THE VEHICLE IS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION - 35,000 APPROXIMATE MILES WITH A EBCM MODULE REPAIR NEEDED IN ORDER TO REPAIR IT TO A LEVEL THAT MEETS FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARDS OF AT MINIMUM S5.3 NO.126 & S5.1 NO. 135 - I BELIEVE THIS VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN/SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE ORIGINAL AND/OR EXPANDED RECALL N192268091. THE VEHICLES ELECTRONIC BRAKE ASSIST IS NOT WORKING CAUSING IT TO BE DISABLED. IT HAS BEEN INSPECTED BY DENNY MENHOLT GMC. While driving in my uncongested neighborhood, my brakes totally failed. Dash indicated multiple brake failure warnings. I managed to get my truck stopped and returned home by engaging my low range, four wheel drive. If I had been in on the open road, going down a hill, negotiating a curve, or in traffic a crash would have ocurred, potentially fatality. My vehicle was towed to a GMC dealership. They diagnosed the problem in the electronic braking module with a software update needed. My vehicle Is a 2019, but had only 23,283 miles at the time of the braking failure.

Ok I know my vin don't go under the 10 recalls for 2019 gmc sierra limited 1500 rwd, but my truck has the same problem with the brake module has those recalls I feel like gmc might have used different parts for the other recall but used the same brake module for my truck cause I have that same problem has the recall. It's obviously a issue that needs to be look in and my brake module should be fixed by gmc

This is a second report of an issue that first happened in February 2025, the dealer replaced the battery and called it fixed. On Friday 5-2-2025 I started the vehicle and as I was driving the dash lit up with these warnings: Service Trailer brake system, Service ESC, Brake System Failure 62 mph top speed, Steering assist reduced drive with care, The vehicle steering got stiff and brake pedal went to the floor board with a little braking available if I stood very hard on the brake pedal. I got off to the side of the road, cycled the truck on and off and was able to drive off. It did this three times before I could get it to the dealer the next day, If my daughter was driving I would have expected that two of the three would have resulted in a wreck as she would not have been strong enough to steer or stop the vehicle. The dealer had it three days and replaced the brake master cylinder and called it fixed, I picked the vehicle up and on the way home I stopped for gas, after the gas station the dash displayed: Service brake assist, I turned right around and took it back to the dealer, they checked the code and said the brake assist module was drawing too much current, I picked the vehicle back up three days later, they said they bleed the air out of the brake system and called it fixed. No one wants to ride with me and my daughter is begging me to trade the truck, they call it a death trap waiting to happen. GM says it is all normal issues.

I was traveling north on interstate 95 and approaching my exit ramp. I was initially in the inside lane of travel. I accelerated to merge into the outside lane, between two other vehicles, and then onto the exit ramp. Once on the exit ramp, I let off of the throttle and the engine suddenly shut down. I noticed a message on driver information center instructing me to shift the vehicle into neutral and press "start again". The engine had shut down without any warning whatsoever. I complied with the instructions to no avail. The truck is over half full of fuel. I was within an hour of home after completing an approximately 8 hour, 500 mile, round trip over 2 days of driving. After this event, I connected an OBD2 scanner and the only code found was P25A2 brake system control module. I placed the truck in park and tried repeatedly to start the engine. It would not turn over, crank or start. I had power to all systems and no other codes. I had to have the truck towed from the scene. The truck's performance had previously been flawless during this entire trip and had given me no warning whatsoever of the sudden engine shutdown. This is extremely dangerous and a safety concern.

The contact owns a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 20 MPH, the vehicle came to a screeching stop. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the electronic brake control module had short-circuited and there was a miscommunication, which engaged the parking brake and locked up the rear wheels. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was previously taken to the same dealer on two occasions and repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V889000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC); however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case, but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000.

On a normal trip to work the dash light lit up then gave me these warnings. Service ESC, Service Trailer brake, Brake system Failure-62 mph top speed, steering assist reduced. Dashboard lights that were on, ABS Check Engine, Brake, Traction Control. When I tried to slow down the power assist was gone on the brakes, I had a little braking when I pushed the pedal all the way to the floor as hard as i could, when I went to turn the wheel was hard to turn. I have had no issues like this before. After I managed to stop and turn off then on the vehicle everything came back expect for a warning to service the trailer brakes and the check engine light was still on. It all cleared after a few more restarts. I got the truck to the dealer 4 days later and they said it was the battery going bad even though I was not having any problem starting the vehicle, I had them replace the battery. I am unsure if the problem is resolved, time will tell. What I am sure of is if my daughter had been driving the truck, she would not have had the strength to get the brakes to work or turn the wheel, she would have had a accident for sure.

Truck showed check engine light and popup message to Service ESC, vehicle disable traction control. Before being able to have the vehicle scanned for error codes (after sitting parked turned off for a while, all errors cleared. Several days later when turning vehicle on traction control warning light, parking break warning light, and stability control warning light all turned on, service ESC message popped up again, PRNDL position indicator light turned off and vehicle began to have a clicking noise in the steering column when break was pressed. There is a multiple year long thread on this topic on the silveradosierra forum entitled "service-esc-and-service-power-steering" it appears that dealer and GM help are limited and the issue often goes away and recurs.

