AFRAID CAR MIGHT KILL ME! Hello, I have reported this issue before but am getting zero help. My car has a problem where it is burning through the oil, I've had numerous mechanics try to figure out what is causing it but, nothing. I would get an oil change today and before the month is out, I would have to continue checking and putting oil in the car because it would be completely dry. No leaks ever detected... I've change the oil to full synthetic and still have the problem. The vehicle continuously losses power when driving uphill, My check engine light stays on and the light in the glove compartment does not go off while driving. I'm worried my engine will blow up if the problem persist. I am the original and only owner of this vehicle. There is also a problem with the suspension or axel, when I push hard on the brakes, the car makes a noise like the bottom fell out and is dragging metal on the floor. Mechanic also cannot figure that out, I've paid over 6k in diagnosis, repairs and time trying to get help and nothing. I would like to get my honda checked and fixed. I Anxiously await a response and solution to this car. I have Covid and this is my only source of transportation.

When I put key in to start car it does not start I let it sit and will do it two to three times before it will turn over. Car stereo had to take fuse out it would not shut of I was told it was electrical and may be my starter also my abs light is constantly on and only the abs works when it wants .also have had battery replaced but problem still persists only has 104,000 miles on her problems started a few years back asked honda about the problem and they said no recalls on these problems

ONE DAY AS I WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT, I HAPPEN TO USE MY HIGH BEAMS. ONCE TURNING THEM ON, IT SHUT MY ENGINE OFF WHILE IN MOTION. THERE WERE NO PRIOR SERVICES DONE TO MY MY CAR THAT WOULD MAKE ME THINK IT COULD BE MALFUNCTIONING DUE TO A MECHANIC'S ERROR. I ALSO TRIED TURNING MY HIGH BEAMS ON WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING AND IN PARK. IT STILL SHUT MY ENGINE OFF. EVERY MECHANIC I ASKED FOR A DIAGNOSTIC, THEY WERE BLOWN AND RESPONDED WITH NEVER HEARING OF THIS PROBLEM. I REPLACED THE OLD ALTERNATOR WITH A NEW ONE AND IT STILL DOES THE SAME THING. SINCE THE PURCHASE OF MY CAR, THE ONLY PARTS I REPLACED WAS AND O-RING FOR THE POWER STEERING, BRAKE CALIBERS AND ROTORS AND RECENTLY THE ALTERNATOR. I COMPLETELY STOPPED DRIVING IT TO PREVENT ANY FURTHER DAMAGE OR POSSIBLE ACCIDENTS.

SAFETY ISSUE IS I CAN'T LOCK OR UNLOCK THE DOORS.

IT WAS IDLING AND POLLUTING CANCEROUS CLOUDS. IT SEEMS THERE IS NO ONLINE REPORTING FORM FOR VEHICLE AIR POLLUTION IN WA STATE, BUT THERE IS ONE IN OREGON.

