THE FUSE HAS BEEN TESTED AND REPLACED, BUT THE MALFUNCTION CONTINUES. 3)THE WARNING SOUND FOR THE DRIVERS SEATBELT, TO REMIND TO FASTEN THEM, NO LONGER WORKS. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS WE LIVE IN RAINY PACIFIC NORTHWEST AND WE END UP DRIVING UP TO 1/2 HOUR IN RAIN BEFORE THEY COME ON IF THEY COME ON AT ALL. THIS IS A HUGE HAZARD AS IT COULD LEAD TO A VERY SERIOUS AND DEVASTATING INJURY OR LOSS. I HAVE NOT CONTACTED A DEALER YET BUT THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BECOMING MUCH WORSE. COMING TO A STOP ON A DRY ROAD, THE PAVEMENT SURFACE CHANGED FROM DRY ASPHALT TO DRY,CRACKED CONCRETE. ANTI-LOCK KICKED IN WHEN NOT NEEDED AND I ALMOST REAR-ENDED THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. LATER THAT DAY, IN A DRIVING RAINSTORM, THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR STOPPED (FOR ABOUT THE 50TH TIME) AND I WAS UNABLE TO SEE IN FRONT OF ME. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND MANUALLY TUG THE WIPER BLADE TO GET THE WIPERS TO WORK AGAIN. THE WIPERS HAVE AN INT. PROBLEM. IT SOUNDS JUST LIKE THE ONE IN BULLETIN # 98V150000. I SEE THERE THAT IT COVERS THE TRUCKS AND NOT THE VANS. ALSO THE A\C CLUTCH HAS SOME DIAGONAL BANDS ON THE FRONT, THEY BROKE AWAY FROM THE CENTER AND OPENED UP LIKE FLAIL KNIVES AND CUT EVERY BELT, HOSE, AND WIRE NEAR THE CLUTCH UNTIL ONE OF THE BANDS BROKE OFF AND WENT FLYING AROUND UNDER THE HOOD CAUSING ALOT OF DAMMAGE AND A BIG MESS. MY A\C HAS NEVER WORKED RIGHT SINCE. SORRY ABOUT THE VIN I DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE VAN AT THIS TIME, IF YOU WOULD NEED IT AT A LATTER TIME I COULD GET IT. I DO NOT WISH TO GIVE MY DEALERS NAME BECAUSE THEY HAVE TREATED ME WELL ITS JUST THAT THEIR HANDS ARE TIED.

AT IDLE AT A STOP LIGHT, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS STALLED IN THE MID POSITION. WE TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND RESTARTED IT AND THE WIPERS DID NOT RESTART UNTIL ABOUT 5 MINUTES HAD PASSED. AFTER ABOUT 30 MORE MINUTES OF DRIVING WE STOPPED FOR LUNCH AND WHEN WE RESTARTED THE CAR AGAIN IT WORKED NORMALLY. WE DROVE FOR ANOTHER 100 MILES TURNED THE CAR OFF AND WHEN WE RESTARTED IT THE WIPERS DIDN'T START UNTIL 30 MINUTES HAD PASSED WITH THE ENGINE ON AND THE WIPER KNOB ACTIVATED.

AFTER THE ENGINE WAS REBUILT THE FIRST TIME, WHILE DRIVING IT, I HAD ANOTHER ROD KNOCK BUT THIS TIME IT WAS ALOT LOUDER AND CAUSED MORE DAMAGE TO THE MOTOR. THE OIL PUMP QUIT WORKING, CAUSING ENGINE FAILURE DUE TO LONG BLOCK BEARING FROZE AND ENGINE NOW NEEDS REPLACEMENT, $4000.00, REAR PASSENGER DOOR STICKS AND THEN OPENS WHILE DRIVING DOWN ROAD AT ALL SPEEDS, WINDSHIELD WIPERS WORK INTERMITTENTLY AND CAUSES VERY POOR VISIBILITY, ESPECIALLY IN RAIN AND SNOW $50.00, ADDITIONALLY VEHICLE HAD JUST HAD TUNE UP 3 WEEKS PRIOR AND NO OIL PUMP PROBLEM EXISTED $700.00 WAS DUE AT THAT TIME FOR TUNE UP, CAR RENTAL WHILE EGR VALVE WAS REPAIRED (RECALL), WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR REPLACED. NOW BECAUSE OF OIL PUMP $360.00 PLUS $4000.00 IF WE WANT TO FIX ENGINE.
THIS EVENT HAS REOCCURRED THREE TIME ON A RANDOM BASIS. CALLED DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND WAS TOLD THAT PROBLEM WAS MOST LIKELY THE WINDSHIELD WIPER DELAY MODULE. SERVICE WRITER SAID THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM AND IT OCURS FREQUENTLY.*AK
