSMISSION SLIPPING JERKS AND BUMPS WHEN SHIFTING. PASSENGERS NOTED THERE WAS ISSUES ALSO. LOSES POWER GOING UP HILLS. TOOK IT TO COCHRAN PONTIAC FOR TWO YEARS AND DID NOT CORRECT SITUATION, SINCE THERE WERE NO CODES ON THE COMPUTER EVEN THOUGH THE CAR HAD NO POWER AND WAS JERKING. ENGINE LIGHT, ANTILOCK BRAKING, NO REAR SENSORS, AND THE FUEL GAUGE LIGHTS ARE NOW ON AFTER ANOTHER DEALER FIXED TRANSMISSION AND I HAD TO PAY $1,500 AND I SHOULD HAVE NOT PAID ANYTHING. I DID NOT HAVE THESE LIGHTS ON MY DASH BOARD WHEN I WENT TO GET THE TRANSMISSION FIXED AND THE DEALER HAS NOT FIXED THEM. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT BURNING FUMES WERE EMITTED INTO THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, SHE NOTICED THAT WIRES WERE BURNING IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. EVERY SINCE I PURCHASED MY 2007 GMC ACADIA, I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH STEERING ESPECIALLY WHEN IT RAINS AND WATER GETS UNDERNEATH THE TRUCK. I HAVE LOST CONTROL OF THE TRUCK SEVERAL TIMES. THEN THERE WAS A RECALL ON IT FOR THAT REASON. THEY PUT SOME KIND OF PROTECTION BEHIND BOTH OF THE FRONT WHEELS, BUT I CONTINUE TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH POWER STEERING AND LOSING CONTROL OF THE TRUCK. IT GETS VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN THE WHEEL; IT STIFFENS UP AND YOU CANNOT CONTROL THE TRUCK. THIS HAPPENS EVEN AFTER I HAVE PUT POWER STEERING FLUID IN THE VEHICLE. IT WILL EASE UP A BIT, THEN CONTINUES TO BE DIFFICULT TO TURN AND EVEN MAKES A SOUND WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TURN THE WHEEL. ANOTHER PROBLEM IS THAT SOMETHING KEEPS MAKING THE TEMPERATURE HANDLE GO ALL THE WAY ON HOT AND A TERRIBLE FUME SMELL IS RELEASED AND ITS LIKE THE TRUCK IS OVER-HEATING. ANOTHER ISSUE IS THE ELECTRIC: POWER WINDOWS WORK SOMETIMES, RADIO WORKS SOMETIMES, DVD PLAYER WORKS SOMETIMES, ETC. THIS BECOMES ANNOYING TO KNOW THAT YOU HAVE A "SOMETIME" VEHICLE. 2007 GMC ACADIA WITH 108,000 MILES. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED AND THE TRANSMISSION WENT INTO SAFE MODE AND WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF 2ND GEAR. CODE GENERATED WAS THE "SHIFT SOLENOID STUCK OPEN". TRANSMISSION SHOP STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WILL TOTALLY FAIL SOON AND NEEDED TO BE REBUILD AT A COST OF $4500. THE TRANSMISSION GUY SAID THAT I WAS LUCKY TO GET OVER 100,000 MILES BECAUSE THEY USUALLY FAIL BETWEEN 80-90,000 MILES. HE STATED IT WAS A HORRIBLE DESIGN FOR A TRANSMISSION AND INADEQUATE PARTS WERE USED INSIDE. NOT AN UNCOMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS VEHICLE. RESEARCHING ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS, THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. I WAS DRIVING TO THE STORE, GOING DOWN HILL ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD. MID-WAY DOWN A MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE COMPUTER SAYING "ENGINE FAILURE, POWER OFF" AND THE CAR JUST SHUT DOWN WITH OUT WARNING. NO MATTER HOW HARD I PRESSED ON THE GAS THE CAR WAS SHUT OFF. THE STEERING WENT OUT AS WELL AND I HAD TO STAND IN THE SEAT TO USE ALL MY POWER TO TURN THE WHEEL. PREVIOUS TO THIS, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAD NOT BEEN ON, NO ADVANCE WARNING OF THIS. I HAD BOTH OF MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR AT THE TIME. LUCKILY THERE WAS A BP GAS STATION WITH GARAGE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL, I WAS ABLE TO COAST THE CAR INTO THE GAS STATION WHERE THEY RAN DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND REPAIRED MY CAR AND RESET THE SENSORS. NINE MONTHS LATER I WAS DRIVING WITH BOTH OF MY CHILDREN AGAIN, IN NORTH EAST WASHINGTON DC WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE THE SAME MESSAGE APPEARED. I WAS ABLE TO PULL THE CAR OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND RESTART THE ENGINE ONE TIME. I TURNED AROUND TO GO HOME AND ON THE DRIVE HOME THE SAME THING HAPPENED