The temperature sensor in the transmission is faulty leading to hard/delayed shifting, shuttering, and vibration
Transmission failed at 110k miles roughly. Safety was put at risk due to this happening on a highway. Yes, transmissiom was replaced by a local repair shop, the means of failure was identical to thousands of vehicles in this model year failing prematurely. No it wasnt inspected by the dealer. No there was no warning light, we were going up a hill and it failed.
Push rod failure in #4 cylinder at 104,000 miles. Bent push rod. Possibly due to AFM.
I have owned 4 of these trucks in my lifetime ranging from 2007-2015 all equipped with the same drivetrain. 5.3l engine and 6l80 transmissions. All have had the same failures. The engine afm system particularly the lifters fail which in turn destroys the camshaft and destroys the engine. More importantly the transmission torque converter fails sending debris through the whole system causing a sudden loss of drive. This happened while driving down the road and was a safety concern for myself and others. This time it costed me $6500 to replace the transmission. All of the trucks I have owned experianced the same failures how is this not a problem?
I am writing to formally submit a serious safety complaint regarding the transmission in my vehicle, which nearly caused a life-threatening accident while driving under normal conditions. While traveling on a two-lane rural highway, I was attempting to climb a steep hill when the transmission suddenly began to slip. My vehicle lost power mid-ascent, despite steady pressure on the gas pedal. The RPMs shot up erratically, but the vehicle failed to accelerate. As I began to crest the hill, the transmission completely disengaged, forcing my vehicle into a free-roll situation. The danger escalated quickly. As I started to descend the hill, I attempted to downshift to control my speed—but the transmission would not respond. It slipped again, and I was essentially coasting with no engine braking. An 18-wheeler was behind me, approaching fast. I could see it barreling toward me in my rearview mirror, and I had nowhere to go. With the road shoulder too narrow and no pull-off in sight, I had to veer dangerously close to the edge to avoid being rear-ended. I truly believe that if the driver of the semi hadn’t taken evasive action, I would not be here to write this complaint today. This transmission failure is not only unacceptable—it is a critical safety issue. A vehicle should not lose all power and braking control during normal highway driving. This is not just an inconvenience or a performance issue. This is a defect that puts lives at risk. I am requesting that this transmission be investigated for an official recall. I have since learned that I am not the only one experiencing these symptoms, and it is only a matter of time before this defect causes a fatal accident. Please take immediate action to investigate this issue. I am willing to provide full documentation, diagnostic reports, and be available for further interviews if needed. Lives depend on it.
I am reporting a critical issue with the transmission. The transmission frequently slips, hesitates, and jerks unexpectedly during acceleration and gear shifts. On multiple occasions, the vehicle has lost power or failed to respond while entering intersections, merging onto highways, or attempting to accelerate—posing a serious safety risk. The issue often occurs without warning and has worsened over time. Additionally, there are instances of harsh downshifting, delayed engagement from park to drive, and sudden lurching forward or backward, which could easily result in a collision. Despite visits to the dealership and complaints made, the issue has not been resolved, and I’ve learned that many other owners of this same model have reported nearly identical symptoms. This appears to be a systemic problem with the transmission system. Given the safety risk, especially in traffic and at high speeds, I strongly believe this defect warrants immediate investigation and a formal recall.
A valve spring broke while going around 40 mph. Was not accelerating when it happened. Destroyed the piston, head and cracked the block. Once apart found the AFM lifter had started to wipe a lobe on the cam. Engine shut off after running real rough luckily my son was able to pull over. Truck had regular service and taken good care of. My favorite truck I have ever had. Had 137,000 miles on the odometer. This could have ended badly.
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the transmission was difficult to shift into gear, with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic but was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 144,000.

Motor blew up while driving down the road. Had to replace motor on 08/23/2023 at about 116,000 miles. Left me and my family stranded in the middle of no where. Was going around 60 miles an hour and when passing someone got up to 71 mph and then motor blown push rod bent. Transmission issues. Hesitation when switching from park to drive/ reverse. Takes at least 40 seconds and when you accelerate it will jerk so hard. Will lunge forward very sudden and sometimes even when coming to a stop at a stop sign. This happens almost every day.
I believe the torque converter failed and resulted in the transmission starting to fail. It still goes down the road but shudders when slowly gaining speed
In the fall of 2023 my 6.2L V8 with only 107,565 well maintained Miles completely seized up and shut off without any warning lights or other indications of failure. I was going up a steep hill and luckily I was able to get to the side of the road by coasting backwards to a stop and fortunately no one else behind me at the time. I did not get my truck back until late spring of 2024. I paid over $13k out of pocket to replace the engine because of this issue that is known to many other GM truck owners. Prior to catastrophic engine failure I’ve had multiple services including replacement of torque converters which would cause the truck to shake violently when shifting along with violent shifts in the 8 speed transmission and at times the feeling of being rear ended when slowing down or coming to a stop which GM claims to be “normal operation”. The engine failure was never investigated by any other parties but was looked at by the dealership service department. Both violent shifts and torque converter shutter were also confirmed by the dealer but only fixed with what I consider to be temporary remedies.

