Tailgate opened on its own while driving, creating a safety hazard where items inside could have fallen out. The tailgate was secured prior to driving.
The OnStar System completely shut down. The module stopped working while driving and now there is no communication to the vehicle.
I received a new engine. Went in 8/15 - 9/10. Truck was dead on 9/22 when State Farm sent out a guy to replace the windshield that came back broken from the dealership. I had put in a new battery on 4/17, before I even knew about the recall. I got the battery out and replaced under warranty from AutoZone. Before we connected the 2nd new battery, my friend checked the oil...just for fun. There's barely any oil on the dipstick. Service guy told me I'm checking the oil wrong, that it needs to be running for a while, so that's why it's reading low. Okay!!!! LOL. 7 days later, truck was dead again. Last week, 10/21, I'm told by GM Customer Support to Not have it towed in yet until I hear back from a senior advisor, after telling her my long winded story. She said it would be within 48 hours. 72 hours passed and nothing. Supposedly I'm receiving a call at 12:51pm today, yes that's correct, that's literally what they told me when I called in yesterday. I'm having the truck towed in today, 10/29. I continue to be jerked around, ignored, lied to from all angles of GM. My truck has been inoperable and/or unsafe to drive for over 6 months now, costing me all of my income from my 2 jobs that require my truck. GM needs to be held accountable.
trailer brake control is junk, it is a known problem! While driving the control shut of the brakes of the trailer. Had a fully loaded trailer 14,000 pounds with no trailer brakes, ended up going through red light, because the trucks brakes where not enough to stop trailer!
My OnStar module failed after 2 years, causing my check engine light to illuminate. The replacement has been unavailable for a year due to the large number of consumers fighting for a limited supply of replacement parts. This has placed myself and my passengers at undo risk as my ability to access the key safety features associated with OnStar, including but not limited to: crash detection, emergency notifications, and location assistance. This problem was first diagnosed at Bristol Chevrolet and then later inspected and confirmed at Crabtree GMC.
The vehicle has stalled on multiple occasions while driving/shortly after driving, creating a serious safety hazard. On one occasion, GMC arranged towing because the truck stalled down the road and would not restart. GMC and the dealer have been notified each time. Since June 2025, I have repeatedly sought completion of Recall L87 and repair of the stalling condition. The dealership has declined or failed to complete the recall/repair, citing staffing issues and later claiming they did not have the correct oil. This recall was announced in April 2025 and my truck has been to the service center many times since, at one point it was there for 2 weeks and yet no one can help me with the issue. The truck was in the dealer’s possession for approximately two weeks without repair of this in July of 2025. GMC Customer Care initially indicated a buyback could be considered, then later stated they cannot review for repurchase due to a stop/sell hold on L87. see attachments! The stop/sell hold now prevents me from selling or trading the vehicle, leaving me with an unsafe and depreciated truck that GMC and its dealer have not repaired. The truck is also approaching three years in service, which heightens my need for prompt resolution. These facts satisfy “substantial impairment” and “failure to repair within a reasonable number of attempts/period of time” under Louisiana Lemon Law (La. R.S. 51:1941 et seq.) and constitute breach of warranty under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. The repeated stalling establishes a safety defect, and the extended time out of service and inability/refusal to complete the recall meet statutory standards for relief. This put my son, myself and other in direct risk and is continuing without the proper resolution.
Recently, I just purchased my vehicle from Wally Edgar Chervolet with no open recalls on the vehicle. As of September 29th, 2025 for my very first oil change on the vehicle I was made aware for 4 OPEN Recalls which was told to me at the time of purchase. The dealership closed the all recalls without actually checking my make the vehicle was safe to drive. The Recall Numbers are: N252510321, N222362040, N212356230, N222357620.