MY CAR IS NOT EQUIPPED WITH STABILITY CONTROL, BUT IT DOES HAVE TRACTION CONTROL, WHICH CAN BE DISABLED BY A SWITCH ON THE LEFT END OF THE DASHBOARD. THE TRACTION CONTROL SEEMS TO WORK WELL AT SPEEDS ABOVE 30 MPH, BUT WHEN STARTING OUT, IF THE CAR HITS A SLIPPERY PATCH, INSTEAD OF PULSING THE BRAKES TO KEEP THE WHEELS FROM SPINNING, AS THE CHRYSLER LHS I OWNED PREVIOUSLY DID, IT SIMPLY GIVES UP, CUTTING MOST OF THE ENGINE POWER, LEAVING THE CAR UNABLE TO GO MORE THAN 2 OR 3 MPH. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WHEN CROSSING INTERSECTIONS WITH STOP SIGNS AND CAN EVEN CREATE A HAZARD WHEN THE INTERSECTION IS CONTROLLED BY A STOP LIGHT. IT CAN BE AVOIDED BY DISABLING THE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM BEFORE HAND, BUT THE DISABLE BUTTON WON'T WORK IF UNLESS THE CAR IS AT A COMPLETE STOP, CREATING A PANIC SITUATION IF THE SYSTEM KICKS IN UNEXPECTEDLY. NO CAR SHOULD BE ALLOWED ON THE ROAD WITH A SYSTEM LIKE THIS, BUT MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT A NUMBER OF OTHER MAKES EXHIBIT THE SAME BEHAVIOR, POSSIBLY DUE TO A COMMON VENDOR. THERE ARE TRAFFIC DEATHS DUE TO IMPROPERLY TIMED INTERSECTION CROSSINGS EVERY DAY, AND GIVEN THE BEHAVIOR OF SYSTEMS LIKE THIS, I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT NO DEATHS HAVE RESULTED FROM IT. I'VE BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO RECOGNIZE THE SYSTEM'S BAD BEHAVIOR AND DISABLE IT MORE OFTEN THAN I WOULD HAVE TO DISABLE A PROPERLY DESIGNED SYSTEM; THE AVERAGE DRIVER SHOULD NOT BE FACED WITH SUCH A BURDEN. PLEASE TAKE ACTION AGAINST ALL OF THE COMPANIES THAT ALLOWED A SYSTEM LIKE THIS TO GET ONTO OUR ROADS. STARTED HAVING TROUBLE GETTING KEY IN LOCK APPROX. 3/1/15. PROGRESSED TO NOT BEING ABLE TO GET KEY IN DOOR AT ALL AROUND 5/1/15. SERVICED AT HONDA DEALERSHIP ON 5/7/15 WITH LOCK CYLINDER AND ARRANGED TUMBLERS FOR ORIGINAL KEY. WORKED OKAY UNTIL 6/20/15. AT THIS TIME I INSERTED MY KEY, BUT KEY WOULD NOT TURN TO UNLOCK MY DOOR. ENTERED THE PASSENGER DOOR AND TRIED TO UNLOCK DOOR MANUALLY BY PULLING UP DOOR LOCK - WOULD NOT BUDGE. AFTER I CRAWLED ACROSS THE CENTER CONSOLE I GIGGLED DOOR A FEW TIMES AND WAS ABLE TO PULL UP DOOR LOCK. DROVE HOME AND TRIED OPENING DOOR WITH KEY AND IT WORKED FINE. TODAY, 6/22/15 WHEN I RETURNED HOME FROM THE STORE I PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY AND LOCKED THE DOOR. WHEN I REALIZED THAT I HAD LOCKED IT I TRIED TO UNLOCK IT WITH THE KEY. AGAIN, THE KEY WOULD GO IN, BUT IT WOULD NOT TURN TO UNLOCK THE DOOR. CALLED HONDA DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT IT SOUNDED LIKE THE ACTUATOR. I KNOW HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE MY CAR SERVICED FOR THIS PROBLEM. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING AFTER GOING ON LINE THAT THIS IS A LONG STANDING PROBLEM THAT HONDA HAS BEEN AWARE OF, BUT OBVIOUSLY WAS UNWILLING TO RECALL AND FIX. I BELIEVE THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION SUIT FILLED, HOWEVER I WAS UNAWARE OF IT AND MY 2005 WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS SUIT. SINCE THIS IS STILL AN ONGOING PROBLEM IT IS LONG PAST TIME FOR HONDA TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR REPLACING THESE ACTUATORS AT THEIR EXPENSE NOT MINE.

AIR BAG RED ICON KEPT COMING ON ON DASH AND HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THIS FIXED FOR OVER A YEAR. DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY HONDA DOES NOT CONSIDER LONG ISLAND, NY, A HUMID TERRITORY. HONDA NEEDS TO VISIT LONG ISLAND TO SEE HOW HUMID IT IS. THIS CAR MUST BE USED FOR A ROAD TEST NEXT WEEK AND I MUST NOW PAY OUT OF POCKET TO GET THE ICON OFF PERMANENTLY AND THE PROBLEM FIXED, AS WELL AS HAVE THE AIR BAGS REPLACED TO ENSURE THEY ARE GOOD. THIS IS DANGEROUS IF YOU ARE PARKED ON A HILL WITH VEHICLES AROUND YOU. YOU COULD END UP HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE. I PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE ON APRIL 28TH 2008. THE CARFAX REPORT HAD AN ACCIDENT INDICATOR BY THE SECOND OWNER, BUT DID NOT MENTION WHAT TYPE OF ACCIDENT IN TERMS OF MODERATE, MINOR, NO DAMAGE, ETC. THIS REPORT WAS PRINTED MARCH 24TH 2008. WHEN I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE THE AIR BAG LIGHT WAS ON, AND WHEN DRIVING; IT STILL STAYED ON AND I TOLD ATLANTA USED CAR DEALERSHIP, WHO TOLD ME TO TAKE IT TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP TO LOOK AT IT AND STATED THAT ITS PROBABLY A GLITCH. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE HONDA CAR DEALERSHIP TO INSPECT. THE HONDA DEALERSHIP FOUND THE SRS CONTROL UNIT AND THE PASSENGER SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG FAULTY. AS STATED ON MY CUSTOMER INVOICE FROM GWINNETT PLACE HONDA, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG APPEARED TO BE CUT OUT. CARFAX DID NOT REPORT THAT THERE IS A DEFICIENT AIRBAG. ANOTHER INCIDENT FOUND IS THAT THE ACCELERATOR OCCASIONALLY STICK WHEN TRYING TO DEPRESS. THE HONDA DEALERSHIP FOUND THERE WAS A CARBON BUILD UP AND IT NEEDED SERVICE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE RIGHT OUTER TIE ROD END, WHICH IS ON THE RIGHT PASSENGER WHERE THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED. THE DEALER STATED IT WAS UNSAFE FOR ME TO DRIVE WITHOUT REPLACING THE TIE ROD, WHICH WAS SERVICED AND THEY ALSO PERFORMED A 4 WHEEL ALIGNMENT AND TEST DRIVE BEFORE I LEFT. THE AIR CONDITIONING ON MY 2005 HONDA ACCORD HYBRID FAILED WHILE ON A NEW YEAR HOLIDAY VISIT TO ARIZONA. WHEN I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL DEALER FOR REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY, THEY TOLD ME THAT IT IS DUE TO DAMAGE FROM ROAD DEBRIS MAKING A HOLE IN THE CONDENSER, AND THAT IT WOULD COST ME $875 TO REPAIR. THIS WOULD SEEM TO BE A DESIGN FAULT, PUTTING SOMETHING SO APPARENTLY FRAGILE AT THE FRONT OF A CAR, BEHIND AN OPENING 28 1/2 INCHES BY 5 WITH ONLY ONE HORIZONTAL BAR UNDER 1/4 INCH WIDE AND 3 VERTICALS LESS THAN 1/8 INCH WIDE. AC CONDENSER PRONE TO DAMAGE. WITH THE PLACEMENT OF THE CONDENSER, IT IS EASILY DAMAGED BY FLYING OBJECTS HITTING IT DURING THE DRIVE. I WENT TO THE DEALER TO DROP OFF MY CAR EARLIER TODAY TO CHECK ON THE AC PROBLEM AND THE FIRST THING THE SERVICE ADVISOR DID WAS LOOK AT THE CONDENSER AND SHOW ME THE MANY DENTS AND MARKS. HE SAID LIKELY, IT WAS HIT BY A LITTLE PEBBLE WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND THAT IT IS A VERY COMMON FOR THE CONDENSER TO BE DAMAGED SMALL FLYING OBJECTS. I ONLY HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR 1.5 YEARS. I DID A QUICK CHECK ONLINE AND SOMEONE ELSE ALSO HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND SHE ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR LESS THAN 3 MONTHS. *JB