I've been having transmission issues which cause harder shifting than usual. upon research, I found that the 2016 GMC Sierra's have a special coverage that replaced the transmission harness which throws the code P0711 for the temperature sensor and P0700 which is the generic transmission code. The only difference between my VIN and the VINs covered under this special coverage is that my Sierra is a 2015, everything else is the same down to the part number of the known faulty transmission harness.
On 12/11/24 I had exited I95N, While traveling down the exit ramp I felt my truck buck, upon the light changing I went to accelerate and the truck transmission slipped and barely got into first gear. I again came to another traffic light and the transmission did the same thing. I put my hazard lights on and shifted through all the gears and finally I was able to get the truck moving. The following morning I brought the truck to my local mechanic and I was told I needed a new transmission, which is going to cost me $4400. About a year prior my daughter had a similar problem with her 2018 Chevy Silverado in which she had to replace the transmission valve body. With both of these occurrences the truck gives you no warnings and just stops driving and causes a real threat to safety.
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while depressing the accelerator pedal, the RPM's increased; however, the vehicle failed to properly accelerate. During the failure the trailer hitch and 4WD messages were displayed. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 119,453.
Mileage: 119,453
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. Additionally, the contact stated that there was an abnormal squeaking sound coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was driven to the shoulder of the roadway. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred while hauling a trailer full of horses. The vehicle was towed to the contact's parent's residence. The vehicle was diagnosed by an independent mechanic and was diagnosed with a failed torque converter. The contact was informed that the torque converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 129,000.
Mileage: 129,000
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle shuddered upon depression of the accelerator pedal, there was no warning light illuminated. Upon investigation, the contact determined that the failure was likely caused by the torque converter. The dealer was contacted about the failure and informed the contact to take the vehicle for an inspection. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where the torque converter was flushed, and the transmission filter was replaced. Despite the repair, the contact stated that the failure worsened soon after the repair. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic where the vehicle remained. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

It keep having this issue constantly every minute saying trailer brake system
Had two lifters collapse and fail. Replaced transmission twice due to torque converter failure
I am on my 4th radiator and 3rd thermostat. August will be 1 year ! 2014 models are covered 2015 (like mine) is not covered. Transmission has shifted like crab since day of purchase 3 years ago. I am told it is a known issue from the factory with no solution. Truck also had a weird tick sense day one which turned into 2 failed valve springs. I have had 2 ball joints FAIL 1st time a month after purchase in my driveway. Second time 2000 miles later same side on my street
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while at a stop light and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle jerked and stalled. I purchased my truck (15 GMC Sierra z71 4x4) with around 122,000 miles on it. I would be owner #2. Truck ran great. Around 150,000 miles I noticed my truck's transmission start to jerk while accelerating from gear to gear. No engine light ever appeared. Problem stopped. A few days later while dropping my daughter off at school, my truck wouldn't go passed 35 mph. I had to put the shifter in manual and shift to third gear. Other gears would just rev the rpm's to 4 or 5. Since I didn't want to put my family, me and others on the road at risk. I parked my truck and started driving my other vehicle. A few months went by, and my other vehicle had a flat tire, I had to drive my truck to work. On the way home from work, my truck started acting up again, jerking while accelerating. speedometer would go up however truck didn't move. I had to pull over quickly so I wouldn't be broken down in the traffic lane. I turned the ignition off and waited five minutes and started the truck up. I was able to make it home. At this time the engine soon light came on. I ran my scanner on my truck and code P0700 TCM was the only code showing. I had a Gmc dealer look at my truck and stated I would need a new transmission. I have done many months if not almost close to a year of research with results showing that transmission problems just what I was experiencing are a common problem with 2014-2019 chevy and Gmc / Silverado pickups with transmission 6L80. I dropped my truck off at another transmission shop just yesterday 3/3/24 and the results today were I need a new transmission. Torque converter issues. The shop stated that they repair / rebuild almost three chevy / gmc trucks like my truck a week with the same transmission problem. I still owe on my truck and shouldn't have to pay almost 6K for a transmission that is known to be an issue from the start of factory build. I own many older model gm / chevy vehicles and only had one other issue with one which also had a known recall issue.
The component or system failed was the transmission 4 different times. A new transmission was put in the car just 6 months after purchasing from a dealer. The transmission lasted close to 3 years being shy only a few days before the transmission warranty expired. So a new transmission was provided by the transmission owner at no additional cost for the transmission but we had to pay $1600 out of pocket for labor. That transmission lasted for 2 months before failing again which caused us to have the truck towed to our home to decide what our next step would be. So we had it towed to Tire max and they put in another transmission by the same manufacturer which we only had 2 days left under the warranty. That transmission failed within 2-3 days so we took it back to a different Tire Max location and they put in another transmission which did not cost anything for us by the manufacturer including labor. This transmission has now been in good standing since 12/20/23.
I would like to bring to your attention an alarming incident that occurred on January 3, 2024, with my truck. While accelerating onto the highway, the engine and drivetrain failed suddenly, posing a significant safety risk. The failure left the engine incapable of functioning properly, which could have resulted in a catastrophic accident. Seeking answers about the cause of this dangerous malfunction, I promptly arranged for an inspection by RNZ Concepts. After evaluation, they suspected a potential problem with the hydraulic lifter or camshaft. It is baffling to note that, other than an initial transmission replacement, there were no further indications of any underlying issues, as the truck is regularly serviced. Additionally, within 60 days of purchasing the vehicle, similar issues arose, requiring additional repairs that were paid out-of-pocket at the time. Now, the vehicle is once again out of commission due to persistent GMC failures. The estimated repair cost is expected to be between $6,000 and $10,000.
Vehicle has jerking and feels like you are being hit. scared for my safety. Have taken my my Vehicle to a transmission shop for investigation.
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that there was an abnormal clunking sound coming from the vehicle with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to Quality Buick GMC, INC. (7901 Lomas Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110) and Pitre Buick GMC- (9737 Eagle Ranch Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114) and the contact was informed that the failure was related to the transmission and the contact was provided an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

