After I put my car in park my daughter and I were still in the vehicle for a few minutes getting our things with the engine still running. I got out to get something from the back seat, my daughter got out the passenger door and made it to the driver side as I was closing the back passenger door. I was about to get back on the car to get the rest of my things and turn the ignition off but before I could my car was rolling backwards out of the driveway into the street. I was able to jump in the vehicle and put my foot on the brake and the put the gear into Park. There’s no way possible I didn’t put it in Park with me getting out already and my daughter couldn’t have accidentally shift the gear because she couldn’t have been able to get out, close the door and make it to the driver side before it started rolling away. Once I got the car stopped, I noticed the driver seat was now all the way to the steering wheel and completely to the floor with the headrest also tilting inwards and now the electrical for the seat will not work. There is a recall for this issue but my vin# is not included. I cannot even drive my car now because the seat is so far up and inclined. what if the seat moves up more while I’m driving and it has me pinned between the steering wheel and the seat. I don’t feel safe driving it, having my daughter as a passenger and it’s really not safe to be on the road. I’m still paying on this car and now i won’t even be able to drive to work. So I’ll probably lose my job. This car has multiple issues and I think is an electrical problem. It’s also a known major defect on this model but still not a recall for my vin #! None of my interior sound works. Speakers, blinkers, alerts, back up camera. The auto start won’t start, I have to press the key fob multiple times to lock and unlock. This car is extremely unsafe to drive and I strongly feel my cars vin# should be listed under the recall. Its going to really affect my daily life and means of income. Lemon!
My 2014 GMC Acadia constantly displays “Service Stabilitrak,” “Service Traction Control,” ABS, brake, and check-engine warning lights. The vehicle will not accelerate past 40 mph under normal driving. Recently, the vehicle began showing “Engine Power Reduced” randomly without any warning, and the vehicle loses power suddenly. The OBD2 code P1682 (Ignition 1 Circuit/Relay failure) appears every time. This issue has caused the vehicle to jerk, lose acceleration, and even stall in the middle of an intersection during rush-hour traffic while my children were in the car, creating a serious safety hazard. These warnings and symptoms are constant, and the power-reduction events occur unpredictably. No official inspection has been completed by the manufacturer. The failed component is still in the vehicle and available for inspection. The malfunction affects traction control, stability control, braking systems, and engine power, putting occupants and other drivers at risk.
Vehicle is randomly stalling or going into limp mode when driving. Has done it in intersections, driving down the hight way and even stopped in a parking lot. No warning but throws codes unrelated to the problem. I’ve been told that it shuts off half of my engine randomly while running and that contributes to the stall. Can cause accident if stalls while turning or even if in wrong lane on high way. You loose all power steering and basically have to coast to safety. Sometimes it re starts some times your stuck there with no reasons for it to not re start. Usually it starts same day when this happens but hours later. Sometimes it stutters and you know it’s coming but not often will you get this warning. I’ve replaced every thing in every code it’s thrown and still can’t go a week without stalling out. Very unsafe for families just trying to go anywhere. Has done in an hour into a trip or three minutes down the road. All weather conditions as well. I’ve had it to two different garages with no luck yet. Have found a bulletin on wiring for the fuse box which seems promising for the issue but am worried about putting more money into something so unreliable. At this point it’s dangerous to drive and is a safety hazard.