VEHICLE PURCHASED 8/1/2006, PASSED SAFETY INSPECTION BY HONDA DEALER. BEGINNING ON 9/1/2006 AIR CONDITIONER RETURNED NO COLD AIR. HONDA DEALER CLAIMS A ROCK IMPACT CAUSED A HOLE IN THE AIR CONDITIONING CONDENSER, LEADING TO A LEAKING OF REFRIGERANT AND LOSS OF COOLING FUNCTION. I BELIEVE THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW, AS THE PROBLEM IS WELL-DOCUMENTED BY MANY CONSUMERS. HONDA REFUSED TO COVER THE REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY, INSTEAD CHARGING THE CONSUMER $750. *JB

MY 2005 HONDA ACCORD EX HAS THREE FEATURES THAT COMPROMISE MY SAFETY: 1. THE RIGHT-HAND CORNER OF THE SUN VISOR, WHEN IN ITS FULLEST POSITION (NOT AT AN ANGLE), OBSCURES NEARLY HALF OF THE REARVIEW MIRROR. THIS HAS CAUSED A NUMBER OF "NEAR ACCIDENT" EVENTS. 2. THE HONDA IS DESIGNED TO DOWNSHIFT WHEN GOING DOWNHILL. NOT ONLY DOES THIS DIMINISH GAS EFFICIENCY, BUT CAN CAUSE SKIDS IN ICY WEATHER. 3. THE BRAKES ARE EXTREMELY SENSITIVE. I HAVE SPOKEN TO TWO AREA HONDA SERVICE CENTERS AND A SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE AT HONDA HEADQUARTER. THE AREA MANAGERS SAY THAT "THEY'RE ALL LIKE THAT; THERE'S NOTHING WE CAN DO," AND THE HONDA HEADQUARTERS REP SAYS THE SAME. SHE EVEN WENT SO FAR AS TO RECOMMEND I GET THE LOWER HALF OF MY WINDSHIELD TINTED TO PREVENT SUN GLARE! WHAT ABOUT NIGHT DRIVING? I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT SOLUTIONS TO THIS PROBLEM CANNOT BE FOUND. DT: THE CONTACT STATED AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE HE BEGAN TO NOTICE CRACKS IN THE STEERING WHEEL ABOVE THE AIR BAGS. HE CONTACTED HONDA AND SPOKE WITH A REPRESENTATIVE. THE REPRESENTATIVE HAD SOMEONE ELSE TO CALL HIM BACK. THE REPRESENTATIVE TOLD HIM THAT THIS PROBLEM WAS HIS FAULT BECAUSE OF THE WAY HE WAS PRESSING THE HORN. BOTH TIMES THE AIRBAG WERE REPLACED BY THE DEALERSHIP UNDER WARRANTY. HE WENT TO A BODY SHOP AND SAW TWO OTHER VEHICLES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM ,AND THEY TOLD HIM IF THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED THEN IT COULD CAUSE INJURY TO HIM.*AK UPDATED 12/27/05. *JB
