I live in Illinois, my 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT has 51,318 miles on it as of 12/31/2025. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Engine Oil Cooler hose line detaching from crimp - small oil leak currently. Not yet fixed. Available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? If this component fails, all oil from the vehicle will be lost and inoperable. This could cause a traffic accident, especially if towing a load. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Confirmed by an independent service center. I will be taking my vehicle to the local GMC service center for additional confirmations. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No, but GM has acknowledged the issue through these customer satisfaction surveys (CSP XXX/ XXX). Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There has been no failure yet. A small oil leak was found on my garage floor. My issue is that this is a known issue in cold weather climates. Less then 47 000 miles on truck, Used for only city driving, no off road driving or rigorous travel. - engine malfunction and could have had catastrophic failure while traveling causing injury to myself or others. -Car is inoperable, dealer recommend not to drive it due to safety concerns. -I have metal shavings in the oil, misfires, and a P0011 code. These match the known GM lifter/camshaft failure pattern. Vehicle started skipping check engine light turned on for cam shaft interrupter magnet. GM has open recall for 2021-2025 engine However 2019 vehicle is still under investigation.

Transmission problem I have had 3 transmission replacement. I was told that these trucks have a faulty transmission from the sales representative to the mechanics. After these transmission replacement now I have an engine problem where the lifters need to be replaced and camshaft. I have had all service done on time never missed a service. Now the dealership is telling me that this could be a reason why my transmission keeps going out. And can’t really give me a reason why I keep having the same problem. Truck has 97k miles on it when I purchased it had 45k I can’t even enjoy the vehicle because it’s always at the dealership with the same problem and they don’t know why it’s keeps happening, at this point it is a safety concern for me this is my daily driver where I drive my kids to school now I never know when it will just stop running. It jerks I’m afraid when I’m stop at a stop sign I might hit the car I front of me.

The original engine (6.2L L87) had to be rebuilt by GM because of lower engine knocking in June 2024, with 57,873 miles. The rebuilt engine had to be replaced with a remanufactured engine in October 2024, but had to wait until the completed work in December 2024. The remanufactured engine started knocking, and that engine was replaced in October 2025. All part of the L87 6.2L engine failures. Problem documented by dealerships. Components were brought to GM's attention. No warning lights or messages - just lower engine knock.

Transmission experiences shuddering while accelerating. Impact on driving performance which is a safety issue. Problem has been confirmed by the dealer. No warning lights are present during this problem.

Oct 31, 2025

The engine started making ticking sounds, then the check engine light came on on and it began running very rough. GMC dealer replaced camshaft, all 16 lifters and guides and one bent push rod. The repair (not including transportation - I had to leave in GallupNM when I was enroute to Minnesota) cost was $7,832.81. The vehicle has 93,000 miles

The engine lost all power while driving down the road and code says p0016 Truck is now at a GMC service station being torn down

Aug 23, 2025

My truck is currently experiencing shuddering when driving. This happens at random times but is becoming more frequent. I have taken it into service shops on numerous occasions, and they have not been able to identify the cause due to my truck not exhibiting these conditions when they are diagnosing it. I have run out of funds to continually pay for diagnostic fees, so I have had to let it go until recently. Now it shudders, shifts very harshly, rpms fluctuate continuously, knocking noise when driving, and in the mornings when I first leave for work, my truck will not shift out of first without revving high in rpms. I took it to a mechanic and was told that it was my torque converter, which has now damaged my transmission. All of which I have to pay for out of pocket. These symptoms started when my vehicle was still under warranty (around 30,000 miles). I even flushed the transmission, and it did not help. This is my daily driving truck, and I use it to go to work and transport my 3 young children around. Most of our driving is done on the highway at high speeds (70 mph). When my truck shudders or shifts harshly, I feel that it is going to cause me to lose control or wreck, putting not only my life but my children's lives in danger. I have not consulted a lawyer, as I do not have enough money to do so. I have not had the manufacturer look at it, because when I called about it, they told me I would have to pay for all service fees since it is out of warranty. The only warning lamps I get is when it goes into limp mode (which is at least once or twice a month) and by the time I used to get it to a mechanic, the light was off and they said there is nothing they could do about it. All of this has been happening to some degree since it was around 30,000 miles and only getting worse. The fact that I have put over $20,000 into this (not including my monthly payments of $990) and now have to replace the transmission & torque converter is ridiculous.