Complete system failure while driving. Lost control of vehicle, no breaks. Had it brought to dealership. Lifter failure and bent rod, top engine failure which caused everything to malfunction. Vehicle has 88K miles on it. This is a defect. We had taken it in for the ticking problem in the past and they did nothing for us. Everything is documented. We are afraid that bottom half of engine was compromised. Do not feel safe driving this vehicle anymore. I do not want it to blow or lose control of vehicle again. This is a known issue and must be addressed. There was a service bulletin put out for my engine and there is an exact part by part that needs to be replaced, however GM is unwilling to listen to us at this time. Please look into this because this will happen to more and more consumers. This is very scary. What is the cost of a life?

The contact owns a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the service brakes were inoperable, and the vehicle experienced phantom braking. The vehicle came to a complete stop on the highway. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic however, the failure could not be duplicated. The contact called and made the dealer aware of the failure. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. Additionally, the speed odometer was inoperable. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

Electrical short on brake booster performance error code c0021 while operating vehicle . Brake pedal became stiff and higher than where I had it . Vehicle making hissing noises and will no longer start due to this error. Safety concern this is not part of a recall list. I nearly crashed. I had to utilize emergency brake.

I put my truck in break. Service mode to replace the brake pads. I began changing the pads And could not get the piston to retract all the way, I hooked uon a c clamp to retract the piston. In the event i moved the rotor to another spot and the brake service mode turned off and the piston extended. My fingers nearly got caught in the caliper. When put in brake service mode, it should not automatically extend when turning the rotor. Someone will get hurt bad at some point in a swrvice garage or at home when wirking on brakes.

Question #3 Not yet I am having towed to the dealer today. Question #4 Not yet the vehicle will be towed to the dealer where I purchased it today. Were driving and vehicle repeatedly suddenly braked in the middle of interstate or highway without any warning. We are so traumatized, and scared of this vehicle. It has happened before. Dealership says there is nothing they can do. This could have caused our life. GMC should be held accountable.

The contact owns a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle started to decelerate independently, and the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact was able to park the vehicle safely off the highway. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle first to his residence and then the following day to an independent mechanic and was informed that the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) needed to be replaced. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V889000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic, Service Brakes, Electronic Stability Control) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 133,000.

driving home at low speed truck would hardly stop took it to dealer-suburban gmc troy mi. received a letter afterwards that brake control module was not repaired properly and needed to return for repair truck showed about 15000 miles on odometer April 2020 and showed 51% brake life on rear brakes-when I asked if brake were worn I was told no and dashboard now read 91% brake life on rear brakes-in March2023 with 28000 miles on the odometer my brake monitor alert came on and when I returned to the dealer I was told that my rear brakes were down to 15% and needed to be replaced. Everyone tells me front brakes should wear out first and rear brakes should last much longer.

I were driving at low speed and all 4 wheels locked causing the vehicle to suddenly stop without notice. I almost got rear ended. I had to put vehicle in park and turn off and turn back on to get it to move. Again it did the same thing stoping with brakes locking suddenly, almost causing an accident in middle of road. There was no warning at all.

Was driving around 70 MPH brakes started engaging and disengaging truck felt like engine was missing, brake light luminated and stated to stop vehicle ABS light luminated as I got to the emergency lane I had no brakes pedal went to floor and I came to a stop after coasting and pressing pedal. Once stopped trailer towing light luminated ( I was not towing anything). I exited truck and it was apparent this was a issue with the front brakes as they were smoking. Rotors appear to have marks in them when compared to rear. After about 30 minutes I started truck and there was no indication on dash of a problem had brake pedal. The truck has 50800 miles on it. Contacted dealer (Hendricks Chevy) this morning they said it was not covered and no recalls I discussed brake issues I read on line again they repeated no recalls in system for my truck, but would be glad to look at it in 2 weeks.

Alarm codes P25A2 & C05B0 -Brake system failure 43mph top speed -Service trailer brake system -Service brake assist -Service ESC -Check engine light -Traction control light My vehicle is not showing any recall, but obviously I’m not the only one with this issue. A quick research on google revealed several people with the same issue. I’m having to pay for this out of pocket for an obvious issue with GMC & Chevy trucks.

The truck has 50,000 miles, purchased new. I don't tow or go off road. I take it to the dealer every 5,000 miles. While driving 65-70mph on the interstate (4-lanes), my dash lit up with five messages and the "Brake, Traction Control and Engine" lights illuminated. I applied brakes but the pedal went to the floor and the steering veered to the left causing me to move out of my lane. The truck then went to limp mode and I was unable to go above 43mph the remainder of the trip home. After taking it to my dealer the next day, I was told they "found air in the brake fluid system due to secondary seal failure in brake master cylinder, and was quoted a new cylinder (PN 86788482) for $1708.06. RESPONSE TO QUESTIONS: >Component failure: brake master cylinder (eBoost Brake Unit Assembly) / Brake System Failure >It was just me in the vehicle - brake failure on the highway put me and others on the road at major risk >Yes - After paying to diagnose, I was told this was brake master cylinder failure. ...GM issued a Customer Satisfaction Program (N202324120) for a limited number of MY2021 Silverado/Sierra trucks (mine is a MY2019) for dealers to replace the eBoost brake unit assemblies due to failure >Part has not been inspected by my insurance rep./I do not know if anyone else has inspected >The warnings illuminated on the dash at the time of brake failure while on the interstate 1. Brake pad monitor listed over 90% for both front and rear brakes then all of sudden I get warning light that says Service Brake Monitor. I have had this happen twice since I purchased this vehicle new. The dealership has fixed it twice, there were software bugs. I cannot tell when I have a real issue or is it just a software bug.