The front chrome grill indicated in the recall came off while my wife and I were driving at 70 miles per hour. A big rig was passing in the on coming lane at the time. The part came off striking our front windshield almost causing a wreck and causes emotional trauma. It was a very scary experience. Our local dealer supposedly ordered the part two months or more ago from GM. They told us two days after the failure the part was still not available. I called GM who stayed the part was shipped well over a month and a half ago. Someone isn’t telling the truth. This incident should never have happened to us since it was a known safety recall. It should have been replaced.
I was sitting outside , and then all of a sudden my tailgate on my truck opened upped. And I heard there’s a recall on the latch but apparently it’s not on my truck when I looked it up on Google. It does say some 1500s have the problem. I am very worried that it’s gonna open up in a parking lot on a car or a concrete bumper. Can you please look into this? My truck is going in for service next month and I would like to get it fixed with no charge of course because of the recall. Please call me if you have any questions. [XXX] . Vehicle showed me error code “ brake failure dont drive over 43mph “ And some other error codes I took the vehicle to the dealer because it was serious They made me sign a diagnostic fee document that i will be responsible for the diagnostic But the issue was just battery needed to be replaced according to the dealer we did the repair at the dealer Battery + hours + diagnostic But the misleading error codes made me take the car to dealer what was unnecessary So please look into it Customer are getting charged for unnecessary repairs because of misleading error
My 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 shows message "Shift To Park" when turning off, even though it has been shifted to park. Have to play with shifter to get it to stop, sometimes turning it back on and off will do trick. Locking it with remote works most of the time but this last time it took over 10 minutes .
The radiator needs to be replaced on the 3.0L due to a leak in the seam of the radiator. The dealer has stated that they have had a few in the shop recently due to the same issue. There are a lot of complaints online that have the same issue, and customers have had to pay $3000 for the same replacement.
The OnStar module is no longer working. When I purchased the vehicle, the green light did not turn on. I called customer service, and they advised me to take it to the dealership since they were unable to connect to the vehicle. I am unable to contact emergency services in case of an accident, and I cannot access services like remote location and remote start from the mygmc app. I have seen several people online state that their module failed as well. It's a common occurrence that falls onto the customer to pay for. An update to the module seems to be the reason so many modules are failing.
The tailgate keeps dropping while driving and while parked. The key fob is in a protected area or not near truck at all when this occurs
The dealer is telling me there is a faulty engine coolant, flow control valve on this vehicle and multiple other people are having the same issue. The part is on backorder and takes months to arrive. They are telling me I can drive the vehicle, but it becomes a safety issue because the engine thinks it is overheating And goes into reduced acceleration mode, which can impact safely driving the vehicle. Pulling out in traffic and not being able to accelerate can be extremely dangerous.
This truck is burning oil faster than it takes us to do an oil change we have to check it once a week to make sure it had oil in it. I have seen online I am not the only one having this issue this year make and model. I want to report this problem.
I am unsure except for what they told me the engine completely seized up I was heading back from Grand Junction Colorado over Vail Pass nothing appeared wrong with the engine it was going fine and then completely powered itself down and stopped at the top of the pass would not come back on cost me 1100 to tow it down from a mountain getting no assistance from GMC other than they tell me one thing the dealer tells me another this is not the first time I've had problems with this it was in the shop from December through February no reimbursements no nothing nothing but problems since I bought it no help I've tried to do my best but my husband passed away at the time of all this was going on I could really use some guidance and some answers and what I should do they're telling me 8 to 10 weeks and they're not promising any kind of new warranty with this engine take what I have or buy an extended one from them that just doesn't right
Power loss at lower gearing speeds and also separator loss of motion when applying gas to make truck move after complete stops. Also blind spot monitoring glitch saying vehicles are beside randomly when no traffic nearby issue to safety by drivability problems and safety components effecting correct monitoring of surroundings.check engine light also has been on more then 2 - 5 times dealer always stating due to sensors in driving components.has been inspected numerous times for similar issues with check engine lights and drive ability issues with loading power random times unsure of where problem exactly resides. Main vehicle for transportation for infant cannot have safety or mechanical issues u resolved but GMC has not corrected this problem at this time and when taking to dealership they asking for charges for inspection of power issues.