Got onto the interstate and suddenly my car stopped but didn’t kill. My traction control light said off and then it said reduced engine power and my fuel went down to E. I couldn’t go but my car was still running. I killed it then waited a minute and started it again and it started moving slowly. Then it said service stabliltrak and traction system but since the light have went off. Around the same time I started hearing popping and crackling sounds from my speaker and now I have no interior sound at all just popping sounds no matter if my car is started or not. I’m scared it’s going to catch on fire or something

Vehicle stalls intermittently. Due to an earlier recall of the same model but not including the one I own. There is electrical shorting inside the fuse box in the ignition circuitry that causes this problem. This is a huge problem as there is no preemptive warning. Whether you're driving 5 mph or 55 mph it happens suddenly and without any warning. The incident is stored in OBDII codes. There are no warning lamps until after 5he vehicle stalls out. #PIT5643. I have had many problems relating to this vehicle, for only owning it for a year. Inaccurate Fuel Gauge Reading- My fuel gauge is inaccurate. It has resulted in my vehicle running out of fuel and stalling, while on road. I have 4 children who are at risk of danger while in vehicle.The fuel warning light has illuminated when the gauge needle says I still have more than plenty of amount (a quarter of a tank or more at times. It differs). I have taken to many shops, it was diagnosed with an electrical and fuel system failure. Electrical shorts and problems- Having electrical shorts on and off. Check engine light comes on/off Vehicle randomly failed to start with no good reason/cause. My vehicle was difficult to start and would require several attempts before starting. Power lock/unlock fob doesn't work, replaced battery multiple times. My windows and sunroof power windows do no work and unable to fully close on/off at times. Check airbag light has been coming on and off. Power Train intermittently, the transmission shifts with a loud thump, at various speeds. Vehicle starts shaking and jerking while shifting gears and going different speeds. My vehicle slows down, power reduce engine and steering difficult at times. Other/ water leak- Found water in all of my tail light assemblies, headlight assemblies, sunroof and windows leaking. There is no proper seal or has worn off, causing leaks in and repairs for many replacements, which are expensive temp fixes with no permanent solution. Causes accidents by not having necessary working equipment for driving conditions. Other:Hood doesn't latch and stay open so difficult to even check fluids properly alone. Multiple dealers have inspected problems, some have not been able to pin point the problem for some of these issues or have been charged unaffordable amount before fixing, and only diagnosing problem. There are recalls out for many of these problems and my vehicle needs to be on the list for serious safety issues!
While driving at 70mph legal speed limit the engine lost all power and ability to brake or steer with and power assistance, mechanic has since told me the timing chain failed and destroyed the engine. Vehicle had aproxmitly 99k miles on it and in good repair. No warning that it was going to fail and was told that this is a common failure with the engines in most gmc / chevy / buick mid size svu.
While traveling approximately 75mph the Service Traction Control light came on followed closely by the Low Oil Pressure Stop Engine Immediately light. We attempted to travel to a more safe area along the interstate. Within seconds the engine immediately shut off causing the loss of power steering and power brakes. The steering wheel locked in place causing the total loss of steering control. We were able to bring the vehicle to a safe stop, I would attribute this success to my being a Defensive Driver Instructor and Transportation Safety Professional. The risk associated with the issues we were faced with could have easily ended in tragedy especially at this speed (75 mph, 80 mph zone) The diagnosis of the vehicle was inconclusive due to the number of codes that were shown. The vehicle was no longer functional and had to be replaced. No documentation, other than the bill for towing is available. Diagnosis was done at no charge.