The same part number in the other models are for recall except this model.
Transmission was shuddering and slipping and then completely went out. Would not engage any of the gears. This happened while driving through the mountains without towing anything. My family and others on the mountain were at risk since the transmission was slipping out of gear and no safe place to pull over. It had to be towed to a dealer and they confirmed the transmission was toast and they replaced it, of course not under warranty. $800 tow bill and $6.893.98 to replace the transmission at a GM Dealer...Also, had to get a rental car ($318).
Vehicle has a history of hard shifting and jumping forward under certain conditions. In April 2019, while on the highway traveling about 65 mph, the vehicle slipped out of gear and do no longer be driven. No warnings were displayed prior to the incident. The dealer replaced the torque converter and repaired a broken transmission shaft under warranty. Hard shifting and jumping continued to occur, but the vehicle went without incident for another 4 years. Yesterday, 5/8/2023, the transmission went out again while driving around 35 mph. Vehicle is currently at dealer. My research has shown there is a class action lawsuit in 26 States for transmission issues for GMC vehicles between 2015-2019. NHTSA needs to take action and issue a recall. Losing a transmission while driving is dangerous.
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while shifting from drive (D) to park(P), the contact heard a loud clunking sound. Additionally, while driving and downshifting the contact heard the loud clunking sound. The contact also stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the transmission slipped while shifting from 1st to 2nd gear, and the vehicle failed to immediately accelerate. The contact stated that the failure occurred more during the winter months. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who reprogrammed the TCM however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.

My 2015 GMC Sierra SLT with 92K miles was in the shop (3/28/23) for a recall on the brake vacuum pump and they advised me that the oil cooling lines are leaking. They advised me of the potential safety hazard of fire and vehicle damage. There are no warning indications on the dash about this problem. I spoke to a local shop and they advised me to file a report as they have done 2 in the past week. I didn't get it fixed yet as I have a work truck that I drive and this doesn't get driven hardly ever.
I tried to buy a car at car dealershipin lafayette oregon ( Pouya Auto sales) gmc sierra 2015 black . on the date 02/09/2023 . They soldme this car with ABS ,cruscontrol, presusre tires ligths on dashbord . the financial bank recomend me to bring the veicule back to the dealership to have them to fixed . . they didnt want to continue with the contract anymore and canseled . now they want to sell the truck to some one else . and is not safe to drive it with this isuuses
I was driving my GMC Sierra upon entering the highway, I was at a stop sign waited for clear traffic when it became safe to do so, I entered the highway and upon excelling up a small incline the vehicle transmission just completely stopped working so as I depressed the accelerator the engine would would wind the RPMs up but the vehicle wasn't going anywhere. I pulled the car over to the side of the road and placed the car in park. Put my emergency lights on and couldn't get the truck to the to go to the area to be free and clear of traffic to transmission engage. I put the car into reverse this is the second time this has happened and this is what my husband recommend I do. When I called him is to place the vehicle in reverse reverse a little bit and then place the car into park and then turn it off. Start the car up again and see if it would engage the gear, it took placing the vehicle in park. After adjusting the steering column and trying it again, the transmission engaged but would not reach the full acceleration. I was on a hill so I put the brakes on and the car brakes would not stop the vehicle. It would bounce and skid a bit as I was on an incline. The transmission was not engaging in reverse either. After resting then it didn't get any speed. There are RPMs just kept whining out. I wasn't able to at first get the car to go into gear after wiggling or adjusting the steering column then it seemed to go in gear but it would only go a few feet and then it the process would start over. this was dangerous as I was on a highway with an incline which means I had no break ability so I was rolling without control. I was able to get the car home and parked in my driveway but as this is the second event that has happened since we purchased the truck I'm making this report. Feel free to contact me if needed
At 101,000 miles I experienced my check engine light and Stabilitrak dash lights coming on and the engine spuddering. I replaced the fuel injectors, spark plugs, spark plug wires, coil packs. I’ve taken it to two mechanics one told me that number eight cylinder was low on compression and the other mechanic told me that he has seen very many of the same motor that I have, with the problems associated with the lifter recall. I don’t know what to do. I’ve heard that the fix is the same part so it’s just going happen again. This is horrible, from a consumer standpoint Especially since GM has known about this since 2007 with their AFM/DFM motors. I would love to hear back from you pertaining to what my options would be for repair and payment. Thank you for your time and have a good day.
The transmission has a HORRIBLE VIBRATION when driving. Either going slow or fast.
The 8-speed transmission in 2 and 3 gear exhibits a hard shift...no slippage. When slowing down to a stop you hear what sounds like two steel barbell weights slamming together. You feel like the transmission will break and leave you in the middle of an intersection. I have visited the dealer and they state this is normal. My vehicle only has 41000 miles on it. This has been an issue for me for the last 3 years.
The transmission is lurching forward when initially put into "D" then when driving it seems to be confused on which gear to go into especially between 40- 50. The other problem is the truck will make a shudder like driving over a washboard but only on smooth pavement, then shift into allow gear and the engine will rev up. is this something that the dealer will repair. I'm concerned to drive it.

