CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON AND OFF A FEW TIMES, TOOK IT TO AUTOCHECK AND FOUND A CODE. TOOK IT TO DEALER, THEY COULD NOT LOCATE THE CODE AND CLAIMED THERE IS NO ISSUE THEY CAN FIND, COME BACK WHEN IT HAPPENS AGAIN. FEW WEEKS LATER, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME AGAIN IN THE EVENING, AND NOW WITH OTHER PROBLEMS, THE WHOLE ELECTRIC SYSTEM INCLUDING LIGHTS, RADIO ETC STARTED DANCING ON AND OFF, ABS LIGHT CAME ON AND OFF. HAPPENED FOR A FEW MINUTES AND THEN EVERYTHING WENT SMOOTH. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY CLAIM THE CODE P0685 WAS FOUND AND THERE WAS A SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR THE PCM AND THEY APPLIED THAT UPDATE. I ASKED WHY WAS THERE NO INTIMATION ABOUT IT AND THE RESPONSE WAS THAT IT WAS NOT CONSIDERED AS ONE OF THE CRITICAL UPDATES. WITH THE EXPERIENCE I HAD, THE WAY THINGS WERE HAPPENING IN THAT 2-3 MINUTES OF ELECTRIC SYSTEM DANCE, ANYTHING COULD HAVE GONE WRONG WITH THE CAR. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL NOTICE SENT FOR THIS UPDATE.

GETTING OFF INTERSTATE 95 (CT), SLOWING DOWN FOR STOP SIGN, BRAKES FAILED. SHIFTED TO PARK, PULLED EMERGENCY BRAKE, FOOT STILL ON BRAKES TO NO AVAIL. BUMP CAR IN FRONT OF ME BEFORE STOPPING. NO WARNING LIGHTS WHATSOEVER. CALLED 911 AND REPORTED ACCIDENT. DROVE CAR THE NEXT DAY TO NEAREST HONDA DEALER IN WESTPORT, CT. EXPLAINED ACCIDENT TO SERVICE TECHNICIAN. WAS INFORMED THAT THEY FOUND AIR ENTERING ABS MODULATOR. THEY INDICATED THAT IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. HAD TO ORDER PART AND REPAIR WAS COMPLETED ON MAY 9TH. REQUESTED ORIGINAL SERVICE MANAGER (MAHWAH HONDA, NJ) OF PROBLEM AND ASKED TO SPEAK TO A HONDA REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVE TO DISCUSS AS TO WHY NO WARNING LIGHTS AND MAY BE CAUSED BY A DEFECTIVE MODULATOR. AS OF TODAY, HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY FEEDBACK AFTER NUMEROUS EMAILS AND TELEPHONE CALLS TO MAHWAH HONDA. SEEMS LIKE HONDA DO NOT WANT HEAR ABOUT THESE PROBLEMS. I REQUESTED AND RECEIVED THE MODULATOR THAT WAS ORIGINALLY IN THE CAR. SOMEONE WILL GET HURT IF HONDA DO NOT ACT ON THIS PROBLEM. HONDA FORUMS SHOWS MANY 2007 ACCORD BRAKE PROBLEMS. PLEASE HELP. ON EXITING FROM A BELTWAY ON TO A RAMP AND APPLYING THE BRAKES TO SLOW THE CAR, IT ACCELERATED THE CAR AND AS I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR, IT SPED UP FURTHER. I APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND AFTER GOING VERY FAST OVER SEVERAL CURBS AND THROUGH AN INTERSECTION I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE CAR ALONG SIDE OF ANOTHER CURB. THIS DAMAGED THE RIGHT FENDER AND ACTIVATED THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. ALL OF THE TIRES WERE FLATTENED AND THE FRAME BENT, SO THE CAR COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. THE EVENT WAS QUITE FRIGHTENING AND FORTUNATELY THERE WERE NO CARS IN THE ROAD OR INTERSECTION AND THE CAR STOPPED BEFORE HITTING ANY STRUCTURE. I WAS ALONE AND NOT INJURED. I HAD THE CAR INSPECTED DURING THE PAST YEAR, SINCE IT HAD ACCELERATED A FEW TIMES AFTER I REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR AND APPLIED THE BRAKES. *TR

