The temperature sensor in the transmission is faulty leading to hard/delayed shifting, shuttering, and vibration
the steering assist fails, Power and steering is reduced at driving speeds. Steering wheel locks and vehicle looses voltage and stalls while driving at low speeds and have been close to collision. Vehicle was inspected by Group One Gmc in el Paso Texas. They did not fix recall because it "did not pertain to my vin" . There is a recall for the steering assist on all gmc 2015 1500, but not for my gmc 2015 1500 for some reason. Whether it was manufactured in the us or the moon its still a gmc 2015 1500 with faulty steering assist system from the manufacturer with an open recall. Thanks for your help
When parking and turning the wheel the truck stalled, radio turned off and on, ac stopped working, battery reading dropped. Maybe an electrical issue since it happens continuously, while making turns at slow speeds the truck wants to turn off, lights dim then go back to normal.
At low speeds when applying the brake, whether in a turn or traffic, the vehicle will shut off completely. This has happened multiple times and has almost caused accidents on a few occasions. It has also happened while just driving down the road, the entire truck lost power and then came back, the windshield wipers came on as well.
Infotainment screen not responsive to touch, will not reset and freezes with black screen message warning drivers to not take their eyes off the road. Because of the latent defects known to GM in the screen, it is impossible to reset the controls (the "OK" button will not clear the error message). The freezing and non-responsiveness and elimination of outside temperature display creates a driver distraction hazard trying to clear it while driving, and prevents the driver from being alerted to outside temperatures dropping below freezing. GM customer care refused to provide any assistance for the $1,045 repair charge quoted by the dealer and refused to acknowledge that this is an inherent vehicle defect well established, that already produced a service advisory and redesign of the defective screen. Problem has existed for quite some time, and infotainment issues were initially reported to dealer on 3/9/2015 (2 months after delivery) without adequate resolution.
After recall the problem got worse
I was driving my truck with my family in the car. I turned on the rear window defrost and a few minutes later the rear window blew out and made a loud bang noise. Also a burning smell took over the rear of vehicle. I did some research on line and saw this has happened to several owners of this model year pick up. It’s 100% a safety hazard. Not sure what to do since I don’t see a recall for this common problem. Thank you.
It keep having this issue constantly every minute saying trailer brake system

I purchased my truck (15 GMC Sierra z71 4x4) with around 122,000 miles on it. I would be owner #2. Truck ran great. Around 150,000 miles I noticed my truck's transmission start to jerk while accelerating from gear to gear. No engine light ever appeared. Problem stopped. A few days later while dropping my daughter off at school, my truck wouldn't go passed 35 mph. I had to put the shifter in manual and shift to third gear. Other gears would just rev the rpm's to 4 or 5. Since I didn't want to put my family, me and others on the road at risk. I parked my truck and started driving my other vehicle. A few months went by, and my other vehicle had a flat tire, I had to drive my truck to work. On the way home from work, my truck started acting up again, jerking while accelerating. speedometer would go up however truck didn't move. I had to pull over quickly so I wouldn't be broken down in the traffic lane. I turned the ignition off and waited five minutes and started the truck up. I was able to make it home. At this time the engine soon light came on. I ran my scanner on my truck and code P0700 TCM was the only code showing. I had a Gmc dealer look at my truck and stated I would need a new transmission. I have done many months if not almost close to a year of research with results showing that transmission problems just what I was experiencing are a common problem with 2014-2019 chevy and Gmc / Silverado pickups with transmission 6L80. I dropped my truck off at another transmission shop just yesterday 3/3/24 and the results today were I need a new transmission. Torque converter issues. The shop stated that they repair / rebuild almost three chevy / gmc trucks like my truck a week with the same transmission problem. I still owe on my truck and shouldn't have to pay almost 6K for a transmission that is known to be an issue from the start of factory build. I own many older model gm / chevy vehicles and only had one other issue with one which also had a known recall issue.
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, there was no audible chime or alert heard. After driving and then restarting the vehicle there was still no audible sound from the electrical system. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who informed the contact that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact replaced the battery, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V301000 (Electrical System, Seat Belts) however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