Truck will not fully shut off when turned off will say shift to park for 5/10 minutes after it is turned off finally drained my. 6 month old batterie
While using reverse camera system has burly image and grid lines in front and rear are missing with a light blue hour glass showing in the top left corner.
Hi, I was driving on [XXX] and my radio volume went to full volume 100% by itself. The radio would not shut off and none of the controls would work, everything froze. I kept turning the volume button down and the volume bar on the screen showed that it was trying to minimize, but it wouldn't stay. It kept going to full volume. Finally, after I kept pushing the off and mute buttons, the radio shut off and was unresponsive. When I reached my destination and shut the truck off and restarted it, the radio then worked as it normally should. This happened to me yesterday, and I'm still having trouble hearing and my ears hurt. I researched this online and found that there are many other people that had this same scenario with their sierra. I wanted to reach out and report this. It is a known issue the OnStar modules fail and are on back order. They make you pay for 3 years of service on supply you a part that fails. This makes the phone app not work unbeknown to me when I had my kids and dog in the vehicle creating a safety is. This makes remote start and lock unoperable. This makes the GPS as well as the clock unoperable. This makes the sos call in emergency not operable.
When traveling on the interstate at 75 MPH the trim at the top of the grill broke free, hit the windshield and blew over the vehicle. The front of the grill you can visibly see where the metal clips fail and were completely sheered off. GM Authority has a bulletin published on 11/1/2024 citing other incidents of 2022 GMC Sierra AT4 owners who have had the same situation happen to them.
The tailgate will drop completely down by itself while driving at highway speeds. It has happened numerous times while driving on the interstate highway when I had large items in the back of the truck. Items such as propane cylinder, large cooler with ice and drinks, luggage, furniture, etc. The first time was a few days after buying the truck in Sep 2022. I reported it to the dealer, the ordered a replacement electrical component and replaced it. That did not correct the problem. I took it to another dealer in early 2024 and they worked on it but said it was going to be a recall by GMC but they did not know when. It's been almost a year and the tailgate still falls down by itself completely at random. It just happened again today while driving in heavy traffic on city streets. Fortunately, I didn't have anything in the back of the truck. It happened once during the night while the truck was in my garage and hit the garage door. I no longer put anything in the back of the truck, but I am concerned that it happens to others or will happen and someone on the highway will be seriously injured when a large heavy item falls out on the interstate highway. It can cause a major accident and GMC is obviously not as concerned as they should be. It's not the dealer's fault and is solely GMC's responsibility to correct this condition before someone is injured or killed.
Tailgate opens up in Park and/or when Truck is shut off. Tailgate continues to click after it opens itself. I have found my truck battery dead if left connected overnight. For the last week i disconnect the battery when i shut the truck off, and reconnect when i want to start it to insure getting to work on time. Same problem as what is described on the current Recall N242469160. But yet my truck is not show a recall on it.
UNKNOWN - While driving down the highway, the front hood molding flew off the front of my truck after a semi passed by me going the opposite direction. No physical contact was made to any part of my vehicle had occurred. The molding piece flew directly behind me on the highway and almost hit another car. I pulled over and inspected the front and noticed that the plastic clips that hold the molding piece in place had snapped off. After researching online, I have found numerous instances of people reporting the same thing happening to them.
Trim piece of chromed plastic on the front of the hood broke off and flew over the truck while traveling at 65mph. Fortunately no vehicles were close behind, but it could have damaged a following vehicle and/or caused them to swerve to avoid. This part is obviously a defective assembly. Photo available
While driving down the highway, then without any warning the front upper lip of truck grille flew off randomly. The broken piece shattered windshield and caused damage to body of vehicle. Reported to dealer, but they said I must have hit something to cause the damage. I did not hit anything. I was simply driving down the highway. This was a failure of the truck.