When driving my truck I lost all power steering got notifications to service abs in 7 days, service esp, and service power steering as well as a stability at light being on. Could no control my vehicle, restarted the truck 4 times, and it disappeared, garage could not pull any codes. This is VERY unsafe!!!!!! And has been issued a recall in past models and years. I could have been killed, for a problem the GM is aware of and have not issued a recall yet.

When I began to accelerate my vehicle the brakes locked automatically. I noticed that once I hit 6 mph the brakes locked. I tried troubleshooting by turning the truck on and off, turning off all of the assistance buttons, turned the parking brake on and off. I was able to drive it in reverse.

Last Weekend was taking the kids and my brother and his son fishing, so 2 adults in front seats 3 kids on the backseat. Got my boat all hooked up and we're off. About 2 miles down the road the truck rebs up really high and then bottoms down hard on the RPM's. As soon as this happens all lights and instrument cluster goes crazy. Check Engine light on, Parking Brake Light On,Traction Control Light On, And I'm sure I'm forgetting more. The Cluster states ESC failure drive with caution, Do Not Exceed 43 miles per hour speed limit Brake Failure and So on. I have since found pictures pf the exact same thing that happened to me that morning and will provide. Needless to say I have no brakes and have a 19 ft bass boat behind me. All I could do was let off gas completely and push brake pedal all the way to the floor and pray that it stopped. Good Lord willing it did. Pulled over asap and killed truck, let sit a few minutes while I assessed the situation and cranked it back up. All lights and brakes were fine. Has not done it since but I only drove to dealership to find out the issue and 4 days later still no answer. Its a 2019 with only 26000 miles, and has never had 1 issue before this

The transmission on this truck it’s not good first they said it was the torque converter then they said it was the valve body ,it work for a few days and I told them before they change any of that that the transmission was making a rattling noise they just patching the problem not fixing the problem told them to give me a new truck or new transmission but they just keep patching the issue I been at cullman dealership like 7 times ,, also had a p25a2 code had a check engine light I told the dealership about and they didn’t do anything about it bc the check engine light wasn’t on anymore

While driving on a two lane road I proceeded to pass a slow moving vehicle, after accelerating from 45 MPH to 60 MPH my Check Engine light, Service Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Service Electronic Brake System lights illuminated on my display. My RPMs increased before shifting gears and I noticed a significant loss in power. Thankfully there was not an accident when the incident occurred; however, if an oncoming vehicle or bad weather it could have been a different outcome. I took my vehicle to a GMC dealer to diagnose the issue where I found out my lifters for my valves are bad and my fourth cylinder is inoperable along with a bad CAM. A new vehicle at 65K miles on it should not be having mechanical issues that can pose a danger while driving, putting others and my safety at risk. GM needs to reevaluate the products and materials their using to build engines to ensure there are no flaws starting with the valve lifters.

i started the vehicle messages popped up stating service power steering drive with care, esc drive with care. at that time i had no power steering and the brakes were spongy. i then drove a short distance stopped turned off the engine and restarted with the same issues. drove home on the next day everything had reset. i then went and set a appointment with the dealer, they found nothing wrong no tripped codes nothing.

On 6/24 I drove my 2019 gmc Sierra denali truck 2 miles to the store was in there 10 minutes come out to start it and a ESC service warning message appeared then another message appeared say service power steering drive safe then my traction light came on then my trailer light I tried turning truck off then waited 2 minutes pumped brakes started it again same messages appeared I called my husband to tell him I said I will try to drive home as I preceeded to put in gear and back out of parking spot I lost my steering it froze up then lost my brakes I immediately put in gear turned off called husband to come get me as I was waiting I tried to start again when I did all messages were gone and I had steering as well.as brakes but at this point I was a an emotional wreck we just had a horrific scare in same truck on a major interstate my husband completely lost brakes and almost wrecked only to find there was a brake module reprogramming recall on the truck we had not been notified by mail yet so now this if I was driving on main road this could have been fatal so my husband called and dropped off vehicle on 6/25 told them every detail they said they call when done so on July 6th was told truck was ready when he arrived they handed him our keys and invoice said have nice day my husband got to truck read invoice only to find they did nothing to truck he went in to service said why isn't it fixed they said because no codes come up but if it happens again bring it back my husband said what if im driving it and it happens this can cause a fatal accident the service Mgr said just bring it in so he said so if my wife gets callhet husband was killed along with another family because his steering and brakes failed your going to tell her sorry for loss truck had no codes is now we have a truck we paid $58500.00 that is unsafe to drive i refuse to put my life or others in jeopardy im an emotional wreck I spent 2 days sick with worry can anyone help with guide us to some help

Vehicle was 300 miles out of warranty when I get a service trailer brake warning on my info center replaced a blown fuse and the fuse blows again, no trailer has ever been hooked up to this truck. Went online and inquired about this problem and there's thousands of post and complaints about this problem, even on a GM site there's a PI investigation about this problem, why doesn't GM just do a recall to fix a problem they know about. I'm getting ready to buy a travel trailer and now I don't know if its safe to pull it!

