I got a notice on a recall again for the air bags for my Honda accord 2007 7GQU329. I have another issue with it my catalytic converter got stolen again and the 1st time the insurance covered it and it got stolen last week again and the insurance is telling me that it’s fraud and they will only cover it once. While this is an issue in my area stealing this parts now my car is totaled and undrivable.
After calling my local Honda dealership I was denied services. Due to my vehicles airbag already being deployed in an accident. Honda manger stated no work will be done since my vehicles already has deployed airbags. Would have been the case since I bought the car off a salvage auction, with the airbags deployed.

In November 2019 my key fob became inoperable and I called a local Conicelli Honda dealer in Conshohocken, PA to see if they could replace it. They said they could replace it so I took my 2007 Honda Accord there to purchase a new key fob. When I spoke to the service person she informed me that I would have to get the airbag recall issue addressed also and that it would be no charge to have that done. So I agreed. Now years later I'm still receiving the airbag recall notices. Can you help me?
Passenger side curtain air bag deployed and failed to inflate.
I have taken my car for the airbag recalls in the past. A few weeks ago, after taking the car to a car wash, the airbag icon came on my dash. I had it put on a diagnostic machine and it showed AIR BAG:FRONTAL:DRIVER SIDE:INFLATOR MODULE. The local Honda dealership will not fix it unless I pay out of my pocket. I don't feel like I should have to pay for a repair and I'm concerned that the airbag won't deploy in an accident.

Airbag light is on and caused a failed safety inspection. Dealer told me the SRS unit/controller/module needed to be replaced and will cost ~ $1k even though there is a bulletin (TSB 20-015) that a Honda representative said covers the problem. The Honda rep told this to the dealership Service Director on the phone with me on the phone with them, but now the dealership is telling me it isn't covered and they can't get the part, so this seems like an important safety issue - particularly if the part isn't available, suggesting many others are having the same problem - so maybe a recall is needed for this? I CAN'T GET THIS DONE BECAUSE IT WILL TAKE AT LEAST HALF A DAY AT A DEALERSHIP THAT IS ABOUT 45 MILES FROM WHERE I LIVE (AND WORK) AND THEY DON'T OFFER REMOTE REPAIR. FORD DOES, BUT APPARENTLY HONDA DOES NOT, SO I CAN'T GET THIS TAKEN CARE OF. I AM UNABLE TO SPEND HALF OF A WORK DAY IN THE CITY SITTING AT A DEALERSHIP WAITING FOR MY CAR.

THERE HAVE BEEN 8 RECALLS ON THE 2007 HONDA ACCORDS REGARDING THE AIR BAGS. THERE WERE RECALLS ON THE 2008 - 2009 HONDA ACCORDS SRS UNIT WHERE HONDA DID REPLACE THE SRS UNITS FOR FREE. THIS 2007 HONDA ACCORD WAS PURCHASE IN JULY OF 2007 AND BY JULY OF ANY YEAR THE NEXT YEARS MODELS ARE ALREADY OUT ON THE CAR LOTS AS WELL. SINCE 2008 HONDA ACCORDS WERE ALREADY ON THE LOTS THERE IS A CHANCE THAT THE SAME SRS UNIT THAT WAS RECALLED IN THE 2008 - 2009 HONDA ACCORDS COULD BE IN MY 2007 ACCORD. THE HONDA SERVICE GUY WORKING MY TICKET ASKED WHEN WAS THE CAR IN A FRONT END COLLISION. MY CAR HAS NEVER BEEN IN A FRONT END CAR COLLISION. HE SAID THAT THIS IS USUALLY WHEN THESE CODES HAPPEN. THE CODES MEAN THAT THE AIRBAGS HAVE BEEN DEPLOYED WHICH THEY HAVE NOT. MY MOTHER AND I HAVE BEEN THE ONLY OWNERS AND I HAVE BEEN THE ONLY DRIVER. HONDA OF AMERICAN SAID "AT SOME POINT AND TIME THE OWNER HAS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR REPAIRS". I HAVE FOR ALL REPAIRS THAT HAVE BEEN DONE TO THE CAR, BUT WITH ALL THE RECALLS AND THEM STATING "THEY WOULDN'T HAVE REPLACED AIRBAGS IN A CAR WHEN THE AIRBAGS HAD NO CHANCE OF DEPLOYING". THAT IS EXACTLY THE CASE IN THIS INSTANCE. THE AIRBAG CODES WERE DISPLAYED AND DIAGNOSED BEFORE THE AIRBAGS WERE REPLACE WITH THIS LAST RECALL. AS LONG AS THE CHECK AIRBAG LIGHT IS DISPLAYED THE AIRBAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY. THE HONDA SERVICE TECH SAID THIS. HONDA STATES "IF THEY GET ENOUGH COMPLAINTS AND COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT THE PARTS ARE DEFECTIVE THEN THEY WILL REIMBURSE ME". HOW MANY COMPLAINTS DO YOU HAVE TO HAVE BEFORE THERE THERE IS AN INVESTIGATION TO SEE IF THE PARTS ARE DEFECTIVE.