Inside of car smelled like burnt electrical and crackled and then back window exploded due to short in the rear defroster [XXX] Rear Window Defroster Thermal Events GMC has indicated that there is no recall associated with this event. GMC has sent no recall or service notices to me regarding this issue and the vehicle had been at a GMC deal Jim Ellis GMC within the year. This incident caused glass to be injected into the passenger compartment causing a hazard INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The truck completely shut off while making a turn in town. I didn't have any control of the truck, steering or braking ability. In a attempted to restart the truck or regain steering and braking, I cycled the key to no avail. I then urgently tried putting it into neutral, and cycling the key again. The truck started and I regained control. In the 5-10 seconds that passed while the vehicle was out of control, the vehicle traveled over the curb and then onto the sidewalk. It is miraculous that I didn't cause an accident or cause injury to pedestrians. I was shaking. This event was the scariest thing that has ever happened to me in a vehicle. A blessing for sure. In not the clearest frame of mind, I drove the vehicle back to my home. It is parked and I won't drive it until it is repaired. Upon getting home and calming down, I googled this event. The Google search indicated that this scenario is very common in gmc trucks between 2014-17. The cause is apparently faulty battery cables and/or corroded grounding points. I do not understand why there isn't a recall or safety bulletin to inform vehicle owners of this issue. I could have easily killed someone. I passionately feel that action needs to be taken on this series of gmc trucks to prevent a deadly accident!
All power shuts off while driving. The transmission dis-engages, the power steering stops working and the infotainment system turns off. The power steering powers off even when sitting in a parking spot while everything else is on. I've owned this truck since 2019 and this has always been an issue, especially when taking a left through an intersection. I keep checking for recalls, but nothing shows up and I find that extremely hard to believe. I'm contacting you now because the issue has gotten worse, everyday worse.
When I turn the steering wheel, the ac turns off, lights turn off, the computer screen turns off, steering wheel gets hard and does a jerking movement. The truck turns off too and then suddenly turns on. This can cause a death. If this happens in a highway or a street where speed is high this can easily cause a death.. fortunately this has happened going at 30 mph and no one close at the time and also at a drive through fast food restaurant. It has not been confirmed by the dealer but I will soon have to take it. The only light that comes up is the StabiliTrak.. but it only lights up when it happens and then it goes away.
Truck loses power engine dies while driving after turning at slow speeds. Engine will restart after a few minutes like it never happened does not show any DTC codes or check engine lights. It is intermittent with no advance notice very dangerous to drive. Seems to be a common problem for all GM trucks and SUVS from 2014 - 2017
The electrical system has intermittent issues with connection to the battery due to the location of the ground connection from the battery. The ground connection is screwed into the under carriage (near wheel well front passenger side) and left exposed to the elements. Grit and grime build-up over time caused an interference with the connection. The safety issue is the vehicle lost power without warning and while driving causing the vehicle inoperable, including no power steering. Other symptoms include stabiltrak and park assist errors displayed while A/C & radio resets during intermittent power connectivity. Cleaning the ground connection wires & screw solved the immediate issue. This video explains it all, including where the issue is located and how I was able to fix the issue to restore power: https://youtu.be/KrSJJUUo9FU
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 mph with the defroster activated when they began to smell something seeming to be overheating. The contact heard a sudden pop sound and later noticed that the rearview window on the side had fractured. The dealer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that due to them already receiving a recall remedy for the failure they were unable to get the repair done again free of charge. The vehicle had been repaired for the glass to be repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
Mileage: 30,000
My truck lost all audio including radio, turn signals and seat belt warning chimes. I feel this is a major safety concern not having a seat belt warning as well as an open door alert. The dealership notified me there is not a recall on the 2015 model and I would be charged for any and all labor.
Rear defroster (with sliding rear window) thermal events with arcing and hissing, smoke smell present. Matches the same description as provided in document N192265660. GM will not cover my vehicle because it was not delivered to a dealer in any of the states listed in the document. There is evidence in the vehicle of thermal events, however GM wants me to pay $1000-$1500 for a new rear sliding window.
Power steering cut out instantly as I was driving.
Several instances in which power steering assist lapses at low speed. Several times lapses coupled with radio/ac going off. Two times the truck has died while backing into garage. I have narrowly missed hitting other cars while parking in various places. I have not taken the truck to a dealer or service center for this problem. It has not been inspected by manufacturer, police, insurance or others. Several different messages show up in different instances. Today I noticed “parking assist symbols not available.” Then the truck died.
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the warning message "Service Trailer Brake System" was displayed along with an audible warning chime although no trailer was being towed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure and no service repairs were performed; however, the failure recurred intermittently. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000.