BRAKES UNEVENLY HAVE WORN ON THE BACK, AND THERE APPEARS TO BE A CALIPER ISSUE AND THE BRAKE PADS DO NOT EVEN COVER THE ENTIRE SURFACE OF THE ROTOR. SUDDENLY THE CAR HAD A VERY DIFFICULT TIME STOPPING. WITH LESS THAN 28K MILES THE BRAKES SHOULD BE FINE. 2007 HONDA ACCORD EX-NAVIGATION. I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE SINCE 2010 WITH 30K. THEY SHOULD BE MULTIPLE RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE. IN 2 OCCASIONS ON THE HIGHWAY, I WAS UNABLE TO STOP THIS VEHICLE. I REAR ENDED ONE VEHICLE DOING 45 MPH WITHOUT THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYING. THE AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON WITH IT FLASHING. I HAD A COMPLETE BRAKE SYSTEM OVERHAUL. SECOND TIME, THE SAME THING HAPPENED. I PRESSED ON THE BRAKES AND IT TAKES SO LONG FOR THE VEHICLE TO RESPOND. DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THERE WAS NO ISSUE WITH THE AIRBAGS OR BRAKING SYSTEM. AFTER BOTH ACCIDENTS THE AIRBAG LIGHT FLASHES AND STAYS ON. ALSO THE SEAT BELTS STAY IN A LOCKED POSITION AND WON'T RETRACT. DEALERSHIP SAYS THE PISTON IN THE SEAT BELTS WERE BAD. I WAITED TO HAVE THEM FIXED. GOOD THING BECAUSE BOTH SEAT BELTS RETRACTED AFTER THREE WEEKS. SEPARATE ISSUE WITH THE SEALS ON THE OUTER DOORS. EVERY TIME IT RAINS I END UP WITH 3 INCHES OF WATER ON THE DRIVER SIDE REAR FLOOR. I HAD THE DEALERSHIP ALSO CHECK THIS. THEY SAID THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM. ALL PROBLEMS STILL OCCUR TO THIS DAY. SINCE MY PURCHASE, JUNE OF 2007 I HAVE HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKE SYSTEM AND AT THAT TIME HONDA HAD FULFILLED THE QUALITY EXPECTATIONS. HOWEVER; A LARGER ISSUE IS AT HAND REGARDING MY CAR TRANSMISSION CAUSING A LEAKING PROBLEM. UPON DISCOVERING THE LEAKAGE, I IMMEDIATELY TOOK MY CAR OUT FOR SERVICE. I HAVE NOW FOUND OUT THAT HONDA MISDIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AND PERFORMED UNNECESSARY REPAIRS CHARGING ME A $300 DOLLARS OUT OF MY POCKET. WITHIN COUPLE OF WEEKS I WAS BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP TO RAISE MY CONCERNS ABOUT CONSISTENT LEAKAGE. AT THIS POINT THEY ADVISED ME THAT IT'S TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. AFTER 3 MONTHS OF ARGUING AND WRITING LETTERS TO THE HONDA CEO, FINALLY THE SAME CASE MANAGER WHO REFUSED TO HELP ME AT FIRST, OFFERED A 50% COVERAGE BY HONDA TO REPLACE ITS TRANSMISSION. THAT IS AROUND $2000 OUT OF MY PACKET FIXING THEIR DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION. AT THIS POINT, I CAN'T DRIVE THIS CAR. THE SMOKE AND BURNING SMELL COMING FROM UNDER HOOD CAUSES A SAFETY CONCERN. UPON REVIEW, I NOTICED THAT THE REAR BRAKES WERE WORN DOWN SIGNIFICANTLY