I bought my 2019 GMC Sierra in August of 2019. It had 3000 miles when I bought it. It now has 59000 miles on it and is in the shop today for transmission repair. The authorized dealer has flushed the transmission and I am waiting for a call back. The flush will be in the $500+ range and they charge a $165 diagnostic fee also. The transmission shudders, knocks and grabs when I accelerate. It feels like I have been rear ended. It also leaps from a complete stop. It doesn't accelerate smoothly. I feel this is a dangerous situation. I have called GMC Customer Service to complain and they have escalated to someone who is going to call me back in 24-48 hours.

The contact owns a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would intermittently hesitate upon depression of the accelerator pedal. The contact also stated that the check engine warning light had flashed on the instrument panel. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic, where the mechanic informed the contact that there was a miscommunication between the engine and the transmission. Two dealers were notified of the failure, and each informed the contact that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The contact was also given a diagnostic fee to determine the cause of the failure; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Component/System that failed: The issue appears to originate from the transmission or drivetrain, specifically resulting in the rear wheels locking up and dragging at low speeds. It feels like something is seizing inside the drivetrain, making the truck very difficult to move. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. How safety was put at risk: This failure presents a serious and unpredictable safety hazard. The vehicle begins locking up randomly when slowing down, such as in parking lots or residential areas. If this occurred at higher speeds or in traffic, it could easily result in a crash, loss of control, or pedestrian injury. It’s completely unreliable and unsafe to operate in this condition. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or service center? The issue is part of a well-known transmission defect affecting GM’s 8-speed automatic transmissions. There are multiple class action lawsuits and thousands of consumer complaints documenting identical symptoms. GM is fully aware of the defect but has refused to issue a recall, instead allowing the time-based warranty to expire even when the mileage is still well within the 60,000-mile limit. My local GMC dealer refused to offer a loaner or goodwill repair and quoted over a week just to diagnose it despite knowing that this is a known failure point. The symptoms are consistent with the known defect GM continues to avoid addressing. Has it been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance? No outside inspection has occurred yet. Given the widespread documentation of this defect and the consistency of symptoms, it should not be necessary to involve other parties. Were there any warning lamps or messages? No. There were no warning lights, messages, or alerts of any kind. The failure occurs randomly, and without any prior indication. That unpredictability makes the issue even more dangerous.

Had to have transmission rebuilt found metal shavings and was shifting bad and shuttering. Vehicle Has 63,000 miles and is well maintained. Vehicle was taken to GMC but said their transmission person was on vacation for 2 weeks. Also parts dept Said they had no transmissions in stock and were back ordered. Truck was taken to AAMco and transmission was rebuilt And torque converter replaced . This is a common issue with GMC trucks.

I was driving with my wife about to merge into traffic on the interstate when I had a huge power loss. It was a busy part of the interstate where I could have been ran over. There was a lot of traffic and was fortunate the Semi driver was alert and slowed down. I was not aware of any failures of this motor or received any notices from GM. After conducting research I found that this was a know issue that GM failed to report. My truck has been serviced regularly and until that point had not given any signs of a upcoming failure, I have read that GM is looking into other years such as 2019 which mine is. I have had no luck with GM customer care with the only response being I need to crunch the numbers from my claim advisor. I have the 6.2 L87 motor and know of the clip failure do to poor assembly and parts and debris getting into the motor causing the failure. I am looking to report this and request any assistance available. My first stop was the dealership, then GM customer care

I am reporting a serious mechanical and safety issue with my 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 (5.3L engine). The truck began misfiring, running rough, and would frequently “jump” and shut off while driving — creating an unsafe situation on the road. We attempted several repairs to resolve the issue: •Transmission flush •Replaced the intake manifold gasket •Replaced all eight fuel injectors •Inspected all ignition coils •Replaced faulty sensors The vehicle repeatedly showed a Cylinder 8 misfire, even after these repairs. Eventually, it was diagnosed that both the lifters and camshaft are bad, and the engine now needs a full replacement. This is extremely concerning because the truck has only about 47,000 miles on it. We brought it to the dealership in September 2024, while it was still under warranty, and told them it wasn’t running right. The dealership said there was nothing wrong. Now that the warranty has expired, GM is refusing to help with any repairs. This appears to be a manufacturing defect that was not properly diagnosed while under warranty. Engine failure at such low mileage, especially with early warning signs and repeated diagnostic errors, should be investigated as a serious reliability and safety concern.

