The GMC Sierra 1500 started a knocking sound. The collapsed lifter on a AFM cylinder bent a push rod which led to cam failure. Metal fragments are throughout the oil system.
While driving the vehicle at approximately 40MPH the motor made a tapping sound, I was able to pull into a parking lot and have the vehicle towed to the dealer. The dealer told me that the vehicle was out of warranty and appeared that under initial inspection the would have to rebuild the motor due to a lifter failure at the estimated cost of $18,000. I had the vehicle towed to a reputable repair shop and after the did a tear down to the small block they determined a bent push rod and broken lifter, all pushrods and AFM lifters were replaced at the cost of $10,754. dollars as invoice shows. The issue occurred again on 10/25/25 causing catastrophic failure that will cost me a complete engine replacement.
This occurred 5+ years ago. Coming home one night I had a sudden loss of power with the truck and barely made it home. Was able to limp the truck to the dealership the next day and was told that one side of the engines lifters had failed. Prior to the failure I had noticed a ticking sound coming from the engine that was becoming increasingly more prominent. It was several thousand dollars to repair. Fortunately the failure occurred near home, not on the freeway where I could have been dodging cars while trying to limp the truck to the shoulder. Some online research while the repair was being done revealed that several other owners with the 6.2L engine had the same problem. When I mentioned it to the dealer the response was that they had no bulletins from GM on the issue and I was stuck with the bill. Got the same response a year or two later when the torque converter on the transmission went out. The reason I am reporting it now is I saw that GM is recalling 6.2L vehicles with lifter issues but not back to 2015 even though the issue appears to go back farther than that. They claim it's limited to a specific run of engines for the recall. They have been having various lifter problems for many years that have put drivers in danger when they fail but refuse to acknowledge it. As for the repair they made to the engine I've driven another 70 K miles and the ticking has started again. I fear another failure. Please note that the date previously given for the incident is my best guess.
Lifter and camshaft failed
I have owned 4 of these trucks in my lifetime ranging from 2007-2015 all equipped with the same drivetrain. 5.3l engine and 6l80 transmissions. All have had the same failures. The engine afm system particularly the lifters fail which in turn destroys the camshaft and destroys the engine. More importantly the transmission torque converter fails sending debris through the whole system causing a sudden loss of drive. This happened while driving down the road and was a safety concern for myself and others. This time it costed me $6500 to replace the transmission. All of the trucks I have owned experianced the same failures how is this not a problem?
At low speeds when applying the brake, whether in a turn or traffic, the vehicle will shut off completely. This has happened multiple times and has almost caused accidents on a few occasions. It has also happened while just driving down the road, the entire truck lost power and then came back, the windshield wipers came on as well.
With all the GM engine problems being recalled, the known issue witht he AFM/DOD on all the models 2013 and up on 5.3L and 6.2L engines should have been recalled. The valves are known to collapse and nending push rods, causing damage to the cam shaft. This can cause ht eengine not to run. The symptoms and possible icidents include the same as the current recall NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000. My engine has been repaired twice now due to this AFM/DOD issue. I have all the paperwork from GM dealer that repaired it. I will upload the first repair, I need to scan the second repair. The engine is now making the ticking valve sound ans the vehicle is services regularly. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? AFM/DOD valves collapse causing enegine damage. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Lack of power while driving, loud engine knock Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, by the dealer Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Insepcted by the dealer, and only the damaged parts replaced, not all the valves that can still collapse. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning, engine light came on due to misfire on both incidents.