AND THE ROTORS WERE BADLY SCORED. I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS ON THE REAR BRAKES OF SUCH A CAR. APPARENTLY THE BRAKES ARE A MAJOR CONCERN ON THIS VEHICLE, YET HONDA DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE WILLING TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE PROBLEM UNLESS THREATENED (AND EVEN THEN IT MAY NOT HAPPEN). HONDA HAS MADE AN INFERIOR PRODUCT AND DOES NOT STAND BY THEIR CAR. I HAVE FOUND IS POINTLESS TO CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICE BECAUSE IT DOES NOTHING BUT FRUSTRATE ME THE CONSUMER! THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE AND BLAMES THE CUSTOMER FOR BEING UPSET BECAUSE THEY BUILT A CHEAP PRODUCT. I BOUGHT THIS CAR BECAUSE IT IS A RELIABLE CAR, THAT WOULD LAST ME YEARS IF MAINTAINED PROPERLY. I HAVE HONDA DO MY REGULAR MAINTENANCE, BUT THIS TIME, I COULDN'T AFFORD THEIR OUTRAGEOUS COSTS. I HAVE UNDER 32000MILES AND MY REAR BRAKES AND ENTIRE A/C SYSTEM HAVE ALREADY BEEN REPLACED. SINCE MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY (4YEARS OLD NOW) FOR THE A/C THEY SAID SINCE I DID NOT GO TO THEIR DEALERSHIP, IT WAS OUT OF POCKET FOR ME. OF COURSE THEY TEASE ME AND TELL ME IF I DID PAY THE $60 FOR THE INSPECTION, THEN THEY COULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING ABOUT IT. MY BRAKES DID OCCUR DURING WARRANTY, AND THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE BRAKES AND THAT HAVING THEM WEAR OUT UNDER 20,000MILES IS NORMAL. THERE IS REALLY NO WAY TO KNOW WHEN THE A/C NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, BUT BECAUSE THEY PUT IN A SMALL RECEIVER DRIER, THE DRIER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED EVERY 15,000-25,000 MILES!! HONDA DOESN'T TELL YOU THIS, AND IF YOU DON'T DO THIS, YOUR CONDENSER WILL BE DESTROYED, AND YOU RUN THE RISK OF HAVING TO INSTALL A BRAND NEW A/C SYSTEM IN A CAR NOT EVEN 10YEARS OLD! AFTER ABOUT 6 WEEKS, I TOOK THE CAR INTO HAVE THE BRAKES DONE, AND WAS TOLD BY THE TECHNICIAN THAT A TSB, #07-045 DATED MARCH 5, 2009, HAD BEEN PUBLISHED CONCERNING THE VSA MODULATOR ON THE VEHICLE, AND THAT I SHOULD CHECK WITH HONDA. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO KEN GARFF HONDA IN OREM, UTAH, AND SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER, SHOWING HIM A COPY OF THE TSB. HE TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING COULD DO FOR ME AS IT WAS NOT A RECALL. I EXPLAINED I WAS HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE BRAKES ON THE VEHICLE, BUT HE WAS NOT WILLING TO LOOK AT THE CAR. THAT WAS A CONCERN TO ME AS THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS ALMOST TO THE FLOOR TO GET THE CAR STOPPED. THERE WAS ALSO A NOTICEABLE PULL TO THE RIGHT WHEN I BRAKED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO A BRAKE REPAIR SHOP AND THEY CHANGED THE BRAKE FLUID, MAKING ME AWARE THERE WAS QUITE A BIT OF AIR IN THE BRAKE LINES. I HAD THE BRAKES BLED AGAIN THREE