Since I bought the truck, it has had transmission problems. The truck will violently jerk forward between Park - 1st - 2nd gears (up and down) pretty frequently. The dealership denied being able to recreate the issue and nothing was wrong. After dropping the vehicle off a few times, the dealer service dept said they recreated the problem and replace the torque converter. It did not work and the service dept manager told me that they knew about the problem the whole time but were instructed by General Motors to not attempt to fix the issue. I called GM Company and a supervisor eventually admitted to knowing of the transmission and engine issues all along but the GM engineers have not found a solution yet but they are working very hard to figure it out. Since those calls, my lemon law claim with BBB Auto was approved, but suddenly denied with no explanation. Following that, the #2 lifter failed and damaged the cam shaft. All were replaced and that was at 70,000 miles. The transmission has not been fixed.

I was headed out of town and stopped in the neighborhood at a stop sign. As usual, the Auto Stop/Auto Start feature turned the engine off and when I lifted my foot off the brake pedal to reengage the engine, the truck started rolling backward. The engine would not start even though all the gauges and systems were working as if the engine was on. I had the truck towed to my mechanic and after troubleshooting, they determined the engine was locked up and would need to be totally replaced. My truck has the 6.2L gas engine and have since learned that GMC is recalling later model trucks with this engine in them due to engine failure. If my engine failure had happened anywhere other than at a stop sign in a neighborhood, it could have caused a significant accident. I can't find a new engine because of the GMC recall and the cost to replace the engine with a lower mileage, used engine is approximately $16,500.

While driving down the highway I experienced a sudden lose of power with check engine and other associated warning lights immediately illuminated. It has been confirmed by my independent service center and a GMC dealer that the engine lifters and camshaft failed. I have documentation to prove the vehicle has been traded to a GMC dealer. My safety and the safety of other divers around me was put at risk as I abruptly lost power at highway speeds and this caused traffic around me to slow very quickly and swerve to avoid collision. Serious personal and public injury or death was narrowly avoided due to the quick response of other drivers. I had to limp the vehicle to a safe place to exit the highway and avoid further danger. After speaking with the dealer and my independent maintenance professional I can say that the problem was showing eminent failure, for about a year there was a tik I was hearing that in the past had been described as the "GM TIK" some mechanics said it was normal others said it might be a problem but none of them ever recommended a repair. I believe this is related to the problem reported by my local news agency on 4/30/2025

Bought used 2019 Denali Oct 2024 with 41 k miles on it. 1200 miles later started feeling vibration under load on highway. Took to dealership and they said I needed to replace torque converter. After that the transmission went out during test drive. Then waited 45 days for new transmission to find out the unit was defective. Now we’re going on 5 months and the truck still waiting on a replacement transmission. GM hasn’t acknowledged any of my complaints about this and said that they’re doing the best they can for me and is going to award me 10000 reward points for future use! What a joke! 5. months to replace a transmission? GM has completely failed its consumers, at least this one!

I had engine failure two weeks after a schedule maintenance that included a tune up. When the engine failed all the components made the vehicle impossible to operate much less bring to a stop safely. I had to get the vehicle towed to the dealer. The dealer confirmed that the engine (6.2 V8) has a known documented issue. The vehicle is at my dealer with the engine being disassembled. There weren't any warnings as I stayed on the maintenance schedule that the dealer mapped out since my purchase. The problem began [XXX]. After researching the issue I found this online. I bought this vehicle at 80k miles and I have had an on going issue with the transmission. I have done research online and found that GM had put the wrong fluid in the transmission from the factory that has caused internal issues with the transmission leading to hard shifting and transmission shuttering. On my dime I have changed the fluid twice already and also the torque converter as well. This issue has gotten better but still a problem. This has caused me to not be able to trade my truck with out being upside down because of the dealers telling me they would have to put a new transmission to sell it. So now my trucks value has dropped as well. Now I am stuck in a truck that is not safe to drive. Thanks GM for not helping me.

Apr 11, 2025

Transmission keeps skipping missing gears and hard shifting, as well as jolting forward. When attempting to switch lanes vehicle transmission skips. When being placed from Park to drive or any other gear vehicle transmission hard shifts. Vehicle radio and screen shut off intermittently every 30 to 45 minutes. Vehicle screen goes blank and black and resets itself after 30 to 45 minutes.