MY ACADIA HAS SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING MULTIPLE TIMES. TODAY, I WAS IN A PARKING LOT PICKING UP A PRESCRIPTION. THE CAR WAS IDLING WHILE I WAS WAITING IN THE PICK-UP LANE AND THEN SHUT OFF. THE DASH REMAINED ON AND GAVE THE FOLLOWING WARNINGS: TRACTION CONTROL OFF, ENGINE POWER REDUCED, SERVICE STABILITRACK. I TRIED TO RESTART THE ENGINE ONLY TO HAVE THE CAR SHUTTER VIOLENTLY WHILE IDLING. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AGAIN AND THEN RESTARTED FOR A SECOND TIME. THIS TIME IT RESTARTED AS NORMAL AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A DEALER 4 TIMES SINCE OCTOBER AS IT HAS SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING AND MAKING A TURN. THE DEALER SAYS THERE ARE NO CODES IN THE DIAGNOSTICS AND CANNOT FIND A PROBLEM. I'M TERRIFIED TO DRIVE THE CAR. I SAW A RECALL FROM 2014 ABOUT AN ELECTRICAL SHORT BUT I DON'T KNOW IF THAT WAS ALREADY FIXED ON THIS VEHICLE SINCE I BOUGHT IT USED. I ALSO DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS EVEN RELATED TO THAT RECALL.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO JIM CURLEY BUICK GMC OF KEYPORT (400 NJ-35, KEYPORT, NJ 07735) TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST PERFORMED. THE TECHNICIAN RETRIEVED FAILURE CODES: P0018 AND P0021 SHOWING THAT THE TIMING CHAIN AND CAMSHAFT ACTUATOR WERE NO LONGER PERFORMING PROPERLY. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT ALSO WANTED TO STATE THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SAME DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE ENGINE LIGHT BEING ILLUMINATED HOWEVER, THE DEALER CLEARED THE ENGINE CODES UNDER THE VEHICLE WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,547.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY CAR BEGAN SHUTTERING AND THE WARNING SYSTEM WENT OFF STATING THE TRACTION CONTROL HAD GONE OFF. THEN IT SAID ENGINE POWER REDUCED, SERVICE ENGINE, AND SERVICE TRACTION. THE CAR BEGAN SHAKING AND IMMEDIATELY SLOWED DOWN. I PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF THE CAR. UPON RESTARTING THE CAR I RECEIVED A MESSAGE THAT SAID TRACTION CONTROL ON. BUT THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS OCCURRED. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO WHICH THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. AFTER DOING A GOOGLE SEARCH TODAY, I FOUND THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM IN GMC ACADIA AND I AM SHOCKED THAT IT HASN'T BE REPORTED/RECALLED. IN RETROSPECT, I HAVE NOTICED THAT SOMETIMES WHEN I ACCELERATE, THE CAR WILL FAIL TO SHIFT GEARS IN A TIMELY MANNER AND JERK FORWARD WHEN IT FINALLY DOES SO. I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY WITH ALL THREE OF MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR WHEN THIS HAPPEND!

WARRANTY PAID FOR IT. 20,000 MILES LATE I AM HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN, RATTLE NOISE, ENGINE LIGHT ON, AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON. IT WORRIES THAT THIS WILL BE A MAJOR IF IT GIVES OUT WHILE I AM DRIVING WITH MY KIDS.

IT PROPERLY UNLOCK THE DOORS. WE GOT AN AIRBAG NEEDS SERVICE WARNING. A CHECK GAGES WARNING. A SERVICE TIRE MONITORING SYSTEM WARNING. FINALLY, THE ENGINE LOCKS UP AND WON'T START, TURN OVER, OR ANYTHING. SEVERAL HOURS LATER, THE CAR STARTS. THEN IT GOES THROUGH THE WHOLE CYCLE AGAIN OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS TIL IT DOESN'T START AGAIN AND LEAVES US STRANDED. AGAIN. THE FIRST TIME, THE MCDANIEL GMC SERVICE DEPARTMENT CHANGED OUT THE BATTERY AND BELIEVED THAT WOULD FIX IT. WE PAID $190 FOR THAT. IT DIDN'T WORK. IT WENT THROUGH THE SAME CYCLE AGAIN WITHIN A MONTH. NOW THEY EXPECT US TO PAY TO HAVE HE MODULE FIXED, EVEN THOUGH THEY KNEW THERE WAS A RECALL FOR IT WHEN HEY SOLD IT TO US.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 65 MPH, ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, THEN REDUCED ENGINE POWER ALERT. THE CAR WENT DOWN TO 8 MPH AND HARD TO STEER. I WAS BARELY ABLE TO PULL OFF ON THE SIDE WITHOUT GETTING HIT. TURNED OFF THE CAR (45 MINS) AS I WAS WAITING FOR MY SPOUSE AND WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON, IT STARTED WITHOUT AN ISSUE. THE ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON A FEW TIMES AND THEN IT TURNS OFF ON ITS OWN. THE CAR HAS SHUT DOWN A FEW TIMES WHEN DRIVING SLOWLY - TURNING FROM A STOP OR IN DRIVE-THRU. TOOK IT TO THE AUTO REPAIR SHOP AND MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE ISSUE AND FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. I ALSO GET THE AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT TURN ON AND OFF RANDOMLY.