Infotainment system volume shot up full blast on its own with no operator control or influence. The volume of music was so high that it was hard to concentrate on driving while trying to reduce the volume and could not. Had to pull over on the side of the road and shut off vehicle to get the volume to go down. This could be a potential safety risk when driving at higher speeds causing the driver to not concentrate on the road and other surrounding vehicles. I reported issue to dealership and have not had it looked at yet as it has only happened one time. The volume indicator flashed on the screen and showed the volume indicator bar going up to full blast. No other indicators or warning were present at the time.
The tailgate is randomly opening during driving. I had some equipment fall out on a busy four lane road, I only knew because I had my window down and heard some clanging. I looked out my rear mirror to see tools going all over the road. I had to go back and close a lane with the truck and clean up everything in traffic before a crash was caused. It happened recently again, but luckily, my camper shell kept the gate up this time even though it was unlatched. I thought maybe the key fob, which has a button to open the tailgate, was being pressed. However, I just tested it in the parking lot, and the key fob does not work when moving (as it shouldn’t). No codes are being shown on the dashboard. The tailgate is actuated electronically by the computer, and there is no mechanical link or handle to open it.
The trim piece above the grill and below where the hood sits when closed failed/cracked at all attachment points (8 clips and 2 screws). This happened at highway speeds. The trim piece which is approximately 4-5 ft long and 3-4 in wide flew above the hood, struck the windshield and then flew behind the vehicle and may have struck another vehicle or motorcycle rider. This is a dangerous situation that could have injured or killed a motercycle rider if it had struck them. Apparently, based upon postings in forums and speaking with repair shops and the dealership this has happened a lot with this particular piece.
The volume of my stereo went to 100% max volume, the only way to turn it down was to continue to turn the dial as it continued to go up in volume. Once I was able to get out of traffic and pull over I turned off my vehicle and opened my door to turn it off but when I restarted it happened again. I tried restarting again and waiting longer between and it went back to normal volume control. This has happened twice since, my hands aren’t on any controls when it happens.
The stereo turned all the way up and the sound buttons on the steering wheel plus the manual volume button were not responsive and it would not turn off. I turned the truck off and it still was on for 15 minutes. I turned it from Sirius XM to FM and then the volume worked but it hurt my ears and should never happen again.
The upper molding the the grille broke off while driving at high speed and likely caused issues for following cars. After researching the issue, this is a common problem with owners of this model. It is $1,500 to get replaced.
The top part of the grill flew off while driving down the freeway and almost hit another car. Look at forums this is a very common issue and GMC needs to recall it.
Driving down the road and a large section of my grill came flying off the truck, hitting my windshield and the car being me. I pulled over as soon as it happened and the car that was hit kept going and did not stop. After a search on the internet it has brought up serval cases of this happening to other owners. This would of killed a motorcycle driver if he was behind me. We need action. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Have a 2022 GMC Sierra Limited with the 6.2L motor. About two months ago I started to have a shift to park message come up when turned off vehicle. The vehicle is in park as it sits on my downhill driveway and doesn't move. The computer is not sensing that the transmition is in park. I know that the areother models under the GM brand that are having this issue, "Shift to Park" as they call it. I would think this would be covered under the powertrain warrenty but dealership says no. I am not looking to drop $800 on repairs on the same issue they are having in other vehicles. There is a recall for the other models but not the 22 Sierra. Any information you could provide would be appreciated.
Tailgate open/clise module continues to open without me hitting the auto release device in the truck OR fob. NOTE: GMC built in Quebec! It resulted in a call to the dealership this spring, an inspection and they indicated it was fine. The tailgate opened while I was parking my new Airstream and it caused damage to the propane tanks and tanks cover AND $1700 damage to my tailgate.
