There was an engine recall on the vehicle that was inspected and passed. My wife noticed the vehicle shaking while she was driving and the engine mounts ended up being broken. They replaced the engine mounts and they had it up on the lift when they reported that engine failed. They replaced the motor and gave the vehicle back to us. About 2 weeks later my wife noticed a grinding. She took it in and they said the differential needed to be flushed. That would be at our cost. Then they did that and it did not fix the issue. So they determined it was the rear differential that needed to be replaced. We got the car back after another 2 weeks and it was fine for about 2 weeks. My wife noticed another grinding and we turned it in before the warranty expired and now they have to replace the rear struts. All in all over the last 6 months the car has been in the shop for at least 2 months getting repairs because of major catastrophic failures in their components.

My 2022 GMC Yukon with the 6.2L V8 engine is covered under recall 25V274000 for connecting rod and crankshaft defects that can cause engine failure. Approximately three months ago, Wiesner GMC dealership performed the recall inspection and stated the vehicle passed. Recently, the engine suddenly began misfiring on cylinder 6. The failure was sudden and severe—the vehicle started shaking significantly, the check engine light illuminated, and multiple safety sensors began deactivating. The vehicle was clearly unsafe to drive. An independent repair shop diagnosed oil leaking into the cylinder and stated the condition is consistent with internal engine component failure—the same type of defect the recall is meant to address. When I contacted the dealership to have it re-evaluated, they stated my vehicle is no longer under standard warranty and I would be responsible for repairs. After escalating to GM customer service, they confirmed extended coverage exists under Special Coverage N252494003 (10 years/150,000 miles) if the diagnostic confirms the issue is related to the recall defect. The fact that my vehicle passed the recall inspection three months ago and is now exhibiting the exact failure symptoms the recall was designed to prevent raises concerns that the inspection procedure may not be detecting all affected engines. The component (engine) is available for inspection. This defect poses a serious safety risk as the sudden loss of power and deactivation of safety systems could cause a crash.

This is a follow-up to two previous complaints. The first complaint was filed around 5/22/25, and the second complaint was filed around 7/08/25. The complaint is related to a 2022 GMC Yukon that we purchased new. As reported in the previous complaints, we experienced several problems with the suspension and steering of the vehicle. The SUV continues to have a knocking, cracking, snapping noise coming from the front suspension when making a right or left turn, or u-turn. The dealer has made several attempts to fix it, but continues to occur. The warning lights continue to be set on and off, but not as often. The infoentertainment system as well. One of the other reported issues was the low oil warning light coming up and thus oil consumption. The SUV was taken to the dealer on 9/11/25, and the GMC service staff reported the SUV, during the summer hot days, was 1.9, almost two quarts. They asked to drive the SUV for an additional 2000 miles, and it was short by .9 quart. GMC claimed it is normal, but per their recommendations on oil changes, the vehicle would be 7 quarts between oil changes unless the driver checks the level every 1500 to 2000 miles. Not only was the information misleading as they denied to perform any services, but also is a safety concern for the damages it can cause to the vehicle, especially if it goes on safety mode. Around 7/24/25, we submitted a request for a buy-back to GM, which they approved 30 days later; however, they still have not made good on the promise, and the vehicle remains with these safety, operational, and mechanical issues.

The contact owns a 2022 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 MPH with her family inside the vehicle, there was an abnormal tapping sound coming from the engine compartment, with the traction control and Forward Collision Avoidance warning lights illuminated. Additionally, the "Service ESC", "Forward Collision Avoidance System Unavailable", and "Service Traction Control" flashed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was determined that the gaskets, bolts, rods, lifters, camshaft valve, valve actuator, and engine seals needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then taken to another dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

My 2022 Yukon with the 6.2 engine locked up on a mountain highway in Wyoming. There were no prior symptoms — the engine suddenly lost power and shifted into neutral, forcing me to pull over. The biggest issue was that once the vehicle stopped, it couldn’t be shifted into neutral, which could have caused a secondary collision. The dealer who sold the vehicle didn't treat this seriously and sold as inspection passed vehicle.