ON A LESS OF AN INCLINE OF A HILL. THE CAR SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY TOWARDS THE TOP OF THE HILL GOING DOWN. SAME AS BEFORE, NO GAS AND NO STEERING ABILITY. I WAS TOO SCARED TO LEAVE THE CAR ON THE SIDE AS CARS COMING OVER THE HILL WOULD NOT HAVE TIME TO STOP BEFORE HITTING US. I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND TRIED TO GLIDE DOWN THE HILL TO THE SHELL STATION. THE CAR CUT OUT COMPLETELY AND LOST ALL MOMENTUM SO I HAD TO PUSH THE CAR INTO THE GAS STATION AND WAIT 3 HOURS FOR THE TOW TRUCK TO ARRIVE. IT WENT BACK TO THE BP STATION FROM FEBRUARY AND HAD A NEW BATTERY AND SEVERAL OTHER ITEMS REPLACED. I BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW IN 2007 AND HAVE HAD COUNTLESS BREAKDOWNS AND REPLACEMENTS- TWO TRANSMISSIONS WITHIN THE FIRST 3 YEARS AND REPAIRS. DEALERS COULDN'T REPLICATE PROBLEM. PROBLEM BRIEFLY STOPPED, AND NOW IT HAS RETURNED AND IS FAR WORSE. WHILE DRIVING, IT SHAKES AND JERKS LIKE A NEW DRIVER LEARNING TO USE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. SEVERAL TIMES THE TRUCK HAS SHUT OFF COMPLETELY ON HIGHWAYS WHILE CRUISING AT OR AROUND 70MPH OR ACCELERATING TO PASS SOMEONE, NEARLY CAUSING ACCIDENTS. WHEN PULLING OUT FROM A STOP, THE VEHICLE SHIFTS VERY HARD FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR. SOMETIMES THERE IS A LOUD CRUNCHING SOUND AND OCCASIONALLY IT WILL SHUDDER WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE HESITATES ALL THE TIME WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE, AND WILL NOT DOWNSHIFT WHEN GOING UP HILLS. ERRATICALLY CHANGES GEARS EVEN WHILE TRAVELING AT THE SAME RATE OF SPEED, LIKE IT IS NOT SURE WHAT GEAR TO BE IN. THE VEHICLE FIRST STARTED FINE, HOWEVER, COULD NOT SHIFT INTO REVERSE. ONCE STARTING AND TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF THREE TIMES, IT FINALLY SHIFTED INTO REVERSE. PROBLEM WOULD SHOW UP RANDOMLY WHEN DRIVING BUT THEN WOULD STOP IF CAR WAS TURNED OFF AND TURNED BACK ON ALMOST LIKE A RESET. THEN STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WHEN GOING DOWN THE ROAD WHERE RPM'S WOULD GO FROM 1500 TO 3000 AND WOULD JERK CAR DOWN TO 2500 WHEN FOOT WAS TAKEN OFF THE PEDAL. WOULD RANDOMLY GO BACK A FORTH FROM 1500- 3000 DURING CONSISTENT SPEEDS. EVEN WHILE HAVING THESE PROBLEMS IT WAS NEVER AN "EVERY TIME WE DROVE" THING. THEN AFTER A FEW WEEKS OF HAVING THIS PROBLEM A MESSAGE POPS UP SAYING "TRANSMISSION HOT IDLE ENGINE" THAT IS WHEN IT REALLY WORRIED ME. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO PAY $199.95 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST STATING THAT THE CLUTCH WAS BAD AND OTHER INTERNAL FAILURES EXSISTED AND WE NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. TO REBUILD WOULD BE $4900 OR A NEW ONE $6200. WITH ALL THE OTHER COMPLAINTS ON HERE REGARDING TRANSMISSIONS ON THE 07 AND 08 ACADIA'S IT SEEMS SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ON GM'S PART. THIS IS NOT A CHEAP FIX AND IS FRUSTRATING TO SEE ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE DEALING WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS. THANKFULLY WE WEREN'T STRANDED ANYWHERE WITH OUR 2 SMALL CHILDREN. WE WERE HEADING HOME FROM FT. DAVIS AND WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE THE ENGINE WOULD JUST REV AND IT DIDN'T SEEM LIKE THE GEARS WERE SHIFTING. WE EVENTUALLY ENDED UP IN PECOS, TX AT A GMC DEALERSHIP, WHO TOLD ME, AND ONSTAR, THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO BECAUSE THEY WERE ALREADY CLOSING FOR THE DAY. WE GOT THERE BEFORE NOON AND THEY STILL DIDN'T WANT TO RUN TESTS OR ANYTHING, BUT THEY DID SAY I COULD LEAVE MY VEHICLE AND THEY COULD WORK ON IT COME MONDAY. WE HAD PUT TRANSMISSION FLUID IN TO SEE IF THAT WOULD HELP, BUT ONCE WE STARTED THE CAR WE NOTICED THAT THE CAR WOULD NOT REVERSE. NEEDLESS TO SAY MY TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REBUILT...WE WERE ABLE TO GET MY CAR BACK HOME AND TWO REPAIR SHOPS BOTH CONFIRMED THAT. THE REVERSE WENT OUT IN