Apr 10, 2025

Transmission has been failing for the life of this vehicle. Shuttered shifting and hard shifting are the norm. It is available for inspection. Vehicle does not shift properly when vehicle is in motion. Shifting is often delayed resulting in temporary loss of power. I have had the vehicle in to a transmission shop they have been able to reproduce the events. There are no warning lights visible to indicate an issue.

Transmission started fluttering around 60k miles. Per GMC Dealer - this is due to water getting into transmission from fluid put in at the factory. Even though dealer admitted that it's a defect from the factory, the warranty wouldn't cover the repair. This is a well known issue in the 5.3L 8 speed trans.

Transmission has had shifting, shudder and failure to go into gear from day 1 of owning the truck. Has been to the dealer on several occassions for the same issue just to be told that they either could not reproduce the issue or it was normal. On another occasion the dealer was able to notice some shudder and shifting issue and replaced the valve body under warranty. Now that the vehicle is out of warranty I’m being told the vehicle needs a complete transmission rebuild and torque converter at an out of pocket cost to me of $8500. I know of many others with the same issues from the onset of owning these vehicles.

My truck has had two lifters fail at different times which ended up ruining the camshaft Now my truck feels like it’s going over a rumble strip on the highway at low rpm’s. During this speed the trans is slipping and can not pick a gear. Other gmcs had a service bulletine to change trans fluid but my did not. I have emailed twice to gm and have not heard anything back. I have close to 10000 in repairs and my truck has been down for 4 months.

Subject: Potential Issue Related to Recall N202314870 for GMC Sierra 1500 Problem Description: I own a 2019 GMC Sierra AT4 (VIN# [XXX] ) and have identified a potential issue related to the drive shaft. Although my VIN does not appear in the official system as affected by recall N202314870, the vehicle exhibits the following symptoms: 1. Unusual and consistent vibrations in the drivetrain while the vehicle is in motion. 2. Noises coming from both the front and rear differentials. 3. Concern regarding the integrity of the drive shaft, as these issues align with the details described in the recall. Given that this issue potentially affects the safety of the vehicle, I kindly request a review to determine if my unit should be included in recall N202314870 or any other related campaign. I appreciate your consideration of these symptoms for a proper evaluation. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Issue 1: Driver side front seat airbag connector separated disabling the airbag. (repaired at my cost) Issue 2: Transmission (10 speed auto) developed stutter and skip consistent with complaints resulting in recall of 2020 (next model year truck) due to risk of rear wheel lock up. GM needs to include the 2019 models that were built as 2019 (as 2020) in one of the plants while they continued to build the 2018 as 2018 "classics" during the changeover. My cost to repair will be $3600 and there is not guarantee that the new valve body is any better or if GM is simply giving me another 46k miles to wait for another failure.

My end of year 2019 produced GMC Sierra 1500 5.3 V8, 4WD X31 4 door truck had a serious malfunction that could have caused great harm. I was driving down my driveway at approximately 20 mph when the truck's rear wheels locked up, stopping the truck instantly, sending me into the steering wheel narrowly missing the windshield with my face. After a moment, I attempted to drive again to move the truck out of the travel path. When I did, the truck back wheels completely locked up again (when I reached 6mph). I had the truck towed to my local shop and was told that it was the transmission locking up making the wheels lock up. The part (transmission) that was ordered for repair was on national backorder and took over two months to get my truck repaired and functional again. I was fortunate to have a warranty (now expired) and pay a percentage of the repair fee, however, the total repair fee was near 12,000. This was paid for by myself and my warranty company. Considering the part was on national backorder, I know that these types of problems are occurring with many of these trucks. I learned of the recall for this same problem that my truck had and checked the recall for my vin. To my complete surprise, my truck was not listed as being recalled, even though the EXACT same problem occurred with my truck. I would like to get the cost of the repairs refunded considering it took GM so long to recall the problem leaving me to pay for their errors. This is not a cheap automobile and was expected to be built well. I am very fortunate that I was not on a major highway or traveling at a high rate of speed when this happened. It was a very scary ordeal being propelled into the windshield of your vehicle when driving due to abrupt, extremely unusual 100% mechanical failure of no fault of your own. This recall should be expanded to include ALL vehicles that have the faulty transmission, including mine. Repair receipts can be provided. I appreciate your time and consideration.

When the transmission downshifts the rear wheels lock up and the truck skids out of control. I have to be very careful with gas pedal pressure to not allow the transmission to downshift by 2 or more gears. This is virtually impossible in mountain terrain, where I visit routinely.

