TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 GMC ENVOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MOTOR IN THE DRIVER'S DOOR SHORTED OUT AND THE WINDOW REGULATOR AND MOTOR WERE BURNT. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE ALMOST CAUGHT FIRE. SMOKE APPEARED FROM THE DOOR PANEL, WHICH THE CONTACT MANAGED TO PUT OUT. COYLE CHEVROLET BUICK GMC (1801 BROADWAY ST, CLARKSVILLE, IN 47129, (812) 218-1100) DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW POWER WINDOW SWITCH, FUSE, AND HARNESS. THE REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. WHEN THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V248000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, VISIBILITY), THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED AND ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE BE TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR REIMBURSEMENT. THE DEALER DID NOT REIMBURSE THE CONTACT AND PRESENTED THE REPAIR PAPERWORK TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT REIMBURSEMENT WAS NOT AN OPTION SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED OUTSIDE OF THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE DID NOT KNOW OF THE RECALL BECAUSE HE WAS NOT SENT A LETTER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 148,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 GMC ENVOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MASTER CONTROL MODULE ON THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW DID NOT WORK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CONTROL MODULE WAS REPAIRED PER AN UNKNOWN RECALL IN 2014. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ORIGINAL MODULE THAT WAS REPLACED PER THE RECALL NEVER FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER CONFIRMED THAT THE CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED PER A RECALL IN 2014. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 183,000.

THE AC BLOWER RESISTER OVERHEATED AND MELTED. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IN 3 YEARS THIS HAS HAPPEN. THE FAN CONTROL USUALLY GOES OUT ON ALL SPEEDS FOLLOWED BY A STRONG SMELL OF ELECTRICAL WIRE BURNING. 2006 GMC ENVOY 360 DRIVING AT NIGHT, THE HEADLIGHTS CUTS OFF. THE POWER DOOR LOCKS, POWER WINDOWS SWITCHES AND HEADLIGHTS FUNCTION INTERMITTENTLY OR MAY STOP WORKING, THE AIR SUSPENSION WON'T RAISE TO ITS NORMAL LEVEL. *MW THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE JUMP STARTED, BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT START. THE CONSUMER ATTACHED RECALL LETTER 14V404000. HOWEVER, THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. *JB

THE CONTACT RECEIVED SAFETY RECALL NOTIFICATION NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 13V248000(ELECTRICAL SYSTEM , VISIBILITY); HOWEVER, THE FAILURE OCCURRED IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING REGARDING AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. 2006 GMC ENVOY. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO REIMBURSEMENT FOR FRONT POWER WINDOW SWITCH MODULE REPLACEMENT. *SMD ACCORDING TO THE INVOICE, THE POWER WINDOW SWITCH WAS DEFECTIVE DUE TO CORROSION CAUSED BY WATER OR RAIN THAT LEAKED INTO THE MAIN CIRCUIT BOARD WINDOW SWITCH MODULE.

THE FUSE LATER BLEW AND THE SMOKE CEASED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY ADVISED THAT HIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 12V406000 (VISIBILITY:POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS). TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 GMC ENVOY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER ACTIVATED, A STRONG BURNING ODOR EMITTED THROUGH THE AIR VENTS. SUDDENLY THE HEATER BLOWER FAILED TO OPERATE. THE CONTACT CONTINUED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE BUT LATER DISCOVERED THAT THE HEATER BLOWER WIRING CONNECTOR WAS MELTED AND HAD DAMAGED THE RELAY RESISTOR MODULE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THERE WAS A VOLUNTARY RECALL ISSUED BY THE MANUFACTURER FOR THE 2006 SIERRA 1500 VEHICLE PERTAINING TO THE FAULTY RELAY RESISTOR MODULE AND WIRE CONNECTOR BUT NOT FOR THE ENVOY. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.

FRONT WINDSHIELD WASHER NOZZLE FAILURE, BOTH (LEFT AND RIGHT). 1ST EVENT NOTED IN 2009 WHEN VEHICLE HAD 32000 MILES, THIS IS THE 2ND EVENT. NOZZLES STOP SPRAYING WASHING FLUID EFFECTIVELY, PREVENTING DRIVER FROM CLEANING THE FRONT WINDSHIELD IN HIGH DEBRIS CONDITIONS, REDUCING VISIBILITY AND POSING A DRIVING HAZARD SPECIALLY IN HIGH DEBRIS / INSECT AREAS IN NON-OPTIMAL LIGHTING CONDITIONS SUCH AS NIGHTTIME DRIVING OR WHEN THE VEHICLE IS ALIGNED TOWARDS THE SUN OR OTHER LIGHT SOURCE. PREVIOUS EVENT REQUIRED REPLACEMENT OF THE NOZZLES, IT IS NOT CAUSED BY OBSTRUCTION AS PLENTY OF FLUID STILL FLOWS OUT OF THE NOZZLE (JUST NOT IN THE NECESSARY PATTERN). *TR

I HAVE A 2006 GMC ENVOY. TWO MONTHS AGO AFTER FILLING UP MY GAS TANK THE GAUGE INDICATED NO FUEL, AND THEN IT WOULD FLUCTUATE, FROM FULL TO EMPTY. NOW IT IS A DAILY OCCURRENCE. THE GAS TANK IS FULL AND READS EMPTY, THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, THEN IT READS I HAVE HALF A TANK, THEN NO GAS AND BACK UP TO FULL. I KNOW OTHER OWNERS HAVE PROBLEMS AND HOPE THERE WILL BE A RECALL SOON ON THIS. I ALSO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE GAUGE IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR, I DO NOT GET AN ACCURATE READING. WHEN IT'S 70 DEGREES OUT, IT READS -34 DEGREES. I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY BLOWER, THE HIGHEST LEVEL DOES NOT WORK. *TR

THE PROBLEM WITH MY 2006 GMC ENVOY IS EVERYTIME I TURN THE AC/HEATER ON THERE IS A FOUL ODOR EMITTING FROM THE VENTS FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO TO THREE MINUTES. I CONTACTED GMC THEY STATE THAT THE PROBLEM IS OCCURRING BECAUSE I LIVE IN A HIGH HUMIDITY AREA OF THE COUNTRY AND THAT A DRYER NEEDED TO BE ADDED TO THE VEHICLE FOR 800 DOLLARS AND THEY COULD ONLY OFFER TO TAKE HALF OF THE PRICE. I STATED TO THE REPRESENTATIVE THAT THIS IS NOT ON THE VEHICLE THAT I BROKE THAT THIS PROBLEMS SEEMS TO HAVE DEVELOPED SOMEWHERE IN THE DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE VEHICLE WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO TAKE ON THE RESPONSIBILITY OF REPAIRING IT WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW. *TR