THE ACADIA AND MY HUSBAND HAD TO PUSH IT IN REVERSE SO WE COULD LIMP IT DOWN TO THE DEALERSHIP (DRIVING UNDER 30MP) THEY SAID THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. WE DID PURCHASE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT THAT HAS SINCE EXPIRED SO WE HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. WE KEEP UP ON MAINTAINING THE VEHICLE SO WE WERE SHOCKED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT WHEN I WAS DRIVING, THERE WAS NO WARNING AT ALL! I WAS SCARED THAT MY GIRLS AND I WOULD BE HURT! WE WERE QUOTED BETWEEN $3,500 OR $4,800 FOR EITHER REBUILDING OR REPLACING TRANSMISSION. MANY REVIEWS SAY THAT EVEN THOUGH OTHERS HAVE PAID TO RE-DO THEIR TRANSMISSIONS ON GMC ACADIA THAT IT EVENTUALLY HAPPENS AGAIN. WHILE ON A VACATION TRIP WITH THE FAMILY, MY 2007 GMC ACADIA STARTED TO HESITATE AND BUCK WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. WHEN I ARRIVED AT MY DESTINATION AND PULLED INTO THE PARKING LOT, WHEN THE TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING WITH NO FORWARD OR REVERSE GEARS. I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO A GMC DEALER AND HAVE A BROKEN 3/5/REVERSE (35R) WAVEPLATE REPLACED IN THE TRANSMISSION. THIS SUDDEN UNANNOUNCED LOSS OF POWER TO THE WHEELS, COULD BE A POTENTIAL CATASTROPHIC EVENT FOR THE CAR PASSENGERS AND OTHER VEHICLES, TRUCKS AND BUSES, IF THIS WERE TO HAPPEN ON A HIGHWAY TRAVELING AT 65 MPH, AS THERE MAY BE NO WAY AVOID GETTING IN AN CHAIN REACTION ACCIDENT WITH THE FOLLOWING TRAFFIC MOVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. WE PURCHASED THIS ACADIA USED IN APRIL 2010 WITH ABOUT 40,000 MILES. IN EARLY JULY 2012 THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. THIS HAS BEEN REPAIRED UNDER OUR EXTENDED WARRANTY AS OF JULY 15, 2012. ON AUGUST 1, 2013, OUR TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AGAIN. DURING THE FIRST YEAR OF OWNING THIS VEHICLE, WE HAVE HAD THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS OPERATING ERRATICALLY AND THE RADIO WILL NOT ALWAYS SHUT OFF WHEN THE ENGINE HAS BEEN STOPPED AND DRIVER'S DOOR OPENED & CLOSED (POSSIBLE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS). WE'VE ASKED OUR GMC DEALERSHIP TO ADDRESS THE ELECTRIC, BUT EACH TIME THEY SAY NOTHING SHOWS ANY ERRORS ON THEIR COMPUTER TESTS. WITH THE RECENT ISSUE IN A LITTLE OVER A YEAR ON THE TRANSMISSION (AGAIN!) WE HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS SITES FROM OTHER 2007 ACADIA OWNERS STATING THE SAME PROBLEMS AND THAT IT IS REPETITIVE. IF THIS HAS BEEN A WIDESPREAD AND KNOWN PROBLEM, THIS WAS NOT SHARED BY OUR DEALERSHIP. WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE THERE WAS A NOTICEABLE WHINE IN THE STEERING. I ASKED THE SALESMAN AND HE SAID THAT NOISE WAS TYPICAL WITH ACADIA'S AND THERE WAS NO ISSUE WITH THE CAR. WHEN I TOOK IT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AT A DIFFERENT DEALER RIGHT BEFORE WE LEFT ON VACATION, I WAS TOLD THE POWER STEERING PUMP WAS GOING OUT AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED IMMEDIATELY. DID THAT EVEN THOUGH WE WERE DELAYED GOING ON VACATION AND SUBSEQUENTLY HAD IT REPLACED TWO MORE TIMES AS WELL. ALSO HAVE HAD LEAKS IN THE SUNROOF THAT CONTINUE TO RETURN, AND HAVE NOW MESSED UP MY POWER WINDOW CONTROLS TO THE POINT THAT I CAN NOT CONTROL ANY OF THE OTHER WINDOWS FROM THE DRIVERS SEAT. AS I WAS TAKING A FAMILY TRIP, I WAS TRAVELING THROUGH SOME STEEPER GRADES WHEN THE VEHICLE RPMS WERE REGISTERING VERY HIGH AND WOULD NOT SHIFT TO LOWER GEARS EVEN WHEN MY TRAVEL SPEED SLOWED DOWN. DRIVING HOME FROM THE BEACH WITH MY FRIEND, NO SERVICE LIGHTS WERE ON. WHILE DRIVING ON THE GARDEN STATE PARKWAY MY CAR WAS BECOMING SLUGGISH ON THE PICKUP WHILE CHANGING LANES. A COUPLE EXITS DOWN THE ROAD THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH A MESSAGE - "TRANSMISSION HOT, IDLE ENGINE". I SAFELY PULLED THE CAR OVER 2 EXITS AWAY INTO THE RESTSTOP AND SHUT THE CAR OFF. I WAITED APPROXIMATELY 20-25 MINUTES AND RESTARTED