DOOR HANDLE ON THE DRIVER'S DOOR SEPARATED FROM THE OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE/LATCH ASSEMBLY. THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY FOR BOTH DRIVER'S SIDE DOORS WERE SEPARATING FROM THE VEHICLE DOORS. WHEN THE DRIVER'S DOOR HANDLE COMPLETELY CAME OFF THE VEHICLE IT COULD BE REINSERTED, HOWEVER IT WAS NOT CONNECTED TO THE LATCH TO FUNCTION AS A MEANS TO ENTER THE VEHICLE. PULLING ON THE HANDLE TO OPEN THE DOOR WAS NOT FUNCTIONAL. THE DOOR HANDLES WILL FIRST BEGIN TO SEPARATE FROM THE DOOR AND THEN EVENTUALLY THE HANDLE/LATCH FUNCTIONALITY IS LOST. I HAD TO PAY THE GMC DEALERSHIP $401.44 TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLIES FOR BOTH OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOORS. *TR

THE HINGES CROSS OVER TOP OF EACH OTHER WITH THE TWO EDGE PLANES OF EACH PART ACTING SIMILAR TO A BOLT CUTTER OR TREE LIMB CUTTER. ONE OF THE EDGE PLANES HAS A RELIEF CUT WHICH ACTS AS A TRAP AS VERY LITTLE MOVEMENT OF THE DOOR ELIMINATES THE OPTION OF PULLING BACK A FINGER OR SMALL HAND.