DUE TO THE SCRAPES ON THE BUMPER, THE DEALER BLAMED THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT ON THE CONTACT. THE CONTACT WAS ASSIGNED A CASE NUMBER AND PROMISED A CALL BACK. THE MANUFACTURER EVEN HUNG UP ON THE CONTACT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. IN THE INTERIM, THE VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE ANY FUNCTIONING PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,000.

TAKATA INFLATORS. RECEIVED APRIL 2019 NHSTA RECALL 19V-182 IN MAIL. NEXT DAY CALLED GUNN HONDA WHERE VEHICLE PURCHASED & REQUESTED APPOINTMENT TO ADDRESS RECALL. PROVIDED VIN, DEALER REP FOUND CAR AND MY NAME IN THEIR SYSTEM. REP TOLD ME ALL RECALL APPTS HAD TO BE MADE BY SERVICE ADVISOR & SOMEONE WOULD CALL ME BY NEXT DAY. NO CALL RECEIVED SO I CALLED AGAIN THE NEXT DAY. I EXPLAINED THIS CAR WOULD BE DRIVEN BY MY SON WHEN HE RETURNED FROM COLLEGE & SO NEEDED TO HAVE THIS SAFETY ISSUE ADDRESSED BEFORE HE DROVE CAR. REP AGAIN TOLD ME ONLY SERVICE ADVISOR COULD MAKE A RECALL WORK APPT & THAT SHE WOULD MARK MY CALL A PRIORITY & I WOULD HEAR BACK LATER THAT DAY. FEW DAYS LATER, STILL NO CALL. CALLED THIRD TIME, AGAIN TOLD A SERVICE ADVISOR WOULD CALL ME WITH APPT FOR RECALL WORK. FOUR WEEKS LATER, GUNN HONDA DEALERSHIP SERVICE ADVISOR HAS STILL NOT CALLED. CLEARLY, THIS DEALERSHIP HAS NO CONCERN FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS' SAFETY & THE NEED FOR ACTION ON A NHSTA MANDATED RECALL. TODAY, I FILED AN ONLINE REPORT WITH AMERICAN HONDA TO REPORT THE DEALERSHIP'S REFUSAL TO SCHEDULE RECALL WORK. THE GUNN HONDA DEALERSHIP HAS A BLATANT DISREGARD FOR THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE THEY SOLD TO ME. CLEARLY, DEATHS AND INJURIES HAVE OCCURRED BECAUSE OF THESE MALFUNCTIOINING INFLATORS YET THEY WILL NOT ADDRESS THE (SECOND) RECALL. WHAT IS THE POINT OF ISSUING A RECALL WHEN THE CAR OWNER IS UNABLE TO OBTAIN THE REPAIR AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY PURCHASED THE VEHICLE? YESTERDAY, I DROVE THE VEHICLE TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP LOCATED AT A FURTHER DISTANCE FROM MY HOME AND THIS DEALERSHIP (HILL COUNTRY HONDA) ADDRESSED THE RECALL WORK. PLEASE NOTE MY ATTEMPTS TO OBTAIN AN APPT & WAITING TO GET A RESPONSE FROM GUNN HONDA OCCURRED OVER AN ABT 6 WEEK PERIOD THAT BEGAN WITH MY RECEIPT OF THE 19V-182 RECALL NOTICE IN APRIL.