My vehicle continues to consume oil. It consumes approximately 1 quart of oil every 1 thousand miles. As a Retired/Disabled Veteran this has become a safety concern for me and my family as I'm concerned this vehicle will leave us stranded.

The contact owns a 2022 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the engine failed to crank or start-up. After several attempts, the vehicle failed to start. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump power control module had failed and needed to replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

I WAS DRIVING ON HYW 64 IN CASHIERS, NC 28717 ON AUGUST 25, 2025 AT AROUND 4:30 PM AND MY 2022 GMC YUKON DENALI JUST STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I WAS UNABLE TO RESTART IT SO I WAS NOT ABLE TO MOVE IT FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. SOMEONE PASSING BY CALLED 911 SO LOTS OF EMERGENCY VEHICLES ARRIVED. THE MEN TRIED TO SWITCH THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL SO IT COULD BE TOWED AND FINALLY WERE ABLE TO DO THAT READING SOMETHING IN THE MANUAL ABOUT HITTING THE START BUTTON TWICE. WHILE BEING PUT ON THE FLATBED IF THE TOW TRUCK I NOTICED THE TIRES WERE NOT ROLLING, JUST SLIDING FORWARD. IT IS BEING TOWED TO A CHEVY DEALER AN HOUR AWAY.

1. The engine is malfunctioning, leading to excessive oil consumption and random shutdowns. The vehicle is available for inspection at Alexander Buick GMC, Oxnard, CA, where it has been taken for repairs multiple times. 2. The engine's random shutdowns pose a significant safety risk. The vehicle can stall without warning while in motion, which could lead to accidents, especially in high-traffic situations or at high speeds. This puts the driver, passengers, and other drivers at risk. 3. Yes, the dealership Alexander Buick GMC has confirmed the excessive oil consumption and has observed the engine shutting down. However, they have not been able to determine the root cause of the shutdowns. 4. The vehicle has only been inspected by the dealership Alexander Buick GMC which is an authorized service center for the manufacturer. It has not been inspected by any other parties. 5. There were no warning lamps or messages consistently appearing before the engine shutdowns. Sometimes, the oil pressure warning light would flicker briefly before a shutdown, but not always. The excessive oil consumption was noticed approximately a year ago before the shutdowns began. Not too sure when these shutdowns started occurring.

I’m filing this complaint regarding my 2022 GMC Yukon Denali (VIN: [XXX] , MSRP ~$76,805) with an unresolved L87 engine recall. I made an appointment at my local GMC dealership on 5/8/25 specifically for the L87 recall. Upon arrival, staff only documented the Serial Data Gateway Module recall, which I hadn’t even known about. When I mentioned the 6.2L engine, I was asked if I was “sure.” I believe I was treated dismissively because I’m a woman. After pushing back, staff pulled up the bulletin, confirmed my engine needed replacement, and told me to “drive it until it blows up or there’s a fix, whichever comes first.” The L87 was only added to my receipt after I insisted—it was falsely listed as an “added operation,” though it was the reason I came in. I sent a certified letter to GM on 5/12/25 (signed for on 5/15/25) confirming the date I tendered the vehicle. Both GM and the dealer were fully aware the 60-day federal repair window had begun. It is now well past that deadline, and the L87 recall remains unresolved. Compounding the issue, the AC failed on [XXX], and the vehicle has been parked since early June due to extreme KY heat, making it unsafe to drive my children. I rely on this vehicle for daily commuting—driving ~100 miles/day for work—and it is also the only vehicle we own capable of towing our family boat, which has now sat unused all summer. I am currently paying $1,000/mo for the Yukon, $600/mo for the boat, and $200/mo for insurance—$1,800/month in preventable financial losses caused by GM’s failure to act. No repair has been offered. No loaner vehicle has been provided. No response has been received. I believe I was misled and discriminated against at the dealership, and I am now financially burdened and without a safe, reliable vehicle. This situation qualifies under the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act for repurchase, compensation, or forced resolution. I am requesting a formal investigation and full remedy. I was driving on the freeway with my family when the dashboard lights went off and the car started making a noise. The car then started shaking and I immediately pulled over. I was with my family and my children got scared. Previously to this the car had not shown any signs of problems. I had the car towed to the dealership. I received a call 2 days later from dealership stating my car needed a new engine. The car only has 42K miles and has had all oil changes.