THE CAR, ALL SERVICE LIGHTS WERE NOW GONE. ME AND MY FRIEND DECIDED TO NOW CAUTIOUSLY DRIVE THE CAR HOME SINCE ALL THE SERVICE WARNINGS HAD GONE AWAY. AS WE BEGAN TO PULL OUT OF THE RESTSTOP THE VEHICLE COULD NOT ACCELERATE I THEN WAS STUCK ON THE SIDE OF THE EXPRESS LANE ON THE PARKWAY. SINCE THIS INCIDENT I HAD THE VEHICLE CHECKED AND IT TURNS OUT MY ENTIRE TRANSMISSION IS BROKEN, NOT ONE SALVAGEABLE PART TO REBUILD MY OWN TRANSMISSION. DRIVING UP HILL, LOOSING POWER, FINALLY MADE IT UP HILL CAR JUST STOPPED - ALMOST LIKE IT WAS IN NEUTRAL GEAR. COULDN'T GO ANYWHERE, CAR STARTED RIGHT UP AND WHEN I PRESSED ON GAS IT REVVED UP LIKE IT WANTED TO GO, BUT NO MOVEMENT. STILL LIKE IN NEUTRAL GEAR. FOUND OUT THAT LOTS OF 07 AND 08 ACADIA OWNERS HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE WAVE PLATE (WHICH IS WHAT MECHANIC AT DEALERSHIP TOLD ME IT IS). AND THE POWER TRAIN, WHICH ENDS UP MAKING THE TRANSMISSION FAIL. THERE ARE FAR TOO MANY ACADIAS OWNERS OUT THERE WHO HAVE HAD THESE ISSUES. I THINK IT'S WRONG THAT GMC DOESN'T INVESTIGATE OR RECALL THE CARS FOR THIS COST. I CALLED GMC CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FEEL AS IF THEY DON'T TRULY CARE, THEY JUST WANT TO SNUB OFF THE ISSUE AND TELL YOU TO HAVE A GREAT DAY! MY DAD WORKED FOR GMC FOR 20 YEARS, AND I ALWAYS HAD A HIGH OPINION OF THEM UP UNTIL NOW. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THEM. I FEEL LIKE THEY HAVE LOST THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS. THIS ISSUE STARTED WHEN I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 35MPG. THE ACADIA TRIED TO SHIFT INTO A HIGHER GEAR BUT CLUNKED VERY LOUDLY AND JOLTED THE WHOLE CAR. FROM THAT POINT FORWARD THE VEHICLE WAS STICK IN 3RD GEAR. IT WOULDN'T UP SHIFT OR DOWN SHIFT. THE CAR LIMPED HOME BUT STARTING ON HILLS OR AT STOP SIGNS WAS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE. ONCE I GOT THE CAR HOME I CHECKED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. TRANSMISSION FLUID OK. I THEN TESTED THE CAR AGAIN BY TRYING TO BACK OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY. THE TRANSMISSION MADE A LOUD GRINDING NOISE AND WOULD NOW LONGER MOVE IN REVERSE. I HAD THE CAR TOWED FROM MY HOUSE TO A LOCAL TRUSTED MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE WAVEPLATE FAILED. HE ALSO SAID THAT THIS WAS A KNOW DEFICIENCY IN THESE VEHICLES AND THAT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED OR REBUILT. I HAD TO SPEND $3950 TO REBUILD THE TRANSMISSION ON A 2007 VEHICLE WITH 80000 MILES. I WOULD APPRECIATE A REIMBURSEMENT FROM GM FOR THIS OBVIOUS QUALITY PROBLEM. *TR

WHILE AN HOUR FROM HOME, I WAS DRIVING THROUGH A TOWN AND SUDDENLY COULD GET NO "PICKUP" TO START AFTER STOPPING AT A STOPLIGHT. NO SPEED ENTERING THE FREEWAY AND THEN REVERSE SHOT THE CAR FORWARD INTO A FRONT YARD AND ALMOST INTO A HOUSE. PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE LIGHTLY TAPPED THE PEDAL, AND INSTEAD IT SPED FORWARD AS THOUGH THE GAS PEDAL WAS PINNED TO THE FLOOR. WE WENT DEEP INTO THE FRONT YARD OF HOUSE STOPPING JUST SHORT OF THE HOUSE. AAA CAME AND TOWED THE CAR TO THE CLOSEST GM DEALER. AAA DRIVER TESTED REVERSE AND IT WOULD ONLY GO FORWARD. HE SAID HE HAD NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT. SO GRATEFUL THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN MINUTES BEFORE IN THE PRESCHOOL PARKING LOT WHICH IS A U SHAPE WHERE THE PARENTS LINE UP AND THE TEACHERS BRING THE KIDS OUT. THE EXPERIENCE WAS TERRIFYING. WE PARKED NEXT TO AN ACADIA YESTERDAY AND MY 4 YEAR OLD SAID "MOMMY WE SHOULD TELL THEM THEY HAVE A BAD CAR." CALLED GM IMMEDIATELY AND EVERY DAY SINCE (2 WEEKS) - NO RESPONSE, I AM JUST SHUFFLED BETWEEN REPRESENTATIVES. MY CAR IS STILL SITTING IN THE DEALER'S LOT. TEN DAYS LATER, MY 2007 GMC ACADIA FWD IS WORSE THAN EVER, ENDANGERING ME AT NIGHT BY SHIFTING SUDDENLY INTO "STABILITRAK ERROR, LOW FUEL INPUT" MODE. THE VEHICLE STARTED HAVING ISSUES WHILE TRYING TO MERGE ONTO THE HIGHWAY OR DEPRESSING THE GAS PEDAL FOR A