MY SON AND HIS FRIEND WERE BOTH WEARING THEIR SEATBELTS AND THEY RAN THE LIGHT ON YELLOW SINCE IT WAS NOT SAFE TO STOP BECAUSE OF THE SPEED HE WAS GOING. WHICH ANYTHING ABOVE 35 MAKES IT UNSAFE. AND OF COURSE THE PERSON TOOK OFF BEING CARELESS HERSELF. AND OF COURSE AN ACCIDENT OCCURRED, BUT THE HONDA AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOYED AND THE SEATBELTS BECAME LOOSE SO BOTH MY SON & HIS FRIEND HAD TO BRACE THEMSELVES FROM THE IMPACT OF THE ACCIDENT. SOMETIME IN 2016 I WENT TO A PAINT SHOP AND COULDN'T GET THE VEHICLE PAINTED BECAUSE OF THE DEFECTED AIRBAGS. MACCO PAINT SHOP SHOWED ME A DOCUMENT WHERE MY HONDA 2007 HAD A RECALLED ON AIRBAGS. IN 2017 SOME DOCUMENTS CAME WHERE THEY WHERE SUING HONDA FOR THE DEFECT AIRBAGS, I SIGN DOCUMENTS TO RECEIVE FIVE-HUNDRED NO LATER THAN FEB. 2018. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY MONEY AND I SURE HAVE .

AFTER REPLACING THE BATTERY THE LIGHT TURNED OFF AND EVERYTHING WAS GOOD. MONTHS LATER, THE AIRBAG LIGHT TURNED ON AGAIN. I TOOK MY CAR TO ANOTHER HONDA SERVICE CENTER AND HAD IT TESTED ONCE AGAIN. THIS TIME I WAS TOLD THAT MY SRS CONTROL UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACE DUE TO CORROSION/OLD AGE. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS FURTHER, I FOUND THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON THE SRS CONTROL UNIT FOR HONDA VEHICLES. UNFORTUNATELY, THIS RECALL EXCLUDED MY PARTICULAR YEAR. I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS PUBLIC SAFETY ISSUE AND I BELIEVE THAT HONDA SHOULD EXPAND THIS PARTICULAR RECALL TO OTHER YEARS. OTHERS MAY NOT BE AS PROACTIVE IN TAKING THEIR VEHICLE IN FOR TESTING OR PAYING FOR THE TEST AND UNIT OUT OF POCKET. TUESDAY, JANUARY 26TH, 2016, APPROX.9:45PM, MY WIFE AND I WERE TRAVELING HOME FROM NEW JERSEY BACK TO NEW YORK THROUGH HIGHLY POPULATED TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIAN ZONES. OUR 2007 HONDA ACCORD 4CYL, SEDAN WITH 59,700 MILES CAME TO A STOP WHILE TRAVELING APPROX 20MPH AS WE PASSED AN INTERSECTION DUE TO DRIVER SIDE CURTAIN AND SEAT DEPLOYING WITHOUT CAUSE. NO OTHER VEHICLE/PEDESTRIAN WAS INVOLVED, FORTUNATELY, AND NO DAMAGE WAS DONE TO OUR VEHICLE. HOWEVER THE AIRBAGS STRICTLY ON THE DRIVER SIDE, THAT ARE NOT PART OF A RECALL, DEPLOYED/MALFUNCTIONED THUS POTENTIALLY MAY HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS OR FATAL ACCIDENT HAD ANOTHER VEHICLE OR PEDESTRIAN BEEN NEARBY. LOCAL DEALER, PARAGON IN WOODSIDE, APPRAISED DAMAGE AND COST OF REPAIR AT $6,000.00 PARTS AND LABOR. THE SERVICE ENGINEER CONCLUDED ANY DIPS IN ROADS, POTHOLES, HILLS, BASICALLY LANDSCAPES THAT DIRECT/FORCE THE FRONT OF A VEHICLE FORWARD COULD POTENTIALLY SET OFF THE SENSOR FOR AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. CONTRARY TO THEIR 'PROFESSIONAL' STATEMENT OUR VEHICLE DID NOT SEE SUCH A SCENARIO WHERE ONLY DRIVER SIDE OF VEHICLE WOULD REQUIRE AIRBAGS BEING DEPLOYED. SHOULD THE ROAD CONDITIONS BEEN SEVERVE ALL AIRBAGS SHOULD OF DEPLOYED. HAVING SAID THAT THIS SHOULD NOT BE THE CASE. SHOULD THEIR STATEMENT BE "TRUE" CONSEQUENTLY AIRBAGS WOULD BE GOING OFF WITH NO ACCIDENTS MORE OFTEN, AND THIS WOULD BE A REGULAR REPAIR AND PUTTING A GREATER POPULATION AT RISK. WE BELIEVE THE DRIVER SIDE MALFUNCTIONED AND WE CANNOT BE HELD REPONSIBLE WHEN THIS SAFETY FEATURE IS OUT OF OUR CONTROL. WE CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH THAT THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT. VEHICLE WAS MOVING IN A STRAIGHT LINE 20MPH GOING THROUGH A GREEN LIGHT, ON A MODEST INCLINE DOWNHILL AT BEST. MY HONDA ACCORD HAD A RECALL FOR BOTH DRIVERS SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS. I CALLED THE HONDA DEALER CLOSEST TO ME TO SET UP AND APPT. TO GET THEM REPLACED. TOOK MY CAR INTO THE RYAN HONDA DEALERSHIP AND THEY PERFORMED THE WORK IN A COUPLE OF HOURS. WHEN I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP, WHICH WAS AT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT CLOSING TIME, I NOTICED MY SEATBELT/AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON, AND WOULD NEVER GO OFF (THIS LIGHT WAS NOT ON BEFORE I HAD THE PARTS REPLACED). I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO EXPLAIN TO THEM THAT THE LIGHT CAME ON AFTER THE AIRBAGS WERE REPLACED AND WILL NOT GO OFF. THEY TOLD ME THAT MY SEATBELT SENSOR WAS OUT AND THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE AIRBAGS! WELL, MY SEATBELT SENSOR WAS NOT OUT BEFORE THEY DID THE WORK ON MY CAR. NOW, I'M LEARY THAT THE AIRBAGS WERE NOT INSTALLED PROPERLY OR SOMETHING BECAUSE OF THE LIGHT BEING CONSTANTLY ON. I DO APPRECIATE HONDA SENDING THE AIRBAG RECALL AND FOOTING THE BILL, BUT DON'T THINK IT'S FAIR TO GO INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND SOMETHING ELSE GETS MESSED UP AND I HAVE TO PAY TO GET IT REPAIRED AT MY EXPENSE.