On the morning of Thursday, [XXX], our 2022 Yukon Denali departed from West Richland, WA with the intent to arrive in Spokane, WA. After a short stop in Ritzville, WA around [XXX] local time, we entered the freeway ([XXX] to Spokane, WA) and attempted to pass a semi-truck. The vehicle got to approximately 60mph and then began to rev without any propulsion to increase speed. The vehicle shut off completely and stated that we were to put the car in neutral and attempt to restart. While going 50-60mph, we shifted into neutral and attempted to restart without any success. While the situation was extremely dangerous give the traffic (semi-truck on the right and an approaching vehicle directly behind us), we slowed the vehicle and maneuvered to the shoulder where we stopped the vehicle. The vehicle would not start so we leverage the OnStar system to call a tow truck. Unfortunately, there was no ride available being 1-2 miles outside of Ritzville, WA where transportation services do not exist. We requested the help of WA state troopers who picked up 7 of us (4 separate trips) on the side of the highway. The vehicle was towed to Spokane, WA and we were left to fend for ourselves to get to Spokane. The vehicle is in the shop and we are told based on the codes achieved that it is a full engine failure. After only 47,000 the Yukon started with hard starts and triggering a check engine light. Owner suggested fuel issues, the dealership suggested a bad wire. They adjust the "bare wire", and mentioned that the fuel pumps on these vehicles have issues and they would order one- but give them a holler when we have additional problems. The Yukon continued to hard start, evolving into stalling when started. The dealership was alerted but due to lack of engine codes being stored the dealership couldn't help us. Eventually when driving 57mph, the Yukon cut engine on a busy route, driver was able to get the Yukon to the shoulder and attempted restart- the Yukon was dead. AAA attempted to battery jump the Yukon without success. We were without our Yukon for 8 weeks, being placed in random trucks that couldn't support our family size. Upstate Chevy of Attica was not help in the process. We did contact GM directly and received a case number 9-14907008493. The engine was replaced. The Yukon still doesn't seem to be 100%, with some slow to starts. We are asking for compensation toward another GM full size SUV. We are GM friends and family and have purchased several vehicles over the years. We'd like to trade our suv now for a new 2025 without engine issues- but since our Yukon was gutted, that is now noted on a carfax which devalues our trade.

The engine on my vehicle has been consuming approximately a quart of oil every thousand miles for months. I have made this issue known to the dealership who services my vehicle over that time period. The dealership (Radley Chevrolet in Fredericksburg, Virginia) and particularly the management has not been concerned about my issue. I have also contacted GMC. I've explained to Radley Chevrolet and GMC that as a [XXX] while in the military [XXX] that my vehicle will leave me and my family stranded somewhere without recourse. Both are aware of the ongoing issues and have not addressed my many documented concerns. I have an extended warranty, so I'm covered for parts and labor for years. Again, the concern is for my safety and the safety of my family. This vehicle could possibly leave me as [XXX] and my family on the side of the road. I have reported these concerns numerous times. While driving 75 on the highway the vehicle shut off completely, shifted to neutral and a message flashed on the dashboard to "press start again". This has happened previously when my 16 y/o was driving but we chalked it up to user error. Scheduled appointment with dealership. There were no warning lamps, no lights illuminated on the dashboard. The vehicle just cut off and I have not been able to reproduce the issue.

2022 GMC Yukon Denali, 6.2 with 37,000. Bearings failed. Needs a new motor. 150 miles away from home. Engine failed with no warning on a highway. Had to call police to assist. Paid for a tow truck out of pocket. Covered Under powertrain warranty, Unsure if I will get a new or refurbished motor. I was told by the dealership that lead times could exceed two months. GM is not extending my powertrain warranty.