Motor blew up while driving down the road. Had to replace motor on 08/23/2023 at about 116,000 miles. Left me and my family stranded in the middle of no where. Was going around 60 miles an hour and when passing someone got up to 71 mph and then motor blown push rod bent. Transmission issues. Hesitation when switching from park to drive/ reverse. Takes at least 40 seconds and when you accelerate it will jerk so hard. Will lunge forward very sudden and sometimes even when coming to a stop at a stop sign. This happens almost every day.
In the fall of 2023 my 6.2L V8 with only 107,565 well maintained Miles completely seized up and shut off without any warning lights or other indications of failure. I was going up a steep hill and luckily I was able to get to the side of the road by coasting backwards to a stop and fortunately no one else behind me at the time. I did not get my truck back until late spring of 2024. I paid over $13k out of pocket to replace the engine because of this issue that is known to many other GM truck owners. Prior to catastrophic engine failure I’ve had multiple services including replacement of torque converters which would cause the truck to shake violently when shifting along with violent shifts in the 8 speed transmission and at times the feeling of being rear ended when slowing down or coming to a stop which GM claims to be “normal operation”. The engine failure was never investigated by any other parties but was looked at by the dealership service department. Both violent shifts and torque converter shutter were also confirmed by the dealer but only fixed with what I consider to be temporary remedies.
There is a known defect by other consumers with the same year/make/model as mine that causes the radiator to leak. I replaced the original radiator about a year ago with a new GM radiator (84207654) and it’s now leaking as well.
Purchased this vehicle on 06/29/2023 from Robideaux Motors in Coeur d Alene ID. with 81,397 mile on the odometer. On 01/05/2024 the 6.2L engine with 84,109 miles, started having a ticking sound after starting it at my son's house two miles from home. I called the dealer and was told to bring it in for diagnosis by a tech. While driving the truck to the dealer the ticking got worse and motor started to shudder and the check engine light came on. Cause was a misfire on cylinder 4 due to bent push rod and failed lifter. Replaced lifter bank 2 with new push rod. Total cost was $2,852.74 (have invoice). After many calls and letters to my extended warranty company, they finally paid $1688.54 of the total cost. On 08/29/2024 the same ticking sound started again as well as the shudder and check engine light. I had it towed back to Robideaux Motors and was told it was a misfire on cylinder 6 due to lifter failure. Robideaux Motors did repair under their repair warranty. I know that this vehicle is not included in class action suit, due to the year. I feel this to be a continuing problem with the GM 6.2 and 5.3L motors encompassing many model years. Just wanted to document that the number of years covered in the law suit should be expanded.
Truck is equipped with AFM and the lifters failed causing a no -power situation. First happens at 57,000 miles then again at 82,000 miles. Not only was this a dangerous situation, but also a very expensive situation. GM knows these are defective and should have been recalled and repaired on their dime, not mine. Pictures of bill included are only of the first repair. Second repair pictures are available upon request.
Lifter failure cylinder 1 at 82458 should be a recall
The motor goes into a V4 to v6 to v8 Mode on its own .. in which it makes the lifters & pistons change to cause problems with the motor
Had to have transmission replaced and engine work (lifters and cam) on a GM truck with 100,000 miles on it. Cost $8,000. Was told by both mechanics that they've seen many of this same issue with this same year truck for GM.
Had two lifters collapse and fail. Replaced transmission twice due to torque converter failure
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while his daughter was driving approximately 25 MPH, the vehicle started vibrating violently. The contact stated that his daughter reported seeing several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was stopped and towed to a dealer. The dealer diagnosed and determined that the rod bearings were damaged and caused damages to the lifters. The contact was informed that the rod bearings and lifters needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to Technical Service Bulletin: 20-NA-038 (Engine). The failure mileage was approximately 43,000.

I would like to bring to your attention an alarming incident that occurred on January 3, 2024, with my truck. While accelerating onto the highway, the engine and drivetrain failed suddenly, posing a significant safety risk. The failure left the engine incapable of functioning properly, which could have resulted in a catastrophic accident. Seeking answers about the cause of this dangerous malfunction, I promptly arranged for an inspection by RNZ Concepts. After evaluation, they suspected a potential problem with the hydraulic lifter or camshaft. It is baffling to note that, other than an initial transmission replacement, there were no further indications of any underlying issues, as the truck is regularly serviced. Additionally, within 60 days of purchasing the vehicle, similar issues arose, requiring additional repairs that were paid out-of-pocket at the time. Now, the vehicle is once again out of commission due to persistent GMC failures. The estimated repair cost is expected to be between $6,000 and $10,000.
Rainy road, 60mph on the hw with my family. Truck decides to engage stabilitrak or something to that feel and locked up the brakes. Talk about a scary moment with an 18 wheeler coming in hot behind you. Obviously, in the moment, I had no clue what was happening other than something with the truck was malfunctioning. This scenario could have gone wrong in so many ways. I'm honestly in shock someone has not been killed because of this?
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 MPH and hauling a boat, the vehicle started operating at reduced power. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the push rods were bent, and the lifter had collapsed. The contact called the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