PASSING AND/OR MERGING PURPOSES, THIS WOULD SOMEHOW REVERT INTO A NEUTRAL POSITION, HAVING THE RPMS REV UP AND NO FORWARD MOTION , UNTIL IT'S SORT OF CAUGHT UP ITSELF BY BACKING OFF ON THE ACCELERATOR. THE OTHER ISSUE INVOLVED PUTTING THE AUTOMOBILE INTO REVERSE ,NOT ONLY AT TIMES IT WOULDN'T GO INTO REVERSE BUT INSTEAD WOULD REVERT TO A NEUTRAL POSITION, UNTIL YOU STARTED ALL OVER AGAIN WITH THE PROCESS OF PUTTING IT BACK INTO PARK AND THEN BACK INTO REVERSE. MY TRUCK STARTED MAKING WHINING NOISE AND I IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO FIND OUT THAT THE CAMSHAFT HAD WENT BAD AND SPIT METAL IN MY MOTOR CAUSING ME TO HAVE THE ENGINE REPLACED. BECAUSE I WAS THE SECOND OWNER OF THE VEHICLE GM DIDN'T WANT TO PAY FOR THE TOTAL BILL UNDER THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY AND THE FACT THAT I WAS 3000 MILES OVER THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY ITSELF. MY TRANSMISSION HAS TO BE REPLACED AT 131,000 MILES AND A COST OF OVER $3400.00 OUT OF MY POCKET. WELL HERE I AM AGAIN... THIS IS THE THIRD MAJOR THING THAT HAS HAPPENED TO MY 2007 ACADIA.. I HAD TO HAVE ALL NEW TIMING CHAINS PUT ON 103,000 MILES, HAD TO HAVE MY SERVICE TIRE SENSOR FIXED AT 112,000 MILES, I HAVE DONE ALL THE RE-CALLS FOR THE SUN-ROOF LEAK, THE HEATED WINDSHIELD FLUID, AND WHATEVER ELSE HS BEEN RE-CALLED ON THIS VEHICLE!!! MY 17 YEAR OLD SON WAS DRIVING MY CAR IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY WHEN THE CAR JUST STOPPED AND THEN HE COULD ONLY GET IT TO GO 30 MPH. HE IS LUCKY HE WAS NOT REAR ENDED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, IT WILL NOT GO OVER 30 MPH AND REVERSE. I SPOKE WITH THE HEAD MECHANIC AT THE GM GARAGE THAT IS PUTTING A NEW TRANSMISSION IN MY ACADIA AT THE COST OF 3400.00 TO ME, AND HE TOLD ME THAT ALL THE 2007-2010 ACADIA'S HAVE A PART IN THE TRANSMISSION THAT COST GM $1.69 INSTEAD OF USING THE PART THEY SHOULD HAVE USED THAT WOULD HAVE COST THEM $39.00. HE SAID GM KNOW THEY SHOULD HAVE RECALLED ALL THE 2070-2010 ACADIA'S BUT CHOSE NOT TOO BECAUSE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN MILLIONS OF VEHICLES INVOLVED, SO INSTEAD "THANK YOU GM" FOR SCREWING ALL OF US AND NOW WE HAVE TO PAY FOR YOUR MISTAKE AND CUT BACKS.... *TR

WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE STARTED SKIPPING/CATCHING WHILE ACCELERATING AND THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE STARTED TO CREEP UP. I ENTERED A LEFT TURN LANE IN ORDER TO PULL OVER. WHEN TRAFFIC CLEARED I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE TO MAKE IT INTO THE PARKING LOT. WARNING BELLS STARTED GOING OFF "SHUT OFF ENGINE" "SHUT OFF A/C" "ENGING OVERHEAT" AND THE TRUCK SHUT OFF. I HAD PICKED UP ENOUGH MOMENTUM AS I HAD BEGUN MY TURN BUT IT WAS STILL LITERALLY A COAST INTO THE PARKING LOT, NARROWLY AVOIDING A T-BONE SITUATION WITH AN ONCOMING MINI VAN. IT WAS SO CLOSE THE MINI-VAN LAID ON THE HORN AND SLAMMED ON HER BRAKES. I COASTED INTO THE PARKING LOT BUT WAS UNABLE TO MAKE IT INTO A SPOT. I TOOK OUT MY KEYS AND OPENED MY DOOR TO GET OUT. THE ALARMS CONTINUED EVEN WITHOUT KEYS IN IT. THERE WAS ANTIFREEZE POURING OUT FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. I HAD TO TURN ON AND OFF THE CAR NO LESS THAN THREE TIMES TO STOP THE WARNING BELLS. I CALLED A LOCAL SHOP AND HAD IT TOWED. THEY REPLACED THE WATER PUMP AND A/C BELT. GOT MY VEHICLE BACK TWO DAYS LATER. DROVE TO WORK IN THE MORNING WITH NO ISSUES, HOWEVER COMING HOME IT STARTED TO CATCH/SKIP AGAIN. (I LIVE ONLY 5 MILES AWAY FROM WORK). I HAD MY HUSBAND DRIVE IT BACK UP TO THE SHOP TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. WHEN HE GOT INTO IT HE WAS UNABLE TO REVERSE IT; REVERSE JUST SIMPLY STOPPED WORKING. HE HAD TO TURN AROUND IN OUR YARD - ON THE WAY TO THE SHOP (6 MILES AWAY) THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO OVER 30 MPH AND AGAIN SHUT OFF ON HIM WHILE TRYING TO TURN INTO THE AUTO SHOP. THE DIAGNOSIS NOW IS THAT IT NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION. UPON FURTHER ONLINE RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THOUSANDS OF OTHER OWNERS OF THE SAME MODEL/MAKE AND YEAR WITH THE EXACT SAME ISSUES OCCURRING ROUGHLY AROUND THE SAME MILEAGE/TIME FRAME. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE. THE WASHER FLUID LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON, NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I HAVE TAKEN IT FOR REPAIR THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT 8 MONTHS AFTER THE VEHICLE THREE MONTHS LATER AT THIS PRESENT TIME. I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2007 GMC ACADIA IN NOV. OF 2007. SINCE NEW IT HAS HAD A STEERING ISSUE THAT CAN NOT BE FIXED. THE RACK AND PINION HAS BEEN REPLACED AND THE VEHICLE HAS BURNED UP NUMEROUS POWERSTEERING PUMPS. THE STEERING, WHILE IN A CURVE, WILL LOCK UP AND THEN RELEASE THROWING THE VEHICLE IN THE DIRECTION THE WHEEL IS TURNED. IT HAS THROWN THE VEHICLE INTO THE OTHER LANE OF ON COMING TRAFFIC AS WELL AS THROWING THE VEHICLE OF THE ROAD INTO A FENCE. EACH TIME THE DEALERSHIP HAS PICKED THE VEHICLE UP REPLACED THE STEERING PUMPS BUT THE PROBLEM STILL REMAINS. THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 47,000 MILES ON IT. THE TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP AND THE SHIFTING COMPONENTS WERE REPLACED, THEN THE TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP AND WAS REPLACED. THE STEERING ISSUE IS ARE MAIN CONCERN. IT WAS TAKEN IN ON 9/28/10 AND RECEIVED NEW TRANSMISSION AND POWERSTEERING PUMP. WE RECEIVED THE VEHICLE ON 10/25/2010. ON, 10/28/10 THE VEHICLE STEERING LOCKED UP AGAIN THROWING MY WIFE OFF THE ROAD INTO A FENCE. THERE IS NO WAY THAT GM HAS PUT THREE BAD POWER STEERING PUMPS ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS A MORE SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT IS BINDING THE STEERING CAUSING THE PUMPS TO BURN UP. THE SAME PROBLEM HAS MADE THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE DUE TO THE DANGER OF IT LOCKING UP AND THROWING THE VEHICLE INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC. I HAVE ALL SERVICE RECORDS REPORTING THIS ISSUE. I WILL NOT ALLOW MY BACK IN THIS VEHICLE AND I AM NOT COMFORTABLE TRADING IT IN FOR ANOTHER FAMILY TO BE KILLED IN IT. I COULD NOT LIVE WITH THAT. DRIVING MY 2007 GMC ACADIA. WENT TO PASS A SLOWER VEHICLE, PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR TO PASS AND THE TRANSMISSION WENT HAYWIRE AND THE ACCELERATOR STUCK. I HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL TO GET IT STOPPED. THE RPMS WERE IN THE 4000S. THEN THE ACCELERATION WOULD STOP AND START AGAIN OVER TO 4000. LUCKILY WHEN I PASSED THE VEHICLE THERE WERE NO CARS IN FRONT OF ME OR I WOULD HAVE HAD A MAJOR ACCIDENT WITH THE ACCELERATION OUT OF CONTROL. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT TWO OF THE TIMING CHAINS WERE VERY WORN AND THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE CLUTCH PRESSURE CONTROL WITH HARSH SHIFTS IN DRIVE RANGE 3RD AND/OR 5TH GEAR. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THIS ISSUE. MY 2007 ACADIA WOULD DRIVE ABOVE 50KM IT FINALLY BROKE DOWN AND WOULDN'T MOVE. WE HAD TO GET A FLATBED TRUCK TO TAKE THE CAR IN TO GM AND FOUND OUT IT WAS THE SWAY BAR THAT WAS BROKE AS WELL AS THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR AND JUST A MONTH BEFORE THIS WE HAD ISSUES WITH THE STEERING WHEEL THAT HAD TO BE FIXED. THERE HAS BEEN SO MANY THINGS WRONG WITH CAR ITS UNBELIEVABLE I WENT TO TRADE IT IN AND FINDING OUT THAT WE PAID 45,000 FOR IT BRAND NEW NOW ITS ONLY $20,000 AT THE MAX WE CAN GET FOR OUR AWD ACADIA WITH MOST OF THE BELLS AND WHISTLES. DRIVING MY 2007 GMC ACADIA. CAME UPON A BUSY STATE HIGHWAY. AFTER COMING TO A STOP, I SAW AN OPENING AND PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR TO CROSS THE 4 LANE ROAD. WHEN I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR, THE CAR JUST STARTED TO CREEP OUT INTO TRAFFIC. THE ENGINE RPM'S INCREASED, BUT THE CAR WAS MOVING AT WALKING SPEED. IT WAS OBVIOUS THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD NOT SHIFTED BACK INTO 1ST GEAR. I TRIED TO MANUALLY SHIFT INTO LOW, BUT IT DID NOT RESPOND. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO GET IT GOING FAST ENOUGH TO HAVE IT PICK UP SOME SPEED TO GET ACROSS THE LANES OF TRAFFIC. ON THE WAY HOME, EVERY TIME I CAME TO A STOP, THE CAR ACTED THE SAME WAY UPON ACCELERATION. THE ONLY WAY I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO GO BACK INTO 1ST GEAR WAS TO SHUT THE CAR OFF AND RESTART IT. EVEN DOING THAT, IT ONLY LASTED UNTIL THE NEXT TIME I STOPPED. AFTER LETTING THE CAR SIT OVER NIGHT, IT PERFORMED FINE THE NEXT DAY. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THIS ISSUE. THE FIRST TIME THE GMC DEALER 'FLASHED' (REPROGRAMMED) THE TRANSMISSION, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS NOT ACTING UP WHEN THE CAR WAS TAKEN INTO THE SHOP. I SPOKE WITH A CAR DEALER AT THE SHOP, AND HE OWNED THE SAME VEHICLE. HIS TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN 'REFLASHED' 6 OR 7 TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE. IF THIS ISSUE IS NOT ADDRESSED "PROPERLY", I BELIEVE SOMEONE SOMEWHERE WILL BE INJURED OR KILLED. THE CONDITION MY VEHICLE EXHIBITED LEAVES ME WITH A VERY UNEASY FEELING (I.E. SHE STATES THAT THE VEHICLE HAS HAD THESE PROBLEMS: A LARGE PUDDLE OF OIL UNDER THE VEHICLE, WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING, BATTERY DIED AND SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING. *KB THE DEALER TOLD THE CONSUMER THE FRONT SHAFT SEAL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED TO CORRECT THE LEAK FROM THE TRANSMISSION. THEY ALSO STATED THERE WAS A DRAIN ON THE SYSTEM THAT CAUSED THE BATTERY TO FAIL. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY UPGRADED THE TRANSMISSION, WHICH HAD TO BE DONE TWICE. THE POWER STEERING MADE A LOUD NOISE, THE CONSUMER STATED IT SOUNDED AS IF THE PUMP WAS ABOUT SEIZE AND THEN THE STEERING BECOMES HARD. SHE STATES THAT THE VEHICLE HAS HAD THESE PROBLEMS: A LARGE PUDDLE OF OIL UNDER THE VEHICLE, WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING, BATTERY DIED AND SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING. *KB THE DEALER TOLD THE CONSUMER THE FRONT SHAFT SEAL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED TO CORRECT THE LEAK FROM THE TRANSMISSION. THEY ALSO STATED THERE WAS A DRAIN ON THE SYSTEM THAT CAUSED THE BATTERY TO FAIL. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY UPGRADED THE TRANSMISSION, WHICH HAD TO BE DONE TWICE. THE POWER STEERING MADE A LOUD NOISE, THE CONSUMER STATED IT SOUNDED AS IF THE PUMP WAS ABOUT SEIZE AND THEN THE STEERING BECOMES HARD. SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THIS NEW 2007 GMC ACADIA. MOST PREVALENT IS THE FAILURE OF THE GAS GAUGE NOT READING THE GAS READING CORRECTLY. 1ST TIME NOTICED AND TAKEN FOR SERVICE WAS 3 MO. OLD. THE GAS GAUGE READS (E) WHEN I'VE JUST FILLED UP THE TANK. DEALER REPLACED 02 SENSORS. 1 MO LATER EXPERIENCE SAME ISSUE. GAS GAUGE READS (E) EVEN WHEN TANK IS FULL. TAKEN BACK TO DEALER AND THIS TIME REPLACE (2) O2 SENSORS AND THE "SENDING UNIT". 2 DAYS LATER, WITH THE GAS GAUGE READING AT HALF FULL, THE CAR LUNGES FORWARD INTO ANOTHER GEAR ON FREEWAY IN TRAFFIC, AND STALLS. CANNOT TURN CAR ON - ALL WARNING LIGHTS ON. TOWED TO DEALER. NOW STATES THAT I NEED A WHOLE NEW GAS TANK BECAUSE THE "BAFFLE" IS BROKEN? STILL AT THE DEALER AND IS UNRESOLVED. THIS CAR IS UNSAFE. PREVIOUS ISSUES: CAR LEAKS AT THE SUNROOF. NOT FIXED YET LUMBAR SUPPORT BROKEN - SOMEWHAT FIXED BUT STILL NOT LIKE THE NEW ONES ON THE LOT. NOTICED A SUDDEN SHAKING IN THE CAR WHEN DRIVING MORE THAN 25MPH. FELT THE CAR WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE, SO LEFT IT AT A LOCAL TIRE AND AUTO SHOP FOR INSPECTION THE NEXT MORNING. THE TECHNICIAN CALLED TO INFORM US THAT THERE SHOULD BE 6 BOLTS THAT ATTACH THE DRIVESHAFT TO THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL. THE CAR ONLY HAD 3 OF THE 6 BOLTS LEFT AND OF THOSE 1 WAS BENT. THEY WERE ALSO ALL LOOSE. HE SUSPECTED THAT THEY WERE NOT TIGHTENED CORRECTLY AT THE FACTORY. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION AND REPAIR. I LEASED A 2007 ACADIA ON 5-24-07 AND SHORTLY AFTER TAKING DELIVERY I FELT THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND THE WAY IT SHIFTED, I NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND TOOK IT IN FOR REPAIR. THEY TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T GET THE PROBLEM TO REPEAT AND FELT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. ON 6-14-07 I TOOK A TRIP TO FLORIDA FROM MICHIGAN AND GOT 11 MILES INTO GEORGIA AND THE TRANSMISSION DECIDED TO SHIFT INTO 1ST GEAR GOING 70 MPH. I MANAGED TO GET OFF THE ROAD AND WAS WONDERING WHAT WENT WRONG. I PUSHED THE ONSTAR BUTTON AND THEY GOT ME TO A DEALERSHIP (NEWTON GMC IN TENNESSEE), THEY DONE A QUICK COMPUTER CHECK FOR ERROR CODES AND FOUND MANY CODES THAT THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THEY WERE BUT THEY SAID IT WAS RELATED TO THE TRANSMISSION. I LEFT THE ACADIA WITH THEM AND FINISHED MY TRIP TO FLORIDA IN A FORD PICKUP. AFTER 2 WEEKS THE DEALERSHIP GOT THE OK FROM GM TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. I AM STILL HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE NEW TRANSMISSION SHIFTING CORRECTLY. AS OF 9-17-07 THERE IS A NEW SOFTWARE UPDATE THE DEALERSHIPS WILL HAVE TO CORRECT THE SHIFTING PROBLEMS FOR 2007 MODELS, THE 2008 MODELS ALREADY HAVE THE NEW SOFTWARE IN THEM WHEN THEY LEAVE THE ASSEMBLY PLANT. I HAVE HAD MY TRANSMISSION WORKED ON ALREADY ON MY 2007 GMC ACADIA THE SPEED CONTROL IN THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPLACED BUT I STILL HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF THE CAR. IT IS AN ALL WHEEL DRIVE WITH AN AUTOMATIC. IT WILL NOT HOLD ON A HILL AND SEARCHES FOR A GEAR OR CHANCES SEVERAL TIMES WHEN IT COMES TO ANY KIND OF INCLINE EVEN AT 70 MPH.I WAS GETTING 15 MILES TO THE GALLON BEFORE THE NEW SPEED CONTROL NOW I GET 13. I HAVE SPOKEN TO MY DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND HE SAYS TO WAIT AND SOON THERE SHOULD BE A UPDATE IN THE SOFTWARE TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM I AM WILLING TO WAIT BUT WANT IT ON RECORD THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAS PROBLEMS. THIS IS A NEW DESIGN AND IS VERY ROUGH RIDING. MY CAR HAS ONLY 5000 MILES ON IT AND I HAVE BEEN THERE 4 TIMES.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC ACADIA. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH THE VEHICLE WOULD VIBRATE. THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD BANG NOTICED PARTS FLY PAST THE WINDOW. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT ALL SIX PROPELLER SHAFT BOLTS BECAME LOOSE AND THE DRIVE SHAFT FELL OFF. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 5,400.

ON JULY 5TH 2007 MY FAMILY AND I WERE TRAVELING IN OUR RECENTLY PURCHASED 2007 GMC ACADIA WHILE ON VACATION IN FENWICK, DE. AND AS WE WERE TRAVELING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION OUR VEHICLE EXPERIENCE A MASSIVE FAILURE. THE FRONT PORTION OF THE DRIVE SHAFT, THE PORTION THAT EXTENDS FROM THE TRANSAXLE TO THE REAR AXLE, DROP FROM THE VEHICLE, AT SPEED, AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO LOOSE POWER WHILE AT SPEED IN TRAFFIC. REALIZING THE LOSS OF POWER, WE PULLED THE VEHICLE SAFELY TO THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. UPON LOOKING UNDER THE VEHICLE, I OBSERVED THE DRIVE SHAFT HANGING, IN THE FORWARD POSITION, TO THE ROADWAY. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED "ON-STAR" WHO I FOUND TO BE EXTREMELY NON-RESPONSIVE OR HELPFUL TO OUR SITUATION. THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE TOW TRUCK FINALLY RESPONDED TO OUR CALL AND UPON OUR DIRECTION TOOK THE VEHICLE TO HERTRICK GMC FOR REPAIR. LATER THAT WEEK I WS INFORMED THAT THE "SAFETY RING" HAD FAILED AND THE REPLACEMENT PRT WAS ON INDEFINITE BACK ORDER. *TR