Everything is horrible in the truck
The same exact vehicle my sister has and it has the same problems. But mine not on the recall , its the same model and the same year

at first my brakes began locking up on the vehicle, almost as if they were pumped full and not able to press down any longer, shortly after that the stabilitrack light came on and white smoke began to come out of the exhaust as well as a slight shake in the engine, i immediately turned the vehicle off and parked it, mind you i bought the vehicle 1 day ago and it is already broke down, the issue is with gmc and these sensors they are using they are faulty engine reduces speed and it is not safe to say the least.not only that but had the exact same problems with my Gmc Acadia which i finally got the light to stop going off after replacing transmission, brake pedal position censor, as well as gas pedal position censor, also had the throttle body replaced, Do you all make products that are worth anything, nothing was ever done about the Acadia, the Gmc sierra is a 2015 with 70,000 miles on it this car should not be acting like this please contact me at [XXX] thank you so much for your time, also there are 14 recalls on this year truck yet mine shows that there are 0 recalls to be fixed I am wondering about this as well. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
I bought my 2015 gmc sierra 1500 certified and since then it has had vibrations when driving and hard shifts. The dealer has looked it over many times and said it's normal. Last month they said they sent gmc the readings and I haven't heard back. They have lied to me before about other vehicles and I'm tired of dealing with them not fixing it.
While operation my 2015 GMC 1500 DENALI Pickup at normal conditions my vehicle produced a engine light. I was three blocks from my office so I proceeded there immediately to have my vehicle scanned for codes. This is where I found out that cylinder #7 had an issue. This cylinder is part of the AFM system. I had the vehicle towed to Galles Chevrolet for diagnostic services and an estimate for repairs. Up receiving the results (which) I will attach. Bank 1 and possibly Bank 2 lifters and springs have failed. Thus possibly cause damage to the cam shaft. While I am aware that my vehicle is out of powertrain warranty (5 years / 100,000 mile), my vehicle only has 52,000 miles on it and very very well taken care of at all times. I am also aware of a class action law suite that pertained to the same exact issue on gm products from 2004-2014. Also service bulletins were produced by GM pertaining to this issue. Now I have been out of service of my vehicle for 3 1/2 weeks not to mention a potential $7000 repair, that should have never been in the picture! Poor quality control on products for potential profit gains have cost many many customers pain, anguish, and money.
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the transmission failed to operate as designed causing the vehicle to sputter and not properly accelerate. Also, the digital speedometer display would not display properly due to a faulty radio. Additionally, the driver’s side headlight failed to properly illuminate due to moisture build-up inside the headlight assembly. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. There was no service performed on the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,000.

MY 2015 GMC SIERRA HAS THE 8 SPEED TRANSMISSION WHICH HAS BEEN AN ISSUE SINCE I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED IN THE FALL OF 2018 AND THE TRUCK/TRANNY RAN GOOD FOR ABOUT 10 MONTHS. THEN IN LATE SUMMER AND EARLY FALL OF 2019, THE TRUCK JERKING HARD SHIFTS STARTED TO APPEAR. IN OCTOBER OF 2019 I BROUGHT MY TRUCK INTO MY DEALER TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT MY TRANNY DUE TO THE REALLY HARD SHIFTS FROM 1ST TO 2ND OR 2ND TO 3RD AND VICE VERSA 3RD TO 2ND AND 2ND TO 1ST. I HAD TO PAY A $80 DIAGNOSIS FEE AND THEY REPROGRAMMED MY TRANNY AND THE ECU TO SMOOTH OUT THE SHIFTS AND NOT MAKE THE SHIFTS SO HARD. IN ALL THE SOFTWARE REPROGRAM DID GET RID OF THE HARD SHIFTS, BUT IN RETURN NOW MY VEHICLE DROVE LIKE IT HAS A 6 SPEED TRANSMISSION INSTEAD OF AN 8 SPEED. IN JUNE OF 2020 I BROUGHT MY TRUCK BACK INTO MY DEALER TO LOOK AT MY TRANNY AGAIN! NOW MY TRANNY FELT LIKE IT WAS ALWAYS "HUNTING" FOR A DIFFERENT GEAR. WHEN DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 75 MPH 1600 RPM, IF THERE WAS A LITTLE BIT OF HEAD WIND OR I STARTED TO DRIVE UP A HILL, THE TRANNY WOULD DOWNSHIFT AND RPM'S JUMP UP TO 2200 RPM TO MAKE UP FOR THE DIFFERENCE IN ROAD GRADE, SAME AS WHEN DRIVING IN TOWN UP A HILLAT 35MPH. A 8 SPEED TRANSMISSION SHOULD NOT BE DOING THAT! AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS (75 MPH) MY PASSENGER SIDE SEAT WILL SIT THERE AND JUST WIGGLE AND SHAKE BACK AND FORTH. I HAVE CHANGED OUT BALL JOINTS AND STRUTS WITH BRAND NEW ONES THINKING THAT WAS THE PROBLEM AND THE SEAT STILL WIGGLES BACK AND FORTH. WHEN DRIVING MY VEHICLE IT FEELS LIKE I AM DRIVING WITH A 6 SPEED TRANSMISSION THAN AN 8 SPEED. I HAVE READ THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM IN THESE MODEL YEAR GM VEHICLES AND I FEEL GM NEEDS TO FINALLY ADDRESS THIS ISSUE ONCE AND FOR ALL AND KEEP THEIR GM CUSTOMERS SATISFIED. I DIDN'T PLAN ON BUYING A 3 YEAR OLD USED VEHICLE FOR IT TO HAVE THE ISSUES IT HAS HAD SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT. *TR

