2018 GMC ACADIA Unknown Or Other Problems

I have been having issues with shift to park message for a yr now and it just gets worse and do not have the funds to pay for it myself bu5 see that it is a recall and gm is covering cost for other makes models of my same yr for same issue takes sometimes 20 minutes to mess with my shifter until I can finally park my car where it shuts completely off. This is a safety risk as 1 it could roll away if it isn't 2 my car could drain and die leaving me stranded by not turning off fully one time. This is ridiculous I called gm and all they just pushed me off I don't understand how this is not being taken serious especially knowing this is a known problem!

I continue to get a message "Steering assist is reduced drive with care " this appears to be a very common issue with my vehicle model. it is very expensive to fix. I am just outside of warranty so it is not covered. Online indicates this is so common. It is the vehicle thermostat and sensor prematurely going bad

I have owned this vehicle less than 5 years and it has had the "Shift to Park" error 3 times and has now been replaced 3 times. The 2nd time was in August 2023 and yesterday it had to be replaced again. I don't understand how a part can fail this rapidly when the vehicle is only being driven approximately 10,000 miles per year. It only has 82,445 miles. I would like for GM to issue a recall for this issue or advise who the manufacturer is of the Switch part number 84955381 and Harness part number 84733196. The parts are not that expensive but the labor to replace was $ 462.50 and total parts was $ 55.56 on the invoice yesterday. As this is an ongoing issue I would like reimbursement. I am widowed and living on one income.

For the past 2 years I have been having a problem with the Shift to Park. It causes my vehicle to not turn completely off therefore draining the battery completely, I have gone through several new batteries because of this issue and has left me stranded needing to uber to purchase a new battery. Recently it started causing issues with my vehicles Antilock braking system and the stability control system although I don't know if they are all related but it is causing a hazard to drive around and it it the only vehicle I own.

My Acadia has the shift to park default it has been fixed 3 times and now it is popping up again for the 4th time which means I can't turn my vehicle off it takes forever to get it to go off please help please help

The shift to park in my 2018 GMC Acadia was faulty. On many occasions and randomly, the car would be in park but would not turn off, saying I needed to shift it to park in order to turn the car off. This has left me unable to turn my car off resulting in dead batteries and missed appointments and being late for work. This defect is well documented by GM in TSBs PIT5616A, 18-NA-297, and 19-NA-206, which describes the exact symptoms and repair that I had to have completed. This problem has been on going and as a teacher I cannot continue to be late for school because my car, though in park, would not turn off. Given GM’s prior acknowledgement of this defect, I believe reimbursement is warranted. I have never been notified of a recall on this.

My 2018 GMC Acadia has had the "Shift T Park" alarm and indicator going off after my car is turned off and in "PARK" It only happens intermittently, but frequently enough to be annoying. The dealer and GM told me because my VIN wasn't in their recall range, they would not honor the recall. This has been happening since I purchased the car in 2018.

Battery saver ignited comes on and and the entire dash flickers and turns off ! This happened in a middle of an intersection and I could move my car. We jumped it and went to the nearest auto zone replaced the battery . It was pulling 89 amps . The next day it popped up again and we replaced the alternator. Upon replacing this there was oil everywhere! And we don’t know where it is coming from . Now shift into part light comes on !

Faulty shifter assembly (shift to park) car stays on while in park because of this issue

The shift to park notification keeps coming on everytime we go to put the car into park. It takes about five to ten minutes shifting back and forth to get the car to shut off.

My Acadia car has been having some problems with the shift to park. I put my vehicle on park and my doesn't turn off because it keeps saying that it hasn't shifted to park. Do to this issue my battery car has been draining and my family and I got locked in. I bought the car not to long ago and it's been an issue ever since its getting worse as time has past. I'm really wanting this fix as it can take hours to turn the car off.

My 2018 GMC Acadia is experiencing an issue with the "Shift to Park" feature. When the vehicle comes to a stop and is put into park an alert comes up on the dashboard says "Shift to Park" even though the car is fully parked. This keeps the vehicle from being able to be turned off. Often times this issue is not fixed by turning the car on and re-shifting to park and i have to drive the vehicle and try again. This happens over 50% of the time I try to park this vehicle.

My car will not recognize when it is in park. The shifter will say park but the panel says on and all accessories are staying on. It started out doing it every once in a while but now it does it nearly every day. At work I have had to just leave it like that in the parking lot to keep from being late for work and the accessories stay on. Once I had to call for a jump start after work because my battery was dead. I’m not sure if it can be stolen or not when I have to leave it like that but I don’t think it could possibly be safe. And I can’t afford to call for jump starts all the time. Thank you and please help.

