The traction control turns on and then the shifts don’t work and I can’t drive since there is no speed also the rpm and the gas the speed and the battery gages start flickering up and down then I turn off the truck and it continues to work fine but after 40 miles or so it does it all again
UNKNOWN 2008 GMC ACADIA back lift starts to open and then shuts right back down. try to raise it manually and it falls right back down. It can really hurt someone. would like to know what causes it to do that and if there is a recall.
Airbag light on 24/7, ABS malfunction traction control system turns off randomly, wiper blade fluid not spraying (front, rear) engine misfire on idle, clear/white smoke from hood and burning smell.
Liftgate Malfunction: When rear liftgate is manually opened on vehicle, it continues to make a noise after it is completely opened. This noise sounds as though the liftgate is still in the process of opening. There is also an issue when closing the liftgate. Although it is properly closed, it will show a warning sign moments later in the car saying it is opened. When the car is put back in park to check, the liftgate is closed, but the latch has released. So the liftgate is able to be opened without pressing the button to open it. Sometimes it can take a few times of closing the liftgate for it to stay latched and properly closed. The automatic opening function of the liftgate does not work as well.
Well my back trunk doesnt worrk well i open it but it closes half way it almost closed on me and its done that more then 3 times and im not sure why its scary cause my child almost got hit with it not opening right.
Vehicle has a sunroof drainage issue. Water leaks in through the corners of the sunroof and spills into the dashboard and under the carpeting. The vehicle has suffered electrical damage, corrosion, and mold because of the sunroof drainage issue. I have seen forums with hundreds of other owners who have suffered the same exact sunroof drainage problem with their 2007-2008 GMC Acadias. GMC says my vehicle is not listed in the recall, but I find that laughable. There are way too many Acadia owners that have this exact issue for it not to be a problem with all Acadias.
SunROOF IS CLOGGED RAIN HAS GOTTEN INSIDE VEHICLE SOAKED UP THE FLOORS THE INTERIOR UP BY THE SUNROOF. GMC MADE RHIS MIDEL HORRIBLY AND THEY DON'T HAVE ENOUGH PEOPLE FILING OR JUST DON'T CARE. IT MESSES UP THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THEY NEED RO RECALL THE SUNROOF. RECALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ALONG WITH IT. SUNROOF IS CLOGGED
The service stability track warning will come on while driving. It will then make the SUV shut off. This is really terrifying since it happens while driving. After the SUV shuts off, you have to wait a couple minutes before you're able to restart. The last two months, the service airbag warning will come up on the screen out of no where. It will come on while driving and setting stationary. Water will pour out from the glove box while driving.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH MY "SERVICE AIR BAG" LIGHT COMING ON WHENEVER THE PASSENGER SIDE SEATBELT IS PULLED TO HARD OR EVEN IF I HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD. THIS ALSO OCCURS WHEN THE PASSENGER MAKES THE SLIGHTEST OF MOVEMENT IN THE SEAT. IT OCCURS BOTH WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND WHILE GOING DOWN THE ROAD. IT IS STARTING TO HAPPEN MORE AND MORE AS TIME GOES ON. IT HAPPENED TODAY JUST GOING TO THE TOP OF MY DRIVEWAY WHICH IS LESS THAN A MILE LONG AND BACK TO THE HOUSE. ALSO, I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH MY TAILGATE RANDOMLY FALLING WHEN HALFWAY OPEN OR FULLY OPEN. THE TAILGATE HAS ALMOST CAUSED INJURY TO MY HUSBAND, BOTH OF MY BOYS AND MYSELF. THE VEHICLE IS ALWAYS STATIONARY WHEN THIS ISSUE OCCURS AND DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY TIME THE TAILGATE IS OPENED.

I LOVE THE ACADIA BUT THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL. IT DEFINITELY IS A SAFETY HAZARD. IT LEFT ME STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. LUCKILY I HAD A PLACE TO PULL OVER. WAS TOLD THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS AN OUTRAGEOUS COST FOR SOMETHING THAT GMC KNOWS ABOUT.

