WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE ALL DASH LIGHTS AND GAUGES JUST STOP WORKING. THEY WILL COME BACK ON BUT THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. ALSO MY HEADLIGHTS GO ON AND OFF I HAVE CHANGED OUT THE BULBS THINKING THAT WAS THE ISSUE AND NO ITS NOT. ON MY WAY TO WORK THIS MORNING AT 530AM THEY STOPPED AND HAVE NOT TURNED BACK ON CAUSING ME TO PULL OVER AND NOW MISSING WORK TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE SINCE THE BEGINNING OF JUNE AND THE PROBLEM SEEMS IT'S GETTING WORSE. I CAN'T DRIVE 70 MPH ON A HIGHWAY AND HAVE MY HEADLIGHTS JUST STOP WORKING. I ALSO SMELL GASOLINE INSIDE MY VEHICLE FREQUENTLY.

AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN INTERSTATE AT 70-75MPH , THE HEADLIGHTS, DASH LIGHTS, ALL THE LIGHTING JUST SHUT OFF! I HAD NO IDEA WHAT TO DO. I WAS ON ONE OF THE MOST DANGEROUS INTERSTATES, KNOWN FOR FATAL ACCIDENTS... AND I'M DRIVING IN THE DARK WITHOUT LIGHTS! I QUICKLY MOVED TO SIDE OF ROAD AND SHUT IT OFF IN CASE OF FAULTY WIRING/FIRE HAZARD. AFTER APPROX. A FIVE MINUTE PHONE CALL, I STARTED CAR, LIGHTS WORKED. STARTED DRIVING AGAIN, APPROX. 10 MINUTES DOWN ROAD, LIGHTS SHUT OFF AGAIN. I HOPE THIS PROBLEM IS RESOLVED SOON! THIS IS DANGEROUS AND CAN KILL PEOPLE! *TR

I DON'T KNOW WHY THERE IS NO IN INVESTIGATION WHEN THERE'S ALOT OF THE SAME VEHICLE GOING THROUGH THE SAME PROBLEMS MY 2002 HAS 118 000 AND IT HAD ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL OF THE PROBLEMS THAT EVERYBODY COMPLAINED AND EVEN MORE THAN WHAT'S ALREADY THERE WRITTEN ALL U WAITING FOR IS SOMETHING REALLY BAD TO HAPPEN THEN U RECALL WHEN IS TO LATE THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPAIRED COMPLETELY AND THERE AGAIN THE SAME PROBLEM IN LESS THAN 3 MONTHS 4WD HAS BEEN SENT TO FIX MORE THAN 6 TIME STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT'S THE PROBLEM, BREAKS SQUEAKS ALL THE TIME, EVERY TIME IT RAINS GOT TO STOP CANT SEE CAUSE OF THE WIPERS, THE SEAT BELT RIPPED ON THE REAR SIDE, THE CLUTCH STAYS STUCK ON WHILE DRIVING, HEATERS DON'T WORK ON NUMBER 5 IT WILL TURN OFF, IF I PUT THE HEATER TO HEAT ALL AROUND MY VEHICLE TURNS OFF, THE FRONT WHEELS ONE IS MORE APART FROM THE BUMPER THAN THE OTHER AND WHEN IT SNOWS WITH OUT THE 4WD U DON'T GO NOWHERE IT GETS STUCK EVERYWHERE OR SLIDES............. RECALLS THAT ARE SERIOUSLY AFFECTING THE CAR'S SAFETY THAT CANNOT BE REPAIRED BECAUSE THE SERVICE CALL HAS CLOSED, BUT WAS BOUGHT THAT WAY WITHOUT KNOWING. THE WIPER MOTOR WORKS WHEN IT WANTS ON THE DRIVER SIDE, PREVENTING CLEAR SAFE VISION DURING RAIN, THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE IS STUCK IN 4 WD, THE FRONT SUSPENSION POSSIBLY CRACKED, THE HEADLIGHT DOESN'T FACE STRAIGHT ON THE ROAD, THE AIR BAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE HAS DEFECT THAT IF DEPLOYED CAN CAUSE BODILY INJURY TO THE PASSENGER, LICENSE PLATE ONLY WORKS WHEN ITS SLAMMED SHUT, AND HAVE ISSUE WITH THE ELECTRICAL UNDER THE DASH THAT APPARENTLY FAILS TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARDS NO. 101, "CONTROL LOCATION, IDENTIFICATION, AND ILLUMINATION" AND NO. 208, "OCCUPANT CRASH PROTECTION..BUT YET GM WONT REPAIR IT !!! ALL OF THESE ARE PRIOR RECALLS, BUT BECAUSE I WASN'T THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND DIDN'T TAKE THE CAR IN WHEN THEY WERE FIRST ANNOUNCED, GM REFUSES TO MAKE MY ENVOY SAFE FROM CAUSING ME OR MY KIDS HARM. BECAUSE THE FIRST OWNER DIDN'T DO IT, OR BECAUSE ITS TOO LATE. I HAD THE ELECTRICAL CLUSTER ON MY 2002 GMC ENVOY XLT REPLACED IN JULY OF 2009 DUE TO THE GAS GAUGE FLUCTUATION. I WAS INFORMED THAT I HAD A BAD ELECTRONIC CLUSTER THAT WAS COVERED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRENTY.IT WAS REPLACED. NOW IT IS DOING THE SAME THING AGAIN. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR HAD GONE BAD. AFTER PAYING 462.00 FOR THE REPAIR THE GAS GAUGE IS STILL FLUCTUATING. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 GMC ENVOY XL. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, SMOKE APPEARED FROM THE VENTS ON THE DASHBOARD. THE CONTACT STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND CALLED THE POLICE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE PANEL CLUSTER GAUGE MELTED. THE POWERTRAIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 97,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000.

MY HEADLIGHT DRIVER MODULE FUSE CAUGHT FIRE AND CAUSED A FIRE IN MY FUSE BOX IN WHICH I HAD TO USE A FIRE EXTINGUISHER TO PUT OUT. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT THE FUSE GOT HOT AND INSTEAD OF SHORTING OUT AND BLOWING THE FUSE IT CAUGHT FIRE. HAD I NOT BEEN IN MY DRIVEWAY MY VEHICLE WOULD HAVE BURNT COMPLETELY TO THE GROUND. WHEN TURNING, THE STEERING WHEEL HESITATES AND CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO JERK UNCONTROLLABLY. WHEN THE WINDOWS ARE DOWN, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS DIM DUE TO AN ELECTRICAL SHORT. THE TIRES WERE CHANGED FOUR TIMES, BUT CONTINUED TO FAIL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN REPLACED REPEATEDLY. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE DISCS WERE FAILING DUE TO ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 68,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.