Shift to park msg appears randomly causing the car to not completely turn off even though car is in park. Have to turn car back on and shift to drive back to park couple of times before msg goes away. I see so many people with the same problem why isn't there a recall this is a safety issue. The 1st time my warranty covered the repairs , 2nd time around I have to pay of pocket.

The shifter, the shift to park displays and dings and stays on the dash after I've put it in park and turned off the ignition. It started the first of 2024 and has gotten worse and now it's almost every time.

Shift to park does not complete. System warning comes on and will not turn off until I restart vehicle and redshift to park. Multiple shifts are required to allow the vehicle to accept park. This has been happening for approximately 1 years.

Car has started displaying a "shift vehicle into park" message when I have put the car in park. Even though the care is clearly in park this warning displays and I'm unable to turn the vehicle completely off. Have re restart and mess with the shifter several times in order to be able to turn the vehicle off and lock the doors.

Roof is leaking in vehicle without reason after seals and tubing replaced. Brakes lock up without warning!

When I try to cut my car off, it says "Shift to Park", but the car is in Park. Sometimes you can push the gear shift up hard and it will make the light go off, but othertimes nothing works and the car stays running and you can't get out. This is an ISSUE on lots of models and some even have recalls. Why are thy not recalled? I have to leave my car unlocked and running until it decides to turn off. Now I am stuck having to pay for this out of pocket, when GMC knows this is an issue.

SHIFT TO PARK alert popping up on. Car will not turn off.

Vehicles does not recognize when the vehicle is parked and does not allow for vehicle to shut off. Gives shift to park error. Takes several tries for vehicle to recognize it is parked. Same issue in 2020 which was repaired by gmc since vehicle was still under warranty. Now that it is out of warranty it's my responsibility

Vehicle will not shift to park- The cars engine is off and will not turn on, while the car physically will not turn off. I have to move the shifter until vehicle recognized it was in park. resulting in me getting stuck in my vehicle. Multiple reports from other owners with no fix provided by GMC.

The transmission was failing to shift and jerking me forward in the vehicle. The check engine light came on. I was on the highway going at high speeds. Also, my vehicles Internet connection dropped. I pulled off the highway and turned off my vehicle. While starting my vehicle again and attempting to go into reverse, it would not reverse and it would not drive forward . It would just rev the RPMs. My vehicle has been sitting at the dealer for two weeks. They have not looked at it yet. The police were not called as there was not an accident, thankfully. The warning light came on as the vehicle was failing.

Shift to park error notice comes up on dash when car it turned off and in park. Car is clearly in park, but error code “shift to park” appears on screen. Beeping occurs until car is turned off and shifted to R or D and then shifted back to park and turned off. This error happens several times a week, including twice today 6/22/24. I have to restart my vehicle and shift it to R or D then back to park SEVERAL times before the error is cleared.

GM has acknowledged that there is a "Shift to Park" problem with 2017 and 2018 GMC Acadia's. This design flaw/ part failure does not recognize that the vehicle is actually in "Park" so you cannot shut off the engine. In addition, the dash lights remain on which eventually drains the battery. Sometimes the car will roll as if it's in Neutral. GM is very aware of this problem. However, they do not have a permanent solution. GM should be required to issue a nationwide recall to correct the situation by totally disabling the electronic part. In six years of ownership, I've encountered this problem 3 times: 5-14-19, mileage 13,266, 1-27-21, mileage 29,381and most recently 5-30-24, mileage 65,057. This 3rd repair cost me $721.88.

Shift to park warning when I’m in park when I turn off vehicle

We purchased this vehicle New in 2018. Gear Shift Problem. The vehicle displays a persistent “Shift to Park” warning on the dashboard. This usually occurs even when the gear selector is in the “Park” position and I have difficulty in Turning Off the Vehicle. The ignition remains active despite the gear selector being in “Park.” We have to go through all the gears - Drive - Neutral then Park then try to turn it off over and over. May take 5 or 6 tries before I can leave the car safely. Unintended Vehicle Movement: We believe the car is safely in the “Park” position and have exited the car and then it rolled. We have to jump back in and try to turn it off. I'm [XXX] and husband [XXX] and this is causing us injuries. It rolled one time and hit the Handicap Parking Sign in my parking space. It just missed hitting another car in a parking lot when it rolled about 3 times now. Called around to get it fixed but everyone says "it's been a problem for years and GMC has NO fix for it." Only temporary fix is to install new gear shifter or full transmission replacement, which owner has to pay for $700 to $3000 repair! We don't have 30,000 miles as of yet. We are low income, on Social Security and this should be a Recall since there are many complaints online for years. Praying we do not have a collision or terrible injuries. Car does not recognize it is in park and has rolled into my garage door even though the shifter has been placed in the park position. Also it continues to alarm to "Shift to Park" and has caused 2 dead batteries.