The body has rust coming through on the lower body panels by the rear doors of a crew cab. Have to replace the AC condenser on a 2015 gmc Denali. Looks like GMC already knows there is an issues with this, but no recall on the 6.2L sierra denalis.
Truck loses power engine dies while driving after turning at slow speeds. Engine will restart after a few minutes like it never happened does not show any DTC codes or check engine lights. It is intermittent with no advance notice very dangerous to drive. Seems to be a common problem for all GM trucks and SUVS from 2014 - 2017
Improper cooling cycles causing coolant leaks on the radiator
The issues started when I began to notice that I was not having a constant flow of heat coming out of the vents inside of the vehicle. I brought the vehicle over to a local service center and the mechanic there discovered that my antifreeze reservoir was completely empty, but I did not have a leak. After filling the truck back up with coolant, a few days later, while driving, suddenly the truck began to run rough as if the vehicle went into "limp mode". I noticed that the check engine light was flashing and the traction control light was on. At stops, the truck would rough idle, shake, and there was a large amount of smoke coming from the tailpipe. I was able to get the truck back to the same service center that ran some diagnostic tests. He told me that there is a fault in the number 7 cylinder which has no compression in it. I had the truck towed to a local GMC dealership who confirmed that there was no compression in the number 7 cylinder and said that there was a lifter issue in the engine requiring an expensive fix. GMC had the truck from the Friday after Thanksgiving (the Year 2021) to January 4, 2022, to make the repairs. Repairs were delayed due to the dealership not being able to get the necessary parts in a timely manner.
1. Truck is equipped with AFM (auto fuel management) I found out thru some research models since 2014 having collapsed lifters because of this feature. GMC has not made any attempt to recall this problem and let customers face the repair like me at the cost in my case of 7K. This truck has only 58879 miles on it. Not surprising models as new as 2021 had the same issue with no action taken to correct. 2.My truck lost the steering assistant feature putting me in a potential accident while i was driving. Steering the truck is difficult, especially at low speed which I decided not to drive it. I'm 87 years old and I'm facing numerous repairs for a vehicle with only 58K miles on it in order to safety drive my vehicle
2015 gmc sierra crew 4x4 with 92k miles suffered from lifter and push rod malfunction on cylinder 7. The engine started making a knocking noise, there was a loss of power and the truck was shaking. It seems this a common theme with these trucks.
When decelerating and turning left the car goes completely dead. First time I just about got killed on the highway. The other two times I knew to put it in neutral & crank the car. No steering no nothing. Days Chevrolet in Jasper, Gais trying to tell me there is NO RECALL on my serial number. I see there were a lot of them years ago. In addition to that my power steering occasionally goes out. The last time I was backing into my garage when I had to manually turn it. Hard to do for a woman.
bad lifters causing hesitation and and hard shifting.
62,000 MILES. P0307 error. Replaced spark plugs, coil. head removal, lifter replaced and now another bad lifter. Faulty Active Fuel Management Lifter (AFM Lifters) that results in the Valve Train Defect. In shop for lifter repairs.(2nd time) Cost is $3000. Well maintained truck with all required service completed. Never even towed anything. Vehicle should not have these issues with this low mileage.
2015 GMC Sierra 1500 with 40k miles has developed a radiator leak. Smell of coolant has been evident for a few years but was unable see the actual leak. Seems to occur often in 2014-2018 Sierra 1500. See service bulletin PI1513F. Issue is not covered under warranty.
The A/C condenser is defective, one of the three welds it has is leaking due to lack of proper welding.