A FEW MONTHS AGO I WAS ACCELERATING FROM A STOP LIGHT THE TRUCK SUDDENLY AND VIOLENTLY JUMPED FORWARD IT HAD FELT AS IF I WAS STRUCK FROM BEHIND. HOWEVER NO ONE WAS THERE! I DID TAKE IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE CONDITION AND NO CODES WERE STORED. YESTERDAY THIS HAPPEND ONCE AGAIN! I WOULD HAVE SWORN SOME ONE HIT ME, THE TRUCK SHOOK AND JUMPED FORWARD SO HARD IT FELT AS IF A BUSS HIT ME. ONCE AGAIN NO ONE THERE! I AM MAKING THIS COMPLAINT BECAUSE I SEE MORE PEOPLE ARE HAVING THESES ISSUES AND GM CALLS THEM "NORMAL" SORRY BUT I HAVE DRIVEN TRUCKS FOR YEARS AND HAVE NEVER HAD ONE DO THIS! THIS IS A POTENTIAL HAZARD BECAUSE IF AT ANY TIME A CAR WAS IN FRONT OF ME I WOULD HAVE MOST LIKELY HIT THE CAR! PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE!

UPON START UP AND DRIVING IT STARTS TO GET SLUGGISH AND THEN JUST COMES ALMOST TO A COMPLETE STOP ONLY BUILDING RPM'S ACCRODDING TO THE GM DEALERSHIP IT'S NORMAL. WITH ALL THE GMC TRUCKS I'VE OWNED IT HAS NEVER DONE THIS. AND IS ONLY STARTING TO DO IT OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF MONTHS. I'VE TALKED TO A GUY WHO JUST HAD 2 REPLACED IN HIS TRUCK AND IS CONTINUING TO HAVE THE PROBLEM. TO AVOID ANY VEHICLE DAMAGE FOR ANYONE ELSE I'M CONSIDERING IF YOU CAN CHECK AND SEE IF ANYONE ELSE IS HAVING THE ISSUE. I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF MY TRUCK I DON'T MUD IN IT OR DRIVE IT CRAZY(WRECK LESS). DEALERSHIP IS ALSO PRETTY MUCH REFUSING TO LOOK INTO THE PROBLEM OR DIAGNOSING IT CONSIDERING THAT IT'S 'NORMAL' FOR THE TRUCK DO THAT. WHICH I STRONGLY DISAGREE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 GMC SIERRA 1500. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT AND REMAINED STUCK IN GEAR. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN FOUR TIMES TO LAROCHE CHEVROLET BUICK GMC CADILLAC (900 US-290, BRENHAM, TX 77833, (979) 836-6666) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND TORQUE CONVERTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND REPROGRAMMING WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURES RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MAC HAIK CHEVROLET (11711 KATY FWY, HOUSTON, TX 77079, (281) 497-6600) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS WORKING AS DESIGNED. TRANSMISSION SHIFTED HARD, DELAYED ACCELERATION AT TIMES, SHUDDERED AND JERKED. THIS WAS USUALLY SLOWING DOWN TO TURN AROUND 30 OR 40 MPH AS THE TRUCK WAS IN MOTION. AFTER ONLY TWO YEARS THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REBUILT. THE TRANSMISSION WAS SHIFTING POORLY THE MOMENT I DROVE IT OFF THE LOT EVEN IF IT "ADAPTIVE LEARNING" YOU COULD TELL THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG.

SAFETY ISSUE: KNOWN ISSUE TO GM BUT COMPANY REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE AS A SAFETY ISSUE. A LARGE NUMBER OF GMC/CHEVROLET PICKUPS HAVE VIBRATION ISSUE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS CAUSING STRESS AND UNNATURAL WEAR ON VEHICLE COMPONENTS WHICH MIGHT FAIL CAUSING A CRASH AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. GM DEALERS UNWILLING TO SOLVE ISSUE ON MAJORITY OF AFFECTED VEHICLES (2014-2015).