1ST TIME ENGINE CHECK LIGHT CAME ON HAD BRAKE CONTROL UPDATED. 2ND DID AUTO START AND AFTER THAT TRUCK WILL NOT START. AFTER 3 HOURS CAN START THE TRUCK BUT BRAKE CONTROL TRACTION CONTROL ABS WERE OFF. ENGINE HAS REDUCE POWER. DEALER UPDATED THE TRUCK AND CHECK BATTERY. 3RD TIME TRUCK WILL NOT POWER ON. AFTER JUMP STARTING THE TRUCK IT POPS UP ALL OF PREVIOUS MESSAGE. AND RUNNING BOARD KEEP POPPING IN AND OUT AND TRUCK WILL STILL DRAIN POWER EBVEN WHEN OFF.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2019 GMC SIERRA. THE CONTACT HAD A RECALL FOR THE BRAKES AND HAD THEM REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS SITTING IN A PARKED POSITION AND EVERYTHING SHUT DOWN. THE VEHICLE HAD NO POWER FOR ABOUT 25 MINUTES BEFORE IT WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED. THE PANEL STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SHUT DOWN FOR A MANUFACTURER RESET. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN AND THE BRAKES MALFUNCTIONED WHILE MAKING A LEFT-HAND TURN. THE VEHICLE CRASHED HEAD ON INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. I HAVE HAD THE 2019 SIERRA 1500 AT4 WITH 6.2 LITER ENGINE IN THE SHOP (8) TIMES SINCE PURCHASING IT IN LATE AUG 2019 FOR MULTIPLE ISSUES, INCLUDING THE ISSUES RELATING TO THE BRAKE SOFTWARE RECALL. THIS RESULTED IN ME ROLLING THROUGH A STOP SIGN WITHOUT ANY BRAKES. LUCKILY THERE WAS NO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. AS AN ENGINEER, I HAVE NO CONFIDENCE THAT THE ISSUE HAS BEEN FIXED LONG TERM BY GM. MY FAMILY WILL NO LONGER RIDE IN THE TRUCK WITH ME. AS A RESULT, I HAVE RETAINED AN ATTORNEY FOR THE PURPOSE OF FILING SUIT AGAINST GM FOR SELLING ME AN UNSAFE LEMON. EVEN FURTHER CONCERNING IS THE FACT THAT ON (2) OCCASIONS THE PARKING BRAKE HAS ENGAGED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 55 MPH. ONE TIME WHILE IN 4WD IN SNOW, AND THE OTHER TIME WHILE IN 2WD ON DRY PAVEMENT. THE FIRST TIME THERE WAS A DIAGNOSTIC CODE ASSOCIATED WITH THE PARKING BRAKE ENGAGING RANDOMLY. AFTER HAVING A RECALL ISSUE FIXED ON THE ABS BRAKING SYSTEM OF MY TRUCK, I REMOTED STARTED IT FROM GM'S ONSTAR APP, WHICH CAUSED THE DASHBOARD TO LIGHT UP LIKE A CHRISTMAS TREE AND GIVE A NUMBER OF ERRORS, INCLUDING A SOLID ENGINE LIGHT. GM ONSTAR DIAGNOSIS IDENTIFIED THAT THERE IS NOW ANOTHER ISSUE IN THE ABS BRAKING SYSTEM. THERE HAS BEEN NO MECHANICAL FAILURE AT THIS POINT, BUT I AM CONCERNED THEIR MAYBE AS OTHERS WITH THIS SAME ISSUE HAVE SEEN MECHANICAL FAILURE.