OUTSIDE OF AN AIRBAG RECALL NOTICE RECEIVED IN JUNE, THERE WERE 4 CONSECUTIVE ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTIONS THAT OCCURRED AND IS CURRENTLY PENDING - 1) REAR DRIVER-SIDE WINDOW MOTOR SEIZED, 2) BOTH KEYLESS FOBS STOPPED WORKING AND REQUIRES REPROGRAMMING, ACCORDING TO MECHANIC, 3) CD/AUX BUTTON NO LONGER FUNCTIONING, AND 4) REAR DRIVER, PASSENGER, AND FRONT PASSENGER-SIDE WINDOW MOTORS HAVE ALL SEIZED AND NO LONGER FUNCTIONING. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THE SALESMAN DID NOT DISCLOSE PHYSICAL FRONT BUMPER DAMAGE ON SALE DATE, AND DID NOT OFFER ANY CORRECTIVE ACTION UPON NOTIFICATION. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN DEALERSHIP'S POSSESSION OVER A YEAR - FROM SALE DATE. HOWEVER, THEY (OWNER/SALESMAN) GUARANTEED THE CONDITION OF THE VEHICLE AS ABOVE STANDARD AND RECOMMENDED EXTENDED WARRANTY.
THE 2007 HONDA ACCORD ALSO LISTED AS "VEHICLE" WAS TRAVELING SOUTH BOUND ON ANSON RD NEAR 50TH ST, NEAR WELLINGTON, KS. VEHICLE STRUCK MID-CENTER OF A EXTENDED SUV THAT PULLED OUT FROM A FARM ACCESS ROAD. VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 55MPH, WITH CRUISE CONTROL SET. DRIVER APPLIED BREAKS TO TRY TO STOP, BUT FAILED TO STOP IN TIME TO AVOID COLLISION. VEHICLE FAILED TO DEPLOY AIRBAGS. SAFETY RESTRAINT DID NOT FAIL AT TIME OF IMPACT, BUT FAILED TO RESEND ONCE UNHOOKED FROM DRIVER. IMPACT BY VEHICLE WAS PRIMARILY MID-CENTER, AND VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING WELL ABOVE THE 30MPH AT TIME OF IMPACT WHICH SHOULD HAVE RELEASED THE SAFETY DEVICES TO PROTECT THE DRIVER.
THE CAR SWIRLED ON BLACK ICE AND HAD A SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE ON SIDE WHEN IT HIT A TREE ON THE RAMP. WHEN CAR WAS REPAIRED THE TECHNICIAN SAID THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE CONTROL MODULE OF THE AIR BAG AS IT HAD BURNT OUT. THEY WERE NOT SURE IF THE AIR BAG SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED OR DID NOT BECAUSE OF THIS FAILURE. HAVING READ THE RECALL FOR 2008 ACCORD FOR A SIMILAR ISSUE, I REMEMBERED ABOUT THIS INCIDENT AND THOUGHT I WILL BRING IT FORWARD INCASE THERE ARE ANY 2007 ACCORDS AS WELL THAT SHOULD BE LOOKED AT.