The contact owned a 2022 GMC Sierra. The contact stated that while driving at 45 MPH, the vehicle went into safe engine mode and stopped. The vehicle attempted to restart without application multiple times. There was an abnormal grinding sound detected. The contact pushed the start/stop button, and thirty seconds later, the contact noticed white smoke from the engine, and the vehicle caught fire. There were no warning lights illuminated. The occupants were able to exit the vehicle. There were no reported injuries, crashes or police reports filed. the air bags deployed due to the fire. The fire department extinguished the fire. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. The insurance agent conducted an independent investigation and found that the wire harness in the engine was hot and severed the fuel line. There was fuel in the engine. The insurance company deemed the vehicle a total loss. The manufacturer was contacted, who took possession of the vehicle from the insurance company. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
Mileage: 30,000
MY TRUCK HAS THE PRO TAILGATE AND THE INNER GATE HAS COME OPEN SEVERAL TIMES. IT HAS STOP OPENNING ON IT OWN NOW, BUT IT WILL NOT OPEN BY THE BUTTON ON THE TAIL GATE. IT SEEMS GM IS AWARE THEY HAVE A PROBLEM, BUT ONLY ISUED A RECALL ON CERTAIN TRUCKS AND NOT ALL TRUCKS WITH THE PRO TAILGATE,
On June 8th I started my truck and it made a strange unfamiliar noise before starting. I thought it was bizarre. Shortly after I stopped in traffic and my truck stalled out. It stayed on but when I went to give it gas I didn’t move. So I restarted the engine and the same strange noise was made. Along with the noise I smelled something funny so I pulled into a gas station. Little did I know my truck was on fire. I got the vehicle away from the gas pumps and within 5 minutes the whole truck was on fire. Before this fire I had brought the vehicle in for service due to a check engine light multiple times the codes will be listed below. I also had an interlock device installed in the truck at the time.
While driving, the infotainment system will suddenly increase volume to 100%. Have had this happen 4 times. Unable to turn sound down the last instance (or turn it off). Was able to find a safe spot to park and turn the vehicle off. This did nothing, as the radio would not turn off regardless of what I had done. After roughly 5 minutes of the vehicle being shut off, the radio finally turned off. No matter how many times the truck was turned on and off, the issue persisted. The only "fix" that worked was to let the vehicle for some time, which seemed to reset the system. THIS IS A MAJOR HAZARD AS HAVING SUDDEN SHOCK FROM VOLUME ISSUES IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. The sudden increase in volume nearly caused an accident on the road (each time). Vehicle is being brought to a dealer today to figure out the issue, but I see that it has been reported in several forums online with no fixes appearing to be available. Prior to the issue, there was no other issues or prior symptoms to alert of an issue.
Rear tailgate randomly opens on its own while driving. Items from the rear bed can fall out causing a traffic hazard
I am reaching out to you to make a report of a safety issue involving the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali model trucks (Vin [XXX] ). I recently read that there was a recall involving the 2020-2023 model 2500 GMC Sierra’s and their Multi-Latch tailgate. I have checked with GMC and my local dealer to see when or if my model would be included in this recall and they have no answer/response for me. The reason for my concern is that I had an issue last year with my tailgate dropping while in motion while pulling my camper. The result was that my tailgate was destroyed and damages were made to my camper as well with both needing to be repaired. The only reason that the bikes, propane tanks, etc that was in the back of my truck didn’t fall out and into moving traffic was because my camper was hooked up thankfully. Its very concerning to know that this same thing can happen again in the future at any given moment with the lack of a recall on my specific model truck. If the things I were hauling would have flown out the back at 60-70 mph it could have ended a lot worse for someone who was following behind me on the road. Additionally, the damages had to go on my driving record as an “at fault” accident which in turn caused a rise in my personal insurance rates. My insurance company assured me that the only way this can be removed was if an active recall were to be addressed with my model truck for the tailgate issue. The radio volume went up to max an it's own twice, both times it almost caused a crash. Nothing would make to volume turn down, not the radio volume dial or the buttons on the steering wheel. I had to pull over, stop and turn off the truck.