My electrical failed i was hauling a trailer and i crashed into a car also the air didnt deploy we were traveling at 35mph my steering locked i couldnt aviod steering got real tight
I started the truck and did not have power steering. If this would have happened while driving it could have been very dangerous. Why is this not a factory recall?
When decelerating and turning left the car goes completely dead. First time I just about got killed on the highway. The other two times I knew to put it in neutral & crank the car. No steering no nothing. Days Chevrolet in Jasper, Gais trying to tell me there is NO RECALL on my serial number. I see there were a lot of them years ago. In addition to that my power steering occasionally goes out. The last time I was backing into my garage when I had to manually turn it. Hard to do for a woman.
When driving the truck it shuts off and then it turns back on. The stabilizer light goes on. It has happened many times while driving and also when backing up. I need to know any specific information why is it doing it, I have taken it to the dealership and they never have found the issue.
We recently noticed a persistent Trailer Braking Alert. When the Alert occurs it changes the center display and it plays an audible tone repeatedly. Both of these are a distraction to the driver. We do not normally pull a trailer, and when we do it is not one controlled by the trailer braking system. However this limits the vehicles usefulness since this would disable trailer braking of one were connected. This has been demonstrated to the dealer and we are awaiting resolution.
On 9/22/2020 a recall service was performed on my defroster/ power sliding rear window under N192265660. On 1/13/2022 I was driving down the road with the rear defroster on, a smell of burning plastic and a low hissing noise. I was in the process of pulling over to inspect this and the back window of my pickup burst, sending me swerving onto the side of the road. I booked an appointment with the dealer, they are telling me they cannot replace this since the recall was already serviced. Obviously the fix GM is putting into our vehicles is as dangerous as the original design. This needs to be remedied and GM needs to be held accountable, bursting rear windows can cause terrible accidents, luckily I am safe.
My back window just made a loud pop sound. I have a back window that had an electic sliding widow. Which means the back window is in 3 sections (driver side, middle sliding window, and passenger side). The driver side of the back window was completely shattered. It's hard to see from the outside but from the inside it is spider cracked everywhere. I believe that I had my rear defrost on at the same time. Nothing hit my window to cause this.
I had my rear defrost on and it started smoking on the rear drivers side window and smelled like something burning and I parked at a gas station a couple of minutes later. The rear window completely shattered. The glass stayed intact but my 6 year old son was sitting in the backseat and it scared him half to death. I looked up recalls and this is known issue with these vehicles sold in Canada. This just happened and it hasn't been looked at my anyone.
Truck will experience complete electrical failure while driving in motion at various speeds. Failure lasts between 5-10 seconds but causes severe difficulty as steering is affected. A web search reveals grounding issue as potential cause. Manufacturer has not notified me of this particular issue and or any recall effort and I know of no existing recall effort for this issue.
Trailer Brake system warning continues to pop up on my dash along with the chimes. Not sure if this will affect my braking or not, but I pull a 32' camper and am continually concerned about this warning. It happens randomly not just when towing a camper. It has been in to a GMC dealer and they say nothing can be done about it due to no recalls.
Power Steering difficult, truck ekectrical components cut on and off. Usually happens when turning. 3 near misses in vehicular crash
Incident has happened multiple time. When put on the computer to see if problem, does not show anything. Incident: 1)Driving on highway and truck completely loses power and electrical notification come on. Have limited power and electrical notification stayed on continually. Had to take in for repair. This happened May of 2018. 2)While driving on highway, used signal to change lanes and lost engine power. Had some electrical flickers and steering issue. Multiple times in last 6 months, sporadic. 3)When signaling and turning steering wheel, lost engine power. Also had problems with electrical/computer issues. Multiple times in last 6 months, sporadic 4)When slowing down, signaling, and turning steering wheel, after turn completed and start accelerating, transmission seem to be missing. This issue is sporadic and has been doing this since I have had the vehicle new. All these incidents have happened sporadically, with not pre-warning indicators and when having the truck check on the computer, with the exception of (#1) showed no issues.
At times my vehicle will lose power steering, turns off stabilizer traction control light comes on.There is no warning and does this more at low speed turning.you can't turn the steering wheel when this happens and the breaks hardly work.I have 30,000 miles on vehicle I had this vehicle towed to dealership in 2016 they charged me diagnosed but didn't tell me anything more it's only been to the shop for recalls I do my own maintenance
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving at low speeds, there was a reduction in the power steering assist. The stability track and abs warning lights were illuminated. The electronic power assist became inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact stated the failure was like NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V586000 (Steering). The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.

The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the transmission failed to operate as designed causing the vehicle to sputter and not properly accelerate. Also, the digital speedometer display would not display properly due to a faulty radio. Additionally, the driver’s side headlight failed to properly illuminate due to moisture build-up inside the headlight assembly. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. There was no service performed on the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,000.

Power steering goes out and at time turn truck power off whenever i attempt a slow tight turn like backing into my driveway or making tight turns going into parking lots and/or spaces. Most recently, when attempting a u-turn at a busy intersection, power steering went out and engine died. I had to coast to the side to avoid moving traffic. Each time this issue happens i hear 3 dings all my dash & screen lights flash off then on with clicking noises. Dash info changes from speedometer to radio setting. If i look at screen quickly enough when this happens i would sometimes read “rear parking assist unavailable” or something like that. If air conditioning is on it would turn off then on. Doors will unlock then lock, all this happening simaltaneously while attempting to make a turn
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle loss motive power with the service stabilitrak warning light illuminated. The vehicle was restarted and operated as intended. The dealer was contacted and the contact was informed that the VIN was not under recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 78,000.

I was towing a camper down Rt 422 in Butler, PA in my GMC truck when it suddenly caught fire. My wife was following me and alerted me to pull over as quickly as possible. I had no brakes and the gear shifter went straight up without shifting. The doors would also not open while the truck was filling with smoke. I got out using the manual unlock knob and am lucky to be alive. We had about one minute to try to extinguish the flames before it fully engulfed both my truck and camper. I filed a complaint with GMC. By what I am reading online there are many instances of fires and GMC does not seem to provide assistance. This is very unnerving and scary to say the least. I am sad and angry for this situation. This happened through no fault of my own and I lost absolutely everything. I was in the middle of moving to start a new job and lost many work items in my truck as well. I had to delay my start date for work. Now I am responsible for deductables, insurance increases and other items not covered by my insurance. Now I have to buy a new vehicle and camper but what will GMC do to help me? Probably nothing.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE STREETS, TRUCK LOSES ALL ELECTRICAL POWER, LOSES POWER STEERING,RADIO, GAUGE CLUSTER POWER AND ENGINE DIES. HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES TODAY. IT IMMEDIATELY ALL COMES BACK ON(SO FAR) BUT COULD DEFINITELY BE A SAFETY CONCERN IF THE CONDITIONS WERE RIGHT.
REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER STARTED SMOKING AND CREATED A BURNING PLASTIC SMELL. AFTER TURNING OFF THE REAR DEFROSTER THE REAR WINDOW EXPLODED/SHATTERED IN PLACE. I SEE THERE IS A RECALL IN CANADA, BUT NOT HERE. THIS IS HAPPENING HERE AND I HAVE READ OF MANY OTHERS WITH SAME ISSUE. FIRE AND BROKEN GLASS IS NOT SAFE AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED

VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY ON THE STREET, PARKED. I ENTERED IT, AND TURNED ON MY FRONT AND REAR DEFROSTERS WITH THE SETTING ON "HI." I TURNED AROUND AND VERIFIED THAT MY VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN HIT NOR WAS ANY DAMAGE AT ALL APPARENT TO ME. AT SOME POINT AS I SAT THERE WITH THE CAR IDLED AND THE HEATED AIR REACHING ITS MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE, I BEGAN TO SMELL SOME FOUL SMELL IN THE CAB THAT I BELIEVED WAS EXHAUST ENTERING THE CABIN. I ROLLED DOWN THE WINDOW. AS I BRUSHED THE SNOW FROM THE FRONT AND BEGAN TO DRIVE AWAY, I HEARD A NOISE THAT I BELIEVED WAS THE SNOW FALLING FROM THE ROOF. HOWEVER, AS I ROLLED AWAY, I NOTICED A LOUDER-THAN-NORMAL CABIN. UPON LOOKING BEHIND ME, I NOTICED THE REAR RIGHT WINDOW WITHIN THE SLIDING REAR CABIN WINDOW HAD BLOWN OUT. UPON INSPECTING THE AREA, I NOTICED THAT NO SNOW OR WATER WAS PRESENT INSIDE. GIVEN THAT WE HAD RECEIVED A LOT OF SNOW THE PREVIOUS EVENING THROUGH THE MORNING, HAD THE DAMAGE OCCURRED THROUGHOUT THE EVENING OR EARLY MORNING, THERE WOULD'VE BEEN MOISTURE PRESENT.

SUPPOSEDLY THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN FIXED FOR THE RECALL, HOWEVER, IF I AM DRIVING AS LOW SPEEDS LIKE IN A PARKING LOT, THE ABS WILL KICK IN CAUSING ME TO NOT COME TO A STOP WHEN NEEDED. I HAVE ALMOST HIT SEVERAL VEHICLES DUE TO THIS ISSUE. I HAVE ISSUES WITH THE RADIO WORKING, SPECIFICALLY BEING ABLE TO ADJUST THE SOUND LEVEL. I HAVE ISSUES WITH THE MIRRORS BEING ABLE TO MOVE LIKE THEY SHOULD. BOTH OF THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES ARE PERMANENT, IT DOES NOT MATTER IF I AM PARKED OR DRIVING, THEY DO NOT WORK AT ALL. THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST VEHICLE I HAVE EVER PURCHASED. THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN OCCURRING FOR YEARS AND THERE WAS NO CHANGE WHEN IT WAS BROUGHT IN FOR THE RECALL. THE MOST RECENT ISSUE IS NOW MY EVAP SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE FIXED. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT THAT WILL COST TO FIX ON A VEHICLE THAT ONLY HAS 100,000 MILES ON IT. CAN'T WAIT TO GET THAT BILL!
THE INFORMATION 8 INCH SCREEN CUTS IN AND OUT CAUSING DRIVER DISTRACTION REACTS WIRH INSTERMENT CLUSTER ALSO AT NIGHT IT IS MOST DANGEROUS DUE TO SCREEN CHANGING PRIGHNES AND FEATURE AT ANY TIME CAUSING DRIVER TO LOOK AWAY FROM THE ROAD SCREEN GET REAL BRIGHT ON ITS OWN AND DIMS TO ANOTHER SCREEN ON ITS OWN

AFTER ONLINE RESEARCH, I DISCOVERED THE GM RECALL #N192220470 RELATED TO 159,000 CANADIAN VEHICLES. MY SITUATION MATCHED THE DESCRIPTION OF THIS RECALL EXACTLY, BUT ACCORDING TO GM, MY VIN# IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. MY VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT MY LOCAL CHEVY/GMC DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR, BUT THEY DON'T SEEM TO HAVE MUCH CONCERN ABOUT THE SAFETY FAILURE AND TOLD ME THE REPAIR IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. IN 2014 THE GENERAL MOTORS RECALL NUMBER 14315 ADDRESSED THIS ISSUE BUT GM STATES MY VIN NUMBER DOES NOT INCLUDED THE VEHICLES AFFECTED EVEN THOUGH ITS EXACTLY AS THEY DESCRIBE IN THE RECALL CAMPAIGN IN 2014. THEY WANT ME TO PAY FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC AND REPAIR DESPITE IT BEING A SAFETY ISSUE AND A RECALL THEY ADDRESSED IN THE PAST.

TOUCHSCREEN INTERFACE WILL RANDOMLY SELECT AND CHANGE SETTINGS ANYTHING FROM A RADIO STATION TO PASSIVE LOCK SAFETY SETTINGS. THIS WILL HAPPEN WHENEVER THERE IS A KEY IN THE IGNITION AND THE SCREEN IS ACTIVE. HAPPENS ALL THE TIME AND IS REPEATABLE. TOUCHSCREEN CONTROLS MOST SETTINGS FOR THE VEHICLE.

ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS ALL SOUNDS FROM DOOR CHIME, RADIO, ONSTAR, ETC. HAVE FAILED. FURTHER THE PAINT IS BEGINNING TO BLISTER FROM UNDERNEATH. GM IS DENYING BOTH PROBLEMS EXIST. GM SAYS THE PAINT ISSUE IS DUE TO APPLICATION OF AN EXTREME HEAT SOURCE. ARIZONA IS HOT, BUT NOT THAT HOT. THE SOUND ISSUE IS A SAFETY HAZARD. THE PAINT ISSUE IS TYPICAL CORPORATE DENIAL OF LEGITIMATE CLAIMS.

