TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 GMC YUKON. ON APRIL 20, 2009, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST 20 MPH. THERE HAD BEEN NO PRIOR FAILURES WITH THE TRANSMISSION SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE USED IN JANUARY OF 2009. IN ADDITION, THERE WERE ALIGNMENT ISSUES THAT CAUSED THE TIRES TO EXPLODE, TIE ROD FAILURE, BRAKE FAILURE, AND THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYS THE INCORRECT AMOUNT OF FUEL IN THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. UPDATED 5/27/09 *CN THE UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS, LOWER BALL JOINTS, IDLER ARM, STEERING GEAR, RACK AND PINION WERE ALL REPLACED. UPDATED 06/02/09.*JB

WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH RMPS REVVED UP, AND THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED, MECHANIC INSPECTED THE VEHICLE, AND INDICATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTIONED DUE TO A FAILURE IN THE BALL VALVE. ALSO INDICATED THAT THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES, AND THIS PART HAS BEEN UP GRADED IN LATER MODEL YEARS TO CORRECT THIS FAILURE. *AK

VEHICLE HAD A RUSTED REAR AXLE THAT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT SOLD THIS VEHICLE. HOWEVER, THE RIMS AND TIRES WERE OVERSIZED TO MUFFLE THE SOUND AND HIDE THE NOISE WHICH WOULD HAVE SENT OUT A SIGNAL THAT THERE WERE PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE.*AK

INTERMITTENT PROBLEM BUT HAPPENS MOST OFTEN AFTER DRIVING AT FREEWAY SPEEDS OR USING ENGINE BRAKING ON DOWNGRADES BY SHIFTING INTO LOWER GEARS. SEEMS TO BE MORE FREQUENT IN WARM/HOT WEATHER. VEHICLE IS ALWAYS LIGHTLY LOADED.*AK
DEALER VERIFIED PROBLEM WITH DRIVELINE AT STARTUP OR STOPPING. DEALER STATED THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH YUKON,TAHOE, ESCALADE, AND GMC/CHEVROLET FULL SIZE TRUCKS.PROBLEM HAS BEEN PRESENT FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS WITH NO CORRECTIVE ACTION.DEALER WILL CHARGE CUSTOMER TO LUBE THE "SPLINE" AS A TEMP FIX. HOOD FLUTTER IN WIND, SERVICE BULLETIN WAS ISSUED FOR 2000 DENALI, NEEDS TO INCLUDE 1999 YEAR(SAME BODY STYLE) SEE BULLETIN #000863007. HOOD "CROWL" WAS REPLACE BY DEALER, NEW REPLACEMENT DOES NOT FIT CORRECTLY, DEALER RECOMMENDED GLUING IN PLACE. NOT CORRECT FIX.*AK
HAD TAKEN VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR BRAKE SERVICE ON FRONT DISC BRAKES DUE TO WEAR ON DISC. WORK AFTER 15000 MILES HAD TO BE PERFORMED AGAIN DUE TO DISK WEARING OUT. CONSUMER BELIEVED THAT BRAKES WERE NOT HEAVY ENOUGH FOR VEHICLE. *AK DISC WARPED CAUSING VIBRATIONS AND BRAKE FAILURE. THE DISC WAS TURNED A T 15K MILES AND WAS REPLACED AT 28K. TRANSMISSION DOES NOT HOLD ON HILLS. FRONT END WAS LEAKING DUE TO FRONT PINION SEAL FAILURE .. *YH

IT LOST POWER AND SEEMED LIKE NO FUEL WAS GETTING TO ENGINE" STATED CAUSE:50PSI, LOW L1225 SENDER/PUMP ASSEMBLY, FUEL (TANK UNIT) - REPALCE LEFT TANK 228 WTL 2.20. *AK
BASICALLY CONSUMER WAS HAVING A PROBLEM WITH ABS BRAKING SYSTEM. WHEN APPLYING BRAKE PEDAL, PEDAL STUCK AND RUINED ROTORS. ALSO, AIR CONDITIONING WENT OUT THREE TIMES DUE TO A HOLE INSIDE OF VENT AREA. *AK CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON DUE TO FAULTY HARNESS. TRANSMISSION SLIPS ON ACCELERATION. THE ENGINE RUNS ROUGH AT IDLE. BUTTON ON LEFT FRONT SEAT RATTLES. RIGHT FRONT OUTER BRAKE PAD WAS WORN. VEHICLE PULLS LEFT WHEN APPLYING BRAKE. *YH
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY ALL OF A SUDDEN VEHICLE CUT OFF AND STALLED. CONTACTED DEALER.*AK
TRANSMISSION WAS STALLING. *AK
VEHICLE EXPERIENCED VIBRATION, DEALER SAID IT WAS FIXED, HOWEVER WHILE DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY THE BACK OF THE DRIVE SHAFT FELL DOWN ON THE ROAD. NLM
THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN REVERSE BUT IT WOULD NOT MOVE. IT WAS PLACED BACK IN PARK AND LEFT RUNNING IN MY GARAGE. I GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE IN ORDER TO LOOK OVER THE EXTIERIOR FOR PROBLEMS; NONE FOUND. I THEN KICKED/PUSHED THE BACK BUMPER AND IMMEDIATELY HEARD A CLUNK, THE VEHICLE WAS THROWN INTO REVERSE AND HEADED AT ME. IT CAUSED A GREAT DEAL OF DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE, MY OTHER VEHICLE PARKED IN THE GARAGE AND MY HOUSE. I WAS ALMOST RUN OVER BY THIS DRIVER-LESS VEHICLE. I DO HAVE A WITNESS THAT SAW THE VEHICLE CHARGING AT ME.
NOTICED OIL SPOTS ON GARAGE FLOOR. DROVE TO GMC DEALER FOR REPAIR. FIRST REPAIR, DEALER INCORRECTLY DIAGNOSED PROBLEM AS FUEL FILTER LEAK. SECOND REPAIR, I INDICATED THAT THE LEAK WAS FROM TRANSFER CASE NOT FUEL FILTER. DEALER REMOVED/REINSTALLED TRANSFER CASE TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE/INSTALL A NEW SEAL RING TO CORRECT PROBLEM. *AK