Without any signs of an issue the engine seized while driving on the highway, Thursday [XXX]. Thankfully my wife was exiting the highway when the vehicle shifted its transmission into neutral, allowing my wife to coast onto the shoulder. The vehicle would turn on the electronics, however the engine would not attempt to turn over. The vehicle was towed to Carl Black GMC of Kennesaw. I was originally told the transmission was the potential problem but the transmission tech was on vacation until the following Monday the 14th. Once they looked at the vehicle, at that time they determined that it was not the transmission. The engine had seized and that there is at least a 6 month wait for another engine. They have not recommend a further diagnoses of the exact failure within the engine due to the common occurring issue with these engines. While approaching a red light, my 2022 GMC yukon just shut off leaving us unable to start it or even shift it to neutral to move the vehicle. This posed danger with oncoming traffic, so my family and I got out of the vehicle while awaiting a tow. We had to get the car towed and it was determined to have complete engine failure due to a rod bearing issue. One hour prior to it failing we had a check engine light come on. No other noises or warnings prior. The car is now at the dealership awaiting a new motor since still being under warranty. The motors are on backorder so its unclear how long this will take.

My wife was driving the vehicle down a major highway in Tulsa and it immediately shut down and started slowing down. She was in the left hand lane had to cross 3 lanes of traffic with a dead engine. Luckily she wasn’t ran into because traffic was very heavy. This could have resulted in injury or even worse. She made it off the highway by about a foot and had to sit there for 30 minutes before I could get there. The vehicle had to be towed to a dealership and they just confirmed that the engine was blown. The vehicle only has 70,000 miles on it and has had regular oil changes.

After the vehicle was serviced with a fuel injection cleaning and an oil change (by a GM dealership), the vehicle lost about 5 miles per gallon while driving and has not improved since. . I brought the vehicle back to the same dealership and complained. Another fuel injection cleaning was performed, but it did not help. It has been about 3 months and nothing has improved. I use 93 octane, TopTier gasoline.

On January 23, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., I was traveling on I-10 when, without warning, my engine shut off on my 2022 GMC Yukon, and I rapidly lost speed. We managed to pull the vehicle off the road. This was extremely frightening since there was traffic on I-10.

Mar 20, 2025

Engine locked up while driving down the highway, no warning or anything. Only 19,000 miles. This happened on November 30th 2024 and Yukon is still in the shop. They have installed 2 motors, which all have failed.

Mar 17, 2025

Engine locked up / froze up while driving 75MPH on interstate i-10. Vehicle is now in the shop awaiting a new engine. It will probably lock up as well, finding there is no known guaranteed reason for this engine failure. Dealership provided a junk rental and said it would be a few months before repair is complete. My towing bills were not paid by GM. My insurance had to pay which is simply not right! I'm sure they will pull a mystery motor off the shelf and hope for the best... Very dangerous!

On February 21st when driving on the highway at highway speeds, the vehicle on its own shifted into neutral and I was forced to pull over onto side of the road before the vehicle allowed me to put back into gear of drive. Upon getting back onto the highway, I noticed and heard the sound of the motor very different and louder than normal, I immediately pulled over to the nearest exit to where the vehicle shut off on its own and did not allow me to control the vehicle. I was stranded at the exit where a number of other vehicles and 18 wheelers were trying to exit, I called the local PD, to come assist with traffic control and had to wait on tow truck to have vehicle towed home, then next day towed to local dealership. Received a phone call from dealership days later that the technicians were able to fire it up, but it immediately lost oil pressure and motor locked up, I am being told by the dealership that the motor will need to be replaced, it is covered under warranty BUT I am being given no timeline as to when it can be fixed.

Feb 27, 2025

The 6.2 L engine Yukon spun a bearing caused my car to shut down in the middle of the road barely got off the side. Lucky that we were not at highway speeds and nobody rear ended us. When I got to the dealership they did not care that this occurred and GMC customer care did not even acknowledge about the safety of us on the road when this occurred. At this point GMC nor the dealership has an ETA on replacement.

Feb 24, 2025

We were driving down the interstate at around 70mph and without warning - the vehicle shut off. The engine stopped running and the vehicle put itself in Neutral. The headlights and electrical all shut off and the only message on the display was to push start to restart the vehicle. Luckily, we were able to safely maneuverer out of traffic without being hit by other vehicles. Our vehicle was able to be restarted once we came to a complete stop and put the car in park. We are having he vehicle towed to our local GMC dealer to have it evaluated. The issue only happened one time.