I AM ASSUMING THEY ARE AWARE OF THESE RECALLS, SO I AM SURPRISED THAT THEY DON'T HAVE PARTS AVAILABLE AND THEY WILL ORDER ONLY WHEN SOMEONE CALLS. AND, I WILL BE DRIVING FOR AT LEAST COUPLE OF WEEKS WITH THE RISK OF HAVING A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED HONDA OF DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES TO SCHEDULE A REPLACEMENT OF MY VEHICLE'S INFLATOR. I WAS TOLD BY THEIR SERVICE CENTER THAT THEY WOULD ORDER THE PART AND I WOULD BE CONTACTED WHEN IT ARRIVED. I CALLED BACK TWO WEEKS LATER AS I HAD NOT RECEIVED A CALL AND THEY SAID THEY WERE STILL WAITING ON THE RECALLED PART TO ARRIVE AND ASSURED ME I WOULD GET A CALL. A MONTH LATER I HAD STILL NOT HEARD ANYTHING, SO I CALLED AGAIN AND WAS AGAIN TOLD THAT I WOULD BE CALLED WHEN THE PART ARRIVED. NOT UNTIL JULY 2015 DID I GET TWO NEW SAFETY RECALL NOTICES FROM HONDA (NHTSA RECALL 15V-320 & 15V370). ONE RECALL WAS FOR THE SAME DRIVER SIDE INFLATOR IN ADDITION TO THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG INFLATOR. I CALLED DIAMOND HONDA OF GLENDALE TO SCHEDULE SERVICE, AND WHILE THE REQUIRED PARTS NEEDED TO BE ORDERED, A SERVICE APPOINTMENT WAS MADE FOR ONE WEEK LATER. IN SHORT, I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM HONDA IN MARCH 2015 AND IT TOOK ME CONTACTING TWO DIFFERENT SERVICE CENTERS MULTIPLE TIMES OVER A FOUR MONTH PERIOD TO HAVE THE RECALL APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED. .. WE WERE SKEPTICAL THAT SOMETHING WE COULD NOT/DID NOT FEEL WOULD HAVE CAUSED THIS, BUT AFTER MUCH BACK AND FORTH WITH HONDA, IT WAS CLEAR THAT THE ONLY OPTION WE HAD TO GET OUR VEHICLE FUNCTIONING AGAIN WAS TO FILE AN INSURANCE CLAIM, WHICH WE DID, RESULTING IN OUT-OF-POCKET COSTS TO US IN THE FORM OF OUR DEDUCTIBLE AND OTHER RELATED EXPENSES. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THAT I PURCHASED MY CAR FROM AND EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED AN THEY SAID THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A THING HAPPENING AN IF I HAD REPLACED ANYTHING ON MY CAR.. IT'S A BRAN NEW CAR 1 1/2 YRS OLD, OTHER THAN OIL CHANGES NOTHING HAS BEEN REPLACED. THANK GOD NO ONE WAS IN MY PASSENGER SIDE SEAT WHICH DOESN'T EXPLAIN WHY THE AIRBAGS WERE ON IN THE 1ST PLACE. AND THANK GOD I DIDN'T CRASH DUE TO THE HORRIFYING SOUND AND BEING SCARED TO DEATH! MY EARS WERE RINGING FOR A GOOD HOUR AFTER IT DEPLOYED. HONDA STATED THAT I MUST HAVE RAN SOMETHING OVER. THEY PUT MY CAR ON A LIFT AN SAID THERE WAS A HOLE ON THE FLOOR OF MY CAR WHICH WOULD HAVE TRIGGERED THE SENSOR WHICH THEN SET THE AIRBAG OFF. I KNOW I DIDN'T RUN ANYTHING OVER... I WAS JUST DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE. THEY THEN SAID THAT THE SLIGHTEST IMPACT WOULD SET THE SENSOR'S OFF. SO NOW MY CAR IS IN A SHOP AFTER HAVING NO CAR FOR 2WKS. AND I'M PAYING OVER A $1000 TO GET IT REPAIRED. HONDA HAS NOT BEEN HELPFUL IN THIS WHOLE ORDEAL. PRETTY MUCH WHAT I GOT OUT OF WHAT THEY SAID IS THAT ANYTIME THAT I RUN OVER ANY DEBRIS IN THE ROAD THAT I NOW HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT MY SENSOR'S SETTING MY AIRBAGS OFF. IF THEIR SENSOR'S ARE SO SENSITIVE THEN THIS CAN BE AN ONGOING ISSUE AND IF IT HAPPENS TO SOMEONE ELSE THE OUTCOME COULD BE ALOT WORSE.... *TR