Everything is horrible in the truck

at first my brakes began locking up on the vehicle, almost as if they were pumped full and not able to press down any longer, shortly after that the stabilitrack light came on and white smoke began to come out of the exhaust as well as a slight shake in the engine, i immediately turned the vehicle off and parked it, mind you i bought the vehicle 1 day ago and it is already broke down, the issue is with gmc and these sensors they are using they are faulty engine reduces speed and it is not safe to say the least.not only that but had the exact same problems with my Gmc Acadia which i finally got the light to stop going off after replacing transmission, brake pedal position censor, as well as gas pedal position censor, also had the throttle body replaced, Do you all make products that are worth anything, nothing was ever done about the Acadia, the Gmc sierra is a 2015 with 70,000 miles on it this car should not be acting like this please contact me at [XXX] thank you so much for your time, also there are 14 recalls on this year truck yet mine shows that there are 0 recalls to be fixed I am wondering about this as well. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
Truck will experience complete electrical failure while driving in motion at various speeds. Failure lasts between 5-10 seconds but causes severe difficulty as steering is affected. A web search reveals grounding issue as potential cause. Manufacturer has not notified me of this particular issue and or any recall effort and I know of no existing recall effort for this issue.
While operation my 2015 GMC 1500 DENALI Pickup at normal conditions my vehicle produced a engine light. I was three blocks from my office so I proceeded there immediately to have my vehicle scanned for codes. This is where I found out that cylinder #7 had an issue. This cylinder is part of the AFM system. I had the vehicle towed to Galles Chevrolet for diagnostic services and an estimate for repairs. Up receiving the results (which) I will attach. Bank 1 and possibly Bank 2 lifters and springs have failed. Thus possibly cause damage to the cam shaft. While I am aware that my vehicle is out of powertrain warranty (5 years / 100,000 mile), my vehicle only has 52,000 miles on it and very very well taken care of at all times. I am also aware of a class action law suite that pertained to the same exact issue on gm products from 2004-2014. Also service bulletins were produced by GM pertaining to this issue. Now I have been out of service of my vehicle for 3 1/2 weeks not to mention a potential $7000 repair, that should have never been in the picture! Poor quality control on products for potential profit gains have cost many many customers pain, anguish, and money.
Incident has happened multiple time. When put on the computer to see if problem, does not show anything. Incident: 1)Driving on highway and truck completely loses power and electrical notification come on. Have limited power and electrical notification stayed on continually. Had to take in for repair. This happened May of 2018. 2)While driving on highway, used signal to change lanes and lost engine power. Had some electrical flickers and steering issue. Multiple times in last 6 months, sporadic. 3)When signaling and turning steering wheel, lost engine power. Also had problems with electrical/computer issues. Multiple times in last 6 months, sporadic 4)When slowing down, signaling, and turning steering wheel, after turn completed and start accelerating, transmission seem to be missing. This issue is sporadic and has been doing this since I have had the vehicle new. All these incidents have happened sporadically, with not pre-warning indicators and when having the truck check on the computer, with the exception of (#1) showed no issues.
At times my vehicle will lose power steering, turns off stabilizer traction control light comes on.There is no warning and does this more at low speed turning.you can't turn the steering wheel when this happens and the breaks hardly work.I have 30,000 miles on vehicle I had this vehicle towed to dealership in 2016 they charged me diagnosed but didn't tell me anything more it's only been to the shop for recalls I do my own maintenance
Power steering goes out and at time turn truck power off whenever i attempt a slow tight turn like backing into my driveway or making tight turns going into parking lots and/or spaces. Most recently, when attempting a u-turn at a busy intersection, power steering went out and engine died. I had to coast to the side to avoid moving traffic. Each time this issue happens i hear 3 dings all my dash & screen lights flash off then on with clicking noises. Dash info changes from speedometer to radio setting. If i look at screen quickly enough when this happens i would sometimes read “rear parking assist unavailable” or something like that. If air conditioning is on it would turn off then on. Doors will unlock then lock, all this happening simaltaneously while attempting to make a turn
I have noticed over the last few weeks I am losing radiator fluid. Its slow but noticeable. Engine temperature rises and fan stays on. My 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 only has 50,150 miles on it, and started well under 50,000. It looks like the leak is from upper contact points of Radiator and frame. I have come to find out that GMC has put a notice out on this issue and put a recall/repair out on the 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 for the same issue. Its a know defect. ( I WILL ATTACH COPIES ) I went to the dealer and was told they would fix the 2014 but have not issued a fix for the 2015. "Not enough complaints"? Its a very expensive fix for a KNOWN manufactured defect but GMC (AND CHEVY TRUCKS) want more complaints.... so here is my filing. Kind of a silly game they are playing when they know it should be a recall issue.
Radiator coolant leak, replacement Radiator with 11000 miles has begun to leak now. . Fuel injectors had to be replaced at 60000 miles. Blue Paint is peeling off in sheets
RADIATOR FORMS STRESS CRACKS FROM CONSTANT THERMOSTAT CYCLING. THE RESULTING CRACKS CAUSE THE RADIATOR TO LEAK. GM HAS ISSUED SPECIAL COVERAGES FOR CERTAIN MODELS BUT DOESN'T ACKNOWLEDGE IT IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM ON OTHER MODELS OUTSIDE THE COVERAGE.
I TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR TEST DRIVE FOR TRADE IN PURPOSES AND WAS INFORMED THAT MY RADIATOR LEAKED AND IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH 2015 GMC SIERRA AND NEEDED REPLACING FOR $1400. THERE IS A RECALL FOR SAME PROBLEM WITH 2014 YEAR BUT NOT 2015 AND THIS SHOULD BE CORRECTED BECAUSE IT IS A KNOWN DEFECT AND CONSUMER SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR DEFECTIVE PART.

WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE STREETS, TRUCK LOSES ALL ELECTRICAL POWER, LOSES POWER STEERING,RADIO, GAUGE CLUSTER POWER AND ENGINE DIES. HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES TODAY. IT IMMEDIATELY ALL COMES BACK ON(SO FAR) BUT COULD DEFINITELY BE A SAFETY CONCERN IF THE CONDITIONS WERE RIGHT.
VIOLENT AND ERRATIC SHIFTING DURING ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION... A SIMULTANEOUS POP AND JERK HAPPENS... ALSO WHEN ACCELERATING AND HITTING PASSING GEAR THE TRUCK SEEMS TO STALL OUT AND THEN QUICKLY ENGAGES TO APPLY MORE POWER THAN EXPECTED... THIS CAN BE DANGEROUS FOR A DRIVER ATTEMPTING TO MERGE ONTO HIGHWAYS/HIGHWAYS! THE JERKING OCCURS ON A REGULAR BASIS AND AT VARIOUS SPEEDS ON VARIOUS HIGHWAYS...

IT HAS A PROBLEM WITH CYCLING OF THE THERMOSTAT THAT CAUSES STRESS FRACTURES ON THE RADIATOR LEADING TO COOLANT LEAKS. ATTACHED ARE GM BULLETINS ON THE 2014 AND 2015 MODELS. AS ONE CAN SEE THEY HAVE PROVIDED SPECIAL COVERAGE. MY RADIATOR IS LEAKING JUST LIKE THE SERVICE BULLETIN SAYS. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALL.

WHEN I WAS DRIVING MY TRUCK OFF THE HIGHWAY ONTO THE MAIN ROAD WHERE I WAS GOING I NOTICED THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH MY TRUCK. AFTER COMING TO A STOP AT A RED LIGHT ONCE IT TURNED I ACCELERATED AND SUDDENLY FELT A JERK FROM THE TRUCK AND HEARD A LOUD WHISTLING NOISE. IT DID THIS MULTIPLE TIMES ABOUT 5-6 TIME EVERY TIME I WOULD ACCELERATE FROM A SPEED OF 30-40. I DECIDED TO DROP IT OFF AT MY LOCAL GMC TO GET IT LOOKED AT. THEY CALLED ME THE NEXT DAY TO PICK IT UP SINCE THEY RAN IT THROUGH DIAGNOSTICS AND DIDN'T FIND AN ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE. ONCE I GOT THERE I DEMANDED FOR THE MECHANIC TO COME DRIVE THE TRUCK WITH ME TO SEE WHAT THE ISSUE WAS AND THEY DECIDED THEY NEEDED TO KEEP IT FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS TO GET IT LOOKED AT. THEY THEN CALLED TWO DAYS AFTER AND SAID THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS MESSED UP AND NEEDED A NEW ONE TOTALING THE COST TO $5346.07 WHICH IS CERTAINLY NOT SOMETHING WE CAN AFFORD RIGHT NOW! I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THEY DIDN'T SEE THE ISSUE THE FIRST TIME THEY DIAGNOSED IT?? THIS IS SOMETHING THAT NEEDS TO GET RECALLED I HAVE SEEN MANY SIMILAR ISSUES.