On Feb. 27, 2024 approx. 04:15 left for gym and work. When arrived at gym and began to park, I put truck in reverse to check back line and noticed I was looking at my license plate. I then put into park and got out of truck and shut tailgate. Thinking not much about it, I must've touched the button the night before and hit a bump on way into work. Since I have a toneau cover, it fits pretty tight and I typically have to pull it down by hand. I heard about recall that day after I got to work from co workers. Checked my VIN, but did not come up as one of the tailgate recalls. March 7, 2024- Left again for gym and work approximately same time in AM. As I was driving into gym and work, another car coming up close behind me wanted to pass. The car then suddenly backed off to a considerable distance. As I got to gym and put in reverse to check my back line, I noticed I was looking at my license plate again. I know that I did not touch a button either on FAB or tailgate. because I park in garage and leave FAB in a secure place where it can not be pressed. If tailgate was down in my garage, it would have stopped garage door from opening and/or damaged my garage door. In either instances, I did not get a sensor alarm going off on my dash for "tailgate down", If its even equipped with that alarm.
Multi-Function Tailgate keeps opening due to malfunction in tailgate switches. Going down the highway and suddenly the tailgate opens and materials in bed of truck are at risk of flying out the back. It is my understanding that they have recalled GMC Sierra 2500 models and above. Why not the 1500 GMC Denali model which is the same exact tailgate?
The onstar module has failed twice.
Electronic tailgate opened on its own. The tailgate opened while I was either driving down the highway or when it was parked earlier. When I went to park the truck I back the dropped tailgate into a poll because I believed the tailgate was locked closed but it had opened on its own. There is no recall on my vehicle but I believe there has been over 320,000 vehicles like mine that have recalls on them for the same issue. Tailgate opens on its own. I have not had it inspected because they want to charge $179 to run a diagnostic check on it. There were no warnings at all. I've owned the vehicle for around 3 months and there has been one or two time that I questioned if I left the tailgate open or not.
Tailgate inadvertently opens. There is no visual or audible alarm to inform me the rear tailgate is open. This is a Denali package truck. I have lost items, coolers, small folding tables among small items without warning. Most of the time I was traveling on a highway. Could cause accidents, injury to others as well as I have lost my belongings. I have had the dealership as well as 2 requests with GM customer service with no corrective results. The trucks tailgate will show an open display warning but only when top tailgate is down/open. If the whole tailgate is down/open there is no visual warning on dash. I believe there was an error in placement of open tailgate sensor when truck was produced. 2023 models have correct sensor placement and visual dash warning. The 2022 was a new redesign doe the Sierra class truck and there was a mistake where the open tailgate sensor was placed. I went to GMC virtual site and the 2023 model examined by GMC employee on visual check shows on complete tail gate down/open the same dash visual tail gate open alarm I see on my 2022 when only the top part of whole tailgate is open. My Dealership and GMC customer service have been involved for the past year. I have been reimbursed by GMC for my losses but problem still exists.
While driving, on its own, the radio volume surged to 100%. All radio controls were unresponsive, and the volume was maxed-out.. Volume bar on the console display was reading 100%. Was unable to turn the radio down or off. Issue did not resolve until I drove home and turned the vehicle off.
The truck was parked indoors for a two days for tailgate repair/paint. The fire department responded to a fire at 6am 10/11/2023 and per their report the fire was started in the engine area of a 2022 GMC Sierra Denali. I am not the owner of the truck, my vehicle was damaged as a result. Owner's insurance has inspected the vehicle.
