Honda is using cheap brake pads/rotors on their cars. I was parked and went in reverse and the brake pads started squealing so loudly, something didn’t seem right. I’ve never heard this sound before and my family hasn’t either who’ve owned many cars before. I took it to the dealership and they were able to reproduce the sound. They said nothing could be done even though the brake pads are too thick. This seems to happen when it’s humid, raining or cold. The dealership didn’t really care but this seems like a hazard. I’ve read on forums and researched online that this is a very common issue and nothing is being done to fix it. A recall should be issue because this can be a road hazard.

Explanation Provided: According to the dealership, the following issues were identified: Faulty electric brake booster Incomplete steering angle neutral position learning Lost communication with various control units, including the electric servo brake and electric brake booster control units, as well as multiple system failures (e.g., CAN communication, VSA brake actuator, sensor calibration, and F-CAN). Lain keeping failure, Cruise control failure. It made me in a dangerous situation. Suddenly, break didn’t work. This car is very defensive. It has to be a recall.

Vehicle won't start due to a Brake System problem. It's some type of electrical problem with the brake. This looks to be a problem with Honda.

Rear brakes make squealing noise when vehicle is placed in reverse while in motion. This issue has been happening within the first year I had the vehicle from new. Took the vehicle in for inspection with no reported issues. Noise still persists. Other Honda Accord owners have reported similar issues.

The rear brakes on my 2023 accord started making squealing/grinding noise in reverse each morning. the noise was not the normal noise heard when the brakes are moist in the mornings. I went to the dealer with this complaint 3 times and was told a different story each time. yesterday they informed me that the pads and rotors are in need of replacement. the vehicle has 16,500 miles on it. I believe after talking to the service manager that honda is aware of this issue and should issue a recall before there is a brake failure and people get hurt.

My daughter and I just bought this 2022 Honda Accord on 04/29/2023. On 6/28/2023, she was headed home, driving North, and was coming to the busy intersection of a County Road and Highway. She went to brake, but the brakes did not respond. In order to avoid hitting another vehicle, she swerved and blew through the intersection. Thank goodness she did not hit anyone in the intersection AND no one hit her. It could have been so bad. She did come to rest in a farmer's field on the Northeast corner of the intersection. According to the shop that is currently processing the claim with State Farm and investigating the repairs and damage, many error lights are lit up on the dash as relates to the brakes, forward collision warning, and emergency braking. They indicated that they need to work with Honda to clear, verify, and repair everything related to those codes. The vehicle is scheduled to be towed to Honda of Greeley on Wednesday, 7/19/2023. In my research, I did see the NHTSA Acknowledgment of Recall Letter just signed on 06/22/2023 by Alex Ansley for the 2022 Honda Accord, indicating that a recall would be issued in regards to an issue with the brakes, that may be related to my daughter's accident. I also read further that the actual recall letters would be mailed out 07/24/2023. I am just not sure if this would also cover the 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid.

My daughter just bought this 2022 Honda Accord on 04/29/2023 (in her name and my name). According to the shop that is currently processing the claim with State Farm and investigating the repairs and damage, many error lights (about 10) are lit up on the dash as relates to the brakes, forward collision warning, and emergency braking. They indicated that they need to work with Honda to clear, verify, and repair everything related to those codes. I still need to call the police dept for a copy of their report, but they did issue her a citation for running the stop sign. In my research, I did see the NHTSA Acknowledgment of Recall Letter just signed on 06/22/2023 by Alex Ansley, indicating that a recall would be issued in regards to an issue with the brakes, that may be related to my daughter's accident. I also read further that the actual recall letters would be mailed out 07/24/2023. Sincerely, Cameron Gomez (Very concerned Dad) for Kaitlyn Gomez (Very lucky daughter)

Hello, I bought a new Honda Accord Hybrid from Schaumburg Honda, Illinois on 11/23/2022. Within one week of buying the car, the following error messages appeared on the dashboard with the Brake System light on 1.Adaptive Cruise Control Systems Problem See Dealer 2.Collision Mitigation Braking System Problem See Dealer 3.Road Departure Mitigation System Problem See Dealer I took my car to the dealer at Schaumburg Honda on 12/13/2022 and they inspected the car and said they did not find anything defective and reset the error codes. After one week, adding about 30 miles, I had the same error message displayed. I contacted Honda and raised a complaint – 13553020 reading this issue and on their advice, I had my car checked by a different dealer Valley Honda at Naperville on 12/27/2022. They did the same and drove the car for another 30 miles and the code was gone. Again after two weeks, the same error messages are on the dashboard. I stopped using the car as it was a safety hazard to dive with the brake system malfunctioning and updated Honda the same. The car has been used for daily commutes for work and driving within 40 miles per hour depending on the allowed speed limits. Even though this qualifies as a lemon car but Honda is declining and asking me to take it to the dealer again (3rd time). The defects of the car substantially impacted my ability to use the vehicle. The defects also rendered the vehicle unsafe for use. Regards [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
