TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HARLEY DAVIDSON FLHX MOTORCYCLE. SINCE NOVEMBER OF 2007, THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF WHEN THE CONTACT PULLS IN THE CLUTCH WITHOUT THROTTLE. AFTER THE FIRST FAILURE, THE ISSUE OCCURRED ON OCCASION. HOWEVER, AFTER JANUARY OF 2008, THE VEHICLE WOULD CONSISTENTLY SHUT OFF WHENEVER THE CONTACT PULLED IN THE CLUTCH WITHOUT THROTTLE. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOP AFTER HE WAS ALMOST INVOLVED IN A CRASH DUE TO THE FAILURE. SECONDLY, THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL AFTER BEING RESTARTED AND WOULD IDLE AT 4,000 RPMS. THE CONTACT HAS TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOP AT LEAST EIGHT TIMES WITH NO SUCCESS. HE WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH DUE TO THIS FAILURE AND WAS INJURED. THIRDLY, WHEN THE THROTTLE WAS PULLED, THE VEHICLE WOULD COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. THE FAILURE OCCURRED AT LEAST TEN TIMES AND THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO WAIT FROM TEN MINUTES TO AN HOUR FOR IT TO RESTART. HE FEELS THESE ARE SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUES. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 18,000.