THE RADIO RANDOMLY STOPPED WORKING A FEW WEEKS AGO AND THE SIGNAL LIGHT YOU CAN'T HEAR. NO BEEPS AT ALL ARE BEING HEARD SINCE THE RADIO STOPPED WORKING. IT TURNS ON BUT YOU CAN'T HEAR ANYTHING. YOU ALSO CAN'T HEAR ANY OF THE SENSORS IF THEY LIGHT UP ON THE DASH.
TRANSMISSION FAILED, TRANSMISSION SLIPPED OUT OF GEAR, TRANSMISSION STUCK IN FIRST GEAR, GM APPROVED A 2013 SAFETY RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED IN 2017, THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPAIRED AND THE ENTIRE ENGINE HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE. THE TRANSMISSION IS FAILING AGAIN BECAUSE IT IS A PRODUCT DEFECT THAT IS DANGEROUS. GM HAS REFUSED TO REPAIR OR REPLACE THE VEHICLE AND THE AUTONATION HAS REFUSED TO REPAIR OR REPLACE THE VEHICLE. GM AND AUTONATION HAVE SOLD A DANGEROUS USED CAR WITH A FRAUDULENT INTENT. GM AND AUTONATION HAVE RATIFIED THE INTENTIONAL FRAUD. THE CAR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED IMMEDIATELY BECAUSE IT IS STILL DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AND THE TRANSMISSION IS CURRENTLY FAILING AGAIN.

WATER LEAKS INSIDE THE CAR WHEN IT RAINS MOSTLY ON THE FRONT AREA COMING FROM THE ROOF AN THE SIDE DOORS.
TAKATA RECALL- I PURCHASED A 2008 GMC AWD ACADIA ABOUT A YEAR AGO. WHILE TEST DRIVING THE VEHICLE I NOTICED A WHINY SOUND THAT I INFORMED THE DEALER ABOUT UPON RETURN. THE DEALER CHECKED IT OUT AND TOLD ME IT JUST NEED POWER STEERING FLUID. SO HE FILLED THE FLUIDS AND I HEARD NOTHING FOR A MONTH OR SO. I TOOK THE TRUCK BACK FOR MISC. REPAIRS TWO OTHER TIMES AFTER THAT REGARDING SOUNDS THAT I WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. AFTER THAT THINGS SEEMED FINE FOR A FEW MONTHS OR SO. EARLY SEPTEMBER, THE TRUCK SLOWED DOWN ON THE HIGHWAY. THE DASH WAS READING 60MPH BUT I WAS REALLY GOING 30MPH. THEN WHILE EXITING TO TURN OFF THE HIGHWAY THE POWER STEERING BEGAN ACTING UP AND WAS EXTREMELY HARD TO TURN. I ALMOST RAN INTO THE WALL NOT PREPARED TO USE SUCH FORCE. AUGUST 29TH I WENT TO JIFFY LUBE AND HAD THE FLUIDS TOPPED OFF AND POWER STEERING FLUID WAS FULL. I PUT THE TRUCK IN THE SHOP FOR A FULL DIAGNOSTIC AFTER THE BATTERY WENT COMPLETELY DEAD AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START IN OCTOBER. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE POWER STEERING RACK NEEDING REPLACING AND THE FAULTY SUN ROOF HAD FLOODED THE ENTIRE VEHICLE WITH 1 1/2 INCHES OF WATER. THE BATTERY DIED BECAUSE THE PORT WAS FILLED WITH WATER. FROM THE BEGINNING OF SEPTEMBER, WHEN THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT, THE VEHICLE HAS ONLY BEEN DRIVEN VERY SHORT DISTANCES (TO THE GAS STATION ON THE CORNER, LESS THAN A MILE). I CALLED A GM DEALER TO CHECK FOR RECALLS AND THERE ARE NONE WHICH IS SAD AND A TOTAL RIP OFF.