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES AND BOTH VEHICLES WERE DAMAGED. HE WAS CONCERNED OF THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE UNAVAILABLE.
MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL DIFFICULTIES VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS DUE TO SPORADIC WORKING OF THE POWER DOOR LOCKS AND KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM. THEY STILL HAVE NOT FOUND THE ISSUE. IT IS WORSE WHEN IT IS HUMID AND/OR RAINS. DURING THE WINTER MONTHS OF 2007/2008; THE STEREO'S LCD WENT WARPED AND THE WHOLE STEREO HAD TO BE REPLACED. ON MEMORIAL DAY 2008; THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT CAUGHT FIRE WHILE I WAS SITTING IN IT PARKED WAITING ON MY CHILDREN TO COME OUT OF A THEME PARK. MY HUSBAND BURNED HIS HAND TRYING TO PUT OUT THE FIRE; AND WAS OUT OF WORK FOR ABOUT 2-WEEKS DUE TO THE BURN. THE DEALERSHIP AND HONDA REFUSED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS FIRE; WHICH STARTED INSIDE THE SEAT DUE TO THE ELECTRONIC SEATS AND/OR HEATED LEATHER SEATS, AS DETERMINED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY APPRAISER. THE SEAT HAD TO BE REPLACED, THE ELECTRONIC SEAT COMPONENTS, HEATED LEATHER SEAT COMPONENTS, PART OF THE CENTER CONSOLE, AND THE CARPETING AND FLOOR MATS. WE GOT THE CAR BACK ON JULY 3. ON MONDAY, JULY 7; MY HUSBAND TOOK THE CAR TO HAVE IT INSPECTED (AT THE DEALERSHIP); SINCE THE STATE INSPECTION WAS PAST DUE. THEY REJECTED THE INSPECTION STATING THAT THE ELECTRONIC SYSTEM IS NOT RECOGNIZING THE SEAT BELTS. THEY LATER CHANGED THEIR TUNE WHEN I CALLED THEM AND ARE NOW TRYING TO SAY IT WASN'T THAT IT WAS THE AIRBAG WASN'T HOOKED UP; AND THEY COULD FIX IT. I KNOW THEY ARE LYING, AND THEY ARE TRYING TO COVER THEIR TRACKS AS THIS I AM SURE IS JUST ANOTHER ELECTRICAL ISSUE IN MY CAR. I AM AT MY WITS END ON WHAT TO DO WITH THIS CAR. I CAN'T AFFORD TO TRADE IT IN, I HAVE SPENT OVER $1000 ON RENTAL CARS WAITING FOR IT TO BE REPAIRED, AND NOW THIS. ALSO, THE POWER DOOR LOCKS STILL DO NOT WORK. *TR