HAD BOTH RECALLS PERFORMED AND IMMEDIATELY THE FORWARD CAMERA COLLISION ALERT, LANE KEEP AND INTELLIBEAM SYSTEMS DIDN'T WORK. DELAER INFORMED ME THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE UPDATE AND I NEED A NEW CAMERA. THAT IS ON ORDER AND PENDING. MORE IMPORTANTLY, ABOUT 2 DAYS AFTER THE UPDATES THE TRUCK SHOWED ALERTS ABOUT THE BRAKES, TRACTION CONTROL AND STABILITRACK SYSTEMS. UPON DRIVING THE TRUCK THE POWER/VACUUM ASSIST SYSTEM FAILED AND THE BRAKE PEDAL NEARLY WENT TO THE FLOOR BEFORE ENGAGING BRAKES; I COULD BARELY STOP. RETURNED THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD ITS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE BRAKE RECALL UPDATE (THE TRUCK HAD NO SUCH SYMPTOMS BEFORE THE UPDATE). I WAS IN A PARKING LOT AND ONLY GOING 5 - 10 MPH, BUT STILL HAD DIFFICULTY STOPPING. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY INVESTIGATED THE ISSUE AND MADE A SOFTWARE UPDATE WORKING DIRECTLY WITH GM. FIVE DAYS AFTER PICKING MY VEHICLE UP, I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE DEALERSHIP SAYING THAT GM DOES NOT HAVE A PERMANENT FIX FOR THE ISSUE AND THAT I MAY EXPERIENCE BRAKE FAILURE AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES, WHEN I RETURNED TO MY TRUCK AND TURNED IT ON, MULTIPLE WARNING TONES BEGAN TO SOUND AND THE DASHBOARD WAS ILLUMINATED WITH MULTIPLE WARNING LIGHTS (ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, CHECK ENGINE, PARKING BRAKE) AND MESSAGES READING: "BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE 62MPH TOP SPEED," 'SERVICE TRAILER BRAKE SYSTEM,' 'STEERING ASSIST IS REDUCED DRIVE WITH CARE,' 'SERVICE ESC.' I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND ON MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE COURSE OF 20 MINUTES, EXITING THE VEHICLE, LOCKING THE DOORS, UNLOCKING THE DOORS, AND STARTING THE PROCESS FROM THE BEGINNING. I DECIDED I WOULDN'T BE DRIVING OVER 62MPH AS I WAS ONLY 2 MILES FROM MY HOME, SO I DECIDED TO BACK OUT AND DRIVE HOME WITH FULL INTENTIONS OF CALLING THE DEALERSHIP IN THE MORNING. WHEN I TRIED TO BACK OUT I REALIZED THAT I HAD ALMOST ZERO BRAKING POWER, HAVING TO ALMOST STAND UP ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE VEHICLE WITHOUT GIVING IT ANY GAS, AND TURNING WAS DIFFICULT (SIMILAR TO MANUAL STEERING IN A VINTAGE VEHICLE). I KNEW DRIVING HOME WOULD NOT BE SAFE. I TURNS THE VEHICLE OFF AND ON ONCE MORE AND ALL THE WARNING MESSAGES AND LIGHTS WERE NO LONGER THERE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ON AND IS STILL ON. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME AS THOUGH NOTHING HAPPENED, BUT AM FEARFUL THIS WILL HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, ESPECIALLY WHILE MY CHILDREN ARE IN THE CAR. I HAVE READ MULTIPLE FORUMS, THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT, WITH MANY OTHERS EXPERIENCING THE SAME EXACT ISSUE, SOMETIMES WHILE ACTUALLY DRIVING, IN 2019 GMC SIERRAS AND CHEVY SILVERADO'S. NOTICED MULTIPLE WARNING SOUNDS/LIGHTS, DASH READ "BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE 62MPH TOP SPEED", SERVICE TRAILER BRAKE SYSTEM", STEERING ASSIST IS REDUCED DRIVE WITH CARE" SERVICE ESC". THE ABS, CHECK ENGINE, BRAKE AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS WERE ALSO ILLUMINATED. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED MY LOCAL GMC DEALER (WHO IS 5 MILES AWAY) AND READ THEM ALL THE MESSAGES AND ASKED IF THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE TO THEIR LOCATION. AFTER A BRIEF HOLD, THE SERVICE TECH STATED THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE OVER. I ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE OUT ONTO RT6. WHILE STILL IN THE PARKING LOT, TRAVELING APPROX 10-15MPH I WAS BARELY ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. IT TOOK MY FULL POWER ON THE PEDDLE TO STOP, AND APPROXIMATE 20-30 FEET OF DISTANCE BEFORE IT STOPPED FULLY. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE SERVICE TECH BACK AND INFORMED HER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE WITH 5% OR SO BREAK CAPACITY. SHE PROVIDED THE GM NUMBER FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. THE TRUCK WAS TOWED TO THEIR SHOP A SHORT TIME AGO AND I AM AWAITING THEIR FEEDBACK. ON A SIDE NOTE, I WAITED IN THE TRUCK AS I DID NOT WANT TO SHUT IT DOWN, I WANTED THE SERVICE TECH TO SEE EXACTLY WHAT WAS ON THE SCREEN. AFTER ABOUT 30 MINS, WITH ME IN THE DRIVERS SEAT WITH THE KEYS, THE TRUCK SHUT ITSELF OFF. WHEN IT RESTARTED THE MESSAGES WERE GONE, BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED. LUCKILY I TOOK PHOTOS AND VIDEO RECORDED THIS ISSUE PRIOR TO. THE LOSS OF BRAKES FOR ANY ISSUE SHOULD BE TREATED WITH THE UTTERMOST CARE FOR SAFETY OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC. THIS SEEMLY KNOWN ISSUE WILL (IF NOT ALREADY) RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH IF NOT CORRECTED QUICKLY.