JUST RECENTLY MY SON PULLED THE DEVICE INSIDE THE DOOR AND ALL OF F THEM WERE FULL OF WATER. IT'S LIKE ALL MY SEALS ARE LEAKING ON MY VEHICLE. FROM THE FRONT TO THE BACK. LESS THAN 3 MONTHS LATER, TIGHTEN GAS CAP LIGHT ON DASH, CHECK TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT ON AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. FOUND OUT ONLINE THAT THIS MODEL AND MAKE AND YEAR HAD NUMEROUS ISSUES WITH TRANSMISSION, DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THERE WAS NO RECALL AND HOW GM GOT AWAY WITH IT. OH, AND WE WERE UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY IN THE BEGINNING WHERE THEY SAID NOTHING WRONG, AND AS SOON AS WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED, BOOM! TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE FIXED! TRANSMISSION DEALER SAID THE DAMAGE WAS FROM A CHEAP 15.00 PART THAT CAUSED US TO HAVE TO SPEND 5 GRAND WHILE ON VACATION. WE HAVE ALL SHOP PAPERWORK SHOWING THE PAPER TRAIL WHAT WE TRIED TO GET FIXED.

DURING TIMES OF HEAVY RAIN OR WHEN DRIVING THROUGH A CAR WASH, WATER ENTERS VEHICLE INTERIOR. WATER CAN BE HEARD MOVING AROUND IN HEADLINER OF REAR WHILE VEHICLE BEING DRIVEN. WITH VEHICLE IN MOTION WATER CAN BE SEEN LEAKING OUT OF AIR BAG LABEL ON DRIVER SIDE PANEL BETWEEN WINDSHIELD AND DOOR. INSPECTED DRAIN TUBES FROM SUNROOF AND FOUND THEM TO BE COMPLETELY CLOGGED. UPON CLEARING DEBRIS CLOGGING THE TUBES AN EXESSIVE AMOUNT OF WATER CAME SHOOTING OUT AND TUBES DRAINED FOR ABOUT AN HOUR A NON STOP STREAM. APPROXIMATELY A WEEK OR SO LATER, STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS STARTING VEHICLE. TESTED BATTERY AND IT WAS FINE. TESTED ALTERNATOR AND STARTER, BOTH FINE. TWO WEEKS LATER CAR WOULDN'T START AGAIN. UPON AAA ARRIVING TO JUMP MY VEHICLE WE DISCOVERED THE ENTIRE BATTERY COMPARTMENT BEHIND PASSENGER SEAT WAS COMPLETELY FILLED AND BATTERY SUBMERGED IN WATER. FURTHER INSPECTION FOUND ENTIRE FLOOR BOARD SATURATED AND HEADLINER. MOLD WAS ALSO FOUND ON SEATS, SEAT BELTS, CARPET, AIR VENTS, SUN VISORS, AND DOOR PANELS.
THE ENGINE STUTTERS AND JOLTS, TRACTION CONTROL KEEPS KICKING ON AND CAR IS STALLING RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD.

THE FOLLOWING MORNING NO RAIN BUT THE CAR WOULDN'T START AND THE KEY GOT STUCK IN THE IGNITION. I FIND THIS TO BE COSTLY WHEN THE BATTERY NOT EVEN A YEAR OLD. JUST NEED TO HAVE THIS ISSUE RESOLVE BECAUSE PUTTING MY CAR IN A GARAGE ON RAINY DAYS IS NOT AN OPTION FOR ME.