THE BULBS IN THE TAIL LIGHTS CORRODE IN PLACE DUE TO EXCESS ROAD GRIME (SALT, SAND, ETC.) BEING SPLASHED UP ON THEM. THIS CAUSES THEM TO BURN OUT PREMATURELY AND REMOVAL IS IMPOSSIBLE DUE TO THE CORROSION OF THE BULB INTO THE SOCKET. THIS RESULTS IN HAVING TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE WIRING HARNESS. ACCORDING TO MY LOCAL GMC DEALERSHIP (WEST HERR), THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT GM ISN'T COVERING. SO, I HAD TO PAY FOR A NEW WIRING HARNESS OUT OF POCKET IN ORDER TO REPLACE ONE OF THE TAIL LIGHT BULBS.

WHEN MAKING SLIGHT LEFT TURNS, THE TRUCK WOULD FLASH STABILITRAK ON THE DISPLAY AND THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD AUTOMATICALLY PULL OUT OF MY HANDS AND MAKE THE WHEELS STRAIGHTEN UP. THE RADIO WOULD THEN GO DEAD AND THEN 5 TO 10 SECONDS LATER THE ENTIRE TRUCK WOULD TURN OFF. THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THIS HAPPENED ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS WITH NO OTHER WARNINGS. I CONTACTED GMC AND THEY HAVE NOT GIVEN ME ANY TYPE OF ANSWER OR ASSISTANCE.

ROOF ANTENNA LEAKING AFTER 2.5 YEARS THE ROOF MOUNT ANTENNA FOR XM RADIO STARTED LEAKING INTO HEADLINER CAUSES RADIO TO GET INTERMITTENT SIGNAL. LEAK TRAVELS DOWN DRIVER SIDE PILLAR INTO DASH BOARD WHICH WILL CAUSE ELECTRICAL SHORTING AND FAILURE. THIS PROBLEM IS DUE TO A FAULTY DESIGN OF THE ANTENNA. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE REGARDING THIS PROBLEM. DEALER REFUSED TO REPLACE AT THERE EXPENSE. CONTACTED GM WHO ALSO REFUSED TO REPLACE IT. THIS WAS A $60,000 TRUCK LESS THAN 3YRS OLD. IT GOT MY ATTENTION BECAUSE I USE XM RADIO AND LOST RECEPTION. THERE MUST BE MANY MORE WITH THIS PROBLEM WHO DON'T EVEN KNOW IT BECAUSE THEY DON'T USE XM RADIO. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM HAVING A LEAK TRAVELING DOWN INTO DASHBOARD WHAT ELSE IS AFFECTED AIR BAGS, LIGHTS, BRAKES ETC. THE DESIGN OF THIS IS AWFUL GMC IS EXTREMELY NEGLIGENT NOT RECALLING ON THIS PROBLEM

TRUCK HAS 3 PROBLEMS THAT CAN PUT MY FAMILY'S LIFE IN DANGER. 1- SOMETIMES OUT OF NOWHERE AT LOW SPEEDS WHEN YOU TURN THE STEERING WHEEL TO MAKE A LEFT OR RIGHT TURN THE 'STABILITRAC' LIGHT FLASHES IN THE SCREEN AND LOCKS AND WON'T LET YOU TURN THE STEERING WHEEL.AT THIS POINT YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OF THE STEERING WHEEL, IT LOCKS AND BOUNCES BACK AT YOU AND IF YOU KEEP TRYING TO TURN IT, THE ENGINE CUTS OFF ALL POWER AND IT STALLS, JUST DIES. I ALMOST GOT READ ENDED A COUPLE OF TIMES ALREADY DUE TO THIS PROBLEM. JUST THIS MORNING I WAS MAKING A RIGHT ONTO A LOCAL MCDONALD'S AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND THE ENGINE DIED ON ME. I HAD TO QUICKLY TURN IT ON AGAIN AND KEEP GOING.ANOTHER TIME IT HAPPEN AS I WAS MERGING INTO TRAFFIC. VERY SCARY! PROBLEM NUMBER TWO, I THINK ITS JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS ON ME ON HIGH SPEEDS. SOMETIMES WHEN I'M ON THE FREEWAY, THE SAME CHIMES COME ON WHEN I STEP ON THE BRAKES, THE CENTER SCREENS GOES BLACK, AND THE SAME 'STABILITRAC' WARNING COMES ON THE SMALLER SCREEN BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL. I'M AFRAID TO TAKE IT ON A WINDING ROAD FOR FEAR THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WILL LOCK ON ME CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. 3- SERVICE BRAKE CONTROLLER SIGN AND CHIMES COME ON ANT WON'T GO AWAY. IT JUS KEEPS ON POPPING ON AND ON AND ON AND THEY GO AWAY WHEN YOU TURN OFF THE TRUCK, AND COME ON AGAIN MONTHS OR WEEKS LATER. I DID HAVE IT CHECKED AT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP.THEY TESTED IT, SOLD ME NEW GROUND AND HOT WIRES. IT WAS GOOD FOR ABOUT 4 WEEKS BEFORE THE SAME PROBLEMS CAME BACK AGAIN. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON SOME OF THE FORUMS AND YOU TUBE VIDEOS AND BY FAR I'M THE ONLY ONE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. VERY AFRAID TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.

