This Problem Across All Years
WE OWN A 2010 YUKON AND HAVE A CRACKED DASH BOARD, THIS LOOKS TO BE THE RESULT OF POOR DESIGN AND CHEEP PLASTIC. I SEE THAT 1000 OF OTHER GM/CHEVY OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE. FROM WHAT I CAN SEE THE DEALERSHIP WOULD LOVE TO FIX THIS AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE $2,000. YOU WOULD THINK THAT AFTER YOU PAY CLOSE TO $50,000 THAT GM WOULD CONSIDER THIS AN IMPORTANT CUSTOMER RELATION ISSUE. ALSO NOT TO MENTION THE SAFETY HAZARD THIS POSES.

I HAVE TRIED FOR OVER A YEAR TO HAVE THE AIRBAG SERVICED, NO DEALERSHIP HAS THE INFORMATION OR EQUIPMENT. DASH HAS EVEN CRACKED FROM THIS AIRBAG.

THE DASH PANEL IS CRACKED IN SEVERAL PLACES AND COULD AFFECT THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT DURING A CRASH. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THE CAUSE OF THE CRACKS ARE DUE TO A COMBINATION OF THE FLEXING OF THE AUTOMOBILE, LACK OF PROPER SUPPORT AND HEAT.

IT IS GETTING LARGER AND HAS STARTED TO EXPOSE THE COMPONENTS UNDERNEATH THE DASH/AIRBAG COVER. THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED ON NEWS CHANNELS AND A LAW SUIT HAS APPARENTLY BEEN FILED IN FLORIDA. HOPEFULLY THE DEALERSHIP OR GM WILL REPAIR.