4 years ago I would get a shift to park error. This meant my vehicle did not recognize that it was in park. This meant that my vehicle would not lock, turn off the radio or headlights. My husband tried to fix it, but it turned out to be a part that only a dealership could obtain. So $500 later my vehicle was fixed. This was a KNOWN problem affecting multiple vehicles/years. Fast forward to the third week of February this year. I again am getting this same error. Took it to the dealership and there is a switch along with a transmission control harness and jumper harness that needed replaced. These parts have to do with the original shifter that was replaced 4 years ago, but of course not covered. So now $668 dollars later my vehicle is fixed. This is another KNOWN issue and my repair paper says “replace per bulletin #19-NA-206. Now I am pissed. I want to know why these are not a recall. Both times were a HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. I could not lock my car for Pete’s sake. If my car was stolen, what is the first question my insurance company is asking? It would be “ WAS IT LOCKED?” Not to mention MY PERSONAL SAFETY. Anyone could get into my vehicle and wait for me or me and my grandchildren to get in the car. Does human trafficking ring any bells???? What is it that needs to be done to make this a damn recall?

Leaving work on [XXX], my vehicle started sounding like a loud truck and it started to smoke. I immediately pull over because something smell like it was burning. That's when I call my insurance company to assist me. So, I had it tow to the nearest Mechanic Shop. It was a scary movement for me being along at night. I'm very upset about this had happen to my GMC 2018 Acadia, the Cadillac Converter left is defect. It is not drivable. It's at the shop for least a month. The Mechanic Shop have not received the parts because GMC has a back order. This is to long being without transportation. This is unfair where I continue to pay the monthly bill. Please, I asking to investigate on this matter. I called the Pep Boy Mechanic Shop today and the manager said it still on BACK ORDER. What happen to GMC products? Hope to hear from someone soon! The shift to park displays and will not allow the vehicle to shut off. This is the second time this has happened in this vehicle. I have 63822 miles and repaired this same issue about 20000 miles ago. Looked into it and it appeared to be a common issue in this year and model. Looking for some insight on what if anything can b me done.thank you

Whining noise from rear axle when 4x4 engaged.

The vehicle will not shift into park. This is a common problem with this vehicle, many lawsuits. When you walk away one has concerns that the vehicle is actually in park or not.

Shift to park issue is getting worse. I couldn’t turn my car off for hours today. The recall is still pending for this and GMC is doing nothing after thousands of class action lawsuits and complaints. Keeping my car running for hours on end while in park because it won’t turn off is causing electrical issues and using tons of gas. I have to get with an attorney at this point because I can’t use my car lots of the times because I can’t leave it running and unlocked all day while I’m at work or at the store. It’s a MASSIVE safety issue. GMC needs to take accountability and fix these vehicles. This has been ongoing for 2 years now.

When I put my car in Park and go to shut it down, it is not recognizing that it is in park, and will not shut down. I have to spend 30 plus minutes messing with the shifter to try to get it to recognize it is in park when it is indeed in park. I have to start and stop my car a number of times to do so. There have been a number of complaints for this over the years and NOTHING has been done with this. This can be a costly repair as I have seen results in a new transmission.

When putting my car in park and turn the car off. the car dashboard says to shift the car in park and beeps. I repeatedly turn the car on and off until the car reads it as being in park. or the car will not turn off completely, it will continue to beep, and it will not lock the doors. I have called a GMC dealer about this issue. There is no warning message except to put the parked car in park!

Vehicle does not recognize that it's in park. Once parked a warning comes on telling you to shift to park. The vehicle does not completely shut off because it does not believe that it is in park.

The thermostat stops working and my a/c stops blowing cold air, and driving assist stops and engine light goes on. It is a rampant problem among GMC Acadias with no reason or fix. Please advise.

