TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP FAILED AT LEAST SEVEN TIMES. THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL WITHOUT WARNING WHILE TRAVELING AT ANY GIVEN SPEED. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART WHEN THE FAILURE WOULD OCCUR AND WOULD HAVE TO BE TOWED TO HER PLACE OF RESIDENCE. INITIALLY, THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALER UNDER THE FACTORY WARRANTY. ALL OTHER REPAIRS WERE MADE BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE AND WAS OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 144,000.

DT: THE CONTACT COMPLAINED ABOUT A FUEL SYSTEM PROBLEM. WHEN PUTTING GAS IN THE VEHICLE AND FILLING IT UP THE GAS SPILLED OUT UNDERNEATH THE GAS TANK. THE CONTACT HAS TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT PARTY FOR SERVICE. THE CONTACT DID NOT KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM WAS AT THIS POINT. ALSO, ABS SYSTEM FAILED. WHEN SLOWING DOWN OR GOING TO STOP THE ABS IS ENGAGED AT ANY SPEED. THE CONTACT CALLED GM, AND THEY SAID THEY KNEW ABOUT THE PROBLEMS. THE CONTACT TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND HAD THE WHEEL SENSOR REPLACED. THAT HAS FIXED THE PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES. GENERAL MOTORS WAS CONTACTED OVER THE PROBLEMS, THEY SAID THAT VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED AT THIS TIME. GM DID TOLD THE CONTACT THAT THEY WOULD GIVE HIM A COUPON FOR A NEW 2006 VEHICLE.*AK

WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE STALLED. THE DRIVER TRIED TO RESTART VEHICLE BUT WAS UNABLE TO DO SO. DRIVER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE FUEL LINE HAD TO BE REATTACHED BY A CONVERSION KIT. *AK
STARTING TRUCK FOR WORK IN MORNING. TRUCK WOULDN'T START. NO FUEL TO ENGINE. SENT TO GEORGIAN PONTIAC IN BARRIE ONTARIO. DIAOGNOSTIC FAULTY FUEL PUMP. REPLACED. SECOND TIME SAME THING, TIRED TO VISIT MY UNCLE WHO LIVES 10 MINUTES AWAY TRUCK WAS RUNNING IN DRIVEWAY AND DIED. FUEL NOT GETTING TO THE ENGINE. PUMP UNDER 1 YEAR WARRANTY. REPLACED, BUT THE FUEL GAUGE NOT WORKING. 3RD TIME JUST HAPPENED 1 DEC 04. WAITING IN DRIVE THROUGH FOR A COFFEE TRUCK DIED. NO FUEL TO ENGINE (FULL TANK, FILLED NIGHT BEFORE. *AK
THE FUEL PUMP OVERHEATED TO THE POINT WHERE IT MELTED THE WIRE TO THE TOP OF THE TANK, THEN PROCEEDED TO MELT A WHOLE IN THE CONNECTOR GOING TO THE GAS TANK. *JB
SPEEDOMETER AND BRAKING LIGHTS FAILED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING. ALSO VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT ABOVE 2ND GEAR. DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE(ECM) WAS FLOODED WITH GASOLINE DUE TO A DEFECTIVE LEAKING FUEL INJECTOR. DEALER RECOMMENDED THAT CONSUMER REPLACE ALL 8 INJECTORS BECAUSE THEY ARE EXHIBITING THE SAME POTENTIAL TO FAIL/LEAK.*AK HARNESS, CPI FUEL, METER, VCM, CORE RETURN, SEAL AND SWITCH ASSEMBLY WERE REPLACED. *TT

VEHICLE WAS LEAKING GAS FROM REAR WHEN PARKED AND TURNED OFF. DEALER HAS SEEN VEHICLE 3 TIMES, BUT STILL NO SOLUTION.*AK
WHEN DRIVING AT 20-25 MPH ENGINE WILL CUT OFF WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING, WHICH CAUSES LOSS OF ALL POWER. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED DEALER, FUEL FILLER WAS REPLACED. HOWEVER, PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK

THE TRUCK HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP UP TO 8 TIMES!
NOTICED OIL SPOTS ON GARAGE FLOOR. DROVE TO GMC DEALER FOR REPAIR. FIRST REPAIR, DEALER INCORRECTLY DIAGNOSED PROBLEM AS FUEL FILTER LEAK. SECOND REPAIR, I INDICATED THAT THE LEAK WAS FROM TRANSFER CASE NOT FUEL FILTER. DEALER REMOVED/REINSTALLED TRANSFER CASE TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE/INSTALL A NEW SEAL RING TO CORRECT PROBLEM. *AK