THE STEERING TWO DAYS PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT WAS REALLY TIGHT AND HARD TO STEER AS IS THERE WERE NO POWER STEERING THE VEHICLE TWO DAYS LATER BROKE DOWN ON THE INTERSTATE I WENT FROM 70MPH TO 30MPH WITHIN SECONDS WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED THE SEAT BELT JERKED MY SHOULDER IT JERKED SO HARD WHEN THE ENGINE REDUCED POWER DUE TO WHAT THE MESSAGE ON THE DASH SAID WAS A TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM FAILURE I SPENT 1600 GETTING THE POWER STEERING PUMP, WATER PUMP AND WHAT THEY SAID WAS A LOOSE WIRE CAUSING TH TRACTION CONTROL PROBLEM FIXED JUST FOR THE CAR TO BREAK DOWN AGAIN WITH THE SAME TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM FAILURE MESSAGE THE CAR SLOWED DOWN SO QUICKLY I HIT THE STEERING WHEEL WITH MY SEAT BELT ON AND THE BREAKS WERE VERY HARD TO PUSH I HAD TO CRAWL TO A STOP ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED AGAIN AND NO STEERING THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE THERE SHOULD BE A LAW SUIT

THE CAR LOSES POWER AND A MESSAGE COMES ON SAYING SERVICE STABILITRAK TRACTION CONTROL OFF ENGINE POWER REDUCED, THE ENGINE IDLES ROUGH AND I CANNOT GET BACK UP TO SPEED. I HAVE TO STOP THE CAR COMPLETELY, TURN IT OFF AND WAIT 20-30 SECONDS THEN TURN IT BACK ON. I HAVE TAKEN THE TWICE TO THE DEALER AND THEY CANNOT FIND A PROBLEM.

WHILE DRIVING, THE STABILITRAK SERVICE MESSAGE CAME ON, THEN TRACKTION CONTROL DISPLAYED. THE CAR THEN STALLED, WHILE DOING 70 ON THE FREEWAY. ALMOST GOT KILLED TRYING TO GET TO THE RIGHT LANE. HAD TO TURN OFF IGNITION (AND OPEN THE DOOR TO KILL THE ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT) TO RESET THE CAR TO DRIVE IT. THE CAR ALSO DOES THIS AT IDLE. IT WILL RANDOMLY MIS-SHIFT AND FEEL LIKE A CHAIN WAS HOOKED TO MY BUMPER AND BROKE OFF. SUPER SCARY, LIFE IN DANGER FOR SURE. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN THE LAST 24 HOURS. I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR 5 DAYS AGO.

"TAKATA RECALL" ON TUESDAY JUNE 19 I HAD PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY JUST BEFORE MY GARAGE WITH MY TWO SMALL CHILDREN. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND GOT OUT TO UNLOAD AND PREPARE TO TRANSFER MY ONE KID AND THEN THE OTHER. IT WAS 100 DEGREE WEATHER SO HAD TO KEEP THE CAR RUNNING. AFTER A MINUTE OR SO BEING IN PARK, MY CAR BEGAN TO DRIVE FORWARD WITH NO ONE BEHIND THE WHEEL. MY CAR DROVE OFF MY RETAINING WALL AND LANDED VERTICALLY WITH MY CHILDREN SUSPENDED IN THEIR CAR SEATS. IT HAPPENED AGAIN TODAY 12/9 WHEN I WAS GOING AROUND A CORNER IN THE RAIN. THIS TIME IT SAID SERVICE STABILITRAK AND SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHING AND THE ENGINE SPUTTERING. I HAD BEEN GOING THROUGH A PUDDLE AT THE TIME SO I ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD NO RECORD OF ME BRINGING IT IN ON THE 21ST. I AM BRINGING IT BACK TO THEM ON THE 15TH BECAUSE THAT IS THE FIRST TIME THEY WILL HAVE A LOANER AVAILABLE FOR ME. I AM NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR BECAUSE OF THE DANGER OF SLIDING AND LOSING CONTROL. HEAD OF GM DEALER SERVICE SAID NOTHING WRONG WITH CAR AND THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE PROBLEM, AND THAT THE THING WITH THIS CAR IS THAT YOU CAN'T DRIVE IT ON AN INCLINE WITH LESS OF A QUARTER TANK OF GAS OR IT MIGHT STALL. ON MONDAY,JULY 7, 2014, THE DEALER PICKED MY VEHICLE UP FROM MY WORKPLACE, I'M JUST