The vehicle would intermittently display a "Shift to Park" message and sound alert chiming when moving shifter to park position. The car could not be parked until the chiming and message were dismissed by jiggling the shifter, sometimes after a prolonged battery-draining attempt to end the condition.

Shift to park and unlocked shifter knob, the shifter knob is capable of shifting from drive to neutral without pressing the unlock switch on the shifter while driving. Vehicle says shift to park when parking vehicle, car will not shut off or lock when code is up.

Stabilitrak Warning keeps showing up on dashboard as I turn my vehicle certain down certain roads, round abouts etc like my car shifts or makes it hard to control going around/through certain road conditions.

When placing the car into park, dash indicated that the car was not in park. So, emergency brake had be utilized until the problem was determined by a GMC dealer rep. When asked, the rep did stated that this problem was happening with these vehicles. Safety of driver or others was definitely put at risk, car could have rolled out of my driveway or if parked elsewhere. Definitely felt unsafe operating this vehicle. This was happening on a regular basis prior to scheduling an appointment, approximately 2 weeks. Appointment was made at dealer and it was determined that floor shifter had to be replaced. Failure to be able to get the car in park indicated as above. This should be a recall and not a financial responsibility of owner.

When I put the vehicle in park to exit the vehicle I get an alert on the dash that says to put the vehicle in park. The vehicle is in fact parked but I can't shut it off or lock it. I have searched and found that there was a class action lawsuit but no recall. The dealership keeps telling me that there isn't a fix for the problem.

Water is leaking down back window from 3rd break light. Seal is bad/crushed was never put in right

When I put the vehicle in park and then turn off the engine, a warning comes on the dashboard saying “shift to park” and the electronics will not turn off or the lights and I cannot lock my doors. I cannot leave my vehicle until it goes off. Sometimes it is only a few seconds and can go up to a few minutes. I noticed this problem when I bought the vehicle in 2020 and is a recurring problem and is becoming unbearable that want to trade this vehicle in because I do not want to deal with it.

My 2018 GMC Acadia does not detect that it is in park. The vehicle does not shut off even though I put it in park. I have to wiggle the shifter and play around with it until it detects that it is in park. The dealer is aware of this issue and I did have the entire shifter replaced. This happened the first time at around 30k miles. It has been a little over a year and it is happening again. The fix only seams to be temporary. I am afraid that the car will not detect is in park and keep rolling. This could be a serious issue. GMC is aware of the issue and they have no fix for it. There are already various lawsuits and complaints about this shift to park issue.

The gear system fails to recognize when the car is in park. I have had the gear box replaced once on this car, and it is failing again. The car has 92000 miles. The problem is that I cannot shut the car off completely or lock it because the system does not recognize that the car is in park. My dealer told me last time that the problem is caused by a faulty sensor. Now it's happening again. This is a major issue and GMC needs to correct it. Thankfully I bought an extended warranty so they will have to fix it again, but this is absurd. No other car I've had has ever had this issue.

Had to replace the shifter, harness, and parking assist module to the tune of $1569.00! When it was put into park the system would not acknowledge it was in park...therefore I could not lock the vehicle and an alarm kept going off. My Acadia only has 12,000 miles on it...NO excuse for having to replace those parts with or without a warranty! Dealership said I am not the only one this has happened to...they have replaced a number of them!

Shift to park notification keeps coming on after shutting off the car. It obviously has been shifted in to park before turning off the engine, but the notification keeps popping up. I have had the shift harness replaced by a mechanic once alreafy. He says this is the GMC authorized fix. IT DID NOT FIX THe PROBLEM! Of course, he'll put another shift harness for me, but what are the odds that will solve anything. GMC needs to come up with a better solution! It is frustrating and time consuming trying to come up with whichever trick will work to make the notification to away. I am not a very happy customer!

when the car is in park it thinks its still in gear and there is an alarm that says "SHIFT TO PARK". Car cant be turned off. It rolls. its unsafe. It was repaired once for this in 2019. It came back 2 weeks ago. Dealer wont honor correcting the repair.