OCCURS WHILE DRIVING, AND RANDOM. CONDITION CREATES AN EXTREMELY HARD PEDDLE WITH EXTREMELY REDUCED BRAKING POWER. SAFE STOPPING DISTANCE IS INCREASED AT LEAST 3 FOLD. VEHICLE BRAKES WILL START WORKING AGAIN IF TRUCK IS LEFT PARKED AND IGNITION OFF AFTER 30 MINUTES. I BROUGHT THE TRUCK INTO THE SERVICING DEALER, THEY DROVE IT 30 MILES AND A WEEK LATER, GM INSTRUCTED ME TO PICK MY TRUCK BACK UP AFTER NO REPAIRS DO TO THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE. I EXPRESSED EXTREME CONCERN ABOUT SAFETY, AND GM STANCE IS, "NO CODES NO PROBLEM". I WAS INSTRUCTED BY GM TO SIMPLY BRING IT BACK IN WHEN MY BRAKES FAIL AGAIN. 2 WEEKS LATER, MY BRAKES FAILED AGAIN, CREATING A DANGEROUS SITUATION. ONCE AGAIN, THE TRUCK CORRECTED ITSELF AFTER SITTING WITH THE IGNITION OFF FOR 30 MINUTES. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALER, AND THEY DROVE IT AND "COULD NOT DUPLICATE CUSTOMER CONCERN" ONCE AGAIN. ONCE AGAIN I WAS INSTRUCTED TO BRING THE TRUCK BACK IN WHEN THE BRAKES FAIL DURING THEIR OPEN BUSINESS HOURS SO THAT THEY CAN SEE IT FOR THEMSELVES. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CONDITION, AND THIS TRUCK SHOULD BE OFF THE ROAD AND CONCERNING TO GM, BUT IT IS NOT. THROUGH RESEARCH, I HAVE FOUND MANY OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME TRUCK YEAR AND MODEL WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS, AND GM IS NEGLIGENT TOWARDS OUR SAFETY AND THE INNOCENT PEOPLE ON THE ROAD. AFTER 3RD TIME I TOOK TO DEALER THE MECHANIC GAVE ME A GMC MEMO THAT STATES THAT THIS IS NORMAL FOR THIS MODEL TRUCK TO DO THIS. MECHANIC STATED GM HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS ISSUE FOR YEARS. ARE YOU KIDDING ME ? SOUNDS LIKE POOR ENGINEERING. I WAS NEVER TOLD THIS WOULD HAPPEN PRE PURCHASE OR I WOULD OF NEVER BOUGHT THE TRUCK. HAVE HAD CONSTANT PROBLEMS WITH THIS TRUCK SINCE I BOUGHT IT. HAVE HAD THE SEAT BELT PILLAR COVER FALL OFF 3 TIMES DEALER SAYS THEY WILL CHANGE SEATBELT, WAITING OVER 2 MONTHS AND NO PARTS OR REPAIR. I HAVE A WARNING TO SERVICE BRAKE PAD SENSOR MONITOR. TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY SAY THEY CAN'T GET PARTS FOR IT YET BECAUSE GM IS ON STRIKE AND HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR PARTS AND REPAIR FOR OVER 2 MONTHS . HAVE HAD A STEERING WHEEL COLUMN WARNING ALSO. DEALER BLAMES EVERYTHING ON SOFTWARE ISSUE. MY DIAGNOSTIC REPORT EACH MONTH STATES TRUCK IS IN PERFECT ORDER EVEN THOUGH I HAVE HAD A WARNING LIGHT FOR OVER 2 MONTHS !!!!! NOW THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE SEATBELT PRETENSIONER THAT IT MIGHT CAUSE A FIRE ! OTHER CODES INCLUDEC2A17, U0100 U026A & U0415. GMC KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND THEY HAVE POSSIBLE FIX BUT IS NOT ISSUING A RECALL. DEALER INDICATES REPROGRAMED THE BRAKE SYSTEM CONTROL MODULE.WAR CODE 28YN28687675. CLEARED THE DTC AND ROADTEST. FOUND THE LIGHTS DID NOT COME BACK ON AND THE BRACK SYSTEM IS WORKING OK (JUST "OK") NOW. ALSO, GMC WILL NOT CONFIRM THE PROBLEM WILL NOT REOCCUR AGAIN.

I STARTED MY CAR AND I HAD 4 MESSAGES APPEAR ON THE DASH STATING(SERVICE ESC, SERVICE TRAILER BRAKE, BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE-62 MPH TOP SPEED AND STEERING ASSIST REDUCED DRIVE WITH CARE). I ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD AND NOTICED THAT I HAD LOST POWER STEERING AND WHEN I WENT TO BRAKE THERE WAS A DELAYED RESPONSE. IT TOOK THE VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY 4 TO 5 FEET TO COME TO A STOP AFTER BRAKING. ALSO THE ABS, CHECK ENGINE, BRAKE AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. I IMMEDIATELY TRIED TO DRIVE BACK HOME AND WHEN I DROVE IN TO MY DRIVEWAY, I SMASHED ON THE BRAKES AND I ALMOST DROVE THROUGH MY GARAGE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP IMMEDIATELY. I TRIED TO PRESS MY ONSTAR BUTTON FOR ROAD ASSISTANCE AND LOST ALL ELECTRICAL POWER. I CONTACTED ONSTAR WITH MY PHONE AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. CURRENTLY THE VEHICLE IS THERE BEING DIAGNOSED FOR THE PROBLEM.