MY TRUCK SUFFERS FROM VIBRATION PROBLEMS, THE SAME THING THAT 10,837 OTHER POSTS FROM OTHER PEOPLE SUFFERING THE SAME PROBLEM ARE TALKING ABOUT ON THIS FORUM. HTTP://WWW.GM-TRUCKS.COM/FORUMS/TOPIC/153186-SHAKE-OR-VIBRATION-ISSUES/PAGE-723 THIS FORUM HAS BEEN VIEWED OVER 1.5 MILLION TIMES WHICH MEANS A TON OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY A RISK TO MOTOR VECHICLE SAFETY AND ABSOLUTELY EXISTS IN A GROUP OF VECHICLES OF THE SAME DESIGN OR MANUFACTURE. THE PROBLEMS THIS SHAKE PRESENTS THAT POSE A DANGER ARE VIBRATIONS SO SIGNIFICANT THAT IT CAN CAUSE DRIVER DISTRACTION, FATIGUE ON LONG TRIPS, POTENTIAL LOSS OF CONTROL, NOT TO MENTION LONG TERM HEALTH EFFECTS FROM VIBRATION EXPOSURE. THE HEALTH EFFECTS DEFINED ARE AS FOLLOWS: "THE EFFECTS OF WHOLE BODY VIBRATION (WBV) HAVE BEEN STUDIED EXTENSIVELY IN OCCUPATIONAL MEDICINE. IN PARTICULAR, IT HAS BEEN SHOWN THAT WHEN THE BODY UNDERGOES CHRONICALLY TO WHOLE BODY VIBRATIONS SPINAL DEGENERATION IS LIKELY TO BE ONE OF THE DELETERIOUS OUTCOMES. LOW BACK PAIN HAS BEEN SHOWN TO BE THE LEADING MAJOR CAUSE OF INDUSTRIAL DISABILITY IN THE POPULATION UNDER THE AGE OF 45 YEARS AND HAS BEEN LINKED TO WHOLE BODY VIBRATION EXPOSURE ENCOUNTERED IN SOME INDUSTRIAL SETTINGS. WHOLE BODY VIBRATION HAS BEEN RECENTLY PURPOSED AS AN EXERCISE INTERVENTION SUGGESTING ITS EFFECTIVENESS IN INCREASING FORCE-GENERATING CAPACITY IN LOWER LIMBS AND LOW BACK. IT HAS ALSO BEEN REPORTED TO BE AN EFFECTIVE NON-PHARMACOLOGICAL INTERVENTION FOR PATIENTS WITH LOW BACK PAIN. RELATIVELY SHORT EXPOSURE TO WHOLE BODY VIBRATION HAS BEEN ALSO SHOWN TO INCREASE THE SERUM LEVELS OF TESTOSTERONE AND GROWTH HORMONE. THE COMBINED EFFECTS ON THE NEUROMUSCULAR SYSTEM AND ENDOCRINE SYSTEM SEEM TO SUGGEST ITS EFFECTIVENESS AS A THERAPEUTIC APPROACH FOR SARCOPENIA AND POSSIBLY OSTEOPOROSIS."

THE GMC SIERRA HAS A TERRIBLE VIBRATION FROM 70 - 80 MPH. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 7 TIMES OVER THE LAST YEAR, 9 NEW TIRES, AND THE VIBRATION STILL CONTINUES. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE WITH GM BUT THERE HAS BEEN NO RESOLUTION. THE TRUCK FEELS UNSTABLE AND LIKE SOMETHING IS GOING TO BREAK ON THE HIGHWAY WHICH IS A SAFETY CONCERN. THIS VEHICLE HAS ISSUES AND IT NEEDS ADDRESSED.

I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE NEW IN 9/2015. I REPORTED A VIBRATION BETWEEN 75-80MPH TO THE NEARBY GM DEALER (TWICE). THE DEALER KEPT THE TRUCK FOR A FEW DAYS AND STATED THEY COULD NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I TOOK THE TRUCK BACK TO THE ORIGINAL DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT IT, THEY DID A ROAD FORCE BALANCE ON THE TIRES AND REPORTED THE PROBLEM FIXED. I TOOK THE TRUCK BACK TO THE ORIGINAL DEALER AT 13K MILES, THEY KEPT THE TRUCK FOR A FEW DAYS AND REPORTED THE TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THEY REPLACED THE TIRES AND STATED THE VIBRATION HAS BEEN RESOLVED. I DROVE THE TRUCK FOR ANOTHER 3K MILES AND NOTICED THAT THE VIBRATION WAS STARTING UP AGAIN. AT 18K MILES, I RETURNED THE TRUCK TO THE ORIGINAL DEALER AND THEY ARE GOING TO TRY AND RESOLVE THE PROBLEM A 5TH TIME.

THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION HAS A HARD SHIFT WHEN GOING FROM PARK TO REVERSE OR PARK TO 1ST GEAR. THE VEHICLE SHUDDERS WHEN AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS CAUSING A SHAKE SIMILAR TO RUNNING OVER INTERSTATE ROAD BUMPERS/ LINES. THIS HAS BEEN BROUGHT UP TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY RESET THE "LEARNING TRANSMISSION" FIXING THE PROBLEM TEMPORARILY FOR A DAY OR TWO.