I ASKED IF THIS WOULD LEAD TO TRANSMISSION FAILURE; THEY TOLD ME NO, CAR WOULD BE GOOD TO GO.THE PERSON WHO HELPED ME NO LONGER WORKS AT THE EL PASO DEALERSHIP WHEN I REPORTED HE TRIED TO OVERCHARGE ME. DRIVING ON HWY IN EL PASO WITH KIDS. 3) TRANSMISSION - PAID $4000+ FOR TRANSMISSION (GMC CLAIMS NOT RELATED TO THE PREVIOUS REPAIR); DISCUSSED WITH SERVICE DEPT IF WE SHOULD SPEND MORE MONEY ON THE CAR...THEY TOLD ME THE NEW TRANSMISSION WOULD WORK. (MILEAGE WAS 125K) THE TRANSMISSION FAILED WHILE MOVING FROM EL PASO TO COLORADO SPRINGS...NO SAFE PLACE TO STOP. 4) 2 MOS LATER (NOW) - CLAIM THE TIMING BELT FAILED AND RH TIE RODS NEED REPAIR AND THEY SAY I DECLINED A REPAIR. I NEVER DISCUSSED THIS NEEDED REPAIR AND THE POSSIBILITY OF A $2600 REPAIR FOLLOWING THIS $4000 REPAIR...SO IF THEY MENTIONED IT, THEY NEVER SAID YOU HAVE $6600 WORTH OF WORK IN FRONT OF YOU. I ALREADY WAS CONCERNED ABOUT PAYING $4000 AFTER PAYING $2000. IT HAPPENED ON HIGHWAY. GMC IS MORE THAN AWARE OF THESE ISSUES WITH THEIR CARS AND THEY ARE LEAVING THEIR CUSTOMERS TO DEAL WITH IT. I HAVE A 2002 GMC ENVOY AND NEVER PAID ANYTHING CLOSE IN REPAIRS. THERE ARE SERIOUS PROBLEMS WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL. WE ARE ALSO A MILITARY FAMILY WHO TRAVELS QUITE A BIT. WE STARTED GETTING ERRORS ON ROAD TRIPS AND WE EVEN HAD THE ORIGINAL WARRANTY REPAIR WHILE WE WERE OUT OF TOWN, CAUSING US TO BE STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY IN THE WASHINGTON DC AREA WHEN OUR CAR JUST STOPPED. GMC IS SHOWING A TOTAL DISREGARD FOR ITS CUSTOMERS. THEY ARE AWARE OF THESE ISSUES AND THEY ARE NOT TAKING ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEM. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL IF IT HAPPENED SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE (PURCHASED USED) THEN IT HAPPENS AGAIN WITH THE REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION AND ALL THE THREADS IN HAVE READ EVERY OWNER IS EXPERIENCING THIS, SOMEONE WILL HAVE BAD ACCIDENT POSSIBLY DEATH. I HAD A RECALL FOR MY DRIVER SIDE, SIDE IMPACT AIR BAG WIRE HARNESS. THE DEALER IN DULUTH MN (KOLAR) FIXED IT BUT LIGHT CAME ON FOR CHECK ENGINE. BROUGHT IT BACK AND THEY ARE TELLING ME IT IS THE PPS SENSOR FOR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS, BUT NOT ON MY ACADIA. THEY WANT $600 PLUS LABOR TO REPLACE. TOTALING AROUND $950. HAD ANOTHER RECALL FOR THE POWER LIFT GATE, STATING THAT THE STRUTS COULD POSSIBLY FAIL PREMATURELY, CAUSING THE POWER LIFT GATE TO DROP. AS I WAS LOADING THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE, THE LIFT GATE SUDDENLY DROPPED ON MY HEAD. I BROUGHT IT TO KOLAR IN DULUTH MN AND TOLD THEM THAT THE STRUTS FROM THE RECALL WERE SHOT AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. I PICKED THE VEHICLE UP AFTER A DAY OF THEM TELLING ME THAT THE RECALL HAD BEEN SUCCESSFUL. A WEEK AFTER I TOOK THE CAR HOME, THE LIFT GATE FELL ON MY WIFE. I COME TO FIND OUT THAT KOLAR NEVER REPLACED THE STRUTS, EVEN AFTER ME TALKING TO THE MECHANIC AND HIM ASSURING ME THAT THEY WOULD BE CHANGED OUT. IT IS NOW SITTING AT THE DEALER WAITING FOR BACK ORDERED STRUTS TO COME IN TO BE INSTALLED.

THIS HAS TO BE A GMC PROBLEM THAT THEY REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE. THE TRANSMISSION IS STILL UNDER THE GMC WARRANTY SO THANK GOD I DON'T HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR THAT. THE ELECTRICAL MODULES SEEM TO BE OKAY FOR NOW BUT AT ANY GIVING TIME THE VEHICLE MAY STOP WORKING. GMC SHOULD OWN UP TO THESE PROBLEMS AND LOOK OUT FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS.

THEY ALSO REPLACED THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG FOR A TOTAL OF $600. THEY GAVE A GUARANTEE THAT THERE WOULD BE NO MORE LEAKS. ON NOVEMBER 18 THE CAR BEGAN LEAKING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AREA AND WATER POURED FROM THE ROOF ONTO THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT WHEN I MADE A FULL STOP. CURRENTLY AWAITING A RETURN CALL FROM THE SERVICE MANAGER OF GMC DEALER. I HAVE VIDEO OF THE PROBLEM. I WAS DRIVING IN THE RAIN FROM ONE COLLEGE CAMPUS LOCATION TO ANOTHER, IN OTHER WORDS MANY STOP AND GO AND SIDE STREETS AT 30 MPH OR LESS. THE CAR MADE SQUEALING NOISES AS WELL WHICH HAPPENED LAST TIME TOO (SEPTEMBER OF THIS YEAR).