I'm getting the "Shift to Park" message when my vehicle is already in the Park position. This issue first started happening in 2019 and I took it to my local GMC service center to be looked at since it was still under warranty. It started happening again about 2 weeks ago. My extended warranty and powertrain has expired, so I'm concerned that the same dealership will charge me for this repair when I take it this week. CALLED DIFFERENT DEALERS EVEN THE ONE I BROUGHT THE CAR TO FIX PROBLEM (THAT WAS A JOKE), THEY KNOW ITS A PROBLEM AND SAYING SINCE THAT PART GOT FIXED IN 2019 WITH A BAD PART AND NOW THERE IS A A NEWER FIX THAT SHOULD WORK BETTER, BUT I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND PART AGAIN. AGAIN THEY KNOW IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS AND IT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. I HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND ON RESHIFT, PUSH THE SHIFTER HARDER, ETC TO GET THE MESSAGE TO GO AWAY SO I CAN TURN MY CAR OFF.

MY 2018 GMC ACADIA WAS BOUGHT USED. IT HAS AN ISSUE WITH THE SHIFTER REGARDING "SHIFT TO PARK". I WAS GETTING A SHIFT TO PARK ERROR MESSAGE WHEN PUTTING MY ACADIA IN PARK. I HAD IT REPAIRED ON 08/18/2018. THE SAME PROBLEM CAME UP AGAIN AND WAS REPAIRED TODAY 10/19/2020. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND VERY FRUSTRATING. MY WARRANTY EXPIRES ON 12/14/2020 AND BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY COMPLAINTS ON THE GM AUTHORITY WEBSITE THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL SO MYSELF AND OTHERS ARE NOT STUCK WITH PAYING FOR SOMETHING THAT IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THIS HAPPENS WHEN A VEHICLE IS PUT INTO PARK AND THEN THIS SHIFT TO PARK ERROR MESSAGE COMES UP. SOMETIMES YOU CANNOT EVEN SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. BOTH REPAIRS INVOLVED REPLACING THE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY. THIS IS A GM PROBLEM AND SHOULD THEY SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL.

WHEN THE VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE SHIFTED TO "PARK", THE CAR NOTIFIES YOU ON SCREEN "SHIFT TO PARK" AND THEN BECOMES STUCK AND YOU HAVE TO KEEP WIGGLING, TRYING TO GET IT TO ACTUALLY PARK UNTIL THE NOTICE GOES AWAY. IT HAPPENS AT RANDOM AND HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR THE LAST TWO WEEKS. THERE SEEMS TO BE NO RECALL, YET THE 2017 2018 MODELS ARE ALL HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE AND THERE IS NO RECALL YET. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND WE ARE NOW BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CHARGES TO HAVE IT BEING FIXED. THIS SHOULD NOT BE MY RESPONSIBILITY AS IT IS HUGELY AWARE TO ALL THE DEALERSHIPS AND THERE ARE COURT CASES BEING FILED BECAUSE OF THIS.

THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING THE LAST MONTH OR TWO. I BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW.

THIS OCCURS WHEN WE ARE STATIONARY ATTEMPTING TO PLACE THE VEHICLE INTO PARK FROM DRIVER OR REVERSE.

I HAD TO RESTART THE CAR, SHIFT THE SHIFTER DOWN THEN BACK TO PARK BACK DOWN AND BACK TO PARK BEFORE THE CAR WOULD RECOGNIZE THE SHIFTER WAS IN PARK. EACH TIME THIS HAPPENED WHEN I WAS IN A PARKING SPOT AND IN MY GARAGE.

I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE AND I AM DISAPPOINTED TO DISCOVER THAT GMC IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE OCCURRING WITH THE VEHICLES. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE ESPECIALLY IF IT WILL FAIL TO HOLD YOUR VEHICLE IN PARK.

VEHICLE IS OWNED (NO FIANCING, NO LEASE). PAID FOR A $50K VEHICLE THAT I CAN'T DRIVE. NOT SAFE, NOT USEABLE.

IF I OPEN THE DOOR AND SHUT IT, THE HORN HONKS TO ALERT THAT THE VEHICLE IS STILL "ON" AND NOT COMPLETELY STOPPED. THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE IGNITION BUTTON TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE VEHICLE IS OFF IS BY JERKING THE GEAR SHIFT UNTIL THE GREEN LIGHT GOES TO "OFF". IT DOES NOT DO IT EVERY TIME I TURN THE VEHICLE OFF, BUT IT DOES IT ABOUT EVERY OTHER TIME. I WILL TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP VERY SOON FOR THEM TO LOOK AT THIS ALSO.

CAR WAS NOT MOVING HAD ONLY GONE WITHIN CITY LIMITS WITH MAX SPEEDS OF 45MPH.