JUNE 27TH I WAS LEAVING A GAS STATION IN NOVATO CA WITH MY DAUGHTER AND FATHER IN THE TRUCK. I SLOWLY STARTED MOVING THROUGH THE STATION AND NOTICED MY BRAKES WERE ALMOST COMPLETELY GONE. FORTUNATELY I WAS CLOSE TO HOME SO I DROPPED DOWN TO FIRST GEAR AND SLOWLY MOTORED HOME TO WAIT FOR THE TOW TRUCK. I HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO THE NOVATO CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TRUCK. I THEN BEGAN THE PROCESS OF REQUESTING GM TO BUY THIS TRUCK BACK AND ITS DEFINITELY NOT GOING TO BE A SHORT PROCESS. IM STILL CURRENTLY DRIVING THIS THING WITH NO DIAGNOSIS OF ANY BRAKE ISSUE. MY WIFE WON'T EVEN GET INTO THE TRUCK. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS TRUCK AND WISH THERE WAS A DEFINITIVE ANSWER TO WHAT HAPPENED. PICKED UP MY 2019 SIERRA AT4. I DROVE IT OFF THE LOT, GOT ABOUT 3 MILES. STOPPED TO GET MYSELF A CUP OF COFFEE. GOT BACK INTO THE TRUCK, STARTED IT AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, THE BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE, THE ABS LIGHT, TRACTION CONTROL ETC. CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD TO BRING IT BACK. (MIND YOU, I'VE ONLY ACTUALLY OWNED THE 63K TRUCK FOR AN HOUR) I BRING THE TRUCK BACK, THEY TAKE IT IN FOR ABOUT 20 MINS AND THEN THE MECHANIC TAKES THE CAR FOR A TEST DRIVE. HE'S GONNA ABOUT 15 MINUTES OR SO, COMES BACK AND SAYS THE TRUCK IS GOOD. THEY FIXED A RECALL RECENTLY BUT NEVER "RESET THE COMPUTER" HE SAYS "YOU'RE GOOD TO GO" I DRIVE THE 30 MINUTES HOME, PULL UP TO THE HOUSE, TURN THE TRUCK OFF. GO INSIDE TO GET MY LITTLE ONES BECAUSE THEY WANT TO GO FOR A RIDE IN DADDY'S NEW TRUCK.. WE GO OUTSIDE, I START THE TRUCK, AND IT'S THE SAME THING THESE ARE THE CODES THAT CAME UP. IT HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES AND THEY HAVEM'T FOUND ANY ISSUE. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. ON 5/28/19 I FILLED MY 2019 GMC SIERRA DENALI AT THE LOCAL GAS STATION. AS USUAL I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF. AFTER FUELING, I STARTED THE VEHICLE AND BEGAN PULLING OUT OF GAS STATION. UPON EXITING I LOST ALL BRAKING POWER AND THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. I WAS GOING APPROX. 5 MPH. I PULLED OVER AND HAD TO STEP ON THE BRAKE PEDAL UNTIL IT WAS ON THE FLOOR WITH EXTREME FORCE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALSO APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD. AT APPROX. 4:41PM I RECIEVED AN ONSTAR EMAIL WITH AN ANTILOCK BRAKE PROBLEM. EMAIL SUGGESTED I TAKE THE VEHICLE FOR SERVICE WITHIN 7 DAYS. I HAD GMC ROADSIDE TOW THE TRUCK FROM MY HOME TO THE NEAREST DEALER(STATEN ISLAND BUICK GMC) I LEASED THE VEHICLE FROM COLEMAN BUICK GMC AND WHEN I CONTACTED THEM I WAS TOLD THEY COULDN'T HELP AND THE DEALER THE TRUCK WAS TOWED TO IS STILL GM. I ALSO CONTACTED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE. RECEIVED A CASE # AND WAITING TO BE CONTACTED. AS PER COLEMAN THE VEHICLE HAS RECALLS FOR A TRAILER BRAKE MODULE AND PARK ASSIST. AS PER SI BUICK GMC THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY COMPUTER CODES. THE HYDRAULIC TEST SHOWED NO ISSUES. THEY CLAIM TO HAVE UPGRADED THE COMPUTER AND THE TRUCK WAS SAFE TO DRIVE AS OF 5/30. THEY WANT TO TEST DRIVE AGAIN ON 5/31 AND I ASSUME I'LL BE ASKED TO PICK UP MY TRUCK. I FIND THIS TO BE UNACCEPTABLE AND A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. THANKFULLY I WAS GOING 5MPH WHEN I LOST FULL BRAKING. I WAS TOLD IF THE ISSUE HAPPENS AGAIN TO BRING THE TRUCK BACK IN FOR DIAGNOSTICS AND REPAIR AS NEEDED. THIS SAFETY ISSUE CAN POTENTIALLY CAUSE PHYSICAL INJURY AND OR PROVE TO BE FATAL. DEPENDING ON TECHNOLOGY TO DETERMINE BRAKING CAPACITY IS ABSURD. 2019 GMC SIERRA ALSO HAVE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS DULY NOTED BY CUSTOMERS. FORUMS ALSO MARK THE SAME BRAKING PROBLEMS HAVE OCCURRED WITH OTHER OWNERS IN DIFFERENT STATES. A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED FOR THE SAFETY OF DRIVERS, PASSENGERS AND PEDESTRIANS! LIVES ARE AT RISK AND A RECALL IS NEEDED!