THE CAT PROCEEDED INTO AND PARTIALLY UP A GRANITE STONE OUT CROPPING ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CAR THEN WENT AIR BORNE LANDING UP SIDE DOWN ON ITS ROOF IN THE MIDDLE OF ROUTE 89. I BELIEVE THAT THIS ACCIDENT HAPPENED DUE TO IGNITION SWITCH FAILURE WHICH IN TURN SHUT OFF THE ENGINE, POWER STEERING, AND THE ENTIRE AIR BAG SYSTEM WHICH IN THIS ACCIDENT FAIL TO DEPLOY. MY WIFE WAS AIR LIFTED TO NORTHERN ARIZONA MEDICAL CENTER IN FLAGSTAFF, AZ FOR SEVER HEAD INJURE FROM WHICH SHE HAS RECOVERED. IT IS MY BELIEF THAT THE IGNITION FAILURES THAT HAVE SHOWN UP ON OTHER GM CARS IS ALSO A PROBLEM FOR THE 2008 GMC ACADIA AND POSSIBLY OTHER LIKE MODELS OF GM VEHICLES. ACTUALLY GMC SHOULD DO A RECALL OF THESE VEHICLES FOR THIS TRANSMISSION ISSUES AS MANY CARS ARE ALL HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I ONLY HAVE 72000 MILES ON THIS CAR AND I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW. SO IT IS AN ABSOLUTE SHAME THAT THIS CAR IS ALWAYS HAVING TRANSMISSION ISSUES. I THINK THE DEALERSHIP ALREADY KNEW THAT IT WAS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN SEVERAL MONTHS AGO BUT THEY NEVER FIXED IT OR ADDRESSED IT THEN. I HAVE THE RECORDS TO PROVE IT. WHILE OUT SHOPPING WITH MY CHILDREN WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE TO DEPART FOR THE MALL, THE IGNITION TURNED TO THE OFF POSITION, I REMOVED THE KEY BUT THE CAR REMAINED ON. I THEN NOTICED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. SHORTLY AFTER, THE CAR BEGAN SHAKING VIOLENTLY; I ASSUME AS IT WAS ATTEMPTING TO SHUT OFF. I INSERTED THE KEY, SHIFTED INTO TO REVERSE, PULLED OUT OF SPOT AND THEN BACK IN AGAIN. PROCEEDED TO TURN VEHICLE OFF AND AGAIN, KEY REMOVED BUT CAR STILL RUNNING. AGAIN THE VIOLENT SHAKING ALONG WITH LOUD NOISES BEGAN. AFRAID, I INSTRUCTED MY CHILDREN TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE. WE GOT A COMFORTABLE DISTANCE FROM THE VEHICLE AND CONTINUED TO WATCH. IT TOOK 25 MINUTES FOR THE CAR TO SHUT TOTALLY DOWN. WHEN I WENT BACK TO THE CAR, AS I OPENED THE DOOR, I NOTICED THE WARNING SOUND AS IF THE KEY WAS IN THE IGNITION AND ALSO ALTHOUGH THE ENTIRE DASH WAS OFF, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL ON, (IM NOT SURE HOW SINCE THE CAR WAS "OFF" AND NO KEY INSERTED). I DROVE THE CAR HOME AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED WHEN EXITING THE VEHICLE. THE CAR REMAINED ON, BEGAN SHAKING AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALSO STAYED ON AFTER THE CAR WAS TOTALLY SHUT DOWN. VERY SCARY EXPERIENCE. I NOTICED VIA THE INTERNET THAT THIS WAS NOT A NEW ISSUE. I WONDER WHY GM WOULD NOT HAVE CORRECTED THIS PROBLEM WITH ITS VEHICLES BY NOW. I OWN A 2008 GMC ACADIA. WATER LEEKS FROM THE ROOF OF THE CAR COMING IN THROUGH THE SUN ROOF AND THEN LEAKING THROUGH THE TOP COVER OF THE CEILING DOWN ONTO THE THIRD ROW AND DOWN THROUGH THE FRONT BEANS WHERE THE FUSE BOX IS. I HAVE CONTACTED GM MULTIPLE TIMES THEY GAVE ME A REFERENCE # OF 71-941161425 THEY CONTINUE TO SAY THAT MY TRUCK DOES NOT FALL UNDER THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE RECALLED THE SAME MODEL AND YEAR FOR THE EXACT SAME REASONS. THIS HAS THE POTENTIAL OF SHORTING OUT THE FUSE BOX WHILE DRIVING MAKING THIS TRUCK UNSAFE TO DRIVE THE POTENTIAL OF MOLD BUILD UP. I HAVE A 15 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER THAT IS SUPPOSED TO RIDE IN THIS AND THE LAST THING I NEED IS WATER FROM THE CEILING DRIPPING ON HERE THAT HAS GONE THROUGH THE MOLD THAT HAS BUILT UP INBETWEEN THE ROOF AND THE CEILING COVER. GMC REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS STATING THAT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. IF THIS FUSE BOX SHORTS OUT WHILE WE ARE DRIVING AND CAUSES AN ACCIDENT WHERE BODILY HARM IS DONE GMC IS DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR IT. I HAVE BOUGHT THIS CAR RECENTLY THINKING IT WOULD BE SAFE AND I WAS WRONG. *TR
I NOTICED THAT WHEN DRIVING ON AN EXPRESSWAY AND WOULD ATTEMPT TO PASS A SLOWER MOVING VEHICLE, AS I WOULD MOVE INTO THE PASSING LANE AND ATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR WOULD HESITATE FOR A FEW SECONDS, LOSE SPEED, THEN SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFT AND ACCELERATE AT AN UNEXPECTED RATE. I ALSO NOTICED THAT THE CAR WOULD UNEXPECTEDLY ACCELERATE OR DECELERATE UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR, THEY RESPONDED THAT THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG, BUT THE WHAT I WAS EXPERIENCING WAS CHARACTERISTIC OF THE 6-SPEED TRANSMISSION ON THE VEHICLE. THE PROBLEM CONTINUED AND I FOUND IT DANGEROUS. I RETURNED THE VEHICLE AND THE DEALER'S REMEDY WAS TO "RESET THE TRANSMISSION COMPUTER." DURING THIS TIME, I ALSO NOTICED THAT THE "SERVICE STABILITRAC AND TRACTION CONTROL" WARNING WOULD COME ON. ONSTAR RECOMMENDED I SHUT OFF THE ENGINE TO RESET THE SYSTEM. I FOUND THIS ONLY HAPPENED WHEN I FIRST USED THE CAR IN THE MORNINGS TO GO TO WORK. AGAIN, THE DEALER SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG AND THE COMPUTERS WERE SHOWING NO CODES -- THEY ALSO STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I GOT THE CAR BACK FROM THE DEALER AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN - AT 7:00 AM. I CALLED ONSTAR AND THEY GAVE ME TWO CODES. I BOUGHT THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER AND GAVE HIM THE CODES. IT NOW SEEMS THAT THERE WERE TWO DEFECTIVE SENSORS CONTROLLING THE STABILITRAC / TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM AND HOW THEY COMMUNICATE WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I WAS TOLD THAT GM IS CHANGING MANUFACTURERS ON THE SENSORS. I HAVE NOT HAD USE OF THE CAR SINCE THE BEGINNING OF JUNE AND AM STILL WAITING FOR GM TO PRODUCE THESE PARTS. IN THE MEANTIME, UNEXPECTED ACCELERATION, DECELERATION, AND GEAR SHIFTING WAS OCCURRING UNDER ALL DRIVING SITUATIONS CAUSING -- IN MY MIND -- A DANGER TO MYSELF, MY PASSENGERS, AND OTHERS. THE DEALER HAS HAD THE CAR ON FIVE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS SINCE JUNE 8. THIS LAST SERVICE THEY HAVE HAD THE CAR SINCE JULY 20. *TR
