This Problem Across All Years
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE REAR HATCH WINDOW OPENED ON ITS OWN INTERMITTENTLY. THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. ALSO, THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WOULD NOT OPERATE INTERMITTENTLY FROM THE OUTSIDE. THE DEALERSHIP ADJUSTED THE STRIKER AND CLEANED THE DOOR JAM, BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED.

IN A MATTER OF ONE WEEKS TIME WE HAD 2 DOOR LOCKS FAIL ON THE PASSENGER DOORS OF OUR GMC ENVOY XL. THE LATCH THAT CLOSES THE DOOR FAILED AND ONE OF THE DOORS OPENED WHILE DRIVING THE CAR. I HAD THE FIRST LATCH ON THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR REPLACED ON SEPTEMBER 20TH AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED WITH THE DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR ON SEPTEMBER 25, 2005. THIS TIME I WAS NOT DRIVING JUST PUTTING MY CHILD IN HIS CAR SEAT AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE. I AM TALKING WITH GM ABOUT THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THEY HAVE CHANGED QUITE A FEW OF THESE. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE A RECALLED ITEM. I ONLY HAD THE CAR 3 YEARS AND A PART THAT CAN CAUSE SUCH A DEADLY CONSEQUENCE SHOULD NOT WEAR OUT. THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED. *NM