I PURCHASED MY FIRST NEW VEHICLE IN OCT OF 2015. I'VE OWNED 4 VEHICLES SINCE I'VE HAD MY LICENSE, 2 DODGES AND 2 BMWS. I CHOSE A TRUCK I'VE DREAMED OF HAVING SINCE I WAS 16. I'M CURRENTLY 28. I CHOSE THE SIERRA DENALI. NOT ONLY WAS THIS MY FIRST NEW VEHICLE BUT THIS WAS MY FIRST TRUCK AND MY FIRST GM PRODUCT OF MY LIFE. NOW I'M TEETERING ON IT BEING MY LAST. THROUGH THE 14 MONTHS I'VE OWNED THE VEHICLE (SINCE 4 MILES) I'VE HAD NUMEROUS ISSUES. MY FRONT DIFFERENTIAL HAS BEEN REBUILT NOT ONCE BUT TWICE. MY TRUCK HAS 45K ON IT. IT HAS NEVER TOWED HAULED OR OTHER WISE PERFORMED A TASK REQUIRING IT'S POWER OTHER THAN NORMAL DRIVING. IT HAS BEEN BABIED. CLEANED WASHED OIL CHANGED TIRES ROTATED AND 93 OCTANE FILL UPS. AMONGST OTHER ISSUES WERE THE INFOTAINMENT CENTER FREEZING. CVS AXLE SHAFTS PERFORMING ERRATIC ALONG WITH BUCKING SLAMMING AND NOISES THROUGH THE POWER TRAIN. A RANDOM LEAK IN THE LOWER OIL PAN THAT THE DEALER SAID WAS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT THEY WERE AWARE OF. A AIRBAG SOFTWARE SAFETY RECALL AND A SHIFTING DRIVER SEAT THAT TENDS TO MOVE A BIT DURING CORNERING. NOW TO TOP ALL OF THOSE ISSUES OFF IN THOSE 14 MONTHS I NOW HAVE A LEAK THE EXTENDS OUT FROM THE EDGE ABOUT 5 INCHES FROM THE REAR WINDSHIELD ALL THE WAY FROM THE DRIVER SIDE TO PASSENGER SIDE. I'M NOT IN BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY. I WAS TOLD 100 DOLLARS AND IT WILL BE FIXED. IT SHOULDN'T HAVE TO BE FIXED. NONE OF IT SHOULD HAVE. I HAVE HAD LESS ISSUES IN ALL 4 OF MY LAST VEHICLES PUT TOGETHER THAN THIS 1 VEHICLE I HAVE OWNED FOR 14 MONTHS AND I BOUGHT IT NEW. THIS HAS BEEN A BIG LET DOWN. A DISAPPOINTMENT 12 YEARS IN THE MAKING APPARENTLY. ONE THAT HAS MORE THAN RUINED MY DAY. I HONESTLY DON'T WANT THIS TRUCK. IT'S SCARRED FOR LIFE. THAT'S OBVIOUS AND NOT REVERSIBLE. BUT NOW I'M UNDER WATER ON A LOAN FOR A TRUCK THAT'S NOT WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN SCRAP METAL. THAT'S NEITHER RIGHT NOR FAIR. *TR
EXTREME LAG/DELAY- HARSH ENGAGEMENT WHEN SHIFTING FROM PARK TO REVERSE. ITS LIKE YOU ARE BACKING INTO SOMETHING? WHEN CRUISING 28-32 MPH AND RELEASING ACCELERATOR(AS IF YOU WERE COASTING INTO A TURN) WHEN SLOWING THE VEHICLE SEEMS TO SHIFT UP AND LUNGE ENTERING THE TURN. CLUNKS AND SHIFTS HARD WHEN CRUISING NORMALLY WHEN YOU HAVE TO RELEASE THE GAS PEDAL AND SLIGHTLY REACCELERATE, CAUSING THE DRIVER TO HESITATE. VEHICLE SHUTTERS AND HARD ACCEL 10X WORSE WHEN TOWING A 7000 # TRAILER (TRUCK IS RATED OVER 12,000 LBS. TOWING).

FIRST OF ALL THE HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM AND AT NIGHT CANNOT SEE NOTHING.DEALER SAID IT IS WHAT IS .VERY BAD !! ALSO MY SIERRA ON WINDOW STICKER STATES COMES WITH ALL TERRAIN TIRES IT DOES NOT HAVE ALL TERRAIN TIRES . I TALKED TO DEALER AND CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE AT GM THEY NEVER CALL BACK AND THEY SAID THOSE ARE THE RIGHT TIRES.THEY ARE NOT ACCORDING TO MY ATTORNEY WHO STATES THE WINDOW STICKER IS TOTALLY INCORRECT AND IS FRAUDULENT CHECK YOUR TIRES AND WINDOW STICKERS AND COMPARE AND LOOK ON GOODYEARS WEBSITE YOU WILL SEE.ALSO MY TRANSMISSION CLUNKS AND KNOCKS AND SHIFTS INCORRECTLY DEALER STATES ITS NORMAL I SPEND 40K ON A NEW TRUCK AND ALL I HAVE ARE PROBLEMS AND GM DOES NOTHING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A GEAR CYLINDER FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 4,000.