The contact owns a 2019 GMC Sierra. The contact stated that while shifting gear, there was an abnormally loud banging sound coming from the vehicle. The vehicle failed to shift into gear properly. The wheels were slipping and pulling while driving at various speeds. While driving on the road, there was an abnormal rumbling sound. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, Joe Ball GMC (1750 William Flinn Hwy., Glenshaw, PA 15116); to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be drained and flushed. The dealer informed the contact to drive for 200 miles. The dealer also recommended replacing the transmission. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted and referred to the NHTSA Hotline. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

Truck showed check engine light and popup message to Service ESC, vehicle disable traction control. Before being able to have the vehicle scanned for error codes (after sitting parked turned off for a while, all errors cleared. Several days later when turning vehicle on traction control warning light, parking break warning light, and stability control warning light all turned on, service ESC message popped up again, PRNDL position indicator light turned off and vehicle began to have a clicking noise in the steering column when break was pressed. There is a multiple year long thread on this topic on the silveradosierra forum entitled "service-esc-and-service-power-steering" it appears that dealer and GM help are limited and the issue often goes away and recurs.

Right lifter went out & damaged the CAM Shaft which in turn damaged the engine The vehicle has been sitting at the dealership since August 1, 2024 & confirmed on August 9, 2024, stating that a new CAM shaft would need replaced or a new engine, which ever we choose. NOTE: Vehicle only has 40,298 miles on it I was driving to work on August 1, 2024, service engine light came on & was blinking & the breaking system lights came on, this was the only warning that I received.

May 28, 2024

Check Engine Light came on while driving system scan states misfire cylinder 6 but resulted in the lifter being damaged as well as the cam shaft on a vehicle that has 108,000 miles. Prior to this I reported multiple times that it seemed that the transmission would slip and stuttered when on a incline and put in reverse. I was told it was a computer program issue and was charged for a software update which obviously did not fix the issue but ruined the engine.

If this had happened on a busy interstate. My wife and I could have been hurt or killed. Had the truck towed to dealer. Replaced the Transfer Case Module. Still don't know if what they put in truck was correct since mine was different than what was shown on computer specifications.

The torque converter of transmission went out on my 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali with only 62072 miles. My safety has been put at risk daily, from intermittent shuddering and loss of power. My vehicle underwent a multi point inspection at Earnhardt Buick GMC confirming I will need a complete transmission assembly estimated to be around $7100. There were no indications or dash lights, the only reason I brought it in is from hard shifts, and intermittent shuddering.

When shifting to Park the vehicle shuts down but message comes up to Shift to Park and electronics stay on. Vehicle is off but unable to exit vehicle and lock it since the Shift to Park messages keeps dinging.

Jul 31, 2023

Transmission has created shuttering at speed and jarring total stop decelerating from 2nd into 1st gear. Beyond the transmission this vehicle completely stopped and lost power at 55 mph due to faulty valve lifters and pitted cam lobe. These were two separate incidents. Transmission cause lose of power on incline. Valve lifters cause lose of power at high speeds. The dash board read outs no longer worked and I was on a Highway without the ability to maintain speed.

Jul 18, 2023

The transmission causes the vehicle to shudder, lurch from a stop, at times it won't move forward (from a stoplight etc), it won't reverse other times. When driving down a freeway, the transmission allows the engine RPM to surge wildly as if I had put it in neutral and pressed the accelerator. This started at 85k miles approximately. It's into 90k now. The transmission had to be replaced at a cost of $6000

Jul 12, 2023

Oil cooler line detached from crimp while driving at highway speeds forcing the vehicle to an emergency stop on the side of the road. All oil pressure was lost immediately and entire underside of vehicle including tires, brakes, and wheels were all coated in oil. Known issue for same year, make, and model that has already been listed from NHTSA. But, apparently this VIN was not in the affected range.

May 15, 2023

Transmission is slipping into neutral from a slow start and re-engaging with a hard bang to the point it feels like I’ve been rear ended from a vehicle behind me. It’s done it twice in two weeks and it seems to happen when I’m leaving from a stop or slowing down and then come back into the accelerator.

Oct 12, 2022

When I first start the truck up and reverse out of my driveway once I shift it to drive it hesitates and feels as the transmission slips from 1st to 2nd gear. Makes it a safety issue due to the truck launching forward once the acceleration kicks in and the revolutions are high once the truck starts its speed from the hesitation.