VEHICLE HAD A FIRE STARTING IN THE DASHBOARD AREA BEHIND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER I THINK. IT TOOK LESS THAN 15 MINUTES FROM THE SMELL OF AND ISSUE TO FLAMES VISIBLE. I NOTICED THE GAUGES BECOMING ERRATIC THAN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WITH WHAT FELT LIKE THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE KICKING IN AND OUT FOLLOWED BY THE MOTOR RUNNING POORLY. I PULLED OVER, TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AS THE SMOKE STARTED. THAN DIALED 911.. TROOPER WAS THERE IN 6 MINUTES WITH FIRE DEPARTMENT SHORTLY AFTER. I WAS ON A HIGHWAY TRAVELING ABOUT 70 MPH. THERE WERE QUITE A FEW POTHOLES AS THIS WAS WINTER TIME. LIGHTS WERE ON, CRUISE WAS ON, HEATED SEATS AND STEERING WHEEL WERE ON, RADIO WAS ON, PHONE AND LAPTOP WERE CHARGING ( LAPTOP UTILIZING 110 OUTLET IN TRUCK).

HEADLIGHT ON THE 2015 GMC SIERRA 1500 SLT ARE TERRIBLE. THEY ARE THE WORST OF ANY VEHICLE I'VE DRIVEN. THE PROBLEM STEMS FROM THE POORLY DESIGNED REFLECTOR FOR THE HALOGEN BULB.
MY VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH A DRIVER ALERT SYSTEM WHICH NOTIFY THE DRIVER IF THE VEHICLE STRAYS OUT OF ITS LANE OR IF IT APPROACHED STOPPED TRAFFIC. THIS SYSTEM ALERTS THE DRIVER BY EITHER PLAYING AN AUDIBLE TONE OR BY VIBRATING THE SEAT. THE VIBRATION MOTORS IN THE SEAT OF MY VEHICLE HAVE BROKEN THREE TIMES DUE TO A PINCHED WIRE DUE TO GM'S POOR DESIGN. WHEN THE MOTOR BREAKS, A ERROR IS DISPLAYED SAYING TO SERVICE THE DRIVER ALERT SYSTEM. THIS OCCURRED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND WHEN IT WAS MOVING.

MARCH 2017, AT 10,881 MILES I ACCELERATED TO PASS A CAR, LOST POWER, LIKE IT SUDDENLY WENT INTO NEUTRAL. I TRIED SEVERAL GEARS, MULTIPLE TIMES, BEFORE BEING ABLE TO FINALLY GET THE MANUAL GEAR TO GET ME HOME.LOCAL DEALERSHIP CLEANED UP THE TRANSMISSION OF BROKEN METAL PARTS. 2,500 MILES LATER, I TRIED TO ACCELERATE AFTER TURNING INTO A LONG DRIVEWAY, AGAIN NO POWER. I TRIED SEVERAL GEARS AS BEFORE AND THE MANUAL GEAR GOT ME TO THE HOUSE.THE ENGINE WAS WORKING AND RPMS REVVED, AND JUST LIKE BEFORE, FELT LIKE IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. DEALERSHIP WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO TRY TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEY EVEN CHECKED MY TRUCK FOR THE GM RECALL #14192, NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID # 14V374000, BECAUSE IT WAS HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. I THINK THAT THE BROKEN PARTS FOUND THE FIRST TIME WAS AN INCIDENTAL FINDING DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED TWICE. DURING ALL THIS THERE HAS BEEN SMALL ELECTRICAL ISSUES IE: WEAK SOUNDING BUZZERS WHEN I OPEN THE DOOR, INTERNAL LIGHTS EITHER STAYING ON OR NOT COMING ON AT ALL, AND INTERMITTENT ISSUES WITH REMOTE START. MY HUSBAND BOUGHT THIS TRUCK BRAND NEW IN MARCH 2016, 6 WEEKS BEFORE HE DIED, SO THIS TRUCK HAS A LOT OF SENTIMENT, HOWEVER, I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT THIS TRUCK IS UNSAFE. THE FEAR OF BEING T-BONED IN AN INTERSECTION, OR SUDDENLY LOSING POWER IN 70MPH TRAFFIC IS TERRIFYING! I AM MOVING FROM SC TO WYOMING IN 6 WEEKS AND AM SCARED TO DEATH I AM GOING TO HAVE PROBLEMS. I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO THE GM COMPLAINT DEPT. SERVICE CASE # 83120854028. THE ONLY PAPERWORK I HAVE ARE THE SERVICE RECORDS FROM THE LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP.

AS WELL AS HAVING VERY POOR VISABILITY, THE HAEDLIGHT BULBS ON MY TRUCK HAVE BLOWN OUT 5 TIMES IN ONLY TWO YEARS. THERE IS OBVIUOSLY SOMETHING WRONG WITH SOMETHING BESIDES THE BULBS.I AM GOING BROKE REPLACING THEM. I CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD COST ME 115.00 AN HOUR JUST TO LOOK AT THE TRUCK. I WOULD RATHER GIVE THE TRUCK BACK, THAN PAY TO HAVE A PROBLAM THAT IS OBVIOUSLY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT, FIXED. THE LIGHTS HAVE WENT OUT BOTH WHILE MOVING, AND STATIONARY.