THE VEHICLE IS STALLING WHEN BRAKING AND GETTING READY TO TURN. MY TRUCK IS SHOWING STABILITRAK SERVICE INTERMITTENTLY AND I'VE ALMOST BEEN IN A CRASH 3 TIMES BECAUSE OF THIS. THE VEHICLE ONLY RESTARTS AFTER PLACING IN PARK. THIS IS NOT SAFE WHEN IN TRAFFIC. THERE SEEMS TO BE NO RECALLS AND NO KNOWN CAUSE. SOMEONE IS GOING TO DIE IF GM DOESN'T FIX THIS. I'VE BEEN ON FORUMS AND IT'S A COMMON PROBLEM. IT SHOULD BE FIXED BY GM IF IT IS SO COMMON. THIS HAPPENS WHEN APPROACHING CROSS TRAFFIC AT AN INTERSECTION AND I LOSE ALL CONTROL OF STEERING BRAKING AND POWER TO THE TRUCK.

I ONLY HAVE 57,000 MILES ON MY TRUCK, WHICH IS WHY I AM REPORTING THIS. THE TRUCK TURNS OFF COMPLETELY. I HAVE BEEN GOING TO MAKE A RIGHT/LEFT TURN AND THE TRUCK SHUTS DOWN COMPLETELY. I HAVE NO POWER STEERING AND LIMITED BRAKES. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME TWICE NOW. I AM LUCKY ENOUGH THAT I AM STRONG ENOUGH TO TURN THE TRUCK WITHOUT POWER STEERING OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE HIT VEHICLES BOTH TIMES THIS HAPPENED. THERE HAS TO BE SOME TYPE OF ELECTRICAL FLAW THAT IS MAKING THIS HAPPEN. I WANT TO GET THIS RESOLVED BEFORE MY INSURANCE COMPANY HAS TO GET INVOLVED BECAUSE I AM IN A CAR ACCIDENT. IF THIS IS SOMETHING THE MANUFACTURER TAKES CARE OF THAT WOULD BE GREAT, OTHERWISE I WOULD JUST LIKE TO KNOW IF SOMEONE ELSE HAS HAD THIS ISSUE AND HAS FOUND THE RESOLUTION.

AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM FAILURE. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR OTHER RECALL RELATED SERVICE. I FURTHER REQUESTED THEY CHECK THE HVAC, AS IT STOPPED WORKING APPROXIMATELY 3 WEEKS AGO. I HAD IT RECHARGED ONCE, AND THE CHARGE FAILED TO HOLD. THE GMC DEALERSHIP IN MOBILE, AL EXPLAINED THEY HAVE RECEIVED A LARGE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT FAILURES OCCURRING TO THE AC SYSTEM. HE EXPLAINED IT CENTERS AROUND FAILURE OF A WELD IN THE COILS. HE STATED THE REPAIR COSTS APPROXIMATELY $1,300.00 AT THE DEALERSHIP...HE WAS DISCOUNTING THE COST TO $950.00 TO COMPETE WITH THE LOCAL VEHICLE AC SHOP WHICH CHARGES APPROX $800.00 FOR THE SAME SERVICE. HE ADVISED HE WAS NOT AWARE OF A RECALL FOR THE PROBLEM AND FURTHER ADVISED HE WAS SURPRISED GM HADN'T RECALLED, AS IT'S A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE SYSTEM. I AM FILING A FORMAL COMPLAINT IN HOPES OTHERS HAVE DONE THE SAME, AS GM SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CORRECTING THIS FAILURE.