DOWN THE ROAD. I PICKED MY VEHICLE UP ON MY WAY HOME. FROM THAT TIME FORWARD, I NOTICED OCCASIONALLY I WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE KEY IN THE IGNITION. LIKE SOMETIMES WHEN YOUR STEERING WHEEL IS JUST WRONG. AFTER A FEW ATTEMPTS, I WAS ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENED MAYBE 5-6 TIMES. ON 08/18/14, I TRIED TO CONTACT MY SALESMAN AND HE IS ON VACATION UNTIL NEXT MONDAY. I HAVE NOT CALLED THE DEALER BACK YET TO REPORT THIS, I AM AT WORK. MY MOTIVATION FOR REPORTING THIS IS THAT THE IGNITION WAS REPLACED BECAUSE OF THE RECALL. SINCE THE DAY I DROVE MY ACADIA OFF THE LOT THERE HAS BEEN A "CLICK" THAT OCCURS WHICH SOUNDS LIKE IT IS COMING FROM THE ENGINE THAT CAN BE FELT UNDER THE GAS PEDAL WHEN THE VEHICLE IS ABOUT TO SHIFT INTO 2ND GEAR, BUT ONLY IMMEDIATELY AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE AND NEVER AGAIN WHEN SWITCHING BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR UNTIL IT HAS BEEN TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED. THE NOISE IT MAKES SOUNDS LIKE A MARBLE ROLLING ON A WOODEN FLOOR FOR ABOUT 1-2 SECONDS AND THEN CLICK AND THEN THE GEAR SHIFTS. THE DEALER SAID THEY DIDN'T HEAR ANYTHING BUT I DO AS WELL AS OTHER PASSENGERS DO EVERY DAY. ADDITIONALLY, WHEN TURNING THE VEHICLE AT A SLOW RATE OF SPEED AND THEN ACCELERATING, THE ENGINE SLAMS INTO GEAR WHEN BETWEEN 10-15 MPH BUT ONLY AFTER A TURN AND AN ATTEMPT AT ACCELERATION. ALSO, MY ACADIA IS NOT A VEHICLE UNDER THE "FAULTY GAS GAUGE" RECALL HOWEVER ONCE MY VEHICLE IS BELOW 1/4 TANK THE NEEDLE ON THE GAS GAUGE WILL JUMP FROM 1/8 TANK TO 1/16, BACK UP TO 1/8 OF A TANK ALL WHILE DRIVING ON FLAT ROADWAYS. CONCURRENTLY, THE RANGE FOR THE FUEL ON THE DIGITAL SCREEN GOES FROM 95 TO 58 TO 72 ALL WHILE DRIVING WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON AT A CONSISTENT SPEED. LASTLY, THE VEHICLE HAS THE DENALI GRILL WHICH LEAVES MINIMAL AIRFLOW FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. UP TO THREE HOURS AFTER TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF (IN A COOL GARAGE) YOU CAN STILL FEEL THE HEAT COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT IF YOU PLACE YOUR HAND IN FRONT OF THE GRILL. COULD THIS BE A POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD? ALL OF THESE ISSUES BEGAN WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE WITH 60 MILES ON IT AND CONTINUE NOW AT 15,500 MILES. WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY CAR IN TRAFFIC, THE GREEN CAR INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON AND SLOWED DOWN MY SPEED TO A COMPLETE STOP. AFTER AN HOUR OF BEING STUCK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH A CAR THAT WOULD NOT START, ONSTAR GOT ME A TOW TRUCK AND TOWED ME TO THE DEALER SHIP. THE DEALER SHIP AT FIRST COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR AND TRIED TO SEE IF IT WAS THE INDICATOR LIGHT, AFTER 3 DAYS THE CALLED ME AND INFORMED ME THAT THE BATTERY HAD A BAD CELL WHICH HAD CAUSED THE CARS SYSTEM TO SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THEY GAVE ME A NEW BATTERY AND THAT CLEARED UP THAT PROBLEM. I AM VERY CONCERNED WITH THIS HAPPENING TO SOMEONE ON A HIGHWAY, IMAGINE IF SOMEONE COULD NOT CONTROL THERE CAR AND SPEED WHILE DOING 70 MPH IN THE FAST LANE, THIS COULD EASILY CAUSE A CAR CRASH!!! I WAS FORTUNATE TO BE IN A NEIGHBORHOOD ONLY GOING 25 MPH BUT IT STILL COULD HAVE CAUSED A ACCIDENT SINCE THERE WAS CARS BEHIND ME.