WE WERE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 75 IN RICHARDSON, TX ON 4/23/08 ABOUT 9PM ON A STORMY NIGHT WITH A LOT OF LIGHTNING AND RAIN AND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG AND PASSENGER SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS CAME OUT WITH A VERY LOUD GUN SHOT LIKE SOUND BUT DID NOT FULLY INFLATE. MY WIFE AND I WERE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT HAPPENED TO CAUSE THEM TO DO THAT SO WE SLOWED DOWN AND PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. WE THOUGHT WE HAD BEEN SHOT AT OR SOMETHING WAS THROWN AT THE CAR BECAUSE WE WERE NOT HIT BY ANOTHER AUTO. I GOT OUT AND LOOKED THE CAR OVER AND FOUND NO REASON FOR THE AIRBAGS AND CURTAIN TO DO THAT. MY WIFE WAS THOROUGHLY SHAKEN AND IS STILL "GUN SHY" SO TO SPEAK TODAY RIDING IN ANY VEHICLE. WE STARTED TO GET BACK ON THE HIGHWAY AND A FEW CAR LENGTHS DOWN THE ROAD REALIZED THAT WE ALSO HAD A FLAT ON THE FRONT RIGHT TIRE. HONDA SAYS WE RAN OVER SOMETHING THAT CAUSED THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY AND THAT IT WAS AN INSURANCE ISSUE SINCE WE COINCIDENTALLY HAD A FLAT AFTER THE AIRBAGS PARTIALLY DEPLOYED. WE OBVIOUSLY DID RUN OVER SOMETHING TO CUT THE TIRE BUT NO REASON TO MAKE THE AIRBAGS PARTIALLY DEPLOY AND WE CERTAINLY NEVER EXPECTED SIDE IMPACT AIR CURTAINS AND AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY EVEN IF WE RAN OVER SOMETHING. THE HONDA SERVICEMAN SAID WHATEVER WE HIT RAISED THE BACK FLOORBOARD 2 INCHES - WE THINK IN THAT CAR THAT LOW TO THE GROUND THAT WE WOULD HAVE HEARD IT HIT AND/OR FELT IT HIT IF IT DID THAT MUCH DAMAGE. WE HAVE HAD THE CAR SINCE LAST SEPTEMBER AND HAVE NOT HAD ONE COMPLAINT AND THE OUTSIDE OF THE CAR IS JUST LIKE BRAND NEW - NOT EVEN A SCRATCH ON IT. WE HAVE PICTURES OF THE CAR WITH THE DEFECTED AIRBAGS AND CURTAIN SHOWN WITH AN "UNDAMAGED" BODY. THE AIR CURTAIN YOU CAN TELL NEVER INFLATED - LOOKS LIKE NEW WITH ALL THE WRINKLES AND FOLDS. IT NEVER HIT MY WIFE AT ALL. WE SURELY THOUGHT HONDA WOULD HAVE STOOD BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS BETTER THAN THIS. *TR

DAMAGE TO MY CAR WAS EXTENSIVE, AND BOTH I AND THE DRIVER OF THE OTHER CAR WERE INJURED. I LOST CONSCIOUSNESS AND SUFFERED A CONCUSSION. I AND THE OTHER DRIVER WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE. IN MY CAR, THE FRONT, SIDE AND CURTAIN AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONERS PROBABLY DID NOT WORK BECAUSE I HIT MY HEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL WITH SUFFICIENT FORCE TO LOSE CONSCIOUSNESS. I REPORTED THIS TO THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER WHERE MY CAR IS BEING REPAIRED, AND I REQUESTED THAT THE DEALER INFORM THE HONDA ZONE REPRESENTATIVE. MY INSURANCE COMPANY INSISTS THAT MY CAR IS REPAIRABLE, BUT I HAVE LOST TOTAL CONFIDENCE IN THE SAFETY SYSTEMS OF THIS CAR. *TR

BRAND NEW 2007 HONDA ACCORD LX PURCHASED THE CAR ON FEBRUARY 16, 2007. ON FEBRUARY 19, I STARTED THE CAR AND THE SRS INDICATOR LAMP STAYED LIT THE ENTIRE TIME THE CAR WAS OPERATING. EACH TIME I STARTED THE CAR LATER ON THAT DAY, THE SRS LAMP DID NOT STAY ON AFTER THE INITIAL START-UP. ON FEBRUARY 20, I DROVE TO WORK AND DID NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE LIGHT STAYING ON, BUT LATER IN THE DAY WHEN I STARTED THE CAR THE SRS LAMP CAME ON AND STAYED ON THE ENTIRE TIME I DROVE IT.