WHEN I FIRST GOT THE TRUCK THE BRAKES OPERATED PERFECTLY FINE AFTER ABOUT THREE DAYS THE BRAKES ON THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK WOULD LOCK UP WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND WOULD NOT RELEASE. AFTER TWO SETS OF CALIPERS TWO SETS OF BRAKE PADS A SET OF ROTORS A TWO WEEKS GO BY WITH THE MECHANIC TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS TRUCK. THEY THEN REPLACE THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER, THERE WAS NO IMPROVEMENT. TURNS OUT TO BE THE BRAKE BOOSTER HAD FAILED ALONG WITH THE HYDRAULIC ABS CONTROL UNIT. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ON WHATSOEVER THE WHOLE ENTIRE TIME THE BRAKES WERE LOCKED UP THE ABS LIGHT DIDN'T COME ON UNTIL THE BRAKE BOOSTER WAS REPLACED INDICATING THAT THE ABS CONTROL UNIT WAS ALSO BAD. NOW I AM EXPERIENCING A TICKING COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE TICKING OCCURS AT IDLE END AS THE THROTTLE IS BEING ACTIVATED. HOWEVER THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP HAS REFUSED TO GIVE ME ANY INFORMATION AS OF WHY IT COULD BE MAKING THIS TICKING NOISE OR IS JUST UNWILLING TO SAY ANYTHING .

THIS COMPLAINT IS REGARDING EXCESSIVE SURFACE RUST ON NOT ONLY THE FRAME OF MY TRUCK, BUT ON CRITICAL ENGINE COMPONENT CLAMPS IN THE ENGINE BAY. ANY SCREW STYLE HOSE CLAMP IN MY ENGINE BAY ARE RUSTED WORSE THAN MY OTHER 9 YEAR OLD CAR WITH 102,000 MILES ON IT. I WASH MY TRUCK, INCLUDING UNDERCARRIAGE, PERIODICALLY THROUGHOUT THE WINTER TO TRY AND KEEP THE SALT OFF. MY TRUCK IS A 2015 WITH 40,000 MILES, AND JUST RECENTLY, THE RUST HAD COMPLETELY EATEN THROUGH THE LOWER RADIATOR HOSE CLAMP CAUSING ALL THE ENGINE COOLANT TO LEAK OUT. I NOTICED THE REST OF THE CLAMPS WITHIN THE ENGINE BAY TO BE IN THE SAME CONDITION, ALONG WITH THE FRAME, AND SUSPENSION COMPONENTS. IT IS CLEARLY ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THEY FAIL WHILE I AM DRIVING, WHICH COULD CAUSE A FAILURE OF ANY SYSTEM USING ONE OF THESE RUSTED CLAMPS, SUCH AS THE BRAKE LINES, POWER STEERING LINES, OIL LINES, OR TRANSMISSION FLUID LINES.

WHEN MAKING SLIGHT LEFT TURNS, THE TRUCK WOULD FLASH STABILITRAK ON THE DISPLAY AND THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD AUTOMATICALLY PULL OUT OF MY HANDS AND MAKE THE WHEELS STRAIGHTEN UP. THE RADIO WOULD THEN GO DEAD AND THEN 5 TO 10 SECONDS LATER THE ENTIRE TRUCK WOULD TURN OFF. THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THIS HAPPENED ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS WITH NO OTHER WARNINGS. I CONTACTED GMC AND THEY HAVE NOT GIVEN ME ANY TYPE OF ANSWER OR ASSISTANCE.

WHILE AT LOW SPEED AND AT STOPS WHILE TURNING THE WHEEL THE ENTIRE DASH AND ENGINE CUT OFF AND COME BACK ON. THE STEERING ALSO LOCKS UP TO A POINT OF NOT TURNING EITHER WAY. ALL INCIDENTS HAPPENED ON A VERY SMOOTH FLAT ROAD. THIS PUT MY LIFE IN DANGER ON ONE OCCASION WHILE TURNING ON A HIGHWAY WHERE MY ENTIRE TRUCK SHUT OFF MID TURN.I HAVE VIDEO OF THIS OCCURRING ON MY PHONE IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO REACH OUT TO ME FOR THAT. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A STABILTRAC ISSUE, ONE OF GMC'S TRACTION CONTROL BRANDING THINGS. I HAVE SEEN THIS ISSUE ALL OVER GOOGLE WHILE SEARCHING IT AND IT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED! I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THIS WILL HAPPEN.