I WAS RIDING ON THE FREEWAY AND SOMEONE FLAGGED ME DOWN AND SAID YOU CAR IS ON FIRE. THE FIRE WAS BETWEEN THE CAB AND THE BED OF THE TRUCK ON 3/22/2017. ON 4/11/2017 IS BEGAN TO SMELL OF SMOKE WHENEVER I CRANK. THE SMELL IS COMING THROUGH THE VENTS. ALSO THE VEHICLE WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION BECAUSE OF THE EMISSIONS FOR THE PAST 4 MONTHS. I AM PAYING A NOTE ON THIS VEHICLE MONTHLY AND AM NOT ABLE TO USE IT. I CAN'T GET IT INSPECTED AND THE REGISTRATION IS OUT THEREFORE I CANNOT DRIVE IT.

HAS HAD AN ISSUE WITH ACCESSORIES FLASHING OFF AND BACK ON. REPORTED IT TO A GMC DEALER AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE BUT SAID THAT THE BATTERY WAS BAD AND MOST LIKELY WHAT WAS CAUSING IT. IT DID FINE FOR A WHILE THEN BEGAN DOING IT AGAIN. THIS TIME HOWEVER IT CAUSED A LOSS IN POWER STEERING AND I ENDED UP IN THE DITCH. LATER IT DID IT IN A PARKING LOT AND WAS ABLE TO VIDEO TAPE IT. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND SHOWED THEM THE VIDEO. THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE FOR 4 DAYS WHILE I WAS PAYING FOR A RENTAL BECAUSE MINE WASN'T SAFE TO DRIVE. ON THE FOURTH DAY I PROVIDED THEM WITH A SERVICE BULLETIN I FOUND THAT ADDRESSED THE ISSUE AS BEING A FLUCTUATION IN POWER AND FOR THEM TO CHECK THE CABLES AND DO A DROP LOAD TEST. THEY DID AND IT FAILED. I THEN HAD TO PAY 376.00 TO REPLACE THEM PLUS HAVING TO PAY FOR A RENTAL AFTER ASKING FOR A LOANER. THIS IS A PROBLEM A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING. JUST A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH MAKES THAT PLAIN. GM ISN'T WANTING TO ADMIT IT. I HAVE THE VIDEO BUT I DON'T THINK IT WILL ALLOW ME TO UPLOAD IT TO THE FORM.

I PURCHASED MY FIRST NEW VEHICLE IN OCT OF 2015. I'VE OWNED 4 VEHICLES SINCE I'VE HAD MY LICENSE, 2 DODGES AND 2 BMWS. I CHOSE A TRUCK I'VE DREAMED OF HAVING SINCE I WAS 16. I'M CURRENTLY 28. I CHOSE THE SIERRA DENALI. NOT ONLY WAS THIS MY FIRST NEW VEHICLE BUT THIS WAS MY FIRST TRUCK AND MY FIRST GM PRODUCT OF MY LIFE. NOW I'M TEETERING ON IT BEING MY LAST. THROUGH THE 14 MONTHS I'VE OWNED THE VEHICLE (SINCE 4 MILES) I'VE HAD NUMEROUS ISSUES. MY FRONT DIFFERENTIAL HAS BEEN REBUILT NOT ONCE BUT TWICE. MY TRUCK HAS 45K ON IT. IT HAS NEVER TOWED HAULED OR OTHER WISE PERFORMED A TASK REQUIRING IT'S POWER OTHER THAN NORMAL DRIVING. IT HAS BEEN BABIED. CLEANED WASHED OIL CHANGED TIRES ROTATED AND 93 OCTANE FILL UPS. AMONGST OTHER ISSUES WERE THE INFOTAINMENT CENTER FREEZING. CVS AXLE SHAFTS PERFORMING ERRATIC ALONG WITH BUCKING SLAMMING AND NOISES THROUGH THE POWER TRAIN. A RANDOM LEAK IN THE LOWER OIL PAN THAT THE DEALER SAID WAS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT THEY WERE AWARE OF. A AIRBAG SOFTWARE SAFETY RECALL AND A SHIFTING DRIVER SEAT THAT TENDS TO MOVE A BIT DURING CORNERING. NOW TO TOP ALL OF THOSE ISSUES OFF IN THOSE 14 MONTHS I NOW HAVE A LEAK THE EXTENDS OUT FROM THE EDGE ABOUT 5 INCHES FROM THE REAR WINDSHIELD ALL THE WAY FROM THE DRIVER SIDE TO PASSENGER SIDE. I'M NOT IN BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY. I WAS TOLD 100 DOLLARS AND IT WILL BE FIXED. IT SHOULDN'T HAVE TO BE FIXED. NONE OF IT SHOULD HAVE. I HAVE HAD LESS ISSUES IN ALL 4 OF MY LAST VEHICLES PUT TOGETHER THAN THIS 1 VEHICLE I HAVE OWNED FOR 14 MONTHS AND I BOUGHT IT NEW. THIS HAS BEEN A BIG LET DOWN. A DISAPPOINTMENT 12 YEARS IN THE MAKING APPARENTLY. ONE THAT HAS MORE THAN RUINED MY DAY. I HONESTLY DON'T WANT THIS TRUCK. IT'S SCARRED FOR LIFE. THAT'S OBVIOUS AND NOT REVERSIBLE. BUT NOW I'M UNDER WATER ON A LOAN FOR A TRUCK THAT'S NOT WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN SCRAP METAL. THAT'S NEITHER RIGHT NOR FAIR. *TR
ON TUESDAY, DECEMBER 20TH 2016 AT APPROXIMATELY 7:15PM WHILE DRIVING SOUTH ON NEW RIVER ROAD IN LINCOLN RI I TRIED TO MAKE A LEFT TURN ONTO A SIDE STREET. WHEN I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL LEFT IT WAS SNATCHED OUT OF MY HANDS AND THE STEERING WHEEL AUTOMATICALLY TURNED BACK TO CENTER IT SELF. I COULD NOT MANEUVER THE VEHICLE AS IT ROLLED UP ONTO THE SIDEWALK WHERE I HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO FORCE THE VEHICLE FROM ROLLING INTO A TREE. THE VEHICLE DIC DISPLAYED "PARK ASSIST" AND AFTERWARDS THE VEHICLE WENT COMPLETELY DEAD...NO LIGHTS OR SOUNDS WHEN I TRIED TURNING THE KEY TO RESTART IT. LIFTED UP THE HOOD AND ALL THE ELECTRONICS CAME BACK ON AND VEHICLE STARTED. DIC PROMPT DISPLAYED "OPEN AND THEN CLOSE THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW" HAD VEHICLE TAKEN TO DEALER FOR SERVICE. *TR