ON APRIL 2, 2019 I PARKED BREFILY FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES. UPON RE-ENTERING MY 2019 GMC SIERRA TRUCK WITH APPROXIMATELY 4500 MILES AND STARTING THE ENGINE I IMMEDIATELY RECEIVED MULTIPLE WARNING MESSAGES ON MY DASH PANEL. THEY WERE "SERVICE ESC" "SERVICE TRAILER BRAKE", "BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE" "STEERING ASSIST REDUCED" AND TO DRIVE NO FASTER THAN 62 MPH. PREVIOUSLY PRIOR TO PARKING I HAD NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER. I WAS IN A LOCATION WHERE I NEEDED TO GO SO I ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE BUT FOUND QUICKLY THAT THE BRAKE PEDEL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WITH VERY LIMITED OR BASICALLY NO BRAKING. THE STEERING BECAME VERY DIFFICULT WITH NO APPARENT POWER ASSIST. I DROVE IT APPROXIMATELY TWO MILES AND GOT TO A LOCATION WHERE I COULD PARK. I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND BACK ON AND THE PROBLEM DID NOT GO AWAY. I TURNED IT OFF AGAIN AND WAITED A COUPLE OF MINUTES AND THEN HEARD AN AUTOMATED COUPLE OF CLUNK SOUNDS FROM THE FRONT.. I STARTED IT UP AND EVERYTHING WAS OKAY EXCEPT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND STAYED ON THE REST OF EVENING. THE NEXT MORNING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL ON HOWEVER ABOUT TWENTY MINUTES LATER I NOTICED IT WAS OFF AND EVERYTHING HAS BEEN FINE SINCE. I HAD PLANNED TO TAKE IT TO THE GMC DEALER HOWEVER WITH NO PROBLEM SHOWING NOW AND FROM PAST EXPERIENCE WITH THE DEALERSHIPS I DECIDED THERE WAS NO NEED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT UNTIL THE SYMPTOMS COME BACK. I FOUND ON THE INTERNET LATER THAT THERE ARE NUMEROUS INSTANCES WHERE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MANY OTHER 2019 GMC SIERRA OWNERS. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A EXTREMELY SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT NEEDS IMMEDIATE ATTENTION ESPECIALLY WITH THE NEAR TOTAL BRAKING SYSTEM FAILURE!

I AM A HEAVY HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR FOR WVDOH AND WHILE WORKING ON I 81 SB IN MARTINSBURG, WV THIS MORNING AROUND 2:00 AM WHILE PERFORMING MY DUTIES I ATTEMPTED TO PULL OUT OF MY LANE CLOSURE INTO TRAFFIC WHEN MY TRUCK LITERALLY GOT STUCK HALFWAY OUT INTO LIVE TRAFFIC. IT WAS AS IF I WAS STOMPING ON THE BRAKES INSTEAD OF GIVING IT GAS. FORTUNATELY I REACTED SWIFTLY AND PUT THE TRUCK IN REVERSE TO BACK INTO MY LANE CLOSURE PREVENTING A COLLISION WITH A TRACTOR TRAILER TRAVELING AT SPEEDS IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH. I WAS LITERALLY SHAKING WHEN I REALIZED HOW CLOSE OF A CALL IT ACTUALLY WAS AND THAT NOT ONLY COULD I OR THE TRUCK DRIVER HAVE BEEN KILLED, BUT SO COULD THE WORKERS ON MY JOB HAVE BEEN INJURED AND/OR KILLED. I HAD TO HAVE MY TRUCK TOWED BACK TO MY FIELD OFFICE. FOR SOME REASON THE TRUCK STARTED DRIVING PROPERLY AGAIN. THERE IS DEFINITELY SOMETHING WRONG AND IT IS EXTREMELY FORTUNATE THAT NO INJURIES OCCURRED ON MY PROJECT. WHILE DRIVING MY TRUCK APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH ON A STREET, I HEARD THE VEHICLE NOTIFICATION ALARM SOUND, I LOOKED DOWN AT THE DASH AND HAD SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED:I HAD FOUR MESSAGES: SERVICE ESC SERVICE TRAILER BRAKE BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE - 62 MPH TOP SPEED STEERING ASSIST REDUCED DRIVE WITH CARE LIGHTS ON DASH THAT WERE ILLUMINATED ABS CHECK ENGINE BRAKE TRACTION CONTROL BEFORE I COULD READ EACH WARNING LIGHT, A RED STOP LIGHT WAS APPROACHING. I WAS AT THAT TIME I PRESSED ON THE BRAKES AND REALIZED THAT MY BRAKES WERE EXTREMELY SPONGEY. I FIGURED I ONLY HAD ABOUT 10% BRAKING POWER. WITH MY TWO YEAR OLD IN THE BACK SEAT, I PUSHED AS HARD AS I COULD TO STOP MY TRUCK. LUCKILY, BY THE GRACE OF GOD, I WAS ABLE TO STOP MY TRUCK WITHOUT REAR ENDING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. MY TRUCK WAS THEN TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. I BOUGHT THE TRUCK 5 DAYS PRIOR. MY TRUCK HAS APPROXIMATELY 161 MILES ON IT. THE DEALER TOLD ME THE NEXT DAY I NEEDED A NEW MASTER CYLINDER AND HYDRO BOOST. PROBABLY THE ABSOLUTE WORSE COMPONENT TO FAIL ON THE DRIVER WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION.

HAVE ABOUT 6000 MILES ON MY 2019 GMC SEIRRA DENALI 5.3 . I'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING A VERY TROUBLING ISSUE BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP ONCE ALREADY AND HAD A HARD TIME CONVINCING THEM THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE TRUCK .EVERY TIME I DRIVE FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME OR IDLE FOR 10+ MINS WHEN I SHIFT FROM PARK TO DRIVE I CANNOT GO FASTER THAN 5 MPH WITHOUT THE REAR BRAKES LOCKING UP. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS SOME KIND OF LIMP MODE OR WHAT .
