KEY WAS REMOVED FROM IGNITION SWITCH WHILE THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT LEVER WAS INADVERTANTLY LEFT IN THE " DRIVE " POSITION. VEHICLE HAD ROLLED ABOUT 20 FEET IN A PARKING LOT WHEN I RETURNED. THIS IS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN IF THE " IGNITION INTERLOCK " IS FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY. *TR

ON JULY 5, 2010, THE VEHICLE WAS IN DRIVE WHEN THE KEY CAME OUT OF THE IGNITION CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO ROLL OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY INTO A DITCH NEAR HIS NEIGHBORS RESIDENCE. THE WHEELS WERE STRADDLED ON BOTH SIDES OF THE DITCH. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE POLICE WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 122,000.