BROUGHT IN MY 2015 GMC 1500 SIERRA TRUCK IN FOR VIBRATIONS ISSUES AT HIGH SPEED OF 70-75 MPH. AFTER 4 ATTEMPTS GMC CORP REFUSES TO ADMIT THAT THERE IS A SAFETY ISSUES IN DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AT A NORMAL RATE. THEY CONTINUE TO REMOVE AND REPLACE THE TIRES. I HAVE NEVER OWNED A VEHICLE BEFORE THAT SUCH VIBRATION IS FELT IN THE CABIN OF THE TRUCK, PASSENGER SEAT, FOOT PETAL, ETC.THAT IS SO UNCOMFORTABLE, THAT MY WIFE REFUSE TO DRIVE IN THE TRUCK DUE TO ITS SAFETY. GMC WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE ANY OF THESE COMPLAINTS BUT WILL SAY EVERYTHING IS OF SPECS. LIKE OTHERS THIS IS THE WORSE VEHICLE I HAVE EVER PURCHASED. FOUND MORE COMPLAINTS LIKE THIS HAS BEEN FILED, BUT SAME RESULT, GMC WILL DO NOTHING.

ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS MY TRUCK HAS ACTED LIKE IT IS IN NEUTRAL WHILE DRIVING. THE DRIVE SYSTEM DISENGAGES AND THE ENGINE JUST REVS. ONCE THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, THE OTHER WHEN THE TRUCK WAS STUCK IN SNOW. WHEN IT WAS STUCK IT DISABLED THE 4WD SYSTEM COMPLETELY, RENDERING THE VEHICLE STRANDED.

DRIVING MY NEW 2015 GMC $52,000 GMC SIERRA, I NOTICED A DISTINCT SLIPPING/HESITATION/GENERAL ROUGHNESS WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A DEAD STOP. THE TRUCK SEEMED TO EITHER HAVE A TRANSMISSION OR ENGINE PROBLEM. TOOK IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP FOR THEM TO CHECK, AND THEY INDICATED THAT THIS WAS "NORMAL" AND IT WAS JUST THE "CYLINDER DEACTIVATION" FEATURE PERFORMING AS DESIGNED. I EXPLAINED TO THEM THAT CYLINDER DEACTIVATION ONLY TYPICALLY HAPPENS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND ESPECIALLY NOT FROM A STAND STILL. THEY STUCK BY THEIR STORY AND AGAIN STATED THIS WAS NORMAL. MY SON CAME TO SEE ME AND DROVE MY NEW TRUCK. OF COURSE THE TRUCK HESITATED AND SLIPPED FROM A DEAD START. "WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOUR NEW TRUCK DAD?" HE ASKED. I TOLD HIM IT WAS 'NORMAL AND HE JUST ROLLED HIS EYES. THIS IS NOT NORMAL FOR EVERY SIERRA THAT GMC MAKES WITH THE 5.3 ENGINE AND 6 SPEED TRANSMISSION WOULD DO THIS. I HAVE READ ON NUMEROUS MESSAGE BOARDS AND WEBSITES WHERE THIS IS AN ISSUE AND GM NEEDS TO FIX THE PROBLEM. ALSO, THE HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM AND ARE BARELY USABLE. AS OTHERS HAVE STATED, I CAN ONLY SEE MAYBE 20-30 FEET IN FRONT OF ME AND NOT VERY BRIGHT AT THAT.

I HAD MADE A COMPLAINT TO CHAPDELAINE BUICK- GMC THAT MY BRAND NEW TRUCK DID NOT SEEM TO GO INTO FOUR WHEEL DRIVE. I WAS TOLD TO BRING THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WOULD CHECK IT FOR ME. I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT THE TRUCK WORKED JUST FINE IN FOUR WHEEL DRIVE. I THEN NOTICED THAT THE TRUCK SEEM TO SHIFT VERY ROUGH AND I CALLED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND TOLD THEM THAT SOMETHING HAD TO BE WRONG. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ASKED ME TO BRING THE TRUCK BACK DOWN TO THEM THE NEXT DAY AND THEY WOULD TAKE IT FOR A TEST DRIVE. WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP IT SHIFTED FROM DRIVE INTO NEUTRAL.I COASTED TO A STOP PUT THE VEHICLE INTO PARK SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND THEN SHIFTED BACK INTO DRIVE AND TRIED TO DRIVE AGAIN. THIS TIME THE VEHICLE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE STAYED IN LOW GEAR AND WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO A HIGHER GEAR. THE BEST SPEED I COULD MAKE WAS 10 MPH. I STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND RESTARTED TWO MORE TIMES. ON THE SECOND TRY THE VEHICLE DID GO INTO DRIVE. I MADE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOOK IT FOR A TEST DRIVE AND UPON THEIR RETURN GAVE ME A LOANER VEHICLE. THEY HAD TO REBUILD THE TRANSMISSION ON MY BRAND NEW TRUCK WHICH TOOK ABOUT THREE DAYS. THANKFULLY THIS EVENT TOOK PLACE ON A BACK ROAD WITH LITTLE TRAFFIC. IF IT HAD HAPPENED ON A BUSY ROAD AN ACCIDENT MIGHT HAVE OCCURRED. *TR