Feb 23, 2025

My vehicle was 8 months old and it completely stopped with no warning going down the interstate, I was in the left lane and the vehicle locked up, engine and all leaving me stranded in the left lane on a busy interstate. When the engine quits, there is absolutely no way to get the vehicle into neutral to get it to a safe location. When this happened I was almost hit by an 18 wheeler . After having the vehicle towed to the dealership, they informed me the engine was seized. It took 3 months to get an engine from GM, they finally got the engine in, started it up in the shop, it apparently ran for about 15 minutes before losing oil pressure. At that time they shut the vehicle off, pulled the oil filter, found metal shavings in it and GM told the dealer to order another engine. But there were no engines available. The dealership finally notified me 3.5 months later that they finally received an engine and were working on installing it. I finally got my vehicle back after more than 6 months at the dealership and it was on its 3rd engine. I drove the vehicle for almost 2 years before the Same thing happened, the vehicle locked up on the highway and I had to have it towed. It has taken the dealer over a month to diagnose the problem and called to inform me the engine had seized up again. This will be the fourth engine in a 2022 GMC Yukon AT4. Besides the issue of the engines going bad, it is a severe safety issue that the vehicle will completely lock up on the highway with no way to move it. Twice I have almost been in a serious accident because of this.

Feb 17, 2025

Car shut off while driving down the interstate at 70 MPH. Barely got to side of road. Two children were in the vehicle. The safely of all in the vehicle were at risk. Car would not restart. Had to be towed. GMC dealer told me the motor needs to be replaced. It is the 6.2L.

Feb 15, 2025

Engine seized on the highway doing 80mph with my three young children in the car. The safety of my entire family was at risk! Luckily made it to the side of the road safely, but was freezing in the rain and snow with a completely dead vehicle. The vehicle had been in for service months earlier and they detected a “bearing” issue and had it for 2+ weeks to repair. I can’t help but think these two incidents are related. No warning signaling that the car was going to die - it became very clear we were coasting while trying to apply the gas.

Feb 9, 2025

The engine started making a rattling sound. Brought it to the dealer and they told me the engine is bad and it needs a new one. They told me this issue with lifters and the fuel management system is a common problem leading to internal metal components breaking. My car has been with the dealer since 12/30/24 and I was told this week from the dealer the problem is so big there aren’t any engines available and they have no idea when I’m getting it back. When I initially dropped it off, they said approximately a month. Now they are saying they don’t have a clue.

Feb 6, 2025

Sudden loss of power while driving approximately 60 MPH. Dash saying "press engine start". The vehicle lost all functions while moving at about 60 mph with zero warning signs. After diagnosis with the GMC dealer, crank bearing failure led to complete motor loss. The concern was there was no warning signs, noises etc. that would allow to get the vehicle to a safe location off the road. We were lucky we were going straight and not on a corner and able to coast to a wide enough location to get the vehicle off the main lanes of traffic.

In addition, the contact stated that the failure occurred while on vacation. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with engine failure. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 43,000.

I was driving on an expressway in Chicago heading to work at 5am on [XXX] morning. While driving my engine shutdown and I lost engine power to my vehicle while doing 70mph. There was no warning, no warning lamps and no noise to indicate there was any issues. The vehicle just died while I was driving. I had to coast to the shoulder with traffic all around me. Luckily I was able to avoid other vehicles and they were able to avoid me when they realized I was having trouble. Though there was a very close call where I almost got into an accident. When I pulled onto the shoulder the vehicle completely shutdown. It would not restart. I had to call a tow company to have my vehicle towed to the Dealership. Luckily, I was able to find one nearby that was open at that time on Christmas Eve. The dealership mechanics went over my vehicle and determined that I had complete engine failure. The bearings on the bottom end of the engine spun out. I now need a complete engine replacement along with whatever other components were also damage. This incident was a major safety issue. I was luckily that I did not end up in a major accident due to the loss of complete engine power. This is a major issue that needs to be looked into and GM needs to be held responsible for not only my vehicle but all others that this is happening to. Jan 28, 2025