THE INFOTAINMENT SCREEN IS VERY DISTRACTING WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. REGARDLESS OF THE SYSTEM DISPLAYED, (RADIO, PHONE, OR JUST THE CLOCK/OFF SCREEN), THE LIGHTING IS TOO BRIGHT. THIS IS EXTREMELY DISTRACTING TO THE DRIVER. THE DASH LIGHT DIMMER CONTROL SWITCH WORKS THE DASH LIGHTS AND THE INFOTAINMENT SCREEN. IF ONE WERE TO DIM THE DASH LIGHTS SO THAT THE INFOTAINMENT LIGHT IS LOW ENOUGH TO BE ACCEPTABLE, THEN THE DASH LIGHTS ARE TOO LOW TO BE EFFECTIVE AND USED. THE INFOTAINMENT SCREEN SHOULD HAVE A SEPARATE REMOTE SWITCH KNOB TO CONTROL JUST THE INFOTAINMENT SCREEN. I CONTACTED THE GMC CUSTOMER SERVICE #, AND THEY CONFIRMED THAT THIS IS THE WAY IT IS DESIGNED, AND COULD NOT BE ALTERED OR ADJUSTED. CLARIFICATION ON THE DATE OF INCIDENT AND MILEAGE ABOVE, AS THIS HAS OCCUERED SINCE DAY OF PURCHASE.

I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2015 GMC SIERRA K1500 SLT. I SELECTED THE SLT FOR THE PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS WHICH ARE NOT OFFERED ON THE LOWER TRIMS FOR IMPROVED LIGHTING. HOWEVER, THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE EXTREMELY POOR ILLUMINATION (CANNOT SEE OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, VERY DIM, POOR PROJECTION IN FRONT) IN LOW OR HIGH BEAM. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE THE WORST ON ANY VEHICLE THAT I HAVE OWNED OVER THE PAST 35 YEARS. I ALMOST HIT A DEER ON THE ROAD AT NIGHT, DRIVING 35 MPH, BECAUSE THE DEER COULD NOT BE SEEN IN THE VISIBLE ARC OF THE LOW BEAMS UNTIL TOO LATE. THE DEER WAS STANDING ON THE ROAD FOG LINE. I LOCATED A GM DOCUMENT ON SEVERAL TRUCK FORUMS CONCERNING THIS ISSUE. ORIGINAL DOCUMENT # 4093100, PIT5374 (2/27/2015) AND FOLLOWUP DOCUMENT # 4109395, PIT5374A (3/9/2015).

DURING NIGHT OPERATION WITH THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ADJUSTED TO PROPER BRIGHTNESS THE CENTER CONSOLE LIGHTS AND MOST NOTABLY, THE INTELLILINK SCREEN ARE DANGEROUSLY BRIGHT. THE INTELLILINK SCREEN DOES NOT HAVE AN INDEPENDENT BRIGHTNESS CONTROL FROM THE DIMMER. WHEN SET TO OFF IN AN ATTEMPT TO MITIGATE THE PROBLEM, THE INTELLILINK SCREEN REACTIVATES WITH SUBSYSTEM ADJUSTMENT, E.G. TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT, ABSOLUTELY DESTROYING NIGHT VISION OF THE DRIVER. IF ADJUSTING THE BRIGHTNESS LEVEL TO ACCEPTABLE FOR THE CENTER CONSOLE LIGHTING AND INTELLILINK THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IS SO DIM THAT IT REQUIRES UNSAFE LEVELS OF DRIVER ATTENTION TO PROCESS THE DIMLY LIT INFORMATION. DEALER VERIFIED ISSUE ON TWO SERVICE VISITS BUT UNABLE TO CORRECT PER MANUFACTURER. SAFETY COMPLAINT REGISTERED BY ME WITH GMC INFOTAINMENT CUSTOMER SUPPORT. *TR