WEEKS AGO, AND AGAIN THE PEDAL IS ALMOST TO THE FLOORBOARD TO GET THE CAR STOPPED. I FEEL THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY PROBLEM WITH THE VSA MODULATOR, AND THAT HONDA IS AWARE OF IT. THEY CONDUCTED A RECALL OF THE ELEMENT AND ODYSSEY FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, AND ARE REPLACING THE VSA MODULATORS IN CARS UNDER WARRANTY, YET ARE NOT WILLING TO STEP FORWARD AND MAKE SAFE A VEHICLE THAT HAS A POTENTIALLY CATASTROPHIC PROBLEM . *TR

THE FRONT BRAKES VIBRATE VIOLENTLY WHEN APPLYING BRAKES AT SPEED OF 60 ~ 75 MPH. 07 HONDA ACCORD REAR BRAKE PAD PINS BECOME RUSTED AND WILL NOT LET THE REAR BRAKE PADS RELEASE, CAUSING THEM TO BE APPLIED ALL OF THE TIME, ON ONE PAD ON EACH SIDE, CAUSING EXCESSIVE WEAR AND DAMAGE TO THE BRAKE PADS AND BRAKE ROTORS. I'D LIKE TO REPORT AN ISSUE WITH MY 07 HONDA ACCORD BRAKES WITH 32,642 MILES. AFTER A FEW MILES OF FREEWAY DRIVING (NO STOP AND GO) ALL 4 ROTORS ARE VERY HOT. ANY ROTOR IS TOO HOT TO TOUCH, AND IN FACT, WOULD BLISTER YOUR FINGER. THEY ARE SO HOT THAT THEY SOMETIMES SMELL OF BURNT BRAKE MATERIAL. THESE BRAKE ROTORS ARE EXCESSIVELY HOT WITHOUT VIRTUALLY ANY USAGE OF THE BRAKES. THIS IS NOT A NORMAL CONDITION FOR ANY CAR. I DO NOT USE MY BRAKES EXCESSIVELY, DRIVE ALMOST EXCLUSIVELY FREEWAYS, AND GOT OVER 100,000 MILE ON MY PREVIOUS HONDA'S REAR BRAKES. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER FOR SERVICE UNDER WARRANTY. WHEN I PULLED IN TO THE SERVICE AREA THE SERVICE PERSON CAME RIGHT OUT. I ASKED HIM TO VERIFY THAT THE ROTORS WERE EXTREMELY HOT. HE DID SO. THE REASON I HAD ASKED THE SERVICE PERSON TO VERIFY THE HOT ROTORS WAS SO THAT HE COULD ACKNOWLEDGE THE FACT THAT THE ROTORS WERE INDEED HOT BEFORE THE CAR HAD A CHANCE TO COOL DOWN. AFTER 20 MINUTES OR SO THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO CHECK THE BRAKES. HE SAID THAT THERE WERE NO HOT SPOTS ON THE ROTORS AND THERE WAS NO PROBLEM. OF COURSE THE ROTORS WERE NOT HOT AFTER COOLING DOWN FOR 20 MINUTES. THE SERVICE PERSON ALSO TOLD ME THAT THE REAR PADS WERE CLOSE TO NEEDING REPLACEMENT. NEEDING TO REPLACE THE REAR PADS AFTER 33,000 MILE OF FREEWAY DRIVING IS PREMATURE PAD WEAR. THE ONLY REASON FOR PREMATURE PAD WEAR ON MY BRAKES AFTER 33,000 MILES IS DRAGGING BRAKE PADS. BECAUSE THE BRAKES ARE DRAGGING ALL THE TIME IS THE REASON THAT THE ROTORS ARE EXCESSIVELY HOT AND THE REASON THAT THE PADS ARE PREMATURELY WORN. THIS IS NOT A NORMAL CONDITION FOR ANY CAR. BRAKE ROTORS BEING EXCESSIVELY HOT IS A DANGEROUS CONDITION. ROTORS THAT ARE EXCESSIVELY HOT ALL THE TIME WILL LEAD TO PREMATURE BRAKE FADE IN CONDITIONS WHERE THE BRAKES WOULD BE USED A LOT, LIKE DRIVING DOWNHILL MOUNTAIN GRADES. THE BRAKES ON MY NEW 2007 HONDA GRAB 50% OF THE TIME. ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS AFTER THE CAR IS WASHED. THEY ARE TOO SENSITIVE, AND I'M NEVER SURE WHAT PRESSURE TO USE TO STOP SAFELY. *TR THE BLIND SPOT ON THE RIGHT REAR SIDE OF CAR IS UNSAFE.