My transmission began having problems the day it was delivered to me. After the oil change which they delivered to me at low percentage was completed the motor was ticking. It has had a burning smell and has been in and out of the shop and going back soon. I was on the expressway and the speed declined with error messages on the dash almost resulting in an accident. No one is listening to my concerns and now the motor has a metal clinking noise

Engine failed at 20,100 miles. Going 65 on the highway in rural area when the lifters failed and it decelerated quickly. Had it towed to Monken GMC and they stated the engine had an 11 month lead time for replacement due to the high number of I87 failures that GM is currently having. Eventually had it towed to O’ Fallon Buick GMC in the St. Louis area, where they confirmed the same thing. Engine failure, 11 month wait time. I called GM and they offered no assistance.

Loss of 2 qt of engine oil in less than 5000 miles

Jan 20, 2025

[XXX] while driving on [XXX] myself and my family in our 2022 yukon 6 lane highway 65 mph the engine lost power with no warning at all and left us with no power steering ,or brakes. This was in heavy traffic with other vehicles on our right and left side. I was able to put 4 way on and carefully move to the right lane and then barely to the burm. Vehicle would not restart and the sound of it was of rattle and groan. yukon was towed to the nearest dealer and we were told it was a bad engine of either bearings or rods. We were very lucky to not having an accident and harm my family or other persons on the highway. When a new engine was installed it ran for ony 15 minutes and also was defective for the same issue. Vehicle was returned to us on 12/14/24 and we were denied any additional warranty. At this point i have no confidence in the vehicle or General Motors. We took a financial loss when we traded the vehicle because of the major problems thru no fault of ours. The dealer would offer nothing as far as extending the warranty nor would GMC customer service that we filed a formal complaint # [XXX]. I have a 2022 Yukon Denali. On [XXX] the engine failed with approximately 33,000 miles on it. When the engine failed, we were traveling on a highway in New York State at a high rate of speed. Everything shut down but the steering and brakes. This put us in a dangerous situation in which we had to exit the freeway and call for a tow truck. It was still under warranty. They replaced the engine and completed the project on November 5, 2024. They delivered the car from the dealership that repaired it in New Jersey to my home in California on December 9, 2024. The new engine they installed failed on December 10, 2024. I brought it to Winter Chevrolet in Pittsburgh California. As of January 18, 2025 they have still not been able to locate a new engine to install. As of today, it has been 117 days since I’ve been without the use of my car. In my dealings with General motors, it appears that their goal is just to stall until they find an engine to install in my car also we have had no clear explanation or diagnosis of what actually is wrong with the car. Definitely needs an engine. Will get a new engine, radiator and oil cooler lines ordered Rear pinion seal on the rear differential was leaking also so I've ordered one of those and will replace it

My vehicle radiator fan immediately cut on high when I turned on the vehicle. The temperature of the vehicle was normal. I also experienced this when the engine was completely cold. I was assured there was no need to tow the vehicle but I could drive and schedule service with dealer. The software triggered a reduced acceleration condition. This did not allow me to accelerate as needed while navigating an interstate interchange.

The servicing dealer identified a faulty injector wiring harness. A national backorder caused a delay in repair. I do not have the part. The dealer retained. I was driving at highway speeds on the interstate and every possible warning light came on the dash. "Service ESC" "Service Traction Control", Reduced Acceleration Drive with Care", "Forward Collision System Unavailable", "Service Emmision System" At this point, I experienced a loss of power and acceleration, and the vehicle would shake violently when I applied the accelerator pedal. There was no indication of any failure prior to the failure.

Vehicle lifters failed early February 2024 while driving. Lifters were replaced and returned to us. One week later the entire engine seized while at 75 mph freeway. Vehicle currently in for repairs for 30+ days and still not fixed. Have had the Yukon in the shop 8 times for electrical, engine, computer failures all previously identified in complaints listed on this website. Family was put at risk on a known chronic engine failure as told by the service department and technician.