YOU WOULD THEN HAVE TO SHIFT BACK AND FORTH, FROM PARK TO REVERSE OR DRIVE AND THEN BACK INTO PARK FOR THE VEHICLE TO FINALLY REGISTER IT WAS IN PARK. THIS WOULD OCCUR WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND SITTING ANYWHERE YOU WOULD PARK THE CAR.

I AM UNABLE TO TURN OFF MY VEHICLE COMPLETELY. I HAVE TO PRESS START AGAIN AND PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE AND BACK TO PARK, SOMETIMES MULTIPLE TIMES IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO REGISTER THAT IS IN PARK AND ALLOW ME TO SHUT OFF MY VEHICLE COMPLETELY. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE VEHICLE MAY NOT ACTUALLY BE IN PARK WHEN I PUT IT IN PARK. I DO NOT WANT IT TO ROLL DOWN A HILL AND I WANT TO BE ABLE TO TURN OFF MY CAR WITHOUT BEING CONCERNED IT WILL CONTINUE TO RUN ELECTRICAL AND KILL MY BATTERY.

WHEN THE MESSAGE FLASHES I'VE EVEN EXPERIENCED THE VEHICLE ROLLING INDICATING IT IS IN FACT NOT IN PARK ALTHOUGH THE SHIFTER IS IN PARK POSITION. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY AND I WILL ALSO BE CONSULTING AN ATTORNEY AS THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH NO CLEAR FIX (MANY PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD THE SHIFTER REPLACED ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS AGAIN) AND THE PART THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED IS ON BACKORDER. PEOPLE'S VEHICLES LITERALLY CANNOT TURN OFF RESULTING IN BATTERIES DYING AMONG THE VERY OBVIOUS SAFETY CONCERNS. HOW IS THIS LEGAL?

FIRST OF ALL, THIS ISSUE IS BEING REPORTED BY HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF GMC ACADIA OWNERS. I RECEIVED THE "SHIFT TO PARK" MESSAGE MONTHS AGO WHILE IT STILL WAS UNDER THE 36,000 MILE WARRANTY AND THEN IT WENT AWAY UNTIL LAST WEEK. I GOT A "SHIFT TO PARK" MESSAGE WHEN I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF EVEN THOUGH THE GEAR WAS IN THE SHIFT POSITION. THIS CAUSED A NUMBER OF SECONDARY ISSUES THAT ARE NOW COMPROMISING THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE. ONCE I AM ABLE TO TURN THE VEHICLE BACK ON AFTER IT DRAINS OR KILLS THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, I AM GETTING A NUMBER OF ISSUES. HOWEVER, THE ONES THAT CONCERN ME THE MOST ARE THE ROLLS EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE IS IN PARK, LOSS OF POWER STEERING, LOSS OF AWD, LOSS OF STABILITRACK, LOSS OF ABS, BRAKING SYSTEM ERROR AND POWER SURGES. THESE ARE THE MOST CONCERNING BUT I AM ALSO HAVING ISSUES WITH MY DASHBOARD, NAVIGATION, AND VEHICLE INSTRUMENTS. I CALLED THE GMC DEALER WHO HAD NO PROBLEM TELLING ME THE GEAR SHIFT BOX NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY HAD NO IDEA WHEN THEY CAN FIX IT BECAUSE IT WAS ON A NATIONAL BACK ORDER. WHAT REALLY DISTURBS ME IS THAT THERE ARE LAWSUITS GOING ON DEALING WITH THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE AND THAT LITERALLY IT COMPROMISES THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE AND NEITHER GMC OR THE NHTSA HAVE ACTED ON THIS. I WAS DRIVING TODAY AND REALIZED HOW DANGEROUS IT WAS TO OPERATE A VEHICLE UNDER THESE CONDITIONS. YOU CAN LITERALLY BE DRIVING AND THE VEHICLE HAVE A POWER SURGE WHICH MAKES YOU LOSE CONTROL CAUSED BY A MALFUNCTION IN THE GEAR SHIFT BOX. I AM ASSUMING THAT NO ONE WILL DUE ANYTHING UNTIL SEVERAL PEOPLE ARE EITHER KILLED OR SERIOUSLY INJURED. THIS ISSUES HAS BEEN REPORTED ON MODELS GOING BACK TO 2017 AND HERE WE ARE IN 2019 AND STILL HAVE THE ISSUE. I HAVE PICTURES TO SUPPORT ALL OF THIS AS WELL, INCLUDING WATER DAMAGE.