We purchased a new GMC truck 1/27/23. Immediately there was a problem with a bad vibration. We first took it in for service 2/2/23 at 178 miles. The tires were balanced several times. Then they completely replaced the tires. The vehicle still vibrates at highway speeds. We took a trip in June that was a 6.5 hour trip. The vibration seems to get worse going up big hills. So when we returned we scheduled the sixth service visit. We took the truck in July 5th to Darrell Waltrip GMC. They kept our truck for 22 days. The first day, they asked us to come in and ride with the service department. He saw how bad the vibration was. He told my husband it seemed to be coming from beneath the truck and it was not the tires. GM made them swap tires and wheels. That did nothing. Talking to the service manager one day and he was telling us about occasionally “rare vibrations” and having to replace something in the transmission. At the end of that conversation, he called us by another name. Apparently another customer was having this “rare vibration” as well. An engineer finally showed up and drove our truck. He said it’s normal for a truck to have a severe vibration and the other new trucks on the lot does the same. I know there are class action lawsuits regarding the “Chevy shake”. Our year model is pending a new lawsuit. After researching, it seems they have produced vehicles for years that have driveshaft issues. They also had problems with Goodyear tires. We feel they are ignoring a long time problem that they obviously are aware of. Every other manufacturer can produce a truck that doesn’t vibrate at highway speeds or when in a bind going up a bigger hill. We worry something is going to break going down the road. We requested they declare the truck a lemon and repurchase but GM refused the request.
The vehicle is brand new with only 300 miles on the clock. Today while driving to work and listening to XM-radio the volume spiked to max and would not respond to controls to lower volume or turn off. I was able to lower by switching to a different output. It was very detracting and potentially dangerous since the Bose speakers are very loud.
Vehicle does not have a notification via chime or message stating the rear tailgate is open. There is a button on the dash that can open the tailgate when the vehicle is stopped at an intersection, this can be inadvertently pressed without the driver knowing, causing the vehicle to drop any cargo when accelerating or leaving the intersection. This can lead to serious injury or to any vehicle behind it. Many owners have already reported losing cargo such as tool boxes, paint cans and groceries spilling throughout intersections.
The back-up/reverse cameras black out mid action and also once the vehicle is put in Reverse. During inclement weather conditions, a car stopped abruptly in front of me to avoid a huge pool of water on the highway and the forward collision braking system did not kick in and now the light is illuminated on the dash board and won't turn off.
Electrical component- Dashboard is constantly glitching, blue-tooth will not connect properly, electrical appears to turn off randomly while driving to the point we have to pullover because it appears and feels like the truck is turning off. Power step running boards malfunction- They don't open or close when they are supposed to. Power step running boards also malfunction while driving. It is a risk because we've had to pull over in conditions that aren't safe, putting a family of five in danger. The problem has been reported to the dealership and manufacturer and has gone unresolved.
While operating the vehicle, the radio went to full volume on its own. Attempts to turn it down did not work. The radio turned down, when the buttons on the steering wheel were pressed, but turned back up faster than I could turn it down. The power button on the radio also didn't work. I tried pushing it and then tried pushing and holding it down for a few seconds. I had to end up grabbing my phone and shutting the Bluetooth off on the phone to get it to stop. Very unsafe and distracting. It has been documented in a forum where others have had the issue as well. It is the new infotainment system and appears to be a software bug. Here is a link to a forum where others have had the same issue. https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/260308-2022-refreshed-sierra-audio-issue-max-volume/
I have owned this GMC Sierra now for 4 weeks. I went to trailer our new boat and trailer with EOH braking system and during my ride home I would a Trailer brakes disabled pop up then finally stayed on and lost all braking to the trailer. Trailer was check and all good then found out that many others with GMC Sierras and Chevy Silverados had had this issue now for the past 3-4 months with GM still not having a solution yet we all have defective and very dangerous vehicles losing all braking with the trailer due to this issue. They need to be pressured to get this fix ASAP before someone dies. Here is the forum with many others complaining about this issue. https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/260521-2022-silverado-faulty-trailer-brake-controller-and-buggy-camera-when-trailer-connected/
Vehicle is equipped with a max trailering package and includes an integrated brake controller. Trailer brakes become disabled within 1-2 brake applications. A "Check trailer brakes" warning is displayed on the DIC followed by a "Trailer Brakes Disabled" alert. GM has issued a Bulletin No. PIT5948. Currently there is no work around or fix for the problem.