This complaint is an addendum to a complaint I filed last week regarding the suspension of my same vehicle. 1. Battery: battery died several times without warning and the cause was never found. Took 4 trips to the dealer to get a new battery placed. Dealer blamed various “modules” each time. I believe that electrical system is faulty because the windshield wiper sprayer also stopped working, and the heads up display flickered at times. Issue 2: “low engine oil pressure warning. Turn vehicle off immediately” warning at 17,800 miles while driving on the highway. Had to immediately pull over and per GMC, the vehicle was not able to be driven and had to be towed to the dealership, leaving me stranded at night in a vehicle that I couldn’t turn on while I waited to be picked up.

The lifters failed about two months from buying it from the dealership. The vehicle was new and only had 13 miles when it was bought. The vehicle had about 600 miles when the lifters failed. As he vehicle was being driving on the highway it started making a clicking noise and the engine would pull and lost power. The vehicle was taken to the dealership and was in service for about 3 weeks for repairs. No one other than the dealership has inspected the vehicle. There was no warning lamps, messages or symptoms prior to the failure.

While stopped at a stop sign the vehicles start/stop activated and turned off the engine. When I released the break to hit the gas the engine would not turn back on. I was stuck in the middle of the road and unable to restart my vehicle. After several minutes of trying to turn the vehicle off/on it started back up. The second incident happened when using the remote start. Once I entered the vehicle and put my foot on the brake and hit the start button the engine completely died. Radio and heat stayed on but the engine wouldn't turn over. After letting it be for a half hour everything was still on inside the vehicle but the engine still wouldn't turn over. I disconnected the battery and reconnect it. Once that was done the vehicle started back up. Vehicle was brought to the dealership, but was told there is no fix and to not use the automatic start or auto start/stop on the vehicle

On September 9th at approximately 5:00 pm, my wife and I left Augusta and headed to Atlanta to attend an event. While driving highway speeds of about 70-80mph, the vehicle began to decelerate rapidly and then shifted itself into neutral gear. Unable to shift back into drive, I was forced to maneuver my slowing vehicle onto the shoulder of the highway, placing myself and my wife in danger of colliding with the other vehicles who were still travelling at highway speeds. After pulling over onto the shoulder, I was able to shift the vehicle into park and turn it completely off. After a few minutes, I turned the vehicle back on and integrated back into traffic. Approximately 20 minutes later, the vehicle began to have trouble accelerating and I was unable to exceed 65mph on a highway where the speed limit was 70mph, and the other vehicles were exceeding that. My wife and I were sitting ducks in Atlanta traffic. I once again planned to pull the vehicle over when it suddenly made a loud noise and began to vibrate violently. From the far left lane, I found myself fighting with a vehicle that refused to accelerate and was now becoming uncontrollable. I managed to take the next exit, and parked the vehicle. After turning off the vehicle, I waited a few moments and tried to start it again. The vehicle did start, but continued to vibrate aggressively, as well as make loud clunking and squeaking sounds from under the hood. There was also a smell of something burning. For our safety, my wife and I exited the vehicle, as it had been rendered completely inoperable. I was forced to have the vehicle towed. The vehicle is currently at John Miles Chevrolet Buick GMC in Conyers, GA. (678)374-4695. The dealer has not confirmed the problem. No inspection has been done to date. When to vehicle shifted to neutral I believe the only warning light said "Conditions not correct for shifting". It only appeared when the vehicle shifted into neutral.

July 5, 2022. Engine Lifter Failure. While driving my new 2022 Yukon Denali (with only 14,400 miles on it), I made a right hand turn into a parking lot. The engine just shut off. No warning lights ever came on. The only thing I had noticed was some unknown noise when I started up the truck and getting underway. The sound promptly went away. I attempted to restart the engine but it would not even turn over. My vehicle was blocking the driveway to the parking lot, creating a traffic hazard on a major street. I had the vehicle towed to a GM dealer who determined the next day that engine had failed due to a known lifter problem. The head mechanic was able to get the truck restarted and the same issue replicated itself. The mechanic received approval to replace the entire engine assembly, but it is on back order. There is no ETA to when the parts will be available. I am fortunate that the vehicle did not shut down in a lane of traffic, on the freeway, or out in the desert or mountains. From my research, this issue with the engine lifters in the 6.2 liter engine has been known by GM for well over 10 years. The engine needs to be recalled and the lifter issue corrected.
