Dashboard is severely cracked & rattles so badly that it interferes with hearing outside & inside noises & communication. Has gotten worse over past year. Dealer confirmed that the problem was prevalent among several GM models, including my model. I was also told that a class action suit was filed against GMC for this problem, but was dismissed by judicial system.

DASH IS CRACKED AND AIRBAG IS A TAKATA.GM WILL NOT TAKE THEIR RESPONSIBILITY BECAUSE OF CORPORATE GREED.WHEN ENOUGH PEOPLE DIE THEN THEY WILL ACT.SURPRISINGLY SINCE GM RECEIVED GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE YOU WOULD THINK THEY CARE ABOUT PEOPLE.BUT THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY.
DASH IS CRACKED AND MAY CAUSE FLYING DEBRIS UPON AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT.SAFETY ISSUE.
DASHBOARD CRACKS AROUND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG. MY DASHBOARD STARTED TO CRACK A COUPLE OR YEARS AGO AND IS NOW CRACKED ALL OVER. IT IS ALSO A SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE TRIED TO STOP THE CRACKS IN DIFFERENT WAYS AND IT JUST CONTINUES. GMC SHOULD RESPOND AND CHANGE THE DASHBOARD OF THESE VEHICLES. I ASKED THE DEALER IN THE LAST INSPECTION FOR THE REPAR. IT IS CLOSE TO 1300 DOLLARS AND GMC DOES NOT RESPOND. CLEARLY THIS IS A QUALITY ISSUE
TAKATA RECALL, FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATORS ARE DEFECTIVE. THE INFLATOR CAN DEGRADE OVER TIME , ESPECIALLY AFTER LONG TERM EXPOSURE IN HOT AND HUMID REGIONS. PLUS MY DASH IS CRACKING. THE DASH HAS CRACKED SO MUCH THAT THE AIR BAG ARES IS PUSHED UP.
CRACKED DASHBOARD IN 2 PLACES. INCLUDING A CRACK INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. I'M VERY CONCERNED DUE TO HAVING TWO 2 YEAR OLDS IN MY CAR. THE CRACKS BEGAN APPROXIMATELY 2 YEARS AGO. OUR YUKON HAS REGULAR MAINTENENCE AND GARAGE KEPT. I AM VERY CONCERNED THIS WILL CAUSE MY AIRBAGS TO POTENTIALLY ENGAGE!
WE HAD ARRIVED HOME FROM SHOPPING THAT EVENING. MY GIRLFRIEND WAS THE LAST TO EXIT THE VEHICLE, BECAUSE SHE WAS GOING TO EACH SIDE PICKING UP TRASH WITHIN THE VEHICLE. THE DASH WASN'T CRACKED, TWO DAYS LATER SHE ENTERED THE VEHICLE TO RUN ERRANDS AND NOTICE THE DASH CRACKED SHE RETURNED TO THE HOUSE AND QUESTIONED EVERYONE THAT HAD BEEN IN THE VEHICLE THAT DAY AND NO ONE NOTICE THE CRACK.
DASHBOARD IS CRACK FOR NO REASON BUT DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN IT HAPPENED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR HANDLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED WITH THE REAR DRIVER SIDE AND FRONT PASSENGER SIDE EXTERIOR HANDLES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000. MY FAMILY'S 2008 GMC YUKON HAS A CRACKING DASHBOARD COVER. THIS PROBLEM STARTED EARLIER AROUND 100,000 MILES BUT NOW THERE IS ONE LARGE CRACK AND ONE SMALLER CRACK ABOVE THE PORTION OF THE DASHBOARD WHERE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IS LOCATED. I AM CONCERNED THAT EVENTUALLY THIS WHOLE PORTION OF THE DASHBOARD COVER MAY CRACK AND FALL INTO THE DASHBOARD WHICH COULD POSSIBLY AFFECT ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS LOCATED WITHIN THE DASHBOARD. ALSO I HAVE NOTICED SOME SIGNS OF A CRACK FORMING NEXT TO THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG COVER. AT ANY POINT WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE I CAN HEAR THE DASHBOARD CRACKING AND POPPING LOUDLY. *TR

DASH BOARD HAS TWO CRACKS. ONE IS NEAR PASSENGER AIR BAG THAT COULD CAUSE MALFUNCTION OF ITEM AND THE OTHER IS NEAR THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. BOTH CRACKS ARE REPORTED TO BE CAUSED BY OVER TIGHTEN OF BOLTS BY THE MANUFACTURE. THIS IS NOT ONLY THE YUKON BUT THE TAHOE AS WELL. HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO GM BUT THERE IS NO FIX BUT A FULL REPLACEMENT AT THE COST OF THE CONSUMER. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN WITH THE DASH BY THE AIR BAG AND ALSO THE STEERING OF THE VEHICLE IF THIS FURTHER CRACKS AND FALLS. *TR

THE DASHBOARD IN OUR YUKON HAS CRACKED JUST IN BACK OF THE AIRBAG. THE CONCERN IS IF THE AIRBAG EVER HAS TO DEPLOY, THE AIRBAG WILL EITHER TEAR RENDERING THE AIRBAG USELESS, OR THE DASHBOARD WILL SHATTER SENDING PLASTIC PIECES THROUGHOUT THE FRONT AND BACK SEATS AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. I'VE DONE ENOUGH RESEARCH TO KNOW THIS IS A WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM, YET GM IS ONLY OFFERING TO PAY FOR HALF OF THIS EXPENSIVE REPLACEMENT. IN THE MEAN TIME I HAVE PARKED THIS VEHICLE AND WILL NOT ALLOW MY WIFE TO DRIVE THIS WITH OUR TWO CHILDREN. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FRONT, REAR DRIVER'S SIDE AND THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR ACTUATORS WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.

PROBLEMS WITH POWER DOOR LOCKS. HAD IT WITH OUR 2000 YUKON, MY 1999 SIERRA, AND NOW OUR 2008. THE 12 VOLT MOTOR WHICH DRIVES THE LOCKS UP AND DOWN VIA A SCREWJACK FAILS. NO LOGICAL WAY TO JUST CHANGE THE MOTOR. THE ENTIRE ASSY. MUST BE REPLACED @ $153 MY NEAREST DEALER. 2ND DOOR TO FAIL ON THE 2008. ASSY IS STAMPED "MADE IN CHINA". THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE ON A RECALL. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 GMC YUKON. THE CONTACT RECENTLY PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE DESIGN DOES NOT PERMIT OPERABLE TOWING DUE TO THE NONFUNCTIONAL TAIL LIGHTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS NO FAILURE IN THE MANUFACTURER'S DESIGN. THERE WAS NO REPAIR AVAILABLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 7,500 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. UPDATED 02/24/09. *LJ THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE WORK COULD NOT BE DONE ON THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THE LIGHTS WERE WIRED THROUGH THE COMPUTER AND THEY COULD NOT WIRE THE UNIT TO HAVE TAILLIGHTS, TURN SIGNALS OR BRAKE LIGHTS.