Sep 6, 2022

While driving down the highway at 70 MPH, the transmission slammed into gear and the engine died. A message appeared and said shift to neutral and press the ignition button. The check engine light also appeared. This had been a problem that first appeared at 48,000 miles. I was told that GM recognizes that there is an issue with the transmission, but that it would not damage the vehicle so it is not able to be repaired under warranty. The dealership advised that I should change the transmission fluid, so I did. The transmission continued to slam into gear thereafter. Fast forward to 55,000 miles where the truck completely died. The engine would not start and the truck had to be towed to a dealership. The next day the dealership told me that they had figured out the issue and that it was related to the fuse box and the ignition. I picked up my truck the next day, and drove less than a mile before the engine died again. I sat at the dealership for 12 hours and they had another answer for what was happening. They said that the shift lever was damaged and it was not allowing the battery to recharge. I live 400 miles away from where the truck broke down. I had to rent a vehicle to return home with my family from a trip. I now have to drive back to my truck in another state, and pay for the 12 plus hours of diagnostic work at $140 an hour as well as the cost of the part and the time to install it because the dealership stated that this is not covered by any warranty. I see that several people are dealing with a similar issue and I am frustrated that no one is willing to help us right this wrong. My grandfather worked for GM his entire adult life, and I will never own another one.

The vehicle jerks when I put it in reverse or drive. And when I'm going down the road while it shifts gears. It's be doing it since I purchased it (new). It was light at first but lately its been worse. I took it to the dealership a couple of months ago & they replaced something small & said it was fixed. But it still bad. My truck still only has 30K miles.

The transmission on this truck it’s not good first they said it was the torque converter then they said it was the valve body ,it work for a few days and I told them before they change any of that that the transmission was making a rattling noise they just patching the problem not fixing the problem told them to give me a new truck or new transmission but they just keep patching the issue I been at cullman dealership like 7 times ,, also had a p25a2 code had a check engine light I told the dealership about and they didn’t do anything about it bc the check engine light wasn’t on anymore

The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that there was no transmission failure. The vehicle was not repaired. when I bought the vehicle in October2018, I have taken the vehicle back to the dealership multiple occasions and they refuse to fix this issue. The transmission shifts from first to second gear or second to first gear is clunky, jerks forward and shifts without warning. While sitting at a stoplight, the vehicle will sometimes lurch forward several inches without warning even with your foot on the brake. Furthermore when accelerating between first and second year it's sluggish and takes several seconds to shift from first to second the engine Revs high.

Jan 31, 2022

Hard shift on take off from 1st to 2nd gear and while driving around random hard erratic shifting. Feels like pickup is getting rear ended. Have take in to Gregg Lair in Amarillo TX and they have reset shift points to no avail. I talked to head service writer and he stated that GM had a problem with their transmission but did not have a remedy for them. He advised to drive for about 3,000 miles and we have and still have the issue. We have been back multiple times and Gregg Lair states that it is still in learn mode after over 10,00 miles. I am a mechanic by trade and in my opinion there is a design flaw with the transmission and/or they have the wrong transmission fluid for the design.

Jan 26, 2022

The 2019 GMC SIERRA I own shifts extremely hard from a stopped position or when changing from reverse to drive. The shift is so forceful, that it feels like I have been struck by another vehicle. The overall feeling is that the vehicle is not safe to drive and it is not a reliable mode of transportation. The delayed shift, vibration and jerk, makes this vehicle a hazard to drive, as the ability to predict the issue is impossible. There are no other warning lights, or messages prior to the error. Online forums show this to be a known issue.

Jan 10, 2022

Transmission jerks, slams, forces a feeling of being rear-ended, delayed acceleration with sudden engagement causing uncontrolled acceleration. I've had it looked at every time I've taken it into the dealership for regular maintenance. They haven't been able to reproduce it as it only happens once, first time after not driving it for a while. No warning lamps or messages ever appear.

GM IS GIVING US THE RUNAROUND AND UNWILLING TO FIX WHAT I HAVE NOW FOUND OUT, HAS BEEN A KNOWN PROBLEM. THEY BASED EVERYTHING OUT OF WHAT THE MODULES REPORT WHEN THE CAR IS HOOKED UP TO THE COMPUTER. BASICALLY, IF THE MODULES ARE OK THEN THE CAR IS REPORTEDLY OK. NOT THE